All right, what’s up everyone today, we to review, is the resolve to rain jacket. This is a men’s large. It comes in a variety of sizes and colors. Definitely a great rain jacket if you’re not going on some crazy adventure as gore-tex and other options are usually super expensive in the four to five hundred dollar range and this jacket can be found for between 80 and 110 dollars, Canadian or us around that mark, depending on sales and the time of year. So let’s get into what this jacket has to offer.

Alright. So the first thing on this jacket, that’s really good! Is this velcro flap? It protects the zipper so that water can’t get into it similar to how a welded zipper system would work where it’s welding in and it protects it from any water seeping in this just simply covers it. You can’t get water in because it’s covered by the same material, that’s around the rest of the jacket, which is water-resistant technically waterproof. Another key feature is the hood, as you want every rain jacket to have a hood that way your heads not getting wet as well, and your body is staying dry, your head, staying dry and you’re all bueno, so the other things is because it is a simple rain jacket.

It has two zippered pockets, one on either side with a little bit of fabric to cover the flap. You know keep what’s in there safe and then on the body right here at the waist. You have some polls in order to cinch it right up around your waist in order to really create almost a water sealed like layer, I guess you could say it also has cords in the hood in order to pull and cinch around your hat, or you know, just your head in general makes it so you’re staying drier and stuff.

Another good thing is on this right here. This will basically come right over, as you can see, it creates like a like a drainage effect right off. So that’s it’s covering your head as well, almost like what you wear a hat for right, because then it protects it from getting in and it just keeps everything dry in general creates almost like a an overhang alright. So another great thing is: this: jacket can be folded up into a little bit of a pouch, so you fold like so and then you go up and know this is really messy because I’m moving it in the hair, very easy to do on the bed or on the floor or wherever you’re packing, you stuff it in the hood and then it’s all sealed and protected.

You go like this little ball to keep putting your backpack or whatever saves you space, and then, when you need your jacket there, it is comes out. You gotta do it. You put it on you’re good to go big thumbs up for that ingenuitive design that they have there. So a great thing about this jacket is how well-made and the quality that it is as anytime you’re going out on hikes or working outside, and it rains a lot. You obviously want to stay dry and usually what you look for is a giant triangle marking on a you know, piece of clothing that says gore-tex and for those of you who don’t know, gore-tex is a very, very water resistant, waterproof material that seals out water and anyone that really goes on long trips or our explorers always strive to get it and obviously North Face offers a huge line of products for every kind of adventurer or every kind of person in what they’re doing, but with this you’re saving, probably $300, because most gore-tex products come around 400 just because of the material, usually 2 to 400 I’d, say so: you’re saving around 1/2 to 4 times the money and it works fairly.

Well, for what you’re doing I mean, of course you can’t you know submerge it, because you will get wet, it’s not completely waterproof. If you do stay out in a down or probably for a nap over an hour, I’d say you will still get wet. But what they’ve done with this resolve line is they’ve created, something that’s practical for everyday people, that’s affordable as well, so they also have pants in this resolved line. They’re really great! All of these come with these drive end technology.

It’s some thing they do in the usually involves like some holes somewhere, but aren’t actually holes. It’s really quite neat, so these pants are very similar. It’s made of the same material. They have two zippered pockets again then, at the bottom they have velcro cinching. So you can cover up around your boot or your shoe or whatnot, and it keeps all of the water off of your leg and keeps your socks dry and everything the material inside. You can tell super water-resistant, but again, this stuff has a package.

If you bought the shirt. Sorry the coat and the pants is only like 150 to 200 dollars and you wouldn’t even you would probably only be able to get like the pants for that price if you’re buying the high-end stuff. Now, of course, it’s all your own choice of what you want to buy because it depends on where you’re going, but if you’re a student- or you know you only go on like hikes in Canada or the US and you’re comfortable with something like this. It’s a great alternative because you really get to save that money, and by doing so you can save it for other things, on your trip or get more supplies or in turn buy pants as well stuff like that, because gore-tex is, you know the standard, but North Face have created another great product that can withstand a lot of water.

