Hornady® Lock-N-Load® Die Bushings

Lock-N-Load bushings are the easiest way to get the most out of your reloading press. Hornady’s Lock-N-Load quick-change bushing system is strong and simple to use. The Lock-N-Load concept is based on the positive locking action of the bolt-action rifle. Once dies are adjusted for loading, these settings are locked in place on the die bushing with the die’s lock ring. By keeping the die in the die bushing, it remains set for future loading and removal with a simple twist. These bushings will also fit other reloading presses using a 1-1/4 – 12 thread.

What’s going on everybody. I just picked up a hornady gun case they. Lock they have three points of contact they lock here and there and i. Picked this up because i carry a gun in my car every day and you know someone. Just broke my window but you know to get into my car whatever grab my change or. Cds or something stupid you know they. Pop the glove box open and some thief criminal you know has my gun and you. No i thought about that for a while and i said you know what i know my. Car’s private property i know it’s locked, and they’re committing a crime, and they’re breaking into my stuff stealing my gun but still it’s a. Criminal a thief a thug a felon having. My gun and i don’t want to make it that. Easy for him you know they commit a crime something happens you know that’s that’s a terrible thing and i don’t want. It to be with my god i want to be with. Any gun but you know especially my gun. So i bought this was like 25 bucks. At amazon and you know there it’s a you. No thin steel like i say it’s not gonna keep anybody out this is just for. Like unauthorized users mostly you know. If you’re riding around with kids or passengers in general coworkers in your car just to keep him out of your. Stuff right if criminal broke into your car, and he found it can he get into it. Absolutely he could probably pry it open. With something simple is a thick. Screwdriver in about two or three minutes but yeah. So it’s just one extra step a little more of a deterrent just so you know. Can’t he or she can’t just you know. Break into your car grab your stuff and. There but you know if it’s an athlete 11. Couple extra magazines. That’s for its 1911 but it closes up it. Has a key what it does do though real. Quick I’m gonna go down home depot because they give you this cheap little cable right and you know you can cut. That but paradise you know so i want to. Go down to home depot me to take a diameter steel cable i don’t know what’s. What diameter i want yet I’m gonna go check it out but I’ll probably get you know something left two maybe even three days just something a little thicker so they can’t just cut it with a. Big pair of dikes I’m gonna get. Something a little better than s2 because this just goes in here like this. And that’s, so they can’t jerk on it but. You know if they pried this up enough. They could get that out nothing flat. That’s just a piece of aluminum cheap washer there so I’m gonna get something a little bigger steel and then that way. I guess a they gotta earn it and most of. These you know they smash and grab you know they’re gonna break into your car grab your radio real quick or handful of. Change or whatever they see that’s valuable to them so if i got a little. Thicker gauge wire and put that on there. That’d be that’d be a little more of a. Deterrent little did have to put in a little more effort into getting that. Cable cut but yeah is it gonna is it. Going to about anyone from getting in. There no you can pry it open like i say probably two three minutes but as if. They want to spend the two or three minutes when the car alarms going off and people are looking around like i. Said just a little extra deterrent so quantity lockable gun case. 25 bucks on amazon three points of. Contact let’s say they they lock. Here there and up there and the bars. That’s why i got this one because at. Least it has three points of contact most of the other ones the gun vaults and the bulldog and it just got one lock. Right there and like i say you pry it. Open probably thirty seconds still pry this one open with very easily but you know two more losses because it’s better. In my opinion so there it is man everybody should be responsible you know. Keep the sata on the authorized people’s. You know access and just a little more. Deterrent for common thief nice. Watch anyway.

