It can be raining pitchforks and tater tots, and it will keep you dry.

What’s up, everybody welcome to field series review today, we’re gonna look at the water Fowler’s, true all-weather, shell, the Delta Waiting jacket, alright, guys this is the Delta waiting jacket. The Delta waiting jacket is Sitka’s all-weather, waterproof shell, designed for the water Fowler. The shack is 100% wind proof on a percent waterproof.

It comes with a built-in hood. It’s also to keep your head dry comes in with later pockets and it comes in with shell pockets. You’re gonna have interior pockets to store items like your phone and it’s gonna come with one of my favorite features that a shell can have, and that is armpit zippers. It’s gonna release all that heat after you’ve been putting out your decoys after you’ve been brushing your blind anything in between you’re gonna.

Be able to release that heat. What’s great about this jacket is that it’s so versatile you can wear early-season teal on bow tries to keep you dry. You can wear it on into January to keep you dry and layer thick thick layers, underneath this jacket and just all everything’s gonna stay locked in nice and tight and keep you dry alright guys. It’s time to talk about what I like and what I would change.

What I like about this jacket 100% would approve 100%, wind proof, extremely versatile. You can put whatever you want to underneath it and it’s gonna. Keep you dry you in a word early season. You can wear nothing but a t-shirt under it when we’re at late season. You can put something like a duck, oven or Fahrenheit jacket, underneath it I love that it’s got the waiter pockets that you can keep your hands up here.

I love it. It’s got the shell pockets, I love that it’s got the armpit, Vince I, think those are awesome. You all work up a sweat when we’re putting on our decoy, spreads or brush them blinds move things around and that’s a great way to let some of that heat out one of the things that I really love about this jacket. One of the reason is that I lean towards this over a Hudson is that I hunt in waders a fair amount I like to have my waders and my insulation on and I like to put the Delta wedding jacket over my waders.

The reason I like to do that, because it doesn’t matter if the bottom of this jacket gets wet from waiting, I like to go to access to shell pockets. If I have the jacket down in the waiters, I can’t access the shell pocket. The reason that I like this over the Hudson the Hudson is insulated. The boreal is insulated. You’re gonna get those things wet if you step into a deep hole or the water is a little deeper than what you think or it comes up to your chest with a delta wedding jacket, it does not matter.

You have your shells right there to grab, because you can have this jacket on the outside. Okay, so anything that I would like to change about this jacket. The one main complaint that I have with all shells from the Sitka line, doesn’t have a dual zipper to zip in other items. I would love to be able to zip in a gradient a Fahrenheit. My duck, oven, I love to zip in all those things to make one big jacket, but other than that.

This is a great go-to. I. Keep this in my boat. Keep this in my truck I: wear it fishing I, wear it in the rain. You know, I’m a big advocate of use. What you have I’ve used this jacket, deer hunting in the rain several time obvious I’m, not bowhunting, it’s not a quiet jacket by any means, but if I need something to keep me dry, walking to and from the stand or if I’m rifle hunting and I just want to stay dry, I will use this jacket in most any situation.

To keep me dry. Alright, everybody it’s time to look at sizing and systems for the Delta waiting jacket. So, first off one of my favorite items to wear underneath the Delta waiting jacket is a Sitka logo hoody. Now this isn’t technically in their hunting line, but don’t sleep on this thing. It’s really warm! So if we get down into the low 40s high 30s mid 30s, one of my favorite things to put underneath the Delta wading jacket, especially for the boat rides when I need to stay.

Warm is two items that are fairly in Sitka’s range, fairly: inexpensive to sit the logo hoody. The sister gradient jacket here. I have plenty of insulation for down to the 30s I’ll wear an extra large I’m, 6 foot, 1 205 210 pounds, my logo, hoodies, an extra large I’m gradients and extra large I have plenty of mobility on Delta waiting jacket is an extra large I, don’t size up or size down, and here you know the Delta waiting jacket with no issues size large I mean extra-large.

It’s actually a little long on me in the arms. That’s what these cuffs are great for waterproof cuffs, that you can tighten down so now, if I stick my hand down into the water to grab decoys grabbing these shells, anything that gets into the water without getting my insulation wet, so Delta wading jacket, I have my hands right here in the waiter pockets.

There’s a little bit and a little bit of felt in here without a little bit of warmth, for whenever he gets cold out, got my armpit zippers to release any heat kind of waterproof hood. If you want to stay dry and you want a reverse little waterfall jacket, this is the way to go all right guys. It’s time for should I buy. Now this is a tricky one.

I would say. Normally, yes, a hundred percent buy this jacket, but it depends on what type of waterfowl application you’re gonna use if you’re one of the guys that only sets foot in the duck blind late, November, December January, where the temperatures are already down into the 30s low, 40s 30s. This is a this is a great piece buy, but if you’re looking for just one jacket at that point, I would possibly lean towards the Hudson, because you’re going to get insulation on top of being 100% waterproof.

Are you looking at traveling? Are you looking at a lot of different situations? You’re, looking at early season, teal early season, goose, you’re, looking at taking some trips, maybe you’re going farther north, maybe you’re going farther south, and you want a shell to keep you dry in all those situations, no matter what you put underneath it. This is good for you.

Also. This is the one you need to go with. Like I said before. If it’s warm, you can put a t-shirt underneath it if it’s below freezing you’re gonna put a duck oven underneath it, and this is gonna, do its job, so should you buy in between if you’re waterfowl is between this and the Hudson? You take your pick on how much insulation you want your jacket to come with.

If you want all the options you decide, everything then go with a delta, wetting jacket. Had a couple of suggestions come through on Facebook I’m going to get to those pretty soon. Don’t forget to tell me what you were hunting with message me comments down below say this is what my temperatures were.

This is what my conditions were, and this is the system that I wore that could always help somebody out thanks.

What’s up guys, what kind of feel serious review today we’re going head-to-head with a delta waiting jacket versus the Hudson jacket? This is the Battle of the waterfowl shells. Arie everybody sounds talk about why I’m, comparing these two jackets I’m, basically comparing them, because one is an insulated version of the other other than that they’re, virtually identical -. The insulation is a couple of sizing differences which I’ll talk about here in a second, but the Hudson isn’t is a permanent off insulated version of the Delta jacket.

