On the top here you have a flat top. If you need to you can palm the top of this pole. If you’re descending or if you like to use the pole in that way. With that you have really far extended grips. This is just a regular position here but down below the regular grip.

They do come standard with a carbide end but like I said you can buy them separately and replace it with that or use just a Black Diamond Tip Protector that’s press fit over top.
They come standard with the low-profile baskets but they also come with a winter basket. There’re threads there on that tip so you can just unscrew the low-profile basket and put the bigger one on.

These are the black diamond women’s trail ear go quarks trekking poles and. It’s easy to see why these are such a great value they’re really easy to use. They’re pretty lightweight and slightly different from standard poles you’ll see out there because they give you a 15. Degree corrective angle in the grip this is a more natural position for your wrist especially on flat and when you’re. Going down hills the grip is a really. Comfortable natural cork it’s really soft on your hands and actually wicks away sweat below that though you do have. An extended grip which is eba foam when. You reach us at an uphill or maybe off camber trail instead of making micro adjustments to. The actual trekking poles here you can. Grab this grip at just a different spot and continue on your way you can also pawn the top of the pole. Because it’s got a flatter wider top and. Sometimes when I’m hiking on steep downhills I’ll actually take my hands out of the strap and either get a thumb. On the top or just palm the top to get a. Little bit more braking power as i go down and the strap here is nice and. Cushioned it’s comfortable it’s completely adjustable and it’s a really wide strap these poles are in three. Sections which makes them incredibly adjustable to a perfect length these two. External locks couldn’t be any easier to adjust you just flip them open adjust it. To the right height we’ve got markings on there and then flip it closed they. Adjust from about 100 centimeters up to. 125 centimeters and I’m about five six i. Use pulled around 115 centimeters just. For reference now at the bottom the. Poles come to carbide flex tips down at. The end this piece actually protects the. Rest of the poles because if it gets. Caught between two rocks it flexes slightly as opposed to the aluminum. Shaft sections here that might bend or even break if it gets caught between rocks this tip can stand up to a lot. More force and it’s replaceable so it’s. Much easier to replace this piece on the tip rather than the entire pole it seems like a small. Feature but it provides a lot of longevity so you can get years and years of use out of these outstanding poles now the very end of the tip here is. Actually threaded so you can purchase more permanent rubber tips that actually. Screw into the ends you can get a rubber. Tip protector that kind of goes over top. Of all of that kind of like a bootie so. If you’ll often want to interchange from carbide to rubber tip you can actually purchase the rubber tip protector that goes over top all of those are sold. Separately the trekking basket however. Gives you a lot of location in mud or in soft dirt, and they actually come with. Snow baskets so if you need more flotation and snow you can take these off and replace them these weigh in. Right around a pound for the pair and you’ll be hard-pressed to find such a. Feature-rich set of poles at the same price point there was a black diamond women’s trail ergo cork trekking poles thanks for. My new black diamond trail. Ergo cork trekking poles hey everybody. Its marked a lost traveler and we’re. Ready to travel everybody this is going to be a quick overview of the black diamond trail ergo cork trekking poles, and they come. In this box right here and once you open. Everything up to get these instructions. On the do’s and the don’ts of the poles. What i like about these poles prepare. 512 grams or 1 pound and 2 ounces. The extended link is 69 to 140. Centimeters or 27 inches to 55 inches. And once you collapse these down they’ll. Go to 69 inches on the ends there as you. Can see there’s a 38 millimeter trekking. Basket and to take these off you just. Pull down and unscrew counterclockwise that way you can put different baskets on their just a depending on the season. And the terrain that you’re gonna be in and on the end these tips here these. Will unscrew to so you can replace those on the end of this one i have just a. Protection so when you have anything like your backpack or you have it stored somewhere you know this won’t you know do any games to whatever you have around it this is three for this one down here. Three telescoping ends here already got. This one out this is a moon shaft and. This has to flick locks just like i said. Flick that open and then snap it down. This is a lot better than those screw types that are a lot of poles and. Those things get messed up plus you know once you really put some force on there those things like the slide so these right here once you get that locked in this is not moving if you need to adjust the tightness on this chute right here you can use a phillips screwdriver or a flathead screwdriver. This has pork grips which i. Really like it absorbs all the sweat and everything usually when you have the foam type or the plastic you know they get all kind of like mucky and sweaty and it’s. Just the grips not very good then you have a lower foam extension here these. Are fusion straps and then on each one. Of these as you can see i don’t know if i got it in there or not but there’s a i pull this down there’s a left and a. Right and to adjust these just pull on. The top and then just pull this little. Tab down and when i found it from some. People that when i was on the black diamond video you don’t want to come up. Above and put your arm down and grab it. Like this because if you happen to fall down see how your hand gets kind of stuck there you’re not gonna be able break your fall so you want to come from underneath and grip the pole so if you. Fall see how your hands-free like that so that’s a good safety tip there on the. Pole itself you can see all the numbers. There for the top half and then I’ll. Flick this and just extend that out so. There’s all the all your numbers and centimeters and one thing about these is. These won’t rub off some of these guys have had these poles for three and four years and the numbers you can actually still see them so i guess they’re like maybe lasered on there or something i think I’m not really sure but that’s how. That is and then how you want to set it. Up after you get your link down you want your armor on if i can get in the footer but you want basically a 90 degree angle there on your elbow all right so i hope you like these. Again are the black diamond trail ergo cork trekking poles and I’ll leave. Some links at the bottom alright and on. That note traveler oh i think i. Swallowed a bug on that note traveler. Out.
Dan here went to it for the kid um had a. Couple questions about the trekking poles are they essential are they ever a. Burden do they get in the way that kind of stuff first time I’ve ever used trekking poles while hiking and first. Think i noticed right is like an instant in elevation change lose zero speed. Right going from downhill flat up zero. Speed change which is nice you know keep a nice average mph going no matter what. Terrain another thing i like very easy. Smooth extendibility telescopic ness. It’s very easy to just pop out when you. Need and just you know collapse when you. Don’t you know a nice little tuck action. Basically so first time using them and. They there was really never a time when. I wish i didn’t have them bottom line. They were never in the way most packs. Have a very I’d like a spot where you can tuck them what i mean you know they’re very small they’re lightweight couple ounces these they’re black. Diamond um a trailer door cork flick. Lock this is it fully uh. Fully erect if you will it’s got a nice. Like the cork handle this kind of kind. Of curved for extra torque ability extra horsepower which i really like straps. Are nice and comp the cork also rather than the foam um you know we’re just put. In like 70 miles on these puppies and the grip is starting to kind of mold a. Little bit you know a little personal with me which i like. But the cork does um it like kind of. Chips and stuff rather than the phone. But it also has foam you know if you need to if you need to choke up a little bit you know if you need a little faster bat speed when going uphill you can choke up a little bit down here on all. It’s a good rod it comes with some nice snow baskets we’re gonna take them up a mountain which is coming soon but uh. Yeah i really think i don’t know i don’t. Think it’s the best rod necessarily yet i like it a lot but I’m gonna I’m gonna. Probably try out a few more so.
