  • This is the Gregory jade 38 litre women’s pack it is the perfect size for. Quick overnight trips or a long gear. Heavy day hikes it works for both. Because you can load it up to the gills with 35 pounds of gear or use the. Compression straps to convert it into a smaller pack when it’s not full the back. System is breathable so it’s ideal and. Hot humid climates and the shoulder straps adjust for the perfect fit let’s. Dig into how it carries the load this. Has a free float suspension system with open air ventilation the wire frame is. Made of alloy steel and fiberglass and. It is designed to move and flex with you as you hike there is a horizontal stay. To provide additional stability under the weight of a heavy load there’s also a frame sheet for additional lightweight rigidity the shoulder straps adjust up and down the frame and the pack comes in. Two torso sizes so you can find the perfect fit the foam and the shoulder. Straps and the hip belt is supportive and the major contact points on your. Lumbar area hip bones and the top of. Your shoulders are cushioned for comfort. Gregory’s 3d comfort cradle system hugs. Around your lower back to give even distribution of weight it lessens the. Chance of hot spots and makes a big difference when you’re carrying the pack all day long there are many accesses. Points into the pack body this is super helpful when you need to grab a piece of gear quickly and it makes packing and unpacking simpler the double zipper. Pulls let you position an opening wherever you want so virtually nothing in your pack is out of reach if you put. Both zipper sliders at the top you can open this whole panel with one motion. The attached lid has two pockets one up. Top that’s perfect for a first-aid kit and one underneath that houses the included rain cover for quick access there’s a hydration sleeve inside and a. Port to route the hose to the shoulder straps those are sold separately you can. Carry extra water on the side pockets and the stretchy panel in the front is a great place for your rain check the hip belt pockets are oversized for. Larger smartphones and there’s a convenient place to stash your sunglasses when you’re hiking in and out of trees there are compression straps. Bungees and two loops to attach gear like trekking poles or tent poles to the. Outside the areas of the pack that see. The most wear and tear are reinforced like a double layer of fabric on the bottom and an extra durable material on. The corners of the frame this is a great. Option for long day hikes or quick. Overnight backpacking trips it’s the Gregory jade 38 litre women’s. Pack for the full specs and latest price. Click the link in the description subscribe to stay tuned and follow us. For the latest in outdoor gear great deals and trail knowledge we’re the gear. Specialists at back country edge awesome. Gear amazing service see you on the. Trail.

Ready for a weekend of backpacking or extended trips if you’re packing light. The Gregory jade 53 litre women’s pack. Is perfectly balanced between light. Weight features and all of those other. Features that you’re looking for organization and a pack that’s going to. Carry a heavy load comfortably now. Unlike extended trip packs where they’ve. Got heavy features this has really. Stripped-down features lightweight materials those materials are also very durable and strong and the suspension. System here really gives you the ability. To carry the load so I’m going to turn the pack around and talk about the suspension system I’ve got Gregory’s cross flow dts suspension system and. Again it’s pretty lightweight it gives. You a lot of ventilation with this. Tension back panel you can see all of that mesh there and i can put my hand. Behind it so you know that you’ve got all the ventilation that you need behind the scenes there you can see a cross pattern for the frame that is a. Lightweight spring frame and what i like. About that is it gives the rigidity that you need in the pack to give stability and to transfer the weight of the load to your hips but it will move with you. Because it’s the cross pattern it will flex a little bit as you move so this pack doesn’t feel boxy it feels like as you move going up and down hill it’s. Going to move with you and then you as well. Have behind the scenes a hdpe frame sheet that gives rigidity to but it’s. Nice and lightweight now you have a va. Foam where you need it there on the lumbar pad it’s a really comfortable lumbar pad and then behind the shoulder. Straps you have die cut foam that foam. Keeps you comfortable and unlike lightweight or ultra light. Weight backpacks this foam gives you plenty of cushioning so really. Comfortable cushioning on the shoulders and a lot of cushioning on the hip belt and the hip belt does have a little bit of rigidity to it too so it definitely carries the load well now. Obviously you’ve got your load lifter straps up here that give you some adjust ability this comes in three different sizes so you can’t actually adjust the harness up and down but you. Can use the those load lifters to dial in the fit and just choose the. Particular size that’s right for your. Torso in addition to the adjust ability. There you do have an adjustable sternum straps you can move that up and down. While I’m on the back of the pack you do have a hydration sleeve inside the pack. You can route the hydration hose out through the middle here and you even. Have a little catch here for the hose on. This side now the hydration system itself isn’t included, but they do give. You this smaller pack this can be hung. Inside of the backpack as the sleeve for. Your hydration system but you can as well. Take it out and use it as a summit pack you’ve got really lightweight and stretchy straps here so those are comfortable the material here is nice. And lightweight so it doesn’t add a lot of weight to the actual pack but you can use this as a day pack if you’re just. Summoning a peak you can use this to. Take some stuff with you or if you’re traveling and you’re just going out for the day that you can throw some essentials in this pack there’s daisy chain attachments on the front a small zippered pocket there on. That pack so it’s a really nice feature. That