Now, why is that come into play? Why are people think well one’s got insulation than one. Doesn’t you know it’s getting colder during duck season? [ __ ], not just with insulated jacket. True, but depending on where you duck hunt. How often you duck hunting when you start to duck hunt is gonna decide which one of these jackets that you need, if you hunt in the southern states, where it doesn’t drop into the 30s until routinely until December in January or if you hunt early season till early season, goose or you’re.

Just looking for one duck, hunting jacket that you can wear in all applications to keep the elements out, no matter what the temperature is, you can layer underneath the Delta jacket is what that’s built form if you’re a waterfowl er that wants just one jacket for the late season, or maybe you only start in late, November, December January or you hunt in some of the northern states, where it gets down to the 20s regularly you’re regularly hunting in the low 30s, the 20s into the teens.

You don’t have to worry about buying a waterproof shell, then having to go, buy insulation and mix them together. You know you need an insulated jacket. The Hudson would be a jacket that you would want to consider. Both jackets have the pocketing systems for you to wear within waders up here and both have shell pockets very similar they’re, both waterproof windproof and they’re. Both designed to keep you completely dry, no matter what time of year, what setting? What application that that’s, where they normally people start to run in -, which one do I need because they are so similar as far as the way they look the way they function on the outside.

It’s on the inside. That makes them so different. All right guys! Now it’s time to look at the inside of these two jackets. This is where they start to veer part a little bit, not even a little bit a lot bit. You can see the permanent off insulation here on the Hudson, all down the arms, the chest or the front, the back. You have insulation across the shoulders on the chest. You can even see the micro fleece on the hood.

You can look here on the Delta very bare. You have a little bit of of insulation right here around the neck, but that’s just a comfort thing other than that. It’s completely uninsulated. It’s a bare-bones shell on the inside. Both jackets have the waterproof internal pocket, and you can see here on the Delta wedding jacket. You do have armpit vents, which I really like you, don’t have that here on the Hudson Jacket one of the things that it’s the inside that makes these two jackets so different, and this the inside when people ask me which one I should go with it’s the inside of the jacket.

That makes me give them my answer and then ask them what applications they use and if they say I hunt a lot of Dry fields or I hung out of a boat a lot. Don’t wear a lot of waders I’m, usually in a pit blind or I’m in layout, blind and late-season go with the Hudson. It’s going to keep you dry. It’s going to keep you warm it’s going to keep this insulation tight to your body if you’re a guy that hunts in waders a lot.

Hence the name. The wading jacket I like to put all my insulation on when I’m hunting in waders and then put my waders on over my insulation. It pushes all the insulation to my kidneys to my vitals keeps me warm. Then I can put this shell over top I. Don’t have to worry about it, draping outside of my waders and getting wet where’s with the Hudson. If you do that, and you step into a hole or you get water higher up, you’re getting your insulation wet and it’s not doing its job insulation gets wet on the outside of waders.

It’s not doing its job to keep you warm. So why is it so important to me to keep this jacket on the outside of your waders? To me, it’s the shell pockets. I love the shell pockets. They have magnetic strips on both jackets for the outer shell pockets, I like to be able to put my hands in there and get shells out when I’m shooting. If the jackets on the inside of my waders I can’t do that. It’s just another reason why I like to keep the jacket on the outside of waders, where I would go with a delta wading jacket if I’m wearing bibs or other insulation in a dryer setting, I’m gonna go with the Hudson, but between the two jackets the inside tells the whole story: okay, guys.

Let’s talk about sizing real quick we’ve already discussed both of these jackets from the outside and from the inside. Now, let’s talk about how they fit different. Okay, the Hudson is gonna, be a little bit more snug on you straight out of the box because it has the built in insulation. The Delta is gonna, be a little more baggy if I put it on right now, with a t-shirt, it’s gonna be pretty baggy because it’s designed to be layered underneath the Hudson is gonna fit a little more snug, because that layering of insulation is already built into it.

The Delta wedding jacket is about an inch and a half to two inches shorter around the waist are coming up a little bit shorter. It’s meant to be worn on top of waders in deeper water so that it can be so versatile to pull it on and off. It is a wading jacket. So yes, it’s a little bit shorter. So don’t be surprised when you put it on and you think oh. This is a little bit short here. That’s by design another thing, the Delta wedding jacket the arm length it’s about an two to two and a half inches longer by design than the Hudson.

That’s how they give you room to layer underneath this jacket is designed to be layered with heavy layers, underneath this is designed to keep your warmth in and the elements out, so the arms are longer, so you can get something big like a Fahrenheit or a duck of an underneath this jacket and still have the mobility and the range alright guys. It’s time to talk about which one is right for me and that’s a question that only you can answer, it’s gonna come down to a couple of couple of factors, one.

How much are you wanting to spin two or you wanting one jacket, or are you wanting a complex system and where do you hunt and when do you hunt? So if you want one duck hunting jacket that you can wear year-round early season through late season, you only want one shell to wear the delta wedding jackets. For you just wear this thing: fishing! You can keep in your truck as a rain jacket. You can wear early till early goose all the way into the late seasons.

You can you can pack whatever you want to underneath it a duck, oven, a Fahrenheit. If you have your older camera, maybe you this is the only Sitka piece that you have lets you plan on getting for duck season. You want to put an older another brand jacket underneath that you think’s warm, that’s perfectly fine. You can put that underneath the Delta wedding jacket and it’s going to lock all that heat in and keep everything out, and it’s about a hundred dollars cheaper than the Hudson.

The Delta wedding jacket goes for. 399 Hudson goes for $4 99. If you are a waterfowl er, who also only wants one jacket, but you also only hunt in later season colder temperatures. This is the jacket for you, the Hudson. You don’t plan on doing early til. If you don’t plan on doing early goose. If you know your temperatures are gonna, be thirty and below down into the teens in January. You want one waterproof, shell with insulation, one good solid jacket.

This is the jacket for you, the Hudson. You won’t need to layer a whole lot underneath it it’ll still keep you warm. This is also a great option so which one should you go with? You’re just gonna have to think about that on your own and think about when you’re going to use it and what you’re going to get or when you’re gonna get the most out of it, which one of these two fits the style that you want, where you hunt and decide from there.