Black diamond women’s trail shock. Trekking poles are an excellent balance of price and performance you’ve got. Extended length grips shock absorption. Mechanisms and very durable construction that makes these poles suitable for. Year-round use women’s trail shock trekking poles have extended length foam. Grips really comfortable ergonomic. Handhold and the extended length design. Allows you to grab the pole at varying. Heights and in the process saves you. From having to make micro adjustments or. Frequently making micro adjustments on side hill traverses and instances where. You may want the pole slightly varying. Heights with some frequency integrated. Straps take a lot of this stress off of. Your wrists these are fully adjustable and there’s a really nice fuzzy interior. Here that feels very nice against your wrists at the top of the poles there is. A dimpled or ovoid portion of the pole. That fits perfectly in the palm of your. Hand which you’ll find from time to time. You grab the pole that way out on the trail and that design makes this much more comfortable certainly a standout. Feature on the women’s trail shock poles is the shock absorption mechanism itself black diamond has embedded that feature. In the grip you can see it here as i. Press on the grip you can see it actually give fear to drive the poles. Strongly into the ground that’ll really give again take that stress off of your. Wrist when you’re just placing the poles and not putting too much weight on it’s very passive and you barely notice it really interesting mechanism that. Does exactly what it’s designed to do. Women’s trail shock poles consist of three sections the lower two sections. Being adjustable there’s graduated markings on that. Middle shaft set that show you exactly where you’re at their’s a maximum length of 120 centimeters the flick lock mechanism. Couldn’t be much simpler to use close it. You got a nice secure lock open it up. And you can move that hole to wherever you need it before again locking it back. Down in place low-profile shrieking. Baskets are included with the poles and. Are ideal for everyday use there’s a threaded design beneath that low-profile basket that. Allows you to use broader diameter snow. Baskets or deep powder baskets for better winter performance those accessories are sold separately. You.
Whether you’re carrying a daypack or you’ve packed for a weekend in the backcountry, you can always use a little extra stability. Grab the Black Diamond Women’s Distance FLZ Trekking Poles, and take a little of the strain off of your legs as you hike. These lightweight poles deploy quickly for river crossings and dodgy ascents or descents, and fold into three sections for convenient storage on your pack. The foam grip is comfortable in your hand, and absorbs impact as the tip strikes the trail, while the strap wicks away moisture to reduce chafing on your wrist. Black Diamond equipped the poles with FlickLock adjustability, so you can quickly change the length as the terrain changes.
Let’s go ahead and talk about these Carbon FLZ Distance Pole from Black Diamond. They’re like trail series that are an aluminum pole which is a three-piece extendable pole where this is like their z Breakdown type.
Trekking poles are all basically the same if you really think about it but there are certain aspects to a trekking pole that make them more comfortable or super lightweight. In this case, this is a full carbon pole so what you’re looking at is basically the entire shaft of the pole is carbon fiber. This pole set comes in at just under a pound total which is crazy lightweight and that’s something that I really like about these poles. I’ve been using them for the past several months they’re just so light and so easy to use that they make traveling with them really easy. One of the things that I don’t necessarily like about this pole though is the fact that it is that like z shape breakdown. Essentially the pole breaks down in this. Since so it makes it a really small package to be able to put in your backpack and such but if I’m using this for a tarp type situation where I am setting up a shelter using trekking poles. Then I don’t have as much versatility in being able to drop one end of the tarp by lowering the length or shortening the length of the pole
This distance series from black diamond is meant more for that type of setting but such a lightweight pole that it’s nice to have on the trail for any type of activity that you’re doing now. This does have this classic Black Diamond flick lock system to it. So if I push that open, then I’m able to extend this to the different lengths that I have.
This pole happens to be the 105 to the 120 centimeters. They do have a shorter one than this and then also a longer one than this looking.
At the top of the pole, you’ve got a molded foam and I do really like that they put these cutouts into the foam.
It breathes really well on your hand so that you’ve got not sweaty hands every time that you are hiking.
These are the women’s black diamond distance flz poles, and they’ve been a favorite among trail runners and lightweight enthusiasts for years they. Travel easily with you because of the foldable design they’re aluminum so. They’ll last a long time and the rapid deployment system means setup is fast and folding them back down as a breeze. The z poles get their name because they. Fold down into a z pattern that’s perfect for storing on your pack if you encounter a steep incline or for packing. Down into your travel luggage they fold. Down smaller than traditional trekking. Poles and they save weight because less material is used in each chef section. Setting them up is easy because a black diamonds rapid deployment system the. Internal cord connects all sections. Together and once it’s tensioned the poles are stable just grab the grip and. The first shaft section and then pull. Then away from each other the pole snaps. Into place with the slide lock here you. Will see a locked and an unlocked icon. To fold them down just pull up on the. Slide lock with one hand and push the. First section back towards the grip this. Action loosens the internal cord so you. Can fold down all the sections you can. Set these up on the run because of the speed cone design which guides the. Sections into place at each joint the fl. In the name stands for flick lock this external lock allows you to adjust the. Poles for the perfect fit the grip is. Made of a va foam i like foam grips because they’re lightweight, and they. Wick in the summer the top is rounded so you can palm it going downhill and for. Steep ascents the grip is extended so. You can grasp a lower spot without having to stop and make a height adjustment the lightweight straps adjust to your hand with the hook and loop closure now. Down at the bottom black diamond gives you versatility with the interchangeable tips you get a carbide tip and a non scarring. Rubber on the rubber tech tips are. Installed onto the poles in manufacturing but for most dirt trails. And in snow or ice i would use the carbide tips for the best traction the. Small attached basket here gives flotation in mud and has a little cutout. To secure the poles when they’re folded down there’s a little knot above the. Basket where you can attach zee pole snow baskets for use in winter those are. Sold separately they’re versatile for. Trail running traveling and hiking their the women’s black diamond distance flz poles call us with your. Questions or visit our store at bat. Country edge com subscribe to stay tuned. These are the black diamond distance carbon flz trekking poles these poles. Are perfect for ultralight thru-hikers adventure racers or anyone looking for a simple streamlined and pack able trekking. Pole they’ll give you the best of both worlds by providing a collapsible. Compact construction while also being adjustable and not fixed in length let’s. Take a closer look the distance carbon. Flz poles are made up of completely. Carbon shaft sections which lets them. Come in at an incredibly low weight. Among the three options the heaviest comes in just around 13 ounces for the. Pair and has a collapsed length of less. Then 16 inches he’s almost redefined light and fast in. Terms of trekking poles black diamond has beefed up these poles in some sections to address possible durability concerns each joint support has added. Reinforcement which gives it improved stiffness and overall durability they’ve. Also built up the locking mechanism. Section to offer increased durability i also really like how the black diamond. Pulls a deploy the z poles have this. Rapid deployment system based off of their tried-and-true avalanche probes which is super convenient for those of us who don’t really stop once we hit the. Trail these poles have a Kevlar concealed inner cord which connects to these speed cones basically you can just grab the top shaft section and pull it. Away from the handle and the poles will automatically align and marry up once you hear the click from the push button under the handle you know they’re good to go once the main shaft sections are. Aligned you’ve got a simple flick lock mechanism which gives you a comfortable adjustment range this is great for those. Folks who prefer a length that comes between a fixed length option you still. Get the lightweight but can tailor the poles for your preferences rather than. Being stuck at the bottom you’ve got a neat little tip design the poles come standard with a non scarring rubber tech. Tip but they also include a separate. Carbide tip which I’ve installed here the