again doesn’t add a lot of weight to the pack that adds a lot of value the. Pockets and organization are streamlined. And simple but it gives you all the. Organization you need on the front of the hip belt you have nice big pockets i. Can see these accommodating any size smartphone you can see this mesh pocket. Here stretches out really big you could put a small camera in there or something like that so really good size pockets. There and then on the lid you have the access into the. Back I’ve got a first aid kit in their so items you want to get your hands on quickly or lightweight items can be. Stored up there on the side of the pack. You have two very stretchy meshes pockets big enough to accommodate any size water. Bottle I’ve got a 32 ounce water bottle. In there and it fits well you’ve even got a compression strap on the front so you can compress that down and if you’re. Just going on an overnight or a short trip you’ve got compression straps all over this pack to make the load a little bit smaller you have a full-size lid here. And you can store lots of gear in there so then that gives you access into the. Body of the pack there’s even a small hidden pocket back here and that’s a. Great feature for travel you’ve got really easy access into the top of the pack with a nice big opening that’s. Really easy to use and i found that this. Pull handle is really nice as well so there’re little attentions to detail make. A big difference it’s all the access you need into that big pocket then you do. Have access in a couple more areas so. Something i really appreciate about this pack you have a nice big u-shaped zipper. Here where you can access all the gear. That you need that’s in the middle of your pack it’s tucked away back here so. It doesn’t add a lot of weight to the pack but as you can see i can open that. Up nice and wide almost like a piece of luggage and get to all the gear that’s in the middle of the pack so i can grab for whatever i need if you’re traveling. With this pack taking it overseas you can use it like that so really nice almost hidden pocket there. And then down on the bottom you have access into a sleeping bag compartment down there these zipper poles are so. Easy to use, and they make it nice and easy to get to the bottom now there is a. Divider in between the bottom and the. Middle of the pack but you can tuck that away if you need full access into the whole pack now also behind the scenes there is a. Hidden rain cover the rain cover is. Custom fit for the pack and it’s in its own designated pocket right here so rain cover matches the pack and it. Adds a lot of value so you don’t have to purchase a separate rain cover in the. Front a nice stretchy dump pocket too and then as you can see all over the. Front of this pack you’ve got two loops you’ve got straps here that you can. Attach a sleeping pad this is actually removable and you’ve got trekking pole bungees up here so there’s plenty of. Features here you can use this pack in a lot of different ways but all of those. Features don’t add a lot of weight to the pack, but they add a lot of organization and with all the features that you get here it’s a really great value it would work in a lot of. Different situations from a quick overnight to a weekend to traveling overseas it’s the Gregory jade 53 women’s. Backpack. You.

  • What is up Duroc here you first outdoors. Today i wanna do a quick little review a. Pretty sweet little daebak i like god it’s gonna be the deuter a ct trail 30. That’s right this little pack is quiet. Impressive actually i was kind of skeptical but i used it on a recent hike. And i was very impressed with it especially if it looks kind of small but. It held everything i needed it to hold. Which was surprising and it is very. Comfortable so I’m gonna go over a couple things with it and pack it out shows you how much it held for me and why. I think it’s a good pack for the money alright let’s take a good look at this thing first so pack is very light empty pack weighs. Out 2 pounds 10 ounces this is the acp. Trail 30 so it’s a 30 liter pack i was a. Little skeptical about the hip belt you know there’s no padding or anything like that now you gotta understand this is just add a pack so you can pack. It out really well but this really it did well and the padding here kind of. Leaves a space between your back so some. Air can flow through that and that seemed to work well it was a pretty hot day when we hiked up mount Trumbull. So i was very comfortable got some stuff i already used this pack once this is looking at the back the. Straps are adjustable here and then up. Top but you can’t adjust the back like. Port or so that’s pretty much you get. What you get flipping this over what i like about. This too is it’s got the little rain. Rain fly that will cover back here. Always like that i think that’s great in the packs no although i should try and. Put this all in the packs full up see what looks like they will do that to that’s cool that stuff back into there. You’ve got a one strap to lock the top. Down here and you’ve got some extra. Space on the front here to store some. Things and you can also store some. Things well that’s the side. Entrance there so that’s kind of windy. And you’ve got that on one side what you. Also have is the ability to just open. The entire pack from the top like that. So that’s kind of handy grab things out. Of there without having to go to the top and then there’s also the top pocket. Which you can store some things to get your key holder there and there’s also one more pockets isn’t there yeah inside. The top there you can cram some stuff in there as well. We’ve also got a little bit of knowledge. Right here you know alpine emergency by. You know singled aircraft all those things that’ll help you out if you get. And a pinch well it’s tough this thing. Our real quick alright so what you’re. Seeing here is the back fully loaded. Everything i like to carry on a day hike. And it seems to hold on then what i. Don’t have i don’t have stuff jammed in the top pockets or in this front pocket so those are still empty although I’m. Sure i could find something to put in their i like to pack a view so that’s just or lots of