    Volkl 90Eight Ski – Women’s

Yeah, you’ve heard it all before: the unwavering promises of versatility, but nine times out of ten those do-it-all skis simply come up short—until now that is. Say hello to coldsmoke and goodbye to the mirrors with a little help from the Volkl Women’s 90Eight Ski. Touting a design that’s legitimately based in all-mountain fun, the 90Eight features an adaptive 98mm width waist that’ll go to mow-town on bumps, sashay through groomers, and float pow like a grade A yacht on the sea. Oh, and don’t forget about those nuggets of spring time slushy joy, the 90Eight easily maneuvers those without skipping a beat.

Now, simply because it’s a women-specific ski doesn’t mean it’s been the victim of the pink-and-shrink laser beam of doom. Boasting the same design as its twin brother (just in an overall lighter package), the 90Eight features Volkl’s 3D Ridge construction, which brings the bulk of material to the center of the ski, resulting in reduced swing weight. Though, Volkl does this without actually sacrificing the ski’s damping and stability at speed. Additionally, the early taper sidecut eases turn initiation for an easy, playful feel when it comes to hunting down pow stashes or making tight turns through technical features. The multi-layer wood core encompasses the character and flex of the ski, which, since its a Volkl, is inherently stable at speed, and is packed with plenty of power to bust through crud, without even batting an eye.

  • Versatile freeride ski for all-mountain exploration
  • 98mm waist underfoot works well in a variety of conditions
  • Rockered tip conquers crud and powder with prowess
  • Camber underfoot with tapered tail provide good edge control
  • Central woodcore ridge reduces weight without losing power
  • Full sidewall drives power transmission through the entire ski
  • Beech and poplar core offers poppy durability
  • Carbon stringers provide stability at high speeds

Navicular problem with a bump here they can all be addressed with the heat molding of the lower shell in a 20-minute process 24 millimeters. Oversized pivot so it’s a more effective way of keeping that lateral rigidity between the connection of the lower shell and the upper shell and over the life of the boot — it doesn’t get as loosey-goosey and break-in as much as a 8 millimeter bolt which is traditionally used through the shell the liner uses a. Unique construction call it’s a three. Speed formed custom-fit heel pocket you. Can actually see there’re two pieces to the liner this is all laminated evie a. Heat molded material it’s very dense down by the your your forefoot so a. Great transmission of energy where you can kind of see this heat back in the heel pocket here this anatomically molded pressed open saw uv a heat. Foldable foam which actually when it’s. Heated heat expand and take up voids. That are around your ankle bone and in your heel for really secure he’ll fit in the booth replaceable toe and heel lugs. Hi there my name is jim olsen on the. Equipment supervisor here at snow rocking-chair c and today we’re gonna talk about the salomon x max 120 and the. Custom fit protocol there we have fantastic new boot for us this year and it should go really well it’s all we’re. Gonna do is going to ascertain exactly. With you which kind of boot is going to be the best boot for you and that’s based on things like your height weight skier ability type how aggressively you ski where you’re going to be skiing and other factors that come into play as. Well we use a fit protocol where we use. These little plastic sticks, and we’ve got different ranges of size there depending on whether you’re a recreation or sports or advanced skier, so we use those rooms, and we’ll be showing you do that in a little bit to see how that fits okay right, so we’re going to be fitting greg today greg’s an expert skier skis mostly on piste so the xmax 120 is going to be the. Perfect boot room, so we’re gonna do is just double check the size we measure them up he’s a 26 and a half so this is twenty sixteen or, so she could perfect, so we’ll just go through that process. Just make sure your toes I’ve touched in the front I’m just going to use these. Little fish sticks just to see how much room regarding their need about a 15 mil fit your ability level yep pretty much. What we talk so that’s excellent now if you could just move your foot so soft way between the crunch at the back of the boot that’s good and like to know if. You just got a little and you got a little bit of room on the side we’ll be touching the sides in the forefoot ok. Just a little bit yeah ok that’s fine but take food out again okay, so he’s. Touching the sides there a little bit so that’s fine because that’s what the molding process is going to do it’s going to move the shell out just enough. Certain pieces feel really nicely, so we’ve already chosen to do some feet base for grip so what we’re going to do is just put those into the lighter and then see how that feels. We’re taking the base plates out as well because we don’t want to be eating those okay over here okay, and they go into the. Oven for 10 minutes at 120 degrees centigrade so those boots have had their. 10 minutes in the oven now, so they’re ready to come out and this is where we can see really how soft they go once they’ve been in the oven can really see how that flexes and this of the bit that’s gonna mold and it’s going to adapt to gregg’s feet the base plate. Plate back in and then the line is which you’ve got the foot base in there as well. So we’re not overtighten in the buckles we’re just doing it just tight enough so there holds nicely around the foot and it’s just going to use gregg’s foot to stretch that she’ll slide okay. Great so just like a flexible just a little bit not too much just back a little bit okay, and we’ll just hold that position for about six minutes and then you can have a run around until they pull down there okay so well greg’s. Boots are cooling down isn’t them run down about the xmax 120 and in fact the. Xmax range as a whole what I’ve got here is a twin frame so got a really solid base is going to give really immediate response and power transfer and then the moldable bit up the top here the white section is the Capitoline plastic which. Is over the mold well it’s a 360-degree fit which means that the whole thing is moldable so it’s an improvement upon the impact see before trial still in excellent boot and but it’s just total fit also got a twenty-five mils. Size pivot here as well as scopes for the edge to edge power transfer really responsive I’ve got a really. Good liner really moldable nice and firm with the straps front and back too really. Make it easy to get on and off got a nice thick power band there as well for micro-adjustable buckles and a 3d buckle. There as well so all in all really is a fantastic boot ok greg sadist I’m now in. The boots that cooked down nicely greg how does that feel in the toes. Now the great thing about this bootys that they’ve managed to heal back in the book by five millimeters let’s give them more room around the toe now as well so it’s really comfortable as well as really precise and really responsive. So we can pop those off now that’s a. It’s hopefully an example of how we fit ski boots here at snow rock using the salomon x max 120 absolutely fantastic. Book really it is critical to make sure that you get you put fit in correct make sure you’re in the right foods with the correct footbed so the correct kind of supportive thing because your ski boot is the most important bit of your equipment so it’s going to make you a holiday much more enjoyable and so you just get on not worry about what’s on your feet — get on with enjoying your holiday