tip can easily be threaded on there for harder bite on trail surfaces along with. That you get a small performance basket with a little cutout that cutout is designed so that the poles can stay clipped together when they are collapsed. It’s great for keeping things from bouncing around awkwardly when the poles are strapped to your running pack or being stored away last but not least the. Grip at the top is made with evie a foam. And has some nice comfort features it has a mini extension so you can change and adjust your grip depending on the terrain you’re facing there’s a super light strap to take off some of that wrist stress and that strap can be. Adjusted with this velcro depending on your size or fit preference the evie a handle also has some cutaways which shed. Weight adds some texture and ergonomics to the overall structure this also beefs. Up the moisture management properties of. That soft foam grip overall the black. Diamond distance carbon flz is a pretty. Advanced system if you’re looking to do a big through hike or have some aspirations of adventure racing or ultra running these are definitely worth checking out thanks for watching if you. Just don’t grab on Tennessee not to want. To just fold it these are the black. Diamond ultra distance hiking poles. What’s left of one of them and that’s it. And the other one and i just managed to break this one hiking yesterday and i never imagined that I’d be able to do it this is the. Break that happened while i was hiking well first of all let me show you how they work, so they’re really a nifty little design little silver button you push here and that pulls collapse partway up into the. Handle and then you can open these two gaps, and they turn into one third there. Length and they’re extremely light because they’re carbon fiber to do, and so they’re really easy to use and the. Only thing you can’t do with these and with a metal poles you can adjust the lengths but after a while you get used to that and then lightweight makes it super easy to move them around quick and very low fatiguing nice comfortable grip. Handles i would love these poles use them for four five years ago yesterday for five years long time. Right here breeze that’s why it broke. Right there and that’s because there’s a hole for the button otherwise it’s a continuous tube so when you put enough stress on it won’t bend just snap and. Then it’s dead so i broke it here just. In order to be able to fold it up and put it on my backpack and carry it out but it’s just a word to the wise that. These carbon-fiber poles as great as they are they have limitations and i. Guess maybe I’ll go back to metal because if you fall down and this happens this pole is completely worthless and you will hike out without. It but don’t use it they’re super light right, but they’re super light yeah it’s a trade-off between what you want you know how much strength you need and whether how important it is that it never break versus the ease of use of. What’s the brand of this again black dynamic diamond okay reputable mate did. They have a model number on that particular one and it’s just called the ultra distance so to distance Agricola ultra distance equal pull this happens to be a 130 centimeter length difference. So it’s all right with your fiber. Hiking poles your hand is safe but the pole is broken i gotta get some new. Poles cool see out there. So it looks like okay. Alright guys so that was the black diamonds ultra distance poll and this. Thing is super lightweight and my dad mentioned it but this is crazy lightweight like you would even imagine how easy this thing is to move maneuver around he was just saying how when you’re hiking you can just go really quick with it and hold yourself up super. Easy so this is a great hiking pole just be careful when you’re falling and hey. You always know i always take the necessary precautions if you feel like you’re gonna fall and hurt yourself put the pool in the way and break the pole but you know these things are not. Indestructible but they are amazing, or they’re made for and that is for super lightweight hiking assistance so click. The link in the description I’ll give you guys a link to go buy the pole and if you use that link go support my channel I’ll bring you cooler videos and hit me up maybe we’ll go hiking some see you guys. You.
Designed with the ounce counting backpacker and trail runner in mind the. Black diamond distance flz poles are the. Perfect option when you want to move fast and light in the back country take a. Look at all the features that makes this pole so special the first thing that. Stands out to me without these poles is. The compact size so these are a. Collapsible pole meaning that the. Sections here don’t telescope down into one another they collapse down into that. Z pattern that gives them their name the. Fl in the naming stands for the flick. Locks so these are an adjustable pole. You’ve got black diamond flick locks here that are going to allow you to adjust the pole depending on what size. You have and we’ll talk about that later. But the first thing to do to set up the. Poles you’ve got a couple of different. Sections here in the pole you have your three shaft sections that have a central. Cord that run through those shaft sections these remind me of tent poles. In the way that they go into one another. So the first thing to do is just set those sections up you’ve got two. Sections at the top of this pole one of. Them is the piece that tensions the cord. On the inside so what you want to do is. Find the section underneath of this. Little grey part of the bottom of the. Top section of the pole and you want to pull those sections apart once you pull. Then apart far enough you’ll see a. Little blue line and a button that’s going to expose itself you’ll hear a. Positive click and then it’ll be set up. And that means that the cord on the inside is tensioned all the way and you. Have a very secure pole so i opened that. Up and you can see the button there. Exposed itself and from here you can. Adjust the pole so this top section of the poll is separate from. There you can adjust it up and down i have 125 centimeter poles in my hand. Here and they’re going to adjust from 105 centimeters all the way up to 125 so. This is a great option for someone who. Either doesn’t want fixed-length pose or. Knows that they’re going to adjust their poles in different ways this is perfect. For if you’re hiking on uneven terrain and you want to make quick adjustments or if your someone that is in between sizes on the fixed length poles and you. Really need to dial in that fit the. Black diamond flick locks couldn’t be any easier to use you just flick it open. With your thumb adjust it easily up and. Down and then flick it closed it doesn’t. Take a lot of force to open and close this lock but once the lever is closed. It is an extremely secure and tight seal. And you’re not gonna have to worry about your pole going anywhere so really great. Locks there, and they’re pretty lightweight as well so that keep the weight down for this ultra light pole. Moving up to the grips you have black. Diamonds foam grips these are non-slip grips so you have some texturing here in the top the thing. I really like about foam grips is in. Warmer weather if your hands are perspiring the foam works away sweat. Really well you can also use them in colder temperatures you don’t feel cold through the foam grips, and they as well. Work really well with gloves there’s. Some shaping to it and you even have a little extension below that grip so if you need to grab the pole at a lower. Spot you can and there’s a flat top to. This grip as well so you can palm the top of the pole if you need to but really easy to adjust and comfortable strap at the top is going to help take. That strain off of your wrists as you’re hiking these are aluminum poles so. You’ve got the durable of aluminum, but they’re also very lightweight so the different sizes of. This pole will weigh in at different weights, but they’re ultra lightweight. For having the feature of that locking mechanism moving down to the tip you. Have black diamonds tech tips so these. Are a little bit smaller diameter of a basket on this tip and it’s a really. Great feature that black diamond. Includes two sets of tips they include the carbide tips which give you really. Good traction on dirt and on trails on. Ice as well and they also include a. Replaceable rubber tip which is what i have on here now the rubber tip is great. On improved surfaces or harder surfaces. Where you don’t want the carbide tip to slip around and those tips are included. In a velcro strap the velcro strap that. Comes with the packaging has a small pocket in it and the extra set of tips. Are in that pocket when you want to break down the poles for that small pack. Size what i normally do is pull the two. Sections at the top apart a little bit just so i can get a thumb on that button and i can press that down then you undo. The other sections of the pole you can undo the lock as well. Make sure that’s compressed down all the way and you have your small pack size so. These are great for trail runners they’re lightweight enough that if. You’re running along and you need to throw them in your pack or something like that you can either run with them. Or put them in a pack for ounce counting. Backpackers these are great as well and with that feature of being able to adjust the pole these are a great option. For anyone who wants more stability in. The outdoors there the black diamond distance flz poles. You.
