  • Okay guys welcome to another video in today’s video I’m going to give you a. Four year three-year review on this. Awesome jacket this jacket is made by. Outdoor research and it’s called the furrow c jacket I’ve had this jacket. Like i said i don’t know exactly when i got it i got it in like the spring four. Years ago maybe and I’ve worn this. Is probably my most used most abused. Most useful jacket you can say so this. Is a soft shell a true soft shell so what. It is its an uninsulated windbreaker. With stretch that’s pretty much what it is it’s not waterproof which is a good. Think and I’ll explain in a second real. Quick it has it doesn’t have an over use. Of pockets, it has a pocket right here. And a pocket here and a pocket here. Pretty simple i don’t like jackets with. Like pockets here here and here because all that zipper and all that extra fabric it’s like if I’m not going to use a pockets why are they there so a. Real quick one talk about sizing I’m about six foot two i have a chest. Measurement maybe like 47 48 and this is. A 2x i think it’s the biggest size they make and it fits me really well the. Sleeves are a little long which i like because when i raise my hand as you can see they don’t ride way up it. Fits me i don’t even say snug but not. Loose it fits me perfect it allows me to wear you know a t-shirt and a hoodie. Maybe a fleece underneath this on top. And at the same time i can layer on top. And it does have drawstring at the bottom. Here which i never use just not a fan of it but if you want it you can cinch this. Up and kind of puff it up so you have a way of dead air to give it insulation. Now this jacket in and of itself doesn’t. Isn’t like insulative it doesn’t really have insulation in the form of like. Puffy dead air space like it’s not wool. It’s not please it’s not primaloft it’s not down so in that regard it’s not that. Warm but what this does is it blocks out. A lot of wind which wind is especially. In cold weather but almost in any weather more for me at least more than. Temperature the wind is what can really. Get you because you can have all the insulation in the world but it winds just coming in and blowing all that heat. Out from around your body you’re going cold the fabric i don’t know the exact. Weight of it’s not super thick it’s a. 4 ounce nylon i would say when you buy. This actually this is an older version, so they’ve updated it a couple times but. Everything wanna say about this jacket I’m confident in saying that the newer versions are just as good if not better. When you get it out of box it will feel. Very chintzy it’ll feel very light it’ll. Feel very weak ok and when i first got. This i got it on sale mail-order so i. Didn’t have a chance to try it on during the feel of fabric and when i first got. It oh i would say i was disappointed i was surprised at how lightweight it was. But let me tell you I’ve put this. Through first off this isn’t a work. Jacket with that being said I’ve worn it. As a work jacket I’ve done countless home repair. Projects countless you know outdoor jobs. Countless camping trips countless hiking. Trips fishing trips you name it and this. Has been there and it’s not showing any. Signs of we’re to the point of I’m kind. Of getting a little concerned because how could a fabric this thin this light. Just be so durable now is it possible. You could snag this and tear it i. Actually see no i had that concern. Because that’s why i don’t like lightweight fabrics because at least what i do branches and stuff getting caught on it and tearing it but this. Because it has that stretch and it’s a. Smooth fabric that isn’t doesn’t have a. Lot of snag points on it I’ve snagged. This before sort of and it just rubs off. Now i was before the video i was inspecting this jacket to see if there are any points of where and there’s some. Staining oil stains sap stains tar. Stains maybe some dirt stains so overall. This thing I’m going to coin it as. Apocalypse proof now that gone through the apocalypse with this but i would be totally more than confident to go. Through the apocalypse with this would be a great companion especially. For if you’d need to debug out or if. Some big long-term event happened and you needed to do work outside this thing. Is kind of protective layer like it. Protects your skin think of it as. Like a work glove but at the same time it offers wind protection now i want to. Talk about waterproof so this in a gore-tex this isn’t waterproof and it’s not claimed to be waterproof it’s claimed to be water resistant now i have. Found this is not water resistant whatsoever when i first got it actually maybe a little bit maybe it had a teflon. Coating there a uh yeah teflon i think. Through sustaining to resist water but this will readily. Soak water okay so I’m not claiming this. Is a lot of proof um this has gone through a wash i don’t fifty times or something like that so whatever water proofing was on here is washed