hi I’m Rick with by 2-way radios comm in 2015 Midland introduced a new gmrs 2-way radio the MXT 100. This wasn’t the typical portable handheld walkie-talkie. It was a micro mobile TM RS radio. Now Midland is adding not. One not two but three new micro Mobile’s to. This series the MXT 105 MXT 115. And MXT 400 the MXT 105 replaces the original MXT 100. And it’s almost the same radio the package includes an MX t105 5 watt micro bubble radio a detachable hand microphone with a coiled cord a 12-volt power cable the vehicle adapter a flip frame detachable mount for horizontal. Or vertical mounting on. Or under the dash a microphone hanger mounting hardware. And a mobile magnet mount antenna with 19 feet of cable the MXT 105 has 5 watts of power 15 gmrs channels 10 NOAA Weather Channel’s 142 ctc SS DCS codes channel scan adjustable squelch signal strength meter monitor function keypad lock. And a 35 millimeter external speaker jack. It also has a built-in internal speaker. And a front panel backlit LCD with five levels of adjustable brightness the MXT 105 is designed for flexible mounting the display flip feature allows the unit to be installed upside down with an option to flip the readout on the screen to keep.

It upright and readable the MXT 115 is the next model in the line. More power and features. Then the MX e 105 and it’s a little larger like the 105 the MXT 115 includes a hand microphone with coiled cord a 12-volt power cable the vehicle adapter a flipped frame detachable mount microphone hanger mounting hardware. And the mobile mag mount antenna with a 19-foot cable the MXC 115 has 15 watts of power. It has 15 gmrs channels 10 NOAA Weather Channel’s 142 CT CSS. And DC s codes and weather alert additional features include five selectable cults owns Roger beep tone alert. And a USB charger port for charging other devices such as a handheld radio. Or cell phone it does not include the display flip feature of the MX e 105 but the display can be backlit in. One of eight selectable colors it’s also repeater capable with eight gmrs repeater channels the MX e 400 is the top model in the MX e line it’s. More powerful more features. And it’s considerably larger the MX t 400 comes equipped with a hand microphone 12 volt hardwired power cord a flip frame detachable mount a microphone hanger.

And mounting hardware an antenna is not included the MX t 400 transmits at up to 40 watts on the gmrs. It doesn’t have the weather channels included in the other models but. It does have 15 gmrs channels 142 C T CSS. And bcs codes and eight repeater channels. It also has some features found on. Many other mobile 2-way radios such as The Voice compounder power. And transmit LEDs talk around function. And a timeout timer. You want to know more about the new midland MXT Micro mobile 2-way radios. Any of our other products please don’t hesitate to give. Hello YouTube Peppers. If the columns proper. This video I’m excited to introduce a brand-new product here on the channel from Midland radio. And that’s their new NXT 400 general mobile radio service. Or gmrs mobile radio. This radio is going to turn out to be very popular in the prepping community. This is the only mobile radio. Iknow of currently in production. That has FCC Park 95 approval for the general mobile radio service with 40 watts of power in addition to 40 watts of power out of. This radio which is a lot of power it’s already reprogrammed with the 8 gmrs repeater pairs. You follow my channel. You know from time to time. Icover the general mobile radio service. Ithink GM RS is a great option for emergency preparedness emergency communications. And Peppers especially for those individuals. And groups that don’t have an interest in getting amateur radio license with the general mobile radio service. You can pay a flat fee. You get a 5-year license. That extends to your entire family so your spouse. And your children all can share the same license. And keep you legal here on the channel I’ve done videos about Midlands micro mobile radio here. This is a 15 channel 5 watt radio with a nice external antenna connection here. Ihave 2 of these radios. Ireally do like them but. Some criticism. Ireceived about this radio in my comments section is. It didn’t have repeater channels reprogrammed into. This was not a showstopper for me but Midland heard the call.

They recently introduced two new radios. This radio here and an MX T 115 radio with the 8 gmrs repeater pairs reprogrammed into the radio the first 7 channels are low-power channels. You can see I rotate through the channel knob here. You get up into channel 15. And above you can actually just the power level medium-low. And a whopping 40 watts of power that’s a lot of power. You can really reach out. And touch somebody with. That power you keep going through the simplex channels then. You come to what I think is absolutely great about. This radio the repeater channels so 15. All the way up to channel 22 are the eight gmrs repeater pairs here in the United States. Igot a lot of ideas for videos. Iwant to make with.