All right welcome to the first official gear review on the new channel and to. Kick it off we’re going to start with the black diamond women’s distance flz. Trekking pole so these z shaped. Collapsible trekking poles come in two sizes 95 to 110 which weigh 15 and a. Half ounces and 105 to 125 which are a. Little over a pound they also come with. Extra tips so you get the plastic tips. On them when they arrive and then a carbide tip which is in the packaging you’ll find a velcro strap around the poles when they arrive at your door so another really great feature with these poles is the grips and the wrist straps. The grips are moisture wicking and really comfortable and soft in the hand but firm enough for when you’re walking they won’t collapse on you and the wrist straps indicate right and left and have the velcro on them to tighten and loosen, so they can fit your wrist properly it’s. A feature that i have mixed reviews on until i try them out to be honest because i don’t often use the straps when i ski i go strapless and so. We’ll see how they are with hiking and. So to get these on the trail we’re going to go up to big meadows reservoir which is just below wolf creek pass, and we’ll. See how these things perform all right. So we’re on our hike on the lake big. Meadows reservoir just down the pass from wolf creek and decided to rain on. Is today but it’s still a gorgeous day a little bit of sleet a little bit of hail maybe some snow, but we have the pups. With us and our little dude. So the nice part about having these. Trekking poles they’re super lightweight which is a huge plus but the stability you get when you’re climbing uphill is huge and. Really good with it, so they’re firm their goods are in the ground and you have a nice little walk up with them it’s really nice so what i like most. About these poles is the compacted other. So the flip lock is really simple you. Flip it open you lock it tight and then there’s a button that you just press in and the poles collapse to about that big and then you simply detach and. What’s really cool is the basket simply. Clicks into itself these are nice and compact i can put them right in my pack. In the water bottle holder cuz on my pack that I’m using today there’s two bottle holders only one of them has my bottle but super compact and both fit in the holders which is really nice. You. In addition to the black diamond women’s trekking poles that I’m trying out today I’m also trying their dun wall hoodie I’m. Wearing a size medium and as you can tell it’s a fun purple color with two-tone maybe coral some of the fun. Features on this hoodie it’s it is a hoodie it has a nice comfortable hood that you can throw up if it gets windy or if you get a little chilly it’s been about 55 degrees today and so it’s a. Perfect layer for me top layer to be honest because if the wind is blowing a little bit suns going in and out and there was some rain it’s quick dry it’s 90% polyester so it dried relatively. Quickly even when the rain and sleet came through earlier this is the size. Medium it fits let’s see I’m like five 437. Pounds give or take and it fits me really well it’s really comfortable but. Substantial enough to keep me nice and warm when it you know the wind is blowing and the temperatures drop a little bit. So we just got back from our hike and i. Have to say both the black diamond trekking poles and don wall hoodie. Performed phenomenally well i was super. Comfortable in that hoodie it was quick drying as you saw in the video i went from rain and some sleet straight to. Sunshine and it wasn’t too warm it wasn’t too cold it was the perfect layer. For me to wear today and so yeah five. Stars all around for the hoodie and for the trekking poles they also performed. Great we had some downed trees some debris on the trail some good uphills and downhills and, and they worked really well again especially when having. The little guy on me some extra stability is always a plus and i did end. Up using the wrist straps and i really liked them they were adjustable and so i adjusted them to fit my wrist properly and it went really well i think I’m. Looking forward to trying out some blacker diamond gear in the future but if you like this stuff there’re some links below so you can check them out for yourself and then I’ll have some other reviews coming up some more trekking poles some really fun stuff coming up so subscribe below and thanks for checking out my first video there are some comments down there let me know what you think i tried to get in the field show you guys some in action shots. There’s some hard cuts i apologize for. That there was some barking dogs in the mix but give me your opinion let me know what you think if there are any products you want to hear more about put that down there too so thanks for stopping by and looking forward to y’all visiting again thanks.

With the Black Diamond Trail Trekking Poles gripped firmly in hand, you can hit any trail or skin track without hearing about it later from your knees. The newly updated foam grip adds a bit of insulation to keep your hand warm on chilly days, with an elongated design that comes in handy on steep terrain. FlickLocks lets you adjust your poles with ease for fuss-free transport, and you can switch out the tips and baskets, depending on the terrain you’re trekking or the sport you’re tackling.
The Black Diamond Trail Pro Shock Trekking Poles are lightweight and shock-absorbing, the perfect companion for long, rocky trails. Control Shock Technology absorbs impacts on the ground so your final mile feels as good as the first, and its controlled rebound prevents the pole from bouncing back too much, as some poles are prone to do. The foam grip provides a bit of insulation to keep your hand warm during chilly hikes, and the padded webbing strap makes each pole specific to your left and right hands for easy access and extra comfort. The aluminum shaft is both durable and lightweight, and FlickLock Pro lets you collapse and deploy the length with ease for fuss-free transport through the trail’s ups and downs.
Utilizing Black Diamonds high-quality Flick Lock pro locking mechanisms and durable aluminum construction the black diamond women’s trail pro trekking poles are perfect for hikers and backpackers who are looking for high quality for season performance in the back country.

You don’t have to apply a lot of force to open them or to close them so very good construction there.
There are the shaft sections are aluminum so a lot of durability.
They’re also very lightweight. Going up to the grips you have dual density foam. Here in the grips and the thing I love about foam is that you have reliable performance in four seasons. In the winter if you’re using gloves it works really well with the foam grips.
They’re not going to slide around in the summer in hotter temperatures. If your hands are sweating perspiring foam really wicks away sweat, unlike rubber grips. They’re not going to be slippery when they’re wet on the top. Here you have a flat top so if you need to you can palm the top of this pole if you’re descending or if you like to use the pole in that way.