So let’s go and test the jacket out and see how it is yeah all right. So what we’re going to do is we’re gonna spray, the coat with water for about 30 seconds to a minute and you’re, really just gonna, see how the water can beat off and everything, and it just makes it so. You know you’re gonna stay dry, underneath all your clothes are gonna stay dry, whether you’re walking to work walking to school, or you know if you’re running with walking outside with a laptop when you tuck it under your jacket.

You know it’s going to be safe all right, so here we go all right. So a lot of the water, as you can see it just beads off at the bottom. Obviously this is a lot you’re. Probably in you know like a monsoon at this point, depending on what you’re doing but like you can completely tell the waters beating off of it. It’s even hard, eld drying in some spots, you can see it’s a quite good material and if you look inside it’s perfectly dry and if we move the jacket off the wall everywhere, the jacket was is dry and you can see up around it, how it’s soaked everywhere else and then the giant puddle that’s on the ground.

And then, if you look in the hood, it’s completely dry as well. It’s just the outside, that’s wet, so, overall, a really great jacket. If you’re trying to buy something on a budget, that’s also going to be dependable and a great alternative to any gore-tex products, and definitely the jacket I recommend from North Face. They have the venture to, but everything I’ve heard about that people don’t like it. They find problems with it. The resolve to, in my opinion, is the best bargain jacket you can get.

Obviously you know if you have the money and you want something more expensive get it, but if you’re looking at that, lower price line go for this one. In my opinion, you can see it worked really. Hi guys welcome to simply height code at UK. It’s going to be talk about the North Face evolution to Triclimate jacket. Now this jacket is perfect for autumn winter, and even the springtime that’s due to the three-in-one system, it’s going from some of the specs on, so the jacket has high vent membrane on the outside. So it’s going to keep you nice and dry, but also it’s going to keep you nice and cool due to the breathability of the jacket. It’s a really cool and key feature to have in a three-in-one jacket, the fleece inside, which will go into more detail later on, has Polartec in it.

So that works really well at keeping your core temperature warm. So you won’t overheat and you won’t under heat due to the proto Tec technology and also helps way wick away, sweat as well. It’s a really nice feature, difference between this jacket and obviously its predecessor- it’s now slightly longer in the body and also has a bit more of a fit under the arms and on the on the sides for you. So it gives you a bit of a bit of a bit of a bit more movement, it’s not just a kind of standard size.

So that’s a really nice feature to have in this jacket right. Let’s take a look at some of the features showing what – the cool feature really fit Venice. So, as you can see, this exposes the fleece lining. That’s on the inside of the jacket. This just enables some cool air. So if you do get a bit too hot, obviously, depending on what time of year you’re wearing it, you can open them up and let just then it was nice cool air to go through and ventilate through your jacket to keep you nice ankl, which is always a good feature.

I’ll leave that open and then I will also show you this one as well. There you go: here’s the fleece lining, so you get both pit vents on both arms, which is really cool, so they work together to keep your core warm or calm. Another thing is nice big pockets at the front here now these are front fleece lines. So if you do have or somehow managed to lose one of your gloves or if you just completely forgot your gloves, the fleece will keep your hands nice and warm.

Now that will work really well with the ventilation and the warmth. Should we say that you’ll get from the from your core body temperature, as well as the fleece, that’s inside the jacket, so they’ve been working together will keep your hands no and one again. The pockets are big enough to put your GPS system, your mobile phones than the other bits and bobs that you’ve got on as well. That’s a really cool feature to have also in the pockets and we’re showing straight you here.

You have these a bit parts of elastic now. What these actually know we need to do is to do the drawstring at the bottom part of the jacket. So if it’s really windy what you can do just pull these as I’m demonstrate now and what that’s done is that’s tightened up the bottom, so you know if it’s really windy or really rainy or you know, you’ve got a lot of puddles. You just want to keep everything nice and secure, pull those in and away you go in order to loosen them up.

There’s just two bones on the inside of the jacket right here: pull them now: you’re going jobs, a good’un right. Let’s take a look at the column now pretty much standard with all north face. Jackets is a nice high collar. This is to prevent windchill going onto your actual net. So if you’ve got a scarf or anything, that’s going to be nice and snug in there and it’s going to keep you nice and warm. This also prevents cold air going down and interfering with your core body temperature as well.

