Hey guys, thanks for checking in so today, I’m doing an unboxing video and the reason I decided to do an unboxing video was because lately I’ve been having a lot of trouble with a lot of my online purchases, whether it be missing parts damaged goods, wrong items. I’m, probably sure of many of you have run into that problem. You know with Amazon, Walmart or any other online. You know people that you know do deliveries, but this item you know a lot of that stuff is like ten dollar stuff.
Twenty dollars stuff- and you know I- can work with that, but it gets kind of frustrating when you got to keep. You know returning the item right so, but today what I’m doing is an unboxing of an item that costs just a hundred bucks. But that being said, the item is a Schwinn DayTripper cargo, trailer for a bicycle. You know you could tie tow items and stuff like that here it is I haven’t opened it up, yet he costed $99 99. That would be about what tax 107 dollars I believe and it was highly rated.
It was affordable and it was something that I needed because, due to the fact that I live in an area where there is no grocery stores that are nearby and so I don’t have my car going. I have to use a bicycle and going back and forth to the store. You know two or three times just for a week’s worth. A grocery shopping was not cutting it. So I decided, you know, I got the idea from some local homeless people. You know you see them with their those trailers that they have all the belongings in the toddler trailers.
So I did a little research on Amazon. I did pick this up for $100 $99, 99, 107 attacks and you know somewhere doing unboxing I, don’t know what you know. Condition is the box itself. As you can see, it did come in good condition. There is no damage to it. None whatsoever, it hasn’t been opened, it’s still on factory sealed. So what I’m going to do is I’m going to open it. I, don’t know what to expect and you know could be some you know. Damaged parts could be some missing parts, there could be instructions in Chinese, I, don’t know, but I did do some research on YouTube.
You know in case there were some assembly instructions and only thing I found was when does have their own little youtube channel, and it does show how you put on a coupler to the back of a bike to attach the trailer. That’s the only thing I could find as far as assembly goes I don’t know. Maybe it just pops up and you know snaps together, real quick, don’t know so we’re going to you know, take a look at it all of us together we’re going to see how easy it is and then, after everything is assembled, what I’m going to do is I’m going to give it a test run right here in the cul-de-sac where I live and we’re gonna.
You know I’ll put some debris that I got laying around the art and see if it holds up the weight and see how it feels you know dragging it around. That being said, let’s go do this. This is a the swank DayTripper, the Schwinn jig DayTripper cargo. Trailer so let’s, let’s unbox this sucker, okay guys. So let me just go ahead and show you this. First of all, it comes with the flag. So that’s not really part of this assembly. I wanted to show you, but it does come with a flag in two pieces and it comes with a little pouch.
That’s attached to it, but here we go as the weight comes with here it is. It comes folded up just like this out of the box. Okay, I’ll show you how quickly it comes together, but first it also comes. It also comes with two tires and let me see just let you know they’re partially inflated, so be aware of that. Make sure you have it inflate it. As you can see it’s rubber, it’s not hard rubber, it has tubes and then I believe so yeah you will have to inflate it. So here’s how quickly it sets up.
Okay. Basically, it comes just like this in the box, just like that it Springs wide-open comes with the boat art that you can put over for your cargo now right here, you’re gonna see there are two. There are two arms that switch and they have a little connection thing little snap in connection thing, so you just go like this line. It up pops right in same as right here, snaps in okay, now at the bottom. What you want to do when you attack before you, attach it to your bike.
There’s this arm right here. Just like so okay, you got your locking, pin easily just kind of detaches you remove the locking, pin it swings right out. Then you put it on this other hole. You just flip right in just like, so just right place, it’s not going anywhere with the tires. Little safety feature prevents damaging the axle pop that out. I. Keep this just for safety reasons for storage. Take go ahead. Put the axle in right through here. Another locking pin goes right into the hole underneath like so right over just like that, then you do the other side fairly lightweight I would say, I, don’t know.
For me, it’s probably about ten, maybe fifteen pounds at most. Take it long end little locking, pin right here. It swivels just put it right in the hole at the bottom attach it oh come on, PC I know: what’s this a crash, but it’s really not true, and there it is there’s the trailer I mean it comes together. So simple, like I, said, I wish I could have sold you um, but I deleted the files accidentally, but it comes out of the box. It’s just like that, and these are just little clips.
