They are considerably heavier than overworks, but at that size, that’s expected get a solid tripod for these entry-level ones will not do.

Now then, the real question: how good are they well I’ve, got to say: I am very impressed. They give a very nice clear and crisp image, and these lovely big, 18, millimeter, objective lenses at the front, certainly gather in an awful lot of light. So you see plenty more stars and with the naked eye and give you a rough example.

If I look at the Ryan’s belts, I can normally see the three or maybe a fourth star, on a very clear light through these from semi light, polluted areas, I’m normally picking up about sixty to seventy stars in the same area and I’m, very, very good conditions and very dark sky I’ve been able to see well over 100 stars of them.

Welcome to another episode of what the hell where big lens is king. So today I’ve got a sky master, celestron 25 by 100, binoculars I’ve always wanted one and I finally got got one. This binocular is pretty heavy at just under 9 pounds, so you definitely do not want to be hand holding this for very long. If at all, you definitely need a tripod with this, and it does come with a tripod mount which you just screw onto your tripod head, try not to get on camera.

So it’s a standard, quarter-inch screwed right there. It’s huge it’s I’m, having trouble handling this so huge that barely fits my table. So four quick specs, this one. It has 100 millimeters of multi coated aperture three degrees of angle of view, with an exit pupil of four millimeters and I relief of 15 millimeters prism is back four, which is good. The sky master body is constructed of all aluminum, with exterior made of black textured vinyl and according to spec, it is waterproof.

I, normally wear eyeglasses and I found a 15 millimeter I relief to be just acceptable. I would have preferred a longer eye relief, but it’s okay, focusing is a bit cumbersome as you have to adjust individual eyepieces. All the time. I would have preferred to have a central focus knob, so this is not ideal for terrestrial viewing, where you have to change focus constantly and you have to adjust individual eyepieces independently of each other.

A system like this is more ideal for for astronomy, where you just set the focus to infinity, and then you can forget about it. The fully coated lenses allow a ton of light and is a real advantage, especially at night, where you need it most top that off with the stereoscopic view, and everything just seems to come into place, there’s something about seeing with both eyes. That makes everything look so much more detailed I can view the moon with my 4 5 inch telescope and be amazed, but once I switch over to the binoculars I’m double amazed, I was able to spot the faint Andromeda galaxy with ease.

I didn’t see any details. It was still a faint fuzzy blob in the sky, but it was certainly brighter than when I viewed it with my 25 millimeter binocular, the Orion Nebula was also a nice target. Generally bright stars were pinpoints, but with chromatic aberrations as expected, daylight viewing performance was average generally I found the image to be rather soft, with chromatic aberrations along the edges of bright objects and compound that, with the dual focusing eyepieces, it makes it harder to focus precisely for those just starting out in astronomy.

I would definitely recommend this binocular, perhaps getting just first instead of a telescope. Viewing with two eyes is so much easier than squinting and viewing with one eye. If you’re not used to viewing with one eye, you may get discouraged with astronomy when viewing with both eyes. You are much more at ease and able to pay attention to what you’re actually looking at. If you only have a telescope, then you’re missing out on some great views, so I would still suggest that you get this binocular as part of your sky viewing arsenal, and on that note, I will see you guys.
