Glock Factory Magazines
What's going on guys so today we're taking a look at the Glock factory spare mag pouch. Something that a lot of guys will completely overlook. Because is a very cheap item. And frankly it doesn't look like it's going to be someone's gonna be high quality is gonna work well. Or it's gonna work as well as. Something say like Kydex. Something I picked up a. While ago and I've been using pretty much everyday for well over a year. And it's no worse swear. Imean it's very dirty. You can see all the dust. And craft built up in the sides of here but overall. It still functionally looks brand-new. Now just to get out. This right offs the bat. This is adaptable to pretty much. Any size belt right. It set up for a and a half inch belt but. You can cut out additional tabs for a 175 2 inch. Even two and a half inch belts. Idid have to cut out the tab for the. One inch herb one 1/4 inch belt. If you're running a 1-inch belt chances are it's not going to be a good gun belt anyway so. You probably don't need to worry too much about. That but I believe. This can actually adapt. You cut different sets of tabs. Now I'm gonna start. This off again this was only about 10 bucks. And frankly it is the best mag pouch. Ihave found yet for Glock magazines. One of the reasons that is. It is very Universal across the board for Glock mags. We got a Glock 26 mag rights here so it's 110 rounders get.
That in the right direction. If it's perfectly fine. It locks in tight it's not gonna go anywhere. It still fits enough to actually grab the mag. Now with that said frankly. If you're carrying this is no reason. You should be carrying a Glock 26 mags. You can carry a larger spare magazine such as. This for the Glock 17 is going to have a much larger magazine capacity. And it's also going to be able to give. You a much better purchase on the magazine as. You try to remove once again same as before. This is a fully loaded 17 round Glock 17 mags. And that's not going anywhere. It does have nice positive retention. And it's not going to drop on. Now here's the reason. Iactually went with the Glock magazine Glock mags. Ishould say something like a custom Kydex. Now a lot of people don't realize. This about Glock magazines on the right-hand side. We have a fairly new Gen 4 Glock magazine. Now you'll notice compared to the older blue. This is Gen 2 something from the late 1980s.
Something from the late 2000s they're not exactly the same profile so. What you'll notice is the feed lips are a little bit different up here in the shape of the top of the magazine differs a little bit so. You have custom formed Kydex Tran star is gonna be modeled with. Something like this but. You have old mags like. These guys they're not gonna lock in properly. Iactually had that experience. Itry to go Kydex the new mags fit great. They locked in and had positive retention anytime. Itried to run something as like an old man like. This old unit right here. They didn't work the problem was. They would actually get just so far. And then they would never fully lock into place so then. Iwas jumping around moving too quickly. They could actually bounce out. Where with the newer mags. They worked perfectly fine. Now a lot of guys will say oh I'm gonna use brand-new mags only but let's be realistic. What you have an old magazine. You want to be able to use.
What you have so that's why I went with a Glock magazine pouch in the first place. And the reason that works is. Because at the base here right next to. Where the drain hole is it's not very tightly formed to the magazine it's just a very mild slant so that'll work very well for almost. Any magazine you can find I would bet. Some mags at aren't blogs, so I'm not gonna come clean. What it will or will not fit outside of Glock magazines but for 10 bucks its worth playing around with no as. Imentioned before this does hold in place very well as. You saw it's not gonna drop with a fully loaded 17 round glock 17 magazines but a lot of guys going to say oh well you're holding in place so. You can't really see. What the real retention is so. Ithought ahead on that test. Igot a SOE 15 Cobra belts right here I'm actually show.
What this would look like. While it's on the belt. And it's two reasons for this not only. You get to see the actual retention. While it's in place on the belt but. You can also see that it's going a very tight profile to the belt itself. And not gonna add any bulk there. And that's another problem. Ifound with the Kydex. They usually stick out a decent amount so alright here. We have the Glock 26 mags. This is a full load with 10 rounds in there holding it upside down it's not going anywhere well. You want to pull it out a quick tug comes right out of their same thing with the Glock 17 magazines fully loaded with 17 rounds in. Ijust have ball in with a moment but holding it upside down get a nice shake it's not going anywhere. Once again it stays nice and tight to the belt. You don't gain any major profile from. It other than the width of the mag itself so at. This point a lot of guys are gonna be oh well.