stuff that’s just how it. Rolls but we’re loaded you can see how. Now that holds up. Show you how fitz. Here we have it’s pretty good mmm. One thing i really like about this and i was kind of weird when i first put it on is like with the straps it belts I’m. Used to pulling back to tighten this one. They go pull front and it’s beautiful it. Looks great I’m you can just type down like that and i just think it’s so much easier to pull that away then this way that’s brilliant. Actually i think so that’s really cool also on the sternum strap it has this. Plastic thing that’s clipped on and it. Moves up fairly simple so you can adjust. Sternum strap pretty easy. Looking at this now that could pop off. Just pop out of there it doesn’t run. Through so that’s gonna happen i mean. It’s gonna happen this is gonna pop off. And i presume that you could pop it back on we’ll see but a cool little feature. But i think that yeah i know that’s. Gonna pop off sometime somewhere it’ll grab on something i don’t know interesting works well but well we’ll. See won’t we you already got a loop sewn. In here to hang something sunglasses a. Little camera case something like that’s pretty cool okay there’s there’s. One side pocket here and i generally. Don’t carry sticks on day hike just. Depends on what I’m getting into so this will fit in an al jean bottle. And you can run this through the loop at the nalgene top there to keep it from popping out but that works well and you. Can also use to hold your sticks or whatever looking at this is going. To fail in time everything fails but. That’s i don’t know like i said this is. A new pack I’ve only used it once I’m hard on things I’ve run through bushes. And dragged things across it i mean it’s. Just we’ll see but for the moment it. Works you can just that yeah i mean this. Is gonna pop off or rip out it will i. Now it just cuz it’s happened. Everything every time i have things like this they’re gonna fail not off the back. But eventually so bearing that in mind. You can still fit an al jean in there. And you could probably rig something up to tie it but that looks pretty secure in there but this thing your miles may. Very i suppose but it’s handy and it’ll. Work for the moment we will see in time. Heavy usage you know things are gonna fall apart there’s another one over here. Also where you can hang something. Through and a nice axe or something i suppose something else but there’s no pocket so yeah you know you got some. Little things sewn here you could attach things to so there’re options it’s cool i. Like what i like it you know i think it’s a well-thought-out pack for the most part i think these things could be. A little sturdier and a little more. Heavy-duty but you know things like that. Will increase the cost of the pack so. Yeah we’ll see where it takes it rights. You’ve also got some loops sewn in on. The bottom here and they’ll be useful. For some things this is connected here. You’ll take unhook that and that’s how. You’ll access. That’s your side wait a minute do you. Notice that huh okay well there’s a side pocket right there instead of an outside. Pockets a zipper pocket where you could stash something a map or something would go there wow just now I’ve seen all kinds of cool stuff so you don’t clip these claps here. And this will get you into the top of. The back to get whatever you need out of their back down so now that this thing’s. All full up let’s try that rain fly. Again see how that holds up sticks out. Of here put these back on so i got a. Full up pack will this fly cover it now. Moment of truth alright so the fly is attached to the. Pack fly out and wind grabs it you’ll. Never see it again let’s see this. Actually well right look at that. Axe fully loaded and the rain cover just. Covered the entire pack and it covers it. Well that’s cool love it and it’s even. Got a little drain hole at the bottom like i said this is a this is a pretty thought-out pack a nicely thought out pack all right you’ve got your slot for. Your camel back hose and then it’ll run. Down strap there go right through there. So there’s your water system if you will. I don’t really like using camelbaks. That’s just my preference sometimes i do but a lot of times i don’t I’ll just stick with no jeans so what I’ve got in. The pack is I’ve actually got four. Nalgene bottles in their now one of them. Stuffed with things i may need so in. Theory i could hold a gallon of water just with the nalgene bottles in here and I’m. Gonna dig everything out and show you what i got in their so jackets rain. Jacket also got another now jean this is. Got a bunch of stuff in it. Whistle lighters blah blah blah and I’ve. Got 20 liter dry bags this just got all. Stuff like compass sunscreen food toilet. Paper all those essential things like that and i don’t really carry this is a. Quick dry bag this is more for a canyoning so I’ve got stuff ready for a canyon I’m doing tomorrow we’ve got a lighter dry bag which I’ll use this to cut down on weight but it’s still it’s still the same thing 20 litres it’s not full of course but you know that’ll work. Too and that’s everything that was in. There and you’ve also got your slot of. Course for your camel back in here like that so there you have it all my stuff. That was in there so pack holds quiet. A bit everything you need for sweet long. Day hike and if you have to have or come. Into some inclement weather it’s already. Geared like that I’m very impressed with this pack i like it i like it a lot and i think it’ll last there’s a couple weak. Points i think but you’re gonna have that’ll anything and if you were to make. Those things more heavy-duty like i said. It’s just going to increase the price point of the pack and as far as the. Price point i think was it yeah this went for 130 dollars so. I think it is worth it. To be honest with you so there you have. It the door a ct trail 30 i use this pack. You can check out the video the hiking mount Trumbull video i use this pack to do that hike and it served me very well i think I’ll get a lot of use. Out of this pack so as always appreciate. You watch stay safe out there if you haven’t subscribed please subscribe, and we’ll see you next time do you rock out.

