hello it’s ty from the outdoor here and. I am wearing the north face or odd hoodie now this is a thermal top that. Can be either worn as a mid layer or in. Its own right to give you some warmth on cold days it. Is not waterproof and it is not wind proof but it is warm the fabric of the. Hoodie is 95% polyester and 5% in. Lasting so that enables it to be very. Very stretchy as you can see and in the. Arms as well so is a an excellent hoodie. If you want that extra layer of warmth. And you are doing something really active like climbing scrambling or. Moving fast over technical ground it. Gives you that freedom of movement and as you can see that stretch ability and. Nabel’s you to move pretty well it is. What the north face described as a gridded fleece top and you can see on. The inside that gridded pattern. Which provides the warmth it captures your body heat and holds it to keep you. Warm so as well as being quite free and that. Elastic it gives you that warmth. Wherever you may be the boren hoody has a hood that’s why. It’s called a hoodie which does up quiet. Neatly to the chin the outside of around. The face is elastic but it’s not particularly tight so it doesn’t put in. Particularly well so there’s quite a bit of space still there and even but it can. Get a climbing helmet on top of climbing hem it will fit on top of this quite comfortably and quite easily the sleeves. Are elasticated as well and again there’s quite a bit. Looseness there it’s not the right word i mean if you wanted to put gloves on excellent if not well help keep your. Wrist bit cool or i guess if that’s what you want to do there is a chest pocket. Napoleon chest pocket which is not particularly large but you will get something like your phone or garmin in there and then there are two good hand. Pockets either side here which have got. Plenty of room in them and you can easily get a map or something like that inside the hem is elasticated slightly. Not major it’s slightly elastic 80 again. But it’s a good fit so it covers quite well it is very comfortable to wear and. Definitely has that sense of freedom it. It’s warm this is everything that you possibly would want a jacket i mean easing zipper you know i love this if i can actually tighten the hood down when I’m actually running on the link i just love this jacket and the pockets oh my god they’re so comfortable. Especially those real wall conditions got some hand warmers in there you almost keen to keep your hands in there whenever the road please study so get. Hey what’s up chris here with summer. Coming to clothes recently been in the market for a new lightweight jacket my current go to jacket that i absolutely love is the patagonia nano puff can’t. Say enough good things about this track you absolutely love it one of the main. Limitations though is that when it does get warmer you quickly get hot in this. Jacket so just like a breath ability really stands out when those temperatures do get a little bit warmer so one jacket i kept coming back to is the patagonia their nano air light. Hybrid hoody so wasn’t sure what to. Expect before i purchased this jacket because i just could never find it in a store to look at it I’ve actually looked. At the nano air jacket and really liked that jacket but it was so similar to the. Nano puff i just could not justify. Making that purchase because of the similarities between the two jackets so. Was really interested in looking at this jacket but another thing i can’t face. Him with this jacket was i just could not justify spending the money at the time so it found a really good price on. This jacket especially being the hoodie which i love having a hood on my jacket if at all possible but usually that’s gonna increase the price but failed it was necessary just to show this if you are in the market for number one a lot of weight jacket but this one in particular also if you are familiar with the nano. Air at all from patagonia this is gonna. Be very similar as far as some of the material but what’s unique about this jacket is the fact that it is so breathable so just looking at the jacket. Again the front here for the most part is gonna be insulated but turning this. Jacket around you’re gonna see very quickly that there’s gonna be some knitted top material on the back of the jacket under the arms of the jacket the. Armpits of the jacket and along the bottom of the sleeves here so a lot of those areas that you’re gonna sweat when you’re being active hiking going around. Town or wherever you might be so it’s. Gonna allow hopefully some of that warm. Air that you’re generating to come out of the jacket and keep you somewhat cool and whether that’s not. Totally cold so again what i was trying. To do is kind of find a good in-between. Between say an insulated jacket like the nano puff and that fleece jacket. That we’ve loved for so long the problem. I’ve always had with fleece is just that there’s so bulky and taking up a lot of space when you’re traveling again i like the fact that this is a really gonna be a jacket you can compress or compact. Down really small when you travel though this again in your pack or in a bag i like the fact it’s gonna be very breathable but also I’m hoping that this. Is gonna keep me warm when the weather does dip down or that temperature does dip down say in the evenings we’re at. Nighttime and you’re just out and about whether it’s again you know out in. Middle of nowhere or you know if you’re in the middle of a large city traveling and you just have this handy so it’s. Exactly what i was looking at but a couple