Today I am going to unbox the hiking shoes that I ordered online. So since I really need a hiking shoes, I decided to look online for the hiking shoes that I really wanted. I am very picky with the specific kind of shoes that I want. It has to be the most comfy and for the hiking shoes I prefer to have the boots type. The number one question that I ask myself. Every time I try to purchase the shoes is, is it comfy enough to walk on it for hours? Of course, the style is my second priority.

Once I’ve seen the style that I want it, I have to consider the price too and once a specific shoe fits my criteria. I definitely have to buy that. I think I found the one that I wanted, but let me look around and see if there’s still something else that might make me change my mind. These ones look really good too. They might make me change my mind. Well, let’s go back to the one that I found earlier. It’s this one columbia, it’s the newton ridge plus waterproof hiking shoes. I love the idea for a waterproof hiking shoes.

I ordered this specific kind of hiking shoes because I want the protection of the woodstock hiking shoes, it’s better for me compared to the other kind. So let’s go and check it out. [Laughter]. Thank you. The brand that I choose colombia see, I personally don’t know the brand.

What are the good brands and famous brands or hiking shoes? I hear that lulia is on a really good night. So, let’s see I’m so excited the last few hikes that I had I’ve been using running shoes and it hurts like um, especially on the going down the slope gosh my toenails they’re, like they hurt so bad. It’s exactly the same that I saw on the picture, I’m so excited by the way guys I ordered the white one because um for me, it’s gonna be more comfy, underneath that’s more important, see if you order a hiking shoes running shoes.

The thing that is really important is the comfort that is going to give you. So that’s why I ordered the white one, because it gives your feet more room to move inside. So it’s not that much of a difference, but once your food is on it, your feet can actually feel the difference. Let’s see the other one is also the same wow they can climb up rocks sandy point. You.

Hello, hello, hello, welcome to firearms of review of the ultimate survival boot. Where is it a good boot we’ll find out? This ones are from Colombia and you can get them on Amazon for about 60 bucks. Now they range somewhere between on average around seventy-five to a hundred dollars, depending on what color you pick depending on what size you pick now.

This was our black on black and they were 75 in nine and a half. Now they do have seven different, colors, weird names, cordovan squash, just take a look. I will include the link in the description below now. As you know, or do not know in this section of our channel, we are doing the review of the ultimate survival boots ultimate survival gear, basically something that you would put on run out of your house, and that would be your last pair.

Hopefully, you survive whatever. That is whether it is a natural disaster or war terrorist attack. Whatever you can think of now, I personally been in a few situations like that, one of them being hurricane ear, ma yes, hurricane ear, my survival here, survivor, yeah and and I had to put on my work boots and man. Let me tell you they are uncomfortable as hell.

So I have created this list of eight different criterias that we’re gonna judge the boots by number one being walking running lengths of standing whatever wearing comfort. How comfortable these boots are to run in to walk in to stand in we’re in for long extended periods of time. You get the point number two stuff proof. What are this boots proof? What a proof- maybe maybe you know, oil proof radiation-proof? What other other different things that they can be provable and number three would be the quality.

How well are they made number four sole grip slip: resistance? How how great is the sole for different applications? Number five temperature? Are your feet getting too hot. Are your feet? Getting too cold number six will be long activity. How long will they last you number seven balance of application. You know different applications running walking, riding a motorcycle riding a bike whatever, whatever you really can think of how good are they? Are they balanced now and number eight being the price now, not the most important, the price? That’s why it’s the very end, because these are your ultimate survival boots.

They better be amazing. Okay, so if you already checked out them on Amazon, if you have clicked on the link below that I, provided you will find out that they have a lot of a lot of a lot of great reviews. More than two thousand I think it’s almost three thousand now. There is a reason why these boots are awesome in pretty much every single way.

So, let’s start from the very beginning, walking running lengths, comfort, amazing I, ran for three miles straight in these boots, and I walked for five miles in this boot. Now the surface was different. It was a mix of wet grass. Rocky road asphalt, I hope, I, pronounced that correct, and this boots performed very, very well. I didn’t feel any pain.

They are very light just as light pretty much as my running sneakers. Maybe a little bit a little bit heavier, but still feels amazing to running the the bottom. Sole is pretty bendy, so it is easy to run on the tippy toes whenever it comes to style, which is not very important. It’s not very important for ultimate survivable to have a cool-looking style, but nevertheless, this look really really really cool, as you can tell from all the sides, from the top from the side and from the bottom from the back, whatever from the other side yeah, they do look really really nice walking, running Lance, Comfort, perfect I would give them nine out of ten whenever it comes to running and standing for long periods of time wearing them.

The whole day, comfort, wise, great, nine out of 10 all right stuff proof. Now these are advertised as water resistance. It’s not waterproof. You know, I just said stuff prove bad water resistant and that’s really it you know and I guess it is pretty good. You have this protection for for water. Obviously that is goes from your tongue.

To your you know, the top of the boot I, don’t really know different parts of that. To put that they use but water resistance, again nice running through the wet grass. Obviously your feet, not gonna, get wet or walking through some. You know shallow Creek or something like that would be great. Now, three quality quality, wise I can’t really judge much because I didn’t really have them for a very long time.

You know how much they’re gonna last quality itself feels really really good. You know all the strings are nice, but how long this will last I can’t tell the reviews obviously speak for themselves on Amazon people say that they had them for a long time and and and they’re still good, so I I trust them on that whenever it comes to the sole grip, perfect I think this are great.

I think this is this sort of a bottom sole whenever it comes to different applications is the best because it’s not gonna, be slippery in on. You know like a tile or anything like that, or marble wet rocks, wet grass rocky road. It’s it’s very nicely balanced. I think this is this. Is this is the best way to go whenever you it goes with? You know having a good grippy bottom, sole, all right, number, five temperature.

Now again, like I, said: I was running for five miles straight and I did not get my feet, didn’t get too hot and obviously it wasn’t cold because I live in Florida, so I can’t really come into that. But because that’s boots you know, obviously you know temperature rise if you, if you worry about that as long as they’re, not too hot, so that your feet don’t sweat and get wet from the inside.

Just wear good socks have winter socks with you have summer sites with you just in case. That’s just a recommendation whenever it comes to putting the stuff in the backpack, because it’s ultimate survival. Yes, alright number six is long activity. How long this will last again, like I, said it depends on the quality and so far as we know, the quality is pretty good and the reviews are pretty amazing on Amazon, so I trust on that.

Whenever it comes to long activity, number seven balance of application now I did the running I did the walking I was wearing that for a whole day and I even rode. My motorcycle in this booth pretty good. Whenever it comes to the balance now, I am not entirely sure how you know scratch resistance, this toe tap of the toe yeah part is so you know, let me know in the comments below.

If you do know, if you have this boots, how are the last D or if you try to ride motorcycle in them? You know if you do ride a motorcycle. You already know that your left boot is gonna, be all scratched up if it’s not a good material, not a scratch resistant material. So, if you do know, let me know in the comments below I’d really appreciate it and the last one number eight is the price.

Now the price is like I said this particular pair is seventy-five dollars. It can get a little cheaper or a little bit more expensive, depending on the color that you pick and the size that you pick I think the price is amazing. For this well-made, boot I think it is pretty amazing. So in the conclusion survival you know it is really up there.

It’s really up there now I’ve done review on Salomon, GTX and they’re. Absolutely amazing boots. They they. They are so far number one on my list of survival boot, but this ones are pretty close and they are more than twice than cheaper than some. So it’s a pretty pretty tough competition and also I think they look really cool again.

Salomon looks pretty cool too, but if you want something that you know wearing in town that you can wear in town and that look a little bit strange, this is pretty good good compared to Solomon because Solomon it kind of does look more, like you know, like a hiker type boot or like a survivalist type of hood. So if you don’t want that, this is a great choice.

Now the only things that I’m, not a big federal here, are this hooks. If you watch my Solomon review, I wasn’t a big fan of those in there as well, because here you have to kind of go through this hooks and I mean might not be a big deal or maybe there’s a special application why this hooks are placed on the boots. Let me know if you know in the comments below I’d appreciate it, but I would think probably would be better to have a hole in here, but again I might be wrong.

Maybe maybe there is a reason. There is an important reason why it’s it’s the hooks and not the holes, the strings. The tie strings are strings. Yeah, the the shoelace knot, strings shoelace, are are pretty thick, so they’re not going to be ripping anytime soon and really. Everything else is pretty good. I really love the I think the best of the features on this boots is the lightweight and the grippy bottom sole.

So what do you guys think? Let me know in the comments below if you did like if this, if this review was useful, please subscribe. This is a brand new channel and you know trying to trying to help people make good decisions buying products. We mostly do firearms and firearms accessories, but this is a whole brand-new section where we’re gonna do the ultimate survival gear, obviously starting from the boots, because you have to have a good ultimate survival boots.

So don’t forget to subscribe and I’ll see you guys in the next video.

You my experience about the shoes, so so it actually exceeds my expectation. I did not expect that going down is gonna, be no pain at all. The only pain that I felt going down is the pain in my thighs, the pain on my legs, but my feet, no pain, it’s so comfy. The shoes really did its job, and since I have the wood type, it also protects.