  • Hey there and welcome back to peace. Couch now as many of you aware I’m about to embark on the marathon disorder which. Is something I’ve been concentrating really heavily on for the last year or. More as well as doing lots of training. I’ve been doing so much research on the. Amount of kit going to take and I’ve been testing a lot of stuff so over the. Next couple of weeks before i depart i thought I’d share some of those learnings with you and where better. Place to start than the backpack I’m going to take which i have decided on. The ultimate direction fast pack 20 now. This is super heavy at the moment because it’s its fully weighted so I’ve been training with but i just can empty it out and show you why i like it so much so here it is and it’s naked form. And this is what i like most about it is that it’s so minimal it’s basically an expanded running desk it weighs next to nothing and this is kind of one of the big deciding factors for me because obviously I’m trying to cut down as much weight as possible 510. Grams okay now a great thing to compare. This to is the official war bag which a. Lot of people will be using mdf and in. Contrast it’s got all kinds of stuff hanging off it and most importantly the. Weight of it 900 grams that’s a pretty. Huge difference so this is nearly half the weight of the wire back which is an incredible savings but I’ve also decided. To make an even bigger saving on it there’s not much you can cut off it like the like a wild bag you can get the diseases to that and kind of trim off some weight but here it’s so minimal anyway but certainly the most notable. Savings you can make is in the back there’s a bit of padding that you can remove, and they say that this can be. Used to sit on or even to you know used. To cushion your hips when you’re lying down i found it pretty useless. I’ve actually having removed this form. The back I’ve actually found the pack more come — boo and with it out so condition this. That brings the weight of the pack down to give time a gram so i say 10 grams. Right there so although this fast pack is nearly half the weight of the wire bag actually fits way more in it and it’s down as a 20 litres bag but i think. You could probably push that out quite a lot partly because of the nature of this main compartment and how it seals its kind of like a dry bag has a velcro fastening that then rolls and then clips. In at the sides now i probably got about. 20 litres in there now but you can. Basically just not roll it down as much and sitting maybe another five litres. Into that main compartment it’s not only that you’ve also got this fat mesh here. Which you can fit loads in that really stretches out and it’s a firm mesh as well so it’s going to hold things firmly in place i don’t tend to put a massive amount in there because i like to keep my weight closer to my back but it’s actually really good for holding waterproof or extra base layers that you. Might be using during the day stuff that down there and it holds it in their lovely and secure on top of those two main compartments we’ve got these mesh pockets on the side which also hold a lot of stuff very stretchy and pretty. Secure I’ll generally use those side pockets for stuffing food and stuffing rubbish because even though I’ve got terrible flexibility i can reach into those pockets quite nicely so coming onto the front, and we’ve got two really great water pouches here it really surprises me how many ultra bags don’t. Seem to have big enough pouches built in. For hard water bottles and maybe because they want to offer flexibility so that people can attach themselves but as you think this is a great weight saving thing to be able to build them into the bag that ultimates are it shouldn’t have done so as you can see — water pool. Tools fit there really nicely there’s also the option on this right-hand one if you don’t want to. Carry two water bottles this zips back up again and there’s actually a really nice secure pocket that you could maybe put bars you could put all kinds of stuff down in there it’s actually a really brilliant phone holder you can put your phone down into their sip it back up and that’s super secure. But i actually find that’s one of the major downsides of its bad for me is that I’m going to be running around with two bottles most of the time and there’s nowhere for me to put my phone now I’m not expecting to be on the phone the whole time but it’d be really good to have access to music and stuff like that if i do want to listen to music currently there’s nowhere else. On the front of the bag for me to put it. There’s this outside stretchy pocket just outside where the water bottle is but actually getting your phone into it. It’s pretty much a no-go really the