Hey there Betty hello and welcome to relaxed mouth today, we’re going to be reviewing a sleeping bag and it is in the middle of January, but it is a nice enough day and it’s supposed to be a cool enough night. Gonna, try out this bad boy. This guy is the coleman oak point sleeping bag. It’s for the big and tall guys. Apparently, this puppy is about septa supposed to spit guys up to 6 foot 4 I’m, 6, foot 2, so I shouldn’t have to be able to bury my head in about two inches and and be quite well.

This is according to what the Box in all the packaging will go around around the box on it. First brought up here, see if I can hold this without dropping, but then you know, as you can see, it says it’s about 30. The Coleman comfort range on this is a 30 to 50 degree, Fahrenheit sleeping bag. So it’s supposed to be. You know, on the on the cool side of things, it’s not cold.

You’re not gonna, be in the sub-zero temperatures and be able to sleep in this puppy, but you’re supposed to be supposed to be comfortable, but for everything I’ve ever seen. People have a hard time really understanding what those what those numbers mean so I’m gonna find out what does the 30 to 50 temperature range mean, and so tonight we’re supposed to be getting around 40, so we’ll be sitting right in the middle of that puppy, which is supposed to be comfort.

It’s supposed to be for the comfortable rain, so we’re gonna be about 38, 40 degrees and so I figured heck. Let’s go ahead and let’s try this puppy out. Let’s see, what’s going on so I had to pitch my a wonderful tent so anyhow, but this is a cool weather sleeping bag. It’s supposed to have a patented, no snag zipper, which alright, that’s good.

Nothing like trying to get into a sleeping bag in the zipper snags on everything supposed to be also be a way to make a roll control which makes rolling the bag up easier. Don’t know what that means. We’re gonna be finding that out. Also, there’s a note: I patented enclosure, honestly I, have no clue what that means. Um so, but also it’s machine washable and you can actually even zip it together.

So you can actually breed your sleeping bags or make the sleeping bags together. So the according to the top here, where the label that you’re not supposed to be able to remove but they’ve printed it on there. So I guess it’s next to impossible to remove so I won’t be breaking the law course. I am the customer. So sorry, but yeah it is the supposed to have the outside is going it’s supposed to be polyester.

It’s supposed to be made by some gal named Polly polyester and the inside is actually supposed to be a cotton flam so which is really good because the inner shoe lining is, you know you come across these less expensive ones, where they’ve got that really slick, nylon, feel and also nylon kind of it feels too cool for me. I’ve laid on top of nylon I’ve had some nylon sleeping bags before and when I was little and they they feel cold to me.

So I really do like a good flannel lining inside lining the outside polyester I’m, not really gonna, be sleeping on top of the sleeping bags right, so I’ll be inside, so we’re gonna be trying that out. So let’s go ahead. Let’s open this thing up and let’s see what we have so crack crack crack crack crack and if you jump out there we go it’s a so see if I can figure out where there we go.

It’s that sticky stuff saran wrap. So there we go yeah. Now we have that all undone and we have looks like a set of okay. Well, that’s a nice way to do it. It is just hooked on, but you got a little hook that connects to here. So maybe that’s what they were meaning by the no tie system. It could be wrong cuz. So that’s I! Guess that’s what they mean by the no tie system.

It’s supposed to just so what I’m doing is are what I’m looking at here is like a sheep shank, almost where you put it in there and it binds. You have enough pressure pulling down on this, that it binds up on to on the cord, and so it’s not supposed to slip as easily but I don’t know, I’m, not gonna say that it does or it doesn’t because well, first time me doing of me doing it.

It didn’t work too terribly well anyhow, so they also give you directions on how you’re supposed to actually tie this up. So it is a rollup that has no ties. It’s just got a hook and an ax loop that holds everything now like I said the outside is a to polyester. It’s just that plastic plastic material that that a lot of sleeping bags parachutes.

Other things happen to have the inside is this nice cotton, rather I was actually kind of hoping I hadn’t got to want the elks on it, but I didn’t really have this nice, comfortable, flannel inner lining see here when you got this, this is a limited five-year warranty. You get a five-year warranty with puffy, and so you have a pocket for putting your phone or something else, maybe a heater or light something like that in there here is their patented zipper.

It’s just. It looks like a zipper and but it’s really big. So that’s probably what they’re mean about that’s, not gonna snag, because it’s it acts as what what a lot of people do with a finger and it gets everything out of the way as zipping up. So you got a big fat, it’s not a brass zipper. It is a it’s a plastic zipper, so not a hundred percent sure on the rugged rugged bility of that.

