This is a new Montana 680 T from Gamin. And it’s our new top-of-the-line full-featured handheld device got a nice bright four inch touchscreen display the other thing like. Most cell phones is its dual orientation so. You can look at it vertically. Or horizontally 100k topo maps preloaded in of the entire United States those are great to know what’s going on around. You in Cline’s you see lakes streams trails roads. That information is literally at your fingertips with a touch screen display it’s also got bird’s-eye satellite imagery subscription for one year basically. What you can do is you can download. These high-resolution satellite images of the location. That you’re hunting so. It will give you game trails. It will give you tree lines. And will give you building structures GLONASS satellite capability. That is another constellation of satellites so. You turn this device on its going to acquire a fix. And it’s going to keep. That fix much more clearly. If you’re in Si a deep canyon. Or a heavy tree cover the six ATT also comes with an 8 megapixel camera built into. It the nice thing about. That the unit is waterproof therefore the camera is waterproof. You can save all your pictures on here. It automatically marks. That location is. It was taken it’s the new montana 6 ATT from Gamin for more information on. This product and others go to Gamin calm.

Hey doing this to show McVeigh which smells outdoor adventures. This video I want to do a quick review on the garmin montana 680 t. Iwant to tell you the three main reasons why I purchased. This particular GPS. And my feedback on it previously. Ihad the Gamin organ for eight 450 T which led to. One of the reasons why I purchased. Because the screen on. This is so much bigger. Than the other Gamin. You know GPS is that was. One of my big challenges like the screen was just too small sometimes. When you’re out it for hunting and so. When you’re trying to get a good view of the whole area with the screen being as small as. It just wasn’t enough so. Ialso got a little bit spooled with the. You know carrying around my smartphone. And in a lot of situations by Parkman’s smartphone was big enough okay so for example here is my smartphone. You know as you can see the size of the screen they’re pretty much the same okay so size of the screen. And being what you can see was. One key reason another important reason is. This particular model can take pictures. When I’m out scouting and.

Isee a scrape you know. You could go out scouting and see five different scrapes. When I’m putting in waypoints. Ilike to name you know. This area scrape one scrape to scrape three but to have a visual to be able to take a picture of. That scrape and have. That be the actual Waypoint. It is very nice so that was the second reason why I went. And bought this is over six hundred dollar GPS. And I’ll just throw. This in real quick what I did was. Iintentionally waited till around Christmas time Cabala’s has lots of sales at. That time Black Friday. Isaved up gift cards. You know when people say hey Shawn. You want for your birthday I’d say. Ijust give me a Cabala’s a gift card. Iwould save those up which is. What that’s what I did.

Ibasically spent about $200 of my own money on. Because the rest are covered in gift cards plus. It was like a hundred 150 dollars off on the sale. They had at that time. Another key reason I bought. This model is it has pre-loaded topo maps in. Me is really important. Iknow there’re different ways. You can download topo maps. And put them on there. You can pay for them after the fact but topo is a huge thing for me. Ijust wanted it on there already so those are the reasons. Ipurchased this particular model. Iwill give you feedback as far. It works in my observation. It doesn’t always get a signal as well as my organ 452 did so the smaller model actually sometimes sync better there have been a.

Few instances it would not. Even wink perfectly clear day. You know why out in the open. It wouldn’t sink to the satellites. And so sometimes it has just sometimes like the hooks up right away but sometimes. It just struggles and there’s been a. Little scouting and hunting situations. Iwas depending on it wouldn’t work for me so it’s very frustrating another thing. That can be very frustrating with. This is the touch screen. It doesn’t work that well so like. Iwant to edit and put in a waypoint sometimes I’ll be. You know typing stuff in. It won’t register or I’ll be hitting like let’s say. Iwant to hit M it’ll it’ll register as a different letter. And right now it’s working well but part of the reason is. Iconstantly have to re calibrate the screen let. Me go to this function here calibrate screen so. You probably go to have to redo. If you’re not super precise. Where you’re hitting on. This calibration which I’m not being super precise right.

Now it’s going to throw. This thing off and it’s going to be it’s going to be ugly so bottom line is I’m constantly re calibrating the screen on. This the touch screen is very frustrating with. This thing so I don’t know. If it’s just my model is a little bit glitchy. If they’re all like. That but that’s been a big disappointment to. Me obviously there’s lots of other functionality with. This particular unit. You can use it for but. Iprimarily use it for scouting and hunting and so that’s the feedback I’m giving here’s the big question is. It worth the money is. This handheld GPS worth. What they charge this particular model. That I’m holding you know.