But I would definitely tell you that if you’re all in the fence, I probably go with a delta wedding jacket, if you’re on the fence about it, because it’s a little bit cheaper and you still have the ability to use it in a wide variety of settings, and you can still use some of your older insulation to put underneath it. Alright guys, thanks for stopping by I hope you enjoy. Today’s comparison, video don’t forget to check out our full review of both jackets on our channel.

We have our rut here in Georgia pickin up here in the next week or so so. Once again, thanks for stopping by see you next time.

My name is Dana, and today we have the new Sega Delta waiting jacket. Now this is the uninsulated version of some of the sick, uh jackets in their water foul line, and this is in the marsh pattern, we’re going to go over a couple of the features of this jacket and why I picked this jacket over some of the other jackets in the sicker line. First off there is a rubber cuff, which is really helpful in work out situations: lots of water, it’s very, very good- at what it does.

I poured water all over the sleeve and it just beads off real nice and the cup keeps your full rest. Your arm dry. Some of the other features of this jacket has two big shell holders right here at the base and as well as hand warmers up high. It does come with call holders, but it does give you the option to take them off, which I originally had them taken off real easy. You just pull up and take them.

It does have pit zips, as you can see, and all of the zippers here and here are taped. It does have zippered pockets right here to hold phones and licenses things that you don’t want it to get wet. The hood has tabs right here that you can pull that tightens the hood around your face as well as in the back this lets. You pull the hood around your face that way. The hood moves with your head when you’re looking for for ducks or geese, but also keeps your head can – and dry the reason that I picked this jacket out of some of the other jackets in sickness Linna is it’s uninsulated.

So that means that it is just the shell on the inside here it’s just fabric and I like that, because it gives me the option to layer in the early season. I can just wear this if it’s raining and fifty degrees I don’t have to wear anything underneath it, but in the late season, when it’s 20 degrees, I can put on any of the insulated layers that I own. So that’s one of the reasons that I bought this jacket instead of some of the insulated jackets, already come with something inside of them, and this is the sick, adult awaiting jacket.

The belt awaiting jacket is one of our outerwear pieces that I see fitting in very well with my arsenal. We’ve got a section of our property that is flooded timber, sometimes it’s between me and and and waist-deep, and we’ve got a way through some stuff. So the length of the jacket is great. The fact that it’s uninsulated also keeps me cool when I’m walking into our shooting hole for that day, because some of them can be quite a little bit of a distance. We don’t drive boats in there.

We don’t drive APB’s, and then we do most by walking. Low-Impact the Delta jacket features a lot of proof. Breathable gore-tex membrane has a fully functional hood with three-way adjustment. What that means? It’s when you have the hood adjusted on your head and you look left or right you’re, not looking into the side of the hood. It actually moves with your head body. It has a number of pockets throughout the jacket, both hand, warmer style pockets and the zippered closure pockets.

Some have magnetic closures. The jacket incorporates pit zips to let heat out or to keep heat in. It has a water sealable, cuff, that is, it has a Velcro closure. The belt of waiting jacket to me is the most versatile piece in our line, because it can be used by itself when it is warmer and it can be used to layer over the ducting jacket as it gets colder. I see it really being something that heads to the line with me pretty much every day of the season. You.

Hey good morning, everybody welcome to or welcome back to figs outside, so pretty excited about this video I’ve been waiting for this stuff for a long time been saving a lot of money um. So today we’re going to be doing a video on some sitka waterfowl gear and uh. If you guys watched any of my other um hunting videos, you know the brand of camo that I wear for big game, but uh that company doesn’t make any uh waterfowl type gear so um for years, I’ve been using just uh big box, brand uh clothing and it’s all worked pretty good um, but I’ve always wanted to try this stuff.

A lot of awesome reviews watched a lot of videos so anyway, so here we go so what we got here is. I just got the the sitka cap, which is in their uh waterfowl, their marsh camo. So it’s a one-size-fits-all cap, just standard just standard ball cap that open so there it is it uh yeah. So that’s the cap, of course, the uh sitka logo, it’s the gorop to fade concealment! Um! I really like this cap.

It uh! It’s really soft um yeah. It seems to be pretty pretty cool, so there’s that stuff there and then I got their grinder hoodie and same same camo pattern. It’s uh, so I’m I’m just over six foot, one um their stuff tends to run pretty true, if not a tiny bit small. So I ordered extra large um. My brother-in-law wears this stuff he’s about my size about my build and he said to order extra large.

I usually on a lot of stuff. I wear larges, but he said with this stuff definitely get the x large. So this is our grinder hoodie, it’s their heavier weight. There’s the hoodie it zips up actually like. If you look at the website, um it zips up up to here. I usually don’t wear that stuff. That high really nice looks like it’s a pretty well built. It’s very, very stretchy, that’s really nice! So it doesn’t restrict your movement.

Of course it’s got a little chest pocket right here and then it’s got that piece to hook over, so it doesn’t slide up your arms. You hook it onto your thumb. You can slide it through almost like almost like thumb holes in the cuffs, but you use that so when you’re putting on a jacket and whatever it doesn’t ride up your arm and you got to sit there and try to fish it back down.

So that’s pretty sweet. It’s got a got the sitka logo on the back, but it’s a pretty sweet piece of gear um. So this is their their zip. It zips most of the way down. So it’s easy on off plus, if it’s hot, you can unzip it to cool. It’s a grid, fleece um! So that’s really! Nice should be nice and warm. It is a vehicle neighbor, and this all right. Let’s set that off to the side.

So there it is the sitka delta jacket. I was looking at the hudson but um some days around here, like today, it’s a beautiful day, I’m going to be out there hunting. I don’t want to have a big bulky, puffy jacket, so I’d rather be able to layer. So on days I could just wear the grinder hoodie and if it starts to rain or whatever I can throw the dakota jack or the delta jacket on they’re, basically the same except the delta is uninsulated where the hudson jacket is insulated.

These are pretty awesome, been looking at these, for, like I said, for a long time, they’re just really expensive. This jacket runs 400 bucks, um, the grinder hoodie is man, I don’t remember it’s it’s a hundred and something and the hat’s 40, but so let’s check it out. These are supposed to be fully waterproof windproof. They have an awesome warranty on them. This garment contains magnets.