off so it’s not. Waterproof and it will readily absorb water and then also because it’s not. That swishing material it’s kind of. Rougher material kind of canvas type. Material water wool won’t as. Easily run off of this but the main so. If I’m working outside in the rain I’ve. Tried gore-tex like gore-tex rain jacket and you just build up so much heat from. Working that you end up letting out from. Your sweat so I’ve made that sacrifice. It’s like you can either wet up from your sweat or you can wet out from water from the rain now working in this why. I’m calling this a piece of like work wear is because i can do anything and i can pretty much wear this in all seasons and not be uncomfortable but i can be. Doing whatever and because the fit because the sleeves aren’t super baggy. It’s not getting in the way how i tend to wear this actually is i. Pull the sleeves up and me personally if. I was designing like any work soft shell it actually gets a t-shirt variety because whenever I’m doing like actual work i have the sleeves pulled up so one. Think and maybe the neighbor versions have this probably not one thing I’d like to see is one of those buttons here like on a plaid button-up so you could. Roll it up and button it so you could. Take it on and off and the sleeves stay up now one thing i do like though which. Kind of goes against that is it doesn’t have buttons it doesn’t have zippers it doesn’t have like velcro around the. Sleeves especially in the wintertime. Velcro would just collect snow so i like. How clean the cuffs are moving to the. Lane another reason i like this is. Because it fits me well it’s not super. Baggy it fits me well but it’s long now. Then again the newer versions this is. Like a 2012-2013 design the newer. Versions might be cut different keep that in mind but the reason i like this one specifically is its long length so. It’s not overly long as you can see you. Now it goes maybe eight inches past my. Waist well it does not have pit zips the. Newer versions might with that being. Said with this type of fabric with this type of jacket i never found the need for pit zips because sometimes i wear this with a t-shirt and a problem i found with jackets with pit zips if you only have a t-shirt or tank top underneath is that zipper wear is on the inside of your arm. And it can cause discomfort so maybe. That’s why they didn’t include offensive but frankly this breathes so well you. Don’t need a pizza what a pizza is real quick is its pretty much as if you’re opening by your armpits which is pretty much your main source of perspiration air where you’re going to be sweating from and what i found is I’ve worn. This in temperatures from 70 degrees. Eighty degrees when i need something. Maybe working around spruce trees and i don’t want my forearms irritated but. I’ve worn this in 70 degree whether it’s not uncomfortable it’s just a t-shirt underneath and then i also wear this. Hiking cold-weather hiking I’ll wear. This down to zero degrees with a puffy. Or with a hoodie underneath and the only. Reason wearing this again is to block from that windchill effect overall i. Don’t want this to be a longer view frankly i just want it to be straight to the point this jacket long story short if you’re looking for a soft shell jacket that’s lightweight compact our lightweight packs down. Really small is very comfortable in a wide range of weather and is super. Durable and also really easy to work in. And not cumbersome and a host of other. Reasons that i can’t think of off the top of my head this is the jacket for you this is a true soft shop i have had other soft-shells in the past that are really thick very stiff do you just feel. Awkward and they’re not that warm and. They don’t provide that much wind blocking ability no this doesn’t offer. The best wind block ability there’s a. There’s a fine line between berthe. Readability and wind proof so if you. Have something 100% wind resistant it’s not going to agree that well if you have something 100 shot waterproof it’s not going to breathe whatsoever so this is a. You sacrifice a little wind blocking capabilities for a very breathable. Jacket so yeah long story short they. Have newer versions out and i would feel. Confident in recommending those even though i haven’t tried them I’m also going to leave with a link to get his tactical he has liked one at least one maybe two videos talking about this exact jacket and i pretty much can echo. Everything he said this is like my go-to. Jacket for a lot of stuff again it’s not. Insulated it’s not a like winter jacket. But it’s a nice layering piece and very. Comfortable it fits very well for all you found this helpful useful if you. Have any questions about this leave it in the comments below if you like this video give it a big thumbs up and like always go back to home page we’ll watch through my current videos if you like what you see feel free to subscribe we’ll catch you on the next video.

