This is a video about the rcbs accessory. Base plate number two i didn’t find a lot of stuff online regarding how the. Base place looks so this is what the box. Comes in basic box inside which you have. Is the actual plate and instructions and. All the tools necessary to install the. Plate the tools that come with it are. Four wooden screws and an assortment of. Other screws that you can use for adding. Items onto the base plate base play itself it’s just a metal piece has. Various holes in it so basically you’re. Going to put the four wooden screws on their bolt it down to your bench and. Then the various letters here like c. Or d you’ll use to put in your press. So your powder drop or other items like that now what you see on this side here. Is the base plate with my press and the. Powder drop and notice here’s the. Screws with the washer for the pot of. The press and right next to it i had it. Uh just edit this one on here just so. You can see that you could put both of them on there it’s missing the other screw here but there’s the first screw. So they both will fit the press and your. Powder drops the only thing is if you. Have them both like that if your press. Is probably going to get in the way of when you’re doing your your. Charging or your shells so it’s probably. Best to take two of these and just use one for the press and one for the powder. Drop it’s pretty easy to take off you. Just unscrew the bolts and then this. This will move out of the way but this is just a quick review of the rcbs. Accessory baseplate.
The li lock ring eliminator includes two. Bushings with integral lock collar and allen wrench this provides unmatched precision and convenience when adjusting. Dies split clamp positively locks die. Into position and works well when using other brands of dies in your press the. Breech lock quick change system allows you to switch dies with a sixth of a turn rather than 14 or more turns loading. With a breech lock equipped press is convenient when loading small quantities of ammunition interrupted three start. Threaded eyes will return and lock into. The exact same position. You.
Okay guys i put my 45 shell plate on and. When i raise it when i come down it’s. Sinners okay now watch see this i got to. Give it a little turn sometimes not all the time say this one again see it turn. A little bit i have to push it that time. It’s centered up that time it’s centered. Up see so it seems to be only one half of. The shell plate unless i need. To do it quicker i don’t know sometimes. It gets hung up seats gotta move it say it all rights well it says to turn. The set screws clockwise to lower the pas and then set screw counterclockwise to. Raise the paul so i think i got to do the right paw and that should work but i. Don’t know if i should mess with it or not sometimes going up it seems like. It’s getting hung up to see it didn’t go. So i have to move it so all right so you. Guys with a hornady let me know now i did put a little dab of grease around. Here just i mean just smeared it on i. Didn’t fill the holes or nothing just a little bit of grease wheel bearing grease so all right let me know. Appreciate it sorry to bother you oops. Just like will handle by mistake so. Hey there gavin you hear from ultimate. Realtor.com in this video we’re going to get down and dirty with the hornady lock and load ap5 station progressive. Reloading press we’ll start with a full unboxing your going to walk through this with me and see everything that you’re going to get in the box everything how its packed that sort of thing then we’re going to mount the press I’ve got a special ultimate reloader sliding track system here that use 3/8. Inch bolts you can get eight reloading presses on the bench if i want to and i. Actually have done that after we get it mounted we’re going to do a full assembly to get this press ready to load ammunition so come along with me let’s. See what we’ve got in the box alright so. Here we go start by sliding the lid off. The only thing I’ve done is to take the plastic wrap off the outside of the box which was to take a picture so this. Is a completely fresh unboxing look at. That there’s the bear press assembly. We’ve got some materials here the owners. Manual etc hmm. Trying to get all of these spare cardboard buffer packing china out of. The way we can see what we’ve got okay. All right so i think we’ve got kind of. The primary goods out here the press. There we’ve got a pack with a mounting. Bracket and some bushings it looks like. Completed cartridge been bracket I’ve got. Five lock and load bushings one for each. Of the stations and the press these are. What you’re going to need for each die setup that you’re going to use just lock. In super quick okay we’ve got powder. Measure and related parts here some. Anti-corrosion wrap here light touch on. The knife okay so there is our powder. Major assembly hornady lock and load ap. Features a case activated design with. The rotating drum very accurate find. This type of powder measure to offer kind of the best overall results here’s. Our baffle. Baffle is going to sit inside the powder. Measure and ensure that we have. Consistent packing from full to empty. Which translates to consistent powder. Charges the only downside is when you have a powder baffle it takes a little bit longer to dump the powder but really. It’s not a real big deal okay some. Powder major parts just a few things. Here these are the different. Internal funnels inside the powder measure that we’ve got we’ve got some allen keys these are going to be the. Tools that we’re going to use to change primer parts to change shell plates that. Sort of thing okay so i don’t think. I’m missing anything there we’ve got. Various priming tubes we’ve got the. Explosion shield which hopefully you’ll never need we’ve got a large pickup tube. And a small pickup tube okay and then. We’ve got the actual primer drop tubes which sit inside the shield this is what. The stack of primers is that the shuttle is going to pick up from the bottom okay. This is our primer rod this is going to. Apply a slight weight to the stack of primers and I’m going to add a tape flag. So that we know exactly when we’re going to run out of primers and then of course. We have the actual lever that’s what. We’re going to handle if you will use to. Actuate the press okay we’ve got another. Box of parts here okay so looks like. This is our. Small rotor assembly for pistol charges. We’ve got the anti-corrosion packing i think that’s new i don’t recall that being part of the packing on some of the. Previous presses that I’ve worked with yeah so see you can see here the. Small diameter metering insert and hits. This lock and load system or you can just quickly attach those metering. Inserts that’s nice get our packing out of the way here all. Right now we’ve got some smaller parts so this is the ptx expander. Bracket this is going to allow us to use a ptx expander and dial in the amount of. Case mouth belly that is actually. Optional and we’ve got smaller parts. Here case retention springs wow look at. That we’ve got we now have three of. These you actually don’t use those up as. Much as you would think they actually can come apart and you can reattach them because there’s a smaller inner spring just rotate them to lock them but. It’s nice to have extras, so we’ve got extra primer slide here got the top of. The primer stack the plastic cap for. That this is a part of the priming system looks like a spare because it. Looks like we already have this part on the pro so hornady is up to the game in terms of spare parts which is really nice I’ve got a small primer punch here and. We’ve got an indexing paul which looks. To be another spare and that’s not all. We’ve got a couple more things here the. Spent primer drop tube that we can. Direct into a trash can we’ve got the. Actual powder die that’s the part that’s. Going to screw into the lock and load bushing you can do a quick change on that leave those set up for cap cartridge all right guys so at its core. This is what we’ve got let’s walk through the parts all right so I’ve. Taken a moment to kind of organize everything just a little bit better and to put everything into category groups. So that you can see exactly what you’re going to get with the press, so we have the reading materials the owner’s manuals essentially we have spare parts indexing pall priming system top arm to. Extra case retention springs we’ve got. The allen keys we’ve got the press handle lever we’ve got priming system parts we’ve got. The small priming components that we can. Swap out the shuttle in the punch we’ve. Got the top cap we’ve got drop tubes for large and small. Primers we’ve got pickup tubes for large. And small primers the powder major assembly comes with everything that you’re going to need pretty much to load any type of cartridge except the really big guys like 50 bmg we’ve got a pistol. Rotor and meeting your metering insert we’ve got a rifle rotor and metering. Insert which comes installed on the powder measure the powder baffled powdered ip6 expander bracket we’ve got. Different drop funnels for different configurations of cartridges we’ve got. The return spring we’ve got the completed cartridge bin we’ve got the. Completed cartridge been bracket the press the spent primer drop tube and the. Retention spring that we’re going to use which we install under the shell plate. So with that let’s mount the press okay. So I’ve got my plate mounted to the. Bench time.bye knobs what I’ve got here. Is a solid aluminum plate that’s got a. Couple of tapped holes in it for seven sixteenths bolts I’ve got a stud on the one side because when you mount a lock. And load press with the case feeder attached it actually has a square tube that sits sort of over this mounting hole so having a stud and a nut is quiet. A bit easier than having a bolt to deal with and then I’ve got a bolt on the. Other side so what we’re going to do is take the press put our bullet completed cartridge bin. Bracket down drop a washer drop our bolt. On this is going to get us close now we. Can kind of get stuff pria lines there now I’m going to align my bolt hole on the other side whatever you decide to do. Make sure that you have your press very solidly mounted more solid the better so. I’m going to type my bolt on the one. Side makes sure my riser blocks are. Appropriately oriented alright so we know. Have our press mounted solidly to the. Bench let’s put on the handle next so. We’re just going to take the press handle of course we’re going to make. Sure that we get these threads started. Our cross threading kind of basic but. Sometimes patience is required snug that. Baby down okay handles on so let’s put. The powder major together and get that. Installed on the press we’re going to drop in the baffle just going to drop right to the bottom okay we’re going to. Put the cap on and let’s see we’re going. To need to put the powder down in the press that’s probably the easiest way here so just spin on lock and load. Bushing drop the bushing into the press. Lock that into place now we’re going to need the appropriate drop funnel I’m going to be loading 6-5 creed moor so I’m going to need the short rifle funnel. That’s not right i can always just drop one in I’m going to loosen this mounting. Screw here which is going to hold this. Case activation linkage captive okay now. We just need to drop on the spring and. We’re basically there well there you have it. Now you can see everything that you get with hornady lock and load ap press which is pretty much everything that you’ll need to load standard rifle and pistol cartridges we also saw how easy. It is to put the press together most of it is actually preassembled got one final touch here putting the completed cartridge bin onto the bracket so I’m. Excited I’m ready to set this press-up. For 65 creed moor we’re going to add a shell plate we’re going to add dies we’re going to use these lock and load bushings to do that stay tuned because that video is coming soon now if you. Welcome back youtube today we’re going. To be talking about the rcbs rock. Chapter supreme single stage reloading press extremely nice setup very good. Value for the money it’s very simple and. Straightforward not a lot of fancy features but for forming cases and things of that nature is a great press. Okay I’m going to show you some of the basic features of it but in a nutshell. You’ve got a nice sturdy rim here and. The handle is you know got a real nice. Profile to it good large size and a lot. Of mass the press itself the body of the. Press is extremely heavy and strong and. I believe it’s a investment-grade iron casting or cast iron you’ve got just. Under four inches of clearance and then for the die choices you can use standard. Seven eighths a fourteen thread pitch dies pretty much your industry standard. Or you can remove this bushing that’s in. Here and you can use the larger dies if. You want to reload like 577 450 martini-henry 50 bmg and so forth the 50. Bmg may not have white enough clearance. With this space in here but it should. Clear because on the box they show a got 1150 on it so the priming arm is set up. In a simple manner similar to the way. You expect on any single stage press it. Comes with both large and small priming. Cups that of course are easy to change out on your own this device right here. Catches all of you spent primers quiet. Reliably the arm of the press can be. Changed over to either left or right-handed as you may prefer this nut. Right here is an indexing nut for tightening out the arm of the press that’s really about all there is to it’s a really solid unit I’m going to prime some cases on it for you and load up some ammo. I’ve already been forming some of the 7/7 japanese arisaka ammunition on it or. Forming cases and it does very well with. Forming cases in general and it really. Made short work of that a conversion which is basically just simple 3006. Conversion but it definitely makes a short work of that conversion process it. Looks good very effortless priming operations on. This thing the actual amount of movement. And mechanical advantage that you get with the arm and everything and the. Leverage you get is outstanding i mean you can feel the primer seat firmly oh. Yeah it looks fun i don’t know how many. Of you use separate priming tools for. Doing your brass I’ve always like to prime off the press just because i do. Prefer the feel that you get priming off. Of the press and that’s just my. Preference but I’ve always preferred you. No priming on the press it takes a little longer but i just like the. Leverage you get all right I’m going to. Seat a couple of bullets on this thing. Remove the primer arm out of the way which is nice about this press just flip. It out of the way. Loading 174 green serum match kings from. Arasaka will try them out sunday very. Smooth ram a lot of good leverage. Available i mean it just feels right you. Now you can feel whatever things doing what’s going on it’s about. All this video was meant to be was just to show this press in action because it. Really is a nice piece of machinery it’s made well i mean it’s. Just solid and that’s the bottom line they’re not especially cheap but you do. Get what you pay for to a degree. I like this press too because it’s got a. Real noticeable amount of over travel. When you set the press to bump you can definitely tell when it over cams right. There i mean it just does so. Well it’s a great press. I’m just basically trying to show some of the linkage working from different angles just in case any viewer curious. As to how it all fell together i mean. This press i mean it just practically runs itself it’s just a great setup well. Hopefully this video is pretty much summed this press-up i mean not to beat. A dead horse but that’s about all there is to it’s a great simple rig that. Anybody can use and if you got some. Monster case forming to undergo it’s. Great for that also if I’m not mistaken. I believe our cbs makes a specially. Designed turret that actually screws. Into this press I’ll have to do some further research on that but there is a lot of potential for upgrades as far as i know it’s a great price either for. Entry-level or for an experienced hand loader you can’t go wrong the rock checkered supreme.