This radio but the first thing I think I’m going to do in. This radio is mount. It in my truck I already have two antenna mounts on the truck Midland was kind enough to send. This radio to they also set. Me their antenna that goes along with the radio a 3 DB gain whip antenna with a nmo mount, so we’re going to put. This up on the truck. We also sent me their mag mount adapter the MXT a 1:12 but since. Ialready have an N mo mount on the truck. Iprobably won’t be using this. Iwill demonstrate this in future videos but getting out of the box getting it set up in the vehicle I’m just going to hook up the radio in the vehicle. And use my existing mount with the antenna. Provided from Midland again I’m really excited about. This radio this is going to be a great option for Peppers looking to establish an emergency communications plan.

And set themselves apart from CB radio. And the profanity and the carrying on. That goes on CB radio again for a flat fee for a 5-year license with no exam. You can have a GM RS license. That covers and your entire family instead of for really quality communications. You take this radio mounted as a base station use. Some quality coax cable. And put an external antenna on a house at a bug-out location. Or retreat even on a vehicle with 40 Watts you’re going to be able to reach out. And communicate with people the other advantage with having this external antenna is with a quality antenna that’s external. That helps your smaller radios communicate back to your base station so with a good base station. You can also enhance the communications capability of your subscriber equipment, so we’re going to see.

This radio a lot more here on the channel but. Idid want to introduce. Ithink it’s going to be a big game changer in the prepping community for those folks looking to establish emergency communications. And as always thank. You for watching my videos. And subscribing to my channel. This has been the Khans prepper with the first video of a new playlist here in the channel on Midlands MXT 440 watt general mobile radio service mobile radio. This is going to be cool thanks for watching guys you.

She came back up to see. This weekend these are the midland x hawker t51. We decided it would be a perfect time to test. These walkie-talkies out again to see. That twenty-eight mile range is really real. Or there’s something wrong with. What we have so let’s see. What happens who is a Nene — peanut I’m gonna point to five miles over I’m at the hip mile mark I’ve made. It safely across the road 980 peanut I’m at the point seven five mile mark. These for free from work for doing a good job. And I’m not gonna complain but I’m definitely not gonna bring these out on the trail again. And we’re gonna take a look at. Some other options what we can pick up. You guys have a suggestion for a walkie-talkie. That works a lot better. That could kind of save our ass. When we’re out in the desert. Or especially when we’re skiing out in the glades.

Paddles right camera radios. This is the Midland 75 – 8 – 2 CB radio. We commonly refer to. This one as our Swiss Army knife a CB radios. Because you know it can kind of cover. All bases and a bunch of different scenarios right. Now the radio is set up as a handheld has. This really short you know eight-inch duct antenna on. It and then it has a battery pack on the bottom here but. You can actually easily remove the battery pack just like. That and then attach on an included car kit. And then use the antenna in your vehicle power. It with it you know you’re just traditional cigarette lighter. And then attach you know PL 259 connection. And an external antenna. And then use the antenna in the same way. You would of course also pop off the little rubber duck antenna there let’s take a closer look at. All these features so. You can see what the Midland 75 looks like with just a car kit attached on there. And then you know it’s just easy as. You know initial pulling up on. That little button there. And then sliding it off.

And then you can attach. Either this battery pack. This battery pack right here holds um six batteries six double-a batteries but. It also comes with a battery pack. That holds eight double-a rechargeable batteries. And a battery charger. Now just keep in mind. If you are going to use. This battery pack you have to use rechargeable batteries. And that’s the only time. That you can use you know your AC wall charger. And that just plugs in. You know to the side of. That just keep in mind again rechargeable batteries only with. This and then here is. That small duct style antenna so. If you are using that. You just twist that onto the radio. And it’s that easy the radio itself has a bunch of different features. It actually has NOAA Weather Channel’s in addition to traditional TV channels. And it also has some channel scanning features. You can actually set five of your. Iguess favorite channels on. This and then you can set the radio to scan in between those. It also has channel 9 to 19 a back light has a port for you know a speaker.