You see right here right into place to hold down your cargo, whatever you’re loading. Just like that, that’s the trailer! That’s how she did it really simple and again I remind you, make sure you have air in this tire. When you see my the next clip of me testing it out as I’m putting around the cul-de-sac in front of my home. You know there is no air in this tire. I wouldn’t recommend out with heavy loads, but it does say it has a hundred pound limit to it fairly light easy to use.
And again, we need to show you quickly how easy it is to disassemble remind you right here, there’s a little place where you can put your flag careless. So a little velcro I didn’t see that velcro on the sides just like that right here there will be two little things. You just pinch all right. A little bit me earlier. There goes sang with the front doubt I do help admit it is a little tricky like that. Alright, just like so and of course go ahead and replace that and that’s it there you go that’s how easy it is all right.
So there’s the coupler now I put it all together, let’s go ahead and attach it as you can see right here. It’s a little clip right here. That’s a safety feature. This will wrap around the frame of the bike, but basically here’s another one of those quick-release I. Think you see it in the Sun. Just go like that, pull out the locking, pin insert it into the bike. It’s like so little wiggle put it back in there peel your way around there. It is, and then this like I, said it’s a safety feature, let’s kind of go around here and do a couple times.
Oh yeah just go like that. That’s it boom done. Look at that! This did put this on here, but I’m gonna put this bug. This buckets full of cement, I’m, just gonna, give it a test ride when I put it in there just to see how it feels alright drop the bucket in there. Here we go. It’s got weight oops. What the hell there! It is so I’m gonna give it a test test ride all right. Here we go okay, so there you have it. That is absolutely awesome. That was absolutely money well spent my review of this trailer.
It’s definitely a thumbs up, I think there’s a five-star rating on Amazon. Definitely five stars for me: assembly super quick, I, barely except for that one time that I just kind of reviewed over just a glance at the instructions. It was pretty much common sense. I mean it just as you’ve seen it’s just folded right up and it was ready to go attaching the coupler super easy just be mindful of just be mindful. Okay, make sure your rear wheel is properly aligned when you tighten it down.
So I did that when you see me biking around I, barely even felt it behind me. The only reason I did feel it behind me was because I did not inflate the tires. I kind of just did that on a whim. I probably shouldn’t have, because when I make sharp turns, you kind of did feel a little bit of slogging around the only difference. I really felt was that bucket in the back was kind of shifting around that’s because I didn’t properly secure it down, but that’s okay. It held the weight, that’s about at least a good twenty pound bucket full of quikrete, so yeah I mean, for the most part, this little sucker right next to the big trailer.
This little trailer right here is definitely a hundred dollars well spent Kord, technically a hundred dollars and set a hundred and seven dollars well spent. So, overall Ashwin DayTripper cargo, trailer for bicycles, definitely a thumbs up highly recommend it I hope you got something out of this. There’s no videos I’ve seen out there on. How do you assembly probably do the fact it’s easy to do I mean a blind monkey could do it. You know what I mean so there you go, go ahead, purchase it don’t be afraid thumbs up.
If you like this video, please give it a thumbs up. Subscribe, favorite share it whatever they say and do on youtube-land. Do it? Okay, thanks for watching guys and peace out. You.

All right, Kelly this survivalist here that much of a survivalist fight I, had to show you guys. This awesome thing that I got from my bike, got it on eBay. It looks like around 100 bucks and remember what they call it’s kind of like a bike caddy or something right bike carriers, alright, so I just had to make this video, because this thing’s awesome just recently Mike was in a car accident and the cars a little damaged right now and I’m kind of fighting with an insurance company right now and we’re at a waiting period to see.
If the meantime you know, we still have to go places and still got to go up to the grocery store and you know get groceries and shop, and you know: we’ve got a water filtration system and anybody who has those water filtration systems. You know you got to put those salt, you know salt pellets in it and they’re pretty heavy. So anyway, I was so impressed by this thing. I’ll just go over a couple.
