Which works kind of like a chinstrap that gives you the adjust ability and the control of putting it to where you need it also a pretty aggressive downturn. Shoe pretty interesting downturn shoe it's not downturn throughout the whole shoe it's just downturn throughout the toe box that allows the heel to work by itself and not affect the heel and the fit of the heel also we're still using the proven arch flex a design that just. Worked really well for us in the past shoes with different tensioning specific to this shoe this is not a specifically outdoor shoe but it's its driven and. Built for outdoor climbing it does climb very well indoors as well but. You're gonna see its true potential outside on all different terrain slab. Overhanging pockets crimps and micro. Diamond for sure a lot of power in the shoe also introduced a compression tongue so the tongue is designed with elastic to squeeze the top of your foot down this shoe actually works really well as a slipper unlaced but also you're getting that added control and fit and feel with that lace i really wanted to give matt rock a chance to put. Ourselves out there and show this industry what we can produce and then. Also within the shoe i really wanted to make a complete shoe i really felt like you know with climbing shoes and how there had been made for the last 20 years we really get a good fit in the toe box area but the struggling area has always been the heel so my goal was to make a complete shoe from heel to toe and then also stylizing it really making. It really loud really different than anything else that's been out there a lot of design cues from race cars some people have come in and say wow that looks like a Jordan a michael Jordan shoe and that's where I've got a lot of the influence from you know I've always respected michael Jordan shoes waited in. Line to get the shoes and you know i put a little bit of that into rock climbing you know it does have an aggressive look and an aggressive profile to it but it's an extremely comfortable shoe and it doesn't come at. The expense of performance so yeah we. Are continuing to make pretty comfortable shoes but that still perform the way you need them perform a lot has to do with the lining this is a line high-end shoe a lot of the higher-end shoes are not lined they're just let you know put your foot in it let it conform a lot of the idea behind this shoe is to have the fit be consistent. From when it comes out of the box to a month or two down the line and. Especially when you're actually using the shoe to maintain the power and put everything where it needs to be we did use 4.1 millimeters sole rubber here rx5. Formula our competitors don't necessarily use that thick of rubber but i think it adapts to the style of each climber so if you are a bit of a beginner climber and you're getting into experiencing the high performance end of the shoe line you're not gonna get screwed by you know having the shoe blowout on you that fast or having a rubber wear out on you within reason i mean it is a it is a tool that we're using, and they do wear down like a kitchen knife we knew exactly what we wanted, and we work a compromise, so we. Were just right after it's pretty awesome we're really proud of it's like it generated a lot of buzzes a lot of. For high performance climbing sport bouldering cutting edge traditional routes as well where you're really looking for maximum performance out of the shoe one of the nice things about the solution is what we call our p3 platform that's how the r and wraps around the heel here giving the shoe a permanent power of platform and down. Turn shape throughout the life a lot of times without this platform a downturn shoe you climb in it a couple times and it's just flattened out and doesn't have that precision the solution with the p3 platform will keep that throughout the life of the shoe giving you a really solid platform for edging we actually just introduced a women's model as well it's been a great hit for us the main difference between the men's and the women's solution is the women's solution will actually use a little softer midsole so it's a little more sensitive designed for a little lighter climber we honestly have a lot of guys who will move to the solution women's as well if they're looking for a little more sensitivity through the toe then the than the men's version the women's solution will also have a little narrower forefoot and heel la sportiva does use different molds between our men's and women's shoes you'll see the shoe curves in pretty aggressively. And has this natural downturn shape that's to concentrate power on your big toe and give you a really really powerful platform for super small edges. Because of that you tend to downsize the solution pretty aggressively you want to minimize the amount of volume in the shoe it really concentrates your power. And helps you have the utmost precision on small edges smears where you've really got to trust your feet they've all been hand built in italy we use high quality leathers vibram rubber so you. Get a really high performance shoe one of our most well known athletes danielwoods the solution is his go-to shoe we've sent him more pairs of those than anything else we actually we had one point during a trip where he was outside of our range and we couldn't get him a pair of shoes he went and paid full retail for a pair of these shoes that's how much he loves them pretty. Much all of his high-end boulders have been sent in a pair of solutions on the ladies side actually page causton has really taken to the solution women's we've seen as many of our men jump into the solution woman's as well again liking that little softer and more sensitive midsole so it gives you a little bit of a variety in the shoe if you're looking for a little more edging precision or if you're looking for a little more sensitivity for a route that requires a lot of smearing la sportiva is very very selective about their leather they actually get it from a ranch that uses no barbed wire around it. Meaning that you know normally a cow if it brushes up against barbed wire will end up with a little scrape or a scar which is a weak point in the leather la sportiva specifies that all the leather come from barbed wire less ranches that. Way you get a lot more quality in the leather you don't have to worry about imperfections what that means for the climber is the sole is designed to be replaced you can get multiple resold out. Of our shoes whereas a lower budget shoes tend to use cheaper materials and they'll break down over the life of one sole with the solution because it has a lot higher grade material it actually accepts multiple soles so you get a longer lifespan out of it i would say vertical to overhanging routes or what this shoes designed for if it's lower angle climbing it's a little aggressive for that you would actually want a little soft tissue that smears a bit better we've got some athletes of ours for example daniel goes down three and a. Half or maybe four sizes from history to which is ridiculous i don't understand how he gets his foot in there but we have other athletes who are only maybe a full size down from their street shoe with the solution you are looking to maximize the performance so we do recommend downsizing everybody's a little different what i would recommend those you want to feel your toes beginning to curl in the shoe obviously you don't want them so painful you can't put them on or stand to climb in them but the solution is a shoe that benefits. From downsizing the higher performance you're looking for out of a shoe generally the smaller you want to go that way the shoe will both stretch out more to your foot and they'll be less volume in there so you get a more precise fit.