I do a quick a peer review on the black. Diamond drill Jacques checking gold super awesome hold my very favorite part. Is the double-click lock system just. Here in here so you just adjust the poll everyone if you click it closes it’s really easy and it doesn’t get the stuff which is my favorite part and then my. Second favorite part about this poll is the shocks of soup which is right here. It doesn’t have spring so it doesn’t get that’s pretty loud noise basin time co2. Spring-loaded trekking poles it’s really. Subtle and this part is right here under the handle and it just absorbs kind of. See it may be very subtle so that’s. Pretty cool and then it’s really. Comfortable trekking pole it’s got the padded webbing here an extra foam extension so if you’re going to pill you. Don’t have to adjust anything there’s a. Low profile basket down here although. You can switch it out for winter and get the bigger powder baskets it weighs a. Pound and four ounces, so they’re not quite the lightest fall on the market but for the flick left system i think they’re definitely worth it they come in. A compact version if you’re i. Think I’m 57 and i think what I’ve heard is that they would work for my size or maybe four shorter and those are just a few ounces lighter so you might want to check those out you know trekking poles i don’t have. Much else say about them they’re really nice they’ve held up well they’re really. Happy with them check them out the black. Diamonds real shock trekking poles and don’t forget to get your gear and get outside.
Hey johnny mostly here for peter glenn ski and sports this in my hands my. Friend is not a ski pole this is the black diamond trail pro trekking pole. All right now in the winter i use a lot. Of black diamond poles, and they do a really good job of creating really easy. To use class and this is called there. Flick lock check it out booms it’s really. Easy to use but it’s very effective a lot of these mechanisms will slip and. Slide this one’s very easy to tighten as. Well just put a little screwdriver in there and close the clamp if you need to get the certain lock but it’s already adjusted perfectly it comes in three sections has a nice numerous numbering. System so you know exactly how far how. Large you’re making it on both poles but it also does give you the flexibility to really micro adjust don’t lank great. Grip here and what i really like here for trekking and walking is that it. Has a little internal nice padded. Material where it hits your hand okay cuz you’re not really always wearing a glove when you’re using this trekking poles so it’s not gonna check your hand after a long day or a long few days or after a week of trek pretty easy to. Adjust this little strap to just has a little cleat that’s really all there is to it has a little foam right on the lower part of the pole so when you’re you know on an angle side hill you can just grab. Black diamond trail pro trekking poles. Are an excellent balance of price and. Performance you’re getting a high-end. Feature set for year-round use at a. Really affordable price let’s take a. Closer look at the features of the black. Diamond trail pro trekking pole the. Trail pro poles are three section poles. So you’ve got two points of adjust ability it enables these. Telescoping poles to collapse down to just 25 inches but gives them a nice. Adjustability range in fact all the way. Up to 55 inches you’ve got markings on. The shaft sections to let you know. Exactly what lengths you’ve extended them to and you’ve got easy to use and. Nicely constructed flick lock pro. Locking mechanisms so it is an external. Locking mechanism you don’t need to worry over whether it’s tight enough or loose enough open it moves it to where. You want it to be and lock it down the. Metal construction in play here on the flick lock pro mechanism increases. Strength and also increases their durability and the longevity you’ve got extended length evie a foam. Grips on the trail pro trekking pole so. A really nice comfortable handle next to. Skin that foam feels just really nice really comfortable you’ve got adjustable straps for your. Wrists the fabric on the inside of those. Straps wicks moisture which as well. Enhances comfort gives you a little bit of padding as well the extended length. To those grips comes in handy if you’re. Using these in winter you’ve got gloved hands and it can just be you know a. Little troublesome to hold the poles while you’re making adjustments you’ve got that much more range in which to grab the poles that length of grip range. Also comes in handy your side hilling or your traversing back and forth across a slope if you. Didn’t have that extension you only have those top grips you might find yourself making micro adjustments to the length of the poles every time you turn on a switchback shouldn’t be a little inconvenient can slow you down but you. Can set the trail pro poles to a height at which you can change where you’re grabbing them as you’ve cut back and forth across that hill really convenient. Smart simple feature that certainly adds value to the poles on the other end of. The poles is where you will find black diamonds flex tech tips. That’s this entire piece here at the bottom of the lowest shaft section it’s. Worth mentioning that the design there is such that this whole piece is replaceable it’s designed that way. Because it’s also constructed in such a. Fashion that if you would find yourself with the poles in the kind of situation. That could break the poles by that i mean actually breaking or snapping the. Aluminum shaft sections instead of that. Occurring this piece can break away and while that might not sound ideal it’s a. Lot better than having actually broken shaft sections especially in the. Backcountry so that is a replaceable part on the. Very end of that tip is where you’ll find the carbide portion which is really. What’s coming into contact with the ground on dirt on trail those kind of. Surfaces this is ideal this can be screwed off entirely and. Replaced with a semi-permanent rubber. Tip it’s sold separately but. Available for purchase and replacement for that tip gives the poles versatility. And basically puts those poles in a much better position to perform on improved. Surfaces if you were using these as it all on roads or even indoors some people are taking these on museum wars and things like that or on rock. That rubber tip can actually give a. Little bit better performance on a smooth rock than the carbide tip might so again black diamond build some of. That versatility in while we’re talking about that here on the tips you’ll see some threading on the tip itself and. Just above it you’ll see this low-profile trekking basket and most. Surfaces where you’re probably not sinking very deeply into the ground anyway this basket is enough to stop the. Poles from going any further than you want them to if these poles were to go too far into the ground they’re actually not giving. You that smooth supportive action that you’re expecting of the poles the reason you’re using them in the first place black diamond throws in with each pair. Of trail pro trekking poles these. Broader profile powder baskets if you think about using these in snow is. Gonna give way in a fashion that dirt or packed trails will not and in that case. You’re gonna love the fact that these slow the progress of the poles into the ground you get that tip far enough in to give you the purchase you want and you keep moving forward so again great value built into these poles by having black. Diamond in Cleveland black diamond trail. Pro trekking poles with that durable. Aluminum construction those easy to use. Extremely durable flick lock pro external locking mechanisms the powder. Baskets thrown in you’ve got an excellent amount of value and year-round. Performance in this single set of bolts.
When carbon is queen, the Alpine Carbon Cork Trekking Pole is your right (and left) hand man. In addition to the featherlite strength of carbon fiber, Black Diamond added a cork handle to absorb the impact of the tip against the trail, and a rubber extension below it so you can quickly shorten the amount of pole in use for sudden shifts in grade. Dual FlickLock Pro locks secure the pole in just the right length for you, and the poles collapse for easy packing when you want your hands free to scramble. Carbide and rubber interchangeable tips, as well as two types of baskets, allow these poles to take you across all sorts of terrain and weather conditions, with nothing but a simple switch before you leave home.