So that’s a really key feature in a really nice feature that this jacket has. It also works really well with the hood, which I will talk to you about later. What I’m going to do for you now, though, just a bit of a 360. So obviously you can have a look at the back as well and then we’ll go and talk about the inside system and the three-in-one system that you get with the jacket. So let me do your 360 for ya, so, as you can see, it’s a really nice fit on the front and on the back, there works really well with your movement, which is a really key feature, and this is a as I say: new fit style technique that they’ve used on this jacket and to be fair, it fits really nicely all right.

Let me harkaman about the outside. Let’s take a look on the inside shower, so the first thing you will notice is the police, so this is a hundredweight three sets inside which has a prototype technology. Now this place is part of the three-in-one system, so you can unzip it as easy. As that and away you go that’s giving you your two layers now, as you can see with the police, you do have pockets on the inside as well there. So they’re, really nice they’re big enough.

For you know you move our phones and anything like that, any other fits and box. But that does mean you can wear the fleece separately, so you can just as out as your normal day-to-day fleece. You can also have the jacket separately. So, as in a lightweight jacket for something that you might wear in the spring- and maybe if you have a bit of a dump summer time, you can wear that or have it all zipped in this bug. That’s your three-in-one system, so the jacket was a fleece in the fleece, EPS relief and the jacket separately.

Those are a three in one technology for you. What I will do they I’ll unzip it again just to show you the lineup of the actual jacket itself, so there’s no pockets or anything inside of this bit. But it is just your basic shell jacket. You can see it’s nice and mesh, so the actual material on the inside isn’t probably touching or going against your skin. This is to help with a breathability of the jacket yeah, but it’s you know going to keep you dry and it’s going to keep you cool.

So that’s a really nice feature to have, especially in this sort of jacket, tech jacket. Just to have my other little features like like a bit of mesh. It does make a lot of difference, so let me sit that in and what we’ll do we’ll just double check the other side. This is anything on here. Any hidden surprises for us that, but, as you can see, it’s pretty much the same that side as well. Well, it will briefly show you, though, is the hole. I can give it. You can see it.

There is a quickly, so there’s the hole for the the pit vents as well. Yet again, obviously the same rules apply. If you wear, the jacket is well without the fleece, and you know if you’re doing a little bit of running or anything in it, open them up, and it would just give you so much more ventilation. That’s a really nice feature to have in this jacket. So let me zip this up and then I will talk about the hoods and, as I said, with the protecting the technology, that’s actually in the fleece.

It’s designed just to keep you on. So, even though it’s 100 bite police, it will keep you nice and will in the winter time, even if it’s snowing it will definitely do the job, and that’s just due to the prototype technology. That’s in there check the air around the body and not quicker and keeps you warmer for a long, the time right. So my top the hood up and then unzip that just took that bit in away you go so now, as you can see the hoods, not just the base it could.

You do have this nice bit that pokes out the front here now. Basically well, that’s designed to do is to keep the rainwater from flapping down on your face so rather than the she would say, the hood in a harsh line. Doing this. It’s going to stand up nicely like this. Obviously, once you’ve got the adjusters talking about the adjusters, you have them on the sides here. So by pulling these put it in here. That draws it in that way, as well as having an adjuster on the back so using those adjusters on the side and that one on the back.

What that does that ties in the hood, and it just makes everything nice and tight and secure with you or for you again? If you don’t want to use the hood it does before I can get it rolling away on this side fit here for you, so you can roll the hood itself in its jacket. Giving you a nice thick collar which to be fair, is actually really nice and really comfortable. There is a bit of a dining on the inside as well, so it won’t rub the neck anyway for more information.

Hi guys and welcome to simply hike today I’m going to be talking about the North Face resolve jacket. Now this jacket is a nice lightweight jacket. So it’s going to be perfect if you’re doing your Duke of Edinburgh, some good a weekend, hiking or quite literally just walking to and from work and now the jacket itself was made out of a rip stop material, which means it’s nice and lightweight, but also means it’s really rugged.

