Rely on the Deuter Women’s Rise 32 + 8L SL Backpack during freeing backcountry adventures. This pack keeps your touring gear organized with a front pocket for quick and uncluttered access to your avalanche safety gear. On your way to the summit, durable front straps securely hold your board or skis. Access your extra layers and snacks through the back panel, so digging for a bite to eat or an extra sweater doesn’t turn into unpacking your entire bag. Throughout your tour, the Rise’s Delrin U-frame prevents pain from a heavy pack from overwhelming your adventure. A channel between the back panel offers chimney-like ventilation so you don’t overheat during sunny spring tours.
Take the panic out of waking up before the crack of dawn by packing the Mammut Women’s Nirvana Ride S Backpack the night before you go skiing. This backcountry-specific pack carries skis or a snowboard, and it hauls a helmet, goggles, hydration reservoir, and your essential avalanche safety gear. The Nirvana carries skis diagonally or at an A-frame, snowboards vertically or horizontally, and the helmet carry stows away during the descent. For support, Mammut equipped the Nirvana Ride with a light, stable aluminum frame wrapped in EVA padding for a comfort carry. The waist belt and shoulder straps also feature EVA, and you can remove the waist belt if your dawn patrol will be a quick cruiser.
Head into the backcountry for some epic powder-hunting with the Dakine Women’s Mission Pro 25L Backpack and keep everything you need for a successful day within reach. A separate compartment for your avalanche safety gear allows you to easily access your shovel and probe in an emergency situation, and generous main compartment offers up plenty of room for extra layers, skins, snacks, and a first aid kit. The pack is hydration-compatible, too, and features an insulated hose sleeve so your water source doesn’t freeze.
Since the most epic lines sometimes require the longest, steepest bootpacks, the Mission sports both a horizontal and vertical snowboard carry option, as well as a diagonal ski carry, so you can secure your preferred set of sticks as you work your way up steep chutes and ridges. And, even when the pack is loaded with your skis or board, a padded waistbelt, shoulder straps, and back panel evenly distribute the weight so you can move comfortably through the mountains.

Arguably, there’s nothing more rejuvenating than spending a day out on the skin track or boot-packing within the lift-accessed areas of the ski resort. And since more than half the battle is terrain, know that you can trust the Osprey Kresta 20 Backpack to carry your avalanche gear and necessities—without getting the way of having fun.
Specifically, the Kresta 20 is fashioned with a women-specific, Light Wire suspension system that when combined with the padded help belt and stabilization straps, provide a comfortable and pressure-free haul. Additionally, the thermoformed, contoured back panel sheds snow easily, and ultimately reduces the build-up of frozen precipitation. A dual-position, deployable helmet net makes carrying your melon-protector easy (when it’s not in use).
Not to mention, the Kresta boasts a horizontal snowboarding carrying feature, or if you’re of the dual-planked nature, it also touts an A-frame or diagonal ski carrying design. More importantly, the Kresta has a J-shaped avalanche gear compartment, complete with dry pocket, so you’re able to access your safety gear in a flash and separate other sensitive items from wet skins or damp clothing. And, last but not least, a back panel entry system enables you to access snacks or extra layers quickly, and all of the Kresta’s zipper pulls, as well as buckles, are glove and mitten friendly.
Ideal for through-the-gates missions at the resort and light-and-fast backcountry tours, the Ortovox Women’s Cross Rider 18 Backpack is specifically tailored to the shape and needs of female skiers and snowboarders. Slightly smaller and lighter than the men’s Cross Rider, and with straps contoured to fit ladies comfortably, this low-profile pack carries all the safety tools, water, snacks, and other accessories you need for trips into the backcountry, all without weighing you down or making you feel like a pack mule.
Because “safety first” is a very real attitude in the backcountry, Ortovox included a separate compartment for avalanche rescue gear so you can quickly access it in the event of an emergency. A stowable net holds your helmet while you skin or hike so your head doesn’t get drenched with sweat on the way up. Ski and snowboard carry straps hold your shred sticks during steep stretches of hiking, while trekking pole loops hold your poles on the way down. Front and back panel access lets you quickly reach water, snacks, and extra layers, and there’s also room for a hydration reservoir (not included) when you want to make things extra convenient.

Osprey’s Kresta 40 Backpack is choice whether you’re ski touring to a hut for a minimalist overnighter or tackling a technical ascent filled with ice climbs and rappels. Osprey built this pack with a LightWire suspension system that assures a comfortable carry when you’re carrying loads as heavy as forty pounds. Two main compartments— one dry storage for sleeping bags and clothes and an other for avalanche gear—keep all of your backcountry essentials organized and easily accessible when you’re on the skintrack.
The main compartment is accessed through the back panel for easy access, even with your skis, snowboard, or ice axes strapped through the front. The avalanche gear compartment is accessed through the front panel for quick access during emergencies. Osprey also equipped the Kresta with an insulated hydration reservoir and tube that prevent your water from freezing. The Kresta carries snowboards vertically or horizontally, skis diagonally or at an A-frame, and a helmet at the front. The helmet carry system stows away when you’re wearing your helmet. This pack also features a strap that secures climbing ropes, and a fleece-lined pocket that prevents goggles from getting scratched.