Okay the moment you’ve all been waiting for the fires going okay so you’re. Something you’re gonna wait today. Videos today’s so today’s about a bunch. Of boxes with reloading stuff in it you know i got a few little nubs and stuff in there I’ll show you after I’m gonna talk about my rock chucker press however. The name is misleading because it does not chuck rocks too bad it’ll be so. Music but it’s a pretty good press i. Reloaded a few wells I’m this is probably. A couple hundred rounds off of it easy it’s not something that you use every day and i got some some of the stuff i. Would hear not everything came with the. Kit I’ll show you the kit in the box. Here some of the stuff i will review. Separately this is everything it comes with and this is a boat of probably five for 5,500 bucks whatever it was that’s. Pretty much everything it comes with and. You would think that it’d be enough i think you know but it’s not there’s always other things you got to buy so I’m gonna do probably each thing of the. Equipment kind of separately i will start with the press i might not get it all done today but it’s just so much to do to cover so here’s the press and how. It works is pretty straightforward you know you put your you got your shell holder here okay. And you’ll have to get a different shell holder for different calibers this fits. No problem for the 308 and. Yeah make it difficult to do one hand but anyway this fits the 308 shell older. Or up to three 3/8 lapua now in here. I have the sizing and died of pop. Out the primer i didn’t add it on but. You can get a what comes with the press. Is a little arm that comes out here what. You put in this groove here and when you’re coming down it’ll actually seat the primer for you okay and that’s fine. And dandy at all but it’s extremely slow. To do it that way so because you have to. Basically take the shell put the primer case in their okay flip that little arm. Bring it down it’ll seat the primer case it’ll probably see the problem a lot. Of guys but telling me why they don’t like that as much is because you through. The arm you can’t feel that the primer being seated is easy and what ends up. Happening is that you can over crush the primer into the casing i. Haven’t used it so i don’t know because. I used basically another tool that I’ll. Show you but basically when you get the rock trucker press which you can buy the press by itself they will not come with a single die you have to buy your die separate because they don’t know what calibrate them is shooting right so there’s a lot of add-ons you’re going to have to buy another but it is a it’s a. Very solid process cast iron opposed to. Aluminum you’re gonna pay more for it. But you know that’s what that’s why. People love this press it’s a single stage press different stage presses a. Lot of people don’t understand when you hear single stage you know two stage. Press you can get presses that will do. More than one thing for example this does one action out of high yeah I’ll just grab my casing here I’m. Just curious well that buddy so yes you. Got one stage out of time so you put in your okay, so we’ll see we put in my. Fresh piece so I’ve now shot I’m not. Gonna push all the way down there’s this dry case, but we’ll say the case is lubed up i put it in their okay i pop the. Primer out and you can see all the primers i got lying in there and it’s popped out i pulled it up now the case of shape so i take the case out that’s one stage now i put my primer in i now. Put the case back in okay and i flip the. Larm right down now see did the primer. Okay now take it out again i go over. Here then there’s powder in their thank you for mr. powder i put it back in again I’ve changed my die I’ll talk about the. Dye separately i grab my bullet put it on like so and. I’m definitely not gonna push it up it’s not the right time i push it up now i got myself a round all done so that’s uh that’s pretty much. How it works but you can see that at. Each time you have to kind of redo. Everything when you have a multi-stage press which you’ll pay a lot more for. You’ll do one will take out the. Primer and it’ll scoot over you’ll be. Like a round eye that turns each time you pull the arm down and the next one you can put another shell case in it and it’ll do that action again and the next action it’ll then you know put it in a. Primer and you can lower the powder in. You know with one of these which I’ll. Cover that separate then from there you can go and do it again it’ll do the. Bullet and each stage wall you know it goes around so i you know you can do a heck of a lot more a lot quicker how. Many rounds per minute can you load i don’t know because either way i do. Everything i do everything in different stages i you know for example i clean. All my cases at once i also i lean all. My cases at once i pop all the primers are shaped the casings all at once and then when I’m done that i load my. Powders and i put them all into a shell. Holder like so and i got some 300 win made here just for you to look at I’ll load it all onto there and then once this is full of all the powders i usually don’t do more than about five rounds at a time because one thing about reloading is you have to give it 110 percent attention if not your again the difference between a pipe bomb and a. Rifle is pressure so if you load you. Now if you’re not paying attention you can overload the case with too much. Powder and you know or the wrong powder. You know which could be very violent dangerous so you want to do it as safely as possible so it’s kind of one of those things that oh yeah well I’m just gonna sit down and I’m gonna do. 80 casings and you know nothing’s gonna. Disturb me and everything you’re gonna do your first casing and you’re ready to go you’ve got all these sitting with powder and you pull the arm down here somebody called you and you kind of. Go do that you know because most of the time is like here’s what’ll happen can you get them to call back oh it’s really important you gotta talk to them now okay so you go talk to them and then where were you when you came back you know or it shoots up the enough. Time night okay I’m not gonna get this all done so do little bits out of time now if you have a multi-stage you can do. As many rounds as you can do i always say do the rounds and tell it once you’re not concentrating then move away from you know go do something else. So do a little bit whatever is you know maybe your epic i could load 300 rounds in a row you know and now if iron-clad. Concentration maybe you’re that you’ve got a td and you can do three rounds or two rounds or whatever it is you find what works for you but as far as the press do i recommend that i highly recommend it was highly. Recommended for me other people are. Saying like this is the press that you know it’s more expensive even the guy in. The story goes he goes you go he goes I’m not on commission and there’s something i used to tell people in a store look I’m just giving you the honest answer it’s not I’m not on commission you know it’s just it works. So can you break these things yes you can break them you could twist them hence why you should never over force if. Something is really difficult to do there’s probably a reason why something’s probably jam or misaligned now i made a kind of makeshift bench. Definitely not solid enough make sure. You have a good solid bench that’s how. You twist things and break things i just you know I’m just really careful when i. Do it and you know do as i say not as i. Do so to speak you know the dice very. Easy to get it is a standard fitting. From what i understand so if you have a look skewed be a layman’s press or rbc. Ass i forget the other one there’s a couple of different well it’s quite a few different brands out there but the rcbs is definitely this is the rock. Trucker for ib it definitely is a very. Every everybody I’ve ever talked to that. Is majorly into reloading if you’re going to buy a single stage press this is the one to buy that said yuma you’re. Gonna get I’ll probably see in the comments i had wanted it sucked you know but you know you find what works for you. Like i mean everybody can get that the. Product that was built on the monday or the friday this one. It’s it I’ve had no problems with it i don’t use it every day but i you know. I’ve got a again a couple hundred rounds. And I’ve only owned this thing for a little over a year again i don’t use it every day but when i use it gets you know it sees its mileage so to get into. It you’re gonna spend it like i mean be prepared to spend close to a thousand dollars by the time you’ve got everything you know but you could start with this will get you going plus the dye I’ll have to buy separate no matter what calipers and you’re. Probably the case trimmer that was. Separate i bought some things this is. The thing you best to buy a kit to start with because for example i bought this. When i first bought by what’s called my. Winchester and I’ve already covered me. Loader kit i bought this and of course this. And that was pretty much what i needed to get started and then of course you. Get a books now the thing is when. You get started it’s like okay well you want to get into more than i decided to get the press so now i have two basically two of these and this is very. Common with guys that get into reloading they’ll start off with a press like this, and they’ll be like okay well i do too. Much reloading to really be slowed down by a single-stage press so you know you. Could flog all this who somebody else who wants to get in reloading flog all this put it towards okay yes its something I’m gonna do something I’m gonna get into yes i can go up to a two-stage or an automatic press i mean you know you the sky’s the limit of what you can do you know as far as reloading goes you know it’s all okay well i reload you know 700 rounds at a time you’re not gonna want a single-stage press for very long i don’t load that much to me the single stage press it does what i want to do. I’m not providing the army with ammunition not by providing law enforcement with the ammunition I’m just providing me some target recreational. Ammunition and hunting ammunition so for me i don’t need to do to stage surprise if you have the money sure but then. There’s the guy who goes out, and he buys you know the ultra deluxe press and low. And behold he load reloads maybe once a year once every other a year, and he spent you know $$1,0001,500 $2,000 on. Something that’s excellent and automated. But he never uses it you know the type of guy that and if you’re this type of guy I’m not putting them down it’s just it’s just cuz i know what people are like with you know and stuff like that you know is they’ll buy. 20 rounds okay, and they’ll reload at once they realized that okay this is actually a lot of work no matter which way you go with it if. You’re going for precision for example these things they’ll give you an. Approximate granule at measurement if. You’re loading precisely yes this is a quick way to reload for bulk but you. Need this you definitely need this so. What i do is i get this i fill it up i put it set my scale and i put it in there and then what i end up with is you. Now you know accurate accurate reloads then i get my accuracy so i have. To take my time no matter what if because i that’s all i look for is accuracy not for bulk which you know you. Could say i look for bulk in the fact that I’m loading for accuracy multiple. Times over you know a couple hundred. Rounds out of time but i might not do a hundred rounds in a you know to me if i can get twenty ten rounds twenty rounds in a day loaded like that once you get. To the point where you’re seating the putting in the powder and seating the bullets that that part goes quick but. It’s all the preparation up to that point that’s really slow inspecting the case is cleaning the cases sizing the. Cases popping the primers out that takes a while you know that takes a while it’s. It’s not difficult it just takes a while then of course you’ve got after that you. No dumping the powder in again i have. To powder measures but unfortunately i lost one of my little bowls or didn’t. Come with it maybe and i don’t know if i can get these separate if i can haul it because then i can you know kind of increase my reloading now let’s say okay. Well that’s too slow well you can get automatic things for example cleaning the cases that’s one of the next things that’ll probably build on to this is. Getting a case cleaner you know why a. Case trimmer in a case cleaner that’s automatic is much quicker. And it’s more automated the more precise. You can get the more precise you can get so there’s a bunch of accessories that i can get so at some point i may say okay I’m gonna sew off this this and this I’ll sell off everything and just great to another kit but for now this’ll know next couple of years I’ll get my money’s worth out of it you know because again if you’re going to spend a thousand fifteen hundred bucks on. Reloading its something that you want. To make sure that you like to do that it’s worth it for you to do isn’t necessarily cheaper to reload not necessarily depending on the caliber the. Bigger the caliber the cheaper kind of gets the more off common the caliber the cheaper it gets for example if you’re reloading say 303 british you tend to. Save a bit more than if you’re reloading. Say 308 which i 308 it’s just because. It’s so available common on the shelf that it becomes to the point where it’s. Almost harder to reload it than it is to. Buy it not all the times i mean but i mean at one point i was getting the junk ammunition the russian stuff 11 bucks a. Box right there’s there’s no way i can you know 50 cent’s around i probably. Load for between 60 and 80 cents around. On the minimum maybe a buck 22 a buck 60. On the high end depending on the bullet type and all that stuff but you know the. Casing is the only thing that’s reusable out of a out of it so at the end of. The day you know a good solid press is what you need i don’t know what else i. Could really say about it’s such a basic thing that there’s really not a lot you know like everything is sturdy all the connections are sturdy when you get it you put it together it’s heavy probably weighs about 20 pounds i. Don’t know maybe 10 pounds 15 pounds. Easy if you drop it or bump it in this. Cast iron you can break it don’t over. Force it fairly easy to take care of you. Now just same with the dies and all that but anyway that’s the beginning of the rough check chucker press i highly. Recommend one it doesn’t really matter what you go with i do say if you are going to get into it either go ultra. Cheap like a lean loader kit which will. Make something the idea that you here’s. The basic of it you’re putting bullets together with a hammer okay so if that just makes you cringe. Then this is probably not the way you want to go but it’s a great way to start I’ve haven’t had any problem and I’m. Gonna dispel a myth right now that and. I’ll just take this one so you can see it you get a little bit of load out of here this is almost everything you need but even when you buy this for like 30 or 40 bucks you’re still going to need okay a case trimmer and a method of. Powder and that so you’re still looking at by the time you’ve got your book and everything you’re still looking at $200 to start you know this is cheap now people will buy this and I’ve seen them do the most dangerous things i just grabbed this they dump it into their shelf they don’t cuz they do that’s just. To scoop it doesn’t tell you how much powder well it does but it doesn’t tell you in grande grains and not every show. Is going to use the same grains but some. People say well you can’t get any accuracy out of this those people are stupid that means they don’t know what they’re doing you can make the ammunition as. Accurate with this as you can with that. Providing you have the other supporting tools for example if i do not have a case trimmer then my accuracy is going. To suffer if i do not have the proper powder measure my safety will suffer the. Powder scale and so will you know that. That’s where it gets the consistency is in the powder it’s in the primers and the case lengths its details this just. Puts the bullets together and the hammer i mean it isn’t matter if you have a cheap $2 hammer or a ten thousand dollar hammer it still works the same and then of course your calipers this is probably again the most important tool out of the whole thing cuz this tells you where your precision is so just to start you’re going to need this and this. And this and that so you’re looking at. About 200 bucks just to start into it minimum your mileage might vary and then. Of course those two tools so this just takes you from there for their sole interest and so the next question someone’s going to ask is if that can. Reload ammunition just as accurately as this and just as good as this why would i want this well. The simple answer is for 10 to 20 rounds. An hour 40 to 60 rounds an hour that’s. The difference if you have multistage. Press maybe it’s a hundred rounds an hour 200 rounds an hour you get the idea so that’s what you’re paying for much. Easier to do law it’s just it’s its. It’s smoother and quicker to do than it is with that because that every stage is by hand so to speak where this just kind of does everything more a little. But more automated for you even though you have to remove the show you don’t do everything in stages so that’s the basic of it I’ll leave it at that I’ve. Got lots more to cover here i don’t. Hey guys its convoluting special welcome. Back to the channel preciate stopping by if you follow me on. This rim you’ve seen a preview or a snap. It was a while back but you know a. Couple months ago but you were saying. That he saw that i was getting into a little bit of getting started gathering. Gear for reloading i finally got around. Rcbs rock chuck or press if you asked. Clover tack over at one gun channels. He’s suggest going with a i want to say. It’s dillon but i can’t be you know I’m not sure progressive that you can take a. Part of the mechanism out so you can use. It as a single stage for learning then you can upgrade it later myself personally this is when oh i want an older version. But this is what i learn to reload on so. That’s what I’m gonna continue with I’m not so worried about speed because i find it to be rather relaxing to reload. So I’ve just decided to say with the. Single stage but i do currently load for. Rifle well i learned originally load on. My 32 winchester special rifle which is. A neck depth 3030 old-school bottleneck. Rimmed cartridge which i have video on. On the channel if you want to take a closer look you know what you know you. Manuals i do plan on picking up a spear. Manual as well because it’s not a bad. Idea when you’re getting ready to load a. New manual that’s alright a new load for. A new cartridge or just changing loads or whatnot you’re gonna want to. Reference a couple of different manuals some are written more conservatively some are written less conservative and. So you’ll get even for the same slug. Some powder you’ll get different charge. Recommendations so being able to. Cross-reference between a couple different manuals is a good idea so that. Way you can to feel out what a good starting load. Would be because you don’t want to load it on too hot because you when you fire. A gun it is a controlled explosion the. Last thing you need to do is loading a. Lot hand load something incorrectly and. Turn that controlled explosion into a non controlled and have a pipe bomb going off in your face there are a lot. Of people over on gunn channels that. Now a far sight more than i do and. There i actually asked them questions as i get a chance clover tack is one of them i don’t have. Here this is the it’s not complicated it is the rcbs supreme master reloading kit. I like these guys because they have a lifetime warranty