You can pretty much drag it to heaven bike so say. For instance, I was to tear the jacket itself same five squares, no matter what sort of pressure applied to it, the tears will stay within those five squares, which means as soon as you get home or when you get to Basecamp stitch up seal up and away. You go right so before I go through the general bits and bobs of the jacket I’m just going to give you a quick 360, so there we go.

Obviously what I’ll tell you now. Obviously there is a hoods jacket and it is rolled up inside the collar itself, good. Obviously, what I talk about the hood? That’s when I’ll, you know get that out and show you the key features. What so they’ve really kept trying to keep this jacket as minimal as possible? I mean you’ve got the high vent waterproofing, so it’s nice and waterproof.

It’s definitely going to keep you dry, no matter what, but also the high vent technology is really good for breathability. So if you’re after a jacket, that’s going to be nice and breathable as well, this is definitely one to look out for also its traditional shape is pretty popular as well. So obviously, with that in mind, they try to keep it as basic as possible. Quite literally, you have you’ve got the two pockets on the front there and yet again they’re a generous size.

So if you’ve got your GPS system, your OS maps, your mobile phones, your mp3 prize, you can keep everything in there. Without you know, with ease I mean the pretty much the whole pocket. Is that section there, so you get nice big space and obviously you have to either sides it again, they’re protected by a zip as well. So whatever you put in there and stay nice and protected, they have basically a windshield or a rain shield as well on the illicit as well to keep so whatever you pop in there will keep nice and dry and also a bit of protection from the wind.

What you do have as well rather than the traditional velcro cuffs. You have an the catered system now. This is a nice little system because it actually reacts to the should we say the your actual wrist side. I mean it’s a bit big on me here, but if I were to have a pair of gloves on pop that over the jacket and away you go, you know, so it almost act as a as a in one section.

So there’s none of this advan to play around with velcro quite literally reacts to obviously the size of your wrist and obviously what you put over your hand. So that’s a really nice feature to have in the resolve jacket. Also for another protection. You have obviously these pretty bits in here now. Obviously this is standard for any jackets, especially with the North Face range, but they’re really easy to pull up and under the in again I’ve pulled that in now, so any wind chill around it like that, it will help protect my core temperature as well, so we’ll stop the wind from going shooting up and then going up through my jacket.

Yet again, if you just want to undo it is as simple as pressing the buttons on the side giving that a bit of a wiggle and hey presto there you go it’s back to its normal size. So let me talk about the zip, but obviously, most importantly with the zip is actually the neck. So if I do that, although, as you can see, it’s got a quite a nice high neck get again. Obviously the hood itself is rolled away in as well and you’re going to nice fleece lining on the inside there.

So as it rubs against the neck. It’s actually quite soft. It feels quite nice she bit bizarre but yeah. Basically, if you have a sheet a scarf or buff in there, it’s going to reduce the windchill dramatically for you, especially if you are you know, in the autumn winter time, wearing this jacket, even in the summertime. You know what England’s like. Sometimes you just get that little bit of a little bit of a chill breeze, that’s going to keep everything nice and protected for you, which you know is going to help you know so it doesn’t affect your core body.

Temperature then also means you’re not going to get too much of a you know, cramp in your nature and the day. So that’s a really nice feature it again. That works really well with the hood which I’ll demonstrate you win. Obviously, so the zip itself, as you can see, has a storm flap. So it keeps everything nice and dry, but then also what it doesn’t mean. It means wind chill as well to most importantly, to keep your court and, if you think, before just undo that and I’ll show you the inside edge okati, it’s a very standard setup on the inside.

It’s just a mesh lining and the mesh lining there’s just to add a bit of comfort, so there’s no direct contact with the actual waterproofing itself and also what this means it enables the breathability of the jacket, because it’s not directly on to your skin. It’s going to be a lot more bit more breathable for you than say some other jackets that don’t have the mesh lining on there.

Yet again, it is a it’s just, a comfort thing. Really there are no pockets or anything on the inside, but as I say it does exactly what it says on the ten. You know you can’t really go wrong with it. So there we go. That’s the inside of the jacket. What I will do now is show you how easy is to get the hood up. It is quite this we just under the Phillip L Crowe wrong route.

