What's up guys shared here with confused films. And today we are going to be checking out the steely car mount kit so the kit retails for 35 bucks on their website actually it's a bit. More expensive on Amazon retailing at 37. That was in Canada and. That was with free shipping as well. Though the reviews were really good one. This so I felt really confident. When I was going to go buy. It I did buy it off of Amazon the only big con about. This is you need to actually put a little adhesive magnetic button on the back of your phone. Or on the back of your case. It doesn't add too much bulk but. When you're holding it for like the first time. It is kind of weird sensation. You do need to get used to having it there. Because it does feel present so basically the ball mount kit for the car is awesome it's stylish. Iguess it doesn't look cheesy but. Everyone kind of wondered. What it was so when. It sticks the phone to. It's actually a very strong hold. Iwent over some bumps. And stuff and you know the phone didn't fall off it's like it's a pretty strong magnet.

That they've got sitting in there. Ialso really liked. It because the custody of like. How you can angle this is endless. You can put it just about anywhere. And you can also turn. It over into horizontal. And I actually kind of like. That for when I'm driving because the map application. II find I like it better in horizontal mode. Than anything else like. Isaid you're viewing possibilities are pretty much endless but. That really depends on your vehicle. Iknow some vehicles have. Iknow all the vehicles are different so. Some vehicles are going to be a bit. More of a pain in the butt to mount. Then that another cool thing is since it's a magnetic button on the back. You can actually mount. It to you know whatever steel pieces. That you may be around so that's going to be really awesome. If you work around. That kind of stuff all in.

All I just definitely recommend checking this out. Because it's a pretty sweet product. And for the 35 bucks. That it renders I actually thought. It was worth it — seeing the con of having to mount the magnetic button on the back of your phone just a quick note. That you probably shouldn't do. It like I did and mount the button on the back of your leather case. Because they actually do say not to do. That but me being me. Ididn't listen to the instructions I've had. That on for about a little bit over a week. And a half now while I've been testing it. And I haven't run into. Any problems mostly. Because I never take my case off anyways but yeah anyways just. You know check it out. You can check out some other reviews on. It and stuff but that's just. Something I thought I'd bring to your attention. Because it's actually pretty sweet for mounting it in the car as well as it's fun sticking your phones on like metal pieces.

Hey guys I got a new video for you today. And we're gonna be looking at the steely free mount vent kit by night eyes. Now I've always been intrigued by. These men kits from night eyes. Because they seem very sturdy. And pretty easy to use but the. One thing that kind of Drew. Me away from them was the way. That the attachment portion on the phone attached to. It and that was via a 3m tape. That you would stick on the back of the phone. Or on the back of a case so. Imade it a permanent option again. That is fine if you're using the. You know the mount with the vent mount in your car but. When you took the phone off. That would stick on the phone. Or stuck on the case. That you had on the phone. And then when you put. It in your pocket it was just. You know pretty much get in the way so. When they came out with. This one with the free mounts. Ithought it was really cool. Because this allows. You to actually just slide the phone in there. You can still remove. It from the vent clip. If you wanted to use the phone. While you're in the car. And sort a call or. Something like that. And then just put it back on there. Because it is magnetic. And once you're done. You can just take your phone out. And then this whole piece stays on. Either on the actual vent clip. Or again you can still take. It with you if you wanted to so. Iwas really cool so. This is the box that. It comes with a couple cool things on the box the first.

One is you do get a fit chart here on the side. This is gonna give you the maximum width. That the free mount is gonna support a phone with a case. And then the minimum width as well so. If you find this in stores. And you want to test out the fit here as my iPhone 7 plus with a case. And as you guys can see. It definitely fits because. It is below the maximum width. Now I was actually trying to see. If my iPod Touch would fit on there. And the iPod Touch actually does not meet the minimum width requirements so again. That is pretty cool. If you find this in store. And you want to test. It out before you purchase. It to make sure that. It works you can go ahead. And do that in the back. That gives you a little bit. More of information again. It fits most smartphones with. Or without a case 57 millimeters to 90 millimeters wide so again keep. That in mind if you are ordering this online those are the minimum.