If you are looking for the do a tall lightweight soft shall check out the women’s outdoor research for rosy hooded. Jacket by now the four oc line has. Become so popular that there’s a lot of. Different versions but this one in particular has those technical features that you’re going to want on alpine pursuits while you’re backpacking climbing even paddling but it’s so. Comfortable and stretchy that you’re going to want to wear it every day let’s take a look at all the features the combination of fabrics is what makes this piece so special so on the. Shoulders here and the arms you’ve got cordura mixed with spandex now cordura. Is a very durable material and it can. Get heavy so what they’ve done is mix it with spandex to give you a lot of stretch for mobility but this is the. Part of the jacket that might come into contact with rope with your backpack. Straps if you’re paddling you’ll have a pfd and so in those high abrasion areas. They’ve really bolstered the durability the other fabric here is lighter weight. It’s breathable and it’s on the body and. The back of the jacket underneath of. Your arm as well so as you’re moving and you’re building up heat this material is going to breathe a little bit better it’s a ripstop nylon with spandex in it. As well so you have full mobility with. This jacket it stretches in every direction it’s not going to weigh you down because it’s so lightweight so you. Don’t have any insulation in here whatsoever and that makes it great for. Using all year round so in the winter. When it’s colder you can get some layers underneath of it but you can still stretch in this jacket and then in. Warmer temperatures it’s going to. Breathe really well so it’s the perfect piece to almost wear year-round the. Features here are really simple you have a full length zipper and down at the hem you have a stretchy draw cord that comes out to one side the hem is dropped in. The back so if you’re wearing a harness or a backpack with the hip belt it’s not going to ride up on you two hand level pockets so you can warm. Your hands in there or the jacket actually stuffs down into one of these. Pockets and there is a key clip on the inside the pockets here are actually. Mesh on the inside so if you open them up you actually have an extra vent so if you’re really moving fat and want to dump some extra heat open those pockets have another chest pocket and that’s. Great for something small like a chapstick now i really like the hood. Hoods give a lot of versatility if it’s. Really windy you can really protect your ears and this hood is simple and. Lightweight it’s stretchy enough that. You could probably get a helmet underneath of there but as you can see it fits really well just over my head and then you have adjust ability on both. Sides so you can cinch that down so when. You look side to side the hood isn’t going to blind you I’m wearing a size small right now and it fits me well I’m just wearing lightweight layers underneath of it but i think if i wanted. To get more layers for winter use and probably size up to the medium for a little bit more range of motion but the. Small is fitting me pretty well right now overall it’s easy to see why the fur oc. Collection is a fan favorite and this. Peace in particular has enough versatility that you can use it year-round and you can use it for pretty much any activity you throw at it the. Outdoor research women’s 4 oc hooded. Jacket thanks for watching if you have. Additional questions about the gear you just saw please feel free to visit sack country edge comm and get in touch with me or one of our other gear specialists. hi my name is charity and i work in product development at outdoor research and I’m here today to introduce you to the newest member of the froz collection the winner froz hoody the winner froz hoody is great because it has a stretchy durable fabric we know and love from the fro c collection combined with insulation and a brushed tricot lining for warmth and cuddliness it has a stand-up collar so you can keep. Your neck warm without putting your hood on it also has an adjustable hood for when you need to keep light rain or snow off your head it has two separate hand. Pockets an external zip chest pocket and an internal zip chest pocket for keeping your valuables safe it has elastic cuffs. And a draw cord hem so you don’t have to mess with the cuffs and you can seal out. The cold at the hem what’s great about the winter 4oc hoody is that it’s super warm you can still wear it around town but it has all the same durability and stretch of our beloved afro c collection that’s been around for years this is the fall 17 winter frosty hoodie from. Outdoor research

Auto research makes a very versatile. Collection of soft shell pieces called. Their fur oc collection and I’m wearing the frosty hoodie that is a piece of that collection this is a women’s specific piece there’s also a man’s hoodie as well and i kind of think of. This piece is the jacket that you’re going to get to do everything in it is. Soft shell and i just want you to see. That it is extremely thin there is no. Insulation to this whatsoever it’s not even backed by fleece you’ve just got saying that the material they use on this piece is a combination of cordura spandex and nylon and there’s a good amount of spandex in it so you’re definitely getting some crazy stretch i. Mean to the point where i feel like you could just kind of do somersaults and cartwheels and not be inhibited by this sort of material at all so it’s going to be fantastic for anybody who needs a lot of mobility maybe somebody who’s doing. Some cross-country skiing and warmer weather somebody who’s doing a lot of rock climbing and i think I’m just for general hiking and backpacking to be very comfortable piece to wear under a pack so some basic design features on. How the fro z was put together you can. See the two different colors here and that is kind of setup is. Two different types of fabric the body. Of this piece in the darker color across the back is