So but anyhow, that’s that’s! What we have. Let’s see, if I can kind of hold this big guy and yeah yeah, it’s weight wise. It’s got some bulk to it. It feels it feels like it’s gonna be fairly comfortable. This is meant for more of a just you’re, not going you’re, not gonna melt rely backpacking with this puppy, because this guy is I’ve got two zippers, which is always good, but a place for your there’s, a hole at the end which, if you’re going deep woods camping in this puppy may not be a good thing, because that’s just big enough for a little snake to come sliding into there make for life to be really interesting.

So, of course, that’s just my my line of thinking of what it could or could not. We’ve got a cleat right there, I, don’t know what that Cletus. For. So it’s keep looking here and, let’s see, there’s nothing else in there. I don’t know what the cleats were. That’s that’s interesting, there’s a tag we have here. This is Oh same thing and a penalty of law, all new material consisting of 100% polyester fighter.

Okay, so the the lining on here it’s a fiber, it’s a polyester batting, which okay, you could definitely make that a lot more, a lot more insulating by using hell, just cotton, but but anyhow they’re using a polyester batting on here. So it’s we’ll see how well that works. Maybe that’s! Okay! So that’s what that? Oh, okay, that’s the okay! The you know I was telling you don’t know what in the world the role control, making rolling easier, okay, gotcha cleat! You got your loop right here, which is right there.

You slide slide supposed to be really easy huh, so it holds this ends together so that while you’re rolling it up, you don’t get the sleeping bag to go through. It starts sliding apart, because you know you outside is actually of a longer distance than the inside, so things get a little sideways to put it in a good way. So anyhow, so that’s what that’s there easy roll control? It’s just it’s a cleat and loop system that helps you stay tied now, once you feel you were to use this in the middle of the night, though, and you’re trying to get that.

Undone. Good luck, but that might actually come in really handy watch. Try that when in the morning, because I’ll be sleeping in here tonight and you’re gonna be joining me join with me. So there we go. That’s the first half of this review and the next will be here in just about three shakes of a lamb’s tail. So as of right now at 11 o’clock at night, crawl in I’m, gonna start off with just shorts and t-shirt and go up from there.

So I can kind of tell it’s already colder than what the what they were predicting. So this might end up being kind of interesting, so I’m one hit and snag they another blanket so I can throw on top if that’s needed so and if I still get too cold and I have to bail and I go and I decide to push out and go head into. The house will do that because I’m doing this in the backyard anyhow folks here we go if I wake up sometime the middle night I will be adding two to this and giving you my insights.

Alright. So wish me luck catch you later. All right well woke up here just a short moment ago, just and temperatures a little warmer but toes are still going to get a little chilled. So well, that’s that’s! All we’ve got here at the moment. So anyhow, let’s see what else I can do to to kind of help warm you up a little bit: cuz yeah, toast, cold and yet we’re working who yet timer going okay.

So today we’ve done a nice, it doesn’t slip tonight and, as you can tell it’s, the insulation qualities on this are a little lacking. They need to be worked on just a lot for a thirty degree and I’m a warm natured person. So for that to actually be something says, it says a lot so but anyhow, so let’s see how everything else works on unrolling uh, so make sure your zipper is all the way up now, as we noticed before we have these cleats and we have a couple of cleats stuck out to the through here.

We now know what those are for that is. You take cleat, there’s a loop on the other end. Well, we got wind, so my tempers trying to try to get put up put itself up, so you have one you have another one on this set and so like that, so they worry. You’ve got everything all lined up scoot, your back, so y’all can see. What’s going on so yeah, as you see, cleat holds everything together.

Cleat the loop holds everything together so now from the open side. That would tell me that a this time, which it’s not difficult at all, you then have your little loop again around here and then let’s come up close with this, so you have a hook and the string that it loops around so you’ve loops around here and you just get it as tight as you can hook it on, and it puts it in enough of a bind that it holds everything together.

So there you go, you got it rolled up. All right rolling is very, very easy. I like that. That is one of the easiest rolls I have ever done so the Coleman sleeping bag here, I like it just well one because well I, finally got a sleeping bag again, so gonna be a little partial, but for a general purpose, let’s, let’s go actually I’m gonna, say I did that backwards, because that’s really weird way of holding that.

So let’s go this and let’s string it through you like that bet you, this will hold it down a little better, okay! Well anyhow, so anyhow, there you go, that is a great bag, I’m, not gonna, say 30 degrees. I. Would honestly say you might be comfortable with this at about 45 degrees, up to maybe best 65 I think they were to put a little bit better higher quality batting in here.