There are a lot of ways things can go wrong in the backcountry, so cover as many safety bases as possible with the Women’s Free Rider 22 Short Backpack by Ortovox. In addition to having an easily accessible compartment for your avalanche rescue gear and deployable hemet net for your brain bucket, this innovative pack sports a built-in back protector to shield your spine from harsh impacts. This particular version of the Free Rider 22 is a bit shorter in design, providing an ideal fit for females and smaller males desiring less bulk and greater mobility.
The SPS Flex Back Protector offers extra insurance against bad falls, and it’s totally flexible when you’re skiing and riding at high speeds, as to not impede critical movements. Best of all, it’s good for multiple or successive impacts, meaning you won’t have to replace this pack after taking a nasty fall on the mountain. Plus, it’s TÜV certified for extra peace of mind, so you know it’ll perform when you need it most.
Besides the front-access pocket for quickly grabbing your shovel and probe, there’s a zippered top compartment for stashing a compact puffy jacket or spare gloves. You’ll find an A-frame ski carry, as well as diagonal ski/snowboard carry configurations for approaching steep lines where you need to boot up. This is a quick review of auto boxes free-rider 26 back country backpack which. I’m having to return to the supplier after only two days use due to been dissatisfied with the quality and having safety concerns the first problem comes. With how you secure the snowboard. Vertically using these upper and lower. Fastening straps its difficult to cinch. Tight these straps once they are. Fastened you have rather you have to put. The snowboard on attach the straps then. If there’s any slack undo the straps take your best guess on how tight they should be reattached them hopefully by the third time the board will be secure. Enough but that’s kind of redundant. Because after only 20 minutes whether you’re just walking or hiking the board. Those straps start to come loose and the. Board starts swaying left and right the. Second problem i found was with the helmet net once the board is secured. Vertically you can then you then have the option of securing the helmet net above that the problem lies in two areas. The first is with these brittle plastic. Clips on each corner of the net that. Used to go into the upper and lower. Loops with the snowboard in place these loops sits inset beneath the snowboard. So these clips have to stretch around. And attach into those loops which puts a. Lot of pressure on this inferior plastic. And then the second problem is with the. Lower loop material themselves they. Don’t seem to have taken into account that snowboards have edges sharp edges at that and already after only a few. Hours hiking this material has already started to fray and will eventually fail. I imagine on the second day of my hike i. Was about thirty minutes from the peak. Suddenly i hear my snowboard helmet falling down into a bowl beneath me. Because one of these clips broke i then. Had to get on my snowboard to take a line i didn’t particularly want to take to retrieve the helmet which was. Something i would consider unsafe the. Third problem was with the stitching. Already on day to the left the right. Hand strap lower strap used to secure. The snowboard the stitching has already. Started to come away it hasn’t happened on the opposite side yet but I’m sure it’s just a matter of time other than that the navigate compartment is nice and roomy roomier than other packs I’ve. Reviewed the spine protector. Although adequate could really be extended beneath and above to it to. Protect other parts of the spine the. Waist chest and arm straps are all very. Good but i wouldn’t really recommend buying this pack as it just doesn’t seem to have been field-tested or despite the. High price bracket and the various. Endorsements and reviews thanks.
The free rider 26 abs mass pack the only. Bag on them are removable abs system so put the pack and. You’ve got your storage for you shovel probe open up into there it is the same. System same kind of step just attach red. Strip. Kind of top. There it is and then you’ve also got man. To carry sack just to keep this safe when you’re using the backpack of the conventional backpack pack itself is. Around sooner half kilos. Spock spock another benefit the free rider pack comes with its own detachable spine guard that you can use on its own. Without that same system. So essentially you get in a 75-pound spying yard that you can use on its own.
Okay so we’ve got the cross rider 20 backpacks here from otter box and it’s. Kind of your daily ski touring bag it’s. Really lightweight only weighs around 860 grams so that’s a real plus. Side to this backpack you wouldn’t want to take if you’re going to further afield though and it’s got some great features you’ve also got your whistles it’s got a nice comfort on the back. Installs right there on this particular. Bag the free ride pack it also has this. Spine protector in there so this as well. Can be removed if you wanted to just take it for a day we just need to unclip it from the back and with the straps. That come with the bag you can wear it under your clothing without the pack and. Just have that extra spine protection. Okay we’ve got the pack on their’s some really neat features in this cat could make it super comfortable and handy for phreatic so don’t forget about the spine protection that’s back there a little bit of peace of mind when you’re free riding it’s got this really nice wide. It’s not bouncing up and down if you’re hit pillow lines or other cliffs that kind of thing and of course the leg loop that goes along with that it’s as well. Going to need feature here with this the way the strapping system for the shoulders is developed contingent in it. Comes from the two points here and again.