extremely breathable so if. You’re wearing a pack against this you’re going to get a lot of moisture. Vapor passing through you’re not going to have that same feeling you get under a hard shell where you’re wearing a packer just sweating like crazy so you get some excellent breath ability this. Jacket is when resistant it is not windproof so you’re going to get some air moving to it but if you’re doing an aerobic activity that should be enough to keep your body temperature comfortable and cool especially on a day like today where it’s a little chilly out and I’ve got an extra layer underneath this is kind of perfect piece to wear over top of that just a. Couple of run throughs on some of the general pockets and that sort of thing you do have a full fitted hood so it’s. Designed to fit really close to the head i can get up just a cap underneath of it would probably fit under a helmet really well you’ve got adjustably on the. Sides here so it’s a nice video hood you’ve got a little pocket here on the arm. Which is nice for stowing small things you know like a chopstick or a me the keys to your car and then you do have two zippered hand pockets here on the bottom. You.

  • The durable yet lightweight marmot minimalist jacket offers full waterproof. Protection for anyone looking for a. Waterproof breathable shell to use in. Any season throughout the year you’ve got reliable gore-tex pack light. Fabric here so they keep the weight down. Because you have gore-tex it is breathable but in addition to that you. Have underarm zips for ventilation you. Have a fully adjustable hood that’s got. Lots of features there it even works. Over top of a climbing helmet and you’ve got a lot of other features throughout this piece to keep you comfortable in the back country let’s take a look at those features starting with the hood this might be my favorite feature about the jacket you have a lot of adjust ability in the hood so not only do. You have adjust ability around the top of your face and around this area but you. Have adjust ability in the back as well. This works really great just over top of. A hat or over top of your head but it’s. Big enough that it fits over a climbing helmet so this piece is gonna work well if your ice climbing if you’re mountaineering if you’re in chilly. Conditions where you need to layer underneath of it but you might need to. Wear a helmet in those conditions so i can cinch down the back here i can cinch. Down the front and there you’ve even got. Some stretchy material in there so that it cinches right where it needs to but. It doesn’t block your vision they have a stiffened brim on the outside of that. Hood so you can look around and it doesn’t block your vision at all this is. Great when you’re hiking you need to look around and you don’t want that to. Inhibit your vision it’s an annoying. Feature when you try and look around and you’re blinded by the side of your hood. So really functional hood lots of. Features in there to make it really technical now moving down the jacket you. Obviously have a full length zipper here and there’s even a soft fabric behind. Fabric there in the zipper so that it. Doesn’t chafe your chin if you have it all zipped up it has a little bit of a. Higher collar than some other jackets that I’ve seen so you can really cinch that down and protect your neck if. You’ve got lots of wind if you don’t actually need to use that hood you have. A nice storm flap in front of the zipper. And then you’ve got velcro tabs here. Along the zipper to keep that closed and. One small feature that’s easy to miss is you actually have a little gutter on the. Inside of that zipper so if any water. We’re to sneak its way in there it will get caught on there and run down the jacket so you’re completely protected. There in addition to the breathable gore-tex pack light material you’ve got. Underarm zips these vents are easy to. Use they’re nice and big so you can really vent that out if you’re wearing a backpack if you’re moving fast if you’re climbing you can open those up you still. Have all the protection you need but you can dump out all of that excess heat that isn’t able to escape through the fabrics down here on the sleeve you have. Really nice adjustable cuffs this is. Something i don’t see on a lot of lightweight pieces but if you’re wearing gloves with this you can put gloves over top or underneath then it works really well there now moving down you do have. Two pockets on the outside here you as well. Have a storm flap in front of those pockets, and they’re big enough to put. Something small like maybe a headlamp an. Extra granola bar or something like that if you need to protect your hands there. A nice hand warmer pocket as well if i. Move down towards the hem you can see the bottom of the zipper actually has a snap so that helps keep the storm flap. Over top of the zipper and helps protect. From water leaking in through the zipper on the hem you do have an adjustment so. You can cinch that down if you’re wearing a backpack with a hip belt or if you’re wearing a harness it’s gonna prevent the jacket from coming out at. The bottom and it’s gonna keep you nice and comfortable and protected from the. If you take a look at the inside of the jacket you can see that it’s completely seam taped completely seam sealed this. Is going to keep you completely dry and. You can be confident in that gore-tex pack white material i see this as being. Almost more of a chilly or cold weather. Piece when you might want to layer underneath of it when you’re gonna be in conditions where you need a durable. Fabric but you also want something. That’s lightweight enough and pack able enough so this isn’t in the ultra lightweight category of some of those very pack able rain jackets but it’s. A very minimalist so you can take it ices. Climbing you can take it mountaineering you can layer underneath of it and you. Can be confident that it’s going to keep you safe and dry when you’re in the outdoors it’s the marmot women’s minimalist jacket. You.

