La Sportiva Nepal Cube GTX Mountaineering Boot - Men's
The La Sportiva Men's Nepal Cube GTX Mountaineering Boot isn't just for the high-minded alpine adventurers amongst us. New this season, the Nepal Cube takes a lighter approach to versatile warmth in a mountaineering boot than its older sibling, the Nepal Evo GTX. While both boots use Gore-Tex to guarantee your foot's dry ride, the Cube loses a full four ounces without taking away any warmth or capability. Whether you're summiting the Grand (Teton, that is), performing telecom magic in the middle of winter, or trekking high and low over many miles, this leather boot gives you a dry and flexible ride.
Rugged Idro-Perwanger leather gets shot full of 3.2mm silicone to create a robustly water-resistant and flexible outer. An air-injected rubber rand creates a durable connection between the top and bottom of this technical boot. Laces tease your toes and weave their way up the boot through locking D rings to help the boot keep a firm grip on your foot. The Gore-Tex Insulated Comfort lining does more than guarantee waterproof and breathable kicking; it adds heat to your hoofers so hiking across snow-covered flats doesn't turn your toes into icicles. In addition, the 4mm Carbon Tech honeycomb footbed uses air to further insulate your foot without adding weight to keep you high-stepping for hours on end.
This tongue lets fresh air refresh your ankles while giving you the option to customize the boot fit with a removable piece. The 3D Flex tech improves your stability over contorted terrain. The graded polyurethane midsole starts at a whopping 2mm thick in the heel and tapers into a whisper of plastic by the time it reaches your toes. The Impact Brake System turns hard-wearing Vibram into directionally opposed lugs to give your footsteps traction on the way up and the way down.
Mammut Hueco Low LTH Shoe - Men's
The Men's Hueco Low LTH Shoe is the lightest, slimmest shoe in Mammut's Hueco collection, and is most ideal for easier approaches or casual use. Its leather upper has a soft-yet-durable feel, and the textile lining adds breathable comfort on the trail. Mammut made the Hueco's sole out of Michelin rubber, the very same rubber cars use to maintain traction on rainy roads.
Scarpa Zen Pro Shoe - Men's
When Scarpa decided to upgrade the wildly popular Zen, it looked at every aspect of the shoe and found ways to make it better. The result is the new and improved Men's Zen Pro Hiking Shoe. The suede upper has been upgraded with PU-injected reinforcing for improved abrasion-resistance. The cushy EVA midsole is now injected for longer life. The Vibram sole has been upgraded to the Spyder 2, which still offers great stick, but won't pick up pebbles and gravel. Even the fit has been upgraded with Scarpa's Sock-Fit DV system for the feel of a running shoe but the sensitivity of an approach shoe. Add to that a durable rubber toe rand, P-Flex footbed, and moisture-wicking Cocona lining, and it's easy to see how all these upgrades will enhance your next climbing experience.
Arc'teryx Acrux SL Leather Approach Shoe - Men's
When tackling mountainous terrain, you can count on the Arc'teryx Men's Acrux SL Leather Approach Shoe to ensure precise footing and adaptive support, without feeling like you have lead weights attached to your feet. Touting that same minimalist and highly technical design you've come to know and love from Arc'teryx, the Acrux SL Leather Approach Shoe allows you to put your best foot forward with its seamless thermo-laminated upper and subtly aggressive outsole.
To differentiate itself from the rest of the Acrux SL line up, this shoe features a leather upper that is not only durable, lightweight, and hydrophobic, but also prevents pressure points and hot spots. The Adaptive Fit Liner consists of a non-removable, internal stretch liner that promotes ample breathability and surrounds the foot for a sock-like fit and feel. Additionally, the Ortholite footbed and EVA midsole deliver arch support, shock attenuation, and day-long comfort. The laminated heel and toe cap bolsters your defense against trail-side rocks or roots. A Y-Groove split heel is designed to improve your footing when trekking through loose terrain, which further advocates for the use of this shoe in diverse conditions. The Vibram Arc'teryx Light Approach sole features sticky climbing zone and smearing inserts for unimpeded grip, and the mountaineering heel tread to assure traction when you need it most.

Arc'teryx Acrux SL Approach Shoe - Men's
As you might expect, the Arc'teryx Men's Acrux SL Approach Shoe features a relatively simple design that delivers the performance needed to withstand heavy use in abrasive mountain environments. Ridiculously light, the Acrux SL weighs a feathery ten ounces per shoe, making it the ideal approach shoe when every ounce counts. Like all Arc'teryx footwear, the Acrux SL has an unconventional construction that consists of a seamless, water-resistant upper, abrasion-resistant overlays, and an integrated rubber toe cap to keep the shoe intact when faced with rocky ridges, boulder-strewn approaches, and trails littered with roots and downed logs. The Acrux also has an air permeable liner that makes the shoe more suitable for hot and dry mid-summer objectives, so you can splash through puddles and conquer hot and dusty trails with confidence.