My ankle going up and going down to those slippery sandy slippery rocks is a no big deal. I honestly recommend this hiking shoes if you’re considering and buying a new one, and one thing that I did with the hiking shoes is, I choose the neck size from my actual size. It gives more room to my feet. It’s more comfy, it’s a really good, buy it’s a really good product, I’m not affiliated with columbia or anything, I’m not endorsing them.

I am saying this based on my own experience. So good luck on your hiking, don’t forget to subscribe to our channel if you’re not subscribed yet bye.

Hello and welcome back to DAV Green another waterproof shoe for the common man. We are located in North Florida and today is evident of a not so sunny day. It’s actually quite cool that lows in the 30s tomorrow’s higher in the 50s. A need for a great shoe. However, today is not gonna. Be that day today’s gonna be a Columbia shoe.

The Newton Ridge plus to label on the box, looks like this. As you can see, I wear 11 and a half. This is the shoe. Yes, they do look beat up. Don’t they well we’re going into that detail in just a few minutes. I am wearing Columbia gear today and I will tell you: I love their clothes. We actually go to the outlet malls and find quite a good deals on the only outlet clothes.

This is their best. Wonderful, warm, pure zipper, waterproof love, it works fantastic. However, these pair of shoes are failed. Now, I did see a number of reviews online that purport it to be somewhere above the fours out of 5 I know rankings are all relative. That’s why I don’t give out numbers to me. They’re! All personal and I say whether I like them or I, don’t to pass or fail this shoe and other shoes that I’ve worn by Columbia are fantastic at the beginning.

However, this one has failed over time. I’ve had this shoe for about six months and again, I walk a lot of miles. As you know, I probably do somewhere in the range of about 60 miles a week. Sometimes more and I wore my shoes casually as well. This is the Newton ridge plus -. It is a waterproof shoe and when I first got this shoe, the unboxing was fantastic.

Put my foot right in it as most Columbia’s have a nice full foot, ample of room, nice, clean heel, box, nice and tight, closes and secures right around it. I love it. It’s got a nice brass metal for the hooks for your laces and it felt nice and secure full Eevee a phone all the way around soft and comfortable, not hard like some of the other shoes, nice and bendable.

It does bend a little bit, maybe not too much, but just enough to where you feel that comfort on the give all around rocks or entrails over trees stumps, you name it Clem bees website has a lot of material on this being waterproof, go through the muck, the mud, the trails yep. You can do that if you only want it to last for a couple of months.

This shoe, unlike other shoes, and perhaps why should say the more expensive shoes you 140 hundred 30 and lower usually have a leather called PU leather. So when leather comes from a cow, it’s usually split and have two different hides, so this becoming PU leather, which also would go to like furniture, handbags belts, P leather is polyurethane embossed or impregnated and fused whatever you want to call it, however, you want to state it, and basically it’s a very, very thin leather.

Some become thicker on this shoe. It’s very thin. Pu leather, however, does not hold up over time. It does not become soft and subtle, like other leathers, like top grain leather wood, which is the best part of the leather. This, however, is the leftover when they cut that leather for top grain, whatever they’re using it for the shoe has leather, it has suede and it does have some mesh material here.

This is also leather. Again, it’s a PU leather, so how they get. That is when they infuse the nice PU leather with polyurethane. They can then stamp it. However, they want you’re gonna see these shoes are beat up quite a bit and I’m gonna tell you why I use these primarily over I would say the the late fall late summer early fall all the way through recently and I, put a lot of miles on these and again I’ve gone through a lot of shoes, I flipped, quite a bit just so I can test them out for you guys.

This shoe, however, failed in a number of ways and I’ll tell you why, when you review these shoes, when you look up other reviews, static reviews on the named brand websites, where you buy your shoes, they’re gonna give you good reviews, and those are usually shoes. Reviews done within the first few weeks of the shoe. This shoe is time tested and true.

What ended up happening was. This is so thin. This PU leather I mean millimeters thin. As you can see the major crack right there I actually had to glue it. I actually use some rubber compound on there to keep it, and you can see the split right there. Look how thin that is now. You can really see it really cheap and it is over another piece of mesh material on the inside pardon for the helicopter flying over there.

But again it is really thin and it did not hold up well. I actually had to take these shoes and I use camp dry on some of this stuff and I. Try to use moisturizing shoe shoe soap so that it remains soft and subtle. The problem is, is that these shoes over time, like most PU leathers crack and they cracked along the line, as you can see, I mean cracked all the way through here, they’ve been glued and you can actually see it separating from its material that it was bonded to which is like a mesh like material on the end on the inside of the shoe.

This does have full board lasting all the way down. Again it is a V, a foamed, fantastic foam, fantastic feel it has what they call their omni grip. They call it a fancy name like all of them. Do it is. It is a nice grip it wore soft. It is a soft compound. It wear will wear very quickly if you’re wearing these a couple days a week or maybe a day on the once a month on the weekend, just to go trail, hiking they’ll, probably last you six to eight months.

If you’re a worker like me working out in the elements they will not. Last you more than three or four months like these did I kept trying to glue them. I kept trying to prepare them. I kept trying to keep them going, but what can you expect out of an $80 00 shoe yep? That’s right! 80 bucks, good, buy these addicts, Zappos Amazon Academy sports I mean you name.

It Columbia outlet even sells these for 80 bucks and they come in different colors as well comes with a nice black. The shoe actually become actually is suede as well: full full suede instead of the soft PU leather and again just so that we understand this is not top green leather. This is PU leather, polyurethane, infused, leather, that’s what this is basic shoe, it’s a basic fit.

It looks great. It does feel good when you first put it on, but I will tell you. This is a stinker and this shoe is a fail from an endurance standpoint. If you want something to look good and last you for a few months or a year, and you wear it only a couple times- that’s fine, but look at the endurance. Look what happened here! It’s appealing here, all the way around softie va foam as comfortable.

It is it’s not very durable, I wore through these very quickly. You can see where my heel strike is. It does have a nice lift, as you can see a little lift. There does have a nice nice lift in the front. It does not have much of a toe bumper, so much, but just a a front toe box. Bumper itself does not protect the toes at all. It’s a very soft inside very comforting, very comforting, full foamed leather tongue.

Here it is fully gusseted, as you can see as well and again, they’re claiming this is their waterproof shoe. It was waterproof for the first few times I warrant I did not find it to be overly. You know excellent in that category, but again, if you’re, just wearing it around town and want to look snazzy and going between the clubs, probably a good fit for you.

If your weekend holiday are going to buy furniture with your wife that IKEA or something it’ll work for you, are you working on construction? It’s a fail. Are you a landscaper looking to get more than two to three months out of it? It’s a fail: I love, Columbia, I, wear their clothes. I have a number of their products, but, however, this is a fail, and again this is the Newton ridge plus to this is Douglas d, a b Greene escapes here in north again.

This is my viewpoint. This shoe a complete and utter fail comfortable at first later on. It’s a fail for those that need a good working shoe. So again, I got one more Columbia, that’s actually a good shoe and that’ll be in my next video thanks for watching. Please write comments, good or bad I. Take them all and anything else I can review for you.

As far as the waterproof variety goes, some suggestions, you think about getting a shoe, send it to me: I’ll, buy it. Wear it and I’ll. Tell you how what it’s like from unboxing all the way through fit finished through the rain, the storms, you name it. This is Douglas Brown’s, DAV green escapes, thanks for watching I, know.

America and today we have another pair of boots from Colombia, and this is yet again the Newton reach, plus two, but this time in suede now this review that I’m doing is specifically for a few of my viewers who asked me about this particular boot and how they are different from the boots that I have already reviewed, which were a regular non suede.

This is just a leather, but but I decided to do this review yet again, just because these honestly are one of my favorite boots. In fact, this is one of the boots that I, you know. After doing, a review I actually decided to keep- and this is this is my this is my personal pair go to pair and, as you can see, they are practically 100% identical, not not practically.

They are identical, except this part right here of these ones is the suede, which is you know, which is the same leather, but it’s just the other side of the leather that they use to give that fuzzy appearance. So, let’s do the review on this boots as I’ve mentioned. This is one of my favorites. Just because of the price. Affordability is absolutely amazing.

The comfort is amazing. They are fairly light for the hiking. The traction I love pretty much everything about this boots and as we go along, I will compare the two just to you know help you see that they’re identical boots, except for the fact that this is suede right here. Ok, so as you guys, some of you guys already know this. We do the reviews here specifically for ultimate survival boots section where we talk about several different criterias.

In fact, eight different criterias, the first one being the comfort level and in order to test the comfort level I, do the five-mile walk and a three-mile run wearing the boots for about seven to eight hours total, and let me tell you guys: this boots are extremely comfortable. I, absolutely love the comfort level of these boots. Now you will be surprised whenever you get them out of the box.

You will be surprised because there isn’t really anything fancy about the inner sole here. It’s not any fancy. Orthopedic, inner sole, which takes all the impact- it’s not ortho light, it’s not even jelly I, don’t think it’s it’s jelly at all. You know it’s, it might be a little bit chilly, but it’s it’s very hard, very, very hard inner sole, but but surprisingly, this inner sole is capable of taking a lot of impact.