Hello I’m matt with hornady security today I’d like to show you the redesign horn ad try point lock box we took the. Today’s video we’ll take a look at the hornady cam lock bullet puller it’s a. Really handy little device it’s biggest. Advantage of speed i your time that. Takes me to put a bullet in i want these. Kinetic pullers and hang it on something. And get the bullet out of there and in the case i can do five or six cartridges. With the cam lock bullet puller so that’s. The biggest advantage of speed you’re pressed to pull the bullet instead of. You know banging it on something and these things tend to break I’ve been through a few of these that’s why i always keep two on hand in case one of them breaks and i can i have something. To pull bullets with now the cam hawk. Bullet puller comes in three pieces. That’s what you have your die body you. Have your and you have your cam lock or your can device which includes this. Little pin here which is the push pin those are two pieces to come with. The cam lock bullet puller then you’ll also need the appropriate. Call it for the caliber you’re using now. This particular one is number thirteen there’s 13 different kaulitz available. For different diameter bullets number thirteen is for forty-five caliber and. You’ll notice that it goes on a 45. Cartridge perfectly and stops at the case neck here so that’s number thirteen. Is for forty-five number seven here is. For 308 and 312 caliber bullets so what. You do to then just set this up is you take the cam lock assembly off of the. Die body you put the collet in with the openings. Down and then you screw in your. Can lock assembly now the instructions. That come with this thing are confusing. At best and almost impossible to. Accomplish at worst. I had just mine a little bit differently here you can see i at the end here i see. If you can see this on the video if you. See that as i turn the handle the can. The collet in the end there will come forward and compress what that does then. Is it compresses it around me that’s in. Focus or not but it compresses the collet then around the bullet and then. When you lower the ram of the press since this is grabbing onto the bullet. It’ll pull the case away from the bullet. So the way i adjust it and this is. Totally different than the in the instructions I’ll take the kinloch. Bullet puller off the press all together I’ll take I’ll put the collet in and. I’ll take a cartridge that i want to pull and I’ll just sit it on there on. The collet and they call it the. Cartridge will be stopped by the collet grabbing on to the case mouth here. So I’ll put it on like that and then. I’ll work the handle if the handle won’t. Turn and I’ll unscrew it a little bit or if i can’t turn to you know lever the handle I’ll turn it a little bit or unscrew it and try again if i can get it. Down to a 90 degree i can check to see if the bullet is being held in place if. It is maybe I’ll screw it in just a. Little bit more and see if i can get it to a 90 degree there i can’t so I’m. Going to undo it maybe about a quarter. Turn to an eighth of a turn i can get it down to a ninety degree the bullet is held in place that means. I’ve got my cam lock assembly adjusted. Properly so I’m going to take my locking. Ring here and rock lock it to that in that position okay so next step then is to go. To the press and adjust it okays to. Adjust the die into the press again. I do this entirely differently then hornady does when put my lock and load bushing on there uh what I’ll do is I’ll. Take cartridge that i want to pull the. Bullet on by the way i swap these cartridges together just for this video you’ll notice that some of them are had. A spent primer some don’t have a primer. At all so you’re wondering why I’m using. Beat-up brass and beat-up bullets because i just put these together for. The video uh what I’ll do is I’ll take a. Cartridge i want to pull and raise the. Ram all the way and then I’ll screw the. Cartridge or the die down over the. Cartridge so it comes in contact with. The neck of the case right there and. Then I’ll lock that down now then all. You need to do in order to pull the. Bullet is you bring the ramp up to the top keep this straight up turn the. Handle lower the around and boom and you bring. You handle back up and it’ll drop the bullet out for you put the next one in. And boom bullet pull okay raise the. Handle drop the bullet out for you so as you can see i can whip through these pretty quick much faster than a. Kinetic puller in fact I’d still be fiddling with the kinetic puller to get just to get one cartridge done now this only really. Works jacketed bullets cast bullets all you’re. Gonna do is squish your bullet i. Don’t think it’ll work let me go ahead and try a cast bullet here. It shouldn’t good yeah. Can’t quite grab onto that yeah all I’m. Doing here is scratching the scratch in the lead so won’t work with cast. Bullets but it works great with what. Jacketed bullets very simple to use simple to to set up and that works great. Be careful with this handle here if you pull this handle you know to the side. Too much I’ve heard that they’ll break off of there so when you turn the handle. Make sure you’re going with the. Rotation of the handle and not not against it just to make sure you don’t. Break the handle off they do sell these handles separately which i assume is. That’s the reason people tend to break their handles off so just be. Careful with that than that it’s a handy. Little device goes real quick that’s all. For this video i hope you liked it and so please click the like button maybe even subscribe to my channel thanks for. Watching and happy reloading.

Today i would like to describe the. Proper setup in use of the workaday camelot bullet for it consists of a daya. Bhaji caliber specific collet today. We’re using the 270 and the plunger. Which is used to close the collet around. Your bullet you’ll need an allen wrench. To tighten down your lock ring you do. Have to buy a separate collet for each. Caliber let’s go ahead and get this out. Together so that you know how to. Assemble yours take your daya bhaji you insert your. Call it into the dial body place your. Plunger next. Take your hornady cam lock handle and. Thread it into your diabolic. And the way this works is we got the. Proper tension and you close your handle. It closes that collet around the bullet. Like so. Now let me show you the proper way to install this into your press so that you. Can install yours what you need to do is. Thread this into your press and just get. It to where it’s flush with the bottom. Of your press place your shell into the. Shall holder like so. Raise the ram until the bullet enters. The body just short of the cases over your handle and rotate holding the die. Body rotate until you feel it touch your. Bullet raise your handle print the body. A quarter inch more adjust your lock. Ring and tighten. And now you are ready to start pulling a little your shell into the shell holder raise the ram until it enters the collet. Just short of touching the case mouth. Lower your handle and adjust for the. Right amount of tension tighten the ring. Down for tighter tension adjust the. Handle clockwise for less pinching. Counterclockwise so now that you’ve got. It tightened down lower the ram and the. Bullet should dislodge itself. Raise your handle and the bullet comes. Out let’s go ahead and continue with the. Other four that i have to show you how quickly this can be achieved. Thank you for joining me today and we’ll. Catch you on the flip side. You.