Helping people live lives better every. Single day we are camping gear tv com I'm your host bed I'm joshed what this is always is gary go and like you've always. Said latest and greatest an outdoor gear and i kind of always think that some of. The staples tent backpacks hiking boots. Yeah or making shoes yeah we're looking. At one of those today yeah we've looked at a lot of hiking boots in the past and you know a few months ago we were looking at our calendar come on boo it said let's try and take a look at some more shoes so you're going to see some more hiking shoe episodes coming up. Because we know a lot of people hiking backpack and shoes and don't wear boots, and so we said you know what let's look at some good shoes out there and the. Vast jux j u xt this is the men's just. Hiking shoe is not only good for hiking. But it's just good for kind of all-around stuff right very attractive good-looking shoe the awesome I've been. Wearing it to the gym going around town going to bars passing out in alleys as well. Hiking and backpacking okay use it for a good amount of that and i found it to. Work very well i did some you know minor. Rock climbing type stuff with it you know just kind of like scaling up racks and stuff and huge boulders i don't you call that bouldering maybe you do i don't know if that really they don't add that to my list of experience when you go to the bouldering alley yeah they're exactly right yeah so i found it in. Those situations that the traction the grip on these was suitable up to the. Task liked it i find the shoes to fit my. Feet well they've got a rather high arching them i have high arch so if. Your somebody with a little bit of a higher arch this is probably a good shoot for you if your somebody with flat duck feet you know probably not the. Shoe for you right because this thing features there arc tempo last we've. Talked about this before we've looked at a lot of bass shoes in the past then and i really the vast brand yeah we really like there. Boots the taco gtx the will such very. Nice boots yep yeah ben's been supporting them for years and years on my favorite food companies yeah, and they're there arc tempo last is the last. That they used in a lot of their shoes and boots which promotes quickness and agility over technical ground which is. Great for this shoe because i would i think the right classification for. This is kind of like a light hiker right agree for quick hikes on somewhat. Technical trails which is exactly what i used it for and found it to work. Perfectly for my uses what i like when. It's in warmer weather yeah more climates you know i don't want a huge boobed about halfway up my leg i want something that's more of a lower profile yeah and you know because in again to it. Also depends on you say like hiker rad you're also thinking about the amount of weight that york area you know if you're not caring you know everything including the kitchen sink there's no need to have some massive boot that you can use to like knock over a wall with right want some through you can almost i mean you could almost take these out to go jogging you know yeah same time yeah no doubt about guys like football in the park with them or something i know that's right good buddy yeah that's right so a couple other things about the last that our tempo last again really made for you know an athletic fit for. Shorter distance lightweight technical trails that kind of stuff a symmetrical. Curve which i said great for high arches okay and as we talked about in previous. Episodes places your foot in a more. Powerful position during total are. Usually when I'm having a lot more aggressive hiking on technical trails that's really a good feature to have. Tapered toe box gives you a lot of room which is you know which is absolutely. True my feet never think they're all cramped up in half do you see what I'm doing over your get spinning it around but quick do you see it's like it's getting every angle 10 of the shoe so. That everybody I'm just saying good doing my part / he really good really good yep so it's like i. Said got good traction on the bottom it. Features the off-the-grid outsole right. A special vast outsole and yeah durable. Grippy sticky that's what they say good stuff during p you played in the mid-foot protects from protrusions uneven terrain without adding. Unnecessary weight and with some of the. Terrain i was hiking on it i was dealing. With rach protrusions on the trail right and there's there was very little even. Ground to walk on it was constantly on rocks you know that feeling when you're walking on rocks and you're always like looking for a flat wrap the strap on and. Then sometimes just because you're moving fast on the trail you end up. Having to step on one that's just like jutting out of the ground like a freaking knife and it's true that. The construction of the shoe kind of. Softens the blow of those intruding well it seems like the soul the whole shoes like squishy in the sense that they have some rubber padding yeah hits it's. Nice you know instead of it being solid yeah just like jarring the pressure up three out of legs yeah so it's got really good flexibility as you can see which will go a long way towards you. No fast technical trails alright and. Some other stuff about it's got a. Suede and polyurethane coated leather upper right very nice attractive very. Nice looking shoes is it waterproof you probably know it's not it's not not no so there's no cortex or any of it owe you. Know what it says waterproof on the thing here yeah okay i don't know why i didn't i don't have it in my notes though because they had another there. Was a separate there was a just something or another that was discontinued at some point that was with. Gore-tex but obviously this says waterproof so i guess it is i didn't really test it for that purpose though interesting thing about that though is that I've never found my feet to be you. No getting sweaty i found these to be fairly breathable while i was using them. Was working up a good sweat you know a lot of times with water for boots sometimes people say that you know they find them to be not the most breathable. For obvious reasons and i didn't have that problem with these they worked very well so it's got a molded rubber toe cap. Here right so it's going to last longer time isn't banging up against them you know the shoes not going to fall apart at the toe cap dual-density ev a footbed. Molded ev a mid sole with tpu plate wow. There you go so lots of good stuff here. If you're looking for a nice light hiker. That maybe you want to bum around town into and very attractive-looking i would. Think this is one to look into right so go to your local store try it on see if. It makes sense for you this cost ninety dollars I'm drawn to the attractiveness of the ship i like it too it looks like it looks like a cross-trainer sneaker romo yeah and the color the it's. Like you know this set of gray's with. These green highlights yeah it's just. Really nice looking shoe it looks like something that when i see it on the stand i have to have it no it's very. Nice shoe for sure go to best come to check out more about it can't go wrong. Yeah any other shoes really great you're not going to go wrong I've actually if i can be so honest is to say I've recommended vasc recently to two. Garmont Dragontail LT Approach Shoe - Men's
Garmont designed the Men's Dragontail LT Approach Shoe for climbers carrying heavy loads over technical terrain on dirt, rock, and mixed. Vibram rubber ensures traction on classic approach trails to far away multi-pitches, and there are semi-blocked sections at the arch and heel. Garmont designed the FrameFlex Light insole with enhanced stability and support required for carrying heavy loads to far places.
