Best 3 cheap Gun Maintenance – Vises

We’re here today to give you a short review of the Tipton’s best gun vise.

It is actually a really useful tool in our shop here. Now the Tipton’s best gun vice can be adjusted to an extremely wide variety of firearms. I really can’t think of any a shoulder-fired rifle that you really can’t fit this thing to starting.

At the front here everything uses these big knobs to adjust and tighten down. It’s all to listen adjust very fast. We have the front cradle up here for the four end of your rifle or shotgun. And you can undo this front knob and slide it forward or back to wherever you need. Additionally, you can undo this knob right here on the cradle and you can slide it up or down at an angle. There are some detents in there that it skips over and you can set through a pretty wide range got to loosen it up.

A little bit more you can slide it through a pretty large range and get this thing really set wherever you need it. When you get it where you want it and you lock the knob down there are little detents in here that keep it from sliding. Once you lock it down so you don’t really have to crank it down hard but you can get it set in and you’re pretty good to go on the back here. This is the portion. That really gives it the vice name now there are two knobs that allow you loosen this up and slide this portion forward or back on the aluminum track in. The base and once you get it set to where you want the buttstock to be.

You have two cams here on either side. They have these big locking flipper levers on them what you do is initially you start with the levers in the up position. You use these black knobs on either side to adjust the pads to get them fairly close to the stock.

You then flip these levers down and it cams those pads in and applies pressure to your stock and it really locks it in there. I mean you can see I can lift the back of the I set by it so it’s really holding the stock in fairly sturdy and because these are just in and out. If you’re working with a really fine wood stock and you don’t want to worry about mari you can use pretty light tension. If you’re working with the tactical rifle that’s got some weight to it or you’re really going to be doing something that’s going to be moving the rifle around you can increase the tension and really crank that down additionally.

There is padded material in the middle here to protect your stock if you’ve got a really good angle on that stock on the toe. Then it’s not going to get nicked up or torn up now. One of the really neat features of this vise is it was designed to allow you to work on ars as well very easily. Now you see we have an ar-15 in here and one of the primary ways to clean an. Ar-15 is to shotgun the rifle open that way.

You can just slide in your bore guide. You can run your rods in etc and you don’t have to fully disassemble the rifle. They see it cleaned ars for a while know that when you take the upper receiver off it’s usually flopping around. It always takes one hand to stabilize the upper while you’re using the other hand to try to run the rod and manage patches.

On the Tipton’s Best Gun vise they include this nifty little l-shaped bracket here and what I like to do with it is set it with the short side up. Slide it back underneath the trigger guard and then lock it down and it will hold the ar in shotgun fashion. So that you can put your bore guide in here, run your cleaning rod, etc.