And a microphone so. Whether you just want to. You know use headphones with the radio. Or something like that. Or if you want to attach. Some kind of look lapel mic. You can also do that with the midland 75 8 to 2 like. Isaid this radio is gonna be ideal for just. Anybody looking you know for flexibility to use the radio in the field. Or use it in a car. Or if they’re just looking for a CB radio. That can be easily moved from vehicle to vehicle that’s kind of nice at the car kit. You know maybe paired up with a magnetic antenna only probably real downside to know about the 7580 too is. That if you are using it as a handheld just kind of like similar with. All CB radio handhelds you’re not really gonna get out. That far with this. Iprobably wouldn’t count on a handheld CB to. You know probably communicate. More than like a quarter to a half a mile but. If you want to get out just make use the car kit.

And you know attach. You know Wilson little will. Or Wilson 1000 who really be able to get out. And communicate well again. This is Midland 75 8 to 2.

introducing Midland 75-80 to CB radio. This unit is really ingenious really versatile. And is pretty much the Swiss Army knife of the CB world. You why what you can do is. You can use this unit in two different functionalities. You can use it as a handheld CB radio which I’ve got. It as right now so you’ve got the topple unit here which is the radio. One unit and for now we’ve got the bottom battery pack slash charger here which takes 8 batteries so an additional battery pack well not a charger. You can put 6 batteries in. And hook it on the same way to use the radio. Now with the inclusion. And the attachment of the external antenna here go ahead. And screw that on to the top. And take off it in the field here’s. It uh hiking or on the side of the road anywhere outside your car just like. Any other handheld CB radio. Now let’s say we want to use. This in the vehicle well we’d love to make use of an external CB antenna for optimal transmission. And reception capabilities that’s. This ingenious connection comes in for MIDI. This connection right here plugs in to the bottom of the handheld unit permanently slides on their attaches to. It provide a handheld unit much like other handheld units with the exception of the bottom part which provides two things. On the power which is a standard cigarette plug. You can plug into any serial adapter powers. And units so no batteries are needed but. More importantly this is the external PL 259 compatible external antenna connection. What this allows you to do is hook up.

Any standard external antenna for use with the radio so benefits being you can use the handheld in the field. You come back into the car just slide. It rights into its little case here. And automatically you’ve got a powered cu radio which is using a large external antenna. Now let’s go ahead this back on here. And demonstrate a few the functions with the handheld unit you’ve got a number of functions on. It’s a it’s a really well featured. And versatile unit on top you’ve got squelch. And volume squelch and volume here as well as the ducky antenna input here. And speaker output functionality on the side you’ve got the channel operations up. And down as well as your push-to-talk button here on the sides you’ve got memory dual watch for checking out two channels at the same time you’ve got weather capabilities which is a really nice feature allowing you to stay up to date on current weather updates.

Or severe conditions channel lock. And a number of other attractive features so it’s a real full-featured radio so the entire package includes. Everything you need to get started including the adapter for the permanent installation the handheld radio unit as well as two battery packs. One here that uses six batteries. And a charger that uses eight batteries AC adapter for using the charger. And charging up those batteries as well as an external antenna for use in the field so again. If you’re looking for something. That really combines the best of. Both worlds being able to use your radio in the field but be able to seamlessly transition into a permanent installation in a vehicle taking advantage of a external antenna for peak transmission.

And reception range. You really are not going to find anything they can do. It better more efficiently. Than the Midland 75 a 22 to purchase. You guys watched our red knob pill video you’ll remember. That our walkie-talkies conked out. We weren’t really sure. We were about two miles away from our shuttle my friend Jen. Iwill continue on over. Now Ineed to be not copied. That oh yeah you got a half mile further. Ithought one mile continue on would. You like me to continue on. Or turn back in a day to peanut uh-uh. One my oh my yet nine ate a peanut do. You hear I believe we’re out of touch Nene Ican’t hear you I’m heading back. You don’t do things a piece of crap. This is why we are not riding our bikes. They named a peanut yeah. You heard and then. That was and went dead.

Now I’m at the I think there’s supposed to be a decimal point after the two. And twenty-eight there’s no way. This is a 28-mile range radio copy. These are $50 radios they’re supposed to have a 28-mile range which is really hard to believe. Iwent a mile that was a stretch. Ididn’t really go through. Anything major we’re not in an inner city just in open woods. Iwent through one intersection at a mile. She could hear I could hear her but then. That was it cut out so legitimately.

