Hiya another helmet I bought to try. I really like this helmet. It’s got a lot of positives, but it wasn’t for me and I’ll. Tell you why? Okay, it’s from the american brand gyro, I’m not sure whether you’re supposed to pronounce it gyro or jiro, as in giro d’italia cycle race, and it’s called the agilis. This is the agilis mips, the mips obviously well, not obviously, but referring, if you don’t know to the multi-directional impact protection system, which is like a plastic cradle which sits inside the helmet and it gives it gives a bit of movement basically on the head, so that on impact, rather than your whole head getting twisted the helmet’s supposed to twist a bit around your head.

Basically, because uh the rotational forces have been found to be quite bad for for brain injuries. Now I like this helmet because it’s comfortable it’s easily adjustable at the back, and it’s the band around that all that goes all the way around your head is really snug. I quite like the looks of it. It’s quite a straightforward. Looking one, it’s not it’s quite modern, quite smooth, it’s not dead space-age. I like the fact that the back it’s just quite simple and rounded at the back, the straps are dead comfortable.

They come comfortably around your ears if you’ve got big low ears with big ear lobes. Like me, some straps are really tight. That was one of the problems I had with the uh mojito from cask. It was too tight round my ears. This is like down nice and low dead comfortable, and I also like the finish. It’s got a nice, although I like the fact that it’s white, it’s it’s uh, quite understated, because it’s got this nice matte finish and it’s the same on the other colors you can get.

You can get a matte black and you can also get a matte fluorescent, yellow, which is great. If safety is primary concern and talking to safety, I mean this is very safe. Obviously it’s got the mips system, not only that it’s well I’ll show you the side profile. First, it’s got the mips system and also there’s a lot of helmet. Basically, it comes down lower than all the helmets. It comes down close city ears and it comes down further at the back. So there’s a lot of protection at the back of the head.

That could be really good if you’re planning for doing uh different types of riding, maybe you’re, not just a road rider, maybe you’re, doing off-road as well, maybe doing mountain biking making maybe doing gravel. I like it because the polycarbonate shell comes in all the way around. It hasn’t got the exposed polystyrene, so that makes it stronger, makes it safer and also makes it longer wearing, because it’s not going to get dinged and damaged around there. I’ll compare the profile to one of my cask helmets and you can see so here’s my damaged cast allegro.

You can see how high, maybe that relatively high at the back and the size that is oops compared to that I mean it also projects more always all the way around yeah. So what’s the problem? Well, one of the main things for me is all that armor plating comes at a price, not so much um financial price. As you can get this, as you can get some good deals on this um, I it’s best. I’ve seen you can get it under under 70 pounds under 70 euros from mantel on the european main line at mainland.

I don’t know how easy that’s going to be or to order in the uk after january, the first but anyway we’ll see, but problem is weight or one problem see that’s weighing in this is a size, larger room, but that’s weighing in at 343 grams. Now the vellegro, which I showed you before 343 grams, allegro 267 grams, 80 grams. Lighter I mean it’s not the biggest deal in the world, but as a percentage, that’s a big amount. I haven’t worked it out, 350, that’s nearly that’s nearly 25 lighter, isn’t it so it’s a fair difference.

Isn’t it oops? It’s gonna fall off, so it’s heavy and it kind of feels heavy. Another problem is this: bulk is great and you feel nice and safe, but because of the the the size of it, because our beginners at the back, if you’re riding like in an aggressive position down on the bars, this is quite low on your eyes and what I was finding was that when you really down low it kind of slides starts to slide down which then it doesn’t feel so safe yeah, it’s great having your head protected, but when you can’t see where you’re going that ain’t so good, however, maybe you’re not doing that kind of riding, maybe you’re commuting, in which case you want a reasonably priced, very safe helmet.

That would be great or uh like, say, maybe you’re doing some kind of off-road type stuff, or maybe it would be a great helmet for touring. Something like that you might want. If you’re safety minded you might want the fluorescent yellow one. If you are just want to keep a low profile, maybe you can go for the matte black or if you want something in between go for the white, so there you go. That’s my suggestion. If you’re, looking for a very reliable, robust, long-lasting, safe helmet, protective helmet, reasonable price you’re, not bothered about about the weight or riding in an aggressive position, this could be the helmet for you.

One last thing to bear in mind: well, two last things to bear in mind. Unlike a helmet like this minor points, this has printed logos on. I did notice. I thought these were printed, but then there’s a tiny wrinkle in the gyro that side, so those stickers are going to come off over time. If that’s something that bothers you, I mean, obviously it’s pretty minor one. Other thing is that I found this a little bit of a big fit on my head. Now that is down to a point I’ve made before, which is about sizing diff, being different on different helmets like on all clothing.

