The 4 Best Reloading – Benches & Bench Accessories

What’s up youtube so i want to do a. Quick video and just kind of show you my. Reloading bench some of my tools. And of course had beauty right there that’s my savage model 12 lp r65. Creed moor anyway just going to be a. Short video so basically i got this. Office type cabinet and you know. Countertop i actually got two of these for free and i went in and you know. Bought some brackets to kind of mount everything i got a couple brackets on each corner and got it all no level and. Got all my powder and stuff in here. We’ve got some extra likely it’s new. Brass so i thought i wasn’t too bad for. You know a little free deal little. Designator d capper little we press i. Bought from a guy i work with he was. Selling some stuff so i decided to use this as a designated d capper. So the bench works out pretty good it’s you know it’s pretty steady it’s pretty. Heavy i haven’t had any issues with it. This is my reading big boss two and got. The little spring feeling priming system. On it really nice the press itself was. And the you know the ram and all this. Kind of stuff in the spring on here was a little bit tight just use someone. Shot out of there and just kind of after. I cleaned it of course worked out pretty. Good lube it up a little bit same thing. With ali right here it was getting real. Real sticky and cranky so just lube the. Ram up with someone shot and quite as a. Lot of the mouse still got a lot of way a. Little ways to go to get this finished. But uh you know i actually like it i got. A lot of my little bit like my. Calipers and some of my little cleaning. Stuff case wax and keep all my bullets. And some you know primers and stuff like. That over here most of that stuff is for. Some five six I’m not really. Loading that right now so anyway. You guys have any suggestions or. Possible upgrade changes feel free to. Leave a comment and sorry about the. Noise that’s my air conditioner so. Anyway nothing much just a basic bench i. Got some 42.7 greens ready for range. Testing my data book right here this is. What i write down everything i do any changes i make into my loads but loads. Date primers brass case length i write. Everything down that way i can go back to it and you know if it worked at work. If it didn’t it didn’t and this is my. Charge master light i did have to put. The straw dill in there i started having some issues with it not a lot charging. Right it was you know under or over by a. Couple of greens so i went ahead and put the straw dill in other than that it works good i highly recommend it’s. Awesome other than that it’s a good. Press got some prime brass and some trim. Brass I’m going to do some crank loads or just some fowler loads or you know. Whatever just a shoot there that’s what i that’s what i call them. What I’ve heard people call them as crank loads or whatever i got my little. 65 gauge just dummy round right here. Just for reference kind of got that set. You know it fits in the it’s off the. Lands i think five thousandths just kind. Of gives me a basic starting point on if. I want to go into the lens or off the lands and of course match-grade dies for. 65 creed moor one of the best ones i. Could get which come with the micrometer right here and then I’ve got some lead eyes. For the two to three or five six in. My you know one shot of course i keep. This light handy it’s a little led light. You know the kind of helped because i do. Drop you know primers and stuff on the. Floor now and then and luckily that light picks them up really well so. Anyway guys like i said a short video. I’m going to do some probably some cabinets up in this area you know. Some shells or something to kind of get. My workspace clean and more open and. This is my typical reloading bench say. Stack on as you can see i got the. Gunsmithing supplies on there as well at. The primers allay charge reference guide. I guess you could call it got my boxes of brass little gun cleaning table that. I can bring down here’s all the tools so. Hung up on the back peg keyboard whatever that’s called along with the. Light i added some velcro use the accu. Trimmer it’s not bad i prefer the. Handheld trimmers such as the baller i. Believe that’s the lead trimmer also the leaves if trim in the corner it’s not milder to anything i haven’t tried it yet i got the cordless screwdriver there. I use that for my swaging bullet puller. I got the mallet I’ll show you why in a. Minute all the rest got the gauge for. Your brass. Of course my brass and projectiles i. Guess you’d call them and of course all. You guys know all this these however are. The lis loaders they’re cheap affordable. I guess you could say not cheap and. That’s what I’m gonna be using for reloading for the time being i don’t have actual press per se it’s low cost. Easy to take from here to camp or a. Friend’s house or wherever so i can load. Even on the range and a low heater. Hooked up it’s not permanent it’s just temporary it’s cold I’m in the polar vortex here this month whatever. Everybody’s bitching whatever it’s. Upstate new york I’m used to it where’s. Got other tools in here where odds-and-ends swaging tool there are. More blades to trim lead gauge holder or. Whatever the hole is of course the lyman. Reference manual can’t go wrong with that. Why get storage with this the solution. For the ultrasonic cleaner there’s a. Cleaner right there i got the smallest of the frankfort arsenal it’s not bad i. Prefer the tumbler which is right there actually you know it makes a little bit more noise but i think it comes out a little bit better everybody’s got their own preference you know it cleans better in the ultrasonic. Get it in the inside whatever and of. Course there’re the folders can full of media that i used it’s got the brass polish already added to it so and i. Believe it’s new york harassed prepper. Or ny half-ass prepper edit a little. Clip there you add some mineral spirits to your tumbler and it comes out shiny brass so I’m gonna try that no risk no. Rewards right there’s my gunsmithing box. Let me go to the range this comes with me also this bag right here it’s got all the student supplies so any kind of gunsmithing i need to do. I can do it anyways that’s that little. Speedom nrc here with a quick reloading. Table this is actually a table that’s. Been cut in half a 2 by 4 header into the wall catched in. The back and then there’s these pine boards on top be a nice squared up surface and then. It’s thicker and since i don’t have a. Very big table it’s in this corner i. Actually have the press mounted to a. Steel plate quarter inch thick and it. Simply just clamps so now i can take it. Off move, it gets it out of the way for. Other stuff use a table for other. Disassemblies cleanings and stuff and just totally remove the press and not. Have any holes or nothing on the top or. Change to a different press or a trimmer or whatever so it works really well. There’s very minimal flex when pressing. Your normal efforts and of course this. Is a lis classic cast so just some. Countersunk bolts. I thought it was very hard because i live in an apartment where to put this so this makes it real easy nice reward.