You probably get closer to that. That’s the 30 degree mark that they’re talking about, but right now for just a general use, sleeping bag I definitely recommend it so guys they’ll have a great day jolly you.

Sleeping bags, we got these sleeping bags on Amazon for 16 bucks, apiece their Coleman 20 to 40 degree sleeping bags. It was 31 degrees last night and we were totally fine them. The really cool thing about them is that you can. You can zip to the sleeping bags together. So if you look, we’ve got right on the end there and then on this end here we’ve got the sleeping bag, zip together, two of them, and so that makes it really nice so that you can, you can get in and you can cuddle with your partner.

So you can stay nice and warm they’ve also got this little uh right. There they’ve got little pockets, so you can put a flashlight in there. So it’s it’s got one of those pockets on either side and then I’ll show you down here at the end when they zip together what it looks like. So there you go. The two sleeping bag, zip together, pretty awesome.

Hey folks, my name is matthew um explaining to my end direction, videos I’m here to describe the product, the coleman, big and tall sleeping bag um. This is coleman right there and big and tall is right there. It is 39 inches by 81 inches. It fits up to people six feet and four inches, I’m actually six foot, one um, and what’s nice about this one, it actually tells you a comfort zone on the box of where it is between 20 degrees to 40 degrees. As a comfort zone. My parents have two sleeping bags that are similar to this they’re.

A little bit more. Heavier we’ve slept in them a couple weeks ago when it was 80 to 90 degrees outside they got a little humid and wet in the daytime, but we had a fan which I recommend people getting for their tents. It can be a small fan, a big fan, to blow on the sleeping bags at night um. By the time we went to bed, they were nice and dry and they were very comfortable, but the other thing I’m showing you on the box before I start getting to any other kind of details is that this comes with the no snag: zipper which is really nice.

It’s a roll. The roll is really controllable, which I’ll show you later in the video and same thing again. This is wrap and roll and the raptor roll is really easy, which my fiance uh will be helping me out with too but anyways getting to the point. This is how it comes packed, packaged up. Um, you open it up. This is just one of them that we have open. We have right now comes nice and classically wrapped up. They will not be this tight ever again, one two on roam um, just because these are factory wrapped.

So don’t expect you know the email, the company and say hey. I can’t get it to be as small as you know, originally came in it’s going to fluff out. These are machine airtight, sealed packages um. So if you want to get it to be this small, pretty much you’ll have to go, buy a 50, 000 machine that will suck the air off and package just like this, when you take it out of the box and you unwrap it and unroll it. It comes out to looking like this, which is very nice and the bag that’s wrapped around.

It is here when you untie the bag and you unroll it. This is what it comes off. Looking like uh, what’s nice about these sleeping bags is that they are all cotton they’re, not um, I’m not sure what they’re called vinyl, um or polyester uh they’re, not the silky type material uh, like my shirt, is here it’s a like a polyester shirt um. I don’t like those because I tend to feel like they’re too noisy, whereas these cotton ones are very breathable, they’re, very comfortable and very easily to sleep in.

I know I’m not getting my english right, so I do apologize um. What we bought two of these for is that we’re going to open them both up- I’m not going to do in this video, but we have a queen cot and we’re going to open both up and we’re going to time or zip them together at the bottom of the feet, which will end up giving us a queen size quilt which will be nice. Now. If you look here, this is where they’re talking about the no snag zipper this little red piece here that they added on this is probably one of the smartest inventions for sleeping bags ever the older ones that my mom and dad have were are probably about 10, 15 years old and they’re still in good condition, but every time you zip and close them, it gets snagged on the littlest fabric, because, if you look here like when you zip them, sometimes the fabric gets closed interior like that and you can tear holes and everything it just gets to be really annoying, and you end up saying words that you wish.

You never have said so on this one. I’m going to demonstrate it’s really nice, because I can open it up, really nice and easy. If I want to close it, I can close it really nice and easy no snags inside no snags on the outside. It’s really nice. So the important thing is to not break this zipper. And what’s nice about the coleman product, is that if anything does breakers rip within the five year warranty that they have that comes with these sleeping bags, they will replace or they will help you get your situation fixed.

They have helped us in the past and we are very pleased with that. So anyways as I’m gonna open it up here, I’ll show you inside it’s all cotton, like I said it’s very fluffy and very comfortable um. It comes with a little pocket. This pocket here is made for cell phones or little handheld lights or emergency items that you need to be putting. I do not recommend anyone ever to put anything with a sharp corner or knives or scissors or anything that can stab you at night.

