Sidi Ergo 4 Carbon Cycling Shoe - Men's
Sidi's Ergo 4 Carbon Men's Cycling Shoes are an investment, but the iconic brand hasn't earned its reputation making overpriced, overhyped shoes. With replaceable parts and thoughtful construction, Sidi shoes are made to last you seasons of hard riding. The Ergo 4 is a newer offering from the classic brand, and its carbon composite sole and incredible range of adjustability from Sidi's Tecno 3 buckle system promises to keep your feet happy and your hard-earned watts delivered on-time to the pedals with every turn of the crank arms.
Sidi shoes are known for being built with a range of small extras that make life a lot easier in the saddle. In case you don't dial-in just the right fit from Tecno 3 before you clip-in, the buckles are easy to reach for and adjust from the saddle, and while you're mashing the pedals down to reach the crest of a climb, Sidi's Adjustable Heel Retention Device will keep even the boniest heels locked firmly in-place so you don't waste power. The padded tongue keeps your instep free of frustrating pressure points, and the ventilated uppers keep air flowing freely between your toes.

Lake CX402 Wide Cycling Shoe - Men's
Finally: you can stop lamenting your relatives for passing on the paddle feet genes to you and ride with the same opulent cycling shoes as your slender-hoofed ride buddies. Sure, not every cycling shoe comes available in a wide width, but the Lake's enviable CX402 Wide Road Shoe does, and you won't feel like you're missing out on a thing when you slide your foot into this slipper.
Hailed across the industry for its luxuriously soft kangaroo leather uppers and heat-moldable carbon fiber outsole, the CX402 might be the most comfortable shoe you've ever put on. Yes, that's right: the outsole is heat moldable, which means the CX402 won't force you to try and cover up an unyielding, and uncomfortable, carbon fiber sole with an ill-equipped EVA insole. The uppers are highly customizable as well, with a dual BOA dial closure giving you infinite adjustment possibilities as well as the promise of kangaroo leather gradually molding to your foot over time. With the well-placed mesh inserts and perforations along the uppers, your foot will still be able to breathe as you test the carbon fiber sole's impressive power transfer at the end of a brutal climb.