things that did stand out that kind of surprised me when i pick this up and got it out of the box again it’s. Just it’s a really lightweight jacket i think it comes in around 10 ounces I’m. So very lightweight but one thing to. That kind of stands out and I’m really interested to see how this is gonna i guess perform when it gets cool is just how thin this back material is so again. I guess I’m kind of hesitant because I’m not sure how warm it’s gonna keep me but i know this isn’t a jacket for really cool weather and thankfully we live in the south so it’s not overall gonna be. Super cold even though we did have a really cold winter last year so. Hopefully i think this is gonna be a good early fall late spring top jacket. And get exactly what I’m looking for. Something when those temperatures do begin to drop that i have handy again if I’m out and about have it in a pack i can quickly grab this out or if I’m traveling again just to have this in my. Bag even if i don’t meet it again very. Lightweight and it’s not gonna take up a lot of space in your pack so again just wanted to show this and let you know again that this material is gonna feel very similar to that nano air top. Material real. Feels kind of stretchy i guess but again. What’s unique is just that the way that this feels and how thin i guess and maybe that’s not a good way to describe this that the material on the back and under the arms and armpits of the jacket is so again this is kind of first look at the jacket this is a large and i will. Throw this on real quick and i believe. This is gonna be more of an athletic fit. And to me it’s actually really comfortable so again I’m about five nine. And actually around 200 pounds and this. Jacket actually because it is a little stretchy fits me pretty well as i was concerned between this and say an extra-large i was afraid an extra-large might be way. Too big if it also comes with some i. Guess the thumb hole here that your. Thumb goes in again to help cover some of your hand and I’ve also read where a lot of people who run this is a good fit. For someone who’s a runner or if you’re. A climber and the weather’s not drip drop too low this is a jacket you could wear all day big and very. Comfortable i love the way this jacket feels and fits and again i love. The fact it has a hood. So yeah I’ve not had a chance to test this because it still is i think in the 90s outside currently so I’m really. Interested to test this over the winter and i will do an updated review on this i just wanted to do a first look at. Hey guys this is ari and today we’re. Gonna be talking about all-time hey guys. Is ari with ny gear review and today we’re gonna be talking about the patagonia nano-air hoody the jacket. Comes in at 385 grams or 13.6 ounces it. Is super lightweight the outside fabric. Is a 100% nylon ripstop it’s super. Stretchy it forms with your body i can’t. Speak highly enough about this outer and inner fabric the outer fabric i believe. Is a 2010 year and the inside is 50 so. It has a little bit more of that smooth touch this is a synthetic jacket so the. Difference between synthetic and down you know is that down loses a lot of its. Insulation properties when wet this is not going to affect this jacket though because it’s a synthetic so i am 6-3 185. Pounds and this is a size large it fits. Terrific you know patagonia sometimes has a little bit of a sizing issue just and then i find that some of their clothing can be a little bit baggy r in. The waist area the top has a zipper garage so it stopped any chafing against your neck you have to external hand warmer pockets and to external chest. Pockets i love them both some of the cons about this jacket and there aren’t many is the cuffs as you can see when i. Hang my hand at my side there’s a little. Bit of bunching of the fabric at the cuffs now there is an update to this. Jacket that’s being released right now i think it got released like last month by patagonia it’s an update to the outer fabric it has this fabric sometimes. Gets a little pilly again i could not care less this is a phenomenal external fabric and then on the new cuffs what they’ve done is added sort of. More fitted cuff without this elastic. And piece here so for the pricing on this jacket it comes in and a whopping. $299 so it’s a lot of money you know and. With new york sales tax you know it’s. More than that so it’s an expensive jacket for sure you can get this current. On the past seasons past season product. Because of the update with the new one you can get this current jacket for one. A Hundred and forty-nine hundred seventy-nine dollars on patagonia comm and you can probably get for even cheaper in some places like back country or musa in summary this jacket i would give it easily a ten out of ten I’ve had no issues with it i put it through the. Everybody shawnsmith and gimmick um I’m very excited to bring to you that patagonia nano-air light hoodie this guy. Right here this is new for 2016-2017. Season this is an improvement from what. I call improvement upon the nano air line it is 75% more breathable than nano. Hair series while being one-third less. Weight the insulation it uses is pedagogy’s proprietary full range insulation this has 40 grams as opposed to 60 grams other monomers what that means is this. Is great for high aerobic activities in cold weather mountain climbing rock. Climbing tour in the back country of trail running whatever you’re doing outside we’re gonna go loss sweat this will dump it faster than anything out there and for the insulation they’ll keep you