This is Dennis with second chance tackle. And I’m gonna do a product review today. One of my customers asked. Icould pick them up a pen squaw lover real drag system. Ithought that would be a good opportunity to share the characteristics of. This reel with this is a beautiful reel it’s meant for trolling very high capacity single speed not a dual speed real but. It is a single lever drag with the features you’ve come to enjoy with lever drag which is the strike setting and then the full setting off of. That’s fully adjustable with the reel. This is a nice-looking reel it’s a high-capacity reel little handle approximately 500 yards of 40 pound mono filament. And over a thousand yards of 65 pound grades so. If you’re out on the ocean. And trolling or in the Great Lakes. You want to let a lotta line out that’s. One of the beauties of. This reel it’s got the patent quality behind. It’s a stainless steel main. And pinion gear it’s got six ball bearings. Some neat little features in there’s a. What they call a switch blade harness slug which it’s on. Both sides here it simply works by pulling it up. And then locking in your fighting harness on. Both sides you choose not to fight the heart use the fighting harness. It simply just presses back down for.

That also on the non-drive side there’re three levels of click. This quiet there’s a muted click. And then as a focal depending on how. You want to set this reel a lot. It retails for about a hundred. And fifty dollars you can probably pick them on eBay for maybe a little bit less but not a lot. This one’s depends on squirrel sixty lover drag. Iwould recommend this is the type of product. That you’re in the market for it’s got a forged aluminum spool so you’re not going to get too much in terms of corrosion on. One it’s got a graphite frame which makes. It lights graphite side plates but again it’s got a nice drag system. Some convenience features lightweight to use four-point-three retrieve ratio which is a nice size per turn kind of thing and kind of ideal for ocean. Or great length rolling so. That helps you a little bit.

If you’re considering buying one of these it’s a nice product it’s right in the middle of the class in terms of lever drags. You would step up to the Penn International System which is the full metal reel from here but. If you’re if you’re doing 75 pound tuna there’s no reason in the world. That a reel like this wouldn’t last. You a long time right it’s gonna take a beating it’s readily serviceable it’s a nice medium level reel for the Louisville drag series. Iwould recommend you checking out at least putting it on their in terms of the ones. You would consider if you’re considering buying a trolling we go with the lever drive system. That helps I’ve been doing this. Now for over 20 years I’m sharing my experiences with. You on my youtube channel. You like this please indicate. You like product reviews. If you’d like to see. How reels are repaired then I’d ask. You to subscribe to my channel as. Ifrequently post updates to. That with both product reviews. And reel repair thanks for watching again.

This is Dennis with seconds tackle.

hi my Christ pin brand manager. Iwant to talk to you about a product launch. We have coming out fall 2013 so think back to fall 2011. We launched the squall single-speed leopard rice came out with a 30 40 50. And 60 size we’re essentially coming out with the bigger brothers to the squall single-speed, so we’re coming out with a squall two speeds we’re gonna offer in the three. Most common big-game sizes so. We have a 16 30 wide. And a 50 wide these sizes are similar to our international reels. They hold the same amount of line so. These are what we consider big game reel so roughly a thousand yards of mono filament so the 16 holds roughly a thousand yards a 16 pound test the squall 30 holds a thousand yards a 30. And so on and so forth with 50 you’ll notice. Some other things that have trickled down from the international series into the squall lever drag to speed. We have a ratcheted drag lever here so the ratchet helps prevent the drag from sliding during the day rough water lots of bouncing around sometimes the lever has a tendency.

That to slip back the preset also has a detent system which keeps. It from removing so very similar to the internationals. We also use a dura drag system so the dirt drive materials are proprietary drag material the best material. We can put on a lever drag. And we’ve got that in the internationals. We also have that in the squall to speed. We have our quick shift system here so. These are two speed rules obviously so in. And out of high and low don’t. Even have to take your hands off the handle knob there’s no reason to be doing. When you’re fighting a big fish in. And out of gear you can see the bumped out gearbox here so inside our stainless steel main gears. And a stainless steel opinion so machined from stainless steel the same type of material. We use in our internationals the best. You can buy pin prides itself on our gear train.

This is 100% stainless steel gear train other. You know all the models have lugs. All have a bay clicker for stainless steel shielded ball bearings so again. This is the squall lever drag to speed series. We have a 16 vs 30 BSW 50 vs w. And we’re at 250 retail 300 retail. And 350 retail I’m Mike rice. This is a squall lever drag to speed you.

Hey it’s Josh over at J. And H day we’re taking a look at the brand-new pen squall SQL for TL d LH lever drag reel. This is a brand-new from pence the left-handed lever drag reel which is really nice. Ialways love when manufacturers make stuff for the lefties I’m not a lefty but. Iknow a lot of you guys are. That you’re always looking for high quality gear with a left-handed retrieve here. This is no different. This is a really nice reel from pen it’s its an. All graphite body with a little bit of metal to back. It up it’s got the nice aluminum spool on. It so it’s going to hold up really well it’s like. Isaid it’s a 40 size. It puts out 18 pounds of drag at max it’s got a five-point 1 to 1 gear ratio. And hold 625 yards of 65 pound braid weighs in a twenty point nine ounces so it’s pretty light for its size. And it’s got six ball bearings being it really smooth so.