Iwould say no I would be happy. If there’s another model a step down. That doesn’t have the camera. Ihaven’t tested that model but. It works better one then. Iwould say forget the camera. And just use that the camera is nice for having. That visual and helping you remember. What you meant on the Waypoint but it’s not an absolute necessity so that’s my take on the garmin montana 680 t. You know okay I would not say worth the money. You can get I did shave up gift cards. And stuff okay it is nice having the big screen I’ll give it. That other that it’s oh. You know I forgot to mention. One other thing its accuracy is not as good as my organ 450 T there’re times. Where I’ll be standing at where. Though it’s telling me the Waypoint is. And I’m like this is not the right spot. And then the way pm might.

Where I’m located we’ll just start floating around so. Some accuracy trouble at times which. You know I feel as the other. One did not have that there. You have it I’m done blabbing I’m going to go do. Some scouting and hanging trail cameras.

Hi it’s John here from GPS training what we’re going to do in. This short review is look at the spot Gen 3 which is a one-way satellite communicator on personal tracker so the key thing is a one-way tracker. We can send messages. Or people can see where. We are, but we can’t receive messages back from the master key thing so overall build quality is very good it’s just four hours in weight with the batteries. And I really like a nice compact unit very simple also to use. This strap it is really good. Because you can attach. Either onto your belt strap onto your looks extra so in entry so. You can see by the size of my hand it’s not very big at. All really nice and simple just a number of buttons so on/off button on the side press the on/off button on the unit switches itself on. When it’s on we just get. This flashing light at the top. That shows is that’s on. And when the key things with. This is actually it doesn’t actually get a satellite thing until. You send a message and. This how get such good battery performance get really good backup for us they’re saying. That if you have 50 percent clear view of the sky the four double A batteries will get a. If it’s switched on 24 hours a day we’re gonna get 13 days. And continuous battery life. Now we’re going to switch. It on/off it’s very rarely. We have it on continuously we’re 24 hours a day 30 hours by the four double A batteries lithium batteries. That you get with it just normal lithium don’t double A batteries so again it’s its fantastic performance.

That you get with the unit so overall was. It comes out New York eight coming in recommended retail price about 129 pounds just very good value for money. And then we need to get ourselves a contract until. That he’s our service plan so again depending on what service plan. You get it’s a power 160 pound a year for a service plan in the UK to. You to use this product is they’ve quite unfair to compare. It to other units no we’ve done a lot with the Gamin reach stuff. And really like that to a communicator brush that’s four times the cost so. Isee it’s very unfair to compare. That with it with this. Because this is more. Than the base end of the market batches were discussed really good performance on the batteries so setting up the unit plug into our computer. And we said they’re quite a nice easy simple process to do. One thing about it — Mike. We have three hours wanted set. It up to actually get activated by the sunrise. Because needs get activated again cuz there’s no way of telling you.

It just kind of fired into life two hours. Ithought I said no but I’m ready to go. It took me a few hours to do. That it works from the global star 24 low-earth orbit satellites so again it’s not the Iridium satellite alarm the Sabbath at. This sat phones went from it’s the global star therefore we’re not getting a hundred percent worldwide was getting very good coverage America you’re open. And a majority, but we’re not talking on percent coverage like. We do some other products currently on the market. What I like about is the simplicity really simple unit SOS button don’t. Where you can’t accidentally press it’s hidden under a little flap there got ok getting you set up.

All these messages online. What you would say ok I’ve just set up so everything’s okay. This is where yeah tracking button again you’re going to start tracking which then other people can see. Where you are or you can see your track. You just hold down the tracking button for four seconds again. You can say preset message button so can. You set up everyone’s. And then we have like an internal help. Is which are is like an internal help button which again of. You when I’ll notify your friends. And family that even a problem. You can use that now the nice thing about. All this you set all. These up online so you set up the actual messages. That you do and you can go to up to ten email addresses. And or mobile telephone numbers. Now one of the key things.

