Hey everyone gear review or three one two here today we're gonna be reviewing the arc'teryx head um lt vest. First impressions love it awesome. It's arc'teryx i have a number of their products as usual this one's phenomenal. Today I'm going to kind of go over a quick breakdown of my impressions and. I weigh 170 pounds as things that's perfectly i wouldn't recommend anything smaller or. Larger severe same size medium and. Adjust accordingly the vest has cored. Loft i kept the tag on so that you could. See that quick background i have the. Arc'teryx atom lt hoodie which i love i. Wear it all the time and i wanted this. On this vest because i felt it would be. Good for weather around 30 to 50 degrees. I live in chicago so the weather is all. Over the place so it's nice to have something for that range although i could wear the hoodie. Admiralty hoodie if i wanted to but just. A different change of pace so anyways the quarter lot where it's just really well no complaints keeps you. Warm breeze well a great product it. Really does alright so let's do a little. Little closer breakdown as you can see. This kinda has like a rip stop nylon. Appearance to it. To the left of it this is standard with. The atoms it's more of a mesh material. Okay one thing that did throw me off. Guard though was in the inside as you. Can see right here it's kind of like an. Elastic band that is actually kind of. Cool because it keeps the vast more snug. Around your head so wind doesn't kind. Only fly up and get into the jacket so. You're well insulated with this again it. Does breathe well in these side panels. Really help with the breath ability i. Purchased mine from paragon sports and i. Was actually very impressed with their standard shipping i got it and i think three or four days so kudos to them the. Price point 149 which i think is. Standard all over the place i actually couldn't purchase it on the arc'teryx website because they were sold out, but they tell you to give paragon a try. Inside again on this side not much. Although i do love this like red kind of wine color and then on the right we have. A pocket which is nice there is a pocket. Here and then there's not a pocket on. This side. Other than that there's not a lot. To describe i mean if you're looking for a best if you're looking for probably the best that you can buy for this. Today i'm going to do a review of my patagonia sweater hoody down sweater. Hoody so this features 800 fill which is. Completely filled from the hood all the way to the bottom to the edge has completely 800 fill down which pedagogic. Claims is 100% traceable ethically. Sourced so you can feel pretty good about buying it i'm looking at the outer shell as you can see it's got a very. Nice matte finish the fabric itself. Feels quite strong it's a 20 by 30 denier so it's gonna be very durable last several years and as you can see on. The outside we have two pockets that can be zipped up and it's got one more interior pocket inside one of the best things i like about this is it comes with a hood so really during those colder days in the winter it will keep really warm an apartment was having a hood you have one of these adjustments. So that if it does get really cold you can really strap that thing down and seal it a lot of the warmth so overall. This weighs 15 ounces so it's not going. To be the lightest jacket down jacket out there but it will be a very warm one there's gonna be very versatile and so i'm gonna try it on so you guys can see what it looks like just to give you idea of my dimensions i'm 5/8 i weigh just. Under 160 pounds so pretty regular its. Weight and this is a medium jacket from. Patagonia so i'm going to zip this thing up you can kind of get a feel for what. It looks like so as you can see it's not. Super form-fitting it does have a little. Bit of space to move around in when i put my arms up it doesn't come up all the way like some of the other jackets i've tried and at the same time is a very kind of close feeling to so you don't feel like you're in this huge winter poufy jacket and it's really versatile for a lot of situations just for running around town or even out kind of waiting for the bus stop on the way to working like that the hood where we. Put it over like i mentioned before the zipper goes all the way up and hopefully you can still hear me and my voice so sound - muffled and you can pull the. Adjustment that i showed you in the back i'm really tighten that up so it really. Seals in all all this area so that no heat will escape from your head which is a really nice feature to have on a down jacket and so all in all this is why are we one of my favorite pieces like i said it's versatile and the fact that you can layer up so if you will have a harder shell that you want to protect on the outside will add more. Weight protection even though this is quite one protect in itself but at the same time it has enough space on the inside that you probably wear some thicker layers underneath like a fleece of some kind or some longer t-shirts and. A layer of that would make it even warmer last thing i will note is this. Inner pocket where my favorite feature this is a it's big enough my whole hand. Fits in here but you can also put the entire sweater in there and it will compress into about a nalgene sized area. Of space and all around i'd have to say. This is probably one like they were jackets and one of the ones i use the most throughout the winter not just autumn and spring months but actually use it in the winter and i live. In wisconsin so it does get quite cold but i'm on those extra cold days i do suggest layering it with an outer shell. I'm wearing the patagonia women's down sweater this is a very lightweight mid. Warmth