If you’re looking for a gig in reel. You want a one speed leave a drag reel. And your lefty this is definitely. Something to take a look at the cost is only 150 nine ninety-five so for the cost of a. You know like an avid SX. You can get a much larger reel with. More drag really smooth for the same money. Another neat feature on. This reels that actually see the second notch here the same notch is actually under here. You can actually move the handle to make. It longer or shorter so right. Now it’s in the longer position but. You could make it shorter. You wanted to so it’s really versatile it’s great for like. Isaid jigging or you want to do. Some light rolling you can definitely use. This reel it’s got enough power the lever direct system is nice it’s low which at first. Ididn’t think I would like but upon playing with.

And realizing you know. Something happen with the line it’s definitely not going to get caught on. This lowly row drag system it’s going to prevent. Any loss of big fish so like. If you’re left-handed. And you’re looking for a really nice leave a drag reel. Something light you can fish with. All day definitely check out the pen squall SQL for TLD LH @ JH com.

hi everybody ed Berger from the tackle direct Pro staff welcome back from our video library for another one of our really informative sessions on something that you’re familiar looking at that’s

Hey it’s Josh over J. And H today we’re taking a look at the quantum cabo pts spinning reels. This is the CSP 50 PTSD so. This is the second size in the series of the second smaller size in series it’s basically identical to the 40 except it’s got a deeper cut spool so the weights around the same. You know this is um fourteen point. One ounces while the 4000 is 309. If you’ve seen the cobbles before. You know the 2012 or sooner. This series this reel is totally different quantum completely rebuilt. These reels from the ground up the only thing. They have in common is. They share the same name so. What you’re getting out of the new Cabo versa Knoll Cabo is stronger gearing a better alignment of gearing and bearings to make for a stronger reel better drag system smoother reel. Everything is just improved it’s got eight ball bearings so it’s nice and smooth the drag system is sealed. You can see it’s got the infinite system right here fully sealed. You know puts out 35 pounds of drag so. This is made to be like. You know an inshore saltwater spinning reel. It puts out 35 pounds of drag which is pretty sick handle goes on. Either side you could switch. It over it’s a handle screws out. And a lot of guys like to know. If it’s a screw out. If there’s a piece over here. This just screws right off that’s just. One piece and the cap can come off. You can swap switch. It over it’s got to seal them to reverse so. You have to worry about getting water in there. And having a failure of your answer reverse.

While you’re fishing 53 to 1 gear ratio. And it’s just a great all-around reel holds 225 yards of 50 pound braid you’re still fishing with mono. That translates to 225 of 12 pound test you’re gonna get a lot of line on here it’s definitely a good shot good a good option for those guys who fish inshore. You know you could totally use for a big freshwater. You want but it is designed to be a saltwater reel a lot of companies are using blue was a color for saltwater so that’s. You know that it’s a saltwater eel then the fact. That it’s puts out 35 pounds of drag should give. You a little hint as to. What it is it’s got the nice titanium bail system. You know companies do different bails. One is a softer more pliable bail as opposed to like air bails. You find on Gaia’s or Shimano’s. It holds up really well it’s a similar to the bail. That was on the old model guys have been fishing this type of ale for a long time no problems.

They hold up really well no problem with. You know tripping by accident. You won’t have that problem reals just very well-made great real great size reel. You know it’s just a great option. They come in at just under $200 so. It is a high end real but. It is great it’s really nice so. If you’re looking for a 50 size reel definitely check out the quantum cabo CSP 50 PSD they’re new for this year. And they’re in stock. And available at JH com.

Hey it’s Josh over J. And H today we’re taking a look at the quantum cabo pts spinning rails. This is the CSP 40 PTSD. This is the 2013 version of the cabo quantum totally redid. These reels for 2013. You might have fished the old school Cabo. And love that they’re a great real great selling real but. They totally redid this is not at. All like the old Cabo. They kept the name for marketing purposes. That people knew what it was but. This is a much different reel. You know you got the. All metal body so it’s nice and light thirteen point nine ounces. Ishould say this is a saltwater really. You know most companies. They put the blue on there to indicate. This is a more of a saltwater real. You can use in a freshwater but. It is built for saltwater. That being said it puts out thirty pounds of drag so you’re looking at a forty size reel with thirty pounds of drag so there’s. Nothing you know if you’re fishing saltwater inshore there is. You can’t reel in with. This reel it’s nice and smooth it’s got eight ball bearings they’ve got the nice comfortable handle on here. This is sort of like a rubberized grip cool new handle design very similar to the quantum smoked inshore you’ve seen. That style quantum has sort of changed their styling on the reels made them look a little bit different from the standard. You know old-school silver. You know the old cobweb just like a silver metal handle.

