On here it's got a killer color i really one of the things i like about it most is the color it is their sweater down. Vest it's made with 800 goose down feel. 800 you know goose feel whatever you want to call it and a couple other. Things that i like about it has a durable water repellent finish on the. Outside that's water repellent and wind resistant so you're not as concerned about jumping out of the tent at night when it's drizzling or coming from your. Truck to the slopes when it's snowing i. Really like to wear it underneath my soft shell if it's real cold outside i put it under my soft shell from in the back country or from I'm snowboarding or riding or skiing obviously it's great to. Wear it around town when it's cold below freezing when it's windy I'm a big fan. Of it because i don't really like to wear sleeves unless it's just really cold outside I'll just put this vest on. And it keeps my core warm yet I'm not. Too hot one thing that I've noticed as I've worn this the past month anywhere from 20 degrees upwards to 4045. Degrees and wind is that the temperature range it keeps my temperature at a nice. Medium so i can be outside and then go. Inside and don't have to take it off so it adjusts real nicely i don't know if that's just they made it that way or I'm just dreaming that but that's another reason that I've enjoyed wearing the vest the colors cool the repellent finish the school got pockets here one other neat thing that it does is it packs into itself and let's see if i can show you that real quick. You just hang with me it's got a pocket. On the inside you can see that they'll. Pack right into itself so you just. Start stuffing this dude into itself. Like this and obviously it's down so it. Packs down very small. Most of these down vest have some sort. Of pocket that will pack itself down. Into it and as does patagonia so packs. Down real small hang with me here guys. So i get it down into itself and that's. All she wrote back down into its own. Pocket almost got it. Okay I'm gonna have to put fast-forward. On the video on this and there it is packs right down to its own little. Pocket about the size of a hand the one with no finger and us to have a little d. Clip here so you can clip it on the outside of whatever stuff it down in your pack so cool features repellent. Finish really like the color it's real sharp it's real good with regulating your temperature that I've noticed from anywhere from 20 degrees to 60 degrees. To going in and out of a vehicle or going in and out of your tent it's as well. Like you're just wearing a sleeping bag so it's so comfy real company and cozy i. Really like that aspect of it anyway. So lots of positive features about the only negative that i could pick out is that for me for my size this is a medium. We have a very big guy but you know it's its a little bit large around my girth. Area but for just kicking around town i. Think that's the only negative I've come up with i would like to see it fit just a little bit tighter maybe i just need a small so I'll make sure it fits you right but this size for me I'm diggin it so the patagonia sweater vest i thought sweater vest all the vests I'm gonna give this a solid seven. Pillow it's easy to attach it to a harness if you're climbing and need a layer at the belay or anything like that you can certainly stow this away and keep it nice and compact some features. To enhance the fit include elastic. Around the cuffs of the jacket so that'll help to keep it snug around the wrist without being too tight keeps the. Cold air out keeps the warm insulation in there is a hem draw cord as well so. You can certainly cinch this down around the waist prevent it from riding up if you are wearing a backpack or a climbing hard i'm wearing a medium here the fit is fairly regular i've got some room to layer underneath could easily throw a weatherproof shell on top so it's definitely a good layering option or you. Can wear it alone on a cooler day if. You're going downtown certainly blocks the wind and creates a lot of good insulation there as well and there you have it a great outerwear. Reason they've used the thinner fleece on the pan is just for increased. Dexterity so you haven't got a big water fleas between your hand and whatever you. It is you're trying to hold it also the palm of your hands sweat a bit more than. The rest of your or sweats more than the back of hand so the lighter form of. Insulation there are looks well as you. Can see i gave a really good fit and. Clear just the cuff just 104 just to. Give a nice snug fit around it these are. A really good book i really do like this. For well anything wet and cold they are. Up perfect tribal them just at the start. This year for winter and I've used them. For this winter I'm not too concerned. About the durability of them because. They are a really well-known really highly regarded gloves so I'm sure they're going to last me a long time but i just thought yeah I've got some. Reinforced new-school hook and loop velcro cuff incredibly warm incredibly. Comfortable these would be for me good. Down to zero degrees touring as long as I'm moving quickly my hands will stay incredibly warm in these rolled fingers throughout for added dexterity because they are a little bit thicker of a glove wonderful design by mountain equipment. Feeling on the inside very warm, and they bond it inside there so when you pull your hand out the lining doesn't move around your hands so when other gloves are a soggy mess and are difficult to get off these will slide on and off with ease many times the grey portion here is a nice nylon material and the back is a stretch panel so the glove will move and articulate very nicely this is a cowhide. Leather palm not the tarts this is gonna be very durable for the guy so I'm doing a lot of belays just a very tough leather glove rolled