What’s up guys, this is a honest outlaw here and today we’re gonna be reviewing the streamlight tlr-2 flex. Now that is a long name before we do that. I want to thank my page two supporters, I. Do it every video you guys are the reason why the channel still here can’t appreciate you guys as nothing because of that we do all kinds of cool stuff over on the patreon page, I bounce ideas off you, and on top of that you guys get some exclusive access to some of the videos I put up there.
You can only see on there and I also answer all the questions that you have. So if you direct message me and have a gun question, I will answer it as soon as I possibly can TLR 7a is a pretty cool little weapon light design for pistols. You can put it on rifle if you want to learn, I’m sure it would work, especially for a home defense style rifle.
However, it is predominantly designed for pistols and that’s really where it excels. You can see here that I have one on the sig m17 and it fits flush on that we can unscrew it here. That’s how it mounts just be a flathead little serrated wheel there and you can see how it mounts on the Glock as well, make it very flush and very tight.
So if you want to run this for a concealed carry light, it doesn’t take out much space I like that, a lot on top of that it has 500 lumens 140 meter, beam distance, which we did test and I can confirm that 140 hundred 50 yards. You can easily see with this light, which is pretty impressive, 1 5 hour runtime. It runs off a single one, two three, a battery making it relatively easy to find and cheap to purchase to recharge your light.
So you can see the lights in there and all you do is remove the lens bevel. Whatever you want to do, and then I’ll you screw back on trying to cross reddit like an idiot, then all you got to do is Mount it back up to your light or even take it off without even taking the light off the gun, which is pretty cool, yep all right.
So this is that 25 yards I figure. We just start here. You guys can see what it looks like Dule kill ourselves. You can see this one’s the one we’ve been using the most batteries a little bit dead on it and this one’s a little bit brighter. This is that 50 yards everything is still completely visible, which is I, think pretty impressive for a light two and a half ounces about an inch and a half long overall, very bright out of this tiny light.
I’d have no problem engaging any of those targets from here now we are at 80 yards. Everything is still easily visible. Obviously, there’s a little bit more flood in something like a x300 ultra, maybe or even a no light. Valkyrie Pro, both of those lights, are a little bit more powerful than this one. This one’s a little bit smaller though so it’s a trade off and we’ll just see how many pulls down we can see.
You can see one it’s about 40 yards away. Next, one is about over a little over 100 150 about 200 yards I can see the distance in that pole, but not easily I’d, say the hundred and forty meter throw advertised on the website is accurate. Now this is the m9 a3. This is my probably my favorite beretta one of my favorite guns.
Honestly, it looks super cool and on top of that, runs really really nice suppressed and I can run it a long time without cleaning it. As you can see there suppress that it doesn’t have any failures which I like so what we did was we ran this light. Pretty late, I’ve been getting home late lately and I didn’t want to start smack and steel at 10 11 12 1 o’clock in the morning, so we actually shot paper targets with this, but the suppressor on- and nobody knows the wiser.
So it’s a good way to test light, while still feeling like here and call of duty and on top of that, doesn’t wake the neighbors either. So that was really nice. The TL r78 performed, in my opinion, very very impressive. The difference between this and the standard TL r7, if you guys, are wondering the a series B series and the Flex series- is the different switches.
So on this model here this is the one we durability tested and you can see that we have the high switches on there, which is the ones I prefer. The Flex series comes with a back piece here, and all you have to do is take this piece off via these screws and you can put the low mount on if you want I like the high mo and the reason why I like the high mount is because you can use it as a gas pedal which is really cool, and on top of that I’ve seen.
Some people use the the inside of their thumb like that, might want to screw that that wall under the light work and what I’ve been doing, is over-exaggerating thumb because I got the long thumbs and I’ve been pressing with the the bottom crook of my thumb. There and I can use the top portion as a gas pedal and still operate the light with the bottom portion, and that makes it extremely ergonomic.