Love it or hate it’s already cam lock. Bullet puller yeah most of us have a. Love-hate relationship with it a lot of. Times its more hate than love but you. Now some of us got deal with it. One of the cheapest things out there once you get it set up all right it. Actually does work but yeah any of us. Who actually own one know that the instructions are sorely lacking — vague. Nondescript and open to her. Interpretation i guess i don’t know how. Better to play um i decided to de male. Some of my oversized two-to-three from. My original point size and i these are. Two to five and they’re actually crimped. These are some of the early ones i did load yeah i put a little crimp in them. Now figured these are 22 long-rifle. Brass so it’s thinner than copper so. It’s softer it’s more easily damaged and. I’ve gotten to where i can reliably pull them without marring them up with this. So when i first got it. Copper-jacketed m193 ball ammo was. Not safe i would uh mangle it i just. Couldn’t get it right i came across a. Video on youtube i can’t remember who. Did it kind of showing how to actually set this sucker up to where yeah. You didn’t mangle your brass like um. Let’s see didn’t do this to your brass you know. Which means the main body is set down a. Little too low it bites the brass. Bangles it and well it’s good for 300. Blackout. But i found that if lets’s see you said. It to wear it you know just barely you. Now they say bring it down to where the. Neck just touches it that’s about it. Just not overlap nothing if you can get. It to come just shy of touching the case you’re better off just that little. Security blanket so to speak which isn’t. Always possible. Now what something i learned that you. Much experimenting was and if a lot of. People will run these up hold the handle. Crank this over and then pull it found. Don’t do it that way because you get two. Opposing forces and by the time this. Bites in you’ve mangled your bullet in. Possibly your case what i found is just. Let this hang out give this a light. Press well a little more than light once. You get it figured out you feel what’s. Right and wrong if it’s too light it’ll. Just slide won’t grip or you know too. Tight you may go through balls you go oh. Okay i figured it out gives it just a. Little bit and oh there it is. Not a mark on it okay pull the tip that. One wasn’t annealed enough but yeah. Basically when you pull this and leave. The you know no pressure on the handle it lets it the bullet slide down until. The cam finds its happy place where it. Wants to grip but not mangle and it. Works and if it doesn’t mar soft brass. Its then copper has even better chance. And thinking who knows for forecast just. Might work yes. And i said these are oversized and I’d. Like crimp in them so there you have it. It can’t be done oh i made quite a few bullets before i. Figure it out um don’t use a posing. Force and just doesn’t have to be kamd. All the way over or any of that it just. Needs to find where it wants to be and you have just enough pressure to bite. Because it seems like there’s just a. Certain part of the ogive where it had. Its maximum bite without you know too. Much force i don’t know how better to put it yeah. Um but yeah hopefully that will help. Someone manuel did nothing for me. Video helped a little bit and then I’m. Not sure how i figured out you know just. Let it do its thing well guess nothing else was working so i. Said who knows it’s been a while and i. Just thought to make this video and. Things are kind of sporadic right now the swaging is yeah pretty much run its. Course that’s like you know come up with. Some modifications or learn some new. Stuff or whatever so let’s go get back. To this and see you next one god bless.