on their gear but since i don’t often open up new gear i. Thought we would take a second to but. You see what’s in the box if you like me you’re curious so let’s open it up and. See what we got it’s not a progressive. Press as a single-stage press what we. Have first things first. Yeah our loading blocks so this is for. Various calibers you’ll see here they’re marked on two I’m sure if you flip it over its three and four different size. Holds hold different sizes of shells so. When you’re working on your shells there’s enough room here to get your hands in between and pick them out while. You’re priming and go priming and casing and resizing and powdering it always off so loading block this little piece of. Literature here this is a spear reloading manual this is currently version 14 this comes as part of the kit for those of you that are just curious about as buying the kit itself or buying. The parts individually this manual by itself is about 50 bucks so this kit ranges between the lowest I’ve seen it. Is on nachos com4 289 although they’re. Sold out currently let me think. Currently midway sells it for 320. Cabala’s does it for 380 and bass pro. Sells it in the store for 354 so this. Kit came from bass pro the manual is 50. Bucks of that all on its own so just. Keep that in mind so you’re getting a pretty good value manual for your press not really that. That complicated to use as you can tell the instructions are about four pages long this is your hand priming tool this. Gets a simulator this is for putting. Primers on you lay all your primers in. In here it feeds them through one time and you prime your cases that way so. Powder funnels very small opening. It’s got a screw base on the bottom here some of the lock nuts and. Pieces for the press assembly everything. Get more pieces for the press a rotary. Brush for cleaning. Case cleaning tools allen wrench for. Assembling the press and changing tools. Our making adjustments very you know not. A big savings there but you could buy this pretty much anywhere it does take the sizes on that’s not everything from 120 to 5/32 case loom. Which we were never well not to say never, but we’re not going to use much of ever because I’m using i use a carbide. Sizing die i mean a carbide dies as. Opposed to steel dies so i don’t need this case lou pad which again hopefully. I out of me but comes with a kit if you. Don’t like it just reset but you go for. My cleaning tool and whatnot here. It’s a nice little tool for cleaning. Your primer pockets a stripping tool. This is a manual case trimming tool it’s. Not the fun one if you will work at this if you do it this way but it is included i don’t know the price if. You bought it by itself but I’m going to say somewhere around probably 15 20 bucks but this allows you to debug and. Trim you clean your cases and now we’re. Down to do parts and this pretty box. These videos for jim show you the three. Classic trick press. This is one of the turrets I’ve got the. Leaf or die set installed in here for. Forty five cold so install just dropping. Then like that now this is the auto. Indexing rod it’s got a little plastic. Piece on the top that engages in with. The turret and then this piece sits down. Here on the bottom and it’s held in. Place with a screw i took that off as well. Because i like to do the indexing. Manually like this and when they removed you can turn this thing in any direction as you want you can skip a station if. You want to just have a lot of. Flexibility on I’m used to doing it that way now it comes with two primer arms. And they both added at a glance they. Look the same and even looking at them. This way you have to look close to tell which ones for large and which ones for small primers so what i did was i took. Some nail polish and just put an l on. The large and an s on the small that way. I can tell it a glance so this is 45. Long colt which takes a large primer arm. So you just take them and drop them down. In their like that’s how they. That’s how they go in. There’s a rope there’s a roll there’s a roll pin in there that engages into this. Little hook area right there that. So keeps it in like scott and then. Here’s your shell holder for a 45 long cold. That’s it rights there now when this. Thing is lowered all the way you’ll notice that that primer pin is sticking. Out through the shell holder well what. That also means is if you have a shell in there and you lower it all the way you can’t you can’t pull the shell out. Or put one in because that that primer. Devices is holding it captive so because. Of that what i do is i do all of my. This is the d capping and resizing guy. So i put up i put a shell in there that. Needs resizing i pick up a primer i drop. It in there and then i run that up into the die and then when i lower it i push. It forwards and reprime then i have to. Raise it up just a little bit so i can take this one off and put the next one on okay so after I’ve done my batch like. That then what i do is i just pop this. Off take the primer arm out and put the. Shall holder back in now i can lower the. Shall holder down as low as i want to. And it won’t interfere the primer arm. Won’t interfere effect of you know. Taking shells in and out so i use. The primer arm for this very first stage. And that’s it then after that i just remove it and i don’t worry about it for. The rest of the operation now in the. Second die this is your expander die it. Flares the mouth of the cartridge so. That you can get a bullet to start. That one’s already flared and see now if. If you don’t flare it you can’t that the boy the board will go. In there to start it now what you got to. Do these dyes come there’s a hole in the. Middle of them which lets you flare the. Mouth and also drop the powder in now. When you get it from lead they have this little aluminum plug at the top which has got a hole in the middle of it and lee makes a funnel the fits in there just perfect like that so you can run. Your casing up like this and just dump. In a measure charge let’s say you let’s. Say you were doing real precision shooting and you were measuring every. One of them on your on your scale you take it off the pan and. Just dump it in okay now what I’m doing. Is I’m using this auto drum. Measuring device and I’ve already got a. Riser screwed on there and what you have. To do is when we first install the. Turret gun the unscrew this plug and. Take the little o-ring off put the plug. Back in the box so you don’t lose it the. O-ring goes on here and they need to. Screw down and you die okay like that. Now that’s already adjusted and I’ve. Locked the adjustment with this dial operate now what you’ll notice. What when i run this up in there you’ll see that it’s operating the mechanism. For dumping the powder. And then here’s the here’s the hopper. Powder sits on top like that okay so the. Adjustment here with this audio drum is that you’ve got to get this thing so it comes up far enough if. It doesn’t come up far enough it won’t operate it all the way it or just be a partial operation like that it will drop any powder or maybe not enough after a. While you’ll see how far you have to bring it up now if you bring it up too far then you’ll start crushing your cases so you have to bring it up almost. Really to a full stroke but without. Going too far alright so that’s that. Stage the next stage these guys have the. Potential to do two things they can see. The bullet and crimp at the same time but because you’ve got a ford i set the. Fourth guy is your crimper so what you do with these is you screw them down. Until you can feel the crimping part touching the case and then you back it. Out I’ll back it out about a turn and then this knob up here is used to. Control how deep the bullet is put. In so you start like this and you rate run it up in there and you keep turning. This down until the bullet is seated to the proper depth and the proper depth. Depends on the caliber and what type of bullet you’re using etc and then the. Fourth die is the crimper now in the for. Die set this also does two things it’s. Got a carbide insert because if you’re using cash led bullets some sometimes. These aren’t perfectly round and. There you can end up with little small. Little bulges in the case from the. Bullets not being perfectly round but. When it goes in through this carbide winging it is out any. Imperfections in the cast bullet. And then this knob adjusts the crimp. Right here the other thing i wanted to. Show you is when you’ve got four dies in. There you can see that the dialect rings are pretty close to each other and you don’t have a lot of room in here to get a wrench i think that’s an inch and a quarter so. Rcbs makes a thin-walled. Socket i think i paid eight dollars for. This thing and of course it works on our cbs lock rings but it also fits needs. These lis ones and works just perfect so. You can now when you lock when you lock. This one down good you might have to. Unscrew this so you can get this over it. But the rest of them you can just put. This right over top of it and help hold your turret and you can loosen. These up now there is some play in here but it engages on all that all the. Corners and it will it’ll tighten to loosen no problem and then the way i. Store these turrets is i went out and. Bought a three-eighths inch hardwood. Dowel and if you’ve cut these i got a. Scrap piece of lumber and drill 3/8 inch. Holes in it with my drill press and then. Pound a section of this stuff into the piece of wood and then these just. Sit will sit right up on their like that, and they’re under stable three-eighths. Inch hardwood dowel. At the bottom i don’t know if it’s in the field of view at the bottom you’ve got this tube that catches the. Primers and i have on the end of it i. Have the little red cap and when i see. It’s getting full I’ll just empty it into a can some people probably just. Leave it open at the bottom and just set a small trash can down there to catch all the primers so hope this. Helps.
The Easiest way to do it is for me to just take a video and show you how i did it i. Don’t think you need any help trying to. Figure out how to model it’s your bench the most important thing is to have a flush surface that you see here with very little overhang because there is enough torque in these machine when you pull that handle down to curl over an. Edge and also you want to reinforce. Underneath the bench all the way back to. The wall and i would say at the very. Minimum two or three ganged up two by. Fours or two by sixes front to rear and. Screwed all the way through at the front. My bench doesn’t have any legs on the. Back I’ve got it anchored directly to the wall but many people put it on four. Legs and they do fine with it. The most important thing is to simply have a good attachment to the wall so it won’t pull forward when you mount the. Bench when you mount the press to the. Bench one of the things that you’ll notice is that the handle comes detached. The most important thing to keep in mind. Is that this handle has a bend to. It that particular bend is to clear the. Primer feed attachment so you want to. Have a curled away from the machine and the other thing is to notice that the bottom of the tube has to go all the way. Through the press i would pass it. Through at least so you have a quarter of an inch through the other side you. Can pass as much through as you want to which allows you to have a little bit shorter swing but this presses get. Compound leverage so whatever way feels. Most comfortable for you is fine then. Once you get a set up you’ll notice that. The there’s a couple of extra parts that. Come in the bag one of them is this. Primer feed hanger and let me. Stop the video and I’ll bring it up closer so you can see that no right. There pete you can see the primer feed hanger the way that’s attached. Now you notice pete that looking on from. The front of the machine I’ve got a slightly angled you’ll be able to figure. Out the best angle once you get the primer feet attachment hung as you see. Right now with the primer feed hanging. In the direction that’s hanging it’s actually swinging on the axis of the. Main shaft that you want to have the. Primer feed swing directly towards the center of that shaft which is where the primer is actually going to sit on the. Top of the ram and another important. Thing to notice here is the washer goes. Above the spacer and the flats are. Toward the machine one of the really. Nice things about the lis machine is the. Way they have the primer disposal system. Many companies have nothing at all. Except a tray which gets dirty and messy the tube is just simply pushed onto the. Attachment at the end of the press what i did was just wrap a piece of wire around it but a cable tie would be a lot. Prettier a lot nicer now these are the. Remaining parts that actually come with the press these are both to feed the. Primer feed arms and there is one for. Small primer in one for large primarily pretty easy to identify you can mark them on the side with a magic marker to make things easier for. If you want but you’ll you’ll find this pretty simple the other thing is the. Rotation shaft this is actually what. Actuates the turning mechanism on the one. The turret it can be left out for. Single-stage operation or to control. Feed or you can put it in during full. Automation of course anything that you. Really need to know is listed in their. Manual if there’s any failing with the lis. System is that i think they presume that everybody who buys one of these machines. Is mechanically adept and they don’t go. Into specific details on how to turn screws but most of it’s pretty simple to. Figure out now that’s pretty much the. Basic stuff with regard to mounting the press now we’ll get into how too actually. Attach the dies and the powder mechanism. First of all simply take turret and. Place it on top of the machine without the rotation axle and just. Index it into place now your dies will. Come with these three right here the. First one is a decapping die and. Resizing dial in one you’ll see at the. Bottom there’s a in the center there’s a. Decamping pin that pushes out the old. Primer and the body of the die is shaped. The same exact dimensions as your chamber perhaps it’s supposed to be a tiny bit smaller than your chamber of. Your rifle so that the round will feed. Correctly and at the top of it you’ll. Notice that there is the pin protrude through the nut that nut is simply a. Collet nut which is screwed down under. Force if you should for any reason need. To adjust that or you get a stuck case you can loosen you can loosen that nut. Up and then drive down with a ball-peen. Hammer or if that’s a hardened that the hardened pin you can drive down with a ball-peen hammer and drive the stuck case out that’s that’s an eventualities. An away from though if you can avoid it because it wastes the case and it takes. About ten minutes to get back into operation but the first thing that we’re going to want to do is to first of all. Just place this in the press to get it started. And then we need to place a shell holder on the top of the ram to do our final. Adjustments now your set of dies may. Just come with one shell holder someday. If you have enough calibers you probably want to buy a kit full of them and that. Will give you all the primary shell holders that you’ll need for the lion’s share of cartridges in the world and. Packed inside the shell holder set on. The back you’ll find the card which. Lists all the different calibers and if. You look for two to three Remington you’ll find it right here down about an inch and a half from the top and the first column and it says right there. That we need shell holder number four about shell holder number four and then. Place that snap it rights in it should. Come to a dead stop now this. Machine that really comes clean from the factory but i would be careful to take. Any possible chips of metal out of. Grooves so get yourself a small little pink brush and wipe those out, and we. Don’t need the primer feet arm in there. Right now and it gets in the way but the. First thing we’ll do is we’ll raise the ram all the way to the top and then. Screw the die all the way down until the. Die contacts the top of the shell holder. Now you’ll notice that you’ll notice. That each of these dies has a 7/8 oh. Ring wrapped around the body that o-ring. Is a special lee invention that allows. You to tighten this die down without the. Use of lock screws and all sorts of. Widgets that other companies have come up with that really don’t work this doesn’t in any way damage the die and it. Makes the adjustment very simple with fingers only most of the time but. What you want to do is back off that locking ring sufficiently so that you can be sure that you’ve bought them and once you bottomed out on the rim as. You can see here and you make sure that. You’re not boiled out on the locknut until the ram is contacted then screw. Down with your fingers onto your locking. Ring now what moved there was just. Simply the i turn the turret but you. Just want to turn that down until it’s finger tight and if you wish you can. Give it an extra forceful turn with your. Fingers until you’re sure that oring is crushed that’s once that’s. Adjusted and set into operation there’s. No need to move that ever again now just. Simply raise the lever and move the ram. All the way these stations index. Clockwise so simply move your turret. Clockwise to the next index position now. One of the accessories that you purchase with allay rifle charging die that’s a. Special powder dump die and it’s tall. Enough so that it will clear all the other dies in the turret and it says on. Italy rifle and it should say c2 perhaps. Now again will raise the ram and will. Back the lock ring off enough so that we. Can be sure that we’re either all the. Way down in these are standard seven. Eighths by fourteen machine threads very. Universal thread this year throughout the industry lead eyes will accept anybody else’s leaf presses will accept. Anybody else’s dies and vice versa. Now this time rather than screwing the. Dye all the way down in we first want to remove how to funnel at the top this. Powder funnel by the way will accept a. Regular standard li powder funnel to. Used out of the powder reservoir what. But what we’ll do right now is remove that place to the side, and we’ll take. The powder charging mechanism now your. Your powder charger came with a number of parts but it’s all set up and ready to go the one thing that you want to. Make sure you have on it is this attachment right here which is the quick detaching mechanism if it’s not. Installed on it you’ll do just as i show. Here you may need to remove the arm that. Came with it there’s a tea arm that may. Come with the charging mechanism remove. It by taking the screw off being careful. This spring is under tremendous pressure. Just take that screw off and replace it. With this abbreviated control arm and. Then place that down inside and simply. Tighten it all the way down now once. It’s all the way down and it’s secure. You can tighten it with the black. Knurled ring and you’ll notice that this. Can be this can be swung in any direction it’ll be preferable to have it. Positioned over the turret for most of. Your operations but if you need to make any adjustments you can swing it out of the way and then turn it back again now. At the top of it you’ll notice that does this arm and this arm right here which. Is actuated by the contact of the case. Inside the die as the case comes up inside the die there is a sleeve inside. That pushes up and actuates this control. Arm and that control pivots and then pushes the disk you feed. Discs over this hole and this discharge. Hole is always remaining open so the. Putter simply drops free fall and you. Always want to make sure that you can see this hopper in case you should have. Any obstruction or anything that would prevent powder from freely dropping.

