As the name implies, the Simms Men’s G3 Guide Felt Boot is designed for industry pros who spend upwards of 200 days per year on the river, but you don’t have to go out quite that much to appreciate this wading boot. The G3 Guide Felt is built with a RiverTread platform to enhance your proprioception as you wade, making your feet feel less clumsy when you can’t see them. The felt sole provides traction on slippery rocks and slimy banks, so you can smoothly make your way across the river to find the perfect spot. Conscientious anglers should always check local restrictions about felt wading boots, and be mindful of the possibility of transferring invasive species on their boots.
Welcome to the fly fishers and the fly fishers calm today we’re gonna be talking about some sims product videos my name is tony ferry I’m with sims fishing we’re gonna take a look today at. The new g3 guide boot totally re-engineered and redesigned for 2018 sims took a proven winner and made it. Better starting just looking at the boot. Itself contemporary looks we’ve lowered the height of the boot about oh 10 millimeters it’s about 3/8 of an inch should make it a little easier on and off we’ve added new hardware and in fact. We’ve added extra set of our hardware down low towards a toe for a true lace to toe design gives you a little bit. Better fit a little more customizable we also added locking hardware where the. Lace starts to come up the ankle the. Idea here is you can cinch your laces down walk around a little bit finish lacing up make sure your boot is custom and in feeling right on your foot. Construction wise from a material standpoint we’re using a scratch rubber. Upper a waterproof nu buck leather sort. Of synonymous with the guide boot or g3 boot molded tpu heel cups as well as a. New molded tpu heel pull on makes it. Super easy to hook your fingers pull the boot onto your heel and you’re getting set to hit the river from a rubber. Standpoint we’ve redone the outsole still. Using the vibram hydro grip it’s four millimeters thick it is the grittiest rubber for river in wet environments. Moving into just the interior neoprene. Line makes the boot easy on easy off. Really and some nice updates cosmetically now let’s take a look at what’s going on under the hood the rubber itself we’ve moved our preferred. Stud and cleat placement you’ll notice it creates a pattern out along the periphery all edges we’ve been building boots for a while and figured this is one of the best patterns and trying to. Help our anglers understand how to do this a little bit better looking at the sole itself it’s a true getting to be a. True rubber cup sole you’ve got bonding in support and heel — and then both lateral and. Medial side of the foot allows for just a better fit and a more. Durable longer-lasting performance again. The stud placement or cleat placement then coordinates into the. Midsole these orange pieces are a harder. Polyurethane material thing of it as a. Stud in a wall if you were gonna run a screw into a wall there’s no stud it’ll go in and out but if you hit that stud it grabs it and holds the thread of a screw so that’s what’s keeping that in place you’ll as well. Notice that we’ve added that again heal. Clip molded into the mid sole so as the. Foot is locked down with your lacing it. Really keeps the heel in place for a more positive fit at sims we like to. Keep durability and comfort in mind so. We’re gonna use a little harder eba along the exterior of the boot and then a softer e va under the foot gives. You a little bit more feel what’s going. On underneath you the footbed itself has. A light layer of e va for cushioning and support and that’s reinforced with a carbon heel and a softer flexible. Forefoot so you’ll notice where the color change occurs that really mimics. And breaks as the foot a human foot really works the g3 boot again redesigned for 2018. Comes in at 229 available at the fly. Fishers or the fly fishers comm appreciate your time thanks.
If you prefer to work an entire stretch of river instead of casting different flies to the same fish in the same over-fished hole all day, then lace up the Patagonia Men’s Ultralight Felt-Soled Wading Boot. The synthetic leather and Venergy mesh uppers are lightweight and fast draining, which allows your feet to feel light and nimble when you move upstream or head to the other side of the river in search of your new honey hole. Through years of hard use mono filament mesh drains the footbed while keeping out sand and silt the external rand. Polypropylene insole board and reinforced toe box protect your feet from deep water pressure and rocky river bottoms the mid sole is made with comfortable shock absorbing full-length molded eba foam for long slogs to the. River the rock grip sticky rubber soles. Provide great traction on slippery and uneven surfaces they’re designed to hold. Fin straps and accept studs which are sold separately I’m stoked to have a women’s fishing boot in our lineup the. Women’s ultralight weighting boot is comfortable durable lightweight and it has purple laces.