Hey there gavin you hear from ultimate. Realtor com if you’re an experienced real odor and maybe even if you’re a new real odor you might have had that moment when reloading goes wrong. Now there’s a bunch of different outcomes based on reloading going wrong it could be something as simple as you didn’t size your cartridge correctly doesn’t chamber and your bolt-action. Rifle doesn’t feed reliably in your ar-15 or it could be a lot more drastic. So you have a case with a lot of case capacity and you double charge well you. Could end up blowing up that revolver you could end up blowing up that semi-auto pistol very serious. Responsibility and that’s why it pays to double triple quadruple check your load. Data double triple quadruple check your. Components double triple quadruple check. Your powder charge while you’re loading. You can’t be too careful now recently i had such a situation unfold i was. Reloading a bunch of 9-millimeter ammunition i got my 5.0 grain charge of. Cfe pistol dialed in for nine-millimeter. I was off and running well i was using a powder made sure without a baffle in it. And what happened was over the course of the loading session things settled in a bit and the charge level increased now fortunately i was very strictly following my visual check on every. Cartridge policy that i have with myself. It’s either that or use a powder dye. Like a powder cop died of quantity or a rcbs lockout dye from our cbs gotta. Do it get to check every single round. And make sure there is powder and there’s not too much powder so now i. Have probably 800 rounds of nine. Millimeter ammunition that i don’t know the integrity of i don’t know when the powder started to rise i noticed it after a while so it’s kind of junk ammo. At this point now the good news is i can break it all down and i can reuse all of. The components so it’s just a bunch of. Time that i flushed down the toilet now you might be used to these impact bullet pullers this is a frankfort arsenal unit here works really good it’s. Got a in it you put the cartridge in there you tighten it down hit it on the floor and the momentum of the bullet causes it to. Come out of the case and then it captures the pattern here and you can pour it out it takes a while it’s better. For a few bullets that you need to pull maybe while you’re setting up the press you don’t want to waste components or something like that but I’ve got a large. Quantity of nine-millimeter cartridges. Here that i need to break down so i went. Out and i bought a hornady cam lock. Bullet puller this is a dye that you can. Used to use a collet that uses lever action to grab the bullet uses the press. To pull the bullet out it’s really fast or really effective to use so let me show you how to set it up and then I’ll show you breaking down some of this bad nine-millimeter ammo that i loaded so. Over on this side we have what’s included with the hornady cam lock a bullet puller comes in this slip tube case here it includes the die body the. Cam lever assembly and a stem that. Activates the call it also includes printed instructions that tell you how. To set up the cam lock bullet puller now. In addition to the cam lock bullet polar. Components you’re going to need one or more call it’s basically one for each class of bullet diameter that you want. To pull so this call it number nine 338. 358 is the range is the correct call it. For nine-millimeter so what i do is. Insert to call it insert the stem and. Then screw in the cam lever assembly. Just a ways next we will install this on. The press and get everything dialed in. Okay so let’s go over setup now the first note is pretty much any press with standard seven eighths by fourteen die threading is going to work with the hornby cam lock bullet puller tool I’m going to use the hornady lock and load ap because I’ve got it set up for nine I’m going to kind of reload the. Ammunition after the breakdown with this particular press and I’m using station number five i just put my lock and load bushing in that station because I’ve. Good access here to insert and remove the cartridge as i go through the steps here so the first thing i need is a flashlight I’m going to shine that up into where the bottom of the dye will be. At the top of the stroke I’m going to. Start to work the dye body assembly down. Into the bushing go ways down there okay. Now I’m going to take a nine millimeter parabellum cartridge is one of the. Cartridges I’m going to be breaking down raise the ram to the top of the stroke. So the cartridge is inserted into the die this is where are this is where a. Flashlight comes in really handy we need to aim it rights up inside there okay and. What I’m doing is I’m screwing this down. So that the mouth of the collet you saw. Me put in is right at the level where. It’s about to go over the top of the. Case mouth, so we want it just above that level so there’s a slight sliver of. Bullet showing between where the collet. Is and where the top of the case mouth is we’ll kind of dial that in as our. Preliminary setting and now this is kind. Of where it comes down to feel what we want to do is work this seating plug. Down by turning in the cam lever. Assembly and what we want is to have. This engages kind of right at the 45 or. So that’s a little bit it’s actually. Probably not too bad right there could. You just start it to grab it can be a little bit over the 45 that’s fine that will help it releases the bullet a little. But better so we work the lever we pull. The ram down you can see here we’ve got the case the bullet has been pulled we. Dump the powder and then we can raise. The cam lock lever to the top position and it releases the bullet let me show. You the process once we’ve got things dialed in and are up running steady state so once you’ve got the tool set up. It’s really easy to use you’re just going to put a cartridge in hold the cam lock lever up to release tension bear down on. The bullets slightly dump the powder out. Of the case then raise the lever that’s. Going to release the bullet and you’re off and running once you get into the. Flow it’s pretty fast it doesn’t take a lot of tension on the bullet that’s going to make it release a whole. Lot better. Lock and load ap is a good progressive. Press to use here because the case retention spring system works really. Good for quick access to the cartridges. At each station see I’m spilling a. Little bit of powder I’m not worrying about that because it was kind of over full and it’s just kind of a. Reality when you’ve got powder sticking. To the basis of the bullets so I’ll clean up the press afterwards I’ll get. All ready I’ll have pre-primed cases here I’ll reload I’ll double a little triple all quadruple check my load. Should be kind of off and running. So reloading mess-ups are always a. Bummer i just feel fortunate that i found out about this issue in the reloading room rather than out at the range it’s a lot. Better to waste a bunch of time than to have a gun blow up on you or to injure. Your hand loses an eye that kind of thing so i probably got an hour or two more to. Break down all this ammo before i even get to the point where I’m ready to start reloading so I’m going to get back to it but if you like this video please give it a thumbs up if you don’t want to miss any of the action on ultimate reload or calm please subscribe to my channel until then safe loading and safe. Shooting see y’all later. You.

