Features that you're looking for organization and a pack that's going to. Carry a heavy load comfortably now. Unlike extended trip packs where they've. Got heavy features this has really. Stripped-down features lightweight materials those materials are also very durable and strong and the suspension. System here really gives you the ability. To carry the load so I'm going to turn the pack around and talk about the suspension system I've got Gregory's cross flow dts suspension system and. Again it's pretty lightweight it gives. You a lot of ventilation with this. Tension back panel you can see all of that mesh there and i can put my hand. Behind it so you know that you've got all the ventilation that you need behind the scenes there you can see a cross pattern for the frame that is a. Lightweight spring frame and what i like. About that is it gives the rigidity that you need in the pack to give stability and to transfer the weight of the load to your hips but it will move with you. Because it's the cross pattern it will flex a little bit as you move so this pack doesn't feel boxy it feels like as you move going up and down hill it's. Going to move with you and then you as well. Have behind the scenes a hdpe frame sheet that gives rigidity to but it's. Nice and lightweight now you have a va. Foam where you need it there on the lumbar pad it's a really comfortable lumbar pad and then behind the shoulder. Straps you have die cut foam that foam. Keeps you comfortable and unlike lightweight or ultra light. Weight backpacks this foam gives you plenty of cushioning so really. Comfortable cushioning on the shoulders and a lot of cushioning on the hip belt and the hip belt does have a little bit of rigidity to it too so it definitely carries the load well now. Obviously you've got your load lifter straps up here that give you some adjust ability this comes in three different sizes so you can't actually adjust the harness up and down but you. Can use the those load lifters to dial in the fit and just choose the. Particular size that's right for your. Torso in addition to the adjust ability. There you do have an adjustable sternum straps you can move that up and down. While I'm on the back of the pack you do have a hydration sleeve inside the pack. You can route the hydration hose out through the middle here and you even. Have a little catch here for the hose on. This side now the hydration system itself isn't included, but they do give. You this smaller pack this can be hung. Inside of the backpack as the sleeve for. Your hydration system but you can as well. Take it out and use it as a summit pack you've got really lightweight and stretchy straps here so those are comfortable the material here is nice. And lightweight so it doesn't add a lot of weight to the actual pack but you can use this as a day pack if you're just. Summoning a peak you can use this to. Take some stuff with you or if you're traveling and you're just going out for the day that you can throw some essentials in this pack there's daisy chain attachments on the front a small zippered pocket there on. That pack so it's a really nice feature. That again doesn't add a lot of weight to the pack that adds a lot of value the. Pockets and organization are streamlined. And simple but it gives you all the. Organization you need on the front of the hip belt you have nice big pockets i. Can see these accommodating any size smartphone you can see this mesh pocket. Here stretches out really big you could put a small camera in there or something like that so really good size pockets. There and then on the lid you have the access into the. Back I've got a first aid kit in their so items you want to get your hands on quickly or lightweight items can be. Stored up there on the side of the pack. You have two very stretchy meshes pockets big enough to accommodate any size water. Bottle I've got a 32 ounce water bottle. In there and it fits well you've even got a compression strap on the front so you can compress that down and if you're. Just going on an overnight or a short trip you've got compression straps all over this pack to make the load a little bit smaller you have a full-size lid here. And you can store lots of gear in there so then that gives you access into the. Body of the pack there's even a small hidden pocket back here and that's a. Great feature for travel you've got really easy access into the top of the pack with a nice big opening that's. Really easy to use and i found that this. Pull handle is really nice as well so there're little attentions to detail make. A big difference it's all the access you need into that big pocket then you do. Have access in a couple more areas so. Something i really appreciate about this pack you have a nice big u-shaped zipper. Here where you can access all the gear. That you need that's in the middle of your pack it's tucked away back here so. It doesn't add a lot of weight to the pack but as you can see i can open that. Up nice and wide almost like a piece of luggage and get to all the gear that's in the middle of the pack so i can grab for whatever i need if you're traveling. With this pack taking it overseas you can use it like that so really nice almost hidden pocket there. And then down on the bottom you have access into a sleeping bag compartment down there these zipper poles are so. Easy to use, and they make it nice