Hi rob here with Solomon and christy. Sports talking about the new salomon alpine boot collection for the 2018-2019 ski season and in my hands i have the. Hi rob a salomon here and in my hands i. Have one of our newest and most exciting boots for the 2018-19 ski season and. It’s the x pro 90 custom heat connect. For women custom heat connect is a new liner technology that incorporates internalized heat in order to keep your feet warm and comfortable while on the mountain and with the connect technology. Out the new x pro 90 custom heat connect for women. You.

Hi guys this is ian with slope style vt comm and today we’re talking about the omni of the salomon x max 120 this is a. Great aggressive ski boot for all-mountain ski 120 flex so you do want to be advanced. Too aggressive to be in this boot nice low profile design it is using the twin. Frame construction basically that’s going to give you really nice lateral control over your skis starts out as a. Ninety eight millimeters last which is a little bit on the low volume side of the ski boots but it is using custom shell. Technology the really cool thing about custom shell technology is we actually could bake this boot in the convection oven over here for about 15 minutes and. Everywhere that you see the black plastic that’s actually gonna mold to your foot so it gives it six millimeters of travel in kind of every dimension of your foot so again that last starts out as a 98 can go all the way up to a 104. So you can accommodate just about everybody’s foot shape in this boot the. Spoiler also would kind of conform your calf as well so really end result is you get a really awesome fit custom to your foot what’s that been baked uses high-quality. Aluminum buckles throughout they’re all micro adjustable so you can find just the right setting your instep buckle has. Three positions it’s a 3d buckle they call it, so we can move that around a little bit as well really helps with kind of eliminating that common pinch point over the top here foot has some. Flex and gesture screws on the back here basically you can take out the top rivet that’s gonna make the boot a little bit softer if you want it a lot softer you can take out both rivets tend too not. Recommend taking out both but it is an option if you wanted to as well the. Liner that comes in this boot is a race-inspired one so basically what that means is its a minimalist design not. One of those big cushy liners it’s a really dense performance oriented liner so what that means is again anything. Your foot does will go right through the shell to boot much quicker a lot of times those big puffy liners take up some of your performance so overall really again a high-end boot right for all-mountain scheme and it will fit just about anybody’s foot shape with that custom sheldon melty thanks for. Watching and check us out at slope style vt com.