So this light went from essentially unusable with the standard tail or seven switch. It is, in my opinion, two extremely usable with these switches. This is really well done. They did a couple of things here aside from make it easy to use. They made the press down which I really like I, like that you press down, because it downward force on the light not only helps with that recoil control, but it doesn’t move the gun off target either a lot of times in your press and inward, like a surefire or something like that, you can press the gun a little bit to the right or left depending on what hand you’re using and with this light, you won’t have to worry about that.
So you’ve got a light. That’s two and a half ounces, which is super light, really flush with a gun, and on top of that, it’s pretty bomb proof as well. I did the same testing with this light, as I do with all the other lights, which includes a water test. Kicking it down a gravel road thrown 20 feet in the air a bunch of times, I threw it at pile of bricks.
A few times and I did several shoulder height drops on this light with no problems whatsoever. All right. This is the streamlight tlr-2 fine, throw test to it, throw it up in the air about 20 feet round leg day was today so I’m a little bit sore up. What’s just fine as I expected, shoulder height drop on the concrete and one more right on the bezel that right there is a pallet of bricks, which is good for testing flashlights that works so durability with the stream light doesn’t appear.
That is a question. The nice thing is I’m working with OpticsPlanet now and I got one of these guys from OpticsPlanet and the nice thing about working with OpticsPlanet. Is they allow you guys a discount code? So if you want to get this light, all you got to do is go down in the pin comments. That’s where we got to put it these days, because YouTube gets mad.
If you put stuff like that in the description they can take down. My video cowl over there’s, a good friend of mine, now I met him at shot, show and we’ve been bantering back and forth ever since I like working with OpticsPlanet, because there’s no conflict of interest. If this light sucked I could easily tell you anyone get mad at me, unlike a lot of other companies, which is why I don’t work with very many now, on top of the switches, the light weight, the durability, what you’re gonna have is a throw that goes about 150 meters from a pistol which is more than you’re ever gonna need from a handgun, I assume worst-case scenario: you’re gonna have to be an officer, something like that.
I’m gonna look down a long alleyway, that’s maybe a block long. You should be able to illuminate that entire alleyway with no issue. We were illuminating, all the targets, just fine at a hundred yards, but what you’re gonna get out of this light is you’re gonna get a little bit more flood, then you are throw it see.
I have a little bit wider beam pattern because concealed carry light should I really do especially for pistols, because why not illuminate the whole room? If you can, on top of that, still having that super intense beam that you can defeat somebody with light, if you’re gonna carry a weapon light on your gun, it’s nice to have a high amount of lumens like something like five hundred at least, but you can actually eliminate a lot of threats you’re simply by putting a light on them.
Now they can no longer see you and you can move and shoot in whatever you have to do and having a serious advantage on your side, blinding your opponent and defeating them flight. So I like that, some of the constants light- it’s not all perfect in my opinion, are gonna, be the mounting system. So, while we were out there testing, we didn’t have one of these that I really thought was tight.
Now you have to remember for reviewing purposes we don’t lock tight stuff like this, because I’m taking it off and put it on a whole bunch of different guns. So if you want to make sure this thing doesn’t fall off and you want to keep it on the gun for a long time, I would I would just honestly put a little bit of Loctite on this and make sure doesn’t come off, because we had one of these rattle loose on this gun right here, and it was this light right here and it was very tight when we went out and then throughout the course of shooting it did rattle and fall off.
You could eliminate that one lock that again, but we did the other thing I don’t like about it. Is it’s not QD mounting? Okay, so like take a no light or even the new sure fires, and you can click it right on your gun, no problem, this you have to spin the little dial and then you have to eventually get a little casing or a pocket knife or a screwdriver.