Oh, this is. This is a really good warning. This garment contains magnets, which could pose um risks for persons with pacemakers or icd devices hold on one. Second, all right guys. Sorry, I’m back! So that’s a really cool warning on that anyway, um this is like, I said, extra large and then it’s the gore-tex by gore, guaranteed to keep you dry so extremely breathable, very rugged, durably waterproof, totally windproof um, so that’s pretty cool and then their warranty.

We stand behind every product we make backed by our unconditional warranty for quality materials and or workmanship. If you’re unhappy with any sick of your product at the time you receive it feel free to send it back and we will refund it or exchange an exchange jam damage man, I can’t even hardly talk damage due to wear and tear will be repaired at a reasonable cost so for more details, visit sickkidder, sitka gear com, man having a rough one this morning, so anyway, that’s pretty slick, we’re just gonna pop those off really quick right there.

So um this jacket is pretty awesome. It’s got pit zips, which are really really nice. So when it gets hot out, if you are wearing the jacket or you’re waiting or you got to walk into an area or you’re chasing a down bird um a or you sailed one, you start to get hot. You can just pop open the pit zips and it’ll let that heat out. So that’s really cool, there’s two zippers. So if you want to keep it in the middle, you can do that.

So it’s easier to get so you can zip it down or up so that’s really awesome. It’s got this material on the elbows and down the sides of the arm where you’re gonna be resting, your arms so you’re not wearing the main material out, it’s kind of like a cordura type material. So that’s pretty sweet. Another thing: that’s really really awesome and I’ve seen on a lot of other reviews, and one of them is uh.

Another youtube group mid valley, mercenaries. He does a really good review on this jacket, he’s the one that actually got me really looking into this jacket anyway. The cuffs on these are rubber and they’re lined all the way in with rubber, and they designed that specifically for when you got your, you could cinch that down onto your sleeve your wrist and if you’re, retrieving decoys, you’re throwing decoys you’re getting birds or whatever you can actually fully submerge your hand into the water and that water doesn’t travel up into the jacket or get absorbed into that cuff or even if you’re, you know, you’re shooting you’re.

Looking up you’re calling you’re looking up that water doesn’t penetrate through there and go into your sleeve and soak the inside of your jacket, which in turn makes you cold. So that’s a really awesome design, and then we have the hood cinch on the back of the hood, which is really nice keeps out of the way. Plus you also got these ones, so it can pull it tighter and then you got these ones which will suck it down around your your face.

Um! It’s really nice! On the inside edges of the hood um. It’s got this nice, like uh, almost like fleece lining, so it stays comfortable. It’s not going to rub you um or your neck, rub it raw or irritate it. So that’s pretty slick, and then I’m not sure if I’ll be using these or not, but they are really really cool design. Is these? These are actually call lanyards um. You guys check that out.

So, as you know, as waterfowlers, we have a lot of a lot of calls. Um yeah. I guess you could put your bands on there um, although, where I’m at we usually don’t get birds with a lot of bands, they just kind of go around us and head more down into the central valley, but those are pretty cool. They are nice nicely built, got some paracord type material there, my bed so and they do they cinch down.

So you can put your calls in there. So that’s really cool and what’s also really neat, is they’re they’re. They kind of hang, but what’s really cool, is you just clip those push them through and they come off, so you can take them on and off. So like me, I have a lanyard, I don’t know if I’ll be using these or not. I have to check them out because uh I use fully acrylic calls they’re about 140 to 150 bucks, a piece I have anywhere from two to four of those.

If I got my goose calls on me as well, um then I’ll have four of those zinc calls and uh. You know, that’s that’s 600 bucks. You could lose um, I mean it does have a little little keeper in there. It feels like so it kind of grabs on to them pretty good. Actually, so that might be something to to look at and test out and yeah it does. It actually has a little a little tooth in there.

I don’t know if you guys can see that or not, but uh right on the edge of there. It’s got a little little tooth in there that grabs onto that that material. So that’s really cool. It’s got these nice chest pockets. We go all the way over to the side, so that’s pretty sweet, so they’re pretty deep. As you can see, it goes up just to my wrist. So that’s really nice got them on each side and then it’s got the hand warmer pockets also on the sides as well.

So that’s pretty nice. So got those nice hand warmer pockets. Plus it’s got velcro, there’s the little little magnets right there that they talk about for this, for everybody, that’s wearing those pacemakers and stuff might actually. No. So anyway, it’s got the velcro plus it’s got the little magnets there’s the bottom of it so yeah it does. Actually it does have a magnet up here, so that would actually be closer to a person’s heart.

It has one on each side um right there and that’s so that flat, if you do lift it up, it just doesn’t keep falling down. So it keeps that flap up. I don’t know if you guys can see that you can hear it. That’s pretty cool, but it’s got nice deep, bellow, pockets, that’s really really nice! So let’s take a look at the inside of the jacket. So that’s the inside of the jacket, like I said it’s unlined or uninsulated.

So it does have an inside pocket here like these. Jackets are supposed to be fully waterproof and all that. So that’s really nice! You can put your wallet in there if need be um or your keys. It’s got a cool keeper in there. That’s really neat a little lanyard. I don’t know if you guys can see that or not so that’s pretty nice and it does not have one on this side. So that’s that’s all right, but right here on the inside of the jacket, it’s got these so you can adjust the waist, keep those nice and tight.

So, like I said, I’m I have a 72 inch, wingspan um from fingertip to fingertip and I’ve measured for gloves and stuff before. So I know from right here at the very edge of my wrist to the tip of my fingers actually right at eight inches, so 72 inch wingspan um, so I’m looking at let’s take away 16, so 56 inches, so 56 inches. You see this. They designed these jackets, so you can layer under them.

That’s why they’re a little bigger because you don’t want it really tight and then try to put layers on there. Anything like a grinder, hoodie or another piece of garment underneath the grinder hoodie like another thermal or something else, that’s a little bit lighter weight, so they actually design them. So you can layer them! That’s why they make them a little bit bigger. You can cinch everything down.

That’s those cuffs that I was talking about really nice. You can cinch those things down pretty good. So I said, 72 inch wingspan. This is an extra large and I don’t know if you guys can see that it fits really really well. I actually have a little bit of room in there, which is that’s what you want, so you actually have a little bit of stack in your arms instead of you know, because I’ve tried on some different jackets and some of the other big box stores and even on their larges or x-larges.