Hey so this is gary again from helm of sun valley in san mateo california helm. — sport calm and in this video i want to. Cover the salomon x max 120 custom shell. This is a phenomenal boot i put my foot. In this boot and just it just blew me away how well this thing fit and how. Great the heel hold down was most of. Most the time when i put on a boots i. Look for how well it is conforming to. All the nooks and crannies of my foot how well it’s gripping my Achilles area. In my above my heel bone that’s the most. Important place for you to grab is that area you control that area and you don’t. Have the propensity to want to buckle the buckles down overly tight because your heel is being held down by the boot itself anyway this is a custom shell. Boot what’s what’s custom shot mean custom shell means that the shell itself. The hard outer part of the boot has the. Ability to conform to your foot we’ve. Put it in an oven heated up to about 200 degrees, and then we put the whole boot on your foot and wherever your foot is wider you have a bony prominence the. Shell material of the boot will actually move out and take the shape of those bony prominences or those wide areas. It’s fairly unique in boots you know in. The past liners were custom had some. Custom molding ability but not nut shells and this custom shell has been around for a while fisher has a similar type of product but. It’s a pretty revolutionary of. Technology so this is a 120 flex let’s. Cover what does this max mean you’ll also see x pro 122 and x max 120. What’s the difference well the difference is width the pro is a wider boot and the max is a. Narrower boot so they say that the max. Starts off at a ninety-eight millimeter last personally i think it’s a very generous ninety-eight millimeters last it’s probably more like a ninety-nine. Maybe a 100 millimeter last and then the. Pro is a little bit but since its custom shell it will adapt. To a wider foot so we here at helm have. Mostly gone with the narrower max lines. Of boots from salomon knowing that when. You do the custom shall process it’s going to move out to accommodate a wider. Foot so it’s a very typical. Straightforward boot doesn’t have any walking mode or anything like that go pro closure on the top which is very. Typical nothing fancy going on down. Below there two rivets on the back which. You can be removed and would become softer you can remove one or both of those pending on how soft you want to make the boots so the liner is really. What sets this booth apart it’s got just some great contouring. Going on in here feeling gripping that Achilles like i said before and it’s fairly firm foam one of the things that boot designers have to wrestle with. Is how good of a fit you want out of the box and how good of a long-term fit you. Want generally speaking if i were to if i were to make a liner with really soft. Cushy foam you put your foot in it right out of the box and go wow this it’s great because that foam instantly conforms to your foot but the problem is then when you started. To go skiing that soft foam allows your. Foot to move around and what do you do when that happens you buckle it which way over tight you start to get cramping and burning and those are the guys that are sometimes I’m buffing at. The bottom of the run or the other side — other way to design a liners firm or. Thumbs it’s not gonna conform instantaneously so you have to be a little bit more patient when you put the boot on don’t judge it instantly because. This firm foam will slowly start to conform to your foot but the better side that the flip side of that is that in the long term it holds your foot more firmly you have a fit that is gonna. Allow your foot to move around less and in the long run the boot will pack out. Less to so-and-so imma just really hit a. Great combination of firmness and it’s. Just a awesome design and the way they. Contour the inside of the shell and the. Liner to just do a fantastic job of. Holding the foot this happens to be that. They use the 3d custom fit liner which. Is 80% thermal moldable foams it’s. Almost there their top liner that they use in this is 120 if they do make a. Race liner which is 100% thermal. Foldable foams but that through multiple. Foam what does that do well the. Removable foam means we heat up the liner and then you put your foot in it during the custom shall process — and the liner’s doing some molding to. Your foot so not only have the shell molding to your foot the line is molded. Churchill foot — so result kind of pretty awesome fit so that is your. Maximum 20 from salomon awesome it’s. Just a fantastic boot so if you found this video helpful please give me a big thumbs up down below and if you have any comments or questions comment the comment section I’ll try and get back to you alright see in the next video.

  • Grabbed hold of the new boot from nordica here it’s the pro machine launching 2018 19 winter seasons oh it’s. A step up from the speed machine it’s it. Looks great start with there’re two men’s. Boots there’s a 130 flex and a 120 flex and there’re a women’s version as well cool thing about it I’m just going to undo the clips here typical classic four. Clip boot really nice feel to it I’m. Just going to work out the liner gonna. Take the liner out you can see here it’s. Got this really nice custom quart. Fit so it looks great but actually what. The court does is it supports the ankle here it adds to the performance you’ve. Also got this foiling the spoiling is exactly the same foiling that they use for marathon runners when they finish their race that adds strength and lightness to the inner sole or to their. To the inner yeah it’s a really nice. Looking boot in terms of weight they’ve. Managed to shave about 25% off the. Weight from the speed machine so it’s a much lighter boot but it still has the performance especially in the 130 flex. That you want if you’re a high-end piece performance ear so i think the expert. Skiers who like to ski on the piste of course you can get off piece as well it’s a strong boot for good free ride. Skiers you could use this it’s not a ski touring boot but it’s still pretty light at around 175 kgs depending on you know. The size of the boot and it features on. This boot you’ve got the grip walk system here and quite nice and me it’s. The mitchell insole so a little bit like a vibram rubber sole but it’s a made by. Mitchell in quite like the look of that so yeah looks really interesting the new. Nordica pro machine launched in 2018 19. Winter season retail price around 530.