It’s not that big of a deal, but it certainly isn’t easier to take on and off than some of the other products in its price point. This light is around 140 dollars. It is waterproof, it is aluminum and it is very durable and very lightweight. It’s one of the better concealed carry lights. I’ve seen come out in a long time, which is why I wanted to review it for you guys and that’s why I requested it from OpticsPlanet, so overall I think the lights pretty badass, if it wasn’t I, wouldn’t have bought two more already and I think that it’s probably worth the price.
Overall. If you liked this video, please like and subscribe, please up, shelters and remember to recycle I’ll check you later, no lock back on the MDX mags. The staccato c2 is the most accurate compact gun I’ve ever fired on this channel. Maybe it’s just me, but honestly, I fired this better than the Wilson Combat EDC x9 I fired this better than a Glock and I would be anything I’m shocked, extremely impressive shoots it up close.
It’s really really fast at distance. It’s extremely accurate! All thanks to that single action. 1911 style trigger Big Ups to John Browning for creating that guy he gaps. You.
This is brett with streamlight and before we get started, we’ve completed our safety sweep and there are no loaded, magazines or ammunition in our work area and all chambers are clear, empty and flagged. Today we’re going to talk about the streamlight tlr-10, a low profile, ray mounted tactical light with integrated laser. The light is designed to enhance visibility and targeting capability in home, defense and tactical situations.
It has a durable anodized, machined aircraft, aluminum construction. The unit has a rail clamp system that securely attaches and detaches the light quickly and safely, with no tools required and without putting your hands in front of the muzzle. The tlr-10 includes customized ambidextrous switches with either a low or high position to match your shooting style any of the three modes light only laser only or light, and laser combo can be selected by pressing and holding one switch on and tapping the other for the desired mode.
When you release both switches, the mode is locked in and can be activated by using either switch button. You can operate the light in any of the three modes by pressing and holding either switch for momentary output or by tapping once for constant on the tlr-10 output. Is a thousand lumens 200 meter, beam distance and runs an hour and a half in light only or light and laser modes? It runs 60 hours in laser, only mode and 3 hours in strobe mode.
There’s a user enabled strobe function that can quickly and easily be programmed in or out of the light with streamlight’s 10 tap function. The custom optic produces a narrow beam with optimum peripheral illumination. The tlr-10 uses two cr123a lithium batteries that are included the batteries go in by unscrewing the face cap of the light, no need to remove the light from the weapon to change the batteries and then have to recheck the laser for accuracy.
The unit also has a safe off or lockout position by unscrewing the face cap, a quarter turn from tight, you can feel the detent or you can line up the visual markings on the side of the light. This feature protects against accidental activation of light while being stored in a case, for example, saving the batteries. This unit also has windage and elevation adjustment, screws mounted brass in brass bushings for long life and dependable zero retention of the laser.
The tlr-10 is also ipx7 waterproof to one meter for 30 minutes and has a limited lifetime. Warranty part number 69470. The tlr-10 flex includes high switch mounted on the light. The low switch lithium batteries hex key and rail locating key kit to securely fit into a broad range of guns for a complete listing of part numbers and specific weapons, compatibility for the tlr-10 and streamlight’s full line of lighting products.

What shaken tactical pianist, Peter Vaughan pan to here? He just bought light for uh one of my pistols. Let’s just say many. This is a PL to Valkyrie, LED weapon light and it’s kind of a traditional shaped style weapon like, but it’s 1200 lumens and you know, I’ve been so impressed with all like products in the past year. That I wanted to check this one out, because I just find them to have really good quality. Cree bulbs, 1200 lumens, looks like it should fit standard, Picatinny rail and let’s go ahead and open it up here and just comes take a look at what we get in this little bad boy and as I’m doing that.
I also tell you that I’ll put a link to everything in the description in case you need to take one of these up because I think you should, especially if you like it, let’s call it a nightstand gun or something you want to be able to see in the dark. Let’s fry it when you’re gonna need it. If you ever do need it well, sealed box here: hands go to my trusty knife: let’s go ahead and unbox it here, and this is what you get caution. It gets hot I always like seeing that, because that means you’ve got a serious LED in there bill two Valkyrie, you can see here kind of cancel, edged lens right.
