Ortovox Piz Bianco Insulated Jacket – Men’s

Taking its trust in wool outside of the limits of a baselayer, Ortovox implements wool in some way or another into every one of its garments. The Piz Bianco Insulated Jacket utilizes the temperature-regulating benefits of Swiss wool in an insulating layer that can be worn on its own or under a shell. The Swiss Virgin wool insulation helps regulate your body temperature while transporting moisture away from your body, making it ideal for aerobic activities in cold and high environments commonplace to ski mountaineering and alpine touring. Ortovox updated the Piz this season with a merino wool lining to enhance temperature regulation, moisture management, and breathability. The nylon micro ripstop shell readily resists tearing, and it is fitted with a water-resistant membrane to protect from moisture. Its ergonomic fit helps to insulate and allows you wear a shell over this jacket when the weather turns foul.

  • Wool insulator designed for alpinism and mountaineering
  • SwissWool gives light warmth, moisture management, and breathability
  • Merino wool lining enhances temperature regulation
  • Windproof shell resists snowfall, light moisture, and abrasion

  • I’m wearing the patagonia women’s down sweater vest this is an extremely great efficient. Layering piece you can wear it as an. Outer layer like I’m wearing it right now on just chilly days when you need that extra added warmth in your core or you can use it in a layering system to. Be just a really nice warm layer that’s. Closer to your body when you’re wearing shells over top of it the standout feature here is that patagonia is using 800 fill power goose. Down and that down is traceable down. Which means that each plume of down can. We traced back to birds that were never live-plucked and never force-fed so you can be comfortable wearing this piece. Knowing where it came from the material. On the outside the space fabric is 100% recycled polyester rip stop material you. Do have a durable water repellent finish on the outside so while this isn’t waterproof water is gonna beat up and run off of it so you’ve got protection there that fabric is 30 down year by. 2010 year so it has a lot of wind proof. Properties as well so this is gonna be a great wind barrier and it’s just a really comfortable piece so going through the features you’ve got a full length zipper on the bottom hem that you. Do have an adjustment there on both. Sides that adjustment comes up through. The pocket so when you cinch that down you don’t have that cord hanging down so. That’s a small attention to detail that makes a big difference you do have an interior chest pocket so. That makes it really nice there’s a double zipper on that pocket so you can actually stuff this vest down into that. Pocket it’s really stow able it’s really. Lightweight so you can clip it to a harness clip it to a backpack or just throw it in your backpack if you’re not using it and you want to store it away it’s so lightweight that you don’t notice it’s there but it provides a lot of warmth in your core when you need it the arm openings are really comfortable. You’ve got a lot of stretch there around. The arms and it flatter cut so you can definitely wear this downtown you can wear it into. The back country you can use it in a multitude of adventures right now I’m wearing is small and it fits me really well its fits pretty tight here so if i. Wanted to get any more layers underneath of it i probably size up to a medium I’m. Just wearing a better sweater under it right now and with the front hand. Pockets here you’ve just gotten nice. Hand warmer pockets for chilly hands and this piece is just great in so many. Different conditions it is the women’s patagonia down sweater vest.

hey there folks welcome back to the Moose Jaw Shopping Network now fellas you need a good Down Vest everybody knows that and that means that you need the Patagonia down the sweater vest the