Reloading press so i can finally get it set up it’s pressure-treated redwood studs in. The front here standard redwood 2 by 6. For the rear pieces and the crossbars. And then this top is an inch and a half. Thick piece of oak it was an oak. Tabletop it’s lent its multiple pieces. That are glulam i guess but they’re. They’re pretty sturdy solid made. Together here and like i said it’s an. Inch and a half thick it was a tabletop. Like i said it’s not anymore now it’s top of my bench it is two and a quarter. Feet and depth here cut down from three. Foot width and it is five feet long from. End to end here so sorry i don’t have a. Wider view on my camera but there she is. Figured before i get into mounting my. Press and setting everything up I’d show. You guys what comes inside of the league. Classic turret press kit which seems to. Be about the best value for the dollar. Out there for a full press kit for. Reloading the only thing that’s on this. Bench right now that did not come in the. Kit or I’m sorry that’s missing that did. Come in the kit is the reloading manual. That you get along with this kit so that. Being said this is the box for the press this here of course is the press itself. It’s correct press at auto indexes that turrets popping out right now. It’s got a cast iron base everything. Else seems to be pretty well-made high-quality steel some of its coated. This particular model has a hole in the. Bottom for the spent primer catch now. The other things that come in the box. With the depress are of course small. Pieces in parts including the different. Different parts for loading different. Sized primers for the auto prime or. Safety prime system. It’s nice handle it’s got a nice ball on. The end it does have a little bit of a taper to it so that you can get a little. Bit of extra clearance some people like. To put an extended nob on it that comes out the side we’ll see how it works once. I get it loaded in there and of course here we go. With our tube to catch our primers which. Goes and slips on down here and just. Slips over there and the primers are. Going to fall into there can either take off this bottom part or just take the whole tube back off up here so that’s. All that comes in the press box move. That stuff all over here well it as well. Comes with the instructions miniature. Here to be loaded so it does come with. Both large and small safety prime kits. Framer feeder kids safety primer feed. Kit it comes with both large and small. Primers also comes with the pro auto. Disc powder measure that’s what we need. The riser for there’re instructions for. The powder measure there is the powder measure itself there’s the top that. Holds the powder the base and the discs. There’s four disks in their i will be. Reloading rifle cartridges mainly well. I’ll probably be loading rifle and pistol cartridges but since I’ll be loading rifle cartridges and I’m not. Sure what powders I’ll be using i may be loading some seven six to worsen 308 at. Some point i did purchase separately a. Double disc kit for this powder measure. Which allows you to go up to a much. Larger powder measure or powder drop. For rifle cases so i have that set aside. And I’ll show you that in a minute the. Other thing that comes in here besides. What we’ve seen and the reloading book. Is the safety powder scale here it says. It’s magnetically dampened lifetime accurate safety beam approach to weight being lift it is a beam scale so it’s. Like you used in chemistry class in. High school or anywhere where you had to. Accurately check weights before we. Had our digital scales everywhere so the. Pieces to that or the bar the container. And the base here and of course the. Instructions are here so I’ll set that. Up later and that’s what comes in the. Box like i said for some rifle cases. You’re going to need a double-disc kit. So i believe i have that over here if i. Can get around my motorcycle. I do there’s my double-disc it auto disc. Powder measure so all it is another. Set of four desks and some hardware. Small baggie of hardware so that you can. Run a double dose if you will of powder. And of course i have my different dyes. Over here so this is my two to three. Remington die set comes with a full. Length sizing die seeding die shell. Holder and powder measure if you want to use the gas at it version of measuring. Powder with the scoop as far as i know. It’s only accurate with certain types of powder I’ve been reading the book and it. Says it should be good with most powders but some powders are denser and some are lighter so you know i probably will go. Based upon weight and probably won’t use. The powder measure at all and it also has the factory crimped die which was important to me to have and. Then i separate lea bought this rifle. Charging die you know it’s a powder through charging. Die since the full length sizing die is. Not a powder through die so that’s my. Setup to get started loading five. Up the bottom a stroke your old primer. Drops out that will resize and expand. Your case Push forward to seat your primer. And there you have a completed case size. Prime Now we’ve switched over to our seed dye on our press and adjusted its depth for. The correct cartridge length the next. Step will be to weigh out a proper charge weight of powder we’ll dump that. Into our first case place that case in. The shell holder hold the bullet in the. Case mouth and run it up into your seat die run through the stroke of the press. And now you have completed cartridge properly seated and ready to go the rock. There folks here’s a quick video on basically pimping out your rcbs rock. Cherry supreme version for the most recent version i you know have. Progressive presses i got a 650 i got a 1050 the 1050 i do nine and five. Six I’m keeping the dedicated to the small. Pistol primers + e nice wager that’s the. Reason i got the 1050 for these large pistol primers i got 44 mag mentions do. 45 on the 650 and then i just started. Doing 4570 these little beauties here and it needed a single-stage press for. Low volume production and more or less. As i guess it’s an ad for inland pimp this thing out with all the inline accessories and i got to say it was worth every single penny first i don’t. Like my press hanging off the edge first i can’t even probably do it on this bench because i have a lip because i like to have the handle up high it’s really comfortable it’s almost the presses are set up for so inline has. This basically they’re their stand which. Is the version of the dillon strong mount things rock-solid no complaints. There as i mentioned my other videos though once you start adding things to your benches you need to make. Sure they’re secure so as I’ve done on all four the other press is drilled the top down real tight to reinforce that. The there’s no flex because your little that can lift the top or bend the tops on your benches it’s not high qualities it’s the harbor freight gb bench what does the job one secure additionally you could have a lot of shakes so i always add a piece of metal on the back sewing. On the upstroke or the bench isn’t going. Backwards there they don’t come forward much, but they will go backwards so that a little bit stops everything from rattling off the top of my bench so once. You’ve got secured you struttin here in line fabrication mound they got lots of different options here one was this arm. Here will you let you attach two bins. And it’s got holes for your dies it’s. Got to front size hole dies without the you know the quick quantity system here. With the quick-release or their standard size holes you can fit two bins on the. End and if you’ve got the two bins on. The end then you can really add their. Yeah their injection system which is. Awesome for one stage they get video as. Follows stuff on our website but once if. You get the thing to stay on here it’s actually really great there yep so you. Put a case in gonna have to have it past. Your spring put it in do your thing. Lower it down and it comes right off it’s like that simple this ejection system you will work with. Just the rcbs to set up here you don’t anything special on it but then you’d have to figure out a way to catch your brass so you pretty much. Gonna need this thing to go with the ejection system so that’s quick. And easy they don’t have to take brass off i just feed feed you know. Single state operations go by pretty darn quick additionally the everyone hates the rcbs. Primer ejector system here and personally I’m a fan of system that i can hook a tube up to and so here we go. Hook a tube up to primers land in the collection vessel and you can see I’ve added this type of setup to my other presses makes it simple like that i collect them in my giant canister here. Case from a ship gun okay so all the. Things I’ve added i added this swing out arm over here to the dillon strong mount. Which also you can add obviously to the in lines on mount design here and this. Is handy so buddy i can keep bullets. Tools brass that’s going with getting. Fed in brass it’s getting ejected so. Really comfortable us it has i mention. Here you know they got this handle this ergo hand over psa’s the standard pull stray and i like the roller handles this is a much simpler motion that’s why dillon goes with it versus uh the lever style pull so that’s. A quick overview what I’ve done to this rock chart is my first single stage. Press and like it was definitely worth spending the money to get all these accessories on it makes using it very. More a lot quicker for what it is more. Convenient so i never have to you know. Stop when I’m you know size in 100 rounds no problem boom boom boom is very quick again with this ejection this system here this you know you could live without this setup here i would say you. Could live without and then a primer is up to you if you want to deal with the rcbs thingy or not i don’t even. Personally don’t even had use this thing for putting primers and i used a little rcbs hand thinking it’s much quicker than this silly thing anyway got any. Okay macgyver here coming to you from my. Messy man cave here i got a couple tips. For using rock chucker press the rcbs. Rock trucker press first tip concerns. The handle on the rock sucker now this is an older rock sucker some of the new. Ones i believe have a different kind of handle but if you have the one with the ball on it what you can do is loosen up. The ball lubricates the threads and then. When you’re going to start loading back. The ball off about one and a half two turns and as you work to press you. Notice that the natural position is for. Your natural movement is for your hand to turn if you have the ball a little bit loose you can accommodate that movement and it makes loading a little. But easier give you a few less blisters. If you’re doing a lot of loading the. Other tip concerns the shell holder here. When I’m trying to go fast and try and. Do a lot of loading you got to kind of. Fumble around and find where to get the. Shall into shell holder so solution to. That I’m going to show you so what you. Do to solve that problem is you take a. Washer this is about i think 110,000. Stick washer you want something roughly. About an eighth of an inch and you bore. It out such that it fits right over the. Shall holder the idea being that now you. Have a little table here to let the. She’ll go in easily. You don’t have to fumble around looking. For shell holder so after i bore out the. Washer then put it on here you can see. There’s a small lip here that’s because the shell holder is 120. 24000 thick and the washer is about. 110,000 thick so i have a little lip here so what I’m going to do is I’m. Going to take the dremel and shamp for. This lip a little bit I’m also going to. Sham for these 90-degree edges here to. Make it a little smoother for the cartridge case to slide into the shell holder here so I’m going to take the. Dremel then I’m going to sham for this edge here knock off these two. Corners here. So i put a little relief on these two. Edges right here and sham for these. Corners here let’s see seems to work a. Little better can put them in there. Pretty quick looks like it’s an. Improvement. Okay guys so that’s a couple tips to hopefully make your reloading a little bit easier be careful you’re reloading. Watch out for double charges and make. Sure you don’t put your eye out.