There flat see, there’s a little bit of a frosted lens over the LED element, and then you have a release here which will tighten it down against the pic rail. You also have a little pop-up bar there, which is gonna fit into one of your tea slots, so you’ll fit it on and then tighten it down here. It’ll slot, all the way back there you’re going to have pull open okay. So this is where we get to the batteries little protective plastic to keep from discharging see what we got in here in terms of batteries.
So we have do not recharge. These are old lights. Three volt 1600, milliamps, cr123a, lithium batteries, so cool for high drain devices, so positive up negative up right there oops it’s already. Turning on see, it’s there’s an there’s, a gasket right around the bottom here, so that should be nice and waterproof see get it’s a lot closed. There we go so you lift that up kind of pulls in this little tab here, I can close it I flipped on that switch, and now it’s locked in place.
Now you have two switches here for activating light, which I already have inadvertently done and I think you just push in on the sides and that activates a light. So you know if your fingers right up here, because you’re searching for your target, you know and scanning great to me and then that suckers bright, dude wow that is really freaking bright and now, if I double tap it No. Okay, so if I click it once quickly, it stays on and again turns off or if I just hold it down and release I just get momentary lights.
So if I tech, quick tap on and both sides activate the same thing so momentary by holding it and a quick tap to turn it on. So that’s great because, especially you know you’re using it for momentary, but then you need to put your finger on your trigger for some reason. Then you can just tap it and you’re gonna still have light so now the question is: how well does this work outside and does that fit a pistol? That’s right right! So I’ve got my HK vp9 here one of my favorite guns.
It is clear, but I don’t owe you that I think and it’s not loaded. So what we have here is Picatinny rail on the front and let’s see if it just works. So if I flip it open here and then basically what you’re gonna try to do is find a slot that a fits in looks like I’d need to go to the very end here, but it’s on there and then I can tighten this down and boom. And it’s on look at that huh tampering with my index finger like that, the lights on and go to my trigger. As you can see, the light is right, where I need it right, yeah that man I’m a precision, shooter and then I can hit it right with my index finger again turn it off and I think it’s right where you needed to be now.
This is a full-size duty, sized pistol, but look at me even with my small hands, I’d be gripping it like this and, as you can see, my index finger falls right on where it needs to so I can hit it no problem. Now, let’s see what the sucker looks like in the dark okay, so it’s pretty dark out here time to sweep the house. Oh look at this. The O light man feel like I’m playing the video game. Dude I could sweep the house here, I’m telling you it’s dark. If I don’t have this sucker on, how am I sweep in the house but whip it on boom? No problems thing works.
Man I’m pretty impressed with that dude. The light is right. Where you need it, you can keep on target man. Huh and I can click it off with my finger right, there pretty awesome I. Think this thing is a window. I am super stoked about it. I’ll tell you what man this thing is. Not only is it doesn’t work great, but it is so high quality. You know you can just feel how high quality is when you you take it out of the box when you’re tapping into you mean even the rubber around a little those toggle switches.
There are just phenomenal and I’m just super stoked. To finally get this. You know: I’ve had some tactical lights in the past, which were of you know, mmm suspect quality, but this old light thing is definitely top notch. I mean so I’m really really pleased with it. You might as well spend a couple bucks and get something that fits right, isn’t going to damage to the gun and obviously works just unbelievably. Well, that’s my opinion on it. Peter van panda out.
The Oh light PL to Valkyrie is an vanillite. This thing is crazy. It’s the brightest weapons on the light I’ve seen if you want something a little bit less bright, there’s also the PL 1, which is 450 lumens, the PL 2 retails for 99 95, the PL one retails for 80 up wings -, both of them down below this runs on 2 cr123 batteries. The PL one runs on a single cr123. Here’s the box, some stats down here or run for 71 5 minutes and that’s a minute and a half on the 1200, and then it will ramp down to 600 lumens.