fingers for added dexterity and then give you a little extra leather on the tips of the fingers which decrease dexterity a little bit but increased durability if you're having to grab rocks or anything like that while you're climbing or using ski poles snot wipe on the bottom of the. Of neoprene just to add a little bit of comfort in the cuff and I'm gonna pull these out here to show you how they fit. The gloves fit absolutely wonderfully. Right here looking at these petard soiltac palm there's a little bit of texture to it as well as just the adjust. The goatskin there it's incredibly dexterous due to the three part thumb. Design right here so kind of it's a they called snap wipe right here as well. A little bit softer and the thumb is built in three places so it has this roll tip finger so when you go to grab a carabiner you can actually feel the nose. Feel the gate feel the screw part in your fingers incredibly dexterous a little bit of durability here in case the rope goes over your hand just for long repels blaze things like that mountain equipment does something that I've never seen another company do they take a lot of time and attention building their stuff instead of having a tie safe mountain equipment in one piece. They actually a separate mountain and equipment on the left and right gloves i just thought that was kind of interesting wind stopper across the back. hi there it's georgia and Clyde from the. Outdoor and today we're out looking at the north face jacket range now with it. Being the autumn winter time of year we're out there looking for insulated. Jackets that are going to keep us warm when we're out walking or doing our outdoor activity and the north face thermal fits the bill so the north face. Thermoball jacket is insulated by. Primaloft now this has the same loft as. Down but it is a synthetic material so. This means that even if it gets wet it. Will still retain its insulating ability. Now this is the latest version of north. Face thermoball jacket and it's. Different because rather than having a box baffle construction it's got what. They call a bottleneck construction so. If you can see you will show you that. Rather than it being boxed it kind of. Flows through so this gives a much greater consistency you don't have that kind of boxing which loses heat but there's a much greater consistency that follows through the outer fabric is a 15. D ripstop nylon so it's fairly tough and. Strong for when you're out and about. Maybe you're bashing it around while I'm in or something like that so the inside. Of the jacket then has a nylon taffeta. Design and construction and that means that you're going to be kept really warm with that primaloft insulation and now. I'm wearing the thermoball jacket and. Kleiss wearing the thermal pudding differences the jacket doesn't have a hood and it's quite a neat nifty design and the hoodie has the hood for those. Who wish to have a hood so both of the jackets have a slim fit. Design and this is so that when you're out being active you can feel the jacket. Against your body and it's not flapping about all over the place now to make this jacket adjustable to you. It has him pinch cords around the waist. There so you can actually tighten it up or loosen it makes sure that it's bit snug around to burn round your waist inside the internal cuffs now they're. Not on the end like you normally see they're actually hidden away inside the sleeves of this jacket and that gives. You extra wind protection now personally i don't know about Clyde but and if you've got a small skinny risk the elastic for me isn't quite enough but it. Does help that the fact that these cups are hidden away inside rather than being. On the outside so good to get your. Gloves in especially if you're out doing alpine trek or our point climate both. Jackets have a bit long centre front zip and that's just a one-way zip standard. There those jackets have two hand pockets to. The front and also on the inside there is an inner zip pocket for security. The jack is quite a thin construction as. You will see so this makes it ideal as a. Mid-layer so you can wear it as an outer layer to. Take that chill off if your be laying or out walking about but if you want to. Put it in your rucksack because of its thin construction it will easily fit into your rock sack it's not going to take up a major amount of room and it. Will fit comfortably under a hard shell to be as a mid layer the jacket is not. Waterproof but it is dwr treated so that. Means if you're out in a light shower. Misty weather something like that it will be and the water will run out but if it starts chucking it down you're. Going to get soaked this jacket then is. If you want to stow it away it does actually secure down into its own pocket. So you can pack it down if it does get absolutely drenched and you want to put it away because you're just getting cold and wet but you should stay warm with this jacket because of its insulation properties with the primaloft thermal. Offed synthetic insulation in there so. I'm an average women's size 10 and this jacket for me the slim fit quite nicely there's a bit of gift either all want to put hands up to the side so from reaching out stretching out doing climbing that's great it gives the extra cover that is needed it just come down a little bit this one over the bottom of. My bum which gives that protection there fits quite neatly now with the slim fit. For me as a woman it does feel quite slim but there is. Still, give and movement under the arms and around about the areas that you are going to need to move and stretch your. Body out so it's quite a nice fitting jacket a jacket from the north face. I'm wearing a medium-sized and as you can see it's quite a comfortable fit when you stretch out the arms do rise up a little bit the arms are not articulated but again maybe that's.