warm in the meantime too so some great features on it there’s only one pocket it’s the napoleon pocket right here it’s actually very deep. Napoleon pocket very deep so you can. Store whatever you want in there and then it has these great elastic cuffs. That you know if you’re like me I’d quantities up a little bit they’ll stay in place no problem and then the hood is very nice scuba. Hood and then of course a nice tall color and as far as fit this is the. Athletic fit for them so this is extra. Large and I’m six foot one two hundred pounds and it fits me pretty well so keep that in mind when purchasing for yourself or for others msrp is 250 on. This jacket and very well worth it so. Touring in the per sells with the ansi family having a great time and i just wanted to tell you about this mid layer I’m wearing right now first of all just so you know what I’m wearing on the outside is the lithic comp jacket from our carrick’s to take a look at that go over here now. Underneath here I’m wearing the cerium lt jacket and if you’re curious to learn. More about down insulating down and. Synthetic insulating apparel you can go over here and check in that area so the. Cerium lt jacket is the lightest of all. Arc’teryx down products offered our. Tareq’s got into the down world about three or four years ago and this is one of their first offerings what’s unusual about it is that it incorporates you. Now the body mapping technology what have you but what it basically boils. Down to is that there’s core loft right here and here and on the shoulders so. Core loft is something that you can get wet and it still stays warm and core loft is something that we have it’s. Included in other jackets we have as well. Reviewed so basically this is a mid. Layer jacket but it’s still very. Warm I’d say it’s a mid layer jacket largely because of how it fits this is a. Large I’m six-foot to about a hundred. And seventy-five pounds but it’s fairly. Snug everywhere even under the arms so it works best underneath the jacket as a. Mid layer basically you have two hand. Warmer pockets here with zip ups a great. Hood with a simple drawstring on the. Back and no pockets on the inside if. I had my druthers i might like a pocket. Here but it just maybe perhaps wasn’t. Included because of the extra weight. So this is the arc’teryx cerium lt. Jacket and i put it in my i put in my. Pack — just as a backup layer or if it’s. Hey guys today i want to do a review of the down jacket i used on my appalachian shelter hike and i use the art eric cerium lt hoody really great backpacking. Down jacket i think this is its main purpose is for backpacking comes in at nine point seven ounces uses about three. A little over 3 ounces of 850 850 fill. Power down which is really nice high quality down and one thing i really like about this jacket and it kind of sets it apart from other jackets in this class is arc’teryx uses core loft 80 synthetic. Insulation in certain places that are kind of known to gather moisture. Normally so like right here this is the. Mouthpiece so you can see the square right here that’s core loft insulation so when you have it zipped up your breath just from. The moisture in your breath that can naturally get wet and Karloff does a much better job at staying warm when it’s wet than down, so they put core loft right there they also put it on the. Shoulders here which is really good because when you’re wearing a backpack strap that can stay warm right. There because it’s its keeping it tight against your body also and under arms. Here they use core laughs so this is. Triangle piece right here that’s coral oft insulation also notice that the underarm is gusseted which makes it really nice gives you better articulation and there’s more range of. Movement so you’re not getting bunched up and just makes it more comfortable to wear for a long period of time and the. Last place they put it is right here on the wrist of the jacket so you know all. This right here is core loft and then the rest of it is down super nice i think that’s a really good idea and it just makes the jacket kind of you know. The next level kind of jacket that and. Kind of company that arc’teryx is they put out really high quality stuff as far. As fitment of the jacket is also standard arc’teryx nice slim fitting I’m. 6 foot tall and weigh about 150 pounds and the size medium fits me perfectly. It’s long in the arms so i can actually it doesn’t it doesn’t stop short which. Is really nice also on the wrists they have a nice little elastic cuff. Kind of keep it helps keep it tighter around your wrist to help them drafts coming in but really slim fitting but it’s you know it’s a down jacket so. There’s gonna be a little bit poufier but it’s slim fitting so you don’t feel. Like you’re wearing like this gigantic down jacket really great some things i. Would i would use this jacket for are mainly backpacking because of its light. Weight and its warmth to weight ratio is outstanding but also it’s a really good. Jacket for around the town just everyday stuff and like in the spring and in the. Fall on chilly days chilly nights this. Is a really good jacket for that because it’s a lightweight down jacket it’s really not meant for like cold weather like really cold weather winter stuff that’s not what it’s made for so because. This is primarily a backpacking jacket it does come with a really nice stuff sack unfortunately i can’t show you that because i lost it, and they have. Hopefully i can find it i know it’s here somewhere i just can’t find it right now, but they actually have on