These are the Black Diamond Alpine Carbon Cork Trekking Poles.
The aluminum construction gives incredible durability for the weight. The simple locks make height adjustments.

With the flick lock pro mechanisms, they enable you to make height adjustments easily with them. Open with your thumb adjust to the right height and flick closed. The lower section locks into place at a fixed point with Black Diamonds smash lock. This eliminates the need to adjust the top and the bottom sections to the same height. Just pull down until it locks itself into place. In order to collapse it back down, you simply release the upper flick lock and then smash the upper section down into the lower one.
It releases the lock as you press down and then you’re all packed up.
Black Diamond places their shock absorber towards the top of their poles. This is called control shock technology and it dampens the vibration that travels through the poles as you hike on hard surfaces.
It can go a long way to preventing irritation on your wrists elbows and shoulders throughout a long day.
The foam grip offers an extension so you can grasp it when you reach an uphill section of the trail. The top of the grip is flat so you can palm it going downhill. The adjustable straps. They’re shaped just right with a high surface area to cradle your hands and wrists.

Hi I’m Jordan these are the alpine and carbon core trekking poles by black diamond i found it for about two and a half years and i have really put these things through the wringer they’re. Awesome I’ve seen a couple of videos where people have mentioned them breaking a little bit down low I’ve really torqued. These things, and they have not broken yet so i think it just kind of depends on the angle and kind of how cautious you are with them but to tell you a. Little bit about it I’m gonna start from the top and go work my way down up here. It’s got a nice little rubberized grip it’s kind of textured like a golf ball I’m not sure if the new ones have it but this old one still has it and it’s really nice it feels good on your thumb. Or if you hold your poles like this sometimes it fits nicely in the palm of. Your hand these guys are removable these. Little straps they’re pretty nice you. Can adjust them i don’t really use them too much but sometimes they’re nice to have something there just in case you got something really steep and sketchy and you’re worried about dropping your poles and a big part about this is this. Cork right here it’s kind of where the. Name comes from carbon fiber cork i like. It real original but the cork is really. Solid over time it really just feels. Like it kind of I’m not it doesn’t shape to your hand but it grows more comfortable the more you use it and the. More you know your sounds are gross but your oils and everything sweat and it just feels really good in the palm of your hand when you’re hiking really grippy you’re not gonna let go of it unless you open up your hand the new. Ones have a little bit of a different shape of the cork compared to this old ones I’ve had these for like two and a half years, and they’ve changed a little bit over time they don’t have this little grip rest on the new one which i love it’s great to put your index finger on their just feel solid in your hand. And but they do still have this little section right here i believe to rest the. Rest of your hand really good really an. Ergonomic and they feel great one thing you want to be careful of with cork anytime you’re buying it is leaving. It around for animals puppies and marmots love to chew the hell out of these things this my right one has been just. Destroyed by a marmot from a year or two. Ago and i was camping i can’t remember. I like left it somewhere and the little guy started nibbling on it and that is. Uh you definitely feel that so you have to be kind of careful with court didn’t. Get to the foam though so a little bit below the cork is this foam area it’s got a couple little slots in there it’s kind of nice to grip on it i don’t ever use it I’ve seen a couple other reviews. Of people talking about this set of. Poles and they don’t really use it either i mean you can kind of choke up on it if you’re getting on some higher terrain you know you’ve got some rocks things like that you’re really working up but i don’t really use it that often. It’s just a little bit extra weight but. Who cares these are trekking poles it’s not that. Big of a deal to me so the construction of these poles is pretty solid they. Extend all the way to about 135 centimeters i believe and then that’s. Where they’re gonna break off to that. Stopping point yeah so you get about 100. 335 centimeters I’m about 510 and this. Is fully extended for me i usually rest. Mine at both of these points at 125 centimeters and that’s just fine it’s. Good that they have a little bit of this. Length when you extend them so that way if you’re pitching a mid shelter or you want your tarp to be a little bit higher you have that flexibility with these and i have to commend these flick locks pretty well they’re pretty solid they. Will open up a little bit if you hit them just right like that like on a branch but for the most part they’re. Gonna stay locked, and they’re gonna stay solid and i really do prefer these over black diamond z formation they have with. Like that little rubberized wire in between there i don’t like that i don’t think it’s very solid you can kind of go like this with it and i feel like it’s just gonna bend and break on me I’m. Not gonna have any problems with this my. Only negative kind of complaint about the flick locks. Are you can’t really close these all the. Way because they it would put too much. Pressure on the carbon fiber i think maybe I’m a limp or a coward i don’t know i just don’t want to put that much strain on such a small like narrow. Diameter area of carbon fiber but that. Constructions really good you know you can really just tank these things in this stuff, and they’re not gonna go anywhere they’re fantastic. Going down here you can use these as ski. Poles i haven’t skied with them I’m not much of a skier but i did a friend that uses it, and he likes them he you can put. Different baskets on there it’s very customizable to your preferences i can’t. Really elaborate too much on it just because i don’t ski much but I’m a buddy. Who really does like black diamond poles, and he does have a pair of these that he does take scheme he likes them this. Little bit right here it warps over time. I have beaten the crap out of it and so. That’s why it’s kind of torn up a little bit but it still spends a little bit and. It really has held on impressively you. Can take it honors put it off its kind of up to your preference but i just kind of keep them on there just so I’ve got something there and then working our way down to the very end of the shaft is where you have the big old buddy the carbon corks carbide tip so carbide is a. Way to go with these things this thing. Hasn’t lost any kind of formation at all no dings nothing it is just great and it. Grips into all sorts of surfaces it’ll. Grip in the wood it’s gonna leave a mark and it really grips in the granite well. Here in colorado we’ve got tons of granite and you can just dig this guy. Into some of those little rock faces and it’s gonna stick and it’s solid and i. Love that you know if i feel like I’m. Losing my balance i hit something I’m good i know it’s gonna catch me and it’s gonna stick and it really doesn’t tear. Up the rock at all either unless using it on something porous like sandstone which you probably should know going in that. It’s gonna tear it up yeah overall these. Are really good they’re definitely by no means the lightest out there they’re kind of heavy they’re almost a pound for the pair, but they are so solid and i. Really depend on it as a shelter piece if you’re using mids i have an ultimate i use this with and same with my tarp i. Rely on this you know you can dig it into the ground i use this as my platform and this guy’s not going anywhere or if i want to do it the other way and i want to have a really solid top to my shelter i know i can dig. This guy down at the very bottom put it on the ground maybe an inch or two and it’s not going to go anywhere wiggle and really high winds, and they’re really. Solid when you combine them together for. Those shelter setups but overall it’s a. Really great pole i do recommend it. Definitely check it out before you get it makes sure the script feels good to you if you don’t like the way it feels. There’s some really good leki poles out there that i recommend they might be just a little bit more comfortable for your hiking style but overall great. Poles for all sorts of uses from I’ve. Used this thing in the mountains here in colorado i took these on the kalalau trail out in Hawaii a couple months ago I’ve used these things everywhere, and they’re probably one of the best investments that I’ve made and you just. Can’t go wrong with them yeah so these are the black diamond alpine carbon cork. Trekking poles and hopefully this will. Help you in your decision-making and thank you for watching very much have a good day.