Hey presto, your heads up. How easy was that, so it’s absolutely chocolate down with rain. All you’ve got to do is flick up the velcro, unroll it hey presto, zips out, and then there you go. The hood is up now, as I said before, it works really well with the cornice I’d like to do you, you cone up like that. You’ve got the pulleys on the side here on your inside part. Let me grab them, then the internal part yep just over there and pull those in and then that basically takes shape of the hood itself.

Now, as you will notice, the hood is piqued. So what that means is even if it’s absolutely chucking down the frame, the coating won’t basically go into your face. Hi I’m Brigitte- and this is Slope Style I’m here with Bryan from The North Face, and thanks for coming in Bryan We’re, going to talk about the Boundary boys Triclimate jacket, and this is a 3-in-1 piece and it’s got so many different features on it. But let’s first talk about the fabric: What kind of fabric is this?.

Shell fabric is a waterproof breathable HyVent fabric that is fully seam taped, so totally waterproof Sweet and is it insulated as well? It is insulated in that it is a 3-in-1 jacket? So, you have the shell and you also have a jacket on the inside as well. That is a synthetic insulation that we call Heat Seeker Ok.

So that means it’s pretty warm? Absolutely It’s 160g of Heat Seeker insulation, so very warm So. What about on the outside here? Are there more features? You can point out? Lots of features! So. First of all, you’ve got zippered hand, pockets and another pocket on top of that, so essentially, dual entry on the front for two separate pockets.

You also have a little pass pocket over here for your ski pass and over here in that pocket you’ve got a little goggle shammy, so you can -, oh and it’s attached too – exactly it’s perfect, so you can also put keys on that. If you need to Another thing that typically might go unnoticed, you’ve got stiffeners down here in the bottom of the hem, so it makes it really easy for mom and dad to zip up the coat or even easy for the young boy to do And on the inside.

Is there any features as well? Yeah, so really cool? We’ve got a map right here that points out all the features of the jacket Oh. My gosh, sometimes it’s hard because you don’t even know it’s there until after the season, over! Exactly, And a really great ski or snowboard feature a powder, skirt, Ok, awesome.

Well, gosh, this jacket is loaded. Who would say this jacket would be for?. This jacket is great for I, think not only the kids that are skiing or snowboarding, but it’s also a great all around town or school jacket for winter use. And. It’s super warm too Absolutely So. Triclimate now they took a little bit of a different approach with this one and I had to throw it in there, because this is more of a the rugged jacket that maybe a lot of you were looking for. They. They didn’t compromise breathability with this, but they took a different approach in that it uses a lot of really heavy-duty polyurethane shell.

That was gonna, really protect you from the moisture, but not compromise that breathability that that North Face is really known for none of all the jackets that we’re going to be looking at today. This one’s probably gonna be the least style driven of them all, which is not a bad deal because, namely when you’re going out- and you don’t want a jacket- that’s gonna break the bank.

This is gonna, be a good all-around purpose jacket for the average daily individual of all the jackets that we’re talking about today. This one’s gonna be the heaviest coming in at two point: nine pounds. This is your daily wear. This is something you’re gonna take out camping. This is something you’re gonna. Take the grocery store.

You’re, probably gonna show up to your friend’s house in a and you’re gonna, pretty much use it for just about any other reason you can justify. You know what this is a really interesting one, because a lot of people just really love this jacket. It’s getting a four point, four stars out of five now number four is interesting: I had to throw the Gordon Lions in there, because every jacket repertoire has have an upscale support.

Now this might be North Faces, most vanilla jacket, but it’s super breathable. It is gonna, be for the person who’s going to work with a button-up shirt. It’s gonna work great with the set of slacks, because you’re the corporate adventurer, who just not gonna, be bound by the man. Take it to them. This thing’s gonna be sleek and slim pretty much like everything else.

