Hey guys! Captain Ross Robertson here at ICAST 2013. I'll tell what you know, fish usacom has a lot of terminal tackle and a lot of guys overlook. That terminal tackle, it's really important. You know, as the old cliche goes, the weakest link in the chain that really is the case with a lot of junk terminal tackle. That's why I like the squirrel power swivels.
One of my go-to sizes is actually the number five. You can see it's pretty small, it's like 120 130 pound. Test the thing's not going to break. It's black nickel so these things don't corrode. You can literally leave these things in the bilge and you're good to go. But for a lot of guys, you know, this is a size 8 which is still 50 pound test. You can see just how tiny. This plays a crucial role for me.
What other, arm ice fishing, it makes a big difference. I can actually have a tiny link reel. It rights up onto my reel can go right onto the spool itself but then in the open water season to a lot of you salmon guys. Maybe it's led cor maybe it's copper line. Something like this is a really a strong connection it's not gonna break your. Something else break before. Ican wind that right in there without damaging my guys. I can actually put it rights on the reel so my connections basically the time can be a lot faster.
I love to worry about splicing things. I can just tie two knots especially guys. That aren't really not friendly. And make my connections a lot easier we're actually pre tie some of these rigs. That I'm ready to go so next time you're out don't get junky terminal tackle you'll get more fish in the boat.