Little once-over is about it and then I’ll show you how much weight I just towed about we’re about. Two and a half, maybe three miles from the grocery store up the street, and let me go over some features with this thing. There there’s two different models that I know of right offhand, there’s one that has like a yellow cover right. This is like the next better model that was only like about I, think, $10 or so more expensive.
That’s all and it’s the red one and it’s a higher weight rating. So what I did is it says that this thing can tote a hundred and eighty pounds maximum right and I? Believe we just put that to the test today. The tires says you can put a max pressure in them of 60 pounds, 60 psi, while I was at the grocery store and I weighed and I got this thing weighted down the tires kind of bowed a little, so I just took my little tire pump here.
You know on my bike and I, just kind of pumped it up just a little one of those little hand, pumps and I put about 50 pounds of repair pressure in them. You know both tires and let me mention this: these little lights here we purchased at Walmart. They do not come with it and we got a red one and a white one in a package for five bucks and they’re just cheap little lights and you know turn them on they blink and then they don’t blink.
So I got those they do not come with this carrier system. I purchased those separately. This thing’s got this awesome hinge system here, where it’s it’s spring-loaded right to handle weight and what you want to do is this is like a safety strap and what you do. Is you just kind of wrap it around here? You know what I do is: do a wrap like that then I do another rap in right, then I bring it over here, I like to put it through here and then reconnect right, just like a little safety strap.
This connecting arm is awesome. This thing has like a kind of like what they call. You know cotterpin thing, and it comes with this l-shaped bracket. You’ll loosen up your screw here for your back tire put this little l-shaped bracket on here. It’s got this spring-loaded arm right that adjusts and you basically just slip it on there line up the hole. Take your you know: cotter pin thing slip it in and make sure it latches and then make sure you know you don’t forget to do your safety strap on okay and it goes right onto a bike.
This is my mountain bike that I got actually last Christmas, so it’s so funny that I bought the wife and I bikes man like last Christmas, because maybe it was the Christmas for I, think it was last Christmas they’re, pointing it up we’re putting some use to him now and works great. So this thing is really awesome. One thing I like about this one is: it’s got like these protective bars on the side so funny enough.
I should mention this. If you have a typical size width door going in and out of your house, yeah you’re not going to roll this thing in and out, that’s too wide. So we pick it up the both of us and we carry it out. It’s really light. You could carry it out your self Anacin so anyway, this is all reflective. This is all reflecting. You know these tires are decent I may upgrade to like a maybe a more tougher tread or something but awesome man.
So let me show you because I had to make this video I am so impressed with this unit, the eBay seller that I purchased this thing from after I get done uploading this thing on to YouTube I’m, given that guy the link, because he got this thing shipped to me like within a week alright within a week and I, got it from I forget what state it was I think it was Wisconsin, yeah, Wisconsin or Minnesota, one of those things that came down here to Southwest Florida within a week, man, so I’m gonna hook this guy up in the cold video.
So let me show you guys what I just hold in this puppy man, that’s why I am just so impressed with this thing all right. So this is our 40 pound bags of salt. All right we’ve got one bag, so we’ve got a two gallon thing of laundry cleaner, which, from my wife is telling me that a gallon weighs 8 pounds so because this is 2 gallons, it should be 16 pounds. So we got 16 pounds there all right. We got a 16 pound bag of gravy, train dog food cuz, our dogs love it.
Well, we add 16 and 16. We got 32 right, all right, 32 plus 40. What do we got? 72 no did I. Do that wrong. No I did not collect good all right now we got another 40 pound bag, Oh, another 40 pound bag. What we got here, folks man, that’s a hundred and twenty pounds of salt bags for the water filtration system plus another 32 pounds. What does that make folks that makes 132 and a hundred and twenty that’s a hundred and fifty two pounds? Man, we actually did have some more stuff.
We had like some coffee creamers, and then we had some big old roll of paper towels, which pretty much weighs nothing. But what else did we have? We had a gallon of milk right, so the gallon of milk, eight pounds right, we’ll add two cans of dog food, but those aren’t heavy either like one or two pounds: eight another, eight pound gallon of milk. So what did we have? A hundred and fifty to add another eight pounds.