and easy to get to the bottom now there is a. Divider in between the bottom and the. Middle of the pack but you can tuck that away if you need full access into the whole pack now also behind the scenes there is a. Hidden rain cover the rain cover is. Custom fit for the pack and it's in its own designated pocket right here so rain cover matches the pack and it. Adds a lot of value so you don't have to purchase a separate rain cover in the. Front a nice stretchy dump pocket too and then as you can see all over the. Front of this pack you've got two loops you've got straps here that you can. Attach a sleeping pad this is actually removable and you've got trekking pole bungees up here so there's plenty of. Features here you can use this pack in a lot of different ways but all of those. So how we do guys your old pal baba ganoush you once again how is everybody doing so I'm up here in new jersey right. Now I'm up here visiting my family for a few days moving some things out of my. Apartment up to here and so i figured I'd get out and go for a nice quick day. Hike so I'm actually up on the appalachian trail right now no up in the northern. New jersey section it is a nice crisp 22. Degrees out this morning so i know what. You're thinking bob what in the world you're doing only wearing a long-sleeved. T-shirt you're gonna catch cold well you know if you watch my videos you. Know me i like to keep things nice and light nice and simple i run really warm. As it is and I'd rather not sweat with. It being so cold out here i know am i just out for a day hike but even. Stopping and standing still for a few minutes if i start to sweat i can just. Feel the cold really kick in so I'm just. Keeping it nice and light give myself a little bit warmer this is the under armor cold gear so it does still keep me fairly warm but most importantly it's. Breathable keeps me dry i still have leggings on underneath my hiking pants gloves on hat on all that stuff all that. Good stuff I'm good to go but enough. Chitchat so i was looking at this view behind me I'm out here for another reason and that. Is to talk about my brand-new day pack that's right i got a brand-new day pack its something that is really awesome super comfortable so and i figured what. Better way to review it and bring it out on an actual day hike get the feel for it and talk about what i think about the. Backpack thus far so let me get some miles in let me continue on the way get warmed up a little bit here who's gonna be a beautiful day i got some beautiful views for you guys stay tuned we got some good stuff to talk about drill barnacle. How you do everybody so it's been a. Beautiful day hiking this far coming towards the end or i have to turn back around and head on back so i figured i. Would stop talk to you about the brand-new day pack that i just recently purchased so i present to you guys the. Mystery ranch screen 35 litres let's go. Ahead and do a quick turn around so i am. So excited to finally own a piece of mystery ranch gear they are a really popular backpacking company they make lots of really cool gear as well I'm an. Rei just started carrying them so of course i had to pick it up now of course i know should probably stay involved what are you doing spending there's money you're trying to get ready for through like well you know what my current day pack the rei traverse not that there was really anything wrong with it was a fairly comfortable backpack but i always had problems with the hip belt rubbing my hips raw no matter how many times I've used it no matter how many layers i put on it would always rub my hips raw i need to get. Something a little bit different so i wasn't killing myself you know heading on into my through bike so i want to pick this bad boy up let me start off by saying it is an immensely comfortable. Backpack i tried it on with like 15 pounds of weight and it felt like nothing so a couple things I'm going to. Cover with this backpack here today number one I'll cover some of the specs of the backpack some of the dimensions so on and so forth secondly from there we'll talk about some of the main features of the backpack itself and then I'll talk about the main features that i really like about the backpack why i wanted to get it and especially moving forward why i wanted to get a backpack like this so it is pretty chilly out. Here let me take this guy off let me put my puffy on, and then we'll go ahead and get on into the backpack itself so okay guys just some quick specs about the backpack itself again this is the mystery ranch skree backpack so to start off with this. Is a 35 litre backpack i know it's a. Little bit on the larger side of day packs but i wanted to go with the larger side day pack for a particular reason one i can carry some extra weight some. Other little odds and ends and as well moving for with this backpack i wanted to get a little bit more versatility out of it this is the medium/large version you do. Have some torso adjustment this is gonna be about 21 to 22 inches long on the. Frame just the initial frame itself not. When you extend the torso as long so you. Can get away with this as a carry-on size luggage if you really need to you're looking at about 9 to 10 inches. Deep really nothing too bad there and. You're looking at about 13 to 14 inches wide there so pretty nice dimensions. Again 35 later you can use this