It’s been raining here for about a week we finally got a day that looks like it’s gonna be relatively dry, so we thought we’d go out for a hike and I’ve got on the marmot minimalist jacket and i just wanted to run you through some of the features of this great piece the minimalist jacket is made from a gore-tex pack light shall this is an. Extremely lightweight and extremely durable fabric it’s 100% waterproof with. Taped seams as well as being excellent for breath ability so it’s going to be a great piece to buy if you’re looking for rain wear to suit your round needs so the women’s minimalist jacket is has a. Cut that will allow you to layer a sweater or fleece or lightweight insulation under it but it’s not cut too bulky that if you’re wearing it like i am today we’re just a lightweight base. Layer underneath of it you still get a good fit out of it women’s minimalist jacket has a 1 wade full zippered front. To it with a snap to secure the bottom of the zipper at the bottom hem there. Are two hand draw cord adjustments which allow you to cinch the bottom in tight and keep out wind and rain you have adjustable velcro cuffs you’re doing the same thing sealing out wind and rain at the wrist for convenience there are two. Hand pockets there zippered and have. Velcro secured attachment on the outside they’re quite roomy it’s easy to stow. Items in there as well as warm your hands if it’s a chilly day for improved. Ventilation there is an under armpit upon this jacket and you’ll notice that it’s cut deeper into the body so it does some aggressive venting it’s a pizza. That’s easy to operate with one hand and it does have a double storm flap which really helps to keep wind and rain out of that fits up as well it’s very nice. Hood it’s not too roomy it’s not too small you could definitely fit a hat underneath of it and you’ve got three good adjustment points you can really adjust the fit so it fits you based on. The weather and your comfort range you’ve got two adjustment points on the outside here as well as a draw cord toggle on the back that when cinched in. Adjust that your peripheral vision as. Well as how far that broom is going to sit over top of your face true to its name the women’s minimalist jacket doesn’t have a lot of bells and whistles that’s going to weigh you down or take up a lot of space in your pack it’s got the features that you want to stay dry in inclement weather and it’s going to be the perfect partner on any wet weather hiking trip.