And the maximum widths the vent mount easily clips. And unclips from most vehicle vents. And that's really important too. Because if you don't want to leave the event mount clipped on your vent. You can easily remove. It also like in my case my events actually run up. And down as opposed to side-to-side like. They do in most cars so. This way it makes it a lot easier to clip to the vent. And it'd be more secure. And then last but not the least powerful neodymium magnet with Silicon Center for smooth secure attachment. And adjustable viewing angles. And that for me it was very important. Because the way that. This secures to itself via the magnet it's got a ball. And socket joint here makes. It really easy to have the phone in. One orientation and being able to rotate.

It without having to actually remove the phone from the mount. Or without having to loosen. It and things like. That so I can have. This you know being horizontal. And if I want to rotate. It to being vertical. Ican just do that. Or if I want to choose the different viewing angles. Ican do that very easily. And that's again thanks to the technology of the ball. And socket joint here so as. You open this up you have a view of the free mount itself. And then the vent mount as well. And then you have a couple other options. That will utilize the free mount. Once it's on your phone so. You have a tabletop stand. And that is really cool. Because if you have. This like maybe on your desk at work. You can just come in. And set your phone on. It and know your phone is nice and secure on there. And then you also have a wall mount kit so. You can you know mount. This on the wall maybe next to your bed. Or you know in the bathroom next to a mirror as you're getting dressed for work in the morning there.

Something like that so. You do have a lot of different options. That use this free mount there so let's go ahead. And open up the box. And we'll take a look at. It all rights so inside of the box. You obviously have the free mounts. And the vent clip you also have an instruction booklet here which is pretty easy to follow it'll just show. You how to actually work the free mounts. And how to position the vent clip in your car. And stuff like that. And then you have a couple of extra rubber pads again. If your phone or whatever. It is that you're putting in the free mount is a little bit on the smaller width. You can actually add. These which will add a little bit of. More cushioning to the little hands on the free mount.

And then it'll you know grip your phone. Or device very securely they're nice and soft. And they slide in there very easily so let. Me go ahead and open. This up, and we'll take a look at the two pieces so first we'll look at the free mount here again. It already has similar silicone pads on their so. You have you know one on the top. And one on the bottom depending on how you're looking at. It and then I like the fact. That they went with. These steel little arms here as opposed to plastic. Because that is we're gonna hold up to a lot of use a lot of opening and closing and stuff like. That so you have your magnet in the back here. And then your silicon centers so that's gonna be a nice secure grip. And then you have your little hand your little arm here your little lever. And as you push that it's actually going to open up the two hands there alright so. You know this is the maximum width.

That you're gonna get so again here is my iPhone 7 plus. And as I put in there. Istart closing down on. It and it's kind of like a ratcheting and. Ican go ahead and ratchet. It down and now it is nice and secure. That is not going anywhere so. Ican go ahead and attach. It to the vent clip. And not have to worry about. It falling or anything like. That so let's take a look at the event clip itself also so. You have this nice weighted ball magnet on the top. And it has nice heft to. It and it feels really sturdy which is really cool. And then you have the two little clamps right here. And they're actually rubberized so. When you put these into your vent. And you're in your car it's not going to scratch. It up or anything like. That the lever right here as. You pull it up it'll actually open up the two little hands there so you'll slide. This into the vent and then you'll clamp.

It down and it's by pressure. And then you'll have a nice and secure fit. And once this is on your vent. You can just go ahead. And attach the free mounts on there. And as you guys can see. It is very secure it is not going anywhere but. Ican easily rotate. It horizontal vertical different viewing angles. Whatever it is that. Ineed and then just pull. It off and you can go ahead. And remove it from there. And as I already mentioned. This is not a permanent solution so. Once you're done all. You have to do is hit. That little lever and. It will release the clamps. And you can go ahead. And take your phone out. And you're good to go let. Me go ahead and show. You guys how to attach the extra little pieces here so there's not just cutout right here. And those will fit into the little steel arms right there then. All you do is just lay. It in there and there. It is so it's going to give.

You a little bit more padding but it's a little going to give. You a little bit more height again. If your device is towards the minimum range of what will fit into the free mount here so. What I'm gonna do now is I'll head outside. And I'll actually install. This into my car so. You guys can see how. It looks and how it works alright guys, so I'm out of the car. Now I'll go ahead and show. You guys how to install the steely free mount vent kits first thing you're gonna need is the vent clip go ahead. And open up the little arm there that'll release the tension between the two little prongs here again. These are rubberized so as. You slide them onto your vent it's not gonna scratch. It up once you have.