Ifound is actually only the emails give your exact location as a link to a map. If you send a text message just gives. You a Latin long which is quite pointless really telling with people. We are supposed it isn’t an emergency but. Iquite like where there’s Nemo. It gives you a link. Where people can click on. It sees where young. And Google Earth so. How do we just do. Anything we just hold the button down for four seconds we’re going to send a message to our beers okay hold down the message bear press wasn’t for four seconds okay there. We go it’s now in deactivation mode so. What it’s doing is looking for a GPS signal as. You see the GPS button is starting to flash red shows not going to start light signal hopefully.

Iget warm and then. When he’s getting one will see the message being sent. And this is the key thing. That I mention is actually it’s only in the satellite signal. When it’s looking to send. That message and therefore. It does take a lot longer. Then some of the other products on the system but again it’s 119 129 pound. And recommend retail prices so. Now if I’m a GPS signal it’s getting its location. Now it’s got a GPS system. And it’s gonna wait. When we send the GPS isn’t. It will then send the message again it’s taking time isn’t. It so some statistics they’re saying. That once you press. It all messages will be received 97% of messages will be received within a 20-minute window.

Where again when we used to instantaneous text messages it’s not instantaneous text message okay it’s. Now sending that message so the third light is. Nothing so it tells. Is our powers on a GPS speaks of where. We are and now it’s sending. That message so it’s quite steady performance that’s. All I can say regard to. That isn’t it see it’s not instantaneously. And it’s quite an effects. You see a lot of reviews online. When people reviewing it. You know I’ve added. This again from the same location. It would do it gets a lot quicker. Because it knows where. We are for what I found. When I’m out walking it took a. While to send that message I’m moving all the time actually my satellite location is moving all the time so. It was taking note many minutes not tens of minutes to send.

That message so you can see. That it’s still sending. That message now again. Imust note I’ve just moved to new locations for this video so it’s taking a little. While to do it so it’s just about with sending. That message tracking key thing of. This is tracking also so people can see. Where you are again depending what plan your do a trap point every like two minutes ten minutes half an hour again battery life is key whole thing to track is people see. How you just hold down the tracking button. And you see it goes into tracking mode little life. Everything down for four seconds ago in tracking mode get a look of a GPS signal really it’s a GPS signal.

It will send a message of my current location. And that will do that every. How are you set up. This unit and every ten minutes every half hour again. It depends on your battery life. And it will do that. Now I like that appears on your computer. And it’s a really nice feature. And to stop anything sending a message. Now about current location I’m going to stop. This because again we’re under a tracking hold on. Most of the four seconds. And it stops you see a little red light flashes to say it’s not tracking okay quick look at the SOS button the SSRC has a lift of little flap. When you press it links into the g oz system which is a worldwide rescue international rescue.

It responds we repress. That again it’s equivalent name on. One or 999 in the UK an emergency response again. Ithink it’d be quite useful but. How do you know you got there’s no response back from. You always middle of. It I think I would be tempted to use. This a little bit more know. This notifies friends. And family that you’ve got a hunch problem. Now rather then manage. And speak to a human. And manage my emergency response then a summary over in America which. Idon’t even know I’ve received the message so again. Something just to a bear in mind so raw want to think of. It I really like the build quality. And the size of it I’m a bit. Then sure about just selling off message not getting anything back so. We I would use is if you’re walking in the UK. And you have a mobile phone signal for 50 percent 25 percent you’re walking and it’s a really nice addition.

Because only in those mobile phone dead spot. You can use this spot. And use it to his full potential but actually would a rely on. This if I had an accent on. Iremember my group had an accident. Iwas in the UK I would try. And move to somewhere a mobile phone signal. And wanna communicate direct. It was someone to hear back what’s happening when the emergence of is a. Rather than pressing a button sending signal ass only a message that’s only got a 96 percent success rate within 20 minutes ascending and. Idecide I know what are. They people gonna come Hyena come no is. It go be helicopters like a flying from the sky. And you read these stories online. That’s what yeah but.

You need a lot of the stories online. That’s not the response. You get is helicopters don’t come flying from the sky so it’s nice about tracking its nice. That you can send messages. That keep going back it’s a hundred. And twenty quiz just over a hundred quitters no so actually. You get what you pay for a really nice introduction into satellite GPS personal tracking communication of. It but actually it was an explorer. Iwas going into the Alps. It was doing quite serious walking I think. Iwould like to look at spending a little bit. More money and getting something. That really has that two-way communication so actually. It would press the SOS button.