    RCBS® Stuck Case Remover

Easily extracts stuck case from standard sizer dies without damaging the die. Uses simple two-step process. Just drill and tap case head. Fits all calibers.
     Cancer and Reproductive Harm- www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.

Okay guys i have a quick tip on. Removing stuck case in my situation the. Case head is broken off and let’s take a. Look probably see that in here so the. Issue is what do we do we go and buy. A bunch of stuff or is there a simple. Way to get this case back out so it’s. Been fired there’s nothing in there. And so obviously what I’m gonna do just. Take these products and remove that case. So first i get myself an oversized brush. This is a 50 caliber typical bronze. Bristle brush the caliber of the weapon. Is 303 british and it’s typical that. When you reload this if you rule length. Resize that you’re gonna get a head. Separation because that’s typical. Problem with this weapon this caliber so. Typical so let’s just take like a pistol. Cleaner I’ve put my. Brush on their remove my bolt. Insert my brush in far enough so that it. Goes into the brass and probably. Asks the case head now this brush is. Like jammed into their pull it out booms. Simple.

Blood when sorrow showcase here and tonight we’d run into a little problem with some brass or just wanted to go over some few basic rules here for. Getting this stuff out so basically I’ve got a piece of brass in there and when i pull bait ramrod down and put the handle. Up i have had left a note I’ve had the. Piece of brass stay in the bottom of the. Reloading press you can see it for. Tuning down right there so what we’re. Going to do with that now we’re going to take that died out right there flip. Around backwards or to put it back in. The press we’re going to go over how you get to do so first thing that you’re. Going to do is you’re actually going to remove expand the ball into cap in on. What that does is it gets everything out. Of the center of the die, so we got room to get intact so you turn the ball comes. Through what that comes now you may need. To get on there with set of pliers just. Add this apart for this occasion the soil everything out there’s our rod. Right there captain right now we can. Remove the rest of the dye have to work. On that piece of brass it’s stuck in. There we’re going to take this die lets’s. Be some brass in it we’re going to thread it back in with your bottom. Transit local or online still not lined. Up there we go night see there’s our die. In upside down with the piece of brass. Now coming out the top you just see it. Right there give this camera in a better. Positions we keep watching that. Here we are on a top working surface /. Press. Now we’re ready to begin doing some work so in the stuck case remover kit we have. Some parts so skim over there we’ll take. A look behind you can see stuck case. River kit part numbers written on there. And down in front the whole parts comes. With it the actual polar it’s true there. That we’re going to thread in turn it into our work and throw that screw in. Using the allen key and to make the hole that we’re going to thread the screw, and we’re going to use that drill bit, and then we’re going to top that hole cuz that’s got the thread size for that screw, and then we’re going to pull that stuff k so oh the stuff gets used see. You in a minute remember when doing. Anything with drills or any kind of reloading show you wear safety glasses so will be a little hard to. Drill down through once you get it makes. Sure your drill bits tightened up really nicely and then the next thing we’re going to do is we’re going to tap that hole and if you can get on there firmly. Oh suppliers here right here. An acute. Going. So it’s good to back off a little bit. Just cut the thread in go forward a bit. And then bring it back just kind of snap off and then what’s in there. You can see it’s snap and stuff over there. Just going. Spritely things a little easier as this. Square on top yeah lots user. So i can tell now I’m going to thread all the way through the base of this piece of brass just going too carefully. And wine that yep and it’s threaded all. The way through just be careful when you’re touching that stuff that you don’t get it rock on your finger now. Next those pieces off there we’re going. To take that we’re going to put it on top so now we actually have part of the. Keys polar on top how this is going to. Work is that sits on the base of the dye kind of goes around you can see there it’s got like a little cup tej it sits right over top of the base of the dye, and then we put this screw down through. It and it’s going to thread into the piece of brass that put the threads in. Slowly give us this allen key it is the. Right size if its advanced great and. We’re going to turn it the way in gets. Inside those threads and it has about three-eighths of an inch of thread in there to bite on so it’s actually quite substantial and it gets tight, and we’re. Just going to keep turning it and you’ll. Feel a come loose hopefully that’s not. Your thread spinning out inside and you successfully extracted you’re stuck case. Now that you’ve got your piece of brass. Out what the next step is to get the standard wall a case. This case is done you never going to reuse that so voila there is your. Expanded ball back that back on you to. Cap your on and put the decapping rod. And experian the ball back into the die. And you are successfully.