as a carry-on piece of luggage if you really had to the overall weight of the backpack if i remember correctly is right around two and a half pounds don't quote me on that i will leave that answer in the description down below so. Right around to two and a half pounds so not too bad it is a very supportive backpack and as well what i like about it is waterproof, but we'll go ahead and talk about that in a little bit and last but not least this does retail for. One 7995 down at your local rei so a. Little bit more on the expensive side but as i get into some of the details and some of the features about the backpack you'll understand why it's a little bit more expensive than some other options okay so let's go into some. Of the features that you're gonna get with the backpack let me start on this side first and foremost so down the down on the bottom you do have two hip belts. Pockets down here i know a backpackers favorite just having access to those snacks some ready available items kind. Of thing like that really nice what i really love about this backpack is they have really heavy cushions. Shoulder straps it's almost as if they took the shoulder straps off they're bigger backpacks and put it on this one itself so it makes it really supportive standard sternum strap tether. You have down here but what i really like that they did was that they have this kind of elastic piece here this. Kind of elastic clipping system so if you do have a water bladder you can lash down the hose or if you need to keep a knife whatever the case maybe it has. This a little elastic I've been utilizing it to hold my go pro. Right there really cool feature right off the bat for me especially and of. Course it comes with some of your standard adjustment load lifters up top fully of all really nice coming on to. The side here you do have your mesh water bottle pockets sitting there pretty nice size i think i can fit two of these smaller size water bottles in there you can easily fit a full liter nalgene without a problem now they are. Pretty they are pretty vertical so what. I found out is the best way to get your bottle in our number one getting them out is push up from the bottom and it quickly pops out there for you to get it. In i notice that if i grab the whole water bottle and then push it in it's a. Little bit easier to get my water bottle in and out that way while it's still on my body you do have these on both sides. Of the backpack coming on up to the top. Here you do have number one a quick easy access pocket there I'm just keeping some snacks in there right now and then right in front of it you do have a deeper access quick grab pocket I'm. Keeping just my car keys my wallet just. Some other odds and ends so on and so forth right now and of course along the top you do have. Some different loops some different looping systems to where if you need to lash down equipment now flipping it on. Over to the front here this is really where it makes its money so to start off. With blatantly out in the obvious is this kind of y shaped zipper this is a. Fully taped sipper so a waterproof zipper what's really cool is opening. This thing up the way it kind of splays out really nice wide lid right off the. Top and as you can see it kind of has this extra collar so as it's zipped over. With those two zippers coming together you know that there's not going to be any water kind of leaking in through. That small little gap so really nice on their part there before i zip down the. Front across the front you do have all these different daisy chains and different loops and everything that you have there another great way for lashing down equipment whether it be axes climbing equipment so on and so forth. Really nice and convenient they already provide you with that you do of course have not only dual-purpose lashing clips as well as compression. Clips across the front this helps keep everything together you can strap down extra equipment if you have to and then. Of course the big thing here again a tape zipper fully waterproof this is. Opens on up as you can see i have just some puffy jackets just a fleece hoodie. I my rain jacket sitting in there right now but it's cool how everything opens up in one shot inside is a fully coated inside so going. Along with the tape zipper you do have. That waterproof coating to make sure everything inside stays nice and dry now. Inside there i know it's behind a bunch of stuff right now but you do have a small hydration sleeve it's not overly. Large to be honest with you can. Probably fit like maybe a 1/2 liter 1. Liter one and a half liter bladder if you had to but it's intended to fit more. Of like a small actual tactical water bladder not one of those camel bags for. Casual purpose so really nice features. Really nice and versatile as well multi-purpose and love how it's waterproof all by itself making this a. Really durable backpack any long-lasting backpack up on top of that so that price. Tag starts to look a little bit better doesn't it so ok guys why did i get this. Backpack i know I'm getting ready for my. Thru-hike why would i spend the money on a brand-new day pack well for starters like i said before my other one was raw. I needed something a little bit more comfortable so that it wasn't tearing my. Hips apart and creating problems for my thru-hike that's number one number two. As well i wanted