That’s 160 pounds right there and I also have I got my bag of tools. This is probably you know. I’ve got some wrenches and some pliers and it got my bike locks you know in here I would have to say this is probably another, maybe eight or ten pounds. You know I’d say ten yeah so say where say we’re pushing at about 170 pounds all right, easy, 170 pounds I just towed about three miles on this puppy and man.
It didn’t even blink at it. Funny I gotta mention this. If you have ever driven a truck, moved somewhere or towed a vehicle right, you know when you’re pulling off that stop light or that stop sign. You can feel the weight behind you. You know you go and then you feel the weight right and when you’re going up hills and going down hills you’re, like you know, you feel it. You know just like towing a car or something that’s actually a interesting experience.
Man on he’ll nose, unique so anyway, so you’ll feel the weight. But I swear you mana easy 170 pounds man. This thing took it like nothing and as long as you got the Gulf India to do it, I bet you. This thing probably could even probably do more weight than that. Possibly don’t quote me on that. That’s just my opinion and not what the manufacturer rates this thing at they rate it at 180 pounds max and probably, if you’re going to do 180 pounds, you probably want to keep these air at probably about 50 or 55 psi.
But I just had to make this video book. It was fun. He was a workout. I am sweating a little bit, but I had to make this video because really helping in a time where you know and that’s it killing survivalist and get yourself. One of these.

(Cheerful music) the Burley Flatbed cargo, trailer, which, in my opinion, turns any bike into a cargo bike. Hey friends, it’s Arleigh with Bike Shop Girl, a cargo and family bike shop here in Colorodo I, am really focused on connecting families and communities by bike and helping people replace those car trips And. This trailer is one of my favorite ways to do that without investing initially in that cargo bike So. What we’re gonna be doing today is unboxing the Burley Flatbed trailer, which is a $250 cargo trailer, showing you kind of the key features.
How easy it is to set up And. This is going home with a customer today, so hopefully I can grab some video of hooking it up to her electric bike Now. The key features of this trailer. As I mentioned, the price is $250. It weighs about 14 pounds and has a capacity of a hundred pounds You’ll see in second how easy this is to build, but also how well they’ve made a platform for you just to do with it. What you need So I know many people that use this for daily grocery pickup.
Maybe they take it bike camping and it’s really allowed them to have a trunk on their bike but easy to take it off and leave it in their garage or even in their car. If they’re not using it Let’s just jump into it and get it unboxed How do people that knifey thing? Ha, ha! Here, it is Push button wheel. Super easy to install I’ll show you that in a second Directions and reflectors Second wheel, these are not directional at all. This is the trailer arm. As you can see.
It is very compact Now. All you do is take these sides and put ’em up and then put the pins in right here. So it’s easy to collapse. (Cheerful music) I’m, like 90%, done unpacking. This thing takes the longest Put the wheels on Pop one wheel on pop the second wheel on find the side with this square hole and that’s for our hitch. (Metal clicking) Take off this back, pin push the button on the hitch slide that pin through and clip it again. Make sure all these pins are in We’re essentially done On.
This side is the hitch which will attach to my customer’s bike. They do have various hitch options if you have through axle or need a longer quick release. Sticking out of your bike And, you can simply put crates on here: strap ’em in I personally use old tubes to basically run through itself into the other side. But, as you can see, you have a nice platform or canvas to strap anything to it. We’ll install the reflectors and I do recommend some blinky lights And.
If you’re riding this at night, I wrap it in reflective tape and put some wheel lights, just blinky wheel lights on the sides, because it is low and dark So there you have it. This is the Burley Flatbed cargo, trailer and I will be doing a comparison. Video between this one and the Burley Travoy I think they have their own unique purposes and needs Like. You can’t put a pizza on the Travoy, but you can’t really easily take this and wheel it into the grocery store So.
It really depends on your life and what you’re needing If. You would like to see a thorough use and abuse review of this. Let me know We’re doing a few bikepacking trips and I can easily add this to the back of one of my cargo bikes to see how it really handles the abuse of children and me So. Thank you for joining me. If. You enjoyed this content, please give it a thumbs up hit subscribe and let me know if you have any questions about this trailer or any cargo oriented product Until next time this was Arleigh with Bike Shop Girl, where we’re connecting families and communities by bike, (upbeat music).