Hello youtube re loaders thanks for. Watching hornet loader here my standard. Disclaimer i am not an employee of quantity manufacturing nor do i have any interest financially or otherwise miss a low quantity products I’ve been reloading for almost 35 years and for the last 20 years I’ve been using hornady equipment almost exclusively hence the name orange loader the winery. Logo is a registered trademark of hardy manufacturing grand island nebraska. Today’s video be an examination of. Hornady rifle dies now you’re probably. Thinking really what’s to know you get a sizing into capping die you get a. Bullets eating die what else do you need. To know well a little more to it than that now the hornet ii dies come in three. Different grades there’s the american series which i don’t have a set of those. But you can see in the inset it’s basically a sizing decapping die and a. Bullets eating die they’re run about $25.00 roughly, and they’re compatible. With products that are out there on the. Market from other manufacturers now the. Custom grade dies of hornady which i. Have here also come with a sitting decapping die in a bullet feeding die. These are set up so that they can use. Some options and accessories that available from hornady start with the. Sizing and decapping dies the full. Length sizing die it has what they call their zip spindle which is the decaf. Indle the zip spindles actually thread. It so you look and loosen the locknut. Here and then you can actually. Screw these zip spindle in and out you can see it going in and out to adjust. The decapping pin down here now there’s. A zip spindle the oh the old spindles were smooth you would just push that you unlock them the locknut and then you just kind of push them back and forth or in and out until you got them to the right length. The decapping thin on the old spindles. Was actually a part of the spindle so if they be capping pin broke you’d have to get a whole new spindle whereas with the. Zip spindle this elliptical expander. Here can be unscrewed and the decapping. Pin can be removed and replaced trust me. It can be removed it’s a little sticky in their ain’t it but you can get just a replacement to. Capping pin then and put your put it. Back in your expander and then screw it. Back on to the zip spindle. Like so let’s get it on there and then. We bring the zip spindle back in. Adjust it then once it’s adjusted to the point where we want it we adjust the we. Tighten the lock screw down and i won’t. Move now since it’s threaded there it won’t move the smooth sided spindle. If you had say the military crimp on you. On the primer or a primer that was. Particularly hard to get out the cinder. Would actually kind of push itself out whereas with the zip spindle that’s not a that’s not an issue and there’s a. Spindle by the way you can buy separately so if you’ve got one of the older dies with the older spindle on it you can buy just the zip spindle and. Replace it with the new one so you cannot have a six mendonsa the old. Smooth sided spindle now the bullets. Eating die is basically just a tube all the action happens on the inside up here. Is your adjustment stem down here is. Your alignment sleeve which goes in and out of the die I’m going to take. This apart here you can see the insides. Are what’s on the inside this is just a. Screw adjustment screw inside there is a. Seating stem and I’m going to pop the. Alignment sleeve off here you have to pop this wire off like so and then the. Alignment stem will come out what. Happens the seating stem goes down into the. Alignment sleeve like so now what. Happens when you’re seeing your bullets in your cases is the bullet and the neck. Of the case will enter the alignment. Sleeve and note that will do is that will align the bullet and the end the case so that it’s got some sort of. Concentricity that’s the bullet is going straight down into the k the end of the bullet goes into the hole. Here at the end to bottom of the seating stem which helps align the alignment and. Then as the whole assembly has moved up. Into the die eventually it comes in. Contact with the seating stem and that. Will then push the bullet down into the. End of the case see here the end of the. Seating stem goes over the end of the bullet okay so that’s what’s happening. On the inside basically you have everything lined up like that on the. Inside now I’m going to go ahead and put. The climate’s lead back in and to lock. That in place put the spring back on. And i lox the linemen stem back in and. Then i can put the adjustment stem back. In the top when you first buy a new set of dies you want to do that you want to take it completely apart like i just did there and use a cleaner and lubricant on. It they come shipped with a rust. Inhibitor coating on them and that gets. Kind of sticky it makes it gums up all the works i use a hornady gun cleaner and dry lube. That will clean off that rust inhibitor. And they’ll leave a nice teflon lube on. The surfaces so everything will work. Nice and smoothly and I’ll also act as a rust inhibitor. Now using the dies like this is. Perfectly fine you can get nice accurate. Loads but if you really want to improve. The accuracy you really you’re going to create some match-grade ammunition you. Can make some modifications to these first modification is you get rid of this altogether and you replace it with. One of the match-grade dies usually you. Have a next size die at a full size die either one you can use to bump the. Shoulder down the full sized die i typically use when I’m when i have a. Brand new set of a box of cases they’ve. Been Never fired or if i have cases and then fired in another rifle I’ll use the. Full sized i also usually when I’m. Reloading for my ar-15 or semi-automatic. Rifle I’ll use my full size die too to. Help with the feeding mechanism for my. Bolt-action if i have some fire forms cases for my bolt-action I’ll use the. Next size die this will also allow you to bump the shoulder down