How’s it going guys, so we’ve been shooting a lot of USPS still challenge. Three gun then get the guns nice and. Dirty functioning really reliable i. Needed a gun vise so i walked into my. Local gun shop and they had tipton’s. Ultra gun vise really nice unit modular. So they could do a lot and i believe the. Can look like it will do conventional rifles break open shotguns modern sporting rifles crossbows upper receiver. Assemblies bull pups compound bow. Handguns and muzzle loaders it’s got. Some steel rails all modular the clay. Clamp width is two and a half inches four inches on the hike elevations got. Adjustable feet if you have a bench. That’s not flat maybe you’re going to do it on the ground or something i don’t know but it looks like it’s got all the bells and whistles a couple things i like. About it the trays are nice they snap in really easy seemed like it’d be really nice to clean holding your coals or both whatever small springs set screws pins. All room for that here everything get it. Nice and tight again it works for several platforms this is my. Lancer systems /jp 22 it’s in a little. Bit of rework and put a different optic on it with different modes muzzle break before this weekend’s steel challenge match which is eating up got a couple. Co-workers involved in there’s a lot of. Quick guys shooting in this room fire steel challenging that we put together really excited to keep it competitive. Yeah so one of nice things about this. You know you get either clamp it you. Could drop this down knobs got a great. Purchase on me could put a lot of torque into them I’m still a little bit tight. Going flying everywhere i imagine the more you use it the easier. It will start to function go ahead and. Pop the hold down charging handle now you get your floor. Type start running your rod through their jag’s whatever patches whatever. You use this is a really nice gun really. Expensive to build 10 22 is all you need. To do rim fire steel challenge stock 10. 22 should be able to do everything this thing does however if you are going to. Build an ar platform and rim fire hyper. Fire triggers a must have it tried. Everything nothing seemed to have the. Hammer impact to set off those rim fire rounds this hyper fire eclipse i have in. Here it’s the coated on the highest end. One talk to guys the hyper fire they. Figured it would work i had them test a. Bunch of them send me the best one of twenty doesn’t send the gun now i really. Like it really satisfied with the customer service and how quick they got it out to me and its function flawlessly. Simply put it on in not one failure to. Fire no life strikes really brutal nice. Trigger another thing that this. Particular vise has on it and again to. Clamp this hexagon carbon barrel and the. Lancer systems carbon stock is kind of pain this thing has a ball mount. So these articulates really nice it’s. Going to get a little dirty so it’s good that i got this needs a little bit of cleaning being a rim fire there is a. Trigger stop you know you should be able. To dry fire the trigger have arrived this different catch bolt catch release. For the rim fire setup it won’t work here but I’m sure I’ll put on my. Center fire rifle which is also a tricky. Gun to mount and see how that functions. But tipton ultra gun bites so far I’m. Really satisfied i like it seems really. Solid i mean this will probably be a class gun by you ever need it’s nice to see that they. Upgraded from their best gun bias or. Whatever it is so I’ll put my shotgun my. Pistol and my center fire rifle on there. And we’ll test out this hammer stock. There also is some sort of bolt tear down. Think on this mag well vise i probably. Won’t get into that if you get one you can read the instruction and see how that goes i don’t know how it goes yet but yeah we’ll put the next gun on alright so I’m. Going to kind of freestyle this one like i said I’m still really new to the. System but we’ll go ahead and put my center fire rifle in here by three gun. Really nice gun been really satisfied. With this thing so far it’s got it tuned. In june working really well so go ahead. And kind of awkward I’m doing it on the. Opposite side of my bench thank you this. Guy is locked down the frame and again. This is the kfs industries tac mod stock. Really nice unit daniel horner runs it if you’re familiar with three guns for a. Really nice modular it’s got adjustable cheek piece and just how far you want it. Out it does have this really thick limb. Saver butt stock pad which is quiet. Aggressive for two to three it does get. Hung up on your shirt sometimes here or. You’re shooting jersey i noticed daniel doesn’t run this on his. Rifle so i like it for now it’s pretty. Comfortable to shoot like that but it does get hung up on your shirt if you’re maneuvering the gunner getting it up. Again raise the front just lift up here. Go ahead and tighten that guy down and. Attack the clamps up. These trays will snap man i guess we don. That from there but the inner lock into. The mounts which is really nice so you. Get everything really tight if you need to be don’t need to in this situation. One thing about this rifle i want to. Show the hammer stop i do have jp take down pins in this gun. And there are the oversize tightening pins, so they are tough to get out this. Gun like it says that’s kfs industries. Stock really nice steiner 1/2 for scope. Nice for now lancer systems upper lower. Receiver carbon hand guard is a 16 and a. Quarter inch proof research carbon barrel jp systems titanium break all jp. Low-mass bolt