Simms VaporTread Boot – Women’s

Why fish in some heavy, gargantuan clodhopper of a wading boot when you can be comfortable in the Simms Women’s Vapor Boot instead? In the Vapor, Simms proves that durable doesn’t have to mean heavy. A women-specific fit and hiker-inspired design lets you get to the fish in speedy comfort, while the minimalist construction allows you to feel the river bottom for secure footing.

Simms built this puppy on its lightweight VaporTread platform, which means the boot is just as good for that mile-long trek to the river as it is for wading in the river. The Vapor sports a synthetic leather, textile, and scratch rubber upper that puts up with abuse, and the partial neoprene interior adds warmth and cushioning.

  • Women-specific last and fit

  • Welcome to the feather craft video series my name is tony fairy with sims fishing products today we’re going to talk about the vapor tread salt totally. Specific salt water wading boot starting. On the outsole we’re going to use a four millimeter thick vibram hydro grip this. Happens to be in a gum rubber color construction for a time you know no. Mark on your boat decks upper construction both combination of scratch. Rubber as well as a tpu coated nylon that we put the tpu coating nylon for. Extra foot protection specifically when you encounter array perhaps full neoprene lining allows for. Easy in and off both either whether. You’re barefoot or using a gravel guard or a neoprene wading soccer guard sock. Burly nylon heel pull for getting the. Boot on and off it’s a dual density eva a mid sole harder aba I’m the exterior. With a softer eba on their foot really. Provides that great underfoot experience greater feel ah. Anti-corrosion fully rust-proof metal. Hardware everything’s been treated so no worries. On breakage from rust the vapor tread. Salt comes in sizes 7 through 14 retails. For 199 thank you. You.

Paper boot is a really new way for us to. Think from our waiting booth construction standpoint we really challenged ourselves to create a much more lightweight experience underfoot but still retain all of what you expect. From sins waiting booth we’re featuring the vapor trade platform several components come together to create the vapor tread it’s this vibrant mega grip. Outsold so mega grip is a rubber. Compound that’s slip resistant and also has a ton of abrasion resistance so it’s a nice balanced rubber compound for. Trail and water it has proprioception. Which is ability to enhance what’s going. On underneath the foot and allows the bottom unit to articulate so you get this kind of flexible fit underfoot while you’re walking and that gets more. Rubber in contact with the ground and also gives more information to the foot. Super-lightweight components we minimize the bottom profile take all the weight out that you don’t need we did that by removing the full-length tpu plate and. So now an angler will just put in their cleats and studs and specific locations we went with a hiking top-line cut so. Much more of a hiker style upper design a good flex at the ball so a flex zone. Is really dialed so that the boot is. Working with your foot not against it while you’re walking down the trail this boot is perfect for helping anglers get. Into back country locations.

Hey how you do i just wanted to take. A minute finally and do a review of the sims. Vapor booth this is a booth that I’ve had for about well since it came out i. Guess about six or eight months now and. I’ve been really pleased with this food I’d say in that amount of time i probably put in something like a hundred. Days on the water and a hundred days in. This boot on the water and i really like the way it performs you know it’s really hard to come by boots that are ultralights that uh that withstand. Kind of test we put them through and also manufacturers don’t seem to be or. See the demand and ultra lights like they do in the heavier boots with the studs and the things that go with waders. And everything else you know this is a wet i use this for wet waiting and this. Size i can use it also with no socks or. Anything with my waders but you know. These guys also have the capability with the sole of actually driving your studs. In here if you need that kind of grip i determined that these were gonna be my pair without the studs, and they’ve done. Really well they’re holding up really well they have good attention to detail as simms always does and in workmanship. It’s a vibrant sole uppers in great. Shape and it’s just a really phenomenal boot that actually oh hello over. There we’ve got a visitor who doesn’t eat shoes so it’s a fun booth I’ll get. You some close-ups and do some more audio on this, and we’ll take a look at this boot real close-up yes we close up. You’re gonna be a star so for you guys. That are kind of new to the whole. Fly-fishing thing and needing your first pair of boots let me tell you right off the bat and one thing you want to carry with you at all times not literally on your body but at least in your car or with your gear that you leave in your car there’s an extra set of laces i was. Saying earlier that I’ve had these probably a hundred days on the water and. I can see right now i actually look at them real close that these laces are about ready to go now one thing that here let me show you these laces just thing see what I’m talking about down. Here where you put the most tension you get to also get the most friction wear and so these laces right here ready to go now one thing they did do that i really liked because they put this little hook right has a d-ring. Right in here and sewed it in that’s the hook your gravel guards on your waders. Too and take the friction off of the. Lace which is the way they used to do it i would get around that by putting it and you can do this if you got an old pair of boots you can put a piece of bicycle inner tube down here. Lace it in and then hook on to that and that’ll take that that wear off of the. Air but to do this and put that in their like that phenomenal that’s great. When you get down to the inside of these boots you can see that they’ve got a. Real tight-fitting lining in them of course it’s you know it’s kind of neoprene stuff and it’s really it’s there’s not coming loose anywhere it’s doing really well there the last pair of. Lightweight boots i had my sims had way. Too much man a materials on top and that. Material finally started cracking and crumbling is on one of their flats boots. That had a real good tread on it but it just didn’t hold up nearly as well as this boots holding up on the bottom of. Course you’ve got the sim between the sins the vibram sole which is a vibram. Is like the de facto best soles out there i can see now that I’m looking at these definitely put some wear on them and that’s just from probably a lot from the zebra mussels now which is. Something you got to consider they’re not slippery, but they’re definitely gonna take a toll on your boots and your. Bare feet and anything else you have that’s not protected so be very careful due to zebra mussels there are some. Still photos that go with this video in. The story so you might want to if you’re just looking at the video on youtube you might want to go back to the actual. Story on texas fly caster comm and look. At those photos that’s what some photos. Of these boots when they’re brand-new and of course they didn’t look anything like this for me I’ve got a fairly. Narrow or skinny foot it’s not really narrow it’s just skinny so the top is going to be gathered or and i also have you know fairly narrow heels too so what i did is i took. And you got it you have to make adjustments i took these guys right here and put these in the kind of take up some. Space and it adds a little cushioning to just spend ten bucks on these, and they aren’t going to wear out any faster than your shoes actually they’ll do quite well i was another thing you want to. Think about when you’re trying on boots at the store and i strongly suggested you get on if you’re in the north texas area you go to tail waters in dallas and. Check out their selection i was helping. A guy there the other day i think it was on friday, and he did the smart thing. He brought his own waders, and he brought his own home booties and socks and everything so that he could really check every which way that these the boots he was trying to and fit and that saved him a lot of heartache because if you get your size wrong in your boots and you bought them and you’ve worn them you think you can’t you know do anything about it and that can be painful like i. Me a painful thing so these are. The sins vapor boots I’m really satisfied with these we’re about six months in, and we’ll check again in about six more months and see what’s left of them i would imagine that they’ll be just about done and in six months time another photo that i have on that story. I’m on the texas fly caster side is of all the boots i have i just can’t bring myself to throw them away so anyway i hope you enjoyed this look at the sims boot and if you have any questions let. Me know just email me fly at texas black. Castor calm and I’ll be glad to answer your questions.

