To introduce you to the the newest to get started with the pillow, simply pull up on the drawstring and remove the pillow from the carrying case. So there are a few new features of the aloof pillow 2 0 that I wanted to mention the first one is the front of the pillow. Has an all-new design on the back of the pillow we’ve added a few new features that help the pillow to reduce the slipping of the pillow, while in use the first one that you’ll notice is there is an elastic, strap on the back of the pillow.
This can be used to fit either around a sleeping pad, while you’re camping, or it can also go around an office chair if you’re using it for lumbar support. So this is simply an elastic strap with a button on the side that can be easily snapped into place. The second feature that I wanted to point out on this pillow is the rubber dots on the back of the pillow.
This is also has been used on this pillow design to reduce this slipping of the pillow, while it’s on top of a sleeping pad during use. The next thing I wanted to to mention about this pillow is the air valve design to inflate the pillow, simply pull up on this uh, the valve the inflating valve on the pillow and you’ll notice.
There’s a button inside the valve there’s two positions of the button right now. The button is in the down position, which is used to deflate the air from the pillow to put the valve into the inflating position, simply push down on the valve with your finger and the button will be in the up position. So once again, I hope you can see it in the video.
This is the up position. This is the down position, so I will inflate the pillow, so it is in the up position or the inflating position now simply blow air into the pillow. It takes about three breaths of air to fully inflate the pillow after the pillow is inflated with the air. The valve can then be closed and the pillow is then ready for use um next to deflate the air from the pillow again just open.
This tab and you’ll want to push down the button into the deflating position. As soon as I do that you’ll see, air is immediately deflating from the pillow and then you just simply want to roll up the pillow to remove any excess air from the pillow and then put the pillow back into the carrying case, pull on the drawstring and you’re ready to go so that was the trichology aloof, pillow 2 0.

Whether you’re camping or just traveling, there is no substitute for a good night’s sleep and one of the things that always helped me is to have a good pillow in this video. We’re going to take a look at the compressible pillow from the folks at thermal wrist. That’s coming up on survival on purpose. Welcome back to survival on purpose, my name is Brian thanks for joining me. So over the years I’ve tried a lot of different camp.
Pillows I’ve tried just taking this a sack and stuff. In my my clothing and my jacket in turn, or whatever I’ve tried a little compressible stuff stuff sack pillows inflatable pillows never really found anything that was nearly as comfortable as I wanted it to be. To be honest with you, I know a lot of people just just go for the minimalist approach and just stuff their clothes into a pocket or sack, or whatever pillow case to me that just has never been very comfortable.
It’s always got some lumps or something in it. You know, there’s just don’t comfortable for the folks at thermal wrists were kind enough to send me one of their compressible pillows and I use this on the last campout and I have to say, I’m really pleasantly surprised by this and the reason I say surprised, because at first glance, I didn’t really think it was gonna. Be that comfortable. To be honest, we compress it down pretty good.
It’s a very light weight, so without a lot of rambling. Let’s just open this thing up and I’ll tell you what I like about and we’ll talk about the specs as we go, because it is just a pillow and we’ll get to it. So first of all you can see this is about. I could probably compress it a little more. If you squeeze it down, it can probably can get up not much bigger than a softball, but this is pretty compressed. Then it’s got.
It comes in its own attached kind of little compression sack. It’s got a drawstring here and basically you just unfold it out. Okay, okay, so here it is open. It comes in several different sizes and patterns. This is the mosaic pattern. I believe this is the large. This one weighs nine ounces or 255 grams is 18 inches, long or 46 centimeters by 14 inches wide or 36 centimeters, and it’s four inches thick or 10 centimeters, and it really fluffs up a lot more than that.
It’s made of brushed polyester and it’s got urethane foam inside of it and I’m quoting therm-a-rest here that this is made in the USA of the finest USA and global materials. So that’s all the specs. So let’s just talk about it now. First of all, you can see that has its own little built-in sack here to roll it up in and then it’s got a great side in a pattern side. The there’s no possible way. I can show you this without cutting open and I’m.
Not going to do that, because this is going with me on my kayak trip because, as it turns out, this isn’t possibly the most comfortable camp pillow I’ve ever used and but instead of being just a solid piece of foam in here, it’s actually. It feels like it’s got a lot of little little pellets about the size of my about size into my finger and there at first I thought that would be uncomfortably kind of it because they feel kind of firm here on you.
But what it does it’s just ice on. The smaller pillows I have to fold them up like just a problem. I head up, I use this pillow here and it just provided enough support. I sleep on my side, so I need a pretty supportive pillow. He provided enough support that I was I was really comfortable. It’s not a it’s. The fabric is really soft, so it’s not like a nylon line that just gonna, sweat and just kind of stick to your face and all that and it just fluffs up very good again.
It’s super lightweight, and you know if you wanted a large one, they even got a larger one, but it really did a great job, I. Think of supporting my head. So, unlike some pillows, you know you don’t have to let it air out and fluff up or whatever I think you let it sit. It will a little bit. I know I’m starting to ramble here, but basically it’s just a pillow, but it’s a very comfortable, oh and I can tell you this. One is going with me on my week-long kayak trip with the Boy Scouts I’ll put it in the dry bag to make sure it stays dry, and this is going to be home, sweet home for me for a week.
So you see how big a guess, let’s just show you how easy it is to stuff back up then now let me just stand it wrings see it. Hopefully you can see this now and just I just stuff it in whatever you know just poke it in push it in jam it in whatever and then start pulling on the string here like so to give your steam. You can kind of define the edges of your sack here and they just keep poking it in and pull this down as you go, it’s not really as convenient as a stuff sack cub, because you can just stuff those things in, but but but my experience with those is they just don’t have a loft squeeze it.
They just don’t have the they don’t fluff back out pretty much they stuff in really well, but they don’t fluff back out very well so I mean that’s not really that big, that’s about the size of a small football and it will again you’re gonna cram it in your packet or compress down smaller, but again only like this one’s only nine ounces, a very, very lightweight and very comfortable.