Hey guys its convoluting special welcome. Back to the channel preciate stopping by if you follow me on. This rim you’ve seen a preview or a snap. It was a while back but you know a. Couple months ago but you were saying. That he saw that i was getting into a little bit of getting started gathering. Gear for reloading i finally got around. To doing a video to show you what you guys I’ll show you guys what i got i. Went with the rcbs rock sucker supreme. Master reloading kit has a starting. Point gives you a single stage you know. Rcbs rock chuck or press if you asked. Clover tack over at one gun channels. He’s suggest going with a i want to say. It’s dillon but i can’t be you know I’m not sure progressive that you can take a. Part of the mechanism out so you can use. It as a single stage for learning then you can upgrade it later myself personally this is when oh i want an older version. But this is what i learn to reload on so. That’s what I’m gonna continue with I’m not so worried about speed because i find it to be rather relaxing to reload. So I’ve just decided to say with the. Single stage but i do currently load for. Rifle well i learned originally load on. My 32 winchester special rifle which is. A neck depth 3030 old-school bottleneck. Rimmed cartridge which i have video on. On the channel if you want to take a closer look you know what you know you. Can look up the video on any why it’s like to the very first video we ever posted anyhow the rest of the kit. It came with the press the uni flow. Powder measures the bracket to hold the. Powder measure two tips that i would. Thread into the pot into the bottom of the measure that are designed to have. Certain size case next fit inside it now one smaller one larger so that way you. Can dispense directly into casing a beam. Balance for weighing out the charges a. Reloading block brass catcher I’m sorry. Primer catcher not brass a multi size. Allen wrench a pad for the you put your. Case lube which is this here on here so. You’d roll your case back north on here lubricate him reduce the chance of getting stuck a hand primer and the tray. To go along with it which i have tried. On a couple of my 32 casings and it. Works fine now it was to my. Understanding that was the only option i had without buying some additional equipment so i could know what do my primers on the press itself opening it. Up today i come across a reloading you. Now a primer arm that when i look more. Closely i realize I’ll be able to do my priming on my pressed which is again the. Way i learned to do it so that’s the way I’ll just continue doing it I’m not to say it’s the best it’s just what i know. There is some assembly required I’m not yet familiar with what. Everything is perfect example i have no. Idea what these pieces are I’ll have to look that up on the manual you guys have seen some of this stuff not long after i saw it for the first time is the case. Trim and chamber tool. More parts for the reloading arm the one. The one part of the set. Besides the dyes which are caliber. Specific the one part of the set that. This doesn’t come with that i still need. To get that i wish it would have come with its a powder trickle if you have a. Powder that throws consistently I’ve. Been told you can set up the measure. Once you’ve confirmed that’s correct and. Then you can just throw directly into your casings hence the adapter tools i was always. Taught to throw the powder light into. The pan here on the balance because i. Actually learned on a beam balance then. You set the hill on a powder and set the now you know I’ve powder filled pan back. On and run a trickle charger to bring it. Up to the hell about what it needs to be so that trickle charger is the one piece. I don’t have yet and then use a funnel. To put it into the casings. Themselves my apologies and this funnel. Is supposed to be good for it and from 22 calibers all up to 50 calibers I’m I’m. Thinking about getting myself a drop. Tube at some point so i can use that for. Certain cartridges. Other than that when i introduced the. Calibers that i have the equipment to the load I’ll show you what I’ll show. You what dies i got and what powder. Choices and this kind of stuff up made i will not be providing any you know. Reloading recipes that’ll be something. You’ll need to look up in a you know a. Sammie spec manual which i actually have. To have i forgot to grab those one thing. Ok sorry about that. Here is a nosler reloading guide 8 this. Actually came with the pressed the other. One i got is the barnes number 4 you. No i number 4 being that I’m in california I’ll be required to hunt meat. You know medium game with non lead and i. Do shoot you know i am going to be hunting medium game they also black-tailed deer i have you know barnes. Is most likely I’m probably gonna go with being that it’s one of the more accessible or not the cheapest but one. Of the more commonly available slugs for non lead so i picked up one of their. Manuals i do plan on picking up a spear. Manual as well because it’s not a bad. Idea when you’re getting ready to load a. New manual that’s alright a new load for. A new cartridge or just changing loads or whatnot you’re gonna want to. Reference a couple of different manuals some are written more conservatively some are written less conservative and. So you’ll get even for the same slug. Some powder you’ll get different charge. Recommendations so being able to. Cross-reference between a couple different manuals is a good idea so that. Way you can to feel out what a good starting load. Would be because you don’t want to load it on too hot because you when you fire. A gun it is a controlled explosion the. Last thing you need to do is loading a. Lot hand load something incorrectly and. Turn that controlled explosion into a non controlled and have a pipe bomb going off in your face there are a lot. Of people over on gunn channels that. Now a far sight more than i do and. There i actually asked them questions as i get a chance clover tack is one of them i don’t have. The i don’t have logos form but. Seahorse is another one and the crazy. Scotsman has suggested him as one of the things he suggested timox he loads is actually to look up the re loaders. Hey what’s up everybody. Brando mcwillie here doing another reloading video seems that people have. Been really enjoying those so i continue. To make a little bit more first and foremost today the carry weapon is the. Kel-tec p38 ii alright kind of like to. Show people they haven’t seen my stuff before i kind of like to show the different weapons that i carry on a daily basis because i think it’s kind of cool to see if people that do the. Reviews actually carry the stuff they’re reviewing so i usually do and i carry a. Variety it just depends on what I’m wearing that day and so forth but i. Thought ways thought that was kind of cool so today i wanted to talk about the. Actual reloader itself I’ve done a couple of videos on how to reload but i. Never actually went into detail about the my actual press and i kind of wanted. To show that today and kind of show what it came with and what yet so I’m going. To take the camera off the tripod so i can move in a little bit closer and just start taking a look at the press itself. Now show you the box that it comes in here I’m not going to take it out but this is the hardy lock and load classic loader it is not to kit okay i didn’t buy the. Kit i bought the actual reloader by itself and it actually comes with the. Loader itself and you actually have to. Take the handle and actually adjust that. And put that on that’s not together but everything else is put together for you so you don’t have to do any assembly and. If my memory serves me correct i did get. Three of the lock and load die bushings. That came with the loader as well okay. So i didn’t have to go out and have that expense for that first time a. Couple of other things that it comes with is the tray that is used to hold. The spent primers okay and that basically just locks on here okay it. Also comes in with a primer tool or primer feeder and two primer i guess you. Call them size sizes or something like that i don’t know what you call it but basically i have it set up now for the small primer size primer and this. The one that you would use for the large primers and basically it just unscrews in screws in here but the press itself. Does not come with any mounting hardware i purchased that myself and basically as. You can see here i have like just a basic bench that i had built and it just. Bolts directly on to that bench with some wood screws or wood bolts basically. And used a large washer to hold that in. Place looking at it from this side not. Much difference here you have more access to the bolt but it does a pretty good job and one thing that i recommend is as you load make sure you have a. Quality dent setup as even this one. Which is set up pretty good i think still wobbles a little bit as i pull. That lever arm down but that’s not a big deal it still works fine for me the primer. Feeder basically if you can see and. There is a little notch and this feeds. Directly under there and so when i go to. Raise the or lower the ram there the. Primer will be pushed into the casing. Okay so kind of cool so this is what you. Get with it I’m pretty pleased with it. Now if you’ve seen my other videos you know that i like them a lot and i kind of give you an example of how the lock and load system works and I’ll do that with some nine-millimeter dies I’m going. To put this back into the tripod so i can work there so basically here are. Some poor nate’d eyes these are 9 millimeters and if you look at the die. Set the block and load bushings are. Already set so i basically have a set of bushings for each one of my dies kind of. Expensive that’s the downfall but it makes it easier for me to load my. Ammunition so i like it so I’m not worried too much about it but basically in order to get that to work is. Basically is basically dropped that in and twist and. It’s locked in place and i don’t have to worry about screwing it down and making adjustments and so forth now i know that. With a traditional set of dies you can. You know have your retaining not here. Locked into place so once you get it. Flush with the press you don’t have to worry about it anymore but still to me this is just so much easier and i just like the way that i. Have it set up so no complaints there at all very easy if you don’t want to go. Through the expense of ordering the expensive die bushings you can simply. Just put one in there and then leave it locked in place and every time you want to change out a set of dies you can just unscrew it just like you would in a traditional press so you have the option to do both which i think is kind of nice. Another thing that i am probably i say. That I’m going to get but i haven’t yet is there’s a tool here that you can. Actually feed primers down into this. Area and it would come straight down and feed new primers here so every time i raise the ram and lower the ram the new. Primer will be fed in i just haven’t done that yet there’s a spot here for it but i just haven’t done it all in all. I’m haven’t had any problems with this press at all the only thing that i have had happened this is probably just out of. Wear in use is this pin sometimes will. Pop out and i just have to push it back. In with my hand it’s just a retaining pin it’s not a big deal I’ve never even greased this sucker up you can see that it does get dirty you kind of do that when my camera is not that good does get turi dirty dukes working with us spent primers and the dirty brass and all that kind of stuff but it’s been great i. Haven’t had any hiccups with it at all no problems with it and it was a bit of. Press that I’d highly suggest you know it made it turned me on to other hornady stuff if you look i have a lot of. Hornady dies a lot of horny equipment in. My reloading get up and ability kind of. Happened of this press you know i was going to. Get this press or the rcbs rock crusher i found out that the rcbs rock crusher. Was cast in china and for some reason. That just did not do it for me so i. Decided to get the hornady no one knowing that it was made 100% in the states so that was a big thing for me as. Well so anyway a basic video showing you. The press for those of you who are looking to get one you know i suggested i like it my next. Press would probably be the hornady auto progressive press and I’ve been loading. A lot of handguns ammunition and i would. Like to have the ability to load a little bit faster now i can load about. 50 rounds in about 45 minutes on this press right here and i can shoot 50 rounds in about 2 seconds so you do the math there so an auto progressive press would be nice, but they’re really expensive and i want to make sure that i like this before i started investing a lot of money into reloading i. Found out that i do enjoy it’s not something i do every day but it’s something that i do maybe once or twice. A month maybe look more net maybe like. Hello youtube how’s it going well the. Good news is my bullets here that i had. Left out there after i had cast him for like four or five months ira. I got him quoted they seem to be sizing. Just fine without with any great problems so on fact that i thought i’d. Do a little quick review on my new press i bought i bought louis replace miley. Single stage press which would give me. Good service but it was a little weak. And move around when i had some really. Big sizing to do or i went it really. When i was using the rcbs saul short. Dies on my 300 blackout site really puts. A pressure against it that lee hwon used to just just move around on me and flex. So i built this and we get some of this. Stuff i breed in my room i lubricate. That with a case lube and it gets a little bigger top just makes everything work better anyways i bought me this hornady hecka had it. For two months finally the first time i. Got to use it just works so good i mean. You can tell now that got it how thick. The steel bars are on it compared to. What i had course it’s the different than what you’re paying works really. Good i might even try reloading some. Rifle ammo on it just for the hell of it i love my hand dillon 650 but we do a. Little short quick run it’s not all bad. To play with a single state i’ve bought me a powder scale that’s. Automatic which is nice you just type in what you want and it just spits it out so that’s cool i use this mostly for. Resizing bullets and i also use it for. Like i say prep work on brass i’m i. Write the brass i d prime it sometimes. I’d be priming it by hand if i’m bored but i can deprive it on here and case. Size it cuz you got a little bit right and i’ll actually do cuz my brass doesn’t get filthy my brass just drops. On my cement and so i can actually do. The process it without you know getting. The dyes all filthy so i’ll go ahead a. Little bit do all that get it resized. Trim it if i need to and then i’ll go. Ahead and run it through my wet tumbler. To clean it it comes out really nice and clean and then i’ll run it through is. That dylan loudoun i don’t have to use a resizing die of course which is ok on. The rifle but it works. The only problem i’ve ever had and this is not a problem the deal and that’s the problem with how clean the brass comes. Out of the the wash is sometimes it will. Catch on the case expander cuz the brass. Is so clean on the inside even you’ll. Have to push it and it’ll pop a little bit i’ll actually looby outside of that with some dry lube i got dylan’s answer. To it is you know just humbly clean your brass with media and not wet clean well. I don’t like all that stuff because. Quite frankly it gives me coughing fits to use that stuff and i don’t want to do it and the brass is is clean and it takes a long time don’t want to let you wet clean so. That’s what i do when i put up with it sticking now on that on there yeah this. Is the first actual reloading thing i’ve gotten to do in my room it’s all been cleaned really room flat home was thinking i’d have to recast this stuff because it got so hard but good it’s. Double sizes okay quick this press is a lot more power than the other one does i barely have to give it any effort at all we’re on the other one i’d have to. Stand up sometimes hold it and just this. Is this easy of course 357 aren’t bad. Anyway because i don’t sighs in the 356. Exercise in the 357 works really nice. Pick me up a 380 a little american ruger. American rifle threaded the barrel so. I’ll be able to use my silence on if i ever get my paperwork. So anyways boy when i was reading i was. Up north on my cabin and i’ve had a bottle of it eight or a five pound oh it. That red cloud engine fire 10 rounds down lorraine i got to build me up on a batch of you of spent brass so i can. Play with it again but at the wait a while though. So i got so i bought some a little bit. Of manufactured ammo one box for the 383. Excuse me and i shot four rounds through. It i’d like to shoot a little bit of. Factory first before i start throwing my hand loads in it that way i got problems. With i know the guns working before i started throwing in another variable which is my crazy stuff maybe this is. There’s a load for time on the website hodgkins 308 on 150 grain bullet well. Mine 153 great yes i’m gonna try those. Same i’m walking away if i’m losing your. Audio it’s the same same size bullet and. Look 300 black but you know there was that trail boss i bought that hell a year or two ago and just stuck it on the shelf forgot about her fact i even. Bought that it had a local gun store i. Didn’t buy it online here’s what i paid for it but i looked at it a while that’s a lot of money for my five-pound sorry what i did is i tend to save it but you. Don’t use very much gets so big i’m kind of excited i wanna play with that. I brought my new gun oakland tactical. They’re really nice people to deal with they got a nice website went down there. Drove down there from where i live 20 flint and saginaw terrific people and wanted to buy some. Primers they want to pay a hazmat fee. Just for a some box of primer so i’ve never seen these before i did a little. Searching on the internet for him didn’t. Find a heck of a lot a few people using them some people liked them some people didn’t so they were cheap enough god. I mean retail that’s what they were