Whenever you are running and I guess it has to do with the flexibility of the bottom sole. It is very easy to run in this boot so running in this boot. It was you know, absolute breeze, so on the comfort level, I, don’t remember what I gave this boot before, but I would give a solid nine out of ten and I. Think in the price range that they’re at which we will talk about the price later I think that’s pretty pretty amazing, and this is the same exact thing.

If you want to compare with the other pair, it’s exactly the same. Inner sole feels exactly the same. Like I said they are 100% identical. Let’s see, yep the bottom sole is identical to all right. So let’s talk about the proofing, that’s the number two proofing and protection. So whenever it comes to proofing, this boots are waterproof, which is nice.

You know for your hiking boot. You want them to be waterproof. As you can see, there is this match going between the tongue and the shaft that will prevent some water. Getting in you know, if you get into the puddle about I, don’t know four inches deep, pretty good. You know for a mid-sized boot. It is pretty good. Whenever it comes to the protection there isn’t really much on the toe.

The toe is soft, just like on the on the other ones, the heel, it does have a heart. You know that that is pretty. It does have a heart sort of a construction here on the back, so you know any impact from the back. You will be protected. The ankle does not have a lot, but still it does have that soft mesh going. So it does offer a little bit of protection, but not much.

Nothing I will rely on all right. Let’s talk about number three quality and the design features now. Quality. Usually I. Point out to Amazon reviews which this guys, by the way they do have a lot of reviews on Amazon this particular the suede ones. They have 200 something reviews almost 5 stars, but the you know the original Colombia’s Newton reach.

They have I believe about 2000 reviews, and the reviews are just just amazing, so and I I personally can speak for for the quality, because I had them for about I, don’t know a year now and they just been places and they never. Let me down on a whole bunch of different trails, different terrains, absolutely fantastic. Whenever it comes to comfort whenever it comes to traction stability, all of those sort of things, so the quality wise, they are pretty good, they built they are built pretty nicely.

Now. The design features a few things that I wanted to mention. The the hardware here is metal, which does add up a little bit to the weight. But not you know not nothing really substantial to you, know slow you down or make it really heavy or anything. The open hood construction here is specifically for that fast tightening, which is you know typical for hiking boots, which is pretty nice alright.

So, let’s move on to the next carry category, which is the number four outsole traction and stability. So, as I have mentioned already, the traction of this boot is pretty good its. It has to do with this very, very unique I think it is it’s very cool, outsole design because it features both the you know aggressive side of the sole, but at the same time it is sort of flat in a way so you’re not gonna, be stuck in the surfaces like sand, for example, but at the same time it will allow you to just speed through slippery surfaces like a wet grass, for example, because it does have that aggression which is I, think it’s very nice and used as you can see.

It does come out on the side here. So I I think just the design is, is pretty smart whenever it comes to the bottle. So now the stability wise is is pretty fantastic as well as as I mentioned. There isn’t much support here, because this area is soft, but there is some support for the hill, but again because the bottom sole is pretty flexible.

As you can see, it is very easy to you know not put too much stress on your knees and your ankles I think that that’s pretty good number five is the temperature now, as as some of you already know, because I live in Florida, it’s hard for me to test this boot in colder temperature, but but luckily, because I own, a pair I, was able to test this boot in some freezing temperatures in Tennessee, yes and yeah, they hold they.

They are pretty good. Now it wasn’t really I think it was about minus 10, which I know for some people is not cold enough at all. So I understand that yes, but I’m a Florida, and for me it’s absolutely freezing, but nevertheless you know with with some warm socks. They did job fantastically whenever it comes to hot temperatures. Yes, I do live in Florida once again, I’m saying walking in this boots in Florida heat, 100 degrees weather feels completely fine.

They have a great ventilation and my feet: they do not overheat at all, so pretty good whenever it comes to the temperature. Now, let’s talk a little bit about the sizing now, typically I get my boots in a half a size bigger, but because back when I was actually getting this boot. Whenever I was buying this bush, they did not have the size.

10 I ended up buying my actual size, 9 and a half. Now the typical recommendation, which I heard from a few of my more experienced hiker friends, is to get a half a size, bigger hiking boot, because it allows that extra. You know to protect you from the impact whenever you’re going down the hill to protect your toe from hitting the front of the toll on the boot, but I bought the 9 and a half for myself.

This boots are nine and a half, and they did. The fitment is fantastic. They did not. They did not hurt my toe so far as much as I’ve been hiking. If I could replace them to attend I would so, if you do consider this boot get half a size bigger. Just a good recommendation, but overall they are definitely true to the size. So definitely good in that department.

Number seven I think is the most important one whenever it comes to the ultimate survival boot section, it’s the balance of application. Now, whenever it comes to balance of application, what it is about is how well would this boot be? If you just had to run out of your house and run for a very long time, walk for a very long time. You know maybe climb something different terrains, different temperatures overall, how would they be as that? How well you know how good of a that lasts ultimate survival boot? They are I.

Think this boots is a great option because they do feature a lot of things. You know the bottom. Sole is fantastic. There isn’t a lot of protection here. However, it’s always that balance between sacrificing that you know, protection for mobility and speed and, at the same time, sacrificing their mobility and speed for more protection with you know, with a composite toe, for example, or with some heavier plastic going.

You know down the ankle area to protect your ankles stuff. Like that obviously adds on to the weight and weight, obviously which restricts your movement and stuff like that, so I think, overall, whenever it comes to that balance, it’s more of a personal preference. If you want more mobility, you will love this book. If you want more protection, you might look around a little bit more, but to me I think this boots are definitely in the top 10 out of all the boots.

So far that I reviewed this channel and I reviewed a lot so far, but definitely in the top 10 on that ultimate survival. Boot section, hey, you know, after all, I I did I did get a pair for myself. So you know if that doesn’t say something right. Number eight number eight I think you’re gonna, like the most whenever it comes to this boot is the price.

Yes, I think this boots are one of the most competitive price wise on the Amazon. Whenever it comes to hiking boots, the price is absolutely fantastic. You can buy this boots for about $50. Now this particular pair was about 75 dollars, which is what my boots were. Whenever I was buying them, but that’s really depends on the size and it depends on the color, but they do start at $50, which is honestly, is just extremely hard to compete with all of the features with all of the lightness and everything these boots offer with the comfort level.

It’s you know, there are boots that can compete with that that there are boots that can compete with quality with the lightness with the features you know, there are some boots out there, which are fantastic with great traction very similar to this, maybe even a little bit better, not by a lot just a little bit but price-wise. They will be.

You know two three times more expensive than visibles, so Columbia did absolutely fantastic jobs whenever I don’t know how they did it, but they did it. So what do you guys think about this boost? What do you guys think about the suede now I do like the suede honestly, if I had the choice between the two boots yet again to buy I really doesn’t matter to me, which one I would get.

You know I think they both look fantastic, whether suede or not, suede. In fact, this is sort of a shiny surface. This is not really a shiny surface as more of a fuzzy surface. As you can see, the only thing I would do differently, like I said, is I would get half a size, bigger, not nine and a half which is my exercise, but ten, so I can get that a little bit of that extra.

So definitely do that. That would be really helpful, but other than that, you know, if you guys, you know- probably not wondering any more by now, but there are absolutely no difference. The only difference is that suede surface. So what do you guys think? Let me know in the comments below if this review was helpful. Let me know click that, like button subscribe button, whatever button you will see out there.

Hey there what’s going on, my name is Adam, and this is the Newton Ridge Plus Columbia. This hiking boot is made with a full grain, leather and suede upper. It’s got scratch rubber, as well as mesh upper material. So it’s nice and durable. You do have a full lace-up closure. I love the color of the laces as well tons of padding in the tongue and collar for comfort, a nice breathable fabric lining to keep your feet feeling cool, plus you’ve got a textile footbed for comfort.

It’s gonna rest on a lightweight Technic sole. That gives you long lasting comfort, cushioning as well as high energy return. It’s all going to rest on a non-marking, omni grip. Rubber outsole gives you a nice traction, that’s reliable in those wet and dry conditions, get ready to style up your hiking experience with these super cute hiking boots from Columbia.

And so we’re gonna open it up. Let’s just pop: let’s open up the package: okay, so columbia, www, columbia, com, columbia, all right! So, let’s see what they look like: quality control, number, 11. Okay, I guess that’s a sticker for a quality control per inspector who inspects the box. I guess the boots pretty good thread and uh.

It can look like the right size, boot, white side, boot and the left foot boot, look pretty solid supposed to be waterproof, and so I’m gonna put them on after stuffing from the inside of the boot that they put in there all the time, and this one is pretty hard to get out of there. Okay, so there’s the tongue made in vietnam because nothing gets made united states.

I feel like it’s pretty comfortable, I feel like they’re, pretty solidly made and so uh, hopefully it’ll work out well and last a long time. I do a lot of hiking and I wear off these boots quite quickly. All right boots, okay, so fairly comfortable time to go for a hike all right.