Unless I look at the the talls, but it’s pretty hard to find a tall excuse me or a big and a jacket um in some of the bigger companies- and you know you try them on and some of them they just they ride above your wrist and that’s real uncomfortable, it’s not very convenient, and so anyway, this is the jacket. I said it. Zips up really nice gets up. High gets up tight. You can cinch everything down um.

I think I’m gonna dig this jacket, I’m really gonna love it and uh. Like I said, I’ve seen a lot of really good reviews on these and uh yeah nobody’s complained about them. So pretty awesome. I can’t wait to wait to get out there and try it um. Of course, right there. It’s got the gore-tex logo, this gore-tex pro. So there it is the sitka delta jacket. It’s pretty sweet, so really really digging that really really liking this jacket.

So it seems really comfortable got a lot of room. It moves with. You really really well like. I said this is an extra large, I’m just over six foot, one I’m like 202 pounds, um right when I wake up in the morning so check this out said this is their grinder hoodie, it’s their waterfowl marsh camo! It’s got that nice grid fleece. In there check it out, let’s check it. Let’s check it out, um, definitely gonna wash it.

It’s got all these little white, fuzzies floating off of it. So same thing got a little bit of stack there. It’s our extra large! That’s it fully goes down my hand up to my knuckles. So that’s pretty awesome. There’s that little thumb loop. So when you do slip on your jacket, it doesn’t pull your sleeve there. It is it up, keeps your sleeve, nice and down by your hand where it should be so.

Here’s the grinder hoodie by sitka, pretty awesome, can’t wait to get this stuff out and try it and use it, and it’s definitely going to get used and see. So this is that this is that hood design that I was telling you about um. They got it so when it’s really cold, you could zip this thing up and uh covers you up quite a bit. You know, and then you got your hood on over it.

So you’re pretty covered um. If you wear face paint or whatever I do um, you only have to cover a small portion. You can actually still pull this down and call comes right back up, that’s pretty sweet! It’s got a nice little chest pocket on there um and this it’s actually pretty warm um right now, the sun’s hitting me it’s cold out. It’s probably right around, like 54 degrees.

So it’s not super cold, but it’s cold enough and I’m actually getting pretty warm in this and uh yeah. This feels really good stretches really really well. So I’m digging that and plus you know, if you get hot, you can unzip it. Let some of that heat out. That’s pretty awesome. I’m really liking this stuff, showing some skin my bad and, of course, we got the sitka cap and pull this through the little rings.

There we go. Oh perfect didn’t even have to adjust it, so this is not their their gore-tex cap um, it’s just their their standard, um their standard cap, it’s the uh yeah, just the sitka cap and the optifade waterfowl marsh camo. This hat is super comfortable. It’s actually got a little bit of stretch to it. It’s very, very soft, um yeah. It’s really really soft. I really like that.

Cap um, the inside’s nice got a nice little sweat band in there um. It’s got that piece so anyway got the logo on the front, um kind of shiny. I don’t know I might end up kind of blacking that out, but anyway, that’s that’s what we got. We got the sitka cap, the sitka grinder hoodie cap, the grinder hoodie and the sitka delta jacket. So that’s my review on it thanks for I’ll be doing a little bit more of a review later on, probably out in the field I’ll be showing you guys.

You know me putting my arm in the water and all that um and then uh. You know using it in the downpours and uh, we’ll we’ll definitely be checking it out. Also they send you a nice little sick. Thank you. So this stuff is expensive. If you save up for it, you know um, you might not be able to have it that year, uh, maybe the next year, but you save up for it from everything I’ve read and all the reviews I’ve watched and stuff.

It’s definitely going to be worth it. I’ve. You know been doing this for a long time and uh, I’m really now just getting into the filming and I’m really getting really really serious in the waterfowl, probably within the last five years, upgraded all my gear, um and uh. You know it takes time, and so, if you can’t afford the stuff right off, the get-go don’t feel bad. Just you know buy the best you can and as long as it works for you, that’s that’s great, I’m not sponsored by sitka or any of the other companies that I use, but I work hard and I save so anyway with that being said, I thank you for watching this video thanks for hanging out with me and uh.

If you could just please hit that thumbs up button and the notification bell and uh subscribe, I would greatly appreciate it so we’ll get to you guys later and we’ll see you in the field have a good one.

Everyone, this is Matt again with the northern angler here in Traverse City Michigan today we’re taking a quick look at the free stone waiting jacket from Sims fishing. This is probably one of our most popular waiting jackets because you don’t have to break the bank to get something waterproof, breathable and they’ll. Keep you nice and dry when you’re out fishing, so three layer tour, a waterproof, breathable Torrey is not as well known as gore-tex, but that’s okay. Torrey is specifically designed for waders and waiting jackets and we really like it.

It’s super breathable and super durable and we’re we’re big fans. So a few features here we have a lot YKK water resistant zipper and a storm flap to keep all the elements out. They fleece-lined around the cuff here so that when you really cinch down, it’s not rubbing hunter on your chin there so seal that up you’ve got to drop in or bellows style pockets. You see they can expand from the side there. You can fit a huge box in there pair of gloves, hand warmers flask, whatever you need there’s two built in zingers on each pocket, which is really nice to keep your nippers there or your forceps.

Your pliers really easy. There’s two fleece-lined hand warmer pockets on the side. For when you need to warm back up, there’s no zipper here, but we haven’t had much trouble with these filling up with water. It’s a shorter cut jacket, it’s designed to be in the water, so it’s matched up well with waders. Usually these jackets are a lot shorter because you’re in the water, you don’t need a jacket down to your knees, so always know that with wading jackets, when you see that it’s gonna be a shorter jacket, the hood really nice there’s three points of adjustment too.

On the side here, one on the back there’s a cuffed in bill, keep the rain out of your eyes, so you can really cinch it down. It’s nice comfortable, there’s a d-ring on the back for your neck and a Velcro patch for fly again. Big fan of this there’s tons of arm lengths in this I have big long, arms and I have no trouble with this. This is a large, but cuff is a really simple, but very effective. No catch design, it’s molded and just velcro’s down, keep your arms dry. You can release that big fish in the middle of winter.

