In this video, we’re gonna take a look at the new Reddington zero fly reel. This is a very unique new reel from Reddington. It is a cast reel and what they’re able to do was really accomplish some things that you cannot do with a machined reel. You can see this intricate casting here, there’s a lot of empty space in this reel, which makes it very very light which makes it the lightest reel in its class, which is exactly what Reddington was going for now.

There is something a little different about this reel. You can see here, there’s no drag knob. It uses a spring kind of impaul drag system, so it just uses the tension of that metal clicker to kind of act as just enough tension or drag so the real does not free spool. You can also see how thin that spindle is as well. They really shaved weight and every kind of little possible milk and cranny they could on this reel, but very unique sounding real.

You can hear it there. It sounds very hollow without any fly line on it once you actually load it with some fly line. It has a very different, unique sound. Another neat thing: is they have these little rubber molded pieces, a grips kind of in that real handle they’re very unique, something a lot of other real companies are not doing, but very very nice. Little reel, they run about 100 bucks, a little less than a hundred bucks I.

Think they’re, like 89 95, there’s a couple sizes. This is the four five size I believe, there’s also like a 3/4 size, which is just a little smaller but very, very cool. Little reel extremely light great for your little creek rods, your fiberglass just a little tiny fun reel for brook trout, cutthroat, trout, and that is the Reddington zero fly reel. You.

I’m Joe from red fly shop and I’m down in our distribution center here in the basement of Rennes and I’m doing a little box opening party on the Reddington zero fly rail, so the Reddington zero fly reel is designed to be a very lightweight basic fly reel. That’s perfect for your trout. Fishing I’ve got the size two three here which is perfect for two to three weight rods: small screen fishing and then I’ve got the four or five in the sand.

Color right here, that’s perfect for your four and five weight rods. So I’m going to give you up close look at this because the box that they come in and a nice real cover as well. The price on these is 89, 95 and I’m. Going to give you a good look at that real just like that right. There is what it sounds like when you’re reeling in and sounds like when the fish is running out. So I want to explain what makes this real, so cost effective in general real systems.

A lot of what you’re paying for is going to go into the drag system on the Reddington zero. This reel is designed for small game fishing, crawl fishing I. What ends up happening is you end up spending your money on the design and the alloy and not much on direct. This is a simple, quick paul system, so there really isn’t effectively no drag system there’s just enough to prevent it from back lashing cool thing about a clip Paul reel is when you do get a fish, it runs.

You take fight to take five, your own hands. So what you do is you end up homing the exposed rim here, adding a little bit of drag system and what ends up happening? Is you get a fantastic reel for 89 bucks because you’re not putting money into the drag system, which is something that most small stream fishermen are going to need? Anyways a couple of things that jump out at me on the Reddington arrow I, like the spool, how its ported so that allows line to dry, makes it ultra lightweight it’s the lightest reel in its class by far I, like that, the the reel handle here has a little rubber grip.

I. Think that’s kind of nice makes it a little bit tacky. It’s got a good feel to it in general was not very open out very long, but we’re seeing great customer satisfaction with that. We haven’t had any problems or returns or anything. So that’s the Reddington Xero makes a fabulous small stream, trout, real great click and Paul drain system.

Fly reel, this one is a two three right there, I love this real I’ve heard a lot of people talking about. Oh, it doesn’t have a drag on it. Well, yes, but this is a tiny little real, for you know, tops maybe a 15 inch rainbow. That’s tops if you can’t put your hand on here or stop the line. With your other hand, you shouldn’t be fly-fishing and your wussy dildo. Anybody that doesn’t think that comment down below tell me about it.

Come over. There show you anyways. The zero is I’ll say what this is. The one I carry when I’m fishing. You know walking a long ways. It’s her again, Oh get out of here. Jeez. Sorry about that. That’s my buddy yeah this is it it’s a it’s a great real I love it. It’s just simplicity. You know it’s there’s, just nothing! I really can go wrong with this thing. Just push the button in the middle there school comes off, I mean it is, there’s really nothing wrong.

We can go wrong with this thing. It is just I love, it I fell in love with it and I’ll. Tell you another thing: man, it’s not super expensive. They got paid we’re gonna pay for this. One I think 110 and I got had a little bit. You I know you can get them for cheaper, especially now, but I’ll tell you what, if you have the chance you wanna spend a billion dollars, go down, get you one of these. Is this thing’s awesome Cheers.

Think this is the best real under $100 you can buy today. It’s a Reddington zero, so I have the two three here that I’ve been using on my to weight. Really nice lightweight, real and I went again and picked up the four five for my five weight. So I want to kind of show that off so in the Box, you get just a little overview of the owner’s manual, the care and maintenance, and then you get your real as what a nice pouch and here’s the four five.