Over the years, I have worn many different pairs of boots. I’ve had different brands, I had Red Wings so forth, but one of my favorite pairs have been these sort of asks. How do we pronounce their name and I really enjoyed them? They worked really really well. However, one of the things I noticed that it doesn’t work so well on them is that the soul begins to separate over time, especially with the walking that I do, and so you see this boot separation and then on this beauty shoe it.

Well, it’s for separation on this side- and this is a major separation, then here on the bottom yeah in the back as well. Also on this pair, this was a second pair that I had about it used, and so this part here he started to separate from the top. So I had to go in with needle and thread and set you back together and, as you can see, it’s starting to come apart again, so you’ve really been a really good type of boot, but I wanted to try something different because well, the soles just keep lying apart.

I never seem to wear out the bottoms of one of the bottoms of only one pair got like three or four pairs. Everyone on the bottoms once verse, the times on the ether happens, but the uppers like here, starting to separate of at this party or you have good separation, I’ve had used glue like Harbor Freight. It really fancy super glue to fix that. So inside tries a different type of boot. So sorry girl, with pair of colombia’s losses at Columbia, Newton enriched at where size 10 in most foods, like the Basques, are I wearing a size 10, so I thought I would try these like them.

So mr birthday, Amazon they’re, like $60, compared to the Boston for about 30 $240 with these. So one of the reasons I picked this particular boot. Was this part right here, as you can see, there’s not all these extra scenes like there are on the box, which are separating right here so I wanted something for what I do I would get wet a lot of chemicals on them. Sometimes so he wanted something that didn’t have that I also wanted waterproof, which these claiming to be.

They have a fairly nice sole that everybody liked at the Viper. So I love asks sent a really good shred I really liked, but these seem to be pretty good I wore them the other day, I’ve already worn them and they fit pretty nicely. I mean I’m impressed by them. So I’m gonna see I’m gonna. Try them out, see how well they work. They seem to be very nice I’m, not totally thrilled with the shoelaces, because they’re very thick.

It was very thick lace and it didn’t seem to hold it -. Well, while I was wearing it the other day, I was wearing it to kind of break them in get them. Try it on. This also does not have a removable insole. At least it doesn’t seem to be removable I’m, trying to pull it out and stop coming. So it’s some species, oh yeah disco, stuck though he’s just the basic basic insole and then to fancy about it. There’s a little firm, actually I’m gonna, try them without any additional insoles first and see if I like it, then come back and decide what I want to do.

If I want to do another type of insole in it, they seem to lace up really nice tight, nice and tight I like this. Here. It’s got the two shanks one right here and one farther up which I think the like, because I vas do that as well. They have them down low and then they actually two up top, which I really like I just wanna try something different. A little bit. Cheaper I ended up getting these fairly cheap because I use swag bucks, so I’m getting gift cards, you’re, free, I’m, gonna go waterproof from right now, actually and I.

Wear them in the next day or so. I will come back after how weird them the first time and I’ll show you what it looked like. Thank you overview if I like them for the day it where I’m working or, if I didn’t like that who so look back alright. A few days later, since I tried the Columbia Newton bridge boots and here’s what they look like, after being worn for a few hours, I think altogether, I ended up wearing them for balance 10 to 12 hours, I think over two days, I did the first day, I got them I wore them for about an hour, just walking around doing some things, but then actually walking walking and using them for with you.

I had bought them before I ended up like a Thursday and Friday doing about 10 to 12 hours combined for two days wearing them, so they they fit really well. The things I have been concerned about wear one. The laces I wasn’t certain that the laces would hold. You know sometimes laces when they get wet or when you’re walking. They start to stretch they come apart and you untie. So what was impressed with was the fact that he’s never untied.

Not only did they not in tight. You were actually almost impossible to get untied because, as you wore them, they attached we got tighter instead of getting looser and so I was impressed with that fact. I did have to adjust them a little bit throughout the two days, just because you had the brand new one thing that I did foolishly exhibition. There’s. Actually this shoe is this area through here, I think is a bit narrower then, on the vast that I’ve worn it.

So my foot got a little irritated with that and by the end of the day on Friday I had them off my feet as soon as I could he’s just starting to get a bit painful, but that was just my part tightening them a little bit too tight and eye catching that early enough. In the day, another thing I did do is I didn’t took the insole from the Fox that I have and I just went ahead and put those into the boot justice. It would fit a little bit more comfortably and it did a little bit softer on the inside, so that was awful, so overall, um I didn’t get them super wet I, think they got a little damp on Friday and I could feel a little bit of the the dampness for just like a little bit.

But when I took my socks off later in the day, they didn’t feel totally drenched. Reading like that and I’m really quite impressed with how they turn how they, how they felt a couple things. You just heard a bit different. The way this cinches up at the top. It’s a little bit different. This that’s a bit farther over if I’m used to so joining to I’m, trying to snag it with the lace when you’re trying to get it tied on I.

Did it wrong a couple times, but it got it figured out. Overall, they can read good boot. They definitely saw a softer later then some of the boots I’ve had in the past. So that was impressive. Begin, like they’re kind of waterproof I haven’t like stuck them in water, walk through anything majorly to see how they feel, but they were very, very comfortable. You know how, when you buy a new boot brand, you never tried you’re a little more timid with the way you walk in them.

That is something that I did with. These are a little more timid, not as aggressive walking them, as maybe I would be so I think in probably two weeks, we’ll see how much I really like them, but overall Columbia Newport, Newton, Newton, Newport camera now doesn’t say all them. I think it’s Newton Ridge boots waiting pressed with it. So we’ll come back in a few months, maybe in them see how they look and if I’m going to replace them.

Alright, thanks so much for watching guys, it’s the next time.

What’s going on there folks? Well, it’s getting to be that time. You know it’s getting to be that time. Time for some boots, yeah I’ve been getting a lot of questions lately about hey. You know the seasons coming up. You know what kind of boots do you wear? What do you recommend? You know so kind of gonna give my personal opinion my personal recommendation. Now you know people may disagree and you know that’s totally up to you. Everyone is title to their opinion, it’s my opinion and the boots.

I wear. You know for me, I’m, not one of those guys that really care about you know having steel-tipped. You know boots and you know just heavy heavy boots. You know I mean I, don’t really feel need to have steel. Toed boots, you know, I mean a lot of you, guys, wear em and that’s perfect and it works out great for you. You know everyone has their own their own features that they want out of their work boots. So now, if you remember last year, I did a video on these boots right here now these are the Timberland white ledge work boots.

Now, if you remember- and these were brand new last April- and this is what they look like now and I got through a whole season with these boots, and let me tell you, there’s really nothing. You know there’s starting to get a little shady here, but I mean I can easily I. Think probably make it through this season with these, and let me tell you: I: go through a pair of boots, sometimes two boots every year. If you saw my videos last year at a pair of global wins great boots.

Juan has them now he’s wearing them, but you know: I was using them just for sylco and I mean and they’re like totally just coming apart all over the place, but you know you get what you pay for, but you know the reason I want to talk about these boots. You know again, in my opinion, there’s no better boot out there I’ve been getting some questions on Instagram. Also about them. You know I absolutely love them. You know, and you know the hundred percent waterproof they’re really good.

Waterproof boots. You know they’re, probably not the best out there. You know, but I can tell you one thing. The reason why I wear these boots is because of the comfort I, don’t think, there’s a more comfortable boot out there they’re so light. You know I’m not into those heavy boots. You know, I, just don’t feel need for. Like heavy boots are uncomfortable I mean you know the steel tip steel toed, whatever I just I’d rather have comfort and waterproof protection.

You know you get out there in the morning. You got that morning. Dew, you know your feet get soaked now. You’ve got what what feet the whole day. So waterproof is very important to me and, as you can see, Timberland waterproof protection now the one issue with these boots there’s an issue, and it’s really has nothing to do with the boot, because they’re, absolutely tremendous I love them, but the fluctuation in price on these boots I did an update on these boots last year.

Just like a price update like on Amazon, because when I bought these boots now that’s the big thing. I got these for forty seven dollars. Okay, so I just checked around 15 minutes ago and now they’re 109 dollars so and you know I know: I recommended him to my man, new jersey customs. He got a pair when I did that update video, hey man, you got to get these because they’re on sale. Now you know there $47 and then you know what the next day there are a hundred nine and what’s really weird, is you know if you’re a size 12, you might be able to get these for like $49, but if your size 11 there are 109 if you’re a size 11 and a half there, 79 you’re a size 12 and a half there 88 your size 9 its $62.

So it’s a very weird fluctuation of price. With these boots, you know when I got these. You know the only reason I got a ten and a half was because you know the ten and a half was 47 and the 11 was like 92, so I got to ten and a half there ten and a half wide they fit perfect. Unbelievably, so I went with the ten and a half because they said it was cheaper, but they ended up fitting perfect. So you know: I fell in love with these boots. Man and I love the color there’s a couple different colors.