something that when i get off the trail was help was going to. Help me go into my next phase of my youtube channel now i know i do a lot of. The back packing a lot of camping and a lot of that other awesome stuff as well and i love doing it but i would like to. Get into more of the climbing aspect of things so especially a waterproof backpack tons of the lashing points something that's really supportive really ideal for that climber you know. Being able to carry your ropes your quick links some of your different harnesses everything lashed out on the outside something super convenient and. As well an extension to the backpacking. I wanted to get into some of the more bush craft side of things as well so. Again fully waterproof backpack number one that's awesome with what i want to do with all the different last points being able to carry an axe being. Able to carry heavier knives wool blankets on the outside and some basic equipment on the inside really good for that and of course being having. A super supportive suspension system and being able to carry some of. Those heavier bush craft items something really ideal for me so i know it's a little bit oversized for a day pack at 35 liters but it's something that i plan. On utilizing a lot moving forward and in. A lot of different ways and this gives me the versatility necessary to do that so for anyone looking for a new day pack something to take them traveling something to look for a waterproof option great for climbing great for. Mountaineering great for bush craft as well definitely take a look at the mystery ranch scree a really good. Backpack this is the first day I've had it out and so far i am so impressed with. This i can easily take this for a night or two if i really had to but i have it. Hey there folks luke here with the. Outdoor good review i hope you're all doing well today for this episode we have the fjällräven Nabisco 55 liter packs. 360 time you guys have seen this pack. Before and our stealth overnight adventure wear is a winter storm coming. In we were just going through the woods like crazy this pack is tough as nails. It's awesome go ahead get comfortable let's take a look at it now so here you. Go guys here is the Nabisco pack this is. The 55 liter version now this is the older version of this pack from what i. Understand the 55 liter male version has. Been discontinued it's no longer available I'm sure you could find it used on ebay and so on but there's a 65. Litre version and now the 55 liter. Version is for women so if you go out. You're looking for one of these packs you come across one right here on the. Back you should be able to see that it says Nabisco 55 right next to it will. Either be an m or a w and that will signify it if it's for the male or for. The woman so with that being said if you get the 55 litre version or the 60 liter either way you're getting an awesome pack we'll go ahead and start by taking a look at it right here at the very top you have a drag handle right below that you have a zippered pocket which gives you access to the lid very good quality zippers these are ykk zippers good quality pull. On them too good action you have some. Bungee cord right here on top so you could put i don't know your sweater whatever you want to your brain jacket out here maybe let something dry you have a draw cord with that so you can cinch it down real tight of course. There's the fox leather very good. Quality the lid is hunkered down to the pack thanks to these two straps. On the inside of the lid you have this large zippered mesh pocket which. Includes the rain cover included it even. Has the fox on it you have this buckle right here with plenty of strap it's so you can cinch down your load or expand it you have a. Drawstring pull right here at the middle. And then this does extend up with another drawstring pool so you can expand your load to fit your gear to fit. Your needs going down in the center you. Do have a pocket very good amount of space you can fill up this entire section right through here flipping the. Pack over to the side compression straps. With strap keepers very nice quality you. Do have water bottle pockets down here at the bottom which are stretchy too so. You can fit anything that you need to in there you have the same features on the other side of the pack so as you can see. Here the pack is now laying completely flat because this is a cool feature on each side you have a zipper and another. Zipper check this out you can zip all. The way down zip all the way down on this side and peel this open and that. Grants you access to all the contents of your bag i love this feature on backpacks fjällräven got it right i. Haven't seen a pack that uses velcro at the top but this really does work well you just simply line it up smash it. Together and you are good to go being. Able to access all of your gear like that is just fantastic it's very. Smart now my friends take a look here at. The bottom of this pack it is nice and flat and it's molded to be that way that. Was your pack will stand up most packs. Are not able to stand up but this one can it's absolutely awesome it's. Definitely different i haven't seen a pack like this before that has that formed bottom it's very cool it works well when it comes to the harness system it's what you expect just terrific quality. Hadded extremely comfortable you have load lifters