Patagonia Spring River Waders – Women’s

Designed for women by women, the Patagonia Women’s Spring River Waders herald the growth of females in fly-fishing. These sleek slate-gray waders don’t droop like your grandpa’s pants yet leave lots of room for layers when you’re hitting the rivers any time other than the height of summer. Whether you’re smaller than a lot of tweens, on par with a pro-cager center, or somewhere in between, Patagonia offers petite, full, and regular options so you can finely tune the fit for your physique.

Four layers of high-density polyester microfiber create a supple and tough shell. Nanosphere DWR works at the microscopic level for dramatically-increased water resistance that can be restored upon exposure to heat. The H2No Performance Standard laminate on the outside shuns water, while the hydrophilic interior laminate loves liquid and draws sweat away for dry fly fishing. The waist-mounted EZ-Lock suspenders have TPU slide-and-lock latches to secure the shoulder straps when you wade into the deep muddy, and they stash away when you only want pants. An adjustable elastic belt slips over your hips when you need to relieve yourself, yet stays in place so your bibs don’t bellow with excess water.

These convertible bib/pant waders are put together using single seam construction to minimize wear and maximize the lifespan of your angling outerwear. The 4mm neoprene booties are lined with merino wool for warmth without wetness on your ten little piggies. Two waterproof pockets, one inside and one out, let you take both a smartphone and small fly box with you. A fleece-lined kangaroo pouch pocket is soft and warm on your hands and provides easy access to tippet spools and nippers.

  • Hi we’ve been out on the south fork river today, and we’ve been phill’d testing the new claw rianesd removable insulation system for a couple of days as you can see it’s very cold here and this removable insulation system is. Coming in handy now the core is removable insulation system is multi. Zoned so what that means is in the lower part. Of the body we use a moisture resistant type of insulate insulation that provides more clove alyou or insulating. Value than standard base layers so typically you’ll find base layers, and they’ll be fleece on the bottom this type of insulation that we use is a lot. Warmer and very breathable as well the upper is a fleece which feels very nice and it really just takes about. Two minutes to install it the only thing you need to do is first of all lay your waiter and your liner down face up now. If you’ve got a standard system like the h5 which also comes with the liner in it for one model you’ll just unbuckle these. Front buckles if you’ve got a model like the asis that has the drop top suspension system that allows you to convert your waiter to a waist-high all you want to do is just reach around to the back of the waiter and unstrap this and throw your buckle straps cord then. Very simply all you do is reach inside. And pull one leg of your waiter inside. Out and what you’re gonna expose is some. Red and some green tabs and some black tabs and you’ll see some tabs on your liner that are all corresponding colors so what you want to do is take your black front snap and attach it to the. Front tab and then the green to the. Green. And then the red to the red and then the. Center-back snap black one then what you. Want to do is reach in to the other side of your waiter grab the other leg pull it inside out. And again attach the black front in. Place and then the green to the green. Red to the red and the center black. Right and then to be able to pull that the liner inside of the waiter all you do is reach up inside grab your stocking foot and pull your waiter right side out. And what this does is it just sucks the waiter liner right inside the waiter and. Then what you want to do is come around to the front side of your waiter right under the flap that flips out over here. Your internal storage pocket you’ll see a zipper and another zipper under a flap on the inside of the waiter just put. Those dippers together just like you would putting together any jacket and. Then on the other side you’ll flip it up. On the left side and you’ll see a zipper. On the inside of the waiter get together like you would any typical jacket your. Waiter liner is installed flip your. Internal storage pocket inside out and if you’ve got the drop top suspension system just reach around use the hook. And loop on the back to snap it in place and your waiter liner is ready to go so. Next time you’re at your local pro shop ask about the new core i and that’s removable insulation system and you can. Install it in any one of the hodgman waders that has cora ns labeled on the. Inside of the waiter.