It was a two-way communication device they’ll communicate with. Me I’ll communicate back with them. This the instant they see. What I have a lot more confident. And just press the button. And sitting there waiting.

(upbeat music) — Good day guys its Ben from Snowy’s here Today we’re having a quick look at the Spot Gen3 satellite messenger Now. One here is quite a unique product Like a lot of others So. When you’re in real strife SOS need. Some help You can get. Some assistance with. One But it’s also got a lot of other features. That others don’t have Like messaging services. You can check in with home as well Even. When your not within mobile range So let’s have a bit. More in depth look we’ll get. It out of the box have a look at. Some specs and features Now. This is quite a good unit It’s quite small as well So. It sits only round about 87 cm long About 6 1/2 across. And it’s about 2 1/2 centimeters deep as well It’s made of a strong rugged plastic Its weighs about 114 gram mes it’s super light And it’s also IPX7 rate so. It can be submersed under water about a metre deep for up to 30 mins for you go have trouble with. It as well So I’ve mentioned before. It comes with batteries Now. When you’re using batteries in. This They either gotta be lithium.

Or NIMH The ones that come with. These are lithium So its worth noting. These are rechargeable batteries You do have to change them over every 24 months. Or so That just stops them from going bad in the back of your SPOT messenger here Now were gonna go through. Some features of the SPOT Gen3 Now it’s probably worth noting. That there aren’t any batteries in. This I’ve taken them out. We don’t want a helicopter landing on the roof here at Snowys So we’re not gonna activate the SOS function But. How it’s done So the first. And foremost is the. Most important which is from the side here It’s quite an obvious. One here it is your on/off button as well Underneath. This little other part here is to the SOS So. What you wanna do is. You wanna lift this little rubber tab here And underneath you’ve got your red SOS buttons You need to hold. That for about 5 seconds Now after 5 seconds it’s gonna turn a green light up the top here When. It means that the message has been sent It’s reached the GPS.

And helps gonna be on its way Now. You have accidentally done. Or it’s not as bad as. You thought You can cancel. It by pushing for 5 seconds again And then the light will turn red. And you’re all good There’s no longer a help coming Now for non life-threatening issues So. It might be that your car has broken down. Or you’ve hurt yourself but you’re not in sort of grave danger There’s. One over here So what you can do is open up. That Again same process You hold. It for 5 seconds Now. That does is send a message every 5 minutes for 1 hour It shows your location Help will come they’ll help. You with your car Whatever. You have problems with.

And then you’re good to go Now the others are round your extra functions Which are a lot of other PLB’s don’t have So the first. That the check-in button So. One here you wanna do is just hold. That until the light blinks green at the top And then. Once you’ve done that what’s gonna happen is. That it’s just gonna send a message back home. It goes to your whole contacts. This you’ve set up before your trip To say. That you’re all okay. You are Now you can also set before. You go a custom message So. It might be something like: "Been a great trip coming home now". Something like that’s just over here So the same process hold for 5 seconds ’til the light goes green at the top Says your message has been sent At. That point what it does. It sends out a message Everyone on your contact list tells them the message you’ve programmed Gives them the location as well And then.

All good to go So the last. One here is your tracking functions You can turn. And off Again you hold. It down until it goes green Just above. It here And then once you’ve done. You know you’re good to go And. What will happen is. It tracks you in real time On regular intervals. And your family can follow your trip from home See. You are see what you’re up to. And make sure everything’s okay Now we’ve said before about the fact. These are rechargeable batteries So you’ve obviously gotta be powering ’em up as. You go So a lot of people ask. You know How long the batteries run for? Now. It works harder you haven’t gotta full view of the sky So. If you’ve gotta full view of the sky. It runs for about 52 days On your tracking mode And about 13 days on your SOS If you’ve got a 50% view of the sky you’re looking at about 6 days for your SOS. And about 26 days on tracking So the SPOT Gen3 self tests All.

You need to do is turn. It will run a self test So. You don’t have to worry about. Any button anything like. That It’s all good to go Now. One comes with a 1-year warranty And it’s worth noting. This is a paid subscription service So unlike other PLB’s. Where it’s just rescue only ‘Cause of the extra functions you’d have to pay for. That You’ll find a little bit. More about the subscription service on SPOTs website Which is findmespotcom/gen3. Iwas saying before great little unit It’s nice and light It’s really quite robust It’s your standard PLB with. All the extra messaging features thrown in. It as well If this right. Now on our website It’s snowyscomau with fast free delivery to.