sternum strap with. Emergency whistle you have a very large padded waist belt with one pocket on the right-hand side ah it's like i left something in it from. My last trip I'll eat that on the way home very good buckle all the typical. Adjustments that you would expect you. Can also pull the load of the pack closer to the hip belt very nice now. There are a couple things i would like to point out that really just show off the type of quality the type of thinking that went into this pack check out this d-ring right here metal very solid very. Sturdy let's fold this back here now check this out you have one of the compression strap buckles and you see this you can take this out and adjust it. You can move it up you can move it down any place that you need to that is. Incredibly smart that is a very good feature having fixed compression straps. Really limit the way that you can load your pack the way that you hunker it down so being able to move those up and. Down really opens up a lot of doors for. The way that you can hunker down your load and get it comfortable for your trip with the water bottle pockets right below you do have this drawstring on each one so you can slide your water bottle in and then pull it nice and. Tight on the inside you have a clip as. You can see for your hydration bladder so you can just lock it into place it. Prevents the whole thing from sagging another great feature below the hydration keeper you have a zipper which gives you access to the. Frame sheet and the aluminum stays i. Showed mentioned below that you have an additional zippered area and this is. Perfect for maps its perfect for keeping extra cash if you're traveling. Around that way if something happens you get robbed you have a spot with extra. Cash hidden away trust me you need to do. It if you're a backpacker if you're a traveler below that you have a hydration. Sleeve which can hold three liters of. Water easily other than that there are no more sleeves there are no more pockets you can shove your sleeping bag down in the very bottom there is no set writer so it's just one big pocket so my. Friends that is the Nabisco 55 packs this. Thing is very impressive i absolutely loved it I've used it numerous times you guys saw it in the overnight adventure that stealth camping one i can't really remember exactly what i called it but it was a ton of fun and. This pack really did perform well and it took a lot of abuse i was really just. Bushwhack and pushing through the brush i was way off trail just using some maps. And some navigation yeah and it just. It's held up so well over the years I'm just so impressed with this pack now this is the black color you could find these in numerous colors there's black there's green there's un blue and this. Runs 270 dollars from the fjällräven dot. Us website for that price i think it's. Fantastic you know it's like with their pants like i have on here they're really expensive you look to pay around $100 a pair and you would think that their backpacks would be much more expensive more on the same level as our tareq's, but they're not two hundred and seventy dollars and you're getting an. Amazing backpack that really does have some cool features 55 litres this comes. In at four pounds eight ounces so it's know it is not super lightweight by any. Means but thanks to this harness it is. Very comfortable that is true so for our look at the pl raven Nabisco 55. Thinking the right pack can seem like a very overwhelming experience for a lot. Of reasons there are so many packs in the market it's kind of hard to narrow down which one is right for you i like. To look at three things when I'm picking it back first what's my purpose i want. To make sure if I'm doing day hikes overnight trips I'm using it as a carry-on that it fits that specific reason then it needs to fit me and fit. My body to make sure that it's dispersing all the weight properly and finally i wanted to be as comfortable as it can be when i first moved to alaska. This was the pack that i picked up it was deuter future pro 34 litre sl which. Sl on the deuter brand is a pack line. That is designed specifically to fit a woman's body daughter is a german based. Brand they've been in the backpacking industry for 110 years they have several. Lines of packs and what they pride. Themselves on is their air ventilation system their packs are equipped with. This lightweight mesh system that. According to the company keeps you from. Sweating it keeps your a cut your sweat down by about 25% now as i mentioned. It's important for a pack to fit you properly and there are two main areas. Where that's true. It's important that your pack fit in. Your shoulders and in your waist because that's where you're going to be carrying the weight now this is the sl meaning. That it is designed specifically for women's body so that's a number of. Different features the waist belt is smaller than say a man's pack to. Accommodate that women are oftentimes smaller you also have slimmer shoulder straps. And they carry in a different way and then you have a smaller wound mostly. Have smaller torsos and so the s outfits. Petite torso one of the things that i. Found that i like pack opposed to a lot of packs is i find that it's really easy to tighten it and. It's also really easy to reduce in so. Say you're layering you put on a coat and you need to loosen it a little