You might get a lot of questions about swim jigs. All the different variations of them. And stuff and there's a lot of them. That did all work at times but. Itry to keep it simple. Itry to keep either shad imitations. Or bluegill limitations that's. What I really think. When the swim jig shines is. You know most of the time up real shallow. And grass and stuff. When the shad spawns going on. This is the Nichols saber swim jig. This is my very favorite want to put a gambler easy swimmer on the back of. You know it's white with just a little bit of chartreuse. And imitates shad real good. This is also a nickel's saber swim jig. One is the I think they're feeding on bluegills it's just black. And blue and green pumpkin the Nichols is jt's best color ever the gambler little easy on the back of. It is just black and blue. And green pumpkin these are the two.

Istick with just about. All the time I think it'll really help. You just simplify your swim jig fishing a little bit. Idon't put a lot of action into. It just a simple steady retrieve seems to work really well for me. You can fool around with different retrieves but. Ithink that'll just help. You out just to keep. Everything simple Nichols saber swim jig with a little easy on the back of. Either hearing to either imitate. And chat or you're imitating bluegills.

Or swim jig or the regular Sabre swim jig. One of the things I think makes a big difference is. It on an extremely sensitive rod. This is a halo titanium series. This is a 7-3 it on a 73. Or 76 but I'd like to throw. It on a thing you know. Iam 10 graphite rods. Ilike to throw because on a swim jig.

You really don't feel a lot of what's going on anyway. You know like if it's a vibrating jig. Or a spinner bait you know. You can really feel. Everything and you can feel. Some grass something like. That gets on the blade of your vibe jig. Or the blades of your spinner bait. You know the baits not operating properly well. When you're filling a swim jig it's really hard to feel so. Iwant to use is an absolute sensitive rod as. Ipossibly can and then. That way I can actually feel. Iget a little piece of grass on. Whatever I can give it a couple little twitches. It off there and that's also why almost. All the time on a swim jig. Irun braided line this is a thirty pound son line SX like. Once again it gives. That little bit extra fee. If I'm throwing a swim jig. And the water is really clear of course I'm going to go to. Some Sun line fluorocarbon but.

Most of the time I try to get away with braids. It gives you a lot. More solid hook set but. Ican just feel whatever I'm throwing on the back of. You know this happens to be the. You know the gambler burner craw but with a real sensitive rod. And braid I can feel those little claws on the back of. That thing turning or. Ihave a little easy on the back of. Ican actually feel. That tail paddle. It gets a piece of grass on. Iknow just to twitch. It so the setup you have a really sensitive rod. And braid you know. And also I like to throw. You know six three twos. Or six five two one ardent real. This is the apex but. That setup will really help. More efficient when you're throwing a swim jig. You don't want to be reeling it in.

And half the time of there be grass on. You know it's been a wasted cast so just a really high modulus graphite rod like. This like this titanium series from halo. And braided line I think it'll really help your swim jig fishing.

Hey John Kruse here. And I've got in my hand the missile Bates warlock jighead. This is a completely custom jig head. Idesigned for the missile Bates it's designed around a three aught Gamakatsu hook so. You got the sticky sharp Gamakatsu hook you've got a short custom-made spring lock on. It a lot of those spring locks are way too long. They don't give you your bait enough bite in there but there's a there's a big gap there between the spring and the hook point which is. What you need to have a good hook up ratio it's got a unique head design so. That that jig head will come right through cover. Any kind of cover brush comes through. Some types of grass come through real light rock heavy rock it's very weedless very snag resistant. It comes in three different sizes we've got the eighth ounce the three sixteenths. And then we've got the quarter ounce so. You got three different sizes comes in. Both green pumpkin and black whichever size. You like and I've been surprised. How much I fish a heavier shaky head.

When I'm fishing this warlock. It comes through cover so well. Ilike going a little bit heavier. You can make more contact with the bottom. Ifeel like you generate a lot. More strikes that way especially. Even in clear water you're making a cast. That baits falling fast you're almost getting a reaction strike those fish see. That bait falling fast. They go after you can lighten. It up go to the 3/16. Or the eighth have a slower fall maybe that's. What they want a little bit. You gives.