Hey guys georgia boy here I’m gonna talk. To you today for a second about reloading benches they come in all. Shapes and sizes some are simple some. Are elaborate but it’s one of the first. Things you have to deal with when you start reloading you have to have a. Sturdy table or bench or desk or. Something to mount your presses on now i. Have a 14 by 20 outbuilding with. Electricity and i have a large bench in. There and it’s where i do my casting and. My powder coating and all that but for. Me it was just a hard place to just. To stay there and reload the temperature. Swings or crazy down here during the. Summer it’s super hot and humid the. Winter it’s freezing it was hard to heat. It’s damp when it rains and it just wasn’t a place even though it was a great place and a great bench it just. Was not ideal for me to reload you know. I was just concerned about my presses. Rusting and having dyes and primers and. Powders and stuff in that environment so. For me though i do a lot of stuff there. I wanted to reload in the house where it. Was more comfortable and i didn’t have to worry about all the temperature. Swings and stuff like that and but for. Me my reloading and my bench is a mess. So my reloading bench was going to be in. The house and in our living space somewhere i don’t have a basement or. That would be an easy fix just set up. Down in a basement but my house is a ranch on a crawlspace and i don’t have. Any extra bedrooms my got kids in the bedroom so i looked. At some i thought well a desk that would. Be good and so some of the desk i found. They were just cheap particle. Board or you know wouldn’t wouldn’t. Really be sturdy enough for a press or. If i found a solid desk that was you. No oak or whatever normally it was too. Nice of a desk for me to start drilling. On and mounting presses too or it was so. Beat up my wife wouldn’t let me have it. In the house yes i said that and so. Here’s what i did for a reloading bench. My reloading bench is made of an old. Singer sewing machine my mom was a. Quilter and a sower and she collected. These old singer sewing machines and i. Had one that the sewing machine was long. Gone and the wood furniture had been. Taken off it was just the frame and you. No i cleaned it up and shot it flats. Black and got a thick heavy-duty piece. Of high-grade plywood and bolted it to. The top and these things are super. Sturdy that are all cast iron construction there’s no wobble and it. Looks good sitting in the corner of a. Downstairs living room as good as a. Reloading bench can can look in that. Situation so these can be still had. Pretty cheap and all you have to do is. At the top four bolts it rights. Down to it cast-iron construction works. Good maybe i can hook that up to my turret prints that would turn out some. Ammo or maybe if i get tired of. Reloading one day i can convert this. Back and take up sewing anyways just an. Idea this worked for me and it’s a good. Solid bench and actually i have another. One and I’m going to restore it and put the same top and stain it to match this. One because I’m in a corner and i. Want to put one on this side as well. With a single-stage press and kind of. Have a little more room so anyway that’s. My reloading bench it’s just an idea that somebody may find useful.

Level looks like it’s going to be a good. Cool tabby why it probably 25 20 to 25. Pounds i would estimate might be a. Little wider looks like the laces come right back in and you’ll be able to put it in a corner. Or do whatever you want because you can take these knobs or folder you can just. Hey everybody neil here with a real fast. Review of the Franklin arsenal reloading. Stand you can get these online I’ve got. Two of them i got them from notches they really that were on sale almost half off. And then where they shipped it up the next day so i can’t give them enough praise they’ll get some more of my business i thought they were gonna be a lot heavier than they are i was worried whether my wife would be able to carry him in because i wasn’t home, and they were delivered and there were two of them, but they’re super. Lightweight that’s a plastic base a metal up rod there and then this is a. Plastic top on it and then it also they. Come with these little you get two of those little side trays there pretty sturdy you can see i have my lyman brass. All-american eight turrets on it and I’ve. Made some rounds on it and when you move. It really doesn’t move that much a little wiggle but it doesn’t tip or anything like that when you’re when you’re pressing or doing anything so i. Like it a lot they are a little bit low. Of probably london’s coming out with a. Riser stand like in-line fabrication. Makes and that’ll lift my press-up about. Nine inches and then that’ll pretty much. Be perfect for when i sit in my lazy boy and undo bullets so i really like him. The price was right for me there. Normally i think $59 i got mine for 26 i. Think it was if you don’t have a. Permanent workbench and you need something temporary this is the way to go they come apart it’s just like just. Like that so you can take them apart and.