That’s corporate in business these days, you’re showing up to make a subtle statement and that’s exactly what you’re gonna do coming in at number. Three is the Gotham 3. Now this is North Faces ultimate cult, winter coat, because it’s a high quality down insulation that you know is going to give you the warm fuzzies. Now this is gonna be an ultra light jacket coming in at 8 ounces.

When I tried to look at more information on this jacket, I couldn’t find much North Face swaps out their website products. So often so I went to the Amazon store and I, don’t know if they really know. What’s going on with Amazon I went through the listing and I found two different jackets on the same. So I guess you don’t really know what you’re gonna get now we’ll say: I’m, not a fan of the fur hood, but this is also not my jacket.

Now all the materials used on the outside shell, this jacket is dry vent. You got a Down insulator. This jackets gonna, keep you warm and cozy, but we know that this is a jacket. That’s where some of your most intense adventures so not going to be helping out in the mountains, but in the city now, where you might find yourself with this jacket, is you’re.

Gonna start the night late, you don’t know where you’re going what’s happening, you’re in the city, you got your crew and you know that’s enough because you’re, a veteran driven but you’re about the city. Now this loose fit jackets come in just around three hundred dollars. Coming in number two is the thermal Triclimate, who can argue with two jackets for one price.

Now this jacket represents my favorite style of layering, which is a solid, sterile outer layer with a high-performance thermal layer. Now one thing that you’ll run into with conventional single layer jackets is that thermal regulation becomes a super huge issue, especially if you consider yourself moderately active you park, trail Walker’s or maybe you’re, getting a little sweaty and unzipping your coat.

Just isn’t the right option what you get with this two layer system? This is really three jacket. Setups number one! You get your durable outer layer which is going to be perfect when you’re going out in the rain. Maybe a summer time you don’t want to get wet. Do you want to stay protected? You don’t want to get hot and that thermal layer is not gonna.

Do what it’s meant to do because now you’re just raising your body temperature too much, then you have the opposite side from that, which is your thermal layer separated from your outer shell. Now this thermal layer lets you be in drier situations and without having that outer shell you’ll actually get more moisture, wicking capabilities, because that regulation between the outside temperature and what’s going on inside your jacket, it’s gonna be a lot more abrupt.

Because now you don’t have this waterproof shell, that’s you know lining you from the environment and then, of course you have the combination layer. You want to go out and be a little practical, because you know the elements that you’re gonna be immersed in are not necessarily gonna. Be natural. I actually might like this jacket.

Most of all, because you got a sleek inner layer at which I wish was down, but they don’t say this means that it’s not, but everything else about this jacket is right up my alley. When it comes to style, I can be hard on my outside layer. I can open it up when I need thermoregulate a little bit better and I can take it out into more harsher environments.

Know that I’m a stay protective I love the idea of this jacket. But what does this mean for you? No, this is for the person who’s quite a bit more outdoorsy and not afraid to get a little dirty at the same time, you’re walking through the trees. The rain is coming down. This jacket is blowing off branches and raindrops left and right and hue, or film slim you’re, feeling cozy and you’re ready to do work.

But you know this one wants to get out in the elements because it breathes venture now the seasons that you’re gonna be using this in is a fall winter or spring, because you know that you can remove the inner thermal layer and regulate your temperature a lot better than if that in a thermal layer was sewn into the jacket. All in all, this Jackson me for the person who’s craving that unpredictable weather coming in around 200 bones and coming in and number one is the in Lux insulated jacket.

North base is dry vent technology which allows your outer shell to be moisture wicking from the inside, but waterproof from the outside. Now this technology lets North Face use some more unconventional fabrics that might look better or have different designs to bring a more stylish aesthetic to your outdoor wardrobe and they use their heat seeker installation to allow this jacket to be high warmth below weight and bring this jacket into a total of just eight ounces.

Now that’s that’s mind-boggling, and that’s that’s probably why this thing comes out with a $200 price tag. Now this jackets for those people who know that you know may be climbing the mountains, not for me, but Spain and the city is also not. For me. This is a happy medium. The North Face is designed to keep a super light weight.

Keep you super warm and dry. My favorite color way of this jacket is the heather gray that allows you to get out and blend in, and that’s my top five north face jackets.