I’m wearing the marmot minimalist jacket despite the name this thing gives maximum waterproof protection at an. Average weight of right around 15 ounces this jacket is a tried-and-true shell. That’s great for year-round adventuring. It’s made from 100% recycled polyester. Materials and features gore-tex pack. Light gore-tex is guaranteed to keep you dry and the seam taping throughout the entire jacket bolsters this protection. The jackets also treated with a pfc free. Water resistant finish to help shed moisture even better the jacket has. Plenty of other goodies going on the main zipper is protected by a storm flap. And has a snap and velcro closure at the. Bottom in the top there are two hand level pockets with zippers and a. Water-resistant chest pocket with a. Zipper as well the hood is adjustable so. You can get the best possible fit you’ll find asymmetric velcro cuffs and a draw. Cord hem to cinch things down this. Jacket is a regular fit but i find it to have a slightly more generous cut it’s meant to be worn over a few layers so. You get a bit of space here for that i am wearing a medium which is not my normal size normally i take a large so this one feels a bit short and tight in. The back on me but a large would be perfect you do get extra fabric built. Into the back as well and a marmot calls this their angel wing movement so you get good freedom to move in the jacket overall this jacket is great for all. Season all year use gore-tex performance. In a simplified package at a price that’s not outrageous is all part of the. Game this is the marmot minimalist. Jacket call us with your questions or. I’m wearing the marmot men’s minimalist jacket it’s a lightweight and durable. Outer shell made with a gore-tex pack. Light waterproof breathable membrane it’s a go-to shelf or when the harshest. Weather approaches let’s take a closer look the fabrics in play with this. Jacket is a nice durable shell fabric with a gore-tex pack light waterproof. Breathable membrane now wet materials. Can really make you uncomfortable and rob you of a good back country experience gore-tex products are. Guaranteed to keep you dry there are highly breathable highly durable materials, and they’re guaranteeing that you will stay dry and comfortable in the. Backcountry so really nice fabric there. It’s also very lightweight this jacket only weighs in about 15 ounces so with. That lightweight gore-tex and that durable outer shell you’re sure to have a reliable jacket checking out some of. The features on this jacket we’ve got a full length zipper on the front with a. Storm flap and at the bottom of that storm flap there’s actually a really nice snap closure so it’ll keep that. Flap dry and closed in the event that. The rain is really coming down you’ve got a chest napoleon pocket with water. Resistant zipper, so we’ve got really nice easy access to items if you need to. Get them quickly you’ve got two zippered. Hand pockets with a velcro closure and. That velcro closure is going to provide. Some extra weather protection looking at the cuffs here we’ve got a velcro adjustment so you can cinch those cuffs. Down in the event that you want a more snug fit or if you want to put a glove over the jacket provides a nice seamless. Integration there under the arms we do. Have pit zips which occasionally if you’re moving fast you’ll generate some. Body heat and you’ll need some extra ventilation pit zips are really good for dumping that extra body heat but the way they’re positioned they still keep you dry so it’s a really nice feature there as well you’ve got dual hem adjustments. So on either side of the jacket there is a hem draw cord so you can cinch that down it’s not going to ride up if you’re wearing a backpack or a harness of any. Sort you’ve got a helmet compatible hood which offers some really nice features. Alone we’ve got a really cool kind of shaped brim really gives it some structure and stability so it sticks out. It’s a really nice hood with great features there so this jacket is a regular fit so it’s a relatively loose. Cut it’s not very athletically tailored I’ve got plenty of room to layer underneath I’m wearing a medium i normally wear mediums so this jacket fits me very well it’s also got marmots. Angel wing movement so in the shoulders and in the arms you’ve got a lot of mobility and it’s not restricting in any. Way so you won’t feel like the jacket is holding you back from you know a technical climb or any type of movement out on the trail so overall great fit. Plenty of room for layers so there you. Have it’s the marmot men’s minimalist. Jacket it’s a go-to piece for all season. Use providing dependable waterproof. Breathable protection. You. You.