It where you want. It go ahead and clamp down. And that is gonna be a nice and secure fit there. It is not going anywhere then you're gonna get your free mounts attach. It to your phone again. This is my iPhone 7 plus with a case so just Ratchet. It down until it's nice and secure there. It is and now just attach. Both ends to each other. And as you guys head. It there it is a nice and secure fit so there. It is very easy to set up very quick. You don't have to worry about. You know going anywhere. And for me as I mentioned already. One of the best options is the ability to be able to go from the horizontal viewing angle to be vertical viewing angle without having to actually remove the phone from the kit.

Or you know having to mess around with loosening it. Or anything like that. Ican go back to the horizontal viewing angle. And then choose different angles to position the phone again. If there's sun shining on the screen. Or something like that that is key especially. Because I use my phone for different things in the car like playing music GPS things like. That if I do have to remove the phone to maybe answer a phone call. Or something like that. It is very easy to mount stays. Where it should the free mount here stays. Where it should as well. And then once I'm done. Ican go ahead and reposition. That back there and I'm good to go so again. It is very easy to set up.

You know it just takes a couple seconds to do. That you can actually remove. It from one vent if. You want to put it in. Another one or something like. That if you do want to take the phone out altogether. You can just loosen. It and then just take the phone out. And then the free mount can stay on the vent clip. Or if you want to remove the free mount. And leave the vent clip there. You can do that or. If you want to just remove the vent clip altogether again it's just. That one little arm. That you have to loosen. And you're good to go so let. Me put the phone back on here. And attach it again so as. You guys can see very easy very quick so. They have a couple of other steely options but. One is probably one of my favorites so. What you'll get in the box is. This is the way you attach. It to your device and in your car. Iwill recommend definitely following the instructions completely on how to use. How to attach it correctly. You don't the attachment on your phone. Or andorra in your car it's going to end up following falling off so attach. It correctly the first time so. You don't end up having to order. More adhesive that's why they provide. This for you and really great detailed instructions so. You can do it correctly so. Now I'm going to zoom in. This is really you can see just. How mad magnetic I just push them together a little bit. They will magnetic together so. This is the device part that's going to go on your device your phone your GPS system a tablet basically.

Whatever you want to. It attaches on the back with the 3m VHB adhesive it's a super strong adhesive. You follow the directions exactly. They tell you to do. It's not going to come off it's got a super strong magnet on there. This is the part that's going to be attached to your car. And again the same 3m adhesive tape on the back there. You follow the instructions. It shouldn't come off at. All my husband both have. These in our cars we have had them for a. Few months now without. Any problems nothing it's not coming off. Or showing any signs of coming off the. One great thing about the 3m tape. When you're ready for it to come off. Even just use some floss. It down under there to scrape the adhesive off of. And it's going to come right off so.

This isn't a permanent thing. That you're going to have in your car forever. And it's as simple as. You attach both of these. This is on your phone. Or your device you hop in the car can easily just stick. It rights on there on the dashboard. And it's going to hold your phone up I've never had my phone fall off of. Even use this magnetic piece on my phone to attach my phone to other things so like a thumb in the kitchen reading recipe. Ican stick this on the fridge. Or the microwave and I've got. It rights there right at my fingertips to keep an eye on. It my husband I also have a rock buggy. That has a magnetic dashboard on. We stick this on there. It doesn't matter how hard. And bumpy a trail is the phones have never fallen off at. This is an absolutely fantastic product. Even have a couple of other Steeley products out there like to have the pedestal kit which.

This will even work with the pedestal kit so. You wouldn't necessarily have to buy the whole kit. You could just buy the pedestal stand for it. Even buy each of these individually so. It to you know whatever steel pieces. That you may be around so that's going to be really awesome. If you work around. That kind of stuff all in.