best. Place for you to put your phone is there’s a smaller zip pocket on the side of the bag then it can go in nice and. Securely there’s also one of these clip leaves to put your keys onto you know I’ve ever used one of these so the annoying thing about it is that it’s going to be too far away for you to reach when you’ve got your bag on so coming back to the front you’ve also got two smaller pouches below the water bottles so if i just take these out so you can get a better look so on the left. Hand side we’ve got a zip and on the. Right-hand side we’ve got a velcro strap these are actually bigger than they look quite often i use them to dump keys and just have stuff that i want readily available, but they’re actually stretch out so hold a couple of bars maybe or you know something slightly more sizable approach they just not that phone but you can see i can fit two full clif bars. Into each one of these pockets obviously. One of the most important things about the bag is how comfortable it is and i get on really well with this and i think. That could partly be because of the nature of these shoulder straps it’s actually one bit of fabric runs straight. From the base of the bag over the. Shoulders and down the front you can see it completely wraps around which makes it really comfortable all the way around and especially now I’ve taking. That back bit of padding out it just molds into your body really nicely so one thing that it’s most commonly criticized for is that it has two chest straps but no waist strap and a lot of people will say that that creates a bit too much side-to-side bouncing when they’re running i can definitely see that point but i don’t really experience it too badly myself and i think that’s partly because i found a configuration that really works for me on the front here i tend to pack. A lot of the weight in the bag place for my body to avoid bouncing if i do experience any bouncing i tend to try and adjust my running to be a little normal glider which i guess i see is a win-win situation i kind of want to be a little bit more glide ii so the chest straps themselves are actually really nicely adjustable they’re set into these sliders here which you can move them up and down so i found best. For security for me is to have one right. At the top and then slide the bottom one right down to the bottom and that kind. Of clips me in nicely either side of the rib cage by far my biggest issue with this bag is full of my decision to take polls to the mds oh now handily enough. There’s actually some really nice. Elastic straps on the back that hold them nicely in place you can put them down here there’s a clippable elastic. Bungee that you can wrap them around and have them nice and secure on the back of. The pack like that but i know having. Poles on the back of the bag i will never use them so really i need to have. Then on the front straps but unfortunately on the front straps there’s nothing there that’s made to hold the poles so I’ve had to try and budge something to make it work for me now unfortunately i haven’t made life easy for my selves and I’ve got poles that fold into four sections which means. That both the handle and the pointer at the bottom which means that when it’s. Going down this way there’s nothing really to hold on to the top of the pole so my first idea was to put a hook at. That i tied on to one of these things here and i took this string on the top. And then i tied it to the side that worked it was actually quite comfortable. But it was just so fiddly I’m hooking this and hooking it back on again i probably was never going to use my poles because it was too fiddly so then. I tried other things i tried to pass them on to the front which is a terrible idea don’t try that it was awful and i also tried to fasten it down here somewhere which again didn’t work so my final winning solution simply uses two pieces of elastic one of which just ties. Straight around the strap and around the water bottle here and one which fixes on. To the bottom buckle over here and that one has a sliding clip on it so all we. Do is we take the end of the poles and put it through the bottom bit of elastic we tie that site then put the end over the spike which. Then holds that in position and stops it falling down then the top you just feed. Through that top bit of elastic which. Holds it nice and securely in place so that’s nicely out the way and more. Importantly it’s a really light solution and i know it’s going to be simple enough for me to deploy and actually use the poles when i need to use them so that is the ultimate direction fast pack 20 is a massive winner for me really recommend it if you are doing a multi-day ultra or if you just do a lot of running weekend so check it out.