the inside of their pockets or one of them anyways. They have a way they have a loop in here that’s the drawstring from the. Stuff sack will actually tie into that way you don’t lose it like i did so if. You do get this jacket just leave that on and that way you can just kind of. Stuff it rights into it and just make sure you always put it back in the pockets hopefully i can find that again because it stuffs down to a really nice size it’s only like this big which is. Super nice so one thing about this. Jacket though is because it’s a lightweight down jacket and if you go. From pretty much anything like you’re. Talking backpacking stuff anything robust is gonna be heavy so if you’re. Trying to save weight usually that involves a shaving weight involves going. To thinner materials lighter stuff is. Always less strong than more robust. Stuff so it’s just something to be aware of so i brought out another down jacket. I have which is my fjällräven down jacket and this is definitely a much. More robust jacket also notice the size difference like how i was talking about it’s probably this jacket isn’t really a good standalone piece for the winter it’s mo we made for you know backpacking and. Like chilly nights whereas notice the. Size difference this is uh i use this as. Like a winter jacket you know much thicker much heavier but it’s also more. Robust so i just want to show you the difference real quick. And i think a good representation of this is the zippers see if you can. Hopefully the camera can get this just the difference in size of the zippers and how much more robust that the fee aravind one is much thicker much heavier. Duty and even the actual zipper itself the teeth on the zipper are a. Lot thicker and there’s its much. Smaller on the arc’teryx jacket which is a good thing if you’re looking to save weight that’s definitely a good thing this is gonna be a much lighter jacket was just something to be aware of that when you’re zipping it you know it’s probably not something that can take as much of abuse as the something. Bigger I’m not saying it’s gonna fall. Apart immediately or anything i mean i went my whole thru-hike with this thing except for the on the summer months and it lasted great I’d never had any problems with it and that’s why I’m doing a review on it cuz it’s something i love never had a problem with it but if you are really hard on gear or you’re. Looking for something that you know is. Gonna get beat up probably might not be. The best option but also at the same time i don’t know arc’teryx makes really high quality stuff and I’m sure it’ll I’m sure it’ll last so a couple other features about the jacket are on the hood it’s an adjustable hood so you can cinch it down around your head try and keep that warmth in and keep the draft out it’s pretty important and on the sides it has two hand pockets nice big. Pockets big enough to get your whole hand in there and keep them warm as well as store some stuff in their obviously pretty standard stuff um so i mean a. Downside to the jacket is that because. It’s down you have to keep it dry that’s really important when i was on the 80 i used a pack cover and a pack. Liner just to make sure i was keeping all the water out but it’s just something to be aware of if you’re not a huge fan of down they do make very similar jackets i believe they’re called the adams like the adam lt which is made. Of 100% coral oft so it will be a little bit heavier and but. I mean the positive to that is it’ll stay warmer when wet but if you’re. Looking for like absolute lightweight you really can’t beat the warmth to weight ratio it down so something to be. Aware of this jackets coming in at about. 350 bucks 360 bucks something like that. So what is on the higher side but you. No i kind of believe that you do get what you pay for and arc’teryx makes really high quality stuff so you know. Well hello there guys eugene here from reviewer gear and today i want to talk to you guys about an awesome new jacket that I’ve been testing using wearing. That i really like this is the marmot avant jacket it’s a featherless synthetic fill jacket. That I’ve really enjoyed and i. Want to show you i don’t see too many views of this thing on youtube for some reason so i was like hey why not do this. So a while back i shot a review of the marmot zeus jacket this is actually a. Down jacket 800 fill and I’ve had this jacket for a. Long time and i really enjoyed it. I’ve used this thing for i think a little bit over five years now it’s an awesome jacket but it has two. Begun to worn through to wear through have some tape on it lose some feathers so it’s time to upgrade and no hood on this one so this one is just as. Warm maybe a tad bit cooler but the fact. That it has a hood it makes it just so much better and it actually is warmer because it can warm your head up which is where a lot of heat loss happens now in terms of the fit and just the construction of the jacket it has a. Nylon shell that’s very nicely water. Repellent you can actually I’ve walked in the rain snow it’ll melt and just really beat off really nicely and roll off the jacket and the cool thing about. This is that the featherless the synthetic down inside is a down that if. It gets wet it doesn’t clump down and it’s still nice and warm so that’s a. Really nice feature now let me just go kind of through all the features of the jacket but first I’ll start with the fit since i have it on in just the way it feels it’s kind of tailored to a kind of. Athletic shape so if you do have a large belly you might be able to fit in