That would be great. And throw it down in the comments for us hit. That subscribe button for the motion thanks for watching catch. You next time she interrupts. Me she’s out for right. Idoing do I look like. That guy from that thing anyways yeah. You guys watched our video

Hello youtube this is marcus again with. Another video today’s video is gonna be a product review. This is the cobra HH 38 WX st it’s a handheld 40 channels am CB radio. Iordered I used to have a little middle in the 75 – 785 handheld CB. Iwas out walking around in the woods. You know just generally walking around the property. Ineeded to holler at my wife. Icould holler on the handheld. She would hear me here on the base station. We can communicate locally especially in spots. Where maybe the cell phone didn’t work very well. It was a little bit. More convenient I had thought about getting one of these for quite a. Ihad the Midland these have like weather band. And dual watch and a couple of additional features at the midland didn’t have but the midland was like 20 bucks brand-new. And at the root local radio shack. This was like 70 or 80 bucks so. Ididn’t bother with buying one of these until the midland actually tore up but anyway let’s go ahead. And get into the overview like. Isaid it’s a 40-channel am only a handheld CB radio it’s powered by.

Either nine double-a batteries. Or by a power cord here. That comes with you plug into a 12-volt outlet in your car. You have an inter supply in your house. You can plug that as well. It can charge the 9-volt battery batteries. You put in it so like. You purchase rechargeable double-a batteries. It does have a port on the side. You can plug the power cord into charge. That is a separate and different power cord. You want to use rechargeable batteries in your Cobra 38. You can but you have to go to Cobras website. And purchase one of these it’s a separate cord with a different size can are on the end. You can see there’s actually a separate jack here on the side labeled charge.

That is the you plug in to recharge the batteries. While they’re in the radio without having to take them out. And put them in your regular charger. You know like most chargers only hold. Or two batteries we’ve got. That holds for so you know. You got to do it in two. Or three settings so it’s nice to just be able to leave them in the radio plug the cord Ian. Although you do have to order. This separately this does not come with the radio. This does not say Cobra anywhere on. You could probably just use. Any cord that has the right size tip. And meets the voltage regular requirements of. You know matches the voltage. And amperage required output of. This charger so you can see here. Iactually ordered off of Cobras website says input 100 to 240 volts so 50 to 60 Hertz so. You could use this in Europe obviously. You would have to get an adapter to plug the american-style plug into a European plug but. It can handle the the different voltage. And n frequency of the European electricity system.

It outputs 16 volts at 100 milliamps so. You could get a charge cord. That matches those specs. This size tip you could probably just go ahead. That to charge the batteries. If you’ve already got. One lying around but anyway let’s get to the radio itself here on the front. You can see you’ve got. Several buttons across the face you’ve got your normal power slash volume. And scuola knobs up top. You have a 50 ohm BNC connected rubber ducky antenna. That comes with and on the side here. It has four buttons the top. That turns on the back light for the screen. These two are your channel up. And down this is your push-to-talk to transmit let’s go ahead. And turn it on here. And there now the back light goes off. It receives a signal after three. Or four seconds if it’s dark.

You want to see what’s on the screen. You can just press this top button. It turns the back off back on for a second got your channel up. And down you push the talk. And on the front here. You can let’s just go left to right. You see top left here we’ve got a lot button. One is actually kind of recessed. And smaller than the rest of these. These are actually pronounced. This one’s kind of recessed. You actually have to use. Either the corner of your thumbnail. Or maybe like an ink pen. Something to press and hold. This for three or four seconds. And it’ll beep you can see there’s a little lock icon on the top right. Once the screen is locked oh. You cannot change a channel. You cannot press any of these buttons. You can transmit you can adjust the square. And volume and turn the unit off but. You can’t change any of the settings on the radio so let’s go ahead. And unlock it here alright the next. One is the sound tracker button for those of. You don’t know sound tracker is a technology.