This is the color I recommend. You know when I did that video the update video. No, this is like last June. They had the black ones same exact boot again these were 49 bucks. So whenever these things go on sale, I I buy them, I, don’t I, don’t hesitate. I haven’t seen them on sale, but now, like you know, the summers come in and you know the spring and people go hiking and everything, so they might go on sale again and if they do I’m buying another pair because for $49 or $52 you know they’re.

Absolutely amazing, hopefully I don’t not a big black boot guyhnic guy, but they’re the same exact pair boots, they’re just a different color. Here’s the tread pattern on the bottom, really great grip on them. You know I just for the price, absolutely that there’s there’s nothing better out there, but you know they’re, not steel toed. So if you’re into those kind of boots, you know the major thing with these boots is to comfort. So that’s why I get them and that’s why so, then again, this would go over real quick again.

So these are the Timberland white ledge work boots again, I recommend them highly. You know, I figured that these would be destroyed and 2017 I’d be going to these, but I’m gonna start off with these and we’re gonna see how far we get with them. But you know, like I, said: if you’re interested I’m gonna have the link below the big thing is really what size you are. You know the fluctuation in the prices of these boots is absolutely insane and really Amazon is the only place.

You’re gonna get a good deal on them. You know sometimes I go on some of these sites and they’re pretty much straight forward. You know $99 $89, $109, I, guess Amazon, obviously they’re a huge huge company. They must buy these by the truckloads and I guess when they have over inventory. They cut the prices on these, but you know: you’re not gonna find a better boot for 50 60 70 dollars, I mean if it’s under 75 bucks I still recommend them.

Unbelievably, you know, obviously, when I get to their normal price of 199 I’m sure you can kind of get it good. Please yeah what I’m it Tonya is: I, really don’t like paying over $50 for a pair of work boots. You know because they’re really they’re just for work, you know comfort is very important. Obviously you don’t want to have an uncomfortable boot and a lot of you guys might say how you buy a good pair of boots. You know the last year, five years, instead of buying a new pair of a year very true, you know you have to kind of you know, but for me I, like the comfort of these.

So, to be honest with you, I don’t know if I’d ever leave these white ledge I know I, buy boots here and there just to buy them too, but as a work boot of what I’m gonna wear out and out in the field. These are what I I go it because the waterproof protection and the the comfort is just it’s unmatched I mean you can look inside here and check out the reviews on them. Guys you don’t have to just go. Buy me I mean on Amazon there’s hundreds and hundreds of reviews on them and I mean it’s a slam-dunk, but we got I.

Understand people don’t want to spend a lot of money on boots. So that’s why you know if you have to go up or down a size, I really wouldn’t worry about it. I mean, like I, said: I’m, usually, usually a 11. These are ten and a half. These are an 11 I. Don’t know why I switched, but I did for some strange reason, but the ten and a half fit me absolutely perfect. So you can kind of go down to size and you could probably go down to full size instead of a half because um you know they kind of just mold to your feet.

You know I I, don’t think. There’s gonna be an issue if you have to go up or down a size or half a size, but you know that’s up to you but anyway, just that’s an update and, like I said, if you’re interested I’ll have a link below and you can look around and check and see what they got all right comments, questions I’ll catch you in the next one.

Hi and welcome to- and this is a timberland kill reads- I hope I’m pronouncing it correctly. Keel reads: waterproof low hiker, medium brown, full grain shoe. I bought this a few months back, but I haven’t worn it. I’m unboxing it for the first time today. So this is a us10 mens. According to this, the original price was 559, but I got it for much lower, so I was looking for something which was waterproof and because, as you might be aware, I mean not.

Everyone will be aware. Malaysia has two where two uh two climb two weathers: either hot and humid or hot and wet. So you know and most of the time it’s raining, so I needed something to keep my feet dry. All the sneakers I have allowed somehow allow water to go in. So I have a boot, but you know it’s not you know comfortable or what they call it.

I don’t want to wear boots all the time you know, and it’s too hot, as I mentioned, so I bought this so uh. Not all boots are waterproof. So this is leather treated leather, so you have yeah it’s made in vietnam and you gotta work to light. It’s quite not heavy, it’s quite light, so yeah. So so it’s got a layer of timberland or to light okay say it says bsfb.

I have no idea what that means. So yeah you’ve got this. Like it’s closed up, so you know what the gun I think water can get in if it goes up till here, water will come in but at least you know, if you step in into a small puddle, you will be at least dry, so it says waterproof waterproof here. So you know most people are not aware, but not all timberland shoes are waterproof.

This is this is not heavy light. All right. Thank you for watching.

You never know when these things might go on sale. You.

You guys can see. I have the very first review of saliva boot. Yes now this brand has been recommended to me multiple times by you guys by my subscribers, and I have to say thank you very much for recommending this brand, because I am extremely extremely impressed. These are salewa, I hope, I’m pronouncing that correctly wildfire edge, gtx and, like I said these boots, are absolutely phenomenal. I absolutely love. Love love these boots. If you don’t have time to watch the whole review, I know I’m most likely going to be kind of on the longer side, because that’s what usually happens I get carried away, especially with the stuff that I really like all right.

Let me tell you guys: go ahead, get them you’re, not going to be disappointed. If you can afford in this price range, you are not going to be disappointed. The only the only more or less of a complaint that I can come up with for these boots is that they are not so easy to get in and out, not a huge deal there at all, but literally everything else. I am very impressed. So if you have time to watch the whole review, let’s get into it, as most of you already know, this review is not just a regular boot review.

This review is specifically for my. Let me get away get this box out of the way ultimate survival boots section. Yes, so if these hiking boots were your hiking boots and you were wearing them and something bad happened or maybe something bad happened, while you were in your house- and you had these boots hanging around because you were a badass hiker like that- I don’t know you have this in your house- something bad happened and you had to put them on and leave the house and then walk for miles and miles and then maybe run maybe climb, maybe even fight on the way to survive right.

Would these be good for your survival? Would these help you to survive? Well, let’s start, how do we make the judgment? We make the judgment based on eight different criteria? Let’s begin criteria number one of course, comfort level, one of the more important ones right, comfort level and in order to test the comfort level of all the boots and some hiking shoes trail running shoes that I review on this channel. I do a three mile run: no stopping and then a five mile walk right after again, no stopping no poison in between, and then I continue wearing um the boots or the shoes for the rest of the day, so that the total wear time is about eight hours, and I absolutely love the comfort level of these boots and there are a few factors that contribute to that comfort level: number one, of course, the weight.

Now, let’s see exactly how light or heavy these are now. This is size 10 and they are 17 8. I have to say very, very, very impressive, considering everything they offer all the protection that you get from them being the mid-size having the gtx waterproofing. The weight is definitely impressive. Now, in order to give you kind of like a reference number, usually I try to look for stuff that is under 20 ounce. The more under 20 ounce- it is the lighter, it’s gonna, feel the more you can walk the more you can run in those boots or shoes whatever and cover some distances without getting fatigued from the weight on your feet now the more over 20 ounce.

Obviously you start feeling that weight, so these are definitely well under 20 ounce, great job there saleva all right hope, I’m pronouncing that correct. Now there are a few other factors that contribute to the comfort level, one of them being the flexibility of the bottom, sole, of course, and uh. As you can see, the outsole is uh, looks very aggressive and impressive, which we will talk about it later, but nevertheless, in spite of everything that you’re getting in it, it’s still very, very, very flexible, so you can actually run properly in these boots without any problems.

Yes, keep that in mind pretty good. Of course, we have the inner sole that contributes to the comfort level, and let me take it out so that you can see exactly what it stands for, because it does have some support points which make your walk your hike way more comfortable than it could have been without them. As you can see, nothing really crazy over here um, but you do have this very nice heel, bat that keeps your heel in place whenever you’re walking and if you decide to run in your hiking boots, for whatever reason, if you’re running away from a bear or something this will definitely help as well.

The only thing that I wanted to mention here is uh. This is more for those people that prefer not to have a lot of cushioning the firmer type of boot, because this inner sole does not offer a lot of cushioning. As you can see, this is really just very, very thin, not much, and once you take it out, there is really no cushioning on the inside at all. It just goes straight into the harder outsole rubber. Keep that in mind all right, so not much cushioning, firmer, firmer, feel to the boot all right.

So overall, I love the comfort level. One more thing that I wanted to mention here before we move on to the next criteria is the inside of the toe box. While it does have some cushioning this material whenever it comes to this piece that gives you the protection. It is a harder rubber. So it’s very important to get this boot in the right size and maybe implement some thicker socks to give you the best comfort level possible that uh you can get from these boots alrighty so done with the criteria number one.

Let’s move on to the criteria. Number two proofing and protection now proofing wise these boots are gore-tex. Waterproof, which is great gtx, is an excellent waterproofing technology. It’s a special type of membrane that is implemented inside of the fabric, and it doesn’t really take away that much from the lightness of the boot, but at the same time it definitely does work and also it doesn’t take away from breathability as well worth mentioning here.

So pretty good, pretty good balance. The only thing that it does contribute is the price. Usually whenever you have a gore-tex stuff the boots or the shoes that are gortex waterproof, they tend to be on the pricier side. Uh. Let’s talk about the protection here again, I was very impressed with the protection that these boots do provide. I think this right here this tall cap is absolutely phenomenal. I wish literally everybody else had that um very good when, especially whenever you’re hiking on a rocky road, this can definitely save you from some unpleasant surprises right on the rocky road.