if. They’re any good i might have to give them a call see if they have a bunch and go down and pick up like four or five boxes but i only bought 500 brass for. The 308 and i’m going to share him half with my son-in-law as he’s i bought a. 308 weird they are type design at an. Auction i got it it was a little screwed up that. Wasn’t happy with it i just says you know i’d rather have a. Ball to action so tony he was like huh. Buy it from you so i gave a little deal and i took a little hit on up in that very big he would have paid me what i offered for it i want to get my deal so. I sold that to him and i bought me a bolt action truth is i got the ars you. Know why yeah but they are in case you have to use a bit i really just to play i like shooting bull action i really like shooting a single-sized those are fun but bold actions are probably my second favorite. So I’m going to show you just a deeper. These cases just run in just a couple. Times not too much okay so after. Trimming them it was really easy to do. Then this with this little tool this is. A tool put out by lyman now it’s got a. Pocket cleaner here that are clean the. The primer pockets and so i just run that just a few times in and it’s got. It’s got different sizes this thing actually has you can swap it out for. Small primers whatnot but then I’ve got. The you swap it out and now this will. Deeper the outside of the casings. You know it doesn’t take but just a. Couple times and that’s it that’s all you want to do so what that does that. Creates a piece of brass that is now. Sized and has its bendy bird so that’s. Actually ready to start the reloading process now before i get too far like. Said already had the primers knocked out of that one so the first step of this process on this kit is that. You’re gonna have to go have to use. This kit that knock that prime around it’s actually and the easiest things to. Do and it’s also pretty fun so that was. It okays so there’s my primer. I’ve got a uh so now it’s got another. Chasing this usually ready what i do. When I’m using this i usually just d prime all my casings and then. When i start acting the actual reloading. I’ll have them I’ll have them already so. Well I’ve gotten this close I’ll just go ahead and. I’ll go ahead and put that in there and. Just sighs this case and it’s super okay see that ones that need doesn’t need. Trimming but it really wasn’t hard to do. What disallowed me in today now is dad i. Don’t even have to I’m not even worried about measuring what i do like about the. Lead loader is that they do come. With a city with a pretty decent set of. Directions because the parts are in this. Just don’t look like standard they just. Really don’t look like standards reloading parts so what kind of no one. Think that i have seen what i really. Have seen that people don’t do and make. This easier is that for some reason. People don’t reload there when they’re. Using these kits they’re not they’re not. Lubing the cases now this is just next. Sizing and but i don’t understand why. Why they’re not why they’re not doing i. Guess they’re just kind of saying well you don’t have to but there’s there’s a. Step the way this thing actually works is your we’re done actually what’s going. You do this. So the way this thing actually works is that you drive this case drive it down. Into this cylinder. So the way this thing works is your way. This thing works is you drive this case down into the cylinder but i always use some type of case loop because once you. Do that so all right, so we’re gonna go ahead and let’s do that all right that. Was pretty easy on the next step in the. Process is your pop the priming this thing and actually i used the top of my. Mic a sleeve to hold my primers now. What you’re gonna do is you’re gonna flip this over and this thing. Actually has its spring-loaded that’s holding this primer and for some reason. People have issue with this and they say. They can’t you know when i see videos, and they’re like well you know i this doesn’t work for me and I’m not able to do this i think it’s because they’re not looping their cases because what you’re. Gonna do is that you’re gonna drive this out you’re gonna drive it down on top of. This primer that i have sitting its you. Now the bottom you know the bottom side is facing up so it’s gonna be I’m loading it into this cartridge now. So what i notice is that it’s its very. Solid at first but as i keep driving it. I’m gonna notice that what i just did i just felt it that it gets it actually. Gets softer and what’s happened is when i drive this shell out it starts hitting that spring-loaded bottom that’s on this other thing and so what I’ve got now. What i have now is i have a case that. Has now been primed and the primer is. It’s good and flush good and flush with. It with the casein but it’s I’m gonna go. Ahead and I’m gonna do that again because it’s i think that’s where people. Have trouble and it’s really not that. Hard you just you learn to just feel it. Okay so i just sized it by knocking it. In their okay and then we’re gonna do. We’re gonna flip this over on top of this primer all right when i start. Driving this thing out my casing is. Right now it’s stuck inside this cylinder so it’s gonna be very solid but. Once it starts moving and once it hits the this base that has a spring load on it where this primer is it’s gonna get. Soft and you’re gonna feel that that spring tension is in your driver so all. Right let’s started moving i can feel okay i mean and i can hear i can. Actually hear the difference the sound changes there’s three different sounds that it goes through so it’s solid when. It’s stuck in then it starts moving then. The sound mellows out and then when it starts hitting the bottom of this i miss because this thing has a it has a hard. Bottom on it but it’s the this ring is spring tensioned whenever starts hitting. The bottom of that and what’s pushing your primary is when it starts sounding solid again so there we go we’ve got. Another one that’s the primers you know ready to go so i think the reason people. Have trouble is that they’re not they’re. Not leaving their cases so maybe if they. Did that, and they wouldn’t have that problem but it’s pretty simple I’ll go. Ahead I’ll do another i don’t know if you could hear that but. There’s three different sounds that just what just happened right there and you. Can just feel it you can feel i mean after you dude you know just a few i say. By the time you do ten you’ll feel. Like a pro with that because it’s you can hear it’s pretty actually pretty simple and one thing i like about these lis loaders you know they’ve been out. Here too long getting trashed in the powder if they come with these little. Measuring scoops now one thing that i do. Differently the weight then know the way. This is designed is that actually you. Would leave this in the tube like per. The instructions you would leave this in the tube and what you do you’d switch out the bases so you would say okay I’m done with this base and you’re gonna go to this base that has a hole in it so you don’t have any issues with you’ll. Have any issues of like accidentally firing off the primer so the case. Actually sits in there and you would slide this over the top no way this is designed is that you can take your scoop. Of powder and you can dump it in here and it’s cut it kind of creates like. A phone on it let’s go on down in your case the reason i don’t do that is. Because with the cast bullets i use i. Use like petroleum jelly to lubricate these bullets and it gets inside of here. And what happens when i pour the powder in there the powder wants to stick to you know all the lubrication that winds up sticking inside of here so i actually do a little bit different you know and you find that everybody’s kind of got their own little techniques how to do that but that’s the reason i. Do mine a little different but what i do i just do it like this and i got a funnel got a funnel here so just show. You pretty simple one thing to have accuracy you have to. Have consistency so when it comes to the. Powder what i did i take this car that this is a car that comes with it now one. Think about these cards is that it shows you the bullet weight and then the. Powder options and it gives you like an estimated velocity on these cards so but. I actually at this point in time all right you know one I’m going to use and i just use the card to level off the. Casing there we go all right we’re ready. To go to that one leave that there and. I’ll go ahead and let’s learn it let’s. Go ahead and load this bad boy up. So one thing knows okay so now that I’ve. Got this things this thing is hot and this thing’s got a new primer you switch the basis that’s the. Instructions go over that so if you. Follow the instructions you won’t go wrong with that now. I use the petroleum jelly it’s cheap. Works good i don’t have any issues with. It all you’re gonna do drop that down in. There it slides down and pretty easily now I’m gonna show you’re gonna go. Back to the original case that the base. That you used it were to set the primers and you’re gonna use this side of it and this is what’s actually going to seat your bullet and so what you’re going to do you’re gonna sit this on top of there and you’re gonna drive it down until it. Hits the top of this collar now what’s. Important to talk about is that there. Has to be you know there’s no adjustment. Made into this the adjustment is made. Into this thing there’s a lot and you. Now just there’s a lock not hit or like a lock washer and i would call that a lock nut but what you can do you can. Screw it up you basically you screw this. Think out and when you drive it down. What that does it allow you to seat the bullet and you want to work your way. Down until you get to the right. Depth now the reason it’s so important. To have your cases all trim the. Same and that’s what you know this. Case trimmer works good is that if you. Have a case that is longer and then you had a case that was shorter and you set your adjustment to the shorter case when. You go to your longer case and you put it in there and you beat it down your bullets gonna be set deeper into that casing so that’s why it’s good that you. Really want to have everything really uniform so let’s go ahead and I’m just gonna go. With the pre adjustment that i had on it and let’s see how that does folks. That’s it just listen to the sound. Oh yeah that’s pretty good okay so we. Have 45 70 now this has no crimp on it. Let me show you if you want to put a crimp on it no i know what i just. Had this thing on here like this if i. Want to put a crimp on it flip it over and the crimp the only thing about this. The crimp is the only thing that’s conda. Practice the crimp i learned you just. Kind of got to put some force into it so what we’re gonna do here. Let’s check the overall maximum overall. Length is two point five zero so. We’ll check our overall length here and. If anybody ever wants me to do a video on how to use these things I’d be happy. To do that — okay so it’s two point five. Five zero so what I’ve got I’ve got two. One two three four five and I’m at. Thirty 33 so really what I’m at is two. Point five three that’s what I’m. At two point five three so I’m. Good I’m below the hope the maximum. Length of two point five zero so. We’re good with that so that was real. Simple didn’t take long it’s simple to. You know really get into swab recommend these kits because it takes you from. Zero to actually reloading in the. Shortest the shortest route so i hope this. Helped this video kind of changed your. Mind about reloading i hope it i hope it. Convinces you that you can do it and you don’t have to spend a hundred dollars you know hundreds of dollars to start doing it this is that’s one that I’ve loaded. You know alerted that in the past but. Yeah like i said it was this was a this was a. Stepping stone for me you know it was somewhere that i started and you. Now and I’ve moved on since then but you know the only reason i would say that I’ve moved on is because the lee is limited in. The calibers that they make these. In now so if you’re just gonna reload. Basic calibers i mean that’s that’s actually it’s decently round I’ve been shooting these things a hundred yards I’m real pleased with them in fact i mean for forty-five seventy this is the only thing that I’m using to reload. Okay guys if you want to see how easy it. Is to change this turret on a lyman 8. Station turret press hang on and we’ll. Show you how Okay it’s a real simple job I’m going to. Show you how to change the turret and set up my 308 dies there’s a couple ways. To do this i think the intended way of course i. Don’t read the manual like everybody else there’s a hole in this not on the. Top of the turret you stick the handle in here and then all you do is to turn a. Little bit spin the not grayed out i actually don’t like doing that the. Threads are really longer than not well. It’s a bolt actually so i do it. Differently i just take my little impact. Driver here put the socket on the top of. The knife bend it off it’s way faster. Way easier okay now there is a washer on. The top that makes it all work because. There’s a there’s a spacer there’s a. Bushing in the middle of the turret to. Keep it so the turret can spin but yet the bolt can be tight when you get it. You get the bushing and you get the turret but you don’t get the handle and the not even though the pitcher makes it look like you do now also there’s a little ball bearing right. Here that your detent don’t don’t lose that it’ll fall right. Out of there and don’t ask me how i know. So how to do is you set this on here. Line up the hole good turn nut your bolt. Started run it down you’re all set it’s. Tight it’s all done and it’s still turned. Because of that bushing so put the. Handle back in inside where we want i like to start and. Handle out of the way so the first one I’m going to put in now this is a lien. Excising die i don’t use that very often. But I’ll keep it here so i don’t you know keep it with the rest of the 3:08 stuff i keep all my dies together that’s. Why the other ones full there’s actually only two calibers in that 6.5 and 223. Are the only two that’s in that but i got a lot of those so then this is my. Actual lyman full-length resizing die i. Use all different kinds of days i have. Reading and i have lee and then this. Line and set now you put your handle all the way up turn this down till it. Touches i like a little cam over because. This press will do it so i usually turn into the extra quarter. Turn or so and then maybe a little more. Then that there and tighten it down and. You tighten the setscrew if you want now. I have some cam over make sure get. My full length sizing this is your cedar. Die move that into position and i screw. That down but what i do with this is i. Take a case and i put a case in there. And then i run that all the way up in. Then i turn this die down until it touches the case. There it’s touching then I’ll back it. Out of turn because i don’t want it to. Crimp i don’t use a crimp for my bolt. Guns so that’s tighten that down and then you. Won’t be definitely won’t hit and crimp your case now and you have plenty of. Adjustment with your cedar stem to get. That where it needs to be I’m not gonna seat any bullets today but i will I’ll run one through my sizer guy just. To show you i feel okay lube on it very. Little too much and you’ll bend the shoulders too little and you’ll stick. The case so it’s kind of fine line. There push that in out and you’re all. Done now if you want drop it in a case. Gauge drops right in it’s all good it’s all full length your size that dice setup so if you have any questions ask. Then in the comments and like i said. The hornady lock and load auto progressive press or ap for short it’s a. Fully functional five station progressive press that gives you one loaded round with each pull of the handle today we’re going to go through step by step how to set it up so stay. Tuned let’s get started when you get your horn. Indy lock and load comes in this nice big box fully packed from the factory impervious to shippers abuse and what. You want to do is slide off the cover get it right and start taking out the. Goodies there’s a lot of packing in here. Take your time try not to lose anything. Here’s the actual press and it’s a. Beauty along with that you have some. Other goodies in here there’s our powder. Measure and priming tools here’s some. Powder measure dye our lock and load. Bushings there and a bracket for our bin. There’s our ammo bin and it has a drum. For our powder measure inside yes when I’m setting one of these up i do read the manual it’s essential so. Now that we got everything out we can get started the first thing we have to do is bolt the press to the bench and to. Do that I’m gonna have to drill some new holes in this bench. Okay now that we got the holes drilled we can go ahead and mount dress up and. For this hornady recommends five. Sixteenth inch bolts with a washer on. Then like I’ve got here the length will vary depending on how thick your bench top is I’m using four inch bolts here. They seem to do the trick for me and get. A bolt in there tighten them up as you. Normally would like any other tool of ice or something you tighten down doesn’t have to be super tight you just don’t want this thing moving around and there we go that’s plenty tight this thing is solid as a rock you can pick the bench up with it if i could pick the bench up alright. Now we’ve got to install our handles get that on there so now we want to secure. The handle by tightening a slop net with a crescent wrench hand the basic press. Is mounted and ready to go so let’s move on to the next step which is mounting the shell plate and before. We do that heatedly wants a little bit. Of grease on the base of the press here there’re little indentations here for the. Ball detent, so we’re going to put a little grease in those and that’ll make. The thing ride a lot smoother you want to take this keyed area right here and. Make sure it fits the corresponding stud. On the press nice and easy. At that point it’s just a matter of. Putting the screw in place it doesn’t. Have to be super snug and i lift up on. The handle creates a little friction on it lift it up. Look there we’ve got a ratcheting press it is working hornady sets