    Atomic Hawx Ultra 115 S Ski Boot – Women’s

The Women’s Hawx Ultra S 115 Ski Boot is the stiffest offering in Atomic’s lightweight Hawx Ultra lineup, and the lightest women’s alpine ski boot that Atomic has ever made. A narrow 98-millimeter last offers a snug, performance-oriented fit, and the stiff flex is ideal for hard-charging lady shredders looking to tear up the entire mountain. Atomic’s True Flex technology maintains the consistency of the flex so your boot feels the same whether you’re harvesting spring corn or skiing fresh powder in subzero temperatures.

To keep the boot light, Atomic used its Prolite design for the shell, creating a slim profile and adding reinforcement in areas where it matters. The energy backbone, for example, adds strength to the boot’s structure for better energy transmission to your sticks. Inside the shell, you’ll find a women-specific liner that’s anatomically shaped, featuring a more tapered calf and shorter cuff height. The liner, along with the shell, is fully thermo-moldable, too, for a snug, comfortable fit, and has Thinsulate insulation to keep your toes warm and happy so you can stay out all day. Basically feels nicer on your feet it’s much lighter to walk in it feels easier. To ski in but you haven’t lacked any. Performance features so in the back here. This plastic part gives you a much more direct responsive feel onto the edge so. From turn to turn you get a super grippy. Feel super responsive the plastic gives. You a lot of spring and rebound and all. In all this is absolutely a superb boot. For anyone who’s covering from an. Intermediate skier to an advanced skier with the different flex models available the whole of the hawks ultra line as well. Has memory fit plastic shell what this. Means is that the plastic can be heated. Up and shaped and molded to the unique. Bumps and features of your foot so it does mean there with a combination of the memory fear and this super soft. Comfortable line you can actually have a boot that is comfortable but also is. Super good performance so if you are. After the horse ultra it’s available in. Men’s and women’s and please come and visit us at the shop or vist the web. Site at sky bar lucam.

Hey guys welcome back to my channel today i am going to be reviewing well not really reviewing kind of just talking about a pair of ski boots I’m gonna be talking about them because i just got them now and it’s in case you. Want to get them more you’re new to skiing and you want to buy a pair of. Boots and you have no idea what you’re looking for or which ones to buy and if anybody out there is wondering what they look like or kind of like the key features about them or what another person’s opinion is of them that’s what I’m kind of here for these are a pair. That i think will be really great especially for you beginner intermediate skier put them in the video I’m gonna be reviewing these really aesthetically pleasing atomic hawx boot i mean it’s a. Really attractive looking boot i honestly i really like it I’m just very excited to talk about them. Let’s get started these boots are. Extremely lightweight when i say extremely i mean i tried them on and i could kick somebody in the face and it would be extremely easy to lift it up i don’t do that but yes another cool feature that this boot has is that it has insulate insulation inside and. If you don’t know what that is its a insulation that you use and for example ski jackets ski pants and it’s actually. Very warm so that’s a really cool feature that the boot has i mean it’ll definitely keep your feet warm they also have a lower cuff, so they are very. Specifically made for women it has a memory fit 3d liner which it says it. Right here in case you think for some reason it also has reshaped. Heels and ankle areas which is very good. And very comforting so the first time that you wear the boot it actually feels very nice and not uncomfortable at all and it has a heat moldable shell to. Match the shape of your foot which is also another good feature because obviously when they make a ski boot or any kind of shoe or any kind of boot out. There everybody’s foot is completely different it also has a progressive shell which means that it is thicker in important zones the key zones and it’s. Gonna be a lot of slimmer in every other. Area pretty much and that is what makes it so much more lightweight and i read in their website that it is actually 25%. More lightweight it also has an energy backbone it’s also extremely lightweight i mentioned that already i just want to say that it’s still lightweight i mean come on it’s like this is my pinky so lightweight so yeah i hope you. Guys enjoyed that and i want to thank you guys for watching my video and hopefully you give it a thumbs up if you enjoyed it and i guess if you didn’t enjoy it i mean I’m sorry. Thank you like subscribe and i hope you. Have a wonderful day.