Hi I’m dave allen I’m the fly-fishing sales rep for patagonia, and we are looking at the patagonia waiting boot lineup and specifically looking at the new ultralight boot this is the most. Popular boot in the line we updated this. Boot for the spring 2016 line and the. Main update is we just beefed it up a little bit we didn’t want to walk away from that fast and light category this boot is only 2 ounces heavier than the previous iteration, but we definitely. Made it a much more durable boot and we. Beefed up the upper considerably most notably we brought the rubber rand up considerably higher in the boot it’s now triple stitched in we moved the eyelets. From plastic to metal eyelets which makes them much more durable in my opinion the most important durability update to this boot is no matter who the. Manufacturer is the most common area. I’ve seen a boot blowout is gonna be that inside seam i think we’ve all seen that and so as you can see here on both sides of the boot we brought the rubber rand up and tucked it in behind the first two eyelets to prevent that lateral blowout from happening in the. Boot the ultralight boot comes in two sole bottoms you get a felt sole bottom as well as a rubber sole bottom the felt sole is stitched and glued in so it. Won’t shouldn’t be falling off and the other option the ultralight boot also comes in a soft rubber sole as well some. Of our competitors like use vibram there’s a great rubber composite. For long time durability it’s great for. A hiking boot but not necessarily great for walking around the trout stream the. Barometer or stiffness of rubber because. You could compare it to say like the tires you know your summer tire road. Tire is gonna be much harder and it’s. Gonna last much longer but it’s gonna be very slippery and you’re more slippery wet snow conditions you know you want a softer rubber for the slippery conditions like a snow tire which means it’s going to wear a little bit faster. But that’s why we oversize the lugs and the tread on the bottom of the boot to account for that additional wear. So if you’re doing a lot of hiking a lot of rock jumping you know rubber soled boot is a way to go but with that softer. Rubber you’ll get much better traction. For a rubber sole boot we’re at 189 this. Is a lightest weight most popular. Especially hiking in and out of. The back country waiting move in the line. You.
Hey gang we will hear from the ash land fly shop and today we’re reviewing the ultralight, or they revised ultralight boot from patagonia and as we’re heading. Into our first fall fishing season now. We’re really excited to have this boot in the lineup it fits in a really nice place between some of our more heavy-duty boots that are more like hiking boots and then some of our lighter more economic boots that are they’re a little bulky a little heavy the ultralight boot sits right in a sweet spot there and it’s made with really high-end materials it’s very. Lightweight but the revised version we like a lot more because they kind of brought the round up on the boot a. Little bit higher and i think it’s gonna end up being a bit more durable boot. Which is some of the issues we had with the original tour ultralight boot i was. Fortunate enough to grab this boot and take it up to bc with me on a trip just a few weeks ago and just perform. Beautifully I’d been having a little trouble with fit and a couple of my other boots and then also i didn’t want. To take rubber up there and so the felt. Boot the ultralight boot just worked perfectly it fit fantastic and. Just performed flawlessly for me really a nice supple boot it really. Moved well when i was waiting so if you have trouble with a stiff boot or a boot that’s not really moving very well with your foot i encourage you to give this one a try because that’s what i really got out of it’s really flexible it really moved with me and i appreciated. That very much from the boot it’s got a. Nice high collar so grab my ankle well. But again still allowed me to move around quite a bit as i stumbled over many large rocks and yeah just was. A great just was a great performer for me and i just wanted to pass that along to you it’s 189, and we have them in. Stock here at the ash land fly shop so thanks for tuning in.

With a solid three-layer construction, reinforced knees, and high-density booties, the Palix River is a solid wader that doesn’t cost too much more than what you’ll blow in a month on the cheap beer and gas station grub that you’ll grab along the way to your favorite stretch of water. The Palix River Waders come with all the essentials with gravel guards, waist belt, and suspenders all included, but they also have a single chest pocket with two vertical handwarmer pockets—a nice upgrade from those camo neoprene waders you started out with.

