Helmets consist of a shell and a liner. The shell is made from a high-impact ABS plastic. It is designed to scatter an impact over a larger area and also protect your head against scrapes and pokes from things like branches. The liner is as a general rule an EPS foam core. It must absorb some of the impacts that your head would normally take when you hit it on the tree, a rock, ground, etc.
Goggles are protective glasses which prevent your eyes from contact with snow and dust. They are important for safe and comfortable snowboarding.

Your helmet is as essential to shredding as your ski poles or your snowboard boots, so it shouldn’t feel like a burden when you’re wearing one. The Smith Women’s Vantage Helmet offers lightweight and stylish protection with features designed to enhance comfort and provide superior safety on the slopes.
This season, Smith engineered the Vantage with Aerocore construction, which combines lightweight EPS construction with revolutionary Koroyd material. This unique material absorbs more impact than traditional foams while simultaneously improving breathability and reducing weight and bulk. The result is greater comfort, a lighter feel, and improved protection. AirEvac 2 ventilation features 21 vents that can be fully opened on warm spring days, partially closed when temps drop, or completely shut in the middle of a snowstorm.
The Nanosilver lining has a women-specific fit and anti-odor features that keep the helmet from getting too funky. The Snapfit SL2 Ear Pads provide a warm and cozy seal around your ears on colder days, and they’re removable for comfort of warm spring days. Plus, they’re compatible with Skullcandy audio systems (sold separately) so you can crank up the tunes to keep you stoked while you shred.
This is what’s left of my 2014 Smith Vantage helmet. I really like everything about the features but just wanted to share my experience. Taking a good hit with it. Took a hit to the back of the head. I caught a heel side edge and landed on some ice as you can see. Like a good single impact helmet got lots of cracking right around the area of impact but then also other cracks throughout the shell all the way up to the front as that energy is dispersed.
This is their choroid material that they claim disperses the energy 30% more effectively. For my money I got up. I was laughing. I did not realize how hard I had hit and I rode the rest of the day. That’s why I have another one of these in the mail so Smith Vantage highly recommended.

Hi everybody! Sean Sewell with in-game accom here. We are our here in Colorado testing out the Sweet Protection trooper nips helmet. This orange guy right here this has a really sweet home for a lot of reasons. Yes, it has mips technology so that goes with your head and all that wonderful stuff, but they have a dual density system that will go into further details in the written review below but essentially it has different kinds of foams in different places to best protect your head in any given situation.
One of our favorite features of this helmet is its compactness. It’s very streamlined compared to la blair helmets. This is a size small medium up to 55 centimeters is what they recommend. My head’s right at 55 centimeters so it fits me very snugly. It’s almost too snug but just about right. There’s no gapping moving back and forth. It is dialed in history. As you probably saw back here the goggle strap is easy to use big old snap right there goes into place.
There are air bands right here. You can easily manipulate back and forth where are they. Easy breezy, they circulate all the way through the helmet. It’s pretty lightweight as well. It’s like the ultimate protection. It’s really high-end well how they msrp on a given website. Below here some cons a little bit of gap in with the smith io7 goggles just a slight bit you can feel a breeze a little bit not. They’re not a game changer.
One of my favorite features though is actually the ear pads. They’re not as well insulated as some of the helmets but that’s to our benefit here the back country cuz I can hear my tour buddies a lot better. They’re nice ear pads, they go right to hear very well by key here very well — so big plus my book. Overall great helmet from a great company. A lot of technology packed into this puppy. They’ve made to keep you safe from impact. We’ll have all further specs on the review below an endearment calm. Have fun and safe season!