  • Thinking the right pack can seem like a very overwhelming experience for a lot. Of reasons there are so many packs in the market it’s kind of hard to narrow down which one is right for you i like. To look at three things when I’m picking it back first what’s my purpose i want. To make sure if I’m doing day hikes overnight trips I’m using it as a carry-on that it fits that specific reason then it needs to fit me and fit. My body to make sure that it’s dispersing all the weight properly and finally i wanted to be as comfortable as it can be when i first moved to alaska. This was the pack that i picked up it was deuter future pro 34 litre sl which. Sl on the deuter brand is a pack line. That is designed specifically to fit a woman’s body daughter is a german based. Brand they’ve been in the backpacking industry for 110 years they have several. Lines of packs and what they pride. Themselves on is their air ventilation system their packs are equipped with. This lightweight mesh system that. According to the company keeps you from. Sweating it keeps your a cut your sweat down by about 25% now as i mentioned. It’s important for a pack to fit you properly and there are two main areas. Where that’s true. It’s important that your pack fit in. Your shoulders and in your waist because that’s where you’re going to be carrying the weight now this is the sl meaning. That it is designed specifically for women’s body so that’s a number of. Different features the waist belt is smaller than say a man’s pack to. Accommodate that women are oftentimes smaller you also have slimmer shoulder straps. And they carry in a different way and then you have a smaller wound mostly. Have smaller torsos and so the s outfits. Petite torso one of the things that i. Found that i like pack opposed to a lot of packs is i find that it’s really easy to tighten it and. It’s also really easy to reduce in so. Say you’re layering you put on a coat and you need to loosen it a little bit you just kind of flip these back or you. Take off that jacket and you need to tighten it a little bit more it’s able to do that there are a number of. Different features in this pack pockets. Galore which is what we always like to see on packs you’ve got this top pocket. Which is perfect for gear that you’re. Gonna want to access quite frequently then if you flip it open you actually. Have this sos card which gives you important sos survival advice which is. Kind of cool you also have this interior. Pocket on the lid which is designed to. Keep your valuables safe so i often put things in here that i don’t maybe want to access for the entire trip so keys my. Wallet my id anything like that. Now speaking of keys on the top lid the. Pack actually does come with a key chain that you can hook your keys to however i. Find that it’s not something that i use very frequently which also pockets on. The side i can put ear in there you got. These mesh pockets that hold water one. On either side and this side it also has. That gear pocket now this is a older. Model so it does have this front pocket. Which is an available on some of the newer models however all the models. Have this bottom compartment. That they call the sleeping bag compartment now if you take that out you. Can see it’s a separate compartment but you can also unzip it and it gives you access to the rest so you can use it away there’s a number of attachments. That come with deuter packs you can get attachments to carry ice picks or. Trekking poles as well there’s as well. These that you can attach carbines to. To carry other types beer with you. Whether it’s your coffee mug or something on the top one thing that i. Tend to use this pack for is carry-on. And also it’s a great overnight pack if you’re staying in like a hut or a cabin. So I’ve assembled some gear to kind of give you an idea of how much this 34. Liter pack and pull so i do have its. Hydration bladder compatible so i. Already have my 3 liter hydration bladder in there the hose goes through. The top out the back and then you can. Clip it with this velcro and you can. Actually remove it and clip it to either side whatever is more comfortable for you do we have that in there already. You’ve got our sleeping bag in the bottom we’re gonna throw in our thermos. Our jet boil. A pack of some extra layers you can see. It start to get a little bit tight. And finally every tooth throw in but a. Day and that’s worth food so you can see. That is tight at 34 liters is all of. That but we do still have room in the bottom, so we have a number of options we could stuff more stuff under there, or we can unzip it, and we can make it one large compartment now we talked about. Our lid without easy access exterior. Pocket this i tend to put things like a. Gps in satellite communication device. And always twitter paper now of course. There would be other odds and ends that you would probably carry with you and there is still room in here you have. Some room in our side pockets as well definitely could put headlamps lighters. Things like that other snacks um but. It’s starting to get a little bit full but you could definitely it’s a great weekend bag now one of my favorite features of this pack is the rain cover. So say it starts to sprinkle a little bit outside you just unzip the bottom. Pull out the rain cover that’s actually. Attached by a clip pull it. Over your pack it fits perfectly. And you are ready to go sprinkle stop. It’s easy to take off one thing i really. Like is placement i like that it’s at. The very bottom and i also really like. That it has a clip say you’re doing a little bit of bushwhacking you’re crawling with your branches or things on a rough trail it just touches and rips. Off which it had happened before it’s. Still connected so it seems like you don’t quite use it this often then you. Just back it back in the big shot. And you are good to go now as i. Mentioned i would say that this is the perfect pack for say a weekend trip if. You’re staying in a cabin if you’re staying in the hot it’s perfect for day trips where you need a little bit of extra space it’s not necessarily the. Perfect just day pack with friends. Because it is a little bit heavy at. Almost 4 pounds so you probably wouldn’t want to carry that if you didn’t need to however it was the very first pack that i owned and i used it exclusively for. About three years before picking up some. Other packs some smaller packs and some bigger packs and now i find that i use this exclusively for day trip activity. So berry picking or fishing are the. Primary uses that i use it for but i do. Enjoy the deuter brand i like the slim. Fit the sle for women i think it fits me. Very well and i have other women friends that it fits as well and i would. Definitely recommend and ain’t your. Local store and trying it out. And seeing if it’s the right back for you.