there but uh. You know it’s nicely kind of trimmed to. Fit you really well and stay close to your body and it’s very comfortable all. The way to here i hope you can hear me well but it’s up all the way to your chin and. If you always wear the hood. There’re that zips up really nicely very. Nicely shaped to your head very warm. Not too much space for when to get in there the sleeves aren’t really nice and. Long and if you raised your arms up the. Waste of the jacket doesn’t really right up that’s the angel wing movement feature from marmot that’s that’s. Excellent if you’re gonna use it for rock climbing or anything where you have to have your hands up you have that nice. Freedom of movement all the way around as you can see they’re very. Comfortable so the features also as. You’re kind of wearing this jacket we have a really nice chest pocket here and the down fill is on the outside of. This pocket and not on the inside or if you’re carrying a phone you want to stay warm fits excellently in here this is the. Iphone 6s plus so pretty large fits no. Problem into that pocket i like that a lot the previous jacket did not have that by the way I’ll have links to this. Jacket in the description haven’t quite seen on amazon yet but i will put that in there when it is available you can get at rei or a couple other online. Stores so there’s not pocket going down here we have these two hand warmer. Pockets very nice and large they go all. The way up to here down to here all the. Way to the zipper here, and they don’t go beyond here they do have a nice little lip here so even if you have the pocket open there’s something in there it won’t fall out because you have another about three inches of space they’re really nice smooth zippers that are water-resistant on the outside nice. Little plastic things there zipper pulls. And inside of these pockets you have as. You reach in there and you pull out you have these things which allow you to cinch down the waist so that’s that’s. Awesome and then to release that you have two little release buttons here just like that and then you can relax the waist like that so the waistband as you unzip all the. Way on the inside we don’t have any pockets just some tags and some information here about cleaning. It in terms of washing it you can wash it just like you do down you know just. Make sure you read the titles in there. So those are the pockets test those are the features on the cuffs here sleeves. It’s just a nice little rubber band stays nice and tight around your wrists. You can have a nice watch hidden under there no problem you know. This will fray a little bit as time goes on but nicely done really nicely done. For a mormon, and then we have a marmot logo here logo on your chest the other really cool thing about this jacket is if you have this down jacket and you want to get a rain jacket also from. Marmot let make sure they’re the same size so this is the medium and i have the medium minimalist jacket i have a. Review of this on my channel a long time ago this is one of my favorite jackets of all time the marmot minimalist rain. Jacket absolutely like it I’ve had this. For over five years has not leaked at all gore-tex but what i want to mention. In this review though is that when you put this on if they’re the same size. It’s amazing this almost every time the. Hood just automatically fits into that did i make it in their i think it did no okay but there we go. Might be under no i don’t know we’ll see but you put that on and just live it zips. This up this down jacket fits perfectly. Inside of this rain jacket so you have. Rain protection now and the rain hood. Goes right over that’s just awesome. Now it’s water protected and you’re nice. And warm inside so i really like that. How those products work together now the. Other thing i wanted to mention is that this seams here the baffles are. Very interestingly done there is actually no stitching to divide the fill. I’m not sure how they’ve done it and if you look really closely there is no stitching and there’s no melting i don’t. Have no idea how they have separated these baffles amazing stuff. Good technology yeah anyway it’s just. Really cool i will also mention that this real on the outside here the shell is very thin and i-i don’t know how easily. It will be ripped if you snag it on something sharp i think it won’t be hard to rip it so you should be careful with it but it’s very light it is a little. But heavier than a down jacket now when. We take this jacket off and we take one. Of these pockets and turn it inside out. You can just stuff the whole jacket into. One of these pockets so if you’re trying. To pack this into a backpack for going. On a nice little trip into the mountains and you know i mean of course you could just stuff this you can just stuff this. Jacket into your backpack but the other. Option is to stuff it into its own. Pocket there’s a jacket and a little hot. Dog bun so that lets you store it in. Your backpack really nicely and come nice and compact and then you can just pull it out and it expands out back to. Its original size and shape no surprise. Very nice and warm you know i can say a. Lot of good things about it I’ve had it for probably three or four months now i. Really like it i would buy it again no problem look for a sale re i will have a sale on ammo sometimes yeah i think around $230. And then you can get it all the way down to like 160 150 on a sale, and they have. A female version of this as well so if you ladies are interested there is a female version of this so check that out.