Do that for another 70 minutes, because at 1200 lumen as small as this thing is, it does get pretty warm. It will also do a strobe 1200 lumens for 70 minutes. If you’re so inclined the throw distance here, it says: 235 meters I usually just change the meters to feet to get what is generally a useful distance. So this becomes 235 feet. It’s probably the distance that you’re going to get meaningful use out of it. It’s IP x, 6 rated for water resistance, and then it has the create p35 high LED.
It has a TIR lens, total internal reflection lens, and this throws a far smooth focus beam that I’ll show you in a little bit the boss. It also comes with a 5 year warranty, a light, just celebrated their 10 year anniversary and their products have so far been stellar. As far as holding up for me on the back here, you can pause and read the little story here if you want, but again this just goes over kind of that same stuff that I just covered.
So there is the box inside the box. Aside from the light itself, you also get two mounting options. It comes standard mounted for a Glock rail, which is this one here, and you can change that out for a 19-13 rail if you’re just going to use a regular Picatinny I have an M&P, so I swapped it out. Although the Glock rail mount worked, fine on my min P, no problem, but it comes and you just change the Torx bits here and swaps it out no problem.
So that’s that when you get it, it will come with a little protective piece over the battery, so the batteries don’t activate in the packaging. I always appreciate these lights that come with batteries because save you some money and here’s light itself to get to the batteries on the back. Here you just lift up this little flap and the back opens up comes with non-rechargeable cr123 s. You can use rechargeables in it if you want, but it comes with two non rechargeables and you can see the polarity here.
Just make sure you get that matched up right to close it lift up a little flap push it back down, and it’s sealed. As you can see, it’s nice and small, it’s a little bit wide again, this being two cr123. It’s got a little bit of width to it. You just want to get the PL one single cr123, it’s a little bit more narrow on the side of it. A light logo here, I’m going to side peel to Valkyrie the serial number on the top there’s the the lever and then up in the front here.
There’s that TIR lens with the LED and the bottom, one of the things with this is I’ve used. Some left their weapons out of life and I always have to get the the screwdriver and kind of mount them on. This thing goes on crazy, easy I could not believe when I put this on the gun, the first time just how well this went and to show you. So this is MMP full-size and it will mount on that first. First, rail slot here as a side note, it will not fit on a compact there’s only two rail slots there and you can see if you put it all the way back against it, it’s just not going to fit on a glock 19.
I’m not sure I don’t have one of those here but known t compact not going to fit full-sized pistol, no problem. So all you do is you put that up in there and then you simply flip that back and it’s mounted, and that is it that does the hole as quick as it needs to go. Click on click off. So if you want to change this between guns, it’s just quick and easy. It is pretty snug back here against the trigger guard. I, don’t want to say almost as if it doesn’t fit, but it’s just snug fits fine, no problems there there’s a fit of it now functioning of this light again, very simple: I’ll come back with a gun here in a minute, but the way this functions is there’s two side buttons here and that way you can activate it from either side, and this has both a momentary and a regular on to do the momentary.
You just press it, and you can press it for really not that long long enough that you can sweep a room with it. I mean pretty pretty quick and then, if you tap it, it will stay on. You can do that from either side hold it here, tap it and stays on. Also, if you click it from both sides. At the same time, you’ll get a strobe and then off by tapping the side so momentary or click it and stays on. As far as the pushing the buttons you can either push them from the back kind of straight in or you can push them in from the side.
Now, looking at this functioning with it’s shooting on the gun there, it is depending on what your grip is. Some people are a thumbs up grip. Some people are a thumbs down grip. Some people are I cross, thumb grip, but if you are a thumbs forward shooter, which is how I shoot, then it’s very easy to get to it to actually either with your thumb there. You can use your index finger here, but granted then there’s that pull turns on and then shoot unless you’re just going to leave it on which you shouldn’t really do, but that’s a whole other whole other video, but when you’re shooting it’s very easy just to get to it, with your thumb trigger here nice and quick and easy on so easy to actuate momentary, tap it on hold it on sweep and then, if you want to get both sides to get that strobe keep that both sides.