bit you just kind of flip these back or you. Take off that jacket and you need to tighten it a little bit more it's able to do that there are a number of. Different features in this pack pockets. Galore which is what we always like to see on packs you've got this top pocket. Which is perfect for gear that you're. Gonna want to access quite frequently then if you flip it open you actually. That they call the sleeping bag compartment now if you take that out you. Can see it's a separate compartment but you can also unzip it and it gives you access to the rest so you can use it away there's a number of attachments. That come with deuter packs you can get attachments to carry ice picks or. Trekking poles as well there's as well. These that you can attach carbines to. To carry other types beer with you. Whether it's your coffee mug or something on the top one thing that i. Tend to use this pack for is carry-on. And also it's a great overnight pack if you're staying in like a hut or a cabin. So I've assembled some gear to kind of give you an idea of how much this 34. Liter pack and pull so i do have its. Hydration bladder compatible so i. Already have my 3 liter hydration bladder in there the hose goes through. The top out the back and then you can. Clip it with this velcro and you can. Actually remove it and clip it to either side whatever is more comfortable for you do we have that in there already. You've got our sleeping bag in the bottom we're gonna throw in our thermos. Our jet boil. A pack of some extra layers you can see. It start to get a little bit tight. And finally every tooth throw in but a. Day and that's worth food so you can see. That is tight at 34 liters is all of. That but we do still have room in the bottom, so we have a number of options we could stuff more stuff under there, or we can unzip it, and we can make it one large compartment now we talked about. Our lid without easy access exterior. Pocket this i tend to put things like a. Gps in satellite communication device. And always twitter paper now of course. There would be other odds and ends that you would probably carry with you and there is still room in here you have. Some room in our side pockets as well definitely could put headlamps lighters. Things like that other snacks um but. It's starting to get a little bit full but you could definitely it's a great weekend bag now one of my favorite features of this pack is the rain cover. So say it starts to sprinkle a little bit outside you just unzip the bottom. Pull out the rain cover that's actually. Attached by a clip pull it. Over your pack it fits perfectly. And you are ready to go sprinkle stop. It's easy to take off one thing i really. Like is placement i like that it's at. The very bottom and i also really like. That it has a clip say you're doing a little bit of bushwhacking you're crawling with your branches or things on a rough trail it just touches and rips. Off which it had happened before it's. Still connected so it seems like you don't quite use it this often then you. Just back it back in the big shot. And you are good to go now as i. Mentioned i would say that this is the perfect pack for say a weekend trip if. You're staying in a cabin if you're staying in the hot it's perfect for day trips where you need a little bit of extra space it's not necessarily the. Perfect just day pack with friends. Because it is a little bit heavy at. Almost 4 pounds so you probably wouldn't want to carry that if you didn't need to however it was the very first pack that i owned and i used it exclusively for. About three years before picking up some. Other packs some smaller packs and some bigger packs and now i find that i use this exclusively for day trip activity. So berry picking or fishing are the. Primary uses that i use it for but i do. Enjoy the deuter brand i like the slim. Fit the sle for women i think it fits me. Very well and i have other women friends that it fits as well and i would. By keeping the pack away from your back and letting a big airflow channel in there the spring steel is not like. Aluminum you're going to be able to and its shape to do whatever and it's always going to spring back to its original position like i said the future pro. Packs are going to be taller bigger, and they're going to come with what we call our very flex hip belt the great flex. Hip belt does is that pivots so you can. Either tighten it down and lock it in or you can loosen it up and have that pit bull it's really important to have that feature in our pro level packs when. You're skiing when you're hiking doing anything technical maybe climbing where you want your the bottom part of your body to work independently of your body. And you don't want the whole weight of that pack swing so that very flex tip. Belt is a really nice feature more. Substantial in the hip belt as well it's a bigger pack you're going to be carrying more weight we want lumbar support and then because we have the. Real estate on the hip belt we're actually giving you two front pockets along the hip belt as well so like i. Said a little bit of a different design here you're gonna have a top loading pack instead of the features which are panel loading still hydration. Compatible with the nice extendable collar you do have the. Separate compartment whether it's. Sleeping bag whether it's wet clothes whether it's bike stuff dirty