if you need to essentially match-grade dies. Come with some instructions this is the. Match grade next sizing die comes with. Some extra decapping pins also you have. The option of either using the. Elliptical expander if you’re going to if you need the neck expanded slightly to make it easier to seat the bullet you can use this expander or you can just. Use the decapping piece for instance if. You are going to be sizing your. Neck down for a specific chamber you. Don’t want the expander to mess that up so you can just do the decapping by itself so you have the option you can use either one comes with several extra or a couple extra decapping pins in case. This one breaks you don’t have to replace the whole stem now you’ll notice. The stem is not the same as the zips. Spindle that comes with the custom. Grade dies the. The capping pen is adjusted by loosening. The lock knob here and then you can. Screw it in or out. Using the adjustment knob at the top and. If you can see that is coming out there i can and pull it back in a little bit. So i can adjust it to where i need it in order to properly define the case now. The other difference with the math grade. Dies so it allows you to select the size. Of how the neck of the case is sized for. Example if i take a fire form piece of. Brass this is fired in my Remington 700. If i measure this it comes out to 338. Thousandths know what i want to do with this the neck here I’m going to do the next sizing so. To leave the case alone as far as. Sizing it up or down but i do want to. Size the neck down by about mm well what. To do is you buy the appropriate. Bushings this one is three hundred thirty-six thousand so since the. The fire form neck is three hundred thirty-eight thousand i can buy the three and thirty-six thousand bushing so. That i can size the neck down to three. And thirty-six it will fit my chamber a. Little better what you do is you take the bushing there’s a thick side and a. Thin side you put it with the thick side down and you place that in your die. Then you replace the decapping stem. Now when i size this case it’ll size the. Neck down to 336 thousands and that will. Be just a couple thousandths off of the actual size of my chamber so it’ll it’ll. Fit my chamber a little better give me a more accurate load so that’s the match. Grade diets if you get the next sizing. Or a die or the full size die both of them will allow you to bump the shoulder down we’ll talk about bumping your shoulder down when i get to the loading for accuracy series of videos now i. Replace my sizing and decapping die with. A match grade die so I’ve improved my accuracy there i can also make some. Adjustments to the bullet seating die. Now you’ll notice that the adjustments. Down at the top here has fairly coarse threads so it’s not as easy to adjust. The bullet seating depth you know. Down in it by thousandths of an inch. It’s a little more difficult what i can. Do is i can replace this with a. Micrometer seeing’s down basically i. Screw this in and in place of my course. Threaded adjustments down and now what i have is a very fine threaded adjustment. Here it has a micrometer on it that. Allows me to measure exactly where my. Seating stem is or how far down the seating stem is so that i can repeat the. The depth for a particular bullet or for. A particular rifle particular load whatever i can use. These number don’t know if you can see those numbers on there on the. Video but they’re there trust me i can. See them just fine so now i have a much. More precise way of seating the bullet. Now the member of the seating stem. That’s in there the seating stem that comes with the die. Is good for just about any spire point. Bullet but laundry makes a specific. Seating stone for there a max bullets. The rifle they also have a seating. Stones for their ft x series the bullets. For handguns so if i remove the. Alignment sleeve i can replace the. Seating stone with a seating stone. That’s designed for the 308 a mac specifically let me pop that out here. And this one fits the a max bullet just. Perfectly so I’m going to replace the. Seating stand in the alignment sleeve. With that one and then replace my. Alignments down their line the sleeve rather put the spring back in there to. Hold it in. And there we go now I’ve got a seeding. Stem specifically for the bullet that I’m going to be using for my accuracy loads or my match grade loads. So there’s the custom grade dies or at. Least one of them that have been. Accurized basically they’ve been turned into match grade dies instead of just. The standard custom grade now a pair of. Custom grade dies will run about 45 50. Bucks the masquerade dies are about 45 50. Bucks by themselves so you can either. Buy the custom grade dies and then. Replace the seating and acara. Sizing and decapping die with a masquerade die for about 45 so you’re. Talking about 90 bucks there or you can. Buy just the custom grade seating die. For about $25 and buy the match grade. Die for 45 so you’ve got an investment. Of about 70 you can save yourself a little money i like to buy the set of custom grade dies so i have it the option of either using the custom grade. Die that came with the set if I’m just going to put some ammo together for. Plinking or if I’m going for accuracy then i can. I can use the match grade die so i like. To do both the micrometer bullet seeding. Stem will run about 25 dollars and the. Seeding stem for a max bullets is right. Around twelve dollars so you know you can spend as much or as little as you. Want on a set of dies but i usually go. All out when I’m creating my competition stuff. So that’s basically all there is to the. Quantity diet as you can see it’s more. Then just buying a set of dyes and using. Then there’s a lot of options with the. Hornady dyes that’s all for this video i. Hope you liked it maybe you can learn something if so please click the like. Button maybe even subscribe to my channel thanks for watching and happy. Reloading.