You do have some reinforced sides as well. As you can see, of course, the ankles you do have some protection not much. This is a still kind of thinner, padding but pretty tough fabric. So you do have some protection on the sides as well and, of course, your heel is reinforced. So, overall, whenever it comes to the weight and protection balance, I think saliva they did absolutely absolutely just perfect, perfect job. Let’s move on to the criteria number three now quality and the design features whenever it comes to quality.

Now saliva a lot of people know about them. Like I said this is my first review of that brand um. Now I’ve done a lot of other reviews of other boots and other brands popular brands. Um this I mean right out of the box right out of after the testing, definitely went up into my top 10 of all the boots that I have reviewed on this channel. Definitely in the top 10, and you can judge by some amazon reviews as well. The link by the way for the amazon is on in the description below.

There are currently more than 140 reviews on this booth and almost five stars. So people do like these boots a lot now whenever it comes to the design features. Usually I like to talk here about the lacing system, and I mean this is right here. Whenever it comes to string lacing system, not your you know boa or quick lace. Whenever it comes to the regular strings, this is the best I’ve seen I mean. Whoever designed this is a freaking genius seriously.

Just look at that. Look at these strings that are going along the sides right here and then this hook right here in the middle. That goes all the way. There’s a string, it’s an actual string, it’s actual system that does work goes all the way through the back of the heel coming to the other side, and what that does is whenever you’re tightening the boot. It not only tightens this, which it does nicely tighten it here, um very proportionately surprisingly, but it also tightens the boot throughout the whole body of it and in the back giving you I mean absolutely perfect.

Fitment, perfect comfort and great great support. I mean, like I said. Whoever designed this is is a freaking genius. The strings slide through the hardware very nicely very easily, probably because it’s a very good heavy duty plastic hardware that allows the strings to slide so easily. The strings themselves are pretty good to the round and thin. Just like the way I like them, and you do get a pair of open hooks at the top, which is typical for your hiking boots.

If you want to release the tension somewhere in the middle of the hike, which usually you would do when you are going up the hill- yes so yeah, you have that. I mean great great job here, saliva this this right here is just I mean I, I would recommend everybody else who, like other manufacturers to implement stuff like that copycat, go ahead copycat from this, because this is the best all right. Let’s move on to the criteria number four now outsole traction and stability and uh.

As you can see, this is uh more on the aggressive side. This is a this is more on aggressive side type of the outsole, but it’s not too complicated of the design. So you don’t really have anything getting stuck in between now. Whenever I do my testing, whenever I do the running and walking, I do it on a variety of different surfaces in order to test the outsole and see how it performs on the you know, in different terrains and uh, we’re talking about some tarmac, some old rat files, some sand dry sand, wet sand, dry grass, wet grass, some trail surface rocky road.

Marble and tile now the only complaint that I can say about this not really even a complaint is that this is a little bit loud on marble and tile. Wow big deal squeaky a little bit squeaky, all right, not a big deal at all, but everything else it performs very, very well. It gives you a good stability on slippery surfaces like wet grass, but at the same time on surfaces like wet sand. There isn’t really anything complicated in it where the sand can get stuck, so nothing really gets stuck in it in the groove, so great, absolutely excellent, excellent outsole! I do I do like it a lot now I would say, maybe I would like to see some ridges on the side just to give you a little bit of more stuff that these you know that this outsole can handle like climbing for for some reason, if you ever need to since we’re doing the um ultimate survival boot review anyway, uh, but overall, great great outsole.

Let’s move on to the criteria number five now temperature. Now, whenever it comes to the temperature, these are not winter boots. They are not designed to be winter boost; they don’t have really any kind of insulation. So there’s much point of mentioning how they’re gonna handle in the winter, although they are waterproof, and if you implement some insulated socks, you can probably get away with some colder temperatures and the outsole will definitely handle pretty good in the snow.

Now the ice obviously doesn’t really a lot of stuff that can handle out of the box on the ice unless it’s specifically the ice boot with some spikes uh but but like I said, because these are waterproof, because you know you can implement always the insulated socks and kind of have that you know source of warmth. You might be able to get away with some colder temperatures, but in the hot temperatures these are very nice very breathable. My feet did not overheat at all.

I was testing them in about 90 degrees, weather, so definitely great job their saliva again whenever it comes to overall balance. Let’s talk about the criteria number six now the sizing uh. These are definitely true to the size. Now the common practice is that you want to get half a size bigger whenever it comes to your hiking stuff whenever it comes to your boots, trail running shoes and stuff, like that, just to give yourself a little bit of the extra space in the toe box- and here it definitely definitely matters.

You do want to have a little bit of the extra space here because, like I said this harder rubber, you can feel it on the inside if you’re getting them as in the right size or smaller size. You’re, definitely going to feel this, and it’s not going to feel very pleasant. So in order to get the best, you know, the best out of the comfort of this boot make sure to get yourself half a size. Bigger will save you on that unnecessary fatigue. Let’s move on to the criteria number seven, the balance of application.

Now, if this really was your ultimate survival booth, would this be good uh? Would this contribute to to your survival or or not? Honestly, you know this this boot right here. I I’m really thankful to my subscribers for recommending this boot to me. Okay, this is definitely right up my alley. You know if, if, if there was a survival situation- and I had this boot- I’d be very happy- okay, I’ll be very happy and optimistic about my survival situation, at least whenever it comes to my shoe wear.

This is phenomenal amazing comfort level, even though, even though not a lot of um cushioning in the inner sole, I think maybe, if saliva implemented a little bit more cushioning in the inner sole, I think it would have been even better, but even even considering that just this lacing system that gives you unbelievably good support, um it just it just makes everything so much better great great stuff and uh lightweight, definitely lightweight great protection.

Gtx waterproofing and another thing that I kind of wanted to mention here is, even though you have all of this in the boot whenever you’re wearing it, it does not feel bulky at all. It almost feels like some of my puma sneakers and, if you’re familiar with puma sneakers they’re more of a narrow, slimmer, uh overall kind of smaller design, and this is what it kind of feels like whenever you’re fearing the wearing these and it’s a midsize hiking boot with a lot of protection with some gtx waterproofing, and I mean look at the outsole and it still feels so so kind of like small, on your feet in a good way, not like size-wise small, but not bulky at all, and that’s one of the problems that I come across with a lot of boots that I review on this channel.

Is that they’re good? They have all of this protection whatever, but they feel too bulky it’s almost like they take away from your mobility right. They make you slower, not this, not this at all, so great job celeb and the very last criterion uh here. That is worth mentioning the price they are currently running. Just above 200, like I said, the link is in the description below uh for amazon. The these these booths on amazon um, now a little bit more than 200.

That would be right up the alley of salomon quest, 4d or solomon quest, prime somewhere around that I think that’s definitely a fair price for everything that you’re getting in this boot. Is there a competition in there serious competition? Yes, like I just mentioned solomon quest for the great example kind of in in that uh in that same amazing department, right um, but but at the end of the day I think you have to look at the features individually, for example, this lacing system unbelievably fantastic and definitely beat anything that I have seen out there.

The support that you get from this boot definitely beats everything out there. So far that I have reviewed on this channel, so I mean it really comes down to personal preference. What is more important to you personally, so let me know in the comments below guys. What do you think about these boots? What do you think about this review? If you have any recommendations for reviews, definitely drop them in the comments below? Like you see it’s, it definitely helps.

You know some some things I discover for myself. Just thankfully, thanks to your recommendations, I mean yeah, this stuff’s pretty amazing. So thank you very much guys for watching this was firearms of america and I’ll see you guys in the next video.

Mid GTX boots, these advanced boots blur the line between the grip, eNOS of an approach shoe and the classic support and durability of a hiking boot. On top of that, these boots offer customizable lacing. To give you a precision, fit, let’s check out the details, Sulli will uses an anatomically friendly design called 3f. The system works with the asymmetrical shape of the real human foot instead of the mathematical models that engineers offer.

One component is a y-shaped design that spreads the lacing so that it hugs the entire instep and better stabilizes your foot. Overall, the 3f system results in better fit, which means that your feet move around less inside the shoe and develop fewer blisters. The uppers are a combination of suede leather and microfiber mesh, with a tough cage that wraps around the middle region of your foot. To give you excellent stability without inhibiting breathability, the cuff is strong enough to offer support and stability while still giving a comfortable forgiving fit.

Above the cuff, an integrated stretch, fabric gear helps to keep dust rocks and other trail debris out of your boots front. Rubber toe caps protect your toes from impacts with rocks and roots inside a waterproof breathable gore-tex membrane keeps your feet dry. The lacing system is similar to climbing Footwear, and that runs from the collar to the toes. This allows you to customize the lacing for your best fit. Additionally, the lacing can be adjusted to better suit different activities.