Most of Australia Until next time Happy Adventures (Upbeat Music continues).

Hi Chuck Holly from West marine. You know the leader in handheld GPS for about two decades has been Gamin. And today we’ve got Gamin’s newest handheld GPS. This is really a wonderful product. This is the GPS map 78 SC. It has a ton of features but there’s. One I’d like to share a little story with. You before we talk about the features. One of the things you’ll notice about. This model is that the display is on the bottom. And the keys are at the top. This actually was the result of a Thanksgiving miracle. One of the founders of Gamin Gary Burr ell was shaving before Thanksgiving and. He was trying to figure out. How to come up with a great design for the next generation of handheld GPS. This is in 1993 he was holding his shaver in his hand. He realized that his thumb was up at the top of the shaver but.

He could see down here so. He came up with the idea of putting the display at the bottom. And the keys at the top. And that’s been a staple of the Gamin design team ever since the model we’ve got today is the GPS map 78s see. This model in addition to having a high resolution beautiful daylight readable color display also has a wasp receiver with 12 channels so. It gets fixes very quickly. And very accurately in addition. It has a barometer in. That in addition to measuring it’s at the atmospheric pressure. And knowing how the altitude using the GPS. It can also measure. It directly use the barometric sensor. It has a three axis compass so. Something most GPS s can’t do which is.

When you’re stationary. You rotate it will actually point in the right direction. It knows the direction. It has the compass built into. It in addition it has blue chart charts of the entire coastal United States so there’s no chart cartridges to buy. If you’re a coastal boater. You can take this form. We are in the middle of California Coast. All the way over to Florida up to New England. Any place in between as long as you’re on the coast. And you’ll get the high-quality Gamin blue chart charts. All the rest of the normal features. That you’d expect tons of routes. And easy to use user interface. And be adapted for your specific needs. It has about 20 different pages of information. You can select between but. Us won’t use them for example I’m a sailor. Idon’t do any geocaching so. Idon’t have to look at the geocaching page but. You are a geocache sure. You can put that in the rotation so.

You can set it up exactly the way. You want I mentioned. It has coastal charts in addition. It has a chart slot so. You can bring in garments microSD charts. And slide them in place. This will allow you to do City navigation. It will allow you to do inland navigation. Even international navigation so you’re not stuck with the charts. It comes with although they’re fantastic. You can add any number of different chart cartridges to. You want inside the back. It has two double-a batteries which are. Both inexpensive they last for over 24 hours so. You don’t have to worry about replacing batteries. All the time it also comes with a USB cable so. You can use it off external power so. This compact unit not only is waterproof as you’d expect but. It also floats so you drop. It overboard accidentally. Though it’s small it might be a little hard to find it’s not going to sink to the bottom it’s going to stay on the surface so.

You can use it the GPS map 78s Sea has a number of different modes. Or profiles you can use so. Though it’s very comprehensive. You can set it up exactly the way. You want you can always choose between different profiles for example. Whether you’re navigating or you’re going geocaching or you’re doing land-based. Or water based activities. You have the choice of these various profiles which will get. It very closes to being set up the way. You would want it to be set up for those activities. One of the differences between. This unit and its predecessor the GPS maps 76 is. That it’s got some nice new software. Now I’ve loaded this up with bat basically every screen. You can put into we push the page key. We can walk through. These for example here’s the elevation plot screen. And I’m just going to talk through. These as I push there’s a geocache scene screen there’s a hunting and fishing screen.

That tells when it’s appropriate to the best times to go hunting or fish there’s a profile change screen. That allows you to change between the profiles. We mentioned proximity alarm. This allows you to set an alarm around a particular dangerous spot. It warns you get close to. This gives you your standard satellite page. You can see that sitting out here we’ve got about nine. Or ten satellites with great signal strength. We can actually share our information wirelessly with other Gamin units. That use their wireless protocol so. Ican share my waypoints. And my routes and other information without having to connect the two items together with a cable.

This is called sight. This is the ability. You can point at a distant object. It gives you an idea of the right direction. You can follow that direction. This is a stopwatch function which has lots of different things for lap times. And split times and so forth. This is a calculator which tells. You with a moon phase the moon rise. And the Sun rise and set for any day of the year. This allows you to manage your tracks so. You can have stored tracks of favorite routes. That you’ve taken you want to get a super accurate Waypoint. You can leave the GPS map 78s C in. One place it will average a series of fixes. And come up with the. Most accurate fix possible. And so forth so it goes on.