All right that says this again is the free stone waiting jacket from Simms fishing. It retails at two 69 95, it’s available small through to extra-large, and this is the Stryker gray color only offering it in one color this year, but that may be expanded. We have it here at our retail location, in Traverse, City, right on Front, Street and online at the northern angler calm.

Of the sims freestone waiters, this is not the zipper one that came out one that zipped down the front. So let me just kind of go over the features. Real, quick, I’ll. Try it on this is the medium and I’ll show you guys all the the tech on the inside so all made in China. Of course, this has got a quadrille, lamb, tour, a stuff I’ll leave the specs in the description below you guys, a property already looked at the specs in trying to drop $300 on this I bought this on Bass Pro last year for about the three hundred dollar mark actually, and they don’t leak as a right, yet I know that’s the biggest requirements for wager system, not leak, I believe all waiters leak.

Eventually. So that’s that’s the bad part. That’s my personal opinion. They are way more rugged than another brand that was around one hundred and fifty dollars two hundred dollars, so they have a lot more layers on them. They have the built in gravel guards and they have the neoprene stocking feet on each side. They actually keep you pretty warm they’re, actually nicely sealed and taped.

The gravel guards worked really well. They have the little hook in the front to grab a hold of your booth. I know we pair these with buckskin corker boots, which I’m not gonna, wear now just for the review purposes, but so, if I don’t pretty here, I got lots of miles on them, even though it doesn’t look like it and that’s kind of the point they’re very rugged. My last pair I felt like if I was banging through the bush.

I was gonna rip them open. So these aren’t like that, so they have a nice zippered semi, waterproof pocket in the front and I can show you guys that zipper real quick. We have a little felt drying patch here for your flies. I normally have camera gear on and all everything so I don’t know me use this pocket actually started using it to have my GoPro on and they have these fleece lined pockets to keep your hands warm one of the other things I really like about this is the the strap design and I’ll show you guys what I’m talking about is so, if you’re looking that right there so that those two are different and those two are different.

So that basically means you can’t cross, strap your strap. So you usually you can feel that anyways, you can’t cross strap them. You can only hook them up one way at a time unless you double cross them, but then you definitely feel that. So let me try these on and the microphone might be able to hear all of this crinkling noises, but this material is is fairly loud and fairly rugged.

So let me reach over and pop those up make sure they’re not twisted. Like I said you can’t cross them, that’s really nice pop those over and then you have a waiting belt. That’s not a built-in waiting belt, which I guess there’s pros and cons to that. If you want to change it to a fancy, trout pattern waiting belt, I guess you could but I don’t really care personally waiting. Both those tasks, there’s a lot of actually room in there right now, I normally wear I notice.

We, our pet sweatpants, underneath and I, know me we’re either long jaws or something else and I’m normally a couple layers underneath this and then a jacket over the top. So that’s nice! Where is nice? These straps don’t loosen up? It’s got a little hanging, strap on the back like I said: I, don’t really use a drawing patch I haven’t proved that this is water-resistant. Yet I have fallen in a couple times, but wait a moment have a battery or something in there that did get wet because they had open and when I try to fit waders all right, you know, buy them.

First buy them for the size, like I, said, I’m a medium and these medium regular. My pant size is a thirty to thirty, probably like a thirty four thirty, depending on what time of year it is so. Let me show you guys something real, quick. What I’m trying these on I’m trying them on with a squat, so I want to be able to bend down, have enough room in the seam of the pants in order to bend down and scoop the fish up, so make sure you buy a little bit bigger than you think you need.

They do size them a little bit big and same with the boots. They say the stocking think they actually size them for wearing wool, socks and stuff. Like that to keep you keep your feet warm so if I was gonna say, buy one of these I would say yes, I would give it a double thumbs up. They are super rugged, double laminated in the knees or quadrille lam material is kind of loud and kind of crinkly, and it’s not very, very flexible, especially on cold winter days, but they haven’t leaked.

It’s been one year. I’ll leave the link in the description on how to buy these. My shirt for sale, sure if they’re for sale on Amazon or not I’ll, also do a one-year update in this link next year to see if these things leak yet- and you guys see me- fish die fish. A lot I beat on my all. My equipment I try not to but I’m banging through the bush, trying to get those shots for you guys.

So, if you guys liked you to see grab a pair, are these Sims freestone waders they’re really comfortable and they don’t leak and they’re pretty rugged they’re way more rugged than you know. Your hundred and fifty dollar pair of waders now see you guys out in the water.

Sins fishing products, The Sims, freestone waiter, offers an exceptional value and a four-layer tour, a quadrille and fabric to waterproof/breathable, with our center front seam to eliminate the inside rub on the knees, has a three-and-a-half millimeter neoprene foot with built in gravel guard lightweight four layer upper built in hand warmer pocket. That’s fleece, lined with a Velcro opening on top for large storage area, features a flip-out pocket for more gear storage, car keys wallet, cell phones, etc.

The symphysis vendor system, it’s a sims, freestone weight. You.

Hey I’m Jim product designer for waiting jacket is an important part of your gear, but traditionally these jackets are heavy and bulky. The ultralight jacket offers all the features of a guide class waiting jacket, but it packs down to about the size of a water bottle and can easily fit into a sling pack or vest wear it when you need it pack it when you don’t as part of the ultralight weighting system, it’s the ultimate in versatility.

Let’s take a look at its features, constructed from a three layer, waterproof breathable nylon fabric. It has a 20k waterproof rating and 30k breathability rating one of the best on the water. Every seam is fully taped for true waterproof performance. A durable water repellent finish, makes rain, beat up and roll off the surface. The shell fabric is also built with the two-way stretch for increased mobility. Ykk aqua guard zippers help keep the elements out three way adjustable.

Storm hood allows for a custom fit when the weather gets harsh to vertical storage, pockets and two side. Zip pockets are lined with our four way: stretch: power mesh, allowing for increased storage, cross ventilation and easy access to gear. An internal power mesh pocket conforms to load and offers additional storage. Plus there are two conveniently located: rubberized tabs for tool docking an integrated, cuff system seals out water when landing and releasing fish a fully adjustable, hem helps lock out weather and, finally, a d-ring on the back hold your net.