  • Hey guys michelle here from the house comm and today I’m talking about the 2018 nordica santa ana 93 women’s ski so. Just to jump right into it this is really a do-it-all ski for a girl that knows what she’s doing it’s for an intermediate to advanced level rider for a couple reasons that we’ll get into and it’s great for all-mountain specifically but it’s gonna have a lot of floats and powder and if you want to do some freestyle moves or hit the park a little bit its diverse enough to take you there and let you be successful as well so the profile of. This as you might be able to see on the video it’s kind of hard to tell but there’s a pretty heavy camber right in the center here it’s called the all-mountain cam rock nordica calls it. So it’s gonna push the contact point of the rocker in the front back 25% with. The way that they’re doing it now in the tail five percent so it’s gonna give you. With the rocker in the front and increased float while the camber care is gonna give you increased velocity and. Maneuverability and powder as well as. Just on groomers too so and it’s gonna have a turn initiation too, so we have cambered underfoot here and then a really early rise rocker in the nose so you’ll notice if you push here is if your weight is on the ski the contact point is extremely early rise um so the. Contact when is getting really far back pretty far back especially since this is considered an all about in ski that’s that’s more of a classic powder. Ski i would say so for that reason with. These skis you’ll notice that your contact points are a little bit shorter in general even in the back of it here too, so we would recommend that you do size up just a little bit compared to what you might normally be used to in other skis so to get into the specs of. This it’s 1:24 width under nose 93. Underfoot and then one 12 in the tail. The base of these skis is centered and the edges are full steel so it’s a very. Well-made ski and it does have a really. Really cool design on top i really like the top sheet it does feel super high-quality we also have some interesting technology with these skis, so we have a hammerhead nose and that’s gonna maximize the contact and it’s also kind of gonna reduce some vibrations that you might experience at high speed so it’s a very high quality and very well-designed ski now we do have a. Partial twin tip and in the core we have poplar beach and. Balsa icore so it’s gonna make it very lightweight but still super high. Performing board we have a lot of materials going into this board now with the flex of this kind of experimenting with it myself i would definitely say that’s a medium flex so it’s gonna be a little bit softer in the nose and a little bit. Stiffer in the tail so and obviously when you manage keys it’s a little further back so it’s gonna give you that. Turn initiation that you need but it’s gonna be a little bit softer in the front so you can get up and powder and it’s easy to maneuver still so with the laminate of this we have sheets of carbon along the edges and it gives you really good edge hold an edge grip now if you have any problems with this ski you have a one-year warranty through nordica so you can contact them with any problems that you run into now you can find the 2018 at nordica santa and a 93 women’s skis at the house calm.

  • My third year skiing on the Pandora and i can honestly say it’s my favorite ski. I’ve ever had that early rise in the. Taper on the tip and tail helped me like just kappas know what i can stay nice and forward and make those good patterns without having to work too hard this really does all that for you and just have fun with it’s the only thing. I’ll take out and pow but it’s also really fun on a groomer if you can totally carve with it and fries I’ll just power through anything don’t let the 115 waste scare you off from doing a bit of Pandora’s it’s so easy to ski it really helps to make those turns and initiate them in the deep snow and on the service as well they’re fun they’re playful star food quick i use it every day whether I’m in. The resort just driving around giving side of the runs with my friends up in. The back country seeing big line suit powder it’s really fun on everything.

I tested the line Pandora today which is. In the big mountain category for women. 162 in length and 110 underfoot quiet. White i found the ski to be really versatile it was really strong. And held in the hard steeps and crud but. It also loved some big carving powdery turns and bouncy short-terms is pretty. Wide and has quite good news good rocker you can see i couldn’t really fault it. To be honest other than it’s not extremely cheap at. 420 pounds but yeah i just really. Enjoyed playing on the ski and for a girl who’s quite small not too big 162. Is perfect and yeah lots of floats but. Really sturdy as well-kept its edge on. The steep stuff and the crud so yeah great big master ski.

Hey we need time you wore it out the ski. Resort and utah gave me a little product. Testing with the linesman world these are 172 lengths that i was able to. Test out today there are 115 underfoot it has an aspen wood core which makes it. Really light and nimble in addition it. Had sidewall construction so that absorbs vibrations and made it ski. Really smooth right today was a typical spring utah day it was pretty firm in the morning and pretty sloppy in the afternoon i see these mostly in sloppy conditions they were super quick and easy underneath my feet and additionally. Pretty much just mocked right through all the manky snow i was surprised at. How well they skied in the tight steep terrain as well overall these are probably my favorite skis out of the bunch i definitely would like to get a pair of these and see what these are like on at least a foot of powder these. Are definitely the skis that i was suggested for any aggressive lady looking to step off her game check them out the long handle.