Sidi Drako 2 SRS Cycling Shoe - Men's
Few shoes can rival the quality, fit, and durability of Sidi's Italian-made, high-end cycling shoes. Riders enjoy season after season of reliable service due to the quality construction and the ability to replace parts when they wear out. The Drako is one of Sidi's premier mountain bike shoes, and delivers outstanding performance on all fronts. It's been proven at the World Cup level by the likes of Absalon and Schurter, ensuring those of us aspiring to ride at that level have absolute confidence in our equipment. After building up a healthy reputation of XC domination over the years, Sidi went back to the drawing board to give the Drako some updates that improve comfort and performance while shedding a bit of weight in the process. With a sleeker upper strap, a repositioned lower dial, redesigned uppers, a new heel cup, and some striking new colorways, the Drako 2 SRS Mountain Bike Shoe continues Sidi's heritage of making some of the best riding shoes on the market.
The Drako 2 sits right near the top of Sidi's lineup, just below the race-specific Tiger shoe. Both shoes share the same uber-light and uber-stiff SRS Carbon sole, the difference is that the Tiger omits the Soft Instep Closure strap at the top of the foot in favor of dual Tecno-3 dials on the tongue. This design saves some weight and makes it a bit quicker to get the shoes on or off, but the Soft Instep Closure System found on the Drako 2 allows you to adjust the side to side position of the strap for optimal comfort, while providing a bit of extra security for the top of your foot. The new closure strap is a bit sleeker and lighter, and is easily replaceable if damaged or worn out.
Comparing the Drako 2 to its predecessor, the updated version sees the lower Tecno-3 Push Dial Adjuster moved from the side of the shoe to the top of the padded tongue. The idea behind this is to provide a more secure fit and equal tension across the whole foot. Sidi also gave the Drako 2 a new heel cup that keeps your foot in an optimal position without slippage while preventing deformation of the shoe from extreme performance or prolonged pressure. The heel cup is mated to new uppers as well. The new uppers are made of the same sturdy, lightweight, weather-resistant, and eco-friendly Techpro Microfiber as the previous model, but feature a unique textured finish and new matte colors that give the Drako 2 a one-of-a-kind look.
One thing that stays the same is the MTB SRS Carbon Sole. The sole comprises a medium-modulus carbon body supplemented with SRS tread blocks and a cleat wear plate, the latter two of which are replaceable. Using a medium-modulus carbon as the base provides a slight flex along the length of the foot with no compromise to the overall rigidity of the sole, a delicate but necessary balance for top-level off-road shoes.
Sidi's heel retention device also stays the same, using an adjustable, rigid composite band that closes the shoe more securely over your heel to anchor it in place around your Achilles. No matter how much power you're pouring into the pedals, your heel will stay in place inside the shoe, even if you leave a bit of slack in the Tecno-3 lines in order to alleviate pressure across your metatarsals.
Giro Cylinder HV+ Cycling Shoe - Men's
The Giro Men's Cylinder HV+ Mountain Bike Shoe uses a high-volume last that comfortably hugs wider feet without the pinching or pressure points you've come to expect from traditional cycling shoes. This means you'll reap the benefits of excellent response while pedaling uphill on long climbs and darting between trail obstacles on the descent, all while remaining comfortable through epic rides stretching in excess of 20 miles.
The Cylinder HV+ takes much of its design from the ever-popular Privateer from Giro, albeit it's placed at a lower price that's more accessible to the trail rider on a budget. Instead of the secure-ratcheting buckle on the Privateer, the Cylinder HV+ uses a Boa L6 dial that precisely tightens the upper with a quick twist. The Boa dial allows you to adjust its tightness and support level to your exact preferences, so you don't have to stop every five minutes to re-adjust your shoes on the trail. Boa is complemented with a lower hook-and-loop strap that remains secure over the top of your forefoot.
Looking to sole of the Cylinder HV+, you'll find it's co-molded with nylon and rubber for efficient pedaling when you're riding long distances and exerting yourself on long climbs. Grippy rubber traction lugs sit atop the co-molded sole, so you won't have to worry about slipping out over slimy forest roots and slickrock sections, should you decide to scope out your line before dropping in.

Northwave Tribe Cycling Shoe - Men's
The Tribe Cycling Shoe from Northwave gives freeriders, DH racers, and e-Bikers the shoe they want providing style and efficiency in one package. Northwave sought to improve the platform pedal experience by addressing a couple of key criteria: grip and durability.
For traction, Northwave co-developed the sole with Michelin Technical Soles after two years of research and the end result is Gecko+, claiming to be the stickiest compound on the market. An integrated rubber arch support ensures enhanced stability on the pedals and increased impact protection.
Inside the sole, an adaptive TPU shank with calibrated stiffness provides greater control and support. Openings along the medial zone and heel provide tuned flexion and control, improving your connection with the pedals while a horizontal wedge opening at the toe enables natural flexion of the foot for comfort while off the bike. Final sole details include the EVA midsole that minimizes weight and ensures effective shock absorption.
Up top, a suede upper with large mesh inserts and a tongue with customized padding make the shoes comfy and breathable. Abrasion-resistant rubber print reinforcements on the heel and a reinforced toecap help keep things durable while the non-stretch laces are easily stowed in the elasticated keeper keeping them out of your drivetrain.

Many trail riders could benefit from the foot-customizing technology found on the Louis Garneau Men's Granite II Shoe. Designed with X-Comfort Zone technology, the Granite II Shoe features an elastomer insert that brilliantly conforms to the unique width of your foot without compromising on comfort. This award-winning technology (it took a prestigious Eurobike award) allows you to wear your shoe size without thinking about the width.