Hey everybody says you’re nine fingers buddy james garner with another edition. Of outdoor gear tv.com I’m spending. Christmas in northern new mexico you can probably see behind me snow starting to. Roll in i have taos about 20 miles to the west of me just very blessed to be. With my family as we celebrate the christmas season and blessed to be able. To do some episodes and review some gear so let’s get right into it today. I’m going to be reviewing the down vest by patagonia as you can see I’ve got it. On here it’s got a killer color i really one of the things i like about it most is the color it is their sweater down. Vest it’s made with 800 goose down feel. 800 you know goose feel whatever you want to call it and a couple other. Things that i like about it has a durable water repellent finish on the. Outside that’s water repellent and wind resistant so you’re not as concerned about jumping out of the tent at night when it’s drizzling or coming from your. Truck to the slopes when it’s snowing i. Really like to wear it underneath my soft shell if it’s real cold outside i put it under my soft shell from in the back country or from I’m snowboarding or riding or skiing obviously it’s great to. Wear it around town when it’s cold below freezing when it’s windy I’m a big fan. Of it because i don’t really like to wear sleeves unless it’s just really cold outside I’ll just put this vest on. And it keeps my core warm yet I’m not. Too hot one thing that I’ve noticed as I’ve worn this the past month anywhere from 20 degrees upwards to 4045. Degrees and wind is that the temperature range it keeps my temperature at a nice. Medium so i can be outside and then go. Inside and don’t have to take it off so it adjusts real nicely i don’t know if that’s just they made it that way or I’m just dreaming that but that’s another reason that I’ve enjoyed wearing the vest the colors cool the repellent finish the school got pockets here one other neat thing that it does is it packs into itself and let’s see if i can show you that real quick. You just hang with me it’s got a pocket. On the inside you can see that they’ll. Pack right into itself so you just. Start stuffing this dude into itself. Like this and obviously it’s down so it. Packs down very small. Most of these down vest have some sort. Of pocket that will pack itself down. Into it and as does patagonia so packs. Down real small hang with me here guys. So i get it down into itself and that’s. All she wrote back down into its own. Pocket almost got it. Okay I’m gonna have to put fast-forward. On the video on this and there it is packs right down to its own little. Pocket about the size of a hand the one with no finger and us to have a little d. Clip here so you can clip it on the outside of whatever stuff it down in your pack so cool features repellent. Finish really like the color it’s real sharp it’s real good with regulating your temperature that I’ve noticed from anywhere from 20 degrees to 60 degrees. To going in and out of a vehicle or going in and out of your tent it’s as well. Like you’re just wearing a sleeping bag so it’s so comfy real company and cozy i. Really like that aspect of it anyway. So lots of positive features about the only negative that i could pick out is that for me for my size this is a medium. We have a very big guy but you know it’s its a little bit large around my girth. Area but for just kicking around town i. Think that’s the only negative I’ve come up with i would like to see it fit just a little bit tighter maybe i just need a small so I’ll make sure it fits you right but this size for me I’m diggin it so the patagonia sweater vest i thought sweater vest all the vests I’m gonna give this a solid seven. Finger rating and so it’s about $150 so. They’re not cheap but it’s gonna last downs pretty sweet and awesome so i hope everybody is just having a wonderful merry Christmas and have has a. Happy new year’s to james for outdoor. Gear tv.com.

Hi this is craig geology with review of the mountain hardwear ghost whisperer hooded down jacket for pro like here calm i would put this jacket up against. The patagonia ultralight down hoody but. I like this jacket better for the following reasons number one it’s lighter weight and number two it uses a more intelligent or a higher performance. Baffle design than the ultralight down hoody from patagonia and it’s got a what. I feel is a better design around the. Neck area for a hooded jacket let’s tell you a little bit about this jacket comes in 7.9 ounces or 223. Grams I’m wearing a size medium the size. Large was cut a little big for me it’s filled with two point eight ounces of 850 fill power q shields a hydrophobic. Down q shield is similar to the sierra. Designs dry down they’ve talked about earlier it’s where they take each individual plume, and they treat the. Plume with a dwr durable water repellent. To make it hydrophobic so that the balloon or the plume can withstand the. Presence of moisture and not collapse you know down works by when it’s inside a baffle it’s the loft or the. Springiness of those individual down plumes that create the dead air space inside these baffles i haven’t played. Around a lot with the q shield so i look. Forward to testing that out a little bit more in the future and kind of validating just how well it works and. Some other things about this jacket it’s using their whisper or fabric which is a seven janiero by changing your fabric it’s a really lightweight fabric and. It’s kind of just a really nice hand — it’s very compressible the baffle design this is using about a 1.4 inch. One point three six inches sized baffle so. A good baffle it’s a uniform baffle. Versus some of the other products up here that are using these variegated. Baffle designs the draw cord it’s a very. Small draw cord in the waist but it does have a draw cord for the waste it’s a hidden draw cord it does have two. Zippered pockets on it. And what i like about this jacket is when you zip it all the way up it. Creates a nice tight fit around the neck helps seal off that neck area, and we. Noticed that when we’re looking at these jackets underneath the ar with the flir thermal imaging camera that this jacket. The hooded jacket sometimes when you zip them all the way up they still leave a bit of room around the neck and you can. See that the heat escaping through the neck on hooded jacket, so they all work. Pretty well once you put the hood up it’s when you just have them fully zipped up with the hood down that we can tell a difference so i really like this and it just uses a standard kind of. Stretch binding in the cuff but it’s a. Little bit loose fitting that’s the only thing i might say about this jacket is the cuff could fit a little bit. Tighter so that wraps up the review of. The mountain hardwear ghost whisperer. Down hooded jacket it’s a jacket that i. Really like it works well as a layering. Piece for a mid layer but also you can wear this standalone as an exterior piece as well just a great jacket for. $350 from mountain hardwear thank you for watching our videos thank you for subscribing to our channel and stay tuned to this channel for more videos in the future.