By pulling the laces tight, they move the heel forward, bringing the toes closer to the front of the boot. This is ideal for climbing in technical terrain. By relaxing the laces, you can move your heel back and give your toes more room, which is better for approach or hiking situations, an ETA midsole and a cushioned ortholite footbed work together to offer comfort and reduce fatigue on long trail days, a plate in the toe edge and provides stiffness that benefits your feet during climbing moves, without sacrificing the overall flexibility of the boots.

The panocha outsole has been treated with a unique compound to give the sticky grip you might expect from an approach shoe the lug patterning offers stability and traction in all kinds of terrain. These boots offer climbing ready features like a grippy outsole stiff, toes and extensive lacing, without neglecting the trail worthy details like lugs for traction, gore-tex for protection against water, anatomically, friendly design and a built in Gator.

That makes them ready for any hike, even if it gets you into technical terrain check out the men’s, wildfire edge, mid GTX boots from sallee WA for the full, specs and latest price click. Alp Flow Mid GTX is a trail worthy option for hikers and backpackers Let’s. Take a look at its features. Starting with the upper. We have got a hybrid nubuck, leather and ballistic mesh design. So. You have got nice durability with the nubuck on the top, and it is stitched in to this ballis-tic mesh and rubber bottom here. You can see. There is really nice perforation along the bottom. It is going to allow for really good breathability And. Even some of that nubuck leather is perforated as well.

We have got an asymmetric to the toe lacing system. To really dial in the fit. It is going to provide multiple options for different types of feet: So, no matter if you are narrow or wide footed. If you have high volume or low volume, you will get a really nice fit with these laces Under. This material there is a Gore-Tex surround technology, and that is kind of the big story with this boot The Gore-Tex surround is a fully waterproof breathable membrane, that is a 360 degree system So.

It provides breathability throughout the entire foot, not just the top, but also the bottom This venting on the side here kind of acts like a bellows system, So. Every time you step it is going to force warm air out of these ports here So, it is a really nice system. There is actually a spacer underneath that allows for that warm air to escape the bottom of the foot, as well as the top and the sides, and pretty much 360 de-grees of breathability So these shoes and this Gore-Tex surround, are going to offer a much better breathability than some other types of waterproof footwear.

You might find Some. Other features on the upper here are a 3F anatomical, shaping It is designed to work with the asymmetry of the foot to provide an optimum fit. It is going to reduce movement and reduce rubbing. So there is less of a chance that you will get a blister while wearing the Salewa shoes here. There is also a Y shaped wire that is integrated into the heel and up into the lacing system of this boot So. When you tie up and snug the laces, you are going to really lock in the heel and it is going to provide a really nice sturdy hold in the boot.

You have also got some nice ankle support here. It is also somewhat flexible So. It is going to offer you freedom of movement, but it is going to keep your foot nicely supported when you are on those really rocky or really off camber trails. So, you will feel nice and supported and comfortable without your movement being restricted. So nice features going on in the upper of the Alp Flow Moving down to the midsole. We have got a mid-stiff midsole So in the heel. We have got a nice cushioned, feel here So.

It is going to offer a lot of shock absorption and just overall comfort And. We have got some nylon inside the midsole, which is going to provide some stiffness protection from rocks and sharp objects, but also flexibility where you need it, So really good midsole there that is going to provide good cushion, but also good sup-port And, going down to the bottom. We have got our Vibram outsole. It is a Vibram hiking out sole with a Megagrip compound So. It is going to give you an optimum mix of flexibility and durability and traction on the trails And you can see.

There are some nice lugs there. It has got really good grip. You know directional traction And. It is the Salewa men’s Alp Flow Mid GTX, a durable, highly breathable piece of footwear for hiking and backpacking.

Durable and fully waterproof the Zombieland gear GTX is a great option for those extended outdoor adventures. Let’s take a look at its construction and its features. The upper of this boot is constructed with a Hydra block waxed leather upper with corduroy paneling, so you’ve got some opened panels there for enhanced breathability, but that waxed leather is going to give you supreme durability and it’s fully waterproof.

There is also a gore-tex waterproof breathable liner in the boot. So again, you’ve got full waterproof performance throughout the piece of footwear here. So if that leather started to wet out, you are still going to have waterproof performance with that gore-tex we’ve got high resistance treatment to the hardware here, so riveted eyelets all the way down.

It’s going to add a lot of durability. Make sure these boots last a really a long time, and it is a leather boot. It is kind of stiff, so it is going to require some bit of a break-in time to get comfortable and to really wear in and also with that leather, as I mentioned, it could possibly wet out. So it is a good idea to maintain the life of the boot and the overall performance to treat that leather, occasionally after a few uses or maybe a month or two of use to make sure you’re getting the maximum life out of the boot.

Those treatments, Andry waterproofing elements are sold separately, but definitely consider them when getting this boot. For the midsole of this boot Zombieland is using the Zombieland air system. It’s a really lightweight and airy midsole. That’s gonna allow for a lot of cushion and comfort. It’s also got a removable insole, so you can take that insole out.

It is a well cushioned, insole, nicely padded and very comfortable, but if you have an aftermarket insole that you’d rather use in the boots, you can certainly take that out and use your aftermarket insole. The outsole package of the boot is very durable and very rugged. You’ve got multiple different densities of polyurethane. Here, that’s going to give you excellent grip that Vibram comp it’s gonna, really shed any excess dirt, so their self cleaning lugs and in the midsole portion again we’ve got some TPU inserts to provide stability so really stiff, really rugged and durable, midsole and outsole package, while still allowing a lot of comfort while you’re on the trail.

So there you have it robust and durable, but with a sleek and traditional back packing boot design, it’s the Zombieland gear GTX. You.

With an array of features that are sure to appeal to hikers and backpackers Let’s, take a look at all of its features. The upper is a full synthetic upper with this nanocell technology. It is a really neat technology that opens up the upper to allow really good ventilation and breathability Under that there is actually a light weight. Air mesh which again it is going to be nice It, is going to be breathable. It is going to provide a lot of air flow and ventilation Under.

The synthetic materials there we have a Gore-Tex surround insert It is a really innovative piece from Gore-Tex. It is fully water. Proof breathable completely surrounds the foot, 360 degrees So. It is going to allow breathability from not only the top and sides, but also the bottom They have built in a spacer, with the mid sole portion of the shoe to allow that extra air to dump out from the bottom of the foot So. Essentially, with every step, it is like a bellows type effect and it just forces warm air out really allowing better ventilation- and you know it allows your foot to breathe better than some other water-proof breathable membranes.

So, really nice features in the upper there. You do have a gusseted tongue and a nice padded tongue at that So. You are going to get some extra comfort as well And some nice padding around the ankle of the shoe here So. It is going to give you good support, as well as a nice comfortable, fit So. Really nice upper features on the core In, the midsole. We do have a compression molded EVA mid sole with some TPU inserts for stabilization It is going to provide a good shock absorbing you know, feel and fit And.

Those TPU inserts are just going to give it a little bit more stability So. You can be confident and have confident traction on the trail, as well as protection underfoot from rocks or sharp objects. Moving to the out sole. We have got a Nanorubber outsole from Vibram. It is a nice light. Weight out. Sole It has got really flexible traction. There. It is going to give you confident grip on the trails. You have got some directional lugs here that are going to provide really good grip And in the heel.

We have actually got a really nice system here. It is Vibram’s impact brake system So. It is going to reduce the impact force by an average of 20 per-cent, while increasing your braking or stopping power by that same average of 20 percent So. If you need to stop quickly on the trail or come to a halt. For any reason, the design of this heel is really going to allow you to stop and stop quickly, So good grip, good stop-ping power and over all good traction on the out sole of this boot So.

There you have it. It is the La Sportiva men’s Core High GTX a super lightweight, flexible option that offers supreme breathability for hikers and backpackers.

So yeah we have a really wide range of three season boots that are extremely capable, really lightweight a lot of really awesome. Technologies been invested in these boots to make them as comfortable and lightweight and durable as possible and there’s a huge selection of boots depending on your objectives, so definitely something for for every everyone, so the trango tower extreme in the trango tower are fairly new to the LA Sportiva line.

The tower extreme is a fully rigid boot, so it’s it’s gonna ice climb, a lot better! It’s gonna provide a little bit more support. The trango tower is going to be basically an updated version of the old trango s evo. The the red boots that everyone’s so familiar with this is going to be a little bit lighter a little bit warmer and a little bit more durable, basically just trying to continue the evolution of the triangle- s evo with this boot.

This is gonna, be a little bit warmer a little bit stiffer and it’s gonna climb ice a little bit better. This can take crampons, but not fully rigid crampons. So you, you can’t really do any technical niceties. I mean you could try, but it wouldn’t be very successful, so yeah the the toe bells, different, totally different, sole way more layers on the bottom as well.

You can see so yeah. You would not be able to flex this boot at all. This is gonna, be a lot more comfortable on a long approach. This. This is more designed to do a really steep terrain where you need your foot totally flat and you don’t want to be flexing your foot over and over and over again. This is going to support your entire body weight.

So these these break in significantly and get pretty comfy and then the lighter version of the trango Tower. Is the triangle cube. So this is the triangle cube. This is the trango tower the trango cubes going to be a little bit lighter. It also has less materials going into the build, so there’s less stitching involved, there’s less areas that could potentially fail with use over time.

