Hi I’m andy from the car lift store and I’m here to talk to you today about the north face apex bionics soft shell jacket it’s made of a really tough soft. Shell material nice and stretchy so you get really good freedom of movement it’s also very weather resistant as well so it’s going to keep you nice and comfortable in most types of weather in the hills two big pockets on the hips. Down here which are great for keeping your hands nice and warm got a napoleon chest pocket up here which i think is just about big enough for a folded up os map velcro adjustable cuffs just to keep. The wind from going up these sleeves but a hem draw cord she’s operated from inside the pockets. Just to get a snug fit around your waist i really like this jacket because it’s pretty windy here and I’m nice and comfortable the winds not getting at me or anything like that this jacket is great for people who want. To do a little bit of walking and maybe just want to be able to wear the same jacket to the pub in the evening its nice and smart but it’s still technical enough to be used on the hill

Okay today just taking a look at the. Icebreaker t-shirt this is one of their. Cool light shirts called the fear. T-shirt and so it’s 135 gram weight. Which is the lightest weight shirt. Icebreaker makes and so yes how it kind. Of looks on so this is a medium on me i. Usually wear a large i did order a large. Shirt in this cuz you can see the medium. Just kind of hits my gut a little bit. And doesn’t look the greatest so kudos. If you’re a better shape it’ll probably look better on ya but with the large i. Found it still hung the seam in the front but the back was where it was. Blouse here so really didn’t make any make much difference in how it hung so i. Just kind of hit the medium on the. Sleeves were a little bigger and a large too but i think the medium sleeves look. Find the one thing i noticed on this shirt is there’s a little these little. Divots to stick out on each, and they’re on each shoulder kind of makes it look like it was hanging on a hanger which so. Which is kind of you know shouldn’t do. It merino wool cuz it will stretch out so it doesn’t like the greenest sorry. For the sweat stains pretty warm here today but so you can see it definitely. Pulls the moisture off pretty well but. Yes that’s how it looks and if the length is pretty good a lot of merino wool shirt seemed to run really long this one’s kind of more normal length. I don’t know how much it’ll shrink this. These cool light shirts the severe shirt. Is a blend so it’s 65 wool 65 percent. Merino wool 20 percent tensile 15. Percent nylon. The fabric weed is 135 grams so it’s. Very light fabric the weed of the shirt. According to icebreaker in a medium size is 150 grams or 5.2 9 ounces so i kind. Of got it just to see something for running it’s a bit because i have a i. Forget 150 or 178 merino a shirt and it. It does feel a little warm so it’s kind of curious about this one being 135 and. It’s with the tensile is supposed to be cooler i don’t i haven’t run in them. At all i think I’m just gonna send them back cuz again they seem to fit a little snug on me on the front there and. Honestly I’m a little burned out on. Merino just kind of how it’s not super. Duper durable the one shirt i have been running in doesn’t have any holes yet but it has a lot of pilling where the. Backpack sits that i run with and then a. Couple other shirts i do have holes and. I’m not sure if it’s from my belt like. Where they sit on my waist or just abrasion and certainly i mean i was. Darning some holes yesterday so it’s. Fixable but it is nice to have a shirt. That you don’t have to worry about getting holes in all the time so I’m up. In the air with merino a little bit but you can’t beat the you know the nonstick. Nonstick enos i was wearing it day after. Day but anyways as far as this fear shirt so. You can see there’s one logo here right on the left chest pocket and it’s collar. Same colors the shirt so it’s pretty subtle and then on the right seam. There’s an icebreaker to agggghhhh logo. They’re so pretty subtle branding i would say overall there’s no that it’s. Not raglan sleeve so the seam run right on the top of the shoulder so i don’t know if that would hit you at all if you were running with your you know hiking with a backpack kind of thing but the fabric is very light it’s. A comfortable fabric and hopefully maybe with the nylon and the tensile maybe it would give you a little more durability. Than a 100% merino wool shirt would the. Retail i think on this one is 70 bucks, but they seemed you know they dropped. Down in the amazon to the 40 to 50 dollar range it looks like depending on color and size and whatnot so but yeah. Hey what’s up chris here with summer. Coming to clothes recently been in the market for a new lightweight jacket my current go to jacket that i absolutely love is the patagonia nano puff can’t. Say enough good things about this track you absolutely love it one of the main. Limitations though is that when it does get warmer you quickly get hot in this. Jacket so just like a breath ability really stands out when those temperatures do get a little bit warmer so one jacket i kept coming back to is the patagonia their nano air light. Hybrid hoody so wasn’t sure what to. Expect before i purchased this jacket because i just could never find it in a store to look at it I’ve actually looked. At the nano air jacket and really liked that jacket but it was so similar to the. Nano puff i just could not justify. Making that purchase because of the similarities between the two jackets so. Was