In here, more or less I would say you can put band-aids in there. You can put a little tape in there. Uh phones, like I said, little led lights or even just a little bottle of hand, sanitizer or even just a little bottle of water. If you can find a little carry case ones, you don’t want anything really except excessively big or heavy in there, because you want to sleep comfortably other than that they are very comfortable. I’m six foot one, so I still have three feet or three inches, I’m sorry, three inches to spare with my feet and more likely.

I do not like to sleep on the edge with my head. I actually like to sleep my head over the edge, so this is gonna, be a very awesome, mattress or sleeping bag. For me, that being said, my fiancee now is gonna pause. The video for a second and she’s gonna help me roll this up and we’ll show you how to roll it up really nice and easily okay. So here’s the sleeping bag folded over what we did is we kept this bag type here on the bottom and we just rolled it over on the side like that um and then also.

I want to show you real, quick that there is these little clips right here like this uh and you can, if you wanted to, you, can stick them in the hole she’s not going to do it, because I don’t want these closed up tight like this, but you can do is you can actually put those through the loops and it would hold the sleeping bag closed, but now she’s going to show you how to roll it up and close it and as she’s rolling it. If you pay attention she’s trying to keep a really nice tight fit.

You don’t want these like super fluffed out, and you don’t want to roll these on dirt or anything because of how much pressure you are putting them down on there. It’s going to get dirty. So if you can do these on a picnic table or inside your tent, that would be better, but as she’s rolling it she’s holding it. Nice and tight, and then she rolls it all the way to the edge all right and, as you can see, that there’s uh the there is these little strings here and that’s what makes this a carrying case and you can tie them nice and tight like what she just did, and you want to make sure that this handle is facing up.

You don’t want to roll that inside the bag or you’re going to have a hard time carrying it and, like I said once you take it out of the box, it’s not going to look the exact same, but as you can see, she’s carrying it and it stays in there nice with those strings held up together and it works out perfectly. So that is the video of how we explained everything on the sleeping bag is, like, I said, is called a coleman, big and tall sleeping bag. Uh, it’s a really nice product.

It’s meant for six foot for four people. You can find it on amazon or you can find it at fleet farm or any other sponsored products or sponsored stores of coleman. The best thing I can tell you right now is that this product works best from probably mid to early spring, all way out to about mid or fall mid or late fall. Late fall is kind of pushing it. It’s rated to, I believe, to about uh. I think it said 20 degrees in the description um. I have slept in sleeping bags like this uh down to about 35 degrees at night, and I’ve kept really nice and warm. I wouldn’t really push anything past minus 30, uh below 30 degrees at night.

If you want something, that’s a little bit heavier and a little bit stronger and keeping you warm in the winter months, coleman does sell a sleeping bag that is graded to a minus 25 degrees, fahrenheit to a 30 degrees. Fahrenheit um, like I said this is an all-cotton sleeping bag. It’s a very good product, I’m not looking to make competition for other companies out there. This is the best one I found on the market for what we need it for um. I can’t tell you exactly what you’re going to like and what you’re not going to like, but this is a a good idea to have, even for summer it works because, like I said it’s very breathable um the nylon sleeping bags are nice but, like I said, they’re just a little bit too noisy for me, and I feel, like I sweat them too much sometimes, but um give or take from mountain hiking.

They actually can be a perfect sleeping bag for those kind of trips. Heck there’s my toes there’s still about six inches left, it’s real silky like and I’ve only been in here in it, and this is the inside. It’s real soft fluffy and it has this pocket. I guess you could put your flashlight in it or even your cell phone and it’s um, it’s a coleman which I was married to coleman. One time wait a minute, so silky won’t stay up and uh. It holds people up to um, uh, five foot eleven and I’m five six so but it it’s good for this weather, 30 degrees to 50 degrees, basically 40 degrees- and I only been in it for about maybe 10 minutes and I’m already getting really really warm anyway.

It’s so cool, I’m just worried about being able to roll it up and put it in this little bag. It’s this small bag. I don’t know how it’s gonna work anyway, coleman’s good brand yeah, my my baby look! This is so soft, so warm and wide too. Oh, I can’t even show you how wide it’s about half the bed. It’s got a nice zipper and it uh uh. I got it all the way down to there, but it even has a zipper on the inside now I just got to get a hat to go along with it like a toboggan or something because when you’re sleeping when you’re camping in uh cool weather, you always need to have a hood or a or a cat, because all that warmth- that’s underneath here will um come out of your head.

They say, and I’ve done that I’ve slept like that before and having toboggan on is really really warm and it keeps you warm and if you can’t have a toboggan hey just get under.