So this thing it could not be easier. It is, as you can see, a little bit wide just from the bottom, so you’re certainly need a special holster for this, a special kind of wide body holster to pound, how you’re, carrying and just stick out the front there a little bit the beam here. Just to give you a rough eye you can see here. This is just on this piece of cardboard right in front of me and you see that little small hot spot there, it’s actually even smaller.
It’s my hat my eye. It’s only this big became what kind of blows it out a little bit. So it’s a very focused hot spot about that big I. Do that compared to granted. This is a hiking light. The h2r nova see the difference on the hot spot there to my eye. This is just a very diffuse hot spot. There’s that versus that. So you can see this one nice wide beam and then this one has a much more focused beam. That’s going to throw it nice long, smooth distance! Now, with this light, it is insanely bright, as I mentioned, 1200 lumens and 1200 lumens, depending on what you’re doing at like house clearing distances room, clearing distances is really bright, I would say almost too bright.
In that case, the pl one might be a better option for you. However, another use for this, if you don’t want to put it on your handgun, is that you can mount it on, say a rifle here’s, my SPR, you can put up on the top of the rail here and it flips right on there, as you can see quick and easy compared to this stream light that I have down here, that I have to get a screwdriver or a quarter or something- and this is always a hassle to put on there.
This thing it’s a second and it’s mounted on there and then, depending on how you hold your rifle easy to actuate it again, no problem, you could put it on the side. The buttons are gonna, be I kind of on the top of the bottom, so it might be easier either on the top or maybe on the bottom, but I think probably on the top, but with rifle clearing distances. I think it might be a little bit more useful for this brightness compared to on a pistol at room clearing distances where the PL one might be good, but yeah just depends on what your use is either way.
It is a fantastic light, its I again I’m used to my stream light here, which is fine, it’s good, but this one seems to be light years ahead obvious as far as brightness, because this is only a couple hundred lumens and it’s just so easy to put on it’s well put together. I can’t complain about it. It’s great option so check it out. It’s the Oh light l to Valkyrie.
Understands that it does not come with a battery. In that said, battery is typically hard to get I purchased one from our local tactical store, but it is in take a simple watch battery from the market. Good little light has lasted me a pretty good long time so far, I’ve had it for a couple of months used it a lot played with it a lot I like the way that it connects to the rail who really really fast so ad. There’s no need for me to keep it on my pistol. I have a Sig Sauer, 2022 and I can put it on my pistol in about one second and I can take it off in about one second, it’s quick on quick off, so I don’t have to leave it on my pistol, good good idea.
Thank you. Quality aluminum didn’t come with a battery, though the only drawback to this is. It has no way to adjust your beam of light. You know you can’t make it tighter or wider.

Oh, this is my bursa thunder 9 pro perfect, fit on the front rail that little wibblewobble disattach wibbly-wobbly if you’re pushing and pulling on it, but it’s secure so no problems there. It does require AC arc to a battery. I had one left and it was a kind of an old ones and it died on me while I was playing with the lighting. However, they’re really not that expensive, especially be shop around in Amazon, you can come up with some good deals.
That’s where I did I picked up a 2-pack for like $2 I was like so, but it it’s kind of a long shipping process with those batteries just I’m still waiting on them to show up, but the before my battery died, I have to say, I really like the high beam high beam is perfect. I am personally not sure why they’ve had to include the strobe the eye there you go. It has a strobe function on as well, but the high beam is perfect.
I guess the strobe is pretty. You know eye catching as a safety feature. If you need- and you want to use it, it does that manner, but nice easy click, action there and good balance, so all in all, very pleased very pleased as well. Alright, you guys have yourself a great one.