And on here’s a trip computer so. That as you’re driving you can measure your maximum speed your average speed. How much time you spend at stoplights. How much time you spend underway here’s a route planner. That allows you to create routes which are a series of waypoints. You can navigate this is and there’s no active route currently but. This allows me to see. What my active route is. One set up there and so forth the GPS map 78s see the other GPS 78 models. And the whole Gamin line is of course available at west Marine you.

Hi Chuck Holly from West marine. You know one of the. Most successful products. That West’s brain has ever sold was the GPS map 76. This popular handheld GPS was sold for many years but. Now there’s a successor the Gamin GPS map 78 like the 76. It floats it has a beautiful color daylight readable display. And it’s a cartographic GPS so it’s ideal for marine uses. It also works well for other applications like hiking fishing hunting geocaching all. That software’s built into. It but for example if you’re a sailor. You want to simplify the screens. You can eliminate some of the land-based scene screens. You don’t want to see. It comes with a complete nationwide base map for more accuracy in your navigation in coastal waters. And the Bahamas and Western Canada. You can add a single micro SD card for a very reasonable price. That will give you detailed cartography on. All the coastal United States. One of the easiest to use. Most functional GPS navigators on the market we’ve liked. Because it’s had a sterling reputation for our customers. We know you’ll like. It as well the Gamin GPS map 78 is available across the country in. All of our 300 stores. And online at West Marine com.

Ineed to need I need to connect the TPS to send the kyoki’s information to TPS.

Hi it’s John here from GPS training what we do. This short review is look at the eat Rick’s touch 25. We need clean our classes as the new generation of GPS unit. Because the technology’s moved on. And we’ve got some really quite smart features within. These new units so start off what’s the difference in the 25. And 35 is the 35 get a lot better connectivity so actually. You can put cadence sensors on. You can put temperature sensors on wirelessly connect to the GPS. And also you get altimeter. That works off the air pressure. These units they’ll come with an electronic compass a tradition with a Gamin GPS unit the better. One only has the electronic compass but in. This case both come with a GPS unit so actually there’s not. That much difference between the two units so why do. It a new generation GPS unit is. Because the Trax Touch comes with profiles is a multi activity GPS unit so. We set them up differently. We can set up each of those profiles differently. You switch the unit is. You want to do today. You can select cycling or walking and. It could display different maps. It can display different routing options so.

These units now get bundled with. One to 50000 Ordnance Survey mapping buts. They also come with a topo active mapping which the rootball mapping. They come from Gamin so. When I’m cycling I would set up my top active mapping when I’m walking I’ll use my auto on. And survey mapping don’t worry about. This up before it leaves. Us here at GPS training we really like. This unit it’s a really nice touchscreen unit therefore user-friendly. That learnt a lot from the Oregon 600 range. And previous range so things like the map screen automatic locks. You don’t accidentally touch. It’s very intuitive it’s very user-friendly. Because its new generation automatic reset the unit at the star so. You don’t have to go through. That procedure do with. Some old Oregon’s so overall. We really like this unit it’s a good entry-level GPS units blotchy. It is its great value for money so why we should buy.

These GPS units from GPS training we’re not just going to sell. This GPS unit we’re going to train. You to use it in with the price. You get two free webinars. You get access we’ll call an online resource which is full of training videos teaching how to use. It so don’t hesitate get in touch have a look on our website. We can talk you through the options available new tricks to 25.

Hey guys I’m kind of excited today I’ve made two videos. This is my second video so. You guys at one point. Iwas going to tell. All about my Gamin etrex touch 25. It comes the for the. Most part the instructions are online. Idon’t do that kind of so. Iended up just opening it up. And playing around it figured out for the. Most part this thing I really love. This thing um I’ve taken. It ATVing I’ve taken a camping my only problem is. Iforget I don’t use. It as often as I should. Or Rid yeah but at any rate my husband got. It for me a couple years ago. And I’m really I keep forgetting. Ihaven’t I keep forgetting to use. Ikeep forgetting to bring it with. Me but the reason why he bought. It for me for Christmas is. Iam always out in the back country. What I call the back country with kids so it’s not really. That back maybe it’s like the side country there. You go I’m out in the mountains I’m hiking playing around going for drives. Even a god I love going for drives. Even have to get out of the vehicle just give. Some snacks water full tank of gas good off-road vehicle. And I’m happy in fact. One of my birthday one of the things. Iwanted to do for my birthday in November was to go out on.