Not only is this a great weighting jacket, but when packed with the ultralight boots and waders, they take up less than one cubic foot of luggage space and weigh less than six pounds. That’s a huge benefit when traveling not to mention a lot less weight to carry on the water.

Come along children now we’re going to Cahill from Ginga gasoline I’m here at I, have TD 2017 and I’m in the orga smooth with Thom Rosenbauer Tom. How are you good Louis? What’s the sharp stuff your buddy here is wearing well, his name is Louis right here we go.

Let’s see that not quite he can’t pull it off anyway. Louis is modeling. The latest in ultra light weighting gear, so start with it from the top down ultra light weighting, jacket to layer, very durable, seam, sealed. Obviously, waterproof breathable jacket has room for tacky fly boxes, nice in the front and waterproof zipper. Actually I can’t say waterproof, you know technically say water-resistant, but it is you’re not going to get wet yeah.

That’s for right, not for swimming Yeah right, not for immersion. You know little features like these to put your zingers on and there’s a three-way adjustable hood. So, regardless of what kind of hat you wear or if you don’t wear a hat, you’re gonna have a brim, that’s gonna cover yet not glasses, or your sunglasses, nice and slick on the front. Nothing yeah and yeah. There’s a DWR coating, but it packs down to the form you can put it in the back of a fishing vest or in your sling bag or or right, and that’s the key on this stuff right.

It’s all for for travel and taking up as little space in this little weight as possible. M. It comes quickly to a Fisher man. Goodness here and you know, light weight is important, plus it’s more comfortable yeah later it is the more comfortable. It’s gonna be right on the water. This is nice, looking jacket, yep and then you can see all the seams on the inside tape. Just like waiters, oh yeah I’ve got a couple of more little pockets in here, yep, very cool, and so this also has waiters that go with it right, not necessarily has to go with it.

Yeah should be a system yeah, and these are the these- are ultra lightweight, errs it’s a very lightweight fabric. It’s actually the fabric that we’ve used in our sonic waders. For a long time, the outer fabric is to say we’re really than happy with that fabrics comfortable. It’s light, durable, a lot of noise, it’s not stiff. We have replaced a laminate with a new laminate, that’s about twice as breathable Oh, laminate yeah, so so same waterproofness, better breathability, mm-hmm and one of the most important things is.

It is that we designed these waders. Although they’re light we want, have to hold off they’re, not you know not disposable they’re, not no they’re, not for a couple seasons. We’re on the hold up so in the high stress areas, in the crotch and in the inseam and in the knee most way or all waders are made and they’re stitched and then there’s a piece of waterproof tape right over that. Well, we did in those high stress areas.

Is we added a second tape? That’s a seam reinforcement tape which takes the you know. The industry average for seam strength is about 44 pounds, so 44 pounds 2 seconds to destroy the scenes yeah. We measure that to stop the water fitness. We we measure all these scenes, both ours and competitors, and this the seams are reinforced to go 277 pounds Wow. So it’s a real, it’s all mobile and yeah, and it’s a place where you know if winters are going to blow up they’re going to blow up and either to the crop, yeah you’re, stepping over a log or something or yeah yeah.

So so that’s going to be a big improvement here. You know, you know they look nice. This is one of the most exciting features. These are convertible ways. I know they can be waist waders, no more chest. Waders, but these fid lock magnetic closures are one-handed operation. All you have to do is go like that there and they’re in place and they’re gonna stay there, so you know to remove them, pull them down and then just slide them up and they snap into place cool in the morning warms up in the afternoon.

You can shed some of that down yeah for your tail water anglers where the water is cold and you want waiters. But it’s a warm day. That’s nice, yeah wanna cross the deep spot that you just pull right on. So the other, and one of the other things is that the gravel guards are self fabric. So this is the same fabric. All the way down to the gravel guard right. There’s like no same yeah, there’s no seam there, no area for you know for pulling out or anything makes them.

It makes a moonlighter without that seam they’re just glued in place here. Oh it’s a you know. It’s a self fabric. Gravel guard makes him look a little slimmer, yeah yeah. We also did did slim the legs down on our fit a little bit. We change the fit wait a bit. We slipped some of the legs down. Some of our some of our other waiters were a little too blossomy yeah water. If that’s the right word but yeah, you know you know you want to cut down on water resistance, wanna be more comfortable, a little slimmer leg, nice yeah! That’s that’s a nice addition and they’re sharp, looking waiters yeah.

Well, we have a real designer on our staff right on upgrade yeah Jim Kershaw, a real designer, oh very cool, Willie’s denigrated up their design of the you know these two to all. Look nice together, along with the new isolate boot matches, yeah that I ran out with this Way’s. But it’s you know it’s like. Oh wow, that is yeah yeah, remarkably life, yeah very cool looks pretty durable too it is, it is durable. You know.

We’ve reduced weight by using this chlorine Oh fabric and also most waiting shoes have a rubber strip here, which adds some wood. But we did was it’s a rut? It’s a coating. It’s a spray-on coating like a bed line no way yeah like a bed liner in a truck. Oh that’s awesome, art and they have this. They have that same sole. That we’ve been using up three years: yeah, which is a which is a hydrometer harder rubber on the outside from ability and then sticky, rubber, nice underfoot.

Obviously they can be studded right as well, and then I’ve been wearing these boots for about a year now and they’re, so comfortable, they’re, padded them generously, Pat, oh yeah, in the ankle you know, and in the tongue with a fairly thick foam. It feels more like a like a cross being an ultralight, hiking boot or more hiking boot design, yeah right and this material looks like it would dry really quickly. It does Drive very, very quick, yeah, that’s a big thing for me when you’re flying yeah and you you’re, going from the river to the airport and I always take my boots and time on the roof of the car on the way to the airport to try to drive.

Oh that’s it. It works. No, it works yeah, but you know then you’re always here you’re right at that 50 pound limit going out and the ant wet boots in the bag and you’re over. Have you ever forgotten them on the top of your truck? Never exam, not yet I’ve never lost a pair cool there. You go yeah and you know for the invasive species issue to the promoter. They drive. It quicker, you’re sure that they’re safe to take out in the watershed.

Well, this is a really cool system and for anglers that are traveling fish in the summertime. I think it makes a lot of sense, yep, very cool. Well, thanks for taking the time tom today great stuff, as always, yep thanks for tuning in to kink and gasoline and stay tuned for more from I FTD 2017.