That Cobra has in a lot of their radios. This is the first radio. That I’ve ever personally owned. That has it seems to. Me to help with audio in noisy. Or weak signal conditions I’ve seen videos. Where people said it didn’t do. Anything or it didn’t help in my experience. It actually does help a little bit. What it seems to do. It seems to be like a combined noise blanker. And an automatic noise limiter. Something else that kind of changes the pitch of the received audio I’ll I’ll demonstrate. It here in a little bit on. One of the weather bands it’s got kind of weak signal. It actually in some cases. It kind of makes the voice sound a little bit over modulated like maybe it’s clipping part of. And making it a little bit louder. It does sometimes bring in signals. You kind of have trouble understanding them. And make them a little bit.

More intelligible the next button over. You can see these two buttons actually have double functions. And there’s a function button on the right over here. You press to access. These secondary functions the bottom. One is the bottom function is the. That will happen you just press the button by itself so. This next button over is gonna be your CB w CB / weather band button. And go back to CB mode. You press function and then. That button it actually puts. It into power-save mode which takes. It from a four watt carrier down to about a 1 watt carrier. Idid put it on a watt meter. And that’s actually pretty close to. What it’s actually doing it’s a just a little bit shy of 4 watts which is normal. They don’t want to get snagged by the FCC.

It actually goes a little bit over. And it’s just a little bit over 1 watt. You know right in the neighborhood of a 1 watt carrier in Power Save mode so. If you’re really close to. Somebody you just don’t want to burn your batteries up but. You can put it in Power Save mode reduce your carrier strength. And still communicate but save battery power next. One over is instant channel 9. And 19 press it goes to 9 twice. It goes to 19 3 times. It goes back to you were. One is also your dual watch button. One works a little bit differently. What dual watch does is. It actually bounces back. And forth between two channels so let’s say you’re like a neighborhood watch.

Something or you’re in an area. Where there’s important traffic. You want to listen to on two different channels. You can set those two channels in your dual watch. And it’ll actually bounce back. And forth and monitor two channels at. One time so the way. That works is you press the function button well. Iam before that first thing you got to do is set. It on the first channel. You want to monitor so in. This case we’re let’s just say we’re gonna do channel 37. Ibelieve that is yeah. All right you press function press. And hold this until. It beats, and then we’ll go up to channel 40 press. And hold you can see its backing going back.

And forth between 37. And 40 would you say their emergency there. We go so now we’re back out of. And it’s just bothering channel 40 the last button over here is scan. And that’s a full channel scan. That does is it just scans. All 40 channels until. Something breaks the squelch so. You do have to have your squelch set so. That it’s not picking up. Anything on us on a quiet channel to eliminate background noise. And stuff you just press scan. What that’s useful for is let’s say you’re in a new area like let’s say you’re going up onto a job site. You don’t know what channel the truck drivers on. That job site are actually running on.

You can just press scan. And it’ll scan through. All 40 channels it hears. Something it’ll stop on. That channel and to continue scanning want to catch is. Something you actually have to press the Scan button again. It finds a signal and stops that’s gonna be. You land you stay until. You press scan again alright on the back side you’ve got your battery cover you’ve got a plastic belt clip feels pretty well-made overall. It does have on the side here next to the power in charge ports. It has a microphone. And speaker jack next to. Each other they actually sell a combination microphone. And speaker unit that plugs into. Both of these it wants. You can clip onto like your lapel so. If your security guard. Or neighborhood watch. Something you can actually like clip. This on your belt and have. That little external microphone that’s clipped up on your shirt as with just about. Anything you can also take. This BNC antenna off. Either purchase a better.

You can use one of these adapters here to adapt. It over to a normal SL 239 so. You can plug in the coax. Either in your house. You have like a magnet mount antenna. Something in your car. You can also connect. That to instead of the rubber duckie overall I’m pretty pleased with the radio. And does what I need. It to do it fulfills the purposes. Iwanted it’s kind of nice. It also has weather band duel watch channel scan a backlit screen a key lock button it’s got a built-in charge port. Ican keep the batteries in. It charged without having to remove them four at a time. And charge them in my little cradle it’s got the sound tracker which does help so overall I’m pretty pleased with the radio let’s connect. It over here to my 75 ohm passive antenna system we’re not going to transmit obviously but it’s going to be perfectly fine for listening in on the weather band. We can find a weak channel to demonstrate. What sound tracker actually does here so let’s turn the volume up here.

All right so you hear. That signal is kind of stat icky. And a little bit weak that’s. What the sound tracker off right. And I’m going to push the sound tracker on here in just a second. Iput the sound record. All up again they sound like they’re on that’s actually the good here’s. What I was talking about. How about how sometimes. It kind of makes a voice sound a little bit over modulated. This is the soundtrack for understand. Iwasn’t there before so the sound tracker does help in. Some situations now it’s not gonna take over. You know it’s not gonna magically make. You able to hear people. You couldn’t hear at. All before but if there is a signal in there that’s a little bit weak. And maybe they’re being taken out by white noise. It might help in situations like. That maybe you’ve got. Some electrical noise nearby. If you’re sitting in front of a business.

Something like if you’re looking for a decent handheld CB radio. And you’re not you know. You don’t you’re not worried about the fact. This costs 70 or 80 bucks brand-new. You know maybe 50 you can find it on a deal on Walmart. Something this is actually a pretty good unit I’ve tested. It up to a mile or two away from the house which is. You know plenty for what I’m gonna be using it for you’re obviously not going to get near the performance out of. This antenna as you would on a magnet mount. Or a base station antenna but for what it is it’s actually a pretty good product. Idid put some dielectric grease on the BNC connector up here to kind of keep water out ever since. Iwill be using it outside the manual does not say. That it’s waterproof so. Iwouldn’t war I wouldn’t try submerging it. Anything of that nature but.

You know what it is. You guys have any comments questions concerns. Or suggestions please feel free to post them in the comment section below. If there’s anything else. You want to know about. This radio I didn’t go over please like. Isaid comment send. Me a message also another channel called East Kentucky CB radio operator. You may have seen it the icon is like a little radio tower I’ve got a handful of CB radio related videos over there but I’m thinking about going ahead. And just putting any future CB radio videos back here on my main channel I’ve got a lot. More subscribers more interaction from users on the videos. That get uploaded to. This channel I don’t make CB radio related videos. That often so it doesn’t really weren’t having an entirely separate channel for those types of videos but. If you’d like go check. It out like I said it’s called East Kentucky CB radio operator. And the icon is a little flat. And black antenna tower but anyway. You guys enjoyed the video.

This is Marcus out y’all have a good.

You know it’s important to be able to communicate with others in business. That relates to Skype. It relates to using your phone. And there’s a lot of ways to do. You know I’m a huge fan of Cobra. What they’ve done with their headsets before. Now here’s what I want to show. One is the CB th v you can see it’s there. It gives you a lot of capability real small. That goes over the ear. We have Megan Murphy joining us to tell. Us about that so Megan tell. Is a little bit about. This unit what it does CB th v is a great dual-purpose unit. You can use it as a mono headset. You can use it as a stereo headset so. If you’d like to pair. It with your phone you can listen to music wirelessly. You can pair it with your computer. You can Skype with you know keep in touch overseas stuff like. We could use this with Skype. You have one of these. You can put on your ear so. We can see what it looks like. Because your ear looks so nice and it’s always so good to see. That it’s a nice small headset it’s a comfortable fit it’s got a five-hour talk time five hours of music streaming and 300 hours of standby time. You can use as the mono headset with just the. One ear hook you can simply remove. This ear hook and put in the wired earbud.

And turn it into a stereo headset it’s great. You want to go running if. You want to go skiing and you’re listening to music. And a call comes in the music will shut off. And then you can take the call. Or choose to ignore. And keep jamming out to your music very nice. Iwould imagine something like. This so we’re going to buy. This is probably going to cost. Is a couple thousand dollars. Because it’s worth that right, so I’m setting you up on. What about you so in but. It doesn’t cost a thousand dollars. You know for a CES special. Iwill give you a deal I’m going to say 5995 5995. How about that at least it’s not $60 exactly. You five cents there. We go alright more information on. This is the CVT h5 from Cobra. Even scan it there.

You got a little scanner there standing but. Idon’t know we can scan. Once it’s on video I don’t know. We can try but somebody out there. Somebody out there in the land of computers. And technology and give. That a shot if they want to go to the website what’s the website to go to. You would go to Cobra hands-free comm Cobra hands-free calm. And we’ll see that spelled out there on the screen right below Cobra hands-free comm yes. It is very good it thanks.