All I just definitely recommend checking this out. Because it's a pretty sweet product. And for the 35 bucks. That it renders I actually thought. It was worth it — seeing the con of having to mount the magnetic button on the back of your phone just a quick note. That you probably shouldn't do. It like I did and mount the button on the back of your leather case. Because they actually do say not to do. That but me being me. Ididn't listen to the instructions I've had. Hey guys I got a new video for you today. And we're gonna be looking at the steely free mount vent kit by night eyes. Now I've always been intrigued by. These men kits from night eyes. Because they seem very sturdy. And pretty easy to use but the. One thing that kind of Drew. Me away from them was the way. That the attachment portion on the phone attached to. It and that was via a 3m tape. That you would stick on the back of the phone. Or on the back of a case so. Imade it a permanent option again. That is fine if you're using the. You know the mount with the vent mount in your car but. When you took the phone off. That would stick on the phone. Or stuck on the case. That you had on the phone. And then when you put. It in your pocket it was just. You know pretty much get in the way so. When they came out with. This one with the free mounts. Ithought it was really cool. Because this allows. You to actually just slide the phone in there. You can still remove. It from the vent clip. If you wanted to use the phone. While you're in the car. And sort a call or. Something like that. And then just put it back on there. Because it is magnetic. And once you're done. You can just take your phone out. And then this whole piece stays on. Either on the actual vent clip. Or again you can still take. It with you if you wanted to so. Iwas really cool so. This is the box that. It comes with a couple cool things on the box the first.

One is you do get a fit chart here on the side. This is gonna give you the maximum width. That the free mount is gonna support a phone with a case. And then the minimum width as well so. If you find this in stores. And you want to test out the fit here as my iPhone 7 plus with a case. And as you guys can see. It definitely fits because. It is below the maximum width. Now I was actually trying to see. If my iPod Touch would fit on there. And the iPod Touch actually does not meet the minimum width requirements so again. That is pretty cool. If you find this in store. And you want to test. It out before you purchase. It to make sure that. It works you can go ahead. And do that in the back. That gives you a little bit. More of information again. It fits most smartphones with. Or without a case 57 millimeters to 90 millimeters wide so again keep. That in mind if you are ordering this online those are the minimum.

And the maximum widths the vent mount easily clips. And unclips from most vehicle vents. And that's really important too. Because if you don't want to leave the event mount clipped on your vent. You can easily remove. It also like in my case my events actually run up. And down as opposed to side-to-side like. They do in most cars so. This way it makes it a lot easier to clip to the vent. And it'd be more secure. And then last but not the least powerful neodymium magnet with Silicon Center for smooth secure attachment. And adjustable viewing angles. And that for me it was very important. Because the way that. This secures to itself via the magnet it's got a ball. And socket joint here makes. It really easy to have the phone in. One orientation and being able to rotate.

It without having to actually remove the phone from the mount. Or without having to loosen. It and things like. That so I can have. This you know being horizontal. And if I want to rotate. It to being vertical. Ican just do that. Or if I want to choose the different viewing angles. Ican do that very easily. And that's again thanks to the technology of the ball. And socket joint here so as. You open this up you have a view of the free mount itself. And then the vent mount as well. And then you have a couple other options. That will utilize the free mount. Once it's on your phone so. You have a tabletop stand. And that is really cool. Because if you have. This like maybe on your desk at work. You can just come in. And set your phone on. It and know your phone is nice and secure on there. And then you also have a wall mount kit so. You can you know mount. This on the wall maybe next to your bed. Or you know in the bathroom next to a mirror as you're getting dressed for work in the morning there.

Something like that so. You do have a lot of different options. That use this free mount there so let's go ahead. And open up the box. And we'll take a look at. It all rights so inside of the box. You obviously have the free mounts. And the vent clip you also have an instruction booklet here which is pretty easy to follow it'll just show. You how to actually work the free mounts. And how to position the vent clip in your car. And stuff like that. And then you have a couple of extra rubber pads again. If your phone or whatever. It is that you're putting in the free mount is a little bit on the smaller width. You can actually add. These which will add a little bit of. More cushioning to the little hands on the free mount.