All right today we are going to be reviewing the black diamond alpine. Carbon cork trekking pole i got these a. Couple years ago and I’ve used them successfully for several seasons now. Actually i think I’ve had them for four. Or five seasons and I’ve done about a dozen different mountain hunts with them. There’s a lot of different tracking polls up there day everything under the sun you could think of for dream of but. I found that I’ve really come to like. These and I’ll go through a few of the features that i really like so the. One thing i really enjoy what these. Is the wrist drops they don’t come loose. We keep your hand in there they work really well I’ve never had an. Issue with them when they get wet they dry out a credibly fast cork handle. Incredibly comfortable we’ve got like a. Rubber is kind of deal down here if you want to hold it more let go yeah just. Kind of more like a stick i guess versus having this contoured cork handle but. The one thing i do really like with this cork handle as well when it’s in. Extremely cold out and below zero when. You’re holding this with a thinner glove your hand doesn’t get cold some of the cheaper trekking poles will have like a. Plastic tape grip and that plastic will be ice-cold when you grab onto it shows your hand but these are pretty good they don’t freeze your hand on you. The other thing that’s really great with. This black diamond the pole in. Particular are the walking hubs here no. This might not seem like a big deal to. Have a clamp like that but compared to a. Twist lock the twist lock those tend not. To lasas along and also the twist lock. When you put a ton of pressure on them. Sometimes they’ll fail and slide out. Essentially wrecked and I’ve had a lot. Of twist locks fail they’re usually cheaper than the cloud style. Like here but on these if there’s ever. An issue all you do is you tighten the. Clamp here and push it back and it’s. Basically you’re good to go on your fixed where’s the twist lock style if. That mechanism ever goes or breaks on. Your fails it’s the air hole holes basically wrecked no the one thing that. The best spool specifically there’s two. Clamps two sizes what i do on. This guy it actually has that numbering. On it so it says how long your pole is so i kind of know what I’d like to have my poles preset up and i just you just adjust it to the measurement on there on. This guy you set them both to a 105. Centimeters to that you clamp it and. It’s the same length every time both poles are the same you don’t have to pull them up and measure them side by side it’s quick it’s easy. And this is carbon fiber and it is. Incredibly light compared to a lot of the trekking poles one guy i had in. Alaska actually commented on how shocked. He was at how well these poles held up because a lot of his clients would come up with cheaper poles, and they’d have. Their pole break during the trip or fail. At the clamps whether it’s the twist lock er this style I’m not sure, but he. Was incredibly impressed how well he’s held up because those guys typically use an ice axe as a walking stick out there. So kind of made me feel good that he. Thought they’re good as well the other thing i really like to have one my trekking poles as these rubber tips you. Don’t have to buy the black diamond version you can after market one but basically when. You’re walking through the hiking through the mountains when you’re up above treeline these poles have like a little metal tip on them and it’s. Constantly going tick tick tick of the rocks so you want to have these keeps you a lot quieter plus your poles don’t sink in to the mud. Sometimes when you’re hiking if it’s. Soft or when it’s oil and you don’t have. These tips on that narrow point drives pretty that drives the pole pretty deep into the ground and it can just be like a drag to keep pulling it out steadies. Even on the main trails i actually prefer these rubber tips all the time. I never take them off it’s found one. Think i found made it walking way easier if you were going across the glacier ice. Like they have up in alaska in some. Places sheep on team you might want to. Take them off just you can dig into the ice but generally speaking if you’re just if it’s dry out dirt there’s not a. Lot of ice that you’re crossing these rubber tips, so they’ll definitely the way to go but overall i give this wrap. Nepal a 5 out of 5. Spent grave never had a minute’s issue with them and if you don’t have a. Setting treky set of trekking poles you. Definitely need to get us that if your backpack hunting it’ll make your life was easier the balance of your load. Helps balance your load when you’re walking especially if it’s on a incline or dropping down hills or silently just. Makes it so much easier and whatever you. Do just buy a good quality brad don’t buy a cheap brown just because of the. Price spends the money get a good pair and go from there.

We’re taking a closer look at the LEKI Micro Vario Cor-Tec TA lady trekking poles. These are the great option for those who are looking for a collapsible and lightweight pole. It also has a lot of features and is great for travel, hiking, backpacking and anything else. The thing I want to talk about first with these poles is just the collapse ability. This isn’t your traditional telescoping pole where all the segments kind of go inside of each other and telescope down.
This is truly a collapsible pole. As you can see there is a central cord that runs through each of the sections here and it’s very durable.
length collapses down really small. It`s easy to throw in your pack, in your luggage if you’re traveling. If you’re not using the poles during a particular part of your hike you can either lash them to the outside or just throw them right inside the pack.
It’s pretty simple once you get the hang of it. You have that central cord that runs through the sections and the first thing I do is I attach the sections. It almost reminds me of the way a tent pole is structured. Each of the segments lock inside of each other and the second thing you want to do is find the two separate sections here up towards the top of the pole. You want to separate them and once you have pulled them far enough you will hear a positive click and a little button will make itself known they’re. The first couple times you do it might feel like you have to pull on that a little bit harder than you would like but that’s just to get a very secure hold. Once I do that I pull it and you have a positive click. Now all of the pole sections are securely connected to one another.
This is an adjustable pole so unlike some other collapsible lightweight poles like. This it’s not fixed length. You can definitely adjust from 100 centimeters all the way up to 120 so you do have a lot of versatility with this pole. You don’t have to worry about not getting the correct fit for your height to adjust the pole. Right now I have it set at its lowest usable length which is 100 centimeters but it’s really easy to adjust with leaky speed lock.
In order to adjust it all you have to do is open the lock. Adjust it to your preferred height. I’m gonna adjust it. All the way up to 120 centimeters and when you do that it just it stops here at the top so you know you’re at its highest point and then close the lock with your thumb. Tit’s as easy as that there’s no twisting, no turning. It’s just open and closed. LEKI uses their argon grips for this pole which is a really high-quality argon comfortable handle. They definitely don’t skimp there. So really great handle on there and you’ve got an extended grip here.
If you want to grip the pole at a different height while you’re hiking you don’t have to make those minor adjustments. You don’t have to make the adjustments as often. If you want to have your hand on top of the pole you want to palm the pole. It really fits nicely into the palm of your hand and has some dimpling there and some resistance. So it’s really easy to grip the top. You also have a really soft nice woven strap here and it’s really easy to adjust for your height. Take the pressure off of your wrists with a strap so to adjust this. All you do is pull up on the top portion of the strap. You can make it longer or shorter and then just pull down on the top and it locks in.