So what makes this real? Really cool? Is it’s a click and paw? So it’s super simple. It’s I think they’re like 89 bucks and it’s never failed me and they’re super easy to use in a super lightweight, so pretty cool, looking real lots of machined out pieces on here, but for a spore release. You just press this button here in the middle. This bowl comes out and then you’ve got your click and costume in here.

So you can actually reverse it from left hand retrieve to right hand retrieve right now, I have it on right hand, but there’s no drag on this. Real I mean you can see, it goes in, there’s not much to it and it’s not much to fail. So if you hear the sound, this is the incoming and the outgoing a little more pressure on the outgoing. So it’s not a drag, but it’ll put some tension on there, but it’s pretty smooth, but for under a hundred bucks I, don’t think you can go wrong with this real again.

This is the four five. Here’s, the two three and I think if you’re going for a super, dependable lightweight, easy to use real for trout, fishing, I, don’t think you can beat these. Hey I’m Jeff from avid max and today I’ve got the Reddington zero fly reel with me. It’s a pretty cool fly reel that has a few different features about it. That I just wanted to show you real, quick, first thing: you’re gonna notice, when you pick this fly reel up, is just how lightweight it is. It really doesn’t feel like there’s, hardly anything in your hand as you’re holding this.

It’s also a little bit different, maybe than some of the traditional fly reels that you’re used to and that it doesn’t have kind of that traditional drag system. So this is called a click and Paul system means, as you hear it coming in here. It doesn’t have kind of that. You know button on the side that you’re gonna turn the drag up or down instead you’re just going to use your hand as that fish is running and slow the reel down a little bit like that.

It also has a quick-change spool on it. That is really easy to come on and off. So if you’ve got a couple of different types of lines, whether you use you know floating part of the time and sinking and just grab an extra spool for this and you’ll be able to throw them on there pretty quick and easy. It’s also set up real easy so that you can go from a right hand, retrieve to a left hand retrieve or back again, just whatever makes it easiest for you.

We also know that some people are concerned with the the sound of the click, so we wanted to be able to demonstrate that, for you a little bit so here’s the sound of the retrieved click and then a little bit harder to recreate is the sound of kind of the line going out as well. So this this reel comes in two different colors. We’ve got our sand model here, as well as the black.

Both of them are going to come with a nice case that you can just kind of keep over the the reel to keep it and drape shape, protect it from the elements a little bit and as with most of reddington’s products. Hey I’m Jeff from avid max and today I’ve got the Reddington rise fly reel with me. It is their premium fly reel and it’s got a lot of really great features that we wanted to show you about. It is a fully machined aluminum fly reel and also has a really nice carbon fiber drag system on it as well one of the things you’re going to notice as soon as you pick this up, though, it’s just kind of how good it feels in your hands.

It’s got a great handle there on the side, and it also has a really easy to remove spool on there as well, so in case you’re, one of those people that have a few different types of lines, and you want to keep them on different spools. You can do that and swap them out real easy. It’s also pretty easy to convert these from a right hand, retrieved to a left hand retrieve so that you can set it up. However, works best for you as you look at it as well, you’re going to notice it that it has a much larger than usual arbor right here and that’s gonna.

Give you a couple of added benefits, one of the first things that you’re gonna notice about it, as you start playing with it in real a minute, unlike that, is that it’s gonna provide with a much faster retrieval speed. Just the fact that it’s wound a little bit higher up. There means, as you’re, pulling that fish in or just pulling in some some regular line there. It’s gonna come in a lot quicker, also as you’re stripping your line out there you’re gonna notice that there’s not gonna be nearly as much memory and it’s not gonna be spooling up kind of in front of there nearly as much with a reel like this either.

One of the things I like here on the side is just how big the drag system is on the side here. So it’s really easy to turn. It’s got a pretty grippy outside to it. So, even when it gets a little bit, wet you’re still gonna be able to reach it and use it really easily there and the thing about it being a little bit bigger is that it’s gonna be really easy to adjust kind of on the go. So if you’ve, just reeled in a monster fish and the next one that you hook into is a lot smaller you’re going to be able to real, quick, just kind of on the fly turn that in a little bit too, to use this drag system really nice, no matter what size fish you’ve got on the line there.

It comes in a few different sizes as well as colors, so you can get it sized anywhere from a size, four, all the way up to a ten, and we have a couple of different colors here. This is the amber. We also have the / and the black and also comes in a new olive color, as well as with most of the Reddington products. It also has a lifetime warranty, which is great, and it has a nice little nylon case here as well, just to throw it on.

After you take it off your rod there to keep it protected from the elements just a little bit on all the Reddington rise fly reel is a great reel. It is top of the line and has a lot of really cool features. You’re.