So this is actually a little bit lighter I think it’s a little bit more comfortable same last, so the fits gonna feel pretty identical your going to pay a little bit more, but I think regarding performance. It’s going to be a lot better. It also has a really cool adjustable tongue on the inside and that that really lets you dial in the fit and where you want the pressure coming from on top of your foot, you can also remove it at the end of the day.

If your foot swells a lot, you feel like you need some extra room, it’s nice to pull out the tongue. It also absorbs a lot of moisture, so you can help dry, the boot a little bit faster if you pull the tongues out. So that’s that’s a really nice feature on the Q, but aside from that, pretty much the same boot it’s gonna feel and perform just about the same.

This is just gonna, be a little bit more durable and a little bit lighter weight, both really really great three-season alpine boots, but these are the trango tex. So this this has a totally different shape from anything else. In the line. It’s got more of a blunt, rounded toe box, I think that’s gonna fit a lot of people really really nicely.

It feels more like a lightweight approach like guide level shoes, so I think guides that are taking people out on Rock are really really going to like the is fourth class scrambling I think these are going to be preferred, they’re, also gore-tex, so they’re waterproof, which really expands their application.

It has a really nice climbing zone built into the front of the boot there, so I think they’re gonna edge nicely they’ll jam nicely extremely lightweight. I think these are going to do extremely well kind of an extension of the approach category into the mountaineering category, gonna breathe the best I would say out of the entire mountaineering line.

These are. These are gonna feel like they’re they’re, the most breathable they’re, the lightest they’re, not gonna, be as warm for those reasons they don’t have as much insulation, so more designed for I would say, like spring/summer kind of high alpine environments, when, when you’re, not climbing, with climbing shoes on by doing 14, errs and fourth class scrambling and basically anything where you, you need to be prepared for encountering lots of different kinds of weather like afternoon, storms and things of that nature for, like totally mixed conditions, where it’s kind of more unpredictable- and you might be out for a few days- and you only want to bring one piece of footwear.

Then this would be the one for sure, thanks for watching I’m Allison, the founder of Weimer, AK and I am so stoked to let you know that we just launched mountaineering boots on Weimer act. That means that you can see every single boot that you just saw in this video and compare them to literally every single boot on the market.

The next category of mountain boots we are going to talk about is what we consider technical mountain boots and there’s quite a range in this spectrum of product. One of our phantom boots falls in this category, the Phantom Tech. It does have an external gaiter built-in, as you can see, but it’s a single boot, so there’s no removable liner in this one.

This boot is going to be quite a bit lighter and quite a bit more technical. So when you’re doing Alpine, climbing or technical ice climbing- or you just really need a lightweight- very nimble boot on your foot, the new Phantom Tech, which is updated for the second half of 2019- it’s kind of sits at the top end of our technical mountaineering boot category.

Here next we have a boot like the Mont Blanc Pro. So this boot, as you can see, he’s got a suede upper suede is a really super, durable material, so you’re going to get a long lifetime of a usage out of this boot with the suede. We’ve got a combination rand on this boot, so you’ve got rubber around the toe and the mid foot here and then you’ve got PU in the back.

The PU is actually a little bit lighter than the rubber still highly abrasion resistant, but the rubber, where we really take a lot of the abrasion on the boot. We put in the front a little bit heavier than PU, but we want that extra abrasion protection. This is a lightly insulated boot. So it’s got a 200 gram. Insulation package in the Mont Blanc Pro here and gore-tex membrane for waterproof protection men’s and women’s versions are available.

As you can see here, these are going to be fully automatic, crampon compatible, so we’ve got welts both at the heel and at the toe Vibram sole on the outside. So you’ve got friction as well as a durable compound for traction in the mountains. These boots are going to be spending a lot of time on snow on rock in crampons, and things like that.

So you really need a good, durable platform on the bottom and extra protection built into the upper as well. We do use what we call our sock fit construction as well on the Phantom tech, as well as the Mont Blanc Pro. So it’s a stretch, tongue construction, remove some of the bulk out of the top of the boot and lets it really wrap your foot. These boots by their nature are fairly stiff and supportive in the upper, because you need that protection and that support, but the sock fit construction actually makes the way it wraps over the top of your foot a little bit more comfortable and a little bit closer to the foot.

So you get a little bit more of a sort of technically precise fit with our sock fit construction in the collar of this boot, we’ve actually put in a little bit of TPU here that gets laminated to the upper, so it gives you a little bit more lateral support around the ankle cuff and then a little mini gaiter built in around the top to keep snow or or scree or a rock debris from getting into the boot.

So that’s the Mont Blanc Pro. Next we get into the Ribelle Tech. This is one of the the lightest most technical boots that we that we make. This was actually sort of a dream project of the late Ueli Steck, who helped us work on this boot. This boot is incredibly lightweight. It feels more like a lightweight hiking boot in your hand, and it does a mountain boot.

You can see. It’s got this sock type construction, so we’ve taken the sock, fit construction sort of to the to the extreme here and there actually is a sock inside the boot. So you pull it on. Just like a sock. You really get that really nice precise fit wraps around the ankle. It’s a little bit less ankle. Support like you would have, and so I could say a Mont Blanc Pro up here, because it’s a little bit softer, but it does allow you to have much more ankle articulation and for someone doing, you know kind of really fast and light objectives in the mountains.

This type of construction actually makes a lot of sense because it’s it’s just super nimble and agile. Of course, we do still use a Vibram outsole on the bottom. It’s a very supportive polyurethane lightweight polyurethane midsole, and this is a semi-automatic crampon compatibility. So you’ve got the the insert in the back, but not at the front so and then then a protective cover over the laces here to keep them from freezing up and keep them snow and ice out of the lace area in the front.

So that’s the Ribelle Tech as we get down into this side of the technical mountain boot collection, I would get into one of our more classic boots called the Charmoz. So this is also an all synthetic upper, so fabric and synthetic materials here in the upper you can see obviously rubber rand wrapping all the way around for extra protection. The the synthetic material is nice because it tends to absorb less moisture.

So it’s going to stay, lighter weight and just over time it’s going to not absorb moisture like sometimes suede can, if you’re out natural leather, if you’re out in a in the mountains for a long time or a really long day, the leather can sometimes wet out a little bit. Certainly, we do use waterproof suede leathers, but when lightweight is really more important to you than extra durability, something like the Charmoz with an all synthetic upper might be the right choice.

Multi density, midsole, here of polyurethane and EVA, gives you lightweight, support and cushioning, underneath, if you’re carrying a heavy pack or for long days in the mountains, the Vibram outsole on the bottom and then a nice quick lacing system here to allow this to really cinch up. It’s actually got a locking d-ring here as well, so you can lace it up in a zone configuration where it’s tighter here on the forefoot, but maybe you want it a little bit looser up around the cuff or for extra articulation there.

So the Charmoz comes in both men’s and women’s versions. Here, at the lighter end of the technical mountain boot spectrum, we have the zodiac tech. This is actually a bit of a hybrid between a some of the features you would find in a typical approach shoe or a light technical mountain boot. You can see here it does come up over the ankle. You’ve got a little bit of a gaiter kind of built in here again to keep screen or rocks or things out at the top.

But when you look at it this way it looks more like sort of a burly approach. Shoe laces to the toe you’ve got a rubber toe Rand protection around about two-thirds of the boot here. The bottom actually has a much more substantial sole than you would normally find on an approach to you. So you’ve got extra support and protection underneath as well as a little bit more aggressive outsole than you would normally find on an approach shoe.

So it’s a mountain boot type of outsole and platform, with a little bit more of a lightweight flexible upper in it. So again, lace to the toe you’re gonna get a really nice precise, fit there. It does have our sock fit construction and the tongue as well. So you get a really nice fit over the top of the foot, but if you’re going to be climbing spending a lot of time on alpine rock or things like that technical faces, but you need the ability to also put a crampon on from time to time.

You can find that in the zodiac tech, which is a really lightweight package, that really is kind of a hybrid between a mountain boot and an approach shoe it’s available in the men’s version and a women’s version as well. So this boot is actually almost a hybrid between a high-top approach shoe and a light mountain boot. So a lot of guides really like this boot.

It’s super lightweight, it’s very precise. It laces down closer to the toe like you would find in your typical approach shoe, but it’s stiffer underfoot and got a little bit more aggressive, outsole and more durability in this outsole rubber compound. But yet you can still do technical, Alpine, climbing you can put a crampon on it. It’s got the insert in the heel, so semi-automatic crampon will go on this boot, but if you’re going to spend a lot of time on rock in addition to needing to put crampons on from time to time, the rubella tech might be the boot for you, thanks for watching I’m Alison, the founder of WeighMyRack and I’m so stoked to let you know that we just added mountaineering boots to WeighMyRack.

This is been a long time coming and it means that you can now compare every single mountaineering boot that you saw in this video to literally every single mountaineering boot on the market. There will be a link in the description and, if you have any questions along the way, write them in the comments and we’ll work to get you some answers.