It’s a really comfortable lightweight women`s trekking pole.

You.
A map, a weather forecast, and a trail guide can only tell you so much—you never really know what’s waiting for you on a backpacking trip, but you can stay prepared for it all with the Leki Micro Vario Cor-Tec TA Trekking Poles. These poles have the light weight, easy packability, and versatile trail performance you need for whatever lies ahead. Thanks to their Micro Vario folding system they can pack down to just 15 inches, making them easy to lash onto your pack when you need your hands free on rocky scrambles. And they’re not just foldable, they’ve got 8 inches of adjustable range to keep you prepared for changing terrain, as well as an extended non-slip grip that lets you choke up when you come across steep and rocky trails. The soft and ergonomic cork grip delivers a comfortable and supportive hand feel, while a carbide metal tip ensures a steady hold on varying trail surfaces in any conditions.
These are the lakey women’s micro vario core tech ta trekking poles they fold. Down for easy travel and are versatile. For hiking backpacking and trail running if you’ve used hiking poles in the past. But thought they were cumbersome or if. You’re ready to upgrade to high end lighter weight poles these could be the perfect option for you let’s check them. Our first i want to show how easy they. Are to set up your goal here is to put. The segments together and tighten the central cord so all sections are firmly. Connected it’s important to notice two. Mechanisms this is like ease speed lock lever and it makes height adjustments to. The poles and this is the lake ya’s pld. Push button locking device that holds. The sections together once they’re set up you won’t see this button until all. Sections are locked into place okay from. A folded position hold the grip and let. The other pieces hang be sure the speed. Lock is closed and find the pole section. That is concealed in the upper segment pull down on that section to reveal it. You can put the two lower sections. Together one by one or you can set them. Up all in one motion because they will slide together as you pull down on that concealed section you will know the. Central cord is fully tensioned when you hear the distinctive click and see the. Silver button the first few times you. Try it you may need to tug a little harder than you think you should the whole process looks like this. Now you’re ready to make the height. Adjustments with the external lock just open the lever with your thumb adjust to. The preferred height and push it closed I’m five six and i use poles at about. 115 centimeters these are women’s. Specific poles so the adjustment range is perfect for me laiki made it super easy to fold back. Down this silver button loosens that. Central cord so you can fold them again i find it helpful to tug these two. Sections apart to make it easier to press the button to conceal that first shaft section back up into the grip now. That cord is loosened so you can fold. The two lower sections if the length is. Still set to what it was while you were hiking just lower it to the bottom and store them in the carry bag the shaft sections. Are made of aluminum for durability the. Kortek grip at the top is ergonomic and. Has a lot more shape than most of the. Lightweight folding trekking poles I’ve seen on the market these are called the aragon compact grips, and they’re sized. For smaller hands the egg-shaped top is. Perfect for palming when going downhill and the extended length means you do not. Have to make time-consuming adjustments to the height while going uphill the strap is adjustable and soft on your. Hands the small trekking basket is for. Summer use but can be replaced with a snow basket if the weather calls for it those are sold separately the tip is incredibly durable and gives reliable. Traction on any surface this portion of. The tip has a bit of flex that’s why. It’s called the carbide flex tip so if it gets jammed in between two rocks it will bend and flex first to save the. Upper shaft sections from breakage it’s a rare instance but the tip is fully. Replaceable so should you need a new one. The cost of a new tip is nominal compared to a new set of poles that. Makes these a perfect option for avid hikers backpackers and trail runners there the leakey women’s micro vario. Tech t a trekking poles call us with. Your questions or visit our store at. Perfect for counting ounces and saving space out on the trail, the Leki Micro Vario Carbon AS Trekking Poles offer ultra-lightweight, adjustable performance for mountaineers, trail-runners, and hikers. The lightweight Aergon Thermo grips have an ovoid shape that’s easily palmed or held traditionally, while the rubberized, dimpled tops offer textured grip points and easy-to-adjust straps to provide additional security. The Dynamic Suspension System (DSS) reduces stress on the joints, muscles, and ligaments, and even reduces the peak impact force to protect your muscles, joints and ligaments. The locking mechanism saves weight and increases collapsibility while still delivering strength and adjustability.
We’re taking a look at the LEKI Micro Vario Carbon AS Trekking Poles. These are extremely collapsible, ultra lightweight trekking poles. They are perfect for your owns counting backpackers travelers who are looking for trekking poles that really collapse down into luggage and people who are looking for a lightweight pair of trekking poles that don’t skimp on any features. These are fully featured poles. The first thing I want to point out here about these poles is they actually do have a shock absorber at the bottom so the DSS in the naming here. It stands for a dynamic suspension system lake ease. Put a lot of research and development into this feature and there’s an elastomer here at the bottom close to the point of impact of the ground.
It’s lightweight and it’s extremely durable so it’s not going to wear out over a long period of time and the basic function of this shock absorber is really to take out that vibration that you feel through the trekking pole when you’re hiking for long days long miles on the trail.
Sometimes that vibration that comes through the pole can irritate your wrists your elbows your shoulders and this just dampens that vibration.
The other standout feature of these poles is that they are extremely collapsible and the way leaky achieves this is by having a very durable cord that runs through all shaft sections of these poles and they go together almost like tent poles.
They remind me of the way tent poles are designed and then all you do in order to set them up is stretch that out and it tensions the cord that’s inside and makes this very durable.
There’s a push button here that comes out once you’ve got everything. Set up you can hear that positive click and then you’ve got an extremely durable pole here. Really great design now.
This is a carbon fiber so each of these shaft sections is extremely lightweight. Perfect for those ones can in backpackers and this does have an adjustable range.
These will adjust from a hundred and ten centimeters all the way up to a hundred and thirty centimeters. So fully-featured trekking pole here on those days where you may be climbing or descending and you really want to make quick adjustments.
You can also really just dial in the exact length of trekking poles that you need and this is lake ease speed lock. It’s an external lock it couldn’t be any easier to adjust basically you just flick it open with your thumb adjust it to the proper height and then flick it closed and you’ve got a really secure lock. While we’re up here on the grips you do have an ergonomic leaky air gan grip. There are thermo grips so you’ve got really comfortable foam here.
The thing I really like about foam grips is they work well in all temperatures and in all seasons. In the summer if your hands begin to perspire this really wicks away sweat and you can keep a secure grip there with your hands but also in the winter this material works well with gloves. You have an extended grip here so if you need to grip the pole at a different spot. That’s really easy and then you have this egg-shaped top that’s really great for palming the top of the pole, so a nice wide top there. And then obviously you’ve gotten adjustable straps. They’re really comfortable, they’re lightweight and you can adjust them to just take the strain off of your wrists.
These are the lakey women’s micro vario core tech ta trekking poles they fold. Down for easy travel and are versatile. For hiking backpacking and trail running if you’ve used hiking poles in the past. But thought they were cumbersome or if.