really interested in looking at this jacket but another thing i can’t face. Him with this jacket was i just could not justify spending the money at the time so it found a really good price on. This jacket especially being the hoodie which i love having a hood on my jacket if at all possible but usually that’s gonna increase the price but failed it was necessary just to show this if you are in the market for number one a lot of weight jacket but this one in particular also if you are familiar with the nano. Air at all from patagonia this is gonna. Be very similar as far as some of the material but what’s unique about this jacket is the fact that it is so breathable so just looking at the jacket. Again the front here for the most part is gonna be insulated but turning this. Jacket around you’re gonna see very quickly that there’s gonna be some knitted top material on the back of the jacket under the arms of the jacket the. Armpits of the jacket and along the bottom of the sleeves here so a lot of those areas that you’re gonna sweat when you’re being active hiking going around. Town or wherever you might be so it’s. Gonna allow hopefully some of that warm. Air that you’re generating to come out of the jacket and keep you somewhat cool and whether that’s not. Totally cold so again what i was trying. To do is kind of find a good in-between. Between say an insulated jacket like the nano puff and that fleece jacket. That we’ve loved for so long the problem. I’ve always had with fleece is just that there’s so bulky and taking up a lot of space when you’re traveling again i like the fact that this is a really gonna be a jacket you can compress or compact. Down really small when you travel though this again in your pack or in a bag i like the fact it’s gonna be very breathable but also I’m hoping that this. Is gonna keep me warm when the weather does dip down or that temperature does dip down say in the evenings we’re at. Nighttime and you’re just out and about whether it’s again you know out in. Middle of nowhere or you know if you’re in the middle of a large city traveling and you just have this handy so it’s. Exactly what i was looking at but a couple things that did stand out that kind of surprised me when i pick this up and got it out of the box again it’s. Just it’s a really lightweight jacket i think it comes in around 10 ounces I’m. So very lightweight but one thing to. That kind of stands out and I’m really interested to see how this is gonna i guess perform when it gets cool is just how thin this back material is so again. I guess I’m kind of hesitant because I’m not sure how warm it’s gonna keep me but i know this isn’t a jacket for really cool weather and thankfully we live in the south so it’s not overall gonna be. Super cold even though we did have a really cold winter last year so. Hopefully i think this is gonna be a good early fall late spring top jacket. And get exactly what I’m looking for. Something when those temperatures do begin to drop that i have handy again if I’m out and about have it in a pack i can quickly grab this out or if I’m traveling again just to have this in my. Bag even if i don’t meet it again very. Lightweight and it’s not gonna take up a lot of space in your pack so again just wanted to show this and let you know again that this material is gonna feel very similar to that nano air top. Material real. Feels kind of stretchy i guess but again. What’s unique is just that the way that this feels and how thin i guess and maybe that’s not a good way to describe this that the material on the back and under the arms and armpits of the jacket is so again this is kind of first look at the jacket this is a large and i will. Throw this on real quick and i believe. This is gonna be more of an athletic fit. And to me it’s actually really comfortable so again I’m about five nine. And actually around 200 pounds and this. Jacket actually because it is a little stretchy fits me pretty well as i was concerned between this and say an extra-large i was afraid an extra-large might be way. Too big if it also comes with some i. Guess the thumb hole here that your. Thumb goes in again to help cover some of your hand and I’ve also read where a lot of people who run this is a good fit. For someone who’s a runner or if you’re. A climber and the weather’s not drip drop too low this is a jacket you could wear all day big and very. Comfortable i love the way this jacket feels and fits and again i love. The fact it has a hood. So yeah I’ve not had a chance to test this because it still is i think in the 90s outside currently so I’m really. Interested to test this over the winter and i will do an updated review on this i just wanted to do a first look at. Hey guys this is ari and today we’re. Gonna be talking about all-time hey guys. Is ari with ny gear review and today we’re gonna be talking about the patagonia nano-air hoody the jacket. Comes in at 385 grams or 13.6 ounces it. Is super lightweight the outside fabric. Is a 100% nylon ripstop it’s super. Stretchy it forms with your body i can’t. Speak highly enough about this outer and inner fabric the outer fabric i believe. Is a 2010 year and the inside is 50 so. It has a little bit more of that smooth touch this is a synthetic jacket so the. Difference between synthetic and down you know is that down loses a lot of its. Insulation properties when wet this is not going to affect this jacket though because it’s a synthetic so i am 6-3 185. Pounds and this is a size large it fits. Terrific you know patagonia sometimes has a little bit of a sizing issue just and then i find that