these up at. The factory to ratchet properly if you. Find that it is not coming all the way around to each station you need to. Consult your manual to find out how to retirement or call it one of the tech they can walk you through it if they have to so the next thing we want to do. Is to put the shell retainer spring and. This is a spring right here it’s a nice coil loop around the shell plate. And it goes in place pretty easily but. You have to cycle the press a couple times to get it to drop in and there it. Goes now it’s running in its groove here and it’ll hold the shells in there. Stations all the way around at each station check and make sure everything’s. Advancing properly each time you raise. The ram it should be coming up on each. Station on each die station here there should be a shell holder opposite it this one is working properly horn d sets these up at the factory and. If it’s not indexing properly there are. Instructions in your manual on how to fix that or you can call workaday’s tech support they can walk you through it also next we want to install the priming mechanism now this came equipped ready to go for large primers, and we’re loading 45 acp, but we’ve decided to take. It apart so you could watch how it’s put together first thing to do is take the. Priming ram here and hook it up to this. Little spring right here which is hard to reach their district up this puts the. Tension on your priming. And then we place the cover on top that. Retains it. Now before you install yours be sure those parts are clean and oil-free no. Debris no rough edges just double-check. It makes sure the primers have a nice easy path to follow. Because progressive one of the most. Important things you can do is make sure that your primers flow properly okay as. You see it moves back and forth there it gets cam to back and it goes forward. Lines up here and you’ve got a primer in place once there’s one to feed so now. That we have that in place we can screw the primer shield in place and that’s. Very easy that just screws on those outer threads down there next we want to. Put the inner tube in and there are two. Of these so make sure the one you get. Corresponds to the primers you want to use to see one’s got a large hole one’s got a small hole we’re going to use large primers, so we’ll go with this one. There’s a slight rebate here and you. Want to put that down so it’ll go into. Its recess inside there and nest properly don’t go once you have that in. Place this little guide goes on top that. Centers everything up so now when you go. To feed primers from one of these. Centers it up for you pull the pin primers fall down you’re fully charged so that’s the priming. Setup everything’s running smoothly so. Far so good next we take our lock and. Load powder measure and being careful. Not to lose any of these levers or anything on the way we’re going to put it into the die, and we’re going to take. The activation arm slip it over its locking not here tighten that in place. Make sure it’s moving freely now this. Device is called the powder stop or a powder measure stop excuse me and what. This does is limits the travel this powder measure so when your case hits the top of the die and hits that expansion point all the pressure is going to be borne by this rather than your mechanism and your powder measure pretty good idea it’s all taken up here. All the stress so you don’t have to worry, so we’ll put this in place over. The two spring points, and we’ll put our spring first on the top then on the. Bottom make sure we have good positive. Return pressure that way when the case backs out this comes down gets another. Load of powder you don’t want your powder measure to jam up now we get to. Test it takes a case loading station one. Index it over station — there goes out. Powder measure now we’re not feeling a. Lot of resistance at the end and this isn’t bottoming out, so we’re going to need a little more adjustment here I’m going to tweak that up. There’s a little bit let’s try a bullet in there just a little more just need a. Little more there. Let’s see what it looks like. They’re bullet stays in the case it’s. Gonna stay oriented for the next seating step, so we’ll call that good pablor. Measures ready to go we can lock down our adjustments and proceed now that. We’ve got the powder measure installed we can install the hornady powder cop and what this does is gives you a visual verification of the powder level in the. Case it’ll show you if the case is properly charged it will also show you if there’s a double charge in there which can be disastrous so this is a great idea when you’re loading on a progressive now to install it again we. Want to put our lock and load bushing on their put it into the press it’ll be on. Station three right next to your powder. Measure takes a prime case run it through. One. Charge it with powder comes over now the. Powder calm and you can see the white. O-ring just shows above here we can. Adjust this up just slightly so it with a proper powder charge and I’ve weighed this already so i know I’m throwing the proper charge it comes up about flush that way every time you put the handle. Down your eyeball will fall on this. While ring and see that it’s at the right level so let’s take the same case. Leave the powder in it and run it through and give it a double charge and see what it looks like there’s the. Second charge and there the o ring comes. Up twice as far now it’s not a huge difference but now there’s a gap between the die and the o ring so your eye should pick that up instantly it’s right under your nose it’s out their right in front of you on purpose so when you see that you know you’ve got a double charge case next. We’re going to install the bullets eating die went ahead and installed the. Sizer die in station one that’s pretty easy nothing to figure out there the. Cedar die takes a little bit of finagling depending on what unit you. Have now we’re using the horn of the die here which crimps and seats the bullet. To proper depth in one motion it’s got two adjustment rings for the bullet depth and for the crimp I’ve got a bushing on it, so we’re going to lock and load that in place and what we’ll do is. Take an empty case, and we’ll just run it through without powder or without primer. We’re just making a dummy test case I’ve. Looked in the horn of the manual here our overall length is one point two. Thirty one inch two hundred thirty thousand for the 230 grain xtp bullet. We’re going to load, so we’ll go up the. Station one size it normally we would. Prime right here charge with powder. Next station is the powder cop nothing. Happening because we have no powder station for take an x t p bullet. Goes up seats the bullet crimps there it. Is next station if you wanted to crimp. Separately there’s still one open station so if you want to add a taper crimp die to that you could and just sat with this one some people like to do that especially with cast bullets where you might shave a little red off them but this particular unit works fine just as is so you’d go up to the next. Station and then it would eject the. Shell and you’re done and from then on. Each pull the handle will give you one. Loaded round that’s what the aap is all about okay with the press all set up and. Iron press kit to come off the line and to go out to the public and I’m going to bring you the very first complete and. Comprehensive video series on this. Totally new press system it’s pretty cool it’s the most rigid press in its class it’s got a totally new priming system it’s got a bunch of new features that i can’t wait to see so in this. Video let’s do the unboxing let’s see everything in the kit and then in subsequent videos we’re going to use it for loading for the ruger precision. Rifle we got 243 we got 6.5 creed moor a. Bunch of cool stuff coming up so let’s get into the box ok so let’s see what. We’ve got in the box here alright that. Is off a little protective sheet there. So we’ve got the 2016 hornady product. Catalog here and that has the owner’s. Manual tucked inside it looks like we. Got some stickers always ok can use some extra stickers for the toolbox ok so. We’ve got the typical setup instructions. Etc new catalog i think I’ve already. Gotten that one in the mail so that’s an extra maybe I’ll give that to a friend look at this cool tin sign here that’s. Pretty neat so that’s definitely going. To go up somewhere alright now into the guts ok, so we’ve. Got the hornady looks like 0 to 6 inch. Digital caliper that i can definitely. Put to use it looks like it has a larger it has a larger display than the other. Cheap digital calipers that i. To accumulate have okay some packing. Material here we’ve got the quantity. Handbook of cartridge reloading ninth edition this is the latest version so. That’s going to come in handy mine is from 2007 been waiting to upgrade we’ve. Got the lock and load bullet comparator. And basic insert set this is really nice. I showed this in the 6.5 creed moor full. Progressive reloading video this is. Where you can measure off the ogive of the bullet which is that critical curve on the bullet rather than just the overall length or the tip of the bullet if you have hollow points sometimes the. Tips can vary quite a bit the plastic. Tipped bullets don’t usually come very that much but definitely it’s something that you’re going to want okay so hornady unique case lube this is. New i haven’t tried this yet either that’s going to be fun for rifle of course you need that we’ve got a powder funnel so this is going to be what we’re. Going to use when we’re charging cases. In some cases when we’re pouring powder back in sort of thing look at this. Hornady lock and load bench scale so this is another product that i haven’t tried it looks like 1500 grain capacity. An electronic scale of course is. Something that’s going to be a mainstay something that’s kind of like required equipment let’s get the press out that’s what you all probably want to see the most look at that wow it is definitely. Iron there’s no question about that you. Can see here the ambidextrous mounting. Holes for the press handle that’s cool. So into that a little bit more looks. Like i have some parts here that have. Settled a little bit in shipment. Assuming that needs to be screwed back in their very nice okay. And got a couple more things here okay. More protective packing materials okay. So this is the stand that goes up on the top of i remember correctly already watch the product video on this one some priming parts okay we’ve got. Some lock and load bushings looks like a. Pack of three that’s going to get you set up for your basic loading operations. With most die set-ups that you’re going to need a little tray interesting okay. And then we’ve got some tools here it. Looks like we’ve got the case neck inside and outside chamber tools there. We go neck brushes primer cleaners and. Then the eye dod chamber tools I’ll open. Up that in a moment another little tray so this is the. Bin rack that mounts to the top of the. Press if i remember correctly okay so. I’m going to move some of this stuff back here because we’ve got one more. Kind of big thing to take a look at and. That is going to be the powder measure. Unless there’s something else that I’m. Not expecting i always like surprises okay alright so what do we have here oh. Yes some more priming system parts in. The handle of course okay. So that’s a powder measure mount if i remember quickly we’ve got the press. Handle this looks the same as the one that you get with the hornady lock and. Load ap and we’ve got priming system. Parts the explosion shield god-forbid. More as a precaution than anything else. That goes around the outside of the drop tube we have a large and small drop tube, and we also have large and small primer. Pickup tubes okay. So let’s see what we’ve got in here this. Is the powder measure of course it’s. Going to be a bench powder measure okay. We’ve got the baffle all right that goes. Inside the powder measure and keeps uniformed packing down where the rotating drum is working down at the bottom okay. So these are all the parts. That we’re going to need to get our powder measure mounted in a bench mount. Configuration and then we’re going to have this handle that’s going to actuate. The powder measure manually all right. There’s a lot of stuff here let me walk you through this i got all the plastic wrap up i got everything kind of set out here of course we have the press itself. This i just can’t wait to get started. With it’s got a bunch of crazy new features it’s a really great-looking design from what i can tell so far so. This is the press itself we’ve got trays here and again in the next video when we. Get all of this set up and dialed in a lot more familiar with some of this stuff but this is the press handle which has the ambidextrous mount we’ve. Got all the priming system parts the. Drop tubes the pickup tubes explosion shield the top cap goes on the top of the drop tube there we’ve got our three lock and load bushings the top. Equipment accessory tray we’ve got the. Inside and outside case neck chamber primer pocket cleaners case neck brushes. This is going to be our bin for. Completed cartridges our bullets got the. Powder funnel this is a part of the new. Shall holder retention system which I’m. Looking forward to figuring out we have. The powder measure this has the rifle drum and the hornady lock and. Load metering insert system which is really cool you can preset these and snap them in and out almost instantly. We’ve got the baffle which we can go. Ahead and drop in just wiggle it a. Little bit goes down to the bottom this handle will attach in the setup video we’ve got the bench mount so this is. Going to drop the powder measure in. We’ve got the lock ring that’s going to secure that down and the screws so check. This out here is the lock and load bench scale this is what the box looks like. For that and this is a really. Nice unit we’ve got a cover for it we’ve. Got the tray that you can dispense. Loads into and then weight individually this is a 155 grain bullet here. Approximately so at 156 point 3 so. That’s off just a hair not unusual for a. Bullet to be a green or so off point is. The display on this is really nice it’s got a big zero button on there we. Can calibrate with the weights that it. Comes with we can switch between grains and grams and ounces so this is going to. Be a really nice and carrots even I’ll. Have it on grains because of course when we’re measuring gun powder that’s typically what we’re going to use bullet comparator set i already have this set i bought it myself and it’s an indispensable tool in the re loaders. Arsenal this is the hornady 0 to 6 inch. Digital caliper that comes with the kit so it’s also got this carrying case and. It comes with an extra battery which is. Really nice what i like about this is the nice large numbers i mean take a. Look at that’s really easy to see and really easy to use so I’m definitely. Excited about that I’m going to get some use out of that set of digital calipers we’ve got the case lube we’ve got the. Handbook of cartridge reloading. So according to hornady if you look on. The box here it’s got everything that. You need except die sets extra die. Bushings metering inserts if you choose. To have multiple metering inserts and then your cases primer and powder. So that is the overview of what comes. With hornady lock and load iron press kit well there you have it the world’s first up-close and personal look at the hornady lock and load iron press and the press kit in this case so in the next. Started a new hobby bullet reloading ice. Too but i started shooting a lot more. Just because i picked up my interest a. Little bit some reason i don’t know why but i shot a little bit years ago and. Then ice piqued my interest again i have. No idea why but I’d enjoy it just shooting i don’t carry but anyhow this. Is a video just on this lead 1000 press. Which I’ve seen quite a few videos of. Bottom and most guys do not like them. Well i wouldn’t say most I’d say half-and-half 50% don’t like them 50 cents. Like him and i like it but i like to. Tinker with mechanical things so to me. Would it oh he’s operating operates good and it. Operates most of the time and it’s very it’s me usually it does something wrong. Either i don’t follow through with the press or something screws it up but it doesn’t take all it takes about a minute to get it going again and you can let up 50 shells bullets or let me get this. Right to be politically correct i guess. Rounds i guess it would be called 50. Rounds i probably only loaded maybe 400. Rounds at that just to see if i could do. It you know and see if i liked it and i do like it i picked it up for 240 bucks. But that wasn’t just the press was like 180 now these just round figures, but they’re close and then i got. Also the scale when i picked it up hornady scale which i think he said it. Was like a $30.00 scale $29 or something. And i got some primers one box primers. There’s couple boxes there and i also got bollocks i think two packs a full 200. Poets i think a hundred twenty-five. Nine-millimeter by the way 125 grain and. I think i don’t know 15 grain i don’t. No 145 on her but that don’t matter they’re just about $1 more per hundred. Between the two different grains the potter was $22 so like i say everything. Come — it was under 250 250 bucks and. That was enough to get started where the. Guy who sold me this thing he had hornet. Be there we’re gonna be loader we’re not. Going to be I’m sorry um reading i think. Reading loader you know i wouldn’t have. Walked out of there with the loader just. A loader you know just the operating thing as what’s out there dies and goes out to powder measure. Without all that so it to me this is the. Way to go if you like to tinker if you. Want something that’s gonna work smooth right out of the box which this did sort. As soon as i set it up it worked to find but i needed to know what i was doing it. Had to read the directions if you’re not. Mechanically inclined I’d stay completely away from reloading completely but i haven’t used any other. Re loaders so and i can’t really say that. I guess that’s a broad statement. But anyhow if you’re looking at one and. You like to tinker with your car or anything else and you do like shooting its worth getting one right.