  • Hi this is brown of pro-leg gear and. Today we are we talking about the mountain equipment rondon a glove this is a new one from mountain equipment beautiful design on these as well now there’s a shoulder dry skin extreme on the back of. The hand on the palm this is petard. Armor tan leather they make several. Different grades of the petard it’s still goat skin still very soft very supple yet very durable and water-resistant by grain of the leather this is just a little bit tougher and stronger than there aren’t than their oil tack whether they use on the really grippy climbing gloves it shares the. Three part thumb with the super alpine. Glove it’s got the snot wipe on the. Bottom of the thumb so you can kind of you know suck back some snot when you’re on the lift or when you’re touring somewhere sure low dry skin extreme there and then the leather going across the front of the thumb so it’s still very dexterous on the inside of the glove there’s this wonderful pile lining it’s almost like sticking your hand in a rabbit glove like rabbit lion glove it’s just a super soft feeling teflon. Reinforced new-school hook and loop velcro cuff incredibly warm incredibly. Comfortable these would be for me good. Down to zero degrees touring as long as I’m moving quickly my hands will stay incredibly warm in these rolled fingers throughout for added dexterity because they are a little bit thicker of a glove wonderful design by mountain equipment. Hi this is brad with proline gear and. Today we’re gonna be talking about the guide glove for mountain equipment this is a very nicely designed glove and at 50 dollars you really can’t beat this glove it is. Completely waterproof using mountain. Equipment dry light membrane it’s highly waterproof highly breathable with. A micro pile lining insert kind of that kind of rabbit kind of rabbit fur style. Feeling on the inside very warm, and they bond it inside there so when you pull your hand out the lining doesn’t move around your hands so when other gloves are a soggy mess and are difficult to get off these will slide on and off with ease many times the grey portion here is a nice nylon material and the back is a stretch panel so the glove will move and articulate very nicely this is a cowhide. Leather palm not the tarts this is gonna be very durable for the guy so I’m doing a lot of belays just a very tough leather glove rolled fingers for added dexterity and then give you a little extra leather on the tips of the fingers which decrease dexterity a little bit but increased durability if you’re having to grab rocks or anything like that while you’re climbing or using ski poles snot wipe on the bottom of the. Glove nylon on the top part of the thumb and three-part thumb that shares design. With all their other gloves fantastically well-designed well-thought-out pre articulated fingers for. Belay so you can hold on a little bit better or hold on to rock or your tools they fit true to size I’m a xl and. These xl fit my hand perfectly if you. Today we’ll be talking about the mountain equipment super alpine club this is a beautifully designed glove from our friends across the pond it is made from gore-tex windstopper petard oil tag leather palm with a little bit. Of neoprene just to add a little bit of comfort in the cuff and I’m gonna pull these out here to show you how they fit. The gloves fit absolutely wonderfully. Right here looking at these petard soiltac palm there’s a little bit of texture to it as well as just the adjust. The goatskin there it’s incredibly dexterous due to the three part thumb. Design right here so kind of it’s a they called snap wipe right here as well. A little bit softer and the thumb is built in three places so it has this roll tip finger so when you go to grab a carabiner you can actually feel the nose. Feel the gate feel the screw part in your fingers incredibly dexterous a little bit of durability here in case the rope goes over your hand just for long repels blaze things like that mountain equipment does something that I’ve never seen another company do they take a lot of time and attention building their stuff instead of having a tie safe mountain equipment in one piece. They actually a separate mountain and equipment on the left and right gloves i just thought that was kind of interesting wind stopper across the back. And the apri there with a really nice new-school hook and loop velcro cuff. They’re incredibly tight-fitting they’ll be dexterous these would be great for ice climbing anything alpine use maybe even cold touring days if you have any questions please feel free to call.