This is a little bit different they’ve lightened. It up a little bit you can see. All the cutouts and stuff like. That great drag system like. Isaid 30 pounds drag. You know infinite you can hear. All the clicks in there it’s really smooth really nice it’s got. This the titanium bail which is going to hold up well over time clicks in very simple I’ll do. That again so you could so. You could see it’s going off-screen a little bit but whoop. More time there all spinning wheels have a dead spot so like with. This reel you could see. That it’s at a certain point. You really got to flip. It forwards it to the right in order for it to be in the right spot alright. You can switch these from left to right hand. You want you know whichever hand. You want to reel with. You can switch the handle over Sixpoint. Me 53 to 1 gear ratio on. This 8 ball bearings like. And holds 230 yards of 40 pound test break is designed for braids.

You can totally use mono. If you’re still using mono. It has a sealed drag system. It also has a sealed anti reverse so. You don’t have to worry about the introverts going out on. You know you get splashed. Anything like that the retail for just under 190 bucks. And it’s just a really great real. You know you fish to Cabo before why don’t. You give the new Cabo a try. This is the quantum Cabo pts spinning reel the CSP 40 PTSD the smallest in. This series and they’re in stock. And available at JH com.

Hey it’s Josh over Jane H today we’re taking a look at Shimano twin power SW TP 10000 SW BPG spinning reels. This is brand-new from Shimano. This is the twin power series they’ve had. This in him for a million years in Japan. They finally brought a version over here to the United States we’ve been waiting a long time for these are great offshore near shore reels. You know for big pelagics. This size like I said is a 10000 so. You want to go catch 100-pound tuna. This is the real to get. It old 290 yards of 65 pounds has braids so. You know ton of line the biggest feature in. This is going to be it’s got Shimano’s new gearing and body design which. They call Hagane and basically. What they’re trying to do is they’re trying to make the real. More rigid reduce flex. And what that does is. That allows all the energy. That you use to stay in the cranking power anytime. You have flex you have a loss of energy. And by keeping the energy towards crank power obviously it’s gonna be easier for you to reel.

And you know big fish like those tune. Iwas talkin about it’s got Shimano’s a lot of their features from their stellar reels you’re talkin ex protect ex shield which is their corrosion resistant coating and seals within here to keep out water salt. And sand and that kind of stuff it’s also got out the top-of-the-line deck stuff drag system which is waterproof puts out crazy fifty-five pounds of drag. And max which is just insane for a spinning reel it’s also got ex ship which is there. You know gearing ball bearing arrangement system so. That you get maximum power out of. You know an easy turn of the handle on. This size reel like. Isaid which is the ten thousand it’s actually a manual bail so. You do have to flip.

It over yourself just a fantastic piece of technology weighs in at just twenty-two point nine ounces so it’s nice and lightweight. You know you’re not gonna get tired great jigging reel four point nine to 1 gear ratio eleven ball bearings. And like I said that 55 pounds of drag it’s just insane got an. All aluminum handle really nice oversized egg design feels really comfortable in your hand. If you get it weighs. It were to get bait. Or anything on there’s. And uh it’s not gonna get slippery. And it’s just an amazing real. You know show model did an excellent job with the redesign of the twin power at least for the United States I’m pretty sure. That it’s the exact same real. Now in Japan they sort of. You know had that they decided to instead of making two different versions.

They just made one make sense to. Me makes sense to everyone else retail like. Isaid is six hundred twenty bucks. And it’s just a great real. If you’re doing any jigging you need. This size real you want to go tuna fishing amber jack. Any that kind of stuff for big fish. This is definitely a great option they’re made in Japan. Iknow guys like all the Shimano reels are made in Japan are excellent so check. It put it’s the Shimano twin power SW TP 10000 SW BPG spinning reels. They are in stock and available at JH calm.

Hey it’s Josh over J. And H today we’re taking a look at the Shimano twin power SWT P 8000 SW BPG spinning reels. This is brand-new in the United States from Shimano they’ve had the twin power series over in Japan for a long time. And we’ve been asking for them to bring it over here. They finally have which is a great thing this is a totally redesigned version brand-new. They just released it at ICAST a couple days ago. And it’s just a phenomenal reel designed to sort of bridge the gap between the Saragossa. And the Stella you look at. This reel you’ll see a lot of similarities between the two but. This differs is this has Shimano’s new gearing and body system called Hagane. And basically what it is its just the next evolution of what your models trying to do in terms of making everything more stiff. And rigid so you turn the handle. That energy that goes into cranking the reel goes towards reeling in the fish. And it’s not lost due to flex. You know dissipate when the reel flexes. This thing’s got a crazy amount of drag it’s got their tough drag system which puts out 62 pounds at max which is just insane for an 8000 size reel it’s also got other features. That you’re going to find in a stellar like expert act ex shield which is their corrosion resistant coating and seals within the reel to keep out salt. And sand and water it’s also got ex ship which is going to deliver. That really smooth turn of the handle sure you’re used to. If you’ve ever turned the handle on a Stella.

Or a Sarah go so that kind of thing in the 8000 size. You get into the manual trip to actually have to flip the veil to have. It comes over nice aluminum handle really cool handle knob. This is actually a composite material so it’s lightweight it’s wetter get spades not going to slip. You could see the little openings give. You texture in your hand really comfortable.