I’m jarred a–the daughter here the tahoe mountain sports talking about the future of pro 40 sl packs the future pro. Is slightly different from the future. Series so as you can see we’re going to have taller packs bigger packs we still. Use the spring steel framework so it’s. Going to allow for 25% less perspiration. By keeping the pack away from your back and letting a big airflow channel in there the spring steel is not like. Aluminum you’re going to be able to and its shape to do whatever and it’s always going to spring back to its original position like i said the future pro. Packs are going to be taller bigger, and they’re going to come with what we call our very flex hip belt the great flex. Hip belt does is that pivots so you can. Either tighten it down and lock it in or you can loosen it up and have that pit bull it’s really important to have that feature in our pro level packs when. You’re skiing when you’re hiking doing anything technical maybe climbing where you want your the bottom part of your body to work independently of your body. And you don’t want the whole weight of that pack swing so that very flex tip. Belt is a really nice feature more. Substantial in the hip belt as well it’s a bigger pack you’re going to be carrying more weight we want lumbar support and then because we have the. Real estate on the hip belt we’re actually giving you two front pockets along the hip belt as well so like i. Said a little bit of a different design here you’re gonna have a top loading pack instead of the features which are panel loading still hydration. Compatible with the nice extendable collar you do have the. Separate compartment whether it’s. Sleeping bag whether it’s wet clothes whether it’s bike stuff dirty clothes. Whatever you want to do you have that. Divided compartment with access back here but you can also zip out the compartment and make it one long tube if. That’s your hiking style or your packing style we do have trekking pole loops and of. Course the deuter you have your rain cover so you’re going to have rain integrated rain cover in the bottom of the pack it is attached but it is also removable so perfectly sized for this pack so that. You are you stay dry that is the future. Pro 40 sl I’m jared and you can check. These out at mountain sports.

Hey how’s it going guys got another backpack review for you thank you so much young’s backpacking for hosting this what you’re looking at here is the deuter future 0 4 t sl first off let’s. Start by saying that you can have the most expensive backpack in the world but if it doesn’t fit right you’re gonna be hating life just because the weights not gonna be distributed evenly it’s gonna be uncomfortable and you’re just not gonna want to wear the pack in the first place so what a bunch of female outdoor experts at dora did was they analyzed. Some differences between male and female anatomy, and they made packs that. Where specifically shaped for the female body normally for in terms of body shape. Men tend to have straight torsos whereas. Women tend to have a more hourglass. Shaped figure with wider hips and narrower shoulders and so this bag has. Been engineered to fit a woman’s torso. Which tends to also be shorter hence the name as sells for a short. Length I’m just gonna go over some of the features of this bag and hopefully he’ll give you an idea of whether you might want to get it for yourself or for your girlfriend or your wife so let’s start first off just start with. The suspension here what you got here is a nice well padded waist belt i like the. Fact that it has a hip belt pocket the boy is pretty good about putting the hip belt pockets on their waist belts if you’re gonna have a waist belt why not have a pocket it’s great it’s nice and sizable enough to stick change small items maybe a it’s a little bit small. Too small for a phone but anything small that you want to get to without having to take off the pack so it’s good give. You a look at the clasp at the front. Here. And you have nice padded shoulder straps. Not too thick but just enough to give it makes it comfortable and you have an adjustable sternum strap now for the sl. Version since it’s a made for the female anatomy they put the shoulder straps. A little bit closer together then on the standard version just because women tend to have narrower shoulders and wider hips and the waist belt has been angled let’s see if i can get the information card and give you a look at the picture. Here you’ll notice here the white would. Be the standard version so the white outline so as you can see the waist belt for a standard version kind of goes out straight whereas here on the orange the. Waist belt for the sl version kind of tilts up and that’s to make for the angular hip angle on a women’s backpack. Also even though this is listed as being. Mostly for women hence this little flower here this comes off by the way this is also recommended also for men. Who have a short torso as well so don’t think this is just for women if you’re a guy and you have a short torso this will work out just fine just take out the flower I’ll leave it doesn’t matter. This also boosts the deuter air comfort. System i talked about it on my own back pack the deuter future 42 basically what. You have here is two aluminum stays i don’t know if you can see it here these. Two stays that arch the back of the pack. Away from your body and then you have this mesh panel right here that your body rests against and this gives a nice little area right here for air to circulate so you’re doing it you don’t get sweaty back i was worried when i. First got my backpack that this mesh would rip or tear or break or whatever but actually after kicking around my bag for a good two years i haven’t had any problems so i trust it now so it’s pretty good and the aluminum. Stays they’re flexible they’re strong, but they’re flexible, so they can bend so really durable system so don’t worry that you’re getting a bag that’s gonna be comfortable but fall apart later this system has lasted me really. Well go into the side there are two. Compression straps you have a bottom compression strap and a top compression strap which you can also undo the top one with a clasp like so. The bottom one is fixed and then you. Have side mesh pocket on the other side as well it’s elastic and it’s pretty durable this mesh material you should. Look at the other side here like so going to the back of the panel back of. The bag there’s a top loading design so. You undo these two clasp you take the top off basically what top loader design. Is its just a main sack with a lid on. Top before i go to the main compartment let me just talk about the lid you have. A back access pocket for the live light here on the back and then when you open. Up the lid on the underneath side you. Have another access pocket right here. Going to the front of the bag you have. An elastic mesh pocket which you can also tighten with the top compression strap right here so in terms of storage. Space i think you could stick a helmet. Here but it’s gonna be kind of tight fit would have like this to be a little bit stretch here and a little bit more expansive for this mesh pocket just so i could stick in a lot of your helmet but for a bike helmet or anything around that size no problem whatsoever you can also stick like so you take off your mid layer your fleece you could just jam it in here without having to undo and get to the main part of the compartment of the pack going into the interior pocket oh by the. Way i love the fact that it’s using these bright colors it makes it easier for you to find your gear if you have a. Black kind of interior it makes it harder to find here but with this bright color any times you put inside are gonna stand out and i love that going into the interior of the bag you’ll notice you. Have a velcro loop attachment for attaching stuff and you have this inner. Back pocket for sticking a hydration bladder this bag is hydration compatible and if you look here on the sides you have a hole on one side here for the loop to go out and on the other side so you can have the hydration bladder going either from your left and right side without the loop hitting the back of your head i really like that it’s a nice touch and just. Give you a look here that’s basically it for the main compartment let me just. Close this guy up that’s about it pretty. Simple design a fair number of pockets. For powder storage and interior storage. Some gear separation in the lid and a very ergonomic design for a different. Frame sizes if you’re of a shorter frame. Size or if you are a woman and just want. Something that fits the contours of your body so it’s my little overview of the. Deuter future 0 40 sl thanks for watching guys and have a great day.