And then it'll you know grip your phone. Or device very securely they're nice and soft. And they slide in there very easily so let. Me go ahead and open. This up, and we'll take a look at the two pieces so first we'll look at the free mount here again. It already has similar silicone pads on their so. You have you know one on the top. And one on the bottom depending on how you're looking at. It and then I like the fact. That they went with. These steel little arms here as opposed to plastic. Because that is we're gonna hold up to a lot of use a lot of opening and closing and stuff like. That so you have your magnet in the back here. And then your silicon centers so that's gonna be a nice secure grip. And then you have your little hand your little arm here your little lever. And as you push that it's actually going to open up the two hands there alright so. You know this is the maximum width.

That you're gonna get so again here is my iPhone 7 plus. And as I put in there. Istart closing down on. It and it's kind of like a ratcheting and. Ican go ahead and ratchet. It down and now it is nice and secure. That is not going anywhere so. Ican go ahead and attach. It to the vent clip. And not have to worry about. It falling or anything like. That so let's take a look at the event clip itself also so. You have this nice weighted ball magnet on the top. And it has nice heft to. It and it feels really sturdy which is really cool. And then you have the two little clamps right here. And they're actually rubberized so. When you put these into your vent. And you're in your car it's not going to scratch. It up or anything like. That the lever right here as. You pull it up it'll actually open up the two little hands there so you'll slide. This into the vent and then you'll clamp.

It down and it's by pressure. And then you'll have a nice and secure fit. And once this is on your vent. You can just go ahead. And attach the free mounts on there. And as you guys can see. It is very secure it is not going anywhere but. Ican easily rotate. It horizontal vertical different viewing angles. Whatever it is that. Ineed and then just pull. It off and you can go ahead. And remove it from there. And as I already mentioned. This is not a permanent solution so. Once you're done all. You have to do is hit. That little lever and. It will release the clamps. And you can go ahead. And take your phone out. And you're good to go let. Me go ahead and show. You guys how to attach the extra little pieces here so there's not just cutout right here. And those will fit into the little steel arms right there then. All you do is just lay. It in there and there. It is so it's going to give.

You a little bit more padding but it's a little going to give. You a little bit more height again. If your device is towards the minimum range of what will fit into the free mount here so. What I'm gonna do now is I'll head outside. And I'll actually install. This into my car so. You guys can see how. It looks and how it works alright guys, so I'm out of the car. Now I'll go ahead and show. You guys how to install the steely free mount vent kits first thing you're gonna need is the vent clip go ahead. And open up the little arm there that'll release the tension between the two little prongs here again. These are rubberized so as. You slide them onto your vent it's not gonna scratch. It up once you have.

It where you want. It go ahead and clamp down. And that is gonna be a nice and secure fit there. It is not going anywhere then you're gonna get your free mounts attach. It to your phone again. This is my iPhone 7 plus with a case so just Ratchet. It down until it's nice and secure there. It is and now just attach. Both ends to each other. And as you guys head. It there it is a nice and secure fit so there. It is very easy to set up very quick. You don't have to worry about. You know going anywhere. And for me as I mentioned already. One of the best options is the ability to be able to go from the horizontal viewing angle to be vertical viewing angle without having to actually remove the phone from the kit.

Or you know having to mess around with loosening it. Or anything like that. Ican go back to the horizontal viewing angle. And then choose different angles to position the phone again. If there's sun shining on the screen. Or something like that that is key especially. Because I use my phone for different things in the car like playing music GPS things like. That if I do have to remove the phone to maybe answer a phone call. Or something like that. It is very easy to mount stays. Where it should the free mount here stays. Where it should as well. And then once I'm done. Ican go ahead and reposition. That back there and I'm good to go so again. It is very easy to set up.

You know it just takes a couple seconds to do. That you can actually remove. It from one vent if. You want to put it in. Another one or something like. That if you do want to take the phone out altogether. You can just loosen. It and then just take the phone out. And then the free mount can stay on the vent clip. Or if you want to remove the free mount. And leave the vent clip there. You can do that or. If you want to just remove the vent clip altogether again it's just. That one little arm. That you have to loosen. And you're good to go so let. Me put the phone back on here. And attach it again so as. You guys can see very easy very quick so. Everyone it's Megan here with going gear comm. And today we're going to be looking at the steely. This is the car mount kit. And the steeling was debuted at the SHOT Show back in January it's a night eyes product. And it's probably one of the best nights products. That they've ever come out with. This is the car mount kit. They have a couple of other steely options but. One is probably one of my favorites so. What you'll get in the box is. This is the way you attach. It to your device and in your car. Iwill recommend definitely following the instructions completely on how to use. How to attach it correctly. You don't the attachment on your phone. Or andorra in your car it's going to end up following falling off so attach. It correctly the first time so. You don't end up having to order. More adhesive that's why they provide. This for you and really great detailed instructions so. You can do it correctly so. Now I'm going to zoom in. This is really you can see just. How mad magnetic I just push them together a little bit. They will magnetic together so. This is the device part that's going to go on your device your phone your GPS system a tablet basically.