clothes. Whatever you want to do you have that. Divided compartment with access back here but you can also zip out the compartment and make it one long tube if. That's your hiking style or your packing style we do have trekking pole loops and of. Course the deuter you have your rain cover so you're going to have rain integrated rain cover in the bottom of the pack it is attached but it is also removable so perfectly sized for this pack so that. Start by saying that you can have the most expensive backpack in the world but if it doesn't fit right you're gonna be hating life just because the weights not gonna be distributed evenly it's gonna be uncomfortable and you're just not gonna want to wear the pack in the first place so what a bunch of female outdoor experts at dora did was they analyzed. Some differences between male and female anatomy, and they made packs that. Where specifically shaped for the female body normally for in terms of body shape. Men tend to have straight torsos whereas. Women tend to have a more hourglass. Shaped figure with wider hips and narrower shoulders and so this bag has. Been engineered to fit a woman's torso. Which tends to also be shorter hence the name as sells for a short. Length I'm just gonna go over some of the features of this bag and hopefully he'll give you an idea of whether you might want to get it for yourself or for your girlfriend or your wife so let's start first off just start with. The suspension here what you got here is a nice well padded waist belt i like the. Fact that it has a hip belt pocket the boy is pretty good about putting the hip belt pockets on their waist belts if you're gonna have a waist belt why not have a pocket it's great it's nice and sizable enough to stick change small items maybe a it's a little bit small. Too small for a phone but anything small that you want to get to without having to take off the pack so it's good give. You a look at the clasp at the front. Here. And you have nice padded shoulder straps. Not too thick but just enough to give it makes it comfortable and you have an adjustable sternum strap now for the sl. Version since it's a made for the female anatomy they put the shoulder straps. A little bit closer together then on the standard version just because women tend to have narrower shoulders and wider hips and the waist belt has been angled let's see if i can get the information card and give you a look at the picture. Here you'll notice here the white would. Be the standard version so the white outline so as you can see the waist belt for a standard version kind of goes out straight whereas here on the orange the. Waist belt for the sl version kind of tilts up and that's to make for the angular hip angle on a women's backpack. Also even though this is listed as being. Mostly for women hence this little flower here this comes off by the way this is also recommended also for men. Who have a short torso as well so don't think this is just for women if you're a guy and you have a short torso this will work out just fine just take out the flower I'll leave it doesn't matter. This also boosts the deuter air comfort. System i talked about it on my own back pack the deuter future 42 basically what. You have here is two aluminum stays i don't know if you can see it here these. Two stays that arch the back of the pack. Away from your body and then you have this mesh panel right here that your body rests against and this gives a nice little area right here for air to circulate so you're doing it you don't get sweaty back i was worried when i. First got my backpack that this mesh would rip or tear or break or whatever but actually after kicking around my bag for a good two years i haven't had any problems so i trust it now so it's pretty good and the aluminum. Stays they're flexible they're strong, but they're flexible, so they can bend so really durable system so don't worry that you're getting a bag that's gonna be comfortable but fall apart later this system has lasted me really. Well go into the side there are two. Compression straps you have a bottom compression strap and a top compression strap which you can also undo the top one with a clasp like so. The bottom one is fixed and then you. Have side mesh pocket on the other side as well it's elastic and it's pretty durable this mesh material you should. Look at the other side here like so going to the back of the panel back of. The bag there's a top loading design so. You undo these two clasp you take the top off basically what top loader design. Is its just a main sack with a lid on. Top before i go to the main compartment let me just talk about the lid you have. A back access pocket for the live light here on the back and then when you open. Up the lid on the underneath side you. Have another access pocket right here. Going to the front of the bag you have. An elastic mesh pocket which you can also tighten with the top compression strap right here so in terms of storage. Space i think you could stick a helmet. Here but it's gonna be kind of tight fit would have like this to be a little bit stretch here and a little bit more expansive for this mesh pocket just so i could stick in a lot of your helmet but for a bike helmet or anything around that size no problem whatsoever you can also stick like so you take off your mid layer your fleece you could just jam it in here without