Obviously, but but where is the cask comes in size 58 to 62, and my head is about 61, so I’m at the top of the range without it being too snug ideal. This helmet comes in a 59 to 63, so with my head being around 61. This is starting to get a little bit big for me. So that’s just another thing you might want to bear in mind, but I’d say I like the helmet, but not for me I’ll, be coming back with another helmet review soon.

Uh, so I’ve had a busy day, so I’m not gonna have a long vlog today, because I’m being productive, I’m getting a lot done uh, but I did get my bike helmet. I also had to go into town for a blood test and um. I stopped by home depot and I did for everyone. That said I could return the uh the the light, the post light things that didn’t the ones right size they did accept it um. I also got a couple new plants, so I need to repot these, so this is going to go in a pot that I have outside this little guy.

I need to repot in here and I got that little pot. So one is this: what are you it’s just foliage. Do you not have a name? I guess it doesn’t have a name anyways. Does it really not have a name um, yeah, so um? I need to get a lot work of work done. I’ll. Show you my helmet. Oh, I also got a staple gun, but I’m going to return it because it was delayed and I ended up borrowing, one anyways. So all right- let’s get this, let’s get this propped up. Okay, so this is the helmet I got and I bought it.

Oh geez, I’m wearing jeans, so it’s not the best on the knees but and then he at the back of the knee is healing up nicely. I think just that very back part is going to take a while for the scab to go away, but the rest is looking pretty good. Now I feel like this is right. Boo. You want to be in the video um so anyways. I got this helmet from a place called suninski and it was on sale, but it was on sale, so it was originally an 85 helmet. This is the brand that I had before and you have to replace helmets every.

I don’t know four or five years, even if you haven’t been in an accident, and so my last one I think when I left san francisco- maybe I just tossed it because I knew it was older, I’m not sure but anyways. I had a white one which I liked, because it’s a little bit easier to see. This is the has the technology of the the mips or the this little thing. I can’t remember what it stands for, but it is um safer. So and I got the medium, but I have a big head, so I always get very nervous, but I measured my head and according to them I was a medium which I’m surprised because usually I can’t fit in anything um a step forward in helmet design, mips, okay, so I my other helmet did not have this technology because it was.

I think this is somewhat recent technology, but fingers crossed oh yeah. Okay, it fits oh thank goodness. It was kind of on the high side of um. Oh perfect. I know dog. What am I doing so I know I thank you. That’s that’s very nice to you. That’s very nice um, so I’m gonna have to adjust, but it fits, which is great. The only downside is is when I put my hair up in a ponytail when I ride it’s always a little hard, because this part back here so I’ll just have to play with that. But it’s a perfect fit.

So that’s good and it’s got lots of ventilation and it’s just your standard road bike helmet. It’s very lightweight and yeah, I’m happy. So next time I go riding I will have my helmet um, which I probably will go for a ride. I don’t know probably this weekend, but I also oh, I did get at home depot some of the cleaner for the deck. I guess I can show you that too. Oh my gosh, I will save the box I’ll read my! I won’t really read it. It’s just yeah! Okay, so I also got oh geez, no we’re not going anywhere dog this, which is what I’m going to use um.

I used something. I think I used a different brand, but it was basically the same thing as last year, but this is what I used to clean the deck before staining so um. I have my sprayer, so it’s already pretty bad just from the one winter. So I think I’m gonna have to do this every year, but I was gonna, get the stain. What are my neighbors doing? What’s going on over there? I’m so nosy there’s some guys, hauling off um some pavers or something I’m gonna, stop being nosy anyways. So the first step.

Oh sorry, dog. The first step is to clean this. So I think I’m going to clean this. We did have rain all this morning, so it does need to be like it needs to be dry, a dry deck, and then you clean this and then it has to be dry for x amount of hours after I will look up again, but it worked out really well last year. So I’m gonna do that in the next couple, like probably in a couple days and then hopefully let this dry, let it all dry pick a day and then finally get it stained. So that’s it um, that’s it.

So the dog is not happy because she broke her long, leash, again um, and so I won’t let her out the front so she’s restricted to chasing lizards on in her dog run area. But in her opinion that is not as exciting of an area, so she’s very upset with me. Robo are you you broke it, though so and I ordered another one of the same material as the one I had before this one, which is not the rope-like material that keeps injuring me um by giving me rope burns. So it’s more of the like nylon material, that’s softer that I’ve never had an issue with.