No. Hey guys kid hill here gone scare and. Freedom today I’ve got a review or a leave progressive 1000 reloading press i. Picked one up on ebay back when reloading presses were really hard to come by and i paid about i think. I paid about two hundred and seventy dollars plus shipping at that time they were going for over five hundred dollars for this press so to me that was pretty good deal without after the hype is all. Settled down of course the prices have dropped, and they’re much easier to. Acquire however i needed something that would load nine-millimeter because i. Shoot a lot of nine-millimeter i have several and yeah i just had to have a. Press and i really wanted to get to be. Able to reload some 9-millimeter so I’m. Going to go ahead and do a review of my leave progressive 1000 press today and. Show you how it works and how easy it is. To operate today we’ll be reviewing the. Lee pro 1000 progressive three-stage. Press for 9-millimeter and I’m going to. Show you guys how it cycles. The first thing with the lead progressive press that you’ll notice is there’s a red hopper for powder. It also has just below that a disc. Powder measure it’s an auto powder measure and it does measurements by. Volume moving down you will see the dies. And over here is the primer magazine and. See if we can get a better picture of that the primer magazine is basically a. Place that if i hold the light right you’ll be able to see all the parameters i have loaded basically you just load up. A bunch of primers i try to keep it about a hundred and no more for safety reasons but you load up about a hundred primers in there, and they trickle down. Into your press automatically sometimes. You might have to give this thing a little tap like that and it usually you. No knock some of them down the hole like it’s supposed to if they quit flowing then moving along you have these. Big tubes here full of empty brass and i. Believe each of those tubes there’s four of them and i think they hold about 25. Rounds approximately and then down lower. Is where the action happens. You basically have some places where your shells rotate I’m going to start. And show you one i could do several up. To three at a time in there but I’m just going to do one and explain what’s. Happening as it’s going around the first. Step is that we’re going to put an empty brass casing in so I’m going to pull the handle back a little bit and I’m going. To manually insert one you’ll notice that the case still has the primer in it. The old smith primer we’re going to knock that out of there this is what happens in the first pull of the handle there’s actually a needle up in there. That you can see it’s right there and it. Will actually poke the primer out, and we’ll do that right now oops sorry I’m really shaky. Gotta index the round first there it’s. Indexed you can see and then it’s going. To go up into that neil there you sorry. About the lighting guys and it has just now put the primer out and then down it. Comes it will spin over to get a new primer put in on the up push of the. Adil so we push it forward and it just. Seated a primer i felt it go in and then. You’ll also notice down below that I’ll. Come around the websites you can see this station up here is where the powder. Will dispense from once that casing goes. Up in there, so we’re going to go ahead. And crank it up in there it’s going to. Drop some powder down there it was it. Just filled with powder my press is a. Little sting at about this point here and then it’s going to swing over here. Where i can put a slug in it and I’ve. Got both hollow points and roundels I’m. Just going to use a round nose will slip it in on their just like that and you’ll notice up there it just goes. Right in there and trips it down a. Little scrimped and down it comes sorry. For the shaky camera and it just spits. It put down on this tray and there you. Have a nine millimeter round and the. More you make the more they spit out so yeah that’s a pretty little slick device. I love it I’ve already loaded almost the. Full box not quite but of those full-metal-jacket round noses and i like. It i really like this press there are a few things they don’t like about it like how stiff it is after it loads the powder on the back up so it kind of. Hangs on me for some reason not real sure why kind of afraid to put some lube down there because I’ve heard lube can mess up the primer and stuff like that so i don’t want to get any lube down there I’m kind of afraid to do something like that so I’m not sure what’s causing it to stick maybe because it’s new and it hasn’t broken in yet or maybe that’s just common with these i don’t really know but i think what else is there oh yeah. When i first got this press also from the factory i had to use this to set the. Depth of the seating basically for these. The first bullet i ever did i crimped it. Way too far and it went way down into the shell. Casing and that’s not what you want to do so what i did to fix that is i took a factory federal 9-millimeter round and i. Indexed it into the press here there’s a. Way to put the press in the neutral by pulling it about half-way up and then. This thing will free turn and you can index brass into it and go and reverse. Kind of like this and you can just index. It well i indexed it to the position of the crimp and it had a slug on there already. So i just cranked the handle up in there. And then i went up here and i dialed it down until i felt the screwed that down. Until i felt it touch the tip of the. Round nose slug on the factory load and then i knew i was at the proper seating. Depth for these type of slugs and of. Course it just spits it back out when you’re done i can tell you guys right now this is very addicting it’s almost nerve calming i would say actually like. Too real and then i would it’s almost like an addiction and worse than smoking cigarettes i. Think i can’t wait to like put the next. One in and create the handle a few times is kind of kind of cool let me reload a couple more just for fun of it. Not too bad. I’ve been putting the tray like this so. I’ve got several it’s kind of dark. Murray what’s a nice little white your. Blue crazy like what yeah bullets not. Too shabby. Cute. Actually like the little press and there. Is something else i want to talk about on this press and you’ll notice there’s this round thing and I’m pretty sure you. Can see that there’s a ton of primers in here this thing can be dangerous. I have recommended to only load about a. A Hundred of the primers in there and the. Reason is this is an automatic feed from. This primer magazine down this tube here. Into your press and you’ll kind of see. If i swing around over here that there’s some maybe if i get the camera on the. Bar there are some primers down in here. Well it’s really hard to show you but there’re some primers that you can see, and they automatically feed down and. This little what does that do that. Little device right there presses them. In and sometimes if you get one in there. Kind of wrong it could crush it and of. Course we all know what happens when you crush primer you risk ignition and if. You ignite that primer. You’re going to blow this thing apart. And get hurt or something else there are. Some videos out on youtube that show that actually happening i don’t want it. To happen to me one more thing i want to mention that magazine here is the. Booklet to come with the press says that. They recommend that you only use Remington or cci number 500 small pistols. Primers i have picked up back when. Primers were hard to get ahold of a box of federal small pistol primers and. Actually picked up four boxes because. There was plenty of them and i have not used them because again I’ve heard that. People have had issues where they’ve blown this part up because these are too. Soft and when this little apparatus down. Here where my thumb is pushes the primer. Into the bullet casing it has a tendency. These can bind crush and explode and i. Don’t want that happen so i thought i would throw that into my list of peeves that with this press you can only use the recommended ones to be safe i mean. I’m sure you could get away with these but why chance it so i just thought to. Throw that in there so highly recommend that anybody use progressive press. Definitely or any reloading press for that matter use safety glasses for god’s. Sake definitely save your eyes and maybe. Your life and yeah he’ll be well on your. Was this little powder measure also can. We turned on and off by twisting it. Simply that’s off and then this is on i. See mine’s a little loose for some reason and it should. I’ll probably be cranking out some rounds to take out to the range for one. Of my shooting videos I’ve got a bullet review to do brass by bill llc donated. 100 rounds of hollow points for me to review and i want to run the review but. They’re not little flaky ones at. All they’re pretty neat so anyway I’m. Going to review those shoot them see how well they perform and i give my overall opinion of them but i think they’re pretty solid so far thanks guys for. I mean it’s not something that you just jump on and think everything’s going to go perfect it takes a little bit of fine-tuning some adjustments definitely. Have to pay attention or things could go seriously wrong and like i said i recommend using some safety glasses when you’re using this thing because if something blows up in your face those will save your eyes or your face. How’s it going youtubers gonna give you. A demo of our is turret press in the next few minutes i want to take a couple minutes and say. So i just got this set up i’ve been playing around with it a little bit as some of you may know have seen my videos before i’ve played around with their single stage or rock sucker i also have. A leader at press that i have set up here right next to it that i probably be reviewing as well later but for the. Moment being gonna focus on the rcbs type press so initial impressions it’s. Well built like you would expect from any rcbs product it’s got the ambi lever. Here so if you’re left-handed right-handed however you choose to operate it it’s got a smooth stroke. Definitely well-built very solid impressed by those features um i’m gonna. Hit all the things i like initially so yeah very strong very well-built not. Gonna be disappointed with it as far as. Operability initially my impression is. It’s used or would be better used as. Almost a single stage press that you can sit up but have it set up here with a saw i have a bullet sizing die on one. Side i was sizing some cast throughway bullets putting gas checks on them the. Other side i have a 300 blackout full. Inside scene die so i was just doing some of those i could show that here off. Ability real quick and i say it’d be better used as a single stage because the manual operation is just something i don’t see an individual would use regularly for continuous use the way you. Would on the lee terry press so these uh. Casings here are 300 blackout again. Already been sized and d-prime but a smooth stroke you can see come out size. D capped very nicely a couple. Impressions about that as well here’s. The spent primer catch as you can see. It’s um i would call it nesting optimal. Well the one i have here i actually put some electrical tape on it just kept cracking in half that’s about the. Quality that you know i would expect. From a very low level company not like rcbs so it does catch. Spent primers you can see there are a handful in here that being said i’m just. Not a fan of the design here’s one that dropped on by the side i’ll catch it in. There and this just rests in here in these two little holes here and that’s again meant to be ambidextrous you could switch sides if i only want it from if you’re familiar with rcbs you know that. There’s the primer tube again for me i’m. Just not a fan of that model i think the lis i think if the other models have just better all-around. Priming a deep priming mechanisms one of. The other things i’ll hit real quick here you can’t see it great but i’ll just lift this up and pull around the. Actual priming mechanism you set that up. I’m just not impressed with it i don’t like it a whole lot some of you may like it just doesn’t work for me i think there’s way better options out there and then along those lines if you look in here there’s actually a little toggle in. There so what that’s meant to do is it. It slides back and forth um when you. Prime you’ll see you know if i went on the down stroke that would push over and. What that does is it it pushes over allows you to prime the casing and then. When you’re deep priming so there you. Can kind of see it moving when you’re deep priming it’s supposed to fall back and direct those spam primers into the plastic tray there my experience i’ve. Only been using it a very little bit it. Just doesn’t work well it gets stuck on one side or the other so i can’t say i’m a fan of it i would argue this this. Turret press being again manual rotation. This up which then activates the. Transfer box you see how the transfer. Block moves there then the transfer. Block will drop a bullet down into the. Bullet feeder and hit this ramp and that. Ramp will drop the bullet down over into. The cedar die now in the cedar die there. The seeding stem in here is actually. Loose it kind of swings back and forth. So as the bullet comes down it will swing back away from the bullet so the. Bullet can get down into the case and. Then as it clears the seeding stem the. Seeding stem comes back to center and then as the case with the bullet now in. In the neck comes up it pushes the. Seedings down then pushes the bullet down into the case and let’s teach the. Bullet so it’s its unlike any other. Kind of die you probably dealt with before because of the grant and the. Movable seating stem typically they’re. Not movable they sit in one. Position put it back together. I put the spring back on the rod at the. Top of the ramp slide the ramp in. Through the bottom. Then i take the die made it with the. Bullet feeder extension bring this down. And lock it all back together okay so. That’s really all there is to the. The die assembly it’s basically designed. To drop a single bullet in to the feeder. Extension hit that ramp the ramp will. Cause the bullet to come down into the die and then as the case goes up it. Comes in contact with the seeding stem and seats the bullet so it feeds the. Bullet and seats the bullet all in one step in one die on the pistol cedar. Which we’ll see here in just a few minutes the bullet will drop down into. The case in one state you know on one. Station on the press and then it’ll move. To the next station where it’ll actually be seated it’s a two-step process with.