having to undo and get to the main part of the compartment of the pack going into the interior pocket oh by the. Way i love the fact that it's using these bright colors it makes it easier for you to find your gear if you have a. Black kind of interior it makes it harder to find here but with this bright color any times you put inside are gonna stand out and i love that going into the interior of the bag you'll notice you. Have a velcro loop attachment for attaching stuff and you have this inner. Back pocket for sticking a hydration bladder this bag is hydration compatible and if you look here on the sides you have a hole on one side here for the loop to go out and on the other side so you can have the hydration bladder going either from your left and right side without the loop hitting the back of your head i really like that it's a nice touch and just. Give you a look here that's basically it for the main compartment let me just. Close this guy up that's about it pretty. Simple design a fair number of pockets. For powder storage and interior storage. Some gear separation in the lid and a very ergonomic design for a different. Frame sizes if you're of a shorter frame. Hey guys tamir this is my daughter for. Tara pro 38 liter packs I've had this. Think for about a year now and i really liked it i figured it's about time i did a review on it i remember. When i bought it the only review i could find was in german but it got me a good. Look at what the pack had to offer so i. Figured I'd put a decent English one. Up there in case anyone else is looking at any of the smaller dotter packs. I don't think rei actually carries the. 38 anymore i got it online when i lived. In indiana so i couldn't go to the store well last time i went i believe i saw. 3432 it was red so I'm not sure if this. One's even still around but i like it a. Lot so I'm just going to show you guys really quickly a couple features on it is a top loading pack so i opened up. Here and expanse quite a bit very good. Amount for a pack this size gives you a. Lot more room to put stuff the top. Compartment does not come off but it. Does fit nicely over even if it's completely full it has a pocket on the. Inside works really well and as well as. On the back it's got a nice pocket here. Too. Having trouble with the zippers no yes the same time on the side here each side. Does have a side pocket that is fairly. Sizable i can fit a pair of flip-flops or something in their pretty easily i put a lot of miscellaneous things on the side pocket and like i said each side. Does have a side pocket. Once again these zippers work perfectly fine I'm just being a noob with my. Camera in my hands instead of on a tripod it's got a lot of different areas. Where you can attach carbines i got a. Whistle there i tied my bandana up here. Great for a sweat rag sweaty guy like me. And a bunch of loops just to put. Then anywhere gives you space to hold. Extra things which i like a lot like. They have a lot of stuff on the outside of my pack down here you can access the. Included rain cover with this nice blue. Bad boy that fits very well onto the pack I've only had to use it once sort of work just fine when i used it. Though it was a light rain so i can't attest to that too much. The last pocket of note is here it's a. Math pocket and it's really a map pack and it can't hold too much because it goes back fairly far there but i. Usually just keep my maps in there as. Well as a compass down on the bottom you. Do have our sleeping bag compartment. And that opens up and right now i have it going completely through the entire. Pack so the solution back apartment does. This is what it looks like zip. Even when exhibits very sizable in this. I can fit my mic open sleeping bag ather. Mraz pro light sleeping mat my cocoon pillow as well as a pretty big hammock i. Got from dick's it's not not anything too fancy pretty heavy but i can fit all. Four of those in there which is very nice. Do a couple loops down here as well good. For holding ice picks trekking poles anything like that we have our side compression straps as. Well as the elastic water bottle holders. On the side water can go in through. There. Though there is not one on the other. Side i think there would be that's one. Think that's a little bit annoying about it but that's not a huge deal the thing. That really attracted me to this pack was the air comfort very flexes that deuter has put here the hip belt it's. Slightly mobile it boasts that it moves. From side to side but it really doesn't do a lot but it's enough to. Kind of go with you on the trail a. Little bit but nothing really to brag about it is very comfortable there are. No side pockets on this which is one. Think that i wish they did have and they. Don't have any really good way to secure. Your straps my wife has a Gregory. Jade and her straps can tuck right and. She's got the nice side pockets such as me music but the system on the back. Really does allow for air to get in here. Very well very comfortable light. Back i can wear it and like i said. Earlier I'm a sweaty dude hits a that's a bandana but my back does not sweat. Because i get so much air coming in through the back here overall it's a. Very good pack i like it a lot for. Night weekend short weekend hikes things. Like that i can fit a lot in this bad boy this seams are strong no complaints. About it so far.