some of their clothing can be a little bit baggy r in. The waist area the top has a zipper garage so it stopped any chafing against your neck you have to external hand warmer pockets and to external chest. Pockets i love them both some of the cons about this jacket and there aren’t many is the cuffs as you can see when i. Hang my hand at my side there’s a little. Bit of bunching of the fabric at the cuffs now there is an update to this. Jacket that’s being released right now i think it got released like last month by patagonia it’s an update to the outer fabric it has this fabric sometimes. Gets a little pilly again i could not care less this is a phenomenal external fabric and then on the new cuffs what they’ve done is added sort of. More fitted cuff without this elastic. And piece here so for the pricing on this jacket it comes in and a whopping. $299 so it’s a lot of money you know and. With new york sales tax you know it’s. More than that so it’s an expensive jacket for sure you can get this current. On the past seasons past season product. Because of the update with the new one you can get this current jacket for one. A Hundred and forty-nine hundred seventy-nine dollars on patagonia comm and you can probably get for even cheaper in some places like back country or musa in summary this jacket i would give it easily a ten out of ten I’ve had no issues with it i put it through the. I call improvement upon the nano air line it is 75% more breathable than nano. Hair series while being one-third less. Weight the insulation it uses is pedagogy’s proprietary full range insulation this has 40 grams as opposed to 60 grams other monomers what that means is this. Is great for high aerobic activities in cold weather mountain climbing rock. Climbing tour in the back country of trail running whatever you’re doing outside we’re gonna go loss sweat this will dump it faster than anything out there and for the insulation they’ll keep you warm in the meantime too so some great features on it there’s only one pocket it’s the napoleon pocket right here it’s actually very deep. Napoleon pocket very deep so you can. Store whatever you want in there and then it has these great elastic cuffs. That you know if you’re like me I’d quantities up a little bit they’ll stay in place no problem and then the hood is very nice scuba. Hood and then of course a nice tall color and as far as fit this is the. Athletic fit for them so this is extra. Large and I’m six foot one two hundred pounds and it fits me pretty well so keep that in mind when purchasing for yourself or for others msrp is 250 on. This jacket and very well worth it so. Is some of the thing i like the most of all the rain is filters all people and it’s peace and quiet forest has got a. Different feel you know like the moss the water is so lush and i think it’s. Quite special. I’m here today to talk to you about the. 7j jacket if you want to play in the. Outdoors here you have no choice to be well-dressed so for me know a good rain. Jacket needs to be comfortable i need to get hood i need to have the strut well done and the string so it keeps me warm at the same time what i like about it. It’s helideck protection it’s breathable and it’s very comfortable for the west. Coast. You.

All right this is a review of men’s. Helly hansen 7j ring jacket there’s a. Heli hansen logo on the left side of the jacket I’ll take a look at it and see what you think I’m in general the fabric is pretty soft and smooth and the. Stitching looks of good quality it has a. Nice it’s recently quiet when you walk it’s not too crinkly or Natalie but has it’s just smooth you won’t see me i. Guess it sounds like a rain jacket there. Are two side pockets left and right and. Then there’s also an internal chest. Pocket on the inside secured with velcro a decent amount of space in their like. For extra cash or some papers or ever and i would say it’s probably about 5 by. 7 in general besides this it’s kind of handy zipper here the right there’s a. Rain flap that has some extras velcro patches to secure it and then also at. The bottom and at the top of that rain. Flap are a snap to help secure it on the. Right side of the rain flap there is some nice soft felt kind of fabric there. That black part to be gentle to your neck and your chin as you zip it all up and let’s see here the inside of the. Jacket has you have that waterproof layer and the waterproof coating on the jacket but there’s also meshed netting on the whole inside of the jacket that helps keep it off your skin so if you’re. A little bit sweaty help with air circulation you don’t get soaked lambing your sweating a nice feature of this jacket too compared to some others some. Jackets are like this and some that the inside of the sleeves is smooth fabric instead of netting so your arm can get in and out easily whether you have short sleeves on but especially if you’re wearing a sweatshirt or a different shirt that is a long as a layer that keeps it from bunching all up. And if you ever had that do that you don’t know what I’m talking about that the bunching all up and you got to readjust your sleeves and your shoulders and everything is kind of hassle as. Far as the fit in general this do i am. Able to put a thin layer under it make. It just like a regular shirt Karyn for this thickness or even i even tried a fleece underneath it and it did fit but it was a little bit more snug but you could pull it up if you wanted to like to have another layer with you on both sides of this jacket on. The bottom are these little toggles you could squeeze in to pull and cinch it tighter