Hey guys could be here and today i wanted to talk about and do a bit a. Review on my semi new rain jacket auto. Shell jacket soft shell whatever it is you want to call it and that is the it moment minimalist gore-tex jacket. So i picked it up about three months ago just before my shop — tazzy seeing as my. Old moment super meeker was kind of near nearing the end of its lifespan and my. Other rain jacket which was my old army. Parker was a little bit big a little bit. Heavier and just didn’t kinda do’t kind of want to bring it along so i picked this one up for $160 australian which as you know for a gore-tex jacket. You don’t see too often it was on a bit of a sale so i didn’t get quite lucky i think it retails normally for about 200. 250 maybe australian in the local stores. But definitely have a look around there. Quite often on sale about this jacket it. Weighs about 400 grams or 15 ounces i. Think it is this is the large size i am 82 kilos and 182 ish centimeters tall. And it is quite big for me but that’s the idea i did buy as an outer shell. Type setup so i can wear my down jacket underneath or even just my icebreaker. Merino or just a shirt and not have it. On too tight so you know i bought it with the intention to have as an outer layer for stuff definitely if you’re buying it to wear more fashionably or. You don’t plan to layer up in it, and they are pretty true to size i could definitely fit a medium quite comfortably but then wearing a down jacket underneath would have been a bit of an issue features of this jacket so. Starting with the pockets i don’t know as you can see, but they’ve got two side pockets covered up and put a little bit of velcro / ticking a zipper they’re. Gore-tex there so you’ve got one on either side you’ve also got a breast. Pocket here just again completely gore-tex good easy access for your. Phone or something like that or even a camera and you know it’s going to stay waterproof in now you’ve got pit zips as well again on either side they are quite generous i do use them quite often i want to mind them being a little bit bigger they do. An okay job usually what i have to do is. Kind of I’m getting quite hot maybe just make sure they kind of spread open like so and get a little bit of air in there and that will start the cooling process a little bit more you do have velcro on the cuffs I’ve. Been Never a big fan of velcro on the. Cuffs i do find especially say with this one. They are quite small and i do have a. Feeling they’re going to not work too well they’re already not working overly great so i don’t use them too. Much but i would have preferred maybe a more bungy quad type setup like you have here on the hood so the wood works quiet. Well even if i is everything up nice and. Tight you can see i can be fully protected and i can move my head around and the hood and everything follows. There’s nothing worse than having hood wear which does that kind of movement so. Everything there is adjustable and you can make it nice and tight or you can have a quite loose again maybe you should wear something a little bit thicker on the head or what have you the. Readability of this jacket is pretty good i have worked out in it i did use. It in tazi for hiking not only during when it was quite misty and rainy but. Also when it was quite windy there’s a. Catch-22 you can have a jacket which breathes really well or you can have a jacket which retains heat and is. More wind proof so this one is probably catered a little bit more towards breathing a little bit better i definitely found that when there was a. Strong wind it kept the wind away from. Me but it wasn’t as warm as say some other jackets but again i layer for that. So i want this to be reasonably wind proof i want it to be definitely waterproof which it is and i want to rather breathe and really well i can easily layer on stuff if i. Get too cold but say if it’s raining and I’m getting too hot then that becomes quite an issue so a jacket which breathes really well keeps me dry it is quite important in saying that the. Tyrael is quite food in terms of beating. The water off and that’s going to be really important because once it stops. Feeding the material soaks through and even though it will maintain it’ll stay. Waterproof because of the gore-tex what happens is it gets a little bit heavier but the biggest problem it doesn’t breathe as well so that kind of stops that layer from letting the young from the heat escapes so that’s kind of. Been a little bit of an issue lately and. However that’s a simple fix with the wash and some treatment there’re five instructions on how to do that and it is quite easy to do it’s just one. Of those things which no matter what jacket you have especially gore-tex. You need to do so i don’t hold it against this jacket it’s just regular. Maintenance for 160 bucks. Not a bad jacket at all definitely something that i enjoy wearing around town as much as i wear worrying out. Camping or what-have-you it’s a great-looking jacket i love the color i love the fit definitely if you. Can find one for that kind of price i definitely 100% recommend it so thanks. For watching guys if you do have any further questions feel free to ask and if you’ve got something out of this video please give me the thumbs up it really helps and motivates me to make more videos thanks for watching.

Put the hood there is one draw cord that goes over the rim of the hood to cinch it down around your face there’s also another draw cord on the back of the hood to keep it out of your field of vision at the sides speaking of visibility the top of the. Hood is slightly more rigid than the rest just to keep it out-of-the-way now. Let’s get into the technical details the. Jacket is constructed with one of our favorite lightweight fabrics gore-tex pack lights technology weighing in at. 3.6 ounces per yard what this means is. That this jacket is extremely light and pack able while still remaining waterproof we can pack this up too well. Under a liter or roughly the. Size of a standard 32 ounce nalgene. Bottle marmot also employs their angel. Wing movement system in this jacket unique to the brand this size small that. The model is holding with only 15 ounces overall this jacket. Is a great all-around option for casual use but fully suitable for camping hiking traveling and canoeing the low. Weight and compact ability make it good for lightweight trips if you happen to.