they’re silent captures. Spring this one’s got the elf man tactical 3 gun trigger really nice. Didn’t work so well in the 22 works flawlessly in hair amazing trigger. Really liked it i got kind of short finger so i didn’t go with the flat face i do have a different grip. Coming this is just like a mil spec grip so is jp take down ends make the receiver. Really touched which is really. Nice you know if you don’t have a. Matched machine upper lower receiver i. Would get those work really nice go. Ahead and lower this down we could break the gun open a little further you justin. And this is a little tight going to. Clamp that down and this is an awkward gun to take apart you might have to take. The receiver off to get to this hammer. Deal which looks like we do crack this. Guy loose take the upper off so this is. The hammer stop it looks like in the. Brochure is supposed to go all the way down flat for some reason it’s not on this gun but. If you wanted to play with the trigger do some dry fires test trigger I’ll do. Some weight pulls on it that stops it. From impacting the lower receiver. Marring it up saves pan on trigger. That’s a really nice feature i like that. This is some sort of very weird it’s not. A hard rubber it’s more of a soft. Plastic so you could probably do this forever and it’s going to break that thing which is really nice so again this. Is with center fire rifle we’ll go ahead and throw my shotgun on here next see what it sees how it grabs it should work. Flawlessly alright we’ll go ahead and. Put the bread in here right at 1301. Really nice gun i did the modification to it we’ll go ahead and remove the mag glass out of the way and need that i did the loading port i. Did a lot of cylinders head fabrication and professional racing all different. Levels so i got in here with the grinder. Polish it up made quad loading much. Easier really happy with that this comes got a lancer systems i think it’s the +5. To carbon fiber really nice. Deal i could probably go back on the a. Bit and pull this tray out extend this a. Little more leverage on it. Yeah fairly simple fairly easy how much you. Do on a shotgun but if you want to take the tube out flip it over you could. Probably this probably would not even be. A bad way to do your modification to the. Loading port if you wanted to you could. Probably get real close to describe the receiver going there at the grinder dremel whatever your cover you’re going to do it go ahead and attack that so. This is the shotgun beretta 1301 lancers. Systems to so far as convent flawless i. Really like this come to the money hard. To beat it’s not a turn tactical but it. Works really nice so the last gun that. We’re going to install on here is my block g 34 put some zebb parts on it. Flared magwell i put our mar on it i do. I will run it in limited division pretty. Nice gun i like it i did order a 2011. But this has been working fine for now. Really it’s really nice kind of actually. Did a grip on here it’s got like a. Really velvety the lure type finish sub. Triggers of mag well zip slide barrel. All that parts again this is about the. Vise and go ahead and move this by some places prop this up see if we can grab it. By the lower part of the receiver. It’s like you can its enough bite on it. And it’s this damn sure wants a walk around go ahead and pull out this. Chamber flag and dry-fire go ahead and. Pull the slide off there yeah you put. Your caddies back in here i do have to. Clean this up go break it down. Simple easy you go in here and clean. This flow it out i use a lot of alcohol. To clean my guns i got a little compressed air canister throw some. Isotropic 70% in their rinse everything down realize if you don’t have a ultrasonic cleaner that removes. Everything and it’s really pretty safe on most finishes i would check before. You put on anything like spray paint but. Works well for me anodizing powder. Coating works fine so this is the. Tipton’s ultra gun buy so far you seem to put on rim fire center fire rifle. Shotgun pistol supposedly to put a. Crossbow on it palm combo all kinds of different things. Nice units solid doesn’t move around he. Could really get in there and run a brush or patches through something pretty aggressive leaves really pretty sturdy i even have it on this slippery. Surface here and it hasn’t moved around much so get all the adjustment nice unit. Chipton good job hope you guys enjoyed. This i did paint a hundred and seventy. Hey sup everybody phil at youtube. Friends urban art and had a few. Questions on the gun vise that i bought. As a result of jackin at my finger when. Cleaning my okay so i thought i would. Make a video is probably gonna be short because there’s not a lot about it to review but nonetheless it’s been. Requested so I’m gonna go ahead and take. A few minutes and I’ll go over my super. Fancy awesome gun vise so check it out i. So i don’t know if you’ve seen any of my. Videos before but there was a point in time that i cut my finger actually it was on the right hand which was holding. The camera but it was this side he can’t. It doesn’t matter anyways i cut it really bad and it was because i didn’t have the proper tools when i was trying. To clear jam in my a k so that. Prompted me to pull the trigger so to speak on a gun vise for cleaning my. Rifles I’ve got only a couple rifles. I’ve got an ak-47 and a ruger 10/22. Which i am totally in love with but had. Some comments and questions about my opinion about the particular vise that i. Bought so just got to get into it so. This is the tipton’s ti pto in the best kind. Of ice i guess in the world not sure. Actually where it’s made i know a big. Deal of trying to buy american right not sure my guess is for I’m not sure I’ll. Have to look it up but it’s not exactly sure the total. Length so hang on I’ll go ahead and. Measure it for you okay it’s a total length of this bad boy into end is almost it’s almost three. Feet it’s 32 inches so if you’re trying. To see if you’ve you know how long your bench or your table is it’s 32 inches in length use bowl probably about. 