The iconic garment woman's dragon tail. Lt gore-tex approach shoes are ready for. Whatever you have in store they're versatile enough for hiking, but they perform really well when scrambling on. Rocks to approach your climb let's start. With the bottom the point of contact with the ground garma created a shoe that will work well. On technical rock mixed terrain approaches scrambling and even light. Hiking so the outsole is really meant to. Do it all it's made of tried-and-true vibram it's thinki enough for rock but. It's durable enough for long miles so it won't break down as quickly as some. Other types of softer sticky rubber that. You might find on approach shoes or even climbing shoes back here you've got a. Blocked heel strike area and the same. Blocking on the medial forefoot that's. For edging so all the while they give you a lug pattern in between that's perfect for hiking on those dirt trails. You're sure to encounter some rocks and. Some loose gravel so these lugs are. Going to keep you on the trail and make sure that you're sure-footed you can see three different colors in the mid sole. Grey yellow and red and that's not just. For look the grey part is a medium. Density so that gives cushioning and comfort and you can see it goes all the way around to the other side now the yellow part in the back is firmer so. That gives more stability where you need it in the heel and then the red part up front is densest and the most. Durable this is kind of what i call the. Climbing zone of the shoe and you're going to want densest material up. There mixed with what you have on the. Outsold the red dense part of the. Midsole really gives support you don't. Want your toes to flex too much and. That's going to give all the support you need for edging as you approach your climb on top of all of that you do have. A soft footbed it's removable. Just take it out here and show it. Definitely provides a lot of cushioning there's denser material here than. I've seen on some other removable. Footed and i think what they tried to do is give a nice soft place for your feet to land be kind of you have such a. Rigid mid sole on those long miles those. Heights this is going to keep you a little bit more comfortable the climbing. Style lacing is great for dialing in the. Tightness you prefer over different parts of your approach so leave them a little bit looser when you start hiking. But then when the hike starts to get more technical you can adjust those laces all the way down to the toes you. Can see the laces are kind of asymmetrical here and garmin actually built this entire shoe to mimic the. Natural asymmetry of your foot it's. Called they're anatomically directed design or abd this really cuts down on. Open space in the shoe that could lead to rubbing or blisters that mixed with. The lacing and this heel lock in the. Back will actually ensure a really good snug fit all day long also so wrap. Around so rand here in the front reduces the impact of kick rocks and roots and. Really protects those toes this is a gore-tex shoe as the name suggests so. It's going to keep out water so long as. That water doesn't come up over the top of the shoe the outsole in general is. Constructed of a few different materials but overall it's a really durable suede. That suede is going to last a long time. When you're encountering sharp rocks going to show some wear and tear and. That's why they're using such a durable material they've got overlays here but. Then they have some other kind of textile materials synthetic materials. Around the heel that you can really snug in and then again you have that rand because all the way around so that protects the suede even more and you've. Got the same material in the back overall the fit is pretty narrow these. Are approach shoes climbing style shoes. So they do want to give you a nice snug fit especially up here in the toe box. Again you can adjust the lacing for more. Comfort but if you're not used to approach style or climbing style shoes if you're just used to hiking shoes they're going to seem pretty narrow but. They're kind of meant to do that they're meant to be able to snug down and give you a tight fit all throughout the shoe with the features here you're getting a. Durable reliable shoe for all different. Types of turing's there's a garment women dragon tail lp gore-tex shoes. Thanks for watching if you have.