Idon't want something outside the waistband. Something inside the waistband well that's perfectly fine but for me the downsides of a inside the waistband Kydex man magazine pouch did not outweigh the benefits. That I'm getting by going to. This mag pouch right here so not only I'm able to use. Any magazine from Glock. Iwant to with the exception of the wider 10 mils. Or 45 acp mag mags those. You do need to get the. That is size appropriate for those but. Ican carry it outside the waistband. It blends very well with the belt is not going to add in. Any real amount of noticing it. Or notice ability if that's a word to the situation. And frankly if you're dressing around the gun properly you're sure it's gonna cover pass right here anyway so.
You don't really need to worry too much about. Iwill say this will not work. You are playing sake Sheridan but again I've never found a inside the waistband mag pouch. That didn't print like crazy. You do try to tuck your shirt in. Unless it's so low that the top of the magazine sits below the belt line. Or right at that point your speed of acquisition is just so slow you'd probably be better off in a pocket holster for the magazine so that's. Something to keep in mind as well but with. That said for 10 bucks. Ihighly recommend and it's worth checking out. You know you don't like. It was ten bucks. You didn't really lose a whole hell of a lot especially.
You compare that to a Kydex medic pouch for about 60 bucks but. You have any questions make sure to post them in the comment section below. And as always you liked the video please like share. And subscribe have a nice day guys.
Ruger® BX-25™ Magazine – Two-Pack
The Ruger bx 25 is one of the best engineered magazines ever to be made in my opinion. It is so easy to take. This thing apart it literally could take. One minute to get it apart cleaned. And back together that's. How simple it is it's made out of plastic there's really. Nothing to it's light. And it's not going to break on your stainless steel feeding lips. It feeds it the same angle as the Ruger 10 round magazines which made the 10/22 famous so basically. This is just a 25 round version of the ten round magazine it's its seriously so simple so anyways to take. This apart you need is a hex wrench to take apart to take out. These hex screws so let's just start here at the top. And unscrew those one on the top is going to be shorter. Than the one on the bottom so there's the top screw let's take out the bottom. And there's the bottom screw so yeah it's just a bit longer there okay so. You need to do is take the top off it's just a piece of plastic with a rail for the spring and the 22 long rifle rounds. And then here's really the whole mechanism that's. It rights there so you have your stainless steel feed lips. This out here a polymer follower. And a constant force stainless steel spring and. This is advertised as being constant force. Ican't independently verify. Iwouldn't leave my magazines loaded for over a year.
Though just I don't trust. This is constant force. It might be I just don't trust. These magazines are amazing I'm not trying to demean them but in. Any way by saying this isn't constant force okay so like. You have your steel feed lips here. You need to do is you stick your polymer follower up their leave a little bit of space between. This circle and the steel just so your follower can fit on their so get your faul around there. And then get the spring portion. And just pull that it's a little notch there. You want to know this works go ahead. And stick it on their like. That there you can just pull on. This is like I'm loading rounds. You can see the spring kind of just unfolds see.
That's the spring and then. It goes back up simple very simple easy to clean takes. You two seconds to get. Any gunpowder residue off of their fouling or whatnot then simply cover. It back up make sure it's lined up like. Everything is good to go take our screws small. One goes in the top. And the long one goes in the bottom. And simply tighten those down. Now don't do it too tight. These are plastic I wouldn't want. You to crack them but. They will tighten down but. You don't have to force them to tighten screw. One back in make sure it's nice and tight but not too tight let's give it a couple turns here perfect so. That is the Ruger B X 25 magazine disassembly super easy there. You can see these are made in Newport New Hampshire United States of America it's always good to see an American company Ruger in. This case making a great American product 25 shots. This is a magazine I will only use.
These magazines for my 1022 rifle besides the factory 10 rounders they're great anyways thanks for watching guys.