piece that's excellent as a standalone jacket and chilly conditions but works really well layering it with. Other pieces it's filled with high. Quality 800 fill power goose down and it's patagonia is 100% traceable down. Which means that the down is ethically. Sourced from birds that were never live-plucked and never force-fed the material on the outside is 100%. Polyester rip stop you've got a dwr finish on that so you've got protection. From moisture protection from rain and. Snow a little bit it's certainly not a waterproof piece but that dwr finish. Really gives you some protection and it's excellent as well against wind the. Features of this jacket are really simple you've got a full length zipper in the front and down at the hem you've. Got an adjustable draw cord on either side that draw cord goes into both of. The hand warmer pockets here so two zippered hand warmer pockets and as you. Adjust that draw cord to hold in heat or if you're wearing a harness the extra. Length of that cord goes right into the pocket so it's not hanging down you've. Got a zippered pocket here in the chest. Pocket and it's a pretty big pocket you. Can store the whole jacket inside with that 800 fill compressible down and. Around the cuffs just simple stretchy cuffs there and a nicely baffled collar with that full. Length zipper my first impression of the. Fit and feel of this jacket was that it fits really well and it's a little bit of a relaxed fit I'm wearing the small now and i wear smalls and pretty much. Every other brand in their outerwear pieces and like i said i think it fits. Really well i can certainly see me being able to get layers underneath I'm just wearing a lightweight t-shirt right now for conditions like you know cold or fall evenings when you just want to throw an extra layer on when the temperatures drop i can see it being perfect for that but i can see myself. Wearing this pretty much all year-round and in the winter when the temperatures are really cold and you're using this as a mid layer putting a shell over top it's low profile enough for that but all. In all really comfortable really great fit it feels lightweight feels really airy on and i do want to mention it. Stuffs down into the chest pocket, so we'll take a look at how compressible that is I've got it packed down into the. Internal chest pocket here just so you. Can see how small and compact that is it's even got a little loop on there so. You can hang it on harness if you need to and all in all with the high quality. 800 fill down the compressibility of. Hey what's going on guys I'm back again i have another jacket I'm gonna review today in this very cold day it's about 50 degrees it is about a rain or sleet. Or something I'm north of new york, and we went 9 91. Degrees last week so 50 degrees today. For the high this weekend so it's really crazy weather today houses about to do something so i have the patagonia down. Sweater now this jacket gets a lot of attention online in public wherever you. Go someone's either talking about getting this jacket or the time around great these jackets are these jackets. Are awesome very lightweight 800 fill. Down patagonia is down is traceable so it's semi environmentally friendly as environmentally friendly as you can get with put it down jacket or jacket that's. Used in animal parts actually previously. Had one in green in a green color I'm. Sorry in a deep sea blue same color but interior was neon green this is the. Underwater blue i think it's called I'm gonna correct it down below in the description but it's a french red in. Tear it's very rare it's one of those armed limited editions that they had for. 2016 here so this is the blue color with. The french red interior as well as the. Zippers there and I'm 5 foot 8 inches. You guys all know me although the channel I'm 157 pounds i haven't gained. Weight or lost weight so this is a size medium it measures about 21 and a half. A water resistant dwr thing which is why. You have to wash these jackets with either powder detergent nick wax to keep. That water resistancy on the surface because once the dog gets wet the jacket is useless you're gonna get cold and it's not gonna keep you as warm it's gonna become heavier and soggy once that down gets wet so keep remember never use fabric softeners are liquid detergents to wash these coats and i. Like to put them in you can put them in a dryer with tennis balls to get the fluff back up but i prefer a line dry and then do you like the tumble kind of tumble dry after the most of the damage dried up with tennis balls like a tumble low heat trying just to get. That clock back up and it's the inside now this jacket does stuff into its pocket I'm gonna demonstrate that in a. Minute there's not much i could say about this like i said these things i think retail 230 dollars at patagonia stores but you can get one of these. Online from the year before or two seasons ago whether slightly use they're still new for under $100 so I'm gonna. Stuff this right into the pocket so you guys can see and that's kind of cool it's bright red. Becomes a bright red pillow so i like. These two-tone jackets because you know one side is blue at the inside is red so it looks completely different is not reversible you only wear this on one side look patagonia is a lot of the apparel now it's becoming reversible where you can wear stuff inside out but this is not one of those and easy stuff. Stuffs in their real easy this is the inside pocket is stuffed into like i said in my last video when i think the art area melty hoodie these stuffed pillows these stuff sack pillows become really great airplane companions if you're flying and you in coach and you. Have the regular standard seat you