Hey I’m corey from avid max right now. I’m going to talk to you about the Eddington felix river waders this is a three layer waiter from Eddington excellent value lots of features for the. Money so this waiter first of all we’ll. Start at the top has nice comfortable shoulder straps to be worn as a chest. Waiter one of the cool things is that you can also wear this is a waist level. Waiter so the reason you can do that is. These straps are basically opposable so. They hook together so to turn it into a waist level waiter we’ll just roll this. Down take those shoulder straps and it. Turns into a belt keeps that all in place like that so that’s now a pant. Later so start so that’s the shoulder straps. Converted it into a waist pant as well so another cool feature is we have some. Cinch straps right here at the top so you can cinch that down if it’s really cold out you want to cinch that up keep. All the cold weather out or it’s warm out you want a little extra airflow you can stretch that out or if you’re wearing a coat or something heavy you might want to adjust that a little bit inside the waiter here is a flip-out. Pocket this pocket i like to keep like. My wallet or my phone or my car keys in here that way I’m not going to drop them in the water, and they’re going to stay waterproof inside here so this different isn’t waterproof but because they flip. Inside the waiter like that chances are it’s not going to get wet on the outside we have a very water-resistant pocket so. That pocket you can keep some you know fly fishing gear fly box nippers. Clippers leaders tip at all that kind of stuff then we have a fleece-lined hand warmer. Pocket so this pocket goes all the way through fleece line nice and cozy if. You’re out there on the water your hands get a little bit chilly you can warm them up warm them up right inside there next thing is we have a waiting belt the. Waiting belt is built-in that basically keeps that does two things for you one. That keeps the pants up, so they don’t fall down keeps it nice and snug it has loops so that that belt stays in place but the other thing is for safety waiting belts basically keep it so that if you fall in the water your pant legs don’t fill up with water. Right away if your waders completely fill up with water if you fall in the river it’s going to be very hard to stand up and you’re just going to shoot down the river so it’s a safety feature you should always wear a wading belt these waders come with the wading belt. Next thing is they have to layer reinforced knee area so that. Reinforcement goes all the way down to the shin that way if you’re kneeling down on the ground if you’re landing a fish you kneel down close to the water or if you’ve got to take a break and kneel down you’re not going to mess up the waders a little bit of extra protection there and then the last thing is we have a standard gravel guard that. Gravel guard designed to keep rocks and. Debris out of the your wading boots and then you have a hook that goes and clips on to the laces of the. Boots and then you have a very high. Density neoprene booties so that keeps your feet warm if you’re in a cold river everything keeps everything dry at the same time so again this is the Eddington pale its river waiter check. Then out on at evan max calm you can also see more of our fly fishing and outdoor related videos on our abbot max youtube channel subscribe, and we’ll see you out there.

Boost the warmth of your Hodgman waders with the Men’s Core Ins Wader Liners. Hodgman uses zoned Thinsulate insulation in the leg and hip areas which are submerged most often to keep your lower body from freezing from the frigid bite of the cold water. If you work up a sweat while hiking to your favorite fishing spot, this breathable insulation keeps you warm while letting the build up of moisture escape for dry comfort. Plus, the fleece upper ensures coziness above the water, and the simple on-and-off design allows you to slip in and out of the waders easily while eliminating binding at your knees.
Fishing in the summer means you don’t always need your bulky waders and boots to keep your feet from freezing. Wear the Simms Men’s Atoll Wide Flip Flops, and enjoy the feeling of the water rushing over your toes as you wade. These sandals have razor-siped gum rubber outsoles to grip slippery banks, and EVA midsoles to absorb impact as you make your way to and from the water. Fully lined with neoprene, the Atoll keeps you comfortable throughout long hours on the water, and doesn’t stand out when you head back into town for dinner.
Keeping your tippet options right at hand can mean the difference in casting at the right moment during a hatch, or hiking back to your gear and missing prime opportunities. The Simms Tippet Tender Wader Pouch zips into compatible Simms waders to secure not only your tippet, but also other gear you may need on the water. Its low-profile design is lightweight and stays out of your way while casting, yet its three pockets and attachment point keep plenty of gear at your fingertips so you can re-rig at a moment’s notice.
Between the swift current and slick river bottom, it can be intimidating to step out into the middle of a river, much less wade across it. The Caddis Northern Guide Platinum Wading Shoe gives you the necessary bite to wade across swift rivers and mossy rocks thanks to an aggressive rubber sole that can be equipped with metal studs (included) for extra traction.