Whatever you want to. It attaches on the back with the 3m VHB adhesive it's a super strong adhesive. You follow the directions exactly. They tell you to do. It's not going to come off it's got a super strong magnet on there. This is the part that's going to be attached to your car. And again the same 3m adhesive tape on the back there. You follow the instructions. It shouldn't come off at. All my husband both have. These in our cars we have had them for a. Few months now without. Any problems nothing it's not coming off. Or showing any signs of coming off the. One great thing about the 3m tape. When you're ready for it to come off. Even just use some floss. It down under there to scrape the adhesive off of. And it's going to come right off so.

This isn't a permanent thing. That you're going to have in your car forever. And it's as simple as. You attach both of these. This is on your phone. Or your device you hop in the car can easily just stick. It rights on there on the dashboard. And it's going to hold your phone up I've never had my phone fall off of. Even use this magnetic piece on my phone to attach my phone to other things so like a thumb in the kitchen reading recipe. Ican stick this on the fridge. Or the microwave and I've got. It rights there right at my fingertips to keep an eye on. It my husband I also have a rock buggy. That has a magnetic dashboard on. We stick this on there. It doesn't matter how hard. And bumpy a trail is the phones have never fallen off at. This is an absolutely fantastic product. Even have a couple of other Steeley products out there like to have the pedestal kit which.

This will even work with the pedestal kit so. You wouldn't necessarily have to buy the whole kit. You could just buy the pedestal stand for it. Even buy each of these individually so. You have one vehicle. You want to put two of these in your car so. And your spouse or significant other. Or have an extra person in the car. Both have an attachment point to keep your phone right at your fingertips. You want to have your. One for your phone one for your GPS. You can do you can order. All of the pieces of. That puts high-resolution satellite imagery on your Gamin handheld so Brad should. It away sure this step by step wizard can be used to download imagery to your device the first step will allow. You to select which device. You want to load imagery to in the next step. You can name the imagery. Whatever you would like in. This case we're going to the Rocky Mountains Birds Eye comes in three levels of resolution standard high. And highest how would. You describe those various levels standard resolution is generally available worldwide certain areas will have high. Or highest resolution is approximately. One meter per pixel okay you'll also need to select. What area you wish to download imager for these three tools will allow. You to pan the map zoom in. Or zoom out and control the size of the downloaded area. You select your area. You can choose standard high. Or highest you can see the estimated file size becomes larger with. Each selection next simply begin the download process okay. And then that puts. It rights on my device. And then I've got it for my next adventure absolutely. What are some of the reasons. You would use bird's-eye satellite imagery. You can use it for hunting it will show. Some where the tree cover is. It will also show you can use. It in urban areas to determine. Where the parks are. Where parking might be available.

If your geocaching where the creek beds are. It looks like just in. That short amount of time it's already downloaded. All the imagery to our device. It will take a little bit of time depending upon the area. That you've downloaded but yeah. It does go pretty fast okay so here we're looking at an example of a portion of imagery downloaded in high resolution right correct. You can see at a glance. That there's a lot of information there. You can get from this type of imagery. You wouldn't normally get on. One of our maps even with topography on there absolutely. You may also be able to identify key landmarks. You can use in your trip planning process perhaps.

Something you wish to mark is a waypoint. Ifor one know that there's a boat dock out here so. What I'm going to do is mark waypoint for. That dock and then. That will show up on the screen of my device. When I'm using it absolutely. It will be transferred simply as a waypoint so Brad. What are we looking at here well here's. Some area around Gamin. What we've done is we have multiple layers of imagery which is. One of the great benefits of bird's-eye. This is kind of our standard resolution. We zoom in we can get to higher.