Hey thanks for stopping by and checking out this video today we’re taking a look at the frankfort arsenal tumbler and i. Gotta say this thing is impressive but this is not going to be a long time review i recently got this about two weeks ago so this is really like a first time use and comparison with what i. Started with which was this rock tumbler. Over here so you know you buy cheap you. Bag twice and i only started reloading about six months ago so this is my little champ and this did a lot of rounds but look at the damage to me having to pry open the lid and it’s. Really it’s not made for brass you know it’s made for kids and rocks so does it. Work yeah it worked really well and it still works just fine so hers right. Along it can rumble off the table so I’m. Gonna test that today and see if this one will do the same thing now this was. A scratch and dent open box model from. Amazon so i got it for about 30 bucks off and was a little disappointed. Because it was the first warehouse deal. I got from amazon that was actually missing parts and so i contacted amazon said hey they’re supposed to be steel. Pins in there, and they refunded me 40 bucks and was able to pick up some of. This that goes with it so overall i like. The fact that it has a timer that’ll shut off automatically know this thing. Let’s do a side-by-side sound comparison. First what we’re getting into this i used to have in the house and my wife was like what is that. And it’s really not that loud let’s turn. On this one that’s a lot louder. Quite the difference there but it doesn’t matter out here because I’ve got the air conditioner running to dehumidifier running and all that stuff so the biggest thing about this is big. It is huge and definitely made for the. Task of cleaning brass so really like in. The big bold construction of this i mean. It just feels like it’s gonna last forever nice grippy rubber inside of. Here and just the capacity alone i got a. Backup in camera to get this thing in frame the maximum capacity i could do in. The rock tumbler i was i could do little over actually about a 100 45 acp and it. Was really crowded so actually couldn’t even do this batch by itself i had to this is the last thing i washed in that. So today we’re going to oh and i weighed. This and did the math on it this is over a thousand cases of nine-millimeter we. Were just gonna dump that in and see how. It goes. Wow and oh i can’t believe that there is. Plenty of room to spare with about 1,100. Of those in there so for a cleaner i. Started using this lemme shine mixed. With a couple drops of dish soap that. Works except for when this goes in the. Water it starts to fizz and bubble it can build up pressure so you have to let. It sits for a while so I’m just going to. Go ahead and dump in this whole thing. Pigs and they came with a free sample of. This detergent so I’m just going to use this whole thing and see how it works on. This it looks like kind of the same material as the let me shine. And these pins are great and i like that. This has a way to rinse it out when. You’re done you can just dump it out. Water might actually need more water. That looks pretty good so nice mix and i. Just like to throw in just a little bit of dish soap so you don’t know if that. Soap is going to fizz it all it doesn’t. Look like it is so I’m just going to go. Ahead and seal this up and for fun we. Want to see what it looks like actually inside of it while it’s running, so we’re gonna throw a go pro in there and see. What it looks like on the inside good luck little go pro miss you. Let me go ahead mark on the feet anthony. Looks at all. Well i don’t have a better solution all. Right it’s getting dark out so I’m just gonna let this dry in the driveway well. It’s not the shiniest grass in the world but it works i might run it again with. The different cleaners and this media magnate certainly helps out to remove. Any remaining pins so thanks as always. For watching have a great day.
