Hey everyone: this is alex from saint croix fishing rods coming to you from the back bays of new jersey, just a few miles away from tackle direct and I’m here today to talk about the new mojo inshore rod that we’ve got for 2021 right off the bat you’re going to notice a few things that we’ve changed for this series and that’s the color was purple for the last few seasons here. This is a deep aquamarine, really sharp. Looking rod. We went to a sea guide, hero guide platform, which is a really great upgraded guide and also a fuji reel seat on this rod.
So some really great components, but some of the things that we’ve done that takes us to the next level. From a fishability standpoint is we went from our sc2 carbon fiber to sc3 and that just increases the sensitivity of the rod, the casting performance and your time on the water is going to be better because of that that performance upgrade a few things that we did in the in the series here: you’ll notice that we’ve got full cork on this one model here and our some of the models are going to have a full cork depending on the application.
The rod is meant for, but some are going to have this eva and cork combination and you’re going to see that on our heavier rods and what that does is when you’re underway in a boat, it’s going to provide protection from the rod holder right here with the eva and also security, with this rubber gimbal on the bottom. So really nice feature when you’re offshore. We have some bigger models here than we did in the past for mojo inshore. This is a 7 9 extra heavy, moderate, fast casting rod, so this thing’s great for anything from bottom fishing to throwing big swim, baits and and uh swimmers to stripers or other big, predatory, inshore fish and a similar rod here with the 7 9 spinning extra heavy moderate fast.
This rod is really versatile anywhere from throwing those big top water lures to to striper again uh or even tuna, and we’ve had our some of our pro staff land blue fin tunnel on this rod. It’s a great versatile rod will do a lot of different things. The nice thing about this series is that we’ve tested it all over the country, so we’ve had our pro staff and people around the industry, catching everything from permit to snook to redfish, to cobia, to tarpon and out in the west coast.
The big stripers they’ve got out there. This will do everything that you needed to do. We’ve got everything from a light action rod the whole way up to an extra heavy. So anything you need to do when you’re out in the water, in that inshore to near shore setting you can do with the new mojo inshore. In-Shore rods, which is also best of show for salt water, so I mean again saint croix, killing it at icast for the awards. If you guys make sure to check out all the icast coverage and all the other awards, they have there mojo inshore. That would chat. Yes, sir yeah tell us about it. Yeah we were really blessed, like I said, won the um saltwater category award with it last night, but I’m gonna touch on it a little bit.
There’s a lot going on here guys. This is a 27 model series and people are familiar with mojo inshore. We have we’ve had it before in name, but we took it from sc2 carbon to sc3. Now so you’re talking about now, you get that ipc mandrel, I’m talking about the technology ipc tooling, but also- and I’m going to do my best to show you this.
But if you look at this handle, you can see there’s a blend between cork and eva on some models, and you also notice on this butt cap. This has a rubber gimbal, so people can put it in a holder in a rocket launcher in a saltwater boats, you’re going down in big waves and because of the reel it doesn’t, let it bang around when you’re running.
So the point that I’m trying to make is it is a series that is designed with the angler in mind, but also with regional specificity kind of, depending where you’re fishing there’s models designed for the northeast striper market. For example. There’s another one I’ll grab a certain little sub series in this. That has a split grip handle for texas louisiana that market.
So really it’s a it’s. A really cool series had a lot of input from our internal product team and our pro staff. We looked at the entire country, all the coasts and everything all the different types of fisheries and with uh 27 models in the series. It’s just it’s there from light application inshore to through chucking, a giant plug for stripers.
So it’s it’s a super cool series. Yeah, that’s really cool, not just dialing in the rods themselves, for what your techniques even like. I said the regionality that really gives the guys the exact right tool they need for the right application and the right region. So that’s that’s pretty neat and that’s probably a big part of what helped you guys get that uh the award there.
I think yeah yeah, you know uh when you’re attacking an inshore series, so often uh companies will just attack. You know the florida market, uh or or the the south. The redfish trout market, but in shore around all the coast in the lower 48 can mean a lot of different things and it looks like st troy really jumped in and and attacked that for all regions.
So uh, that’s that’s a fantastic addition there for for saint croix and uh, maybe looking to check some of those out too on our coast for sure it’s neat too. They a lot sometimes we’ll make a new rod and like in the mojo and just change the colors and call the modes of intro, but you guys added components specific to inshore, like that, or is it applicable to that market in that region? So that’s neat, not just a you know: hey! It’s a green version of that rod.
It’s in short, now yeah, that’s really cool, no, that’s great uh! So that’s the mojo inshore series, uh spinning and casting a whole line from st croix uh coming up next dan uh we’ve got the the new triumph frauds and that’s a whole uh series of rods, a bunch of different uh types that that will be available on the site soon at tacowarehouse com.