30 full or not I’m sorry probably about. 29 or 30 inches of actual length space. But it was pretty easy to put together. It essentially has a couple pieces so. These two pieces come separate and this. Whole module can it’s just controlled by these dials which there’s this rail down here and it slides them too so you can slide this whole piece front and back which is nice and then you can crank it. Crank it down and this is where the barrel will rest down on this end and. You can kind of as i pulled it all the. Way out i think i pulled it out too far. That’s what she said so anyways let me. Fix this real quick okay so i just kind of came off the track i pulled it too far back and you can slide it forwards you can tighten it down this guy as well. Slides up and down depending upon the height of maybe like the barrel or. You know i guess i never really screw. With it to be honest with you but you can pull this up higher here then tighten it down right here. What if you like as this metal piece also slides on the rail you can loosen that and it slides back and forth on. This little grid here and you can. Tighten it down so this would be like maybe further like where your trigger is or your upper receiver my rest on here. Or something like that and then back. Here has another rest for this stock and. This is kind of cool so these guys. Actually can push to tighten it easily so you don’t have. To screw these every single time you can kind of get it fitted for this for your. Particular stock and then went to tighten it down you just pull down on. Both sides and it kind of pushes it together and that’s kind of cool so I’ll put my. I’ve got my ak-47 out and I’ll go ahead. And put that in their kind of show you how that works okay so i just put my. Occasion here and you can see that it’s resting right here and i can you know slide that forward if i want but that’s a pretty good resting place i tend to usually put a towel down first or cloth. Or something over the top of this so that when you’re putting solvents and stuff in the top it’s going to come through your lower down here and you can. Drip down and i just try to keep solvents off this is like some sort of rubber polymer ish kind of thing so. Just for the sake of keeping it lasting longer and stuff they just cover it up you can see the barrels resting down here and in the back I’ve got the stock. In here and if i push down on these i. Kind of go in so now this is pretty tight and i can you can screw these just to make a little bit more snug so. Doesn’t move anywhere so that way when you start popping stuff off and getting. All crazy with your cleaning and all that you know your rifle stays in place. As I’m moving around super helpful. Keeping yourself and getting hurt I’m. Kind of doing this one-handed anyway you get the idea i mean now i can go ahead and strip this bad boy down it’s an upright position it’s easy for me to check the breech when I’m cleaning it. And all that good stuff because i got. Like one of those little safeties on you. Go into those breech lights i should i. Don’t know where the hell i actually I’ve got it over here just kind of walk. Around what’s up on this rank right here so it’s nice because i keep some tools. Kind of down here and you can put like patches and stuff in here i don’t really store anything and compartments but i guess you could and. Handed so i guess to be out there so. It’s nice because i can do stuff like what I’m cleaning the gun and everything i can make sure nothing going on i can. Shine my light down here and then you. No see viking yeah you get the idea. It’s a little dirty was at the range and. I got a i got to clean it but it’s a 8k. So you know it’s fine anyway it’s pretty. Good in retail on this thing i paid adventurer outdoors 99 bucks a little more than I’d really. Like to spend but compared to the alternatives that were really cheap and like the 40 50 dollar range. Were really flimsy and plasticky this. Thing’s pretty solid it’s got screws in there are holes in the base if you want to mount it to something you could it’s. Gonna mount all four corners and you. Now it’s its its pretty nice makes. Mixes life pretty easy for cleaning. These guns out so that’s pretty. Much all they had i really don’t know. What else to say about it other than it was a really worthwhile investment one. That’ll hopefully lasts forever and makes my life really easy when cleaning both my ek and my rigger and i. Do plan to get some other rifles and. Just notice that this was a loose i have to tighten that i also got picked. Something up for that so I’ll be doing a video on that a little optic for it so. Anyway that’s my tipton best gun vise. 100 bucks works pretty darn well is it. Worth a hundred yeah and that’s that’s. Up to you to decide i mean i know it’s kind of hard to drop that kind of coin for something like this but for me it. Was a pretty investment long-term at plenty is it quite a bit so that’s uh. That’s my review of my yeah my rifle. Cleaning vise so cool all right urban armed I’ll talk to y’all here.