Hi I’m Hank Patterson world-renowned I’m reviewing this new lightweight rain jacket for my friends over at Orvis, it’s uh, it’s new, it’s a lightweight yeah! It’s like super light like feather like you, don’t even you know, realize it’s there, and and and it’s great and apparently in the rain, which it’s not raining right now, but allegedly it’ll it’ll, keep you dry in the rain. We’re not like I said it’s. We haven’t had rain and like a couple of months here, but it’s, but if it did rain, which it’s now okay cut the give this a stupid cut the camera I.

Can’t we can’t do a rain jacket in the Sun hold on okay, I’m gonna make it call hey. So here’s the thing we’re out here we’re trying to do the review of the rain jacket. You sent, you know and it’s killer jacket, but it’s it’s not raining it right, yeah! No! No! No! It’s it’s! It’s really been. It’s been sunny. It hasn’t rained in like three months or something like that, and it’s not even in the here’s. What I’m saying it send me. The new Helios three fly rod in, like maybe an eighth weight hash panels in San, Hank, pH 3, and let me do a review of the other rod and then later in the spring, when it gets, you know all rainy and stuff like that.

Then then we do the jacket uh-huh, okay, so that’s still the jacket first and then maybe okay, so not the not the rod right now: okay, yeah! No, no, no I’m good with that I’m good with that, so, okay, hey another thing, I was going to tell you is that I, hello, hello, we’re gonna, go ahead! Jacket come on, Shawn leave the phone, but but it’s my phone yeah. Well, you should have thought about that. Hi, I’m, Hank, Patterson, world-renowned, fly-fishing, expert and guide, and today here in the Sun I’m reviewing this new lightweight Orvis rain jacket in the Sun.

It’s uh, it’s light. It’s a jacket, it’s all jacket! Ii, it’s got zippers, you know for all your your zipping needs and it does look good I mean there’s. One thing you can’t argue with I mean whether it’s raining or not. I I, look! Damn good! In this jacket, but of course the question is: does this rain jacket keep you dry in the rain and the answer is no apparently apparently and allegedly yes, it does keep you dry in the rain. Your torso I mean it’ll, keep your torso like from here up, it’s gonna, you know, keep you dry, I mean like like below here from here down.

It’s not gonna. Do anything. It’s not a magic jacket right. So just it’ll. Keep this part dry and I shouldn’t even really have to explain that this rain jacket won’t keep your pants dry, but you know what will happen. Is I’ll put out this review and some jackass is gonna, buy the jacket, he’s gonna, wear it to his kids, baseball game and it’ll rain like hell, and then he’s gonna get his pants all wet and sit in a puddle or something then he’s gonna email me and he’s gonna be like hey.

You know, you said this jacket will keep me dry and and he’ll send me pictures of his soaked pants and then the guy, whose kid probably sucks at baseball, is gonna. Sue me for emotional distress of you know getting his junk wet at a baseball game while wearing this jacket, I mean this. This is a world we live in folks, right litigious. They call it seriously happens. All the time I mean not to get off point or anything I mean this is a review for the new Orbis rain jacket.

You know I want to stay focused on that, but here, if I put out a video of me putting my head in an alligator’s mouth or pouring hot sauce, all over my eyeballs I have to put a disclaimer that says something like you know, do not try this at home or else I’ll get sued like, for example, one time I shot. A video of me spraying bear spray all over my cousin Wally. You see that and in my lawyer says, if you’re gonna put out this video, you have to put do not try this at home and and I was like what can I just put no duh, and he was like what you can put no duh, but only after you put do not try this at home.

It’s ridiculous. You see what I mean anyway, so ok, the new Orbis rain jacket, it’s pretty sweet, I, just I just really wish it was. It was raining because I don’t know that you really get the full effect of what this jacket is capable of. You know in the Sun, but it’s not even I mean rains not even in the forecast, and so there’s no way for us to show you that well actually have an idea. The new Orvis ultra lightweight weighting jacket, it’ll, keep you dry in the river out of the river, whether it’s raining or not.

Ultralight performance, we’re gonna talk them, so you can fish farther away from the warm comfortable dry places where fish don’t live. What we did was simple: we removed the weight and kept the durability to do this. We got inspired by backcountry travel, use the best materials available and created a system, a product that does what it’s supposed to we’re talking about a jacket that packs the size of a water bottle, waders that convert with a single hand and a pair of boots that you could dunk in.

If you can dunk. This is the system that you won’t notice until you need it is the fits anywhere, bring everywhere, ultralight and watertight setup that will join you on every adventure go where they won’t catch, what they don’t and stay dry along the way. Orvis, ultralight, fish farther.

Hey I’m Jessie product developer fishing, but once iconic vests, that hung by every anglers door has disappeared off the streams in the last decade for a number of reasons, but is still one of the best ways to organize yourself for a day on the water. So we thought it was time to bring the fishing vest into the modern age. The ultralight fishing vest is the result, reducing weight and modernizing function.

Let’s take a close look at the features. First of all, the vest weighs only about 12 ounces. The low-profile design keeps load closer to the body and slimmer fit reduces the layered bulk of conventional vests. The lightweight material treated with durable water repellency dries faster and breeze, better and strategically integrated mesh offers, ventilation, form-fitting, comfort and reduced weight.

All the pockets are vertical, which are much easier to access in horizontal pockets. There are four large exterior vertical chest: pockets, two of them with internal stretch, mesh pockets that expand to accept more gear. Two chest: pockets higher on the shoulder hold, leaders, Tippett and other accessories on top of these pockets are two multi-function fly patches that hide a port for a zinger construction design, allows nippers to nest under the patch, but are instantly available when you need them.

Forceps can slide underneath the fly patch and clip in right here there are also four interior pockets. The top right internal pocket has a key clip, so you never have to worry, and the bottom two are built with stretch mesh to hold bulky gear, the front clip closure, slides up and down to customize the fit to elastic cords on either side, let you add a tippet bar or other accessories and finally, on the rear of the vest.

There is a zippered pocket large enough to pack an ultra light weighting jacket. A d-ring is also here for clipping on a net and keeper. We all grew up with vests and understand what a great organizational tool they can be. The ultralight fishing vest modernizes it to meet the demands of today’s angler.
