Gear comm and today we’re gonna be looking at some of the glasses accessories that we recently picked up towards the Middle’s end of summer. We got these in, but these are the chums they’re, the eyewear retainer. So basically how these work is. You would slip the ends of these onto your glasses sunglasses, reading glasses, really whatever, and then they go around your head so that if your glasses were to fall off, these would hang around your neck and you wouldn’t end up losing them.
So there’s a couple of different options. You have here this one, it’s just an adjustable headband, it’s a really thin wire on it and it just easily you know, can adjust to small or large, depending on the size of your head, it’s adjusted from 10 inches to 16 and a half, so you can cinch your glasses down really close to your head or you know loosen it up a little bit and then this one here is just a plain cotton with an adjustable loop on it right there.
So again, you could make it as close or as tight as you want to and the great things about the chums accessories is they come in lots of really fun prints, so this one’s a little bit more girly with the flower pattern on it, but there’s everything from just your solid colors to bright and fun prints. This one is basically the same thing: it’s just made of a neoprene material. It has a little bit of reflector reflective pattern on it and then last and this one is probably the most important if you’re going to be out on the water.
You do a lot of kayaking rafting boating, but this is the floating neoprene, I, wear, retainer and again simple, just slips onto the end of your glasses here and then, if this were to fall off its gonna float in the water, which is super helpful. If you’re going to be doing any kind of rafting because you could easily have your glasses fall off of your head. Okay, I’m here today to talk about cables. I saw this came out in 2009, I started, ICAST works pretty well. You put basically put this on the back of your glasses, just like that. You supposed to wet it or something with hand, sanitizer and so on and so forth. It uh holds pretty good, holds pretty good and it’s you know about. Twelve bucks does pretty well, it’s been doing really well. These are pretty good people to work with as well cables. Of course, after the success of cables, there’s people making other products- and here is a one made by chums same concept.
You know maybe a little tag here with the two, a penguin for for the chums people. The the different. The main difference between here is that the cables is round and just it’s flat so tend to go on a little little easier on a lot of glasses, same concept, hand, sanitizer or I- probably just use spit to actually can get it on there kind of thing, so it works pretty good as well. Now the new thing that just came out, it’s called the orbiter, the orbiter okay, which is this one right here- same concept, steel or mono, but the difference is is adjustable a lot of times.
You can put it on here right there same concept except for the adjustability. What happened with a lot of these uh solid I, wear retainer is that they stick out like this. So if you’re wearing like a hoodie or something like that, you, the hoodie, tends to push the glasses forward and the glasses fall over. So this one, you adjust exactly to fit your head and you won’t have that issue anymore, so something new and all these run about ten bucks. You know and uh. It works pretty good – hope it doesn’t stink, it doesn’t absorb odor and it works yeah fairly.