Hey guys tamir this is my daughter for. Tara pro 38 liter packs I’ve had this. Think for about a year now and i really liked it i figured it’s about time i did a review on it i remember. When i bought it the only review i could find was in german but it got me a good. Look at what the pack had to offer so i. Figured I’d put a decent English one. Up there in case anyone else is looking at any of the smaller dotter packs. I don’t think rei actually carries the. 38 anymore i got it online when i lived. In indiana so i couldn’t go to the store well last time i went i believe i saw. 3432 it was red so I’m not sure if this. One’s even still around but i like it a. Lot so I’m just going to show you guys really quickly a couple features on it is a top loading pack so i opened up. Here and expanse quite a bit very good. Amount for a pack this size gives you a. Lot more room to put stuff the top. Compartment does not come off but it. Does fit nicely over even if it’s completely full it has a pocket on the. Inside works really well and as well as. On the back it’s got a nice pocket here. Too. Having trouble with the zippers no yes the same time on the side here each side. Does have a side pocket that is fairly. Sizable i can fit a pair of flip-flops or something in their pretty easily i put a lot of miscellaneous things on the side pocket and like i said each side. Does have a side pocket. Once again these zippers work perfectly fine I’m just being a noob with my. Camera in my hands instead of on a tripod it’s got a lot of different areas. Where you can attach carbines i got a. Whistle there i tied my bandana up here. Great for a sweat rag sweaty guy like me. And a bunch of loops just to put. Then anywhere gives you space to hold. Extra things which i like a lot like. They have a lot of stuff on the outside of my pack down here you can access the. Included rain cover with this nice blue. Bad boy that fits very well onto the pack I’ve only had to use it once sort of work just fine when i used it. Though it was a light rain so i can’t attest to that too much. The last pocket of note is here it’s a. Math pocket and it’s really a map pack and it can’t hold too much because it goes back fairly far there but i. Usually just keep my maps in there as. Well as a compass down on the bottom you. Do have our sleeping bag compartment. And that opens up and right now i have it going completely through the entire. Pack so the solution back apartment does. This is what it looks like zip. Even when exhibits very sizable in this. I can fit my mic open sleeping bag ather. Mraz pro light sleeping mat my cocoon pillow as well as a pretty big hammock i. Got from dick’s it’s not not anything too fancy pretty heavy but i can fit all. Four of those in there which is very nice. Do a couple loops down here as well good. For holding ice picks trekking poles anything like that we have our side compression straps as. Well as the elastic water bottle holders. On the side water can go in through. There. Though there is not one on the other. Side i think there would be that’s one. Think that’s a little bit annoying about it but that’s not a huge deal the thing. That really attracted me to this pack was the air comfort very flexes that deuter has put here the hip belt it’s. Slightly mobile it boasts that it moves. From side to side but it really doesn’t do a lot but it’s enough to. Kind of go with you on the trail a. Little bit but nothing really to brag about it is very comfortable there are. No side pockets on this which is one. Think that i wish they did have and they. Don’t have any really good way to secure. Your straps my wife has a Gregory. Jade and her straps can tuck right and. She’s got the nice side pockets such as me music but the system on the back. Really does allow for air to get in here. Very well very comfortable light. Back i can wear it and like i said. Earlier I’m a sweaty dude hits a that’s a bandana but my back does not sweat. Because i get so much air coming in through the back here overall it’s a. Very good pack i like it a lot for. Night weekend short weekend hikes things. Like that i can fit a lot in this bad boy this seams are strong no complaints. About it so far.