against your body to block wind. Or water if you need it to but when i try it on to see the fit but for me i don’t really need that because the little trimmer fitting around the hips and so there’s not a lot of extra room on the pockets here they don’t look like. They’re secured really tell you there’s a little connection point there but there’s still room for ads and ends in here and so far they’ve been holding up okay but i haven’t had in a super long time there is a little hook here like a. Locker hook if you want to hang it that way but a lot of times i just hanging out the hood and motherhood in general — as it has a brim on the front to keep. The rain out and maybe block the wind a little bit seems to work okay so far tested it in the rain a couple times at least walk into my car from work and it helps a lot. There is a velcro adjustment here in the. Back of the hood so let’s say you had a smaller head or the brim was hanging down too far in your face you could adjust that and make it work better for you there are two toggles on the sides. Of the rain hood here a thing you just pull them down to tighten up the hood around your face and then you just pull off to loosen it and there’s a little slit in the bottom and you can just lock the cord in and then it’ll keep the. Length that you want alright what else i. Have about this jacket that perhaps can be upgraded in future jackets is that the zippers are very small they are ykk. Zippers and they are fairly smooth but. It’s in the morning like let’s say you’re cold it’s dark you have gloves on or it’s raining it can be tricky to zip up zippers without fumbling for it a little bit what i did is i had some extra cord around a lot like thin para cord and so i added a zipper pull to the main zipper and i also added it to. Both pockets and that seems to work far better alright well let’s try this jacket on i bought size large I’m about 510 and. A Hundred ninety pounds i usually buy size large insurance if i was to wear a suit. Coat jacket I’d wear a 42 so yeah size. Large seems to be good fit for me like i said in general this has a nice a lightweight fit seems to breathe well block the wind but not be super bulky. Zip it up here at the news of the bullet you see there pretty well pockets to see. And you got that extra pull just so much easier to grab but everything seems to lay flat the zipper flaps do snap the. Bottom cover things up there’s a little. Logo it says heli tech on the left. Sleeve it’s great so it’s hard to see in. General i like the fit of this coat because it’s kind of little bit trim fit as you can see my waist is somewhere. Between 34 and 35 hours depending on it. And you can see by the hips this jack some jackets you’ll get will sit, and we’ll low in the hips and then when you’re in the car or you’re doing. Activities it gets in your ways too tight this one as i mentioned we’ve got those cinch straps on both sides which. We can use to tighten it but for me i don’t really need to say I’m only got a couple inches yeah but in general i like how this is a it has a trim fit. More flattering and i think it’s a little bit of lettuce fit i really like how they made the shoulders have room. You can see how there’s a lot of space in the shoulders whether you’re you know whether you’re doing anything you want it’s got more mobility and there’s. Length so if you’re driving your car you know your arms are still kept covered. And dry and warm or if you’re reaching for things outside just in general it. Looks like the food is designed to move with you a little better and i really like that or if you have that second layer under you’re gonna need the shoulder space i really like that it’s not so tight subject as a chest they’re just too tight alright and the collar another feature i really like is that the collar and hood are all integrated some jackets will. Have will have a collar where you can pull up the hood and tuck it into the collar but then just makes a big bulky collar and most of the time i mean if i. Have a raincoat on and it’s raining i want the hood and I’ll have to undo it and then with it just looks better just seems simpler and it’s a less one less thing to go wrong all right let’s try the hood on i was if it on up got that. Nice flap there to soften the skin higher soften the jacket like i mentioned we got these strings so pulled down tight there we go. They hooded the little visors there, so we’re blocking them in and in water I’ll. Take a turn around here you can see how it fits i still have that full range of motion even if there’s um even with the. Hood and everything still doesn’t constrict too much you know still whatever you need to do it’s nice, and we. Can adjust the back of the hood if we need to yeah so far i really like. We need to add the zipper pulse and i like the fit you see it like i mentioned it about the fit but how it’s trim in the middle it helps because I’ll show you a different jacket where it’s a little more ability in the middle and kind of just gives him your way but it. Man’s rain wear this has a really easy zipper too but now here’s what i was talking about you can cinch the sides but look at how much fabric is in the middle a giant I’m on the fabric, but they do say that it’s marketing for an extra layer under it which i could see but i had a prior model of this jacket. And it has less fabric here so that was if this jacket can be a couple inches smaller in the middle that would be a good thing so overall yeah. 7j rain jacket is a great rain jacket and i really like it thanks for watching alright i just went outside cuz it’s.