Whether your livelihood depends on wading into waters or your fly-fishing hobby has taken on a life of its own, the Simms Men’s G3 Guide Bootfoot Felt Waders will keep you dry and warm. Gore-Tex Pro 5-layer fabric climbs up your legs, stopping at mid-thigh. Basically a club sandwich of waterproof, breathable protection, 2 layers of Gore-Tex laminate sit prettily between three pieces of durable, supple shell and lining layers. Water doesn’t stand of a chance of getting inside, and Gore-Tex technology makes it 25% more breathable than other 5-layer laminates. Gore-Tex Pro 3-layer fabric covers your bum and stops at the upper edges of the bib. A bit lighter than what covers your legs, this 3-layer laminate still stops water with ease while letting your casting-caused sweat escape.
Deliberate design eliminates seam wear issues on your inner thighs, and Gore-Seam tape ensures stitching stays secure and needle holes are fully sealed. Thick and warm 7mm high-density neoprene stocking feet have grid fleece to help you stay warm when you’re walking in cold water or standing still in a cool stream. The 2mm high-density, abrasion-resistant gravel guard withstands the wear and tear of wading. The felt soles keep your feet light and responsive so walking stays simple, even when you’re crossing slippery stream beds.
The Tippet Tender Pocket comes off if you’re escaping the rigors of guiding for a quick morning at your favorite, secret spot. Also for walking the beaches in Cape Cod i use a mine in Cape Cod and if you’ve ever walked a beach with a regular wading boots you know that you end up with a couple of pounds of sand in each boot by the end of the day well with boot foot waders you keep the sand out so whether you are fishing a cold. Steelhead run or a warm sandy beach in Cape Cod blue foot waiters are the way to go check out these sims g3 guide boot foot. Waiters and get comfortable.
Howdy friends brian flechsig of mad river outfitters in the midwest fly fish school and I’m here today to talk to you about the brand-new for 2018 sims g3. Guide stocking foot waders for 2018 we. Hammer now to deal with our good friends at sims, and they are now a sponsor of the midwest fly-fishing schools and therefore I’ve been sporting these g3s. All season long and i tell you i told a. Rep tony the other day i said i never. Knew what waiters were and i know yeah. I’m a salesman but I’m not exaggerating i never knew what waiters were this is one of the finest pair waiters ever made. In the history of the sport, and they are sims number one selling pair of waders. So yeah they’re pricey but let me tell. You they’re worth it the g threes. They’ve really made some great updates. For 2018 and i think mostly the fit. These things just fit so well they come. In 25 different sizes so you’re gonna. Find a to fit you but they’re made a. Three-layer gore-tex pro shell material. On the upper and the chest and then four. Layer pro gore-tex pro shall in the legs. And the seat where it matters now they. Also feature a zippered chest pocket. That can zip in and out if you don’t. Want it there you can also replace it with a waterproof version but this is a. Tippet tender type pocket it also has a docking station for a retractor or what. Have you this is usually where i will end up keeping my cell phone or cam what have you but then it has a zippered. Chest pocket here it has micro fleece. Line hand warmer pocket here and then. You have a little velcro fly patch you. Can use it as is or you can get one of. The sims little fly patches with velcro. On the back and stick it on there the. Low-profile belt loops which are really. Really nice and it comes with the 2-inch stretch waiting belt you have the. Patented front and back leg seams now. This is pretty smart it’s instead of having the seams on the sides where they used to be like you have on a pair of pants that keeps where you get a lot of abrasion there it keeps. Then from wearing on the insides where. Your legs are rubbing together really smart design you have an adjustable one. And a half inch suspender system the. Suspenders are really great comfortable also with alternating buckles so you can. Roll it around your waist and then clip. The suspenders so you wind up with a waist high you do have a highly. Abrasion resistant gravel guards I’ve. Seen a lot of waders over the years when the gravel guards wear out and get torn up these are highly abrasion resistant they also have the hook to. Hook on to your wading shoes and then of. Course the articulated right and left. Foot neoprene stocking foot and these. Also have an antimicrobial treatment so to them, so they don’t want wind up stinking on it i think those are the. Primary features that it’s but i just. Can’t say enough about the new for 2018. Sims g3 guide stocking foot waders you. Of course can check them out as matter of route fitters comm and then don’t forget you can also pair them up with the new for 2018 sims g3 guide boot.