Some dirt road and just go play on. Some dirt road go find out. It goes that’s what I’ve always wanted to do so just. This past summer even the summer before. We see the summer before. Iwas pregnant, so I really tried to stay in town but. Itook my cousin’s a couple of my cousins who are about my age. And my mom to all take little day trip. And we’d go out in the side country um but. It was a kick in pants so my husband got. One of these, so I don’t get lost mighty kind him so. Iam going to walk you through. Ipersonally have it set up. And we’ll go from there so here. We sit on line my dirty nasty table.

Or in the middle of cleaning and getting it refinished. All right so here’s the on button turn. It on it does take a minute. This little thing I got online. It on Amazon I don’t remember the name of. It but doesn’t matter nice little carrying package little carrying thing now the problem. Where Gamin gets their money is. You have to buy these little oh. These guys right here Maps topo. Us topo maps whatever. You want to call them there’s two there’s. One for the country there’s. One for the city so well driving so. This is my driving one. One little disc the. Ihave in there I constantly have in there is the back country. Now you’ve got like. All of these fancy little things. And biking tour cycling blah blah right.

Idon’t really do a lot of. That stuff but Center. One oh yeah now nice little compass. You can start your trekking okay. You can go home some stuff change your dashboard. Idon’t know I don’t really play into. This too much so I’m gonna. Iwant to go home I don’t want to start. Anything so you can set up your display your parents your routing your tones so on. And so forth there’s. You can do search waypoints. Ifound kind of funky. Because watch this geo points let’s say water features okay so. Some of these are some of them. You can go find them. And it’s its its kind of fun but like the lateral ones are.

They are like quicksand ditches. And canals some of them aren’t. Even around you can’t find them but. What I do my main function is. This oh okay set them back down on the table there so. You can make it dark but I’m I’m getting older so. Ilike to make it bright so. You can mark your waypoints. You can get your compass. And your waypoints or basically like a little point. You stop in your travels so let’s say you’re out on a trail. You see a really pretty stream a really pretty rock. You can mark your Waypoint. Ilove the maps and again. You can do your start. You can go into like your settings here’s your map set up but. Ipersonally I mean I’ve used. That before goes for geocaching I don’t really geocache, so I’m not into. That right now adventures no adventures found. You can go on to their website there’s your calendar hunting fish. You can learn about the Sun. And the moon like. When the sunrise when it’s the moon is setting or coming up sunset moon set.

And which leads to sunrise um. This thing even takes pictures but. Iam not exactly sure. How so um look at that there’s an alarm stopwatch. You can play on a calculator. While you’re figuring out your Waypoint no actually the calculator is really cool. You can calculate many miles. Even figure out how long it’s going to take to get. You there huntin and fishin interesting all right so the good times to go fishing best times. And the good times new location oh. That means I can let’s see. What this is Waypoint yeah cool a recent find ok so here’s. What you can do let’s say you’re traveling along. And boom you come into. This lake you can add. This particular huntin. And fishin section and then. You can come back to. It comes on buddy route planner see. Ihaven’t figured out. Everything, yet I still that’s the Waypoint manager right yep activity history that’s really neat. And your active route well. Because I’m not going anywhere.

Idon’t have an active route. It is a really fun little tool. Ihave every single time. Igo ATV I use the maps. That is so much fun. And then marking your waypoints. Idon’t use the camera. Ihave my own camera route planner I’ll see look at. You can create a route I’m not going anywhere so. And then your data screens. You can figure out you want your main screen. You can move and down. That fun stuff and look at. That you’re set up I highly recommend. Ireally do track manager was. That’s that says current activity. We don’t have any current activity going on was the satellite oh look at. That look all those satellites. That I’m pinging off of that’s cool oh. That is way cool sea. Ido love this thing yeah. These are geocaches. That blue arrow is those are.