Hey guys midnight range tm here i wanted. To bring a quick review to the channel. Tipton ultra gun vise a few weeks ago i. Got a flyer in the mail for a midway and. This bad boys on sale right now I’ve. Wanted a gun vise for four years now. And i never wanted to buy a cheapie one. I wanted something nice but these were always in 150 dollar range or something like that a little more expensive than i wanted to put out for at the time so 99. Bucks is a killer price and so i brought. It home put it together i mounted a rifle in it once just to sort of get a feel for it but this summer once i get out and shoot some more I’m you know I’ll have a better idea of what’s going on how it works and use it on a couple different rifles so you know. Might do a secondary review then this is. Just sort of unboxed review it is. Solid it’s really nice mm-hmm it’s heavy. It’s really sticks in place it’s got. Some rubberized feet on the bottom the you screw on they have some bolts you. Can actually take those out and bolt it straight to a bench too if you want to. And then you know it’s a solid as your. Benches so just a couple of quick things. That go over it is sort of it is a polymer but it is a really sturdy. Polymer i wasn’t really sure what to. Expect from it’s not just like an injection molded plastic ii kind of. Hollow feeling it really is pretty solid. The basically it comes totally just a. Sound like disassembled you’ll get the rails and these rails are really like. Really thick it’s really sturdy it. Doesn’t have any give to it at all this this and this is all. Unattached when it comes these trades just pop off which is pretty cool. They just pop on and off really you know sort of like you know if you’re. Working on something you put your screwdrivers or your dyes or whatever the hell you want in there you know your punches or you know screws springs all. That kind of you know boing all that kind of little stuff stick them in there so you don’t lose them what would be nice too is to maybe cut a you know have. The magnets that are flexible what i. Want to do is actually get some of those and sort of superglue them into the. Bottom so that way there’s a magnet in there you can just drop a screw or a bolt or something in there and it’s gonna stick so that’s one thing i want. To do quick which is nice. The this and the actual vise parts. Unscrew and it’s basically like a. C-clamp underneath you know and it does. Really tighten down well it does a good. Job you know there is when you tighten. It obviously there’s a little you see you do see some bending of the tubes but that’s you know it is what it is it does a good job and it does hold up well the. Grips the vise grips are they do have a. Rubber cover on them and they’re a nice. Soft rubber i can’t see them marring. Anything i feel like it’s gonna do a. Good job and it’s soft enough to have a really good grip to it they do have a. Screw on the back that you can’t see, and they raise up and you can take them off. Obviously but they raise up so they do. Come up pretty high so that way you can. Put the back up and angle it down for cleaning so you’re not having any solvents or oils or anything run into the action of your rifle this is an. Ar-15 mountain obviously if you didn’t know that the ar-15 mount does pivot. Some screw it and pivots this is. For your ar-15 bolt take your bolt out. Hooks in there and it gives you the. Ability to clean out your bowl this is. Unbelievable it’s pretty cool and this. Is a hammer stop you actually put your. Air fifteen through the mag well there the magwell goes over top of this it sits here and then you can lift this up. And position it wherever it’s supposed to be positioned and that way if you’re doing trigger work or putting a trigger in say you’re polishing your trigger and. You want to check functionality when you. Pull the trigger and the hammer drops it’ll drop against this and that way. You’re not doing any undue abuse to your. Trigger okay so it’s just a you know. Soft plastic kind of rubbery plastic so. That’s really cool i thought that was really neat so i don’t think there’s a lot more to say other than that i just thought it was a really kind of a fun product to review especially. While it’s on sale i did see two that they are on sale on amazon for the same. Price but you know either way. You want to go you could do that if you. The Portable Armorer’s Vise has been designed to give the shooter a fixture that he can use either at home on his workbench or in the field to secure his guns for cleaning and servicing clamp.

The clamps to the bench top insert the shaft of the vise to the hole. So that the club caves engage and tighten the nut and you’re ready to go. The vise is the perfect servicing and maintenance fixture for all guns.

Plant the gun on the vise. Then the vise can be rotated through 360 degrees. So the gun can be clamped pointing downward or the gun can be held level and the vise becomes the perfect scope mounting companion.

The vise makes cleaning and servicing of style weapon. A simple task grip the gun in the vise remove the rear. Take down pin and a rotate device that’s just at the perfect angle and lock it into place. Now you have full access to the trigger group, the bolt, and carrier assembly. And you’re able to clean the gun with the muzzle angled down. So the old gunk and debris run out the muzzle and not back into your action and trigger group.