All geocaches oops no stop hmm. Ihave no idea what any of. That means clear activity. We have we’re going to clear activity hello. It is a tough little thing tour so. Iwill see some of these. Iwould not use mountain biking shore but I’ve got kids with. Idon’t really mountain bike. That much fishing climbing I don’t really do a lot of rock climbing but. Ihike up mountains hills small mountains hiking biking to recycling yeah that’s fancy stuff. Ido fancy stuff I have fun to. Each their own at any rate. This is mostly the this screen right here. You can just up you hit your power button for. That screen that’s really the main screen. Iuse so and then also to takes a minute to shut. It down so the and I’ll show. You can run a string through there through. This little hole right there.

You can dangle it off of your pants shirt nope looks like. Ididn’t shut the back. All the way my only issue with. This guy is it takes up a lot of batteries. It just sucks them down like nobody’s business that’s really my only hiccup yeah. We gotta make sure that’s nice and tight in there. It looks like it is okay so that’s just your locking mechanism your lock. And Beall there. Now it’s locked fold. That down that’s you get into. This is a really fun little device. That I’m just a beginner on using this but. It is so freakin cool. It really is so another thing. Iwanted to show you guys were the booklets. It came with again a lot of. This is just like a getting started booklet there’s only a couple of pages.

Where it’s English and then. It starts off in other languages so. This is really just a getting starting getting started booklet. And then they refer. You to go online look at. That Quick Start manual boom but. Idon’t like reading instructions online that’s not. Iwork is using it there’s important safety. And product information but that’s. Imean there’s like a couple of pages. Where it’s English make sure. You get out your magnifying glass. Iagin as’ that is awfully small. And really it’s only like. One two pages that is three look at. And then it starts off in. Some other language so Quick Start Guide. And important safety. And product information. This video helps okay so. One of the reasons why I bought. This pouch it does go through so. Many batteries I’ve got batteries.

They are always carried extra batteries with. You no matter what but. Ialso carry my little disks in here. This one’s the city. It just fits in their just like so it’s kind of hard to do with. One hand but it’s near it’s got a lanyard it’s not waterproof which kind of sucks but that’s. All right you put in a pouch. Another a bigger pouch like a backpack. Something close and away. You go no what sucks is. These um these maps do not come with the Gamin. These little disks you got to buy them separately which. Idon’t know I that’s I’ve had. This thing for a while but. Icouldn’t use I didn’t have. One of the disks but. Iwas finally able to buy them. One disc in there it’s the back country disc. And then this one’s the city. Ialways carry that with. Me so yeah it thanks. You guys for watching this little machine is absolutely worth.

It yeah sure it is a little expensive but. It is worth it in the end. It is absolutely worth. It but thank you guys for watching okay so. Ijust showed I personally use my Gamin. It is a fun little tool. And it’s essential you go out. And about out in the woods. What if you’re an outdoorsy sort of person it’s a really good tool to have really fun little machine to have. Iplan on getting into hun. This next season I’m going to use. And I’m hopefully bag. Me a good deer whatever. Istart small and go with a deer but at. Any rate doesn’t matter. If you’re using it for hunting fishing whatever it’s just a really good little tool to have. Iam so happy he bought. It for me they are a little expensive. One is on the higher end. It fits in my hand hands not. That big I’m a chick so it’s not.

That big but I recommend in order to save batteries. Because my good lord. This thing sucks batteries like nobody’s business. Ithink I’ve ever said. You can set your way point your way mark. Whatever you do is. You want to call you can shut off your little machine. You can shut off your Gamin. And then you can keep on walking turn. It on turn it won’t lose your data. It won’t lose your way mark which is fantastic. Iam still a beginner at. This but I absolutely look forward to using it absolutely like I’m really excited about. It I’ve used and on -. And it’s just you have kids. And you’re toting the kids. And the dog and you’re by yourself. It kind of makes kind of makes things a little difficult.

You know you’ve got your hands full but. When you’re ATV and out with a couple of friends its fantastic. And then you know fishes. You just out hiking along but it’s a really fantastic tool. It I’m really happy. He bought it for me. Iwant to say they run anywhere from two to four hundred dollars. He bought one for like three ish three hundred dollars approximately. You gotta get a little the topo map discs there’s the city ones. And then there’s the outdoorsy ones. They look like this they’re a little expensive they’re about $99. Igot mine at Cabala’s. Ibought two so yeah you’re you’re looking at edit. All is said and done you’re looking at a decent amount of money. It kind of sucks but it’s well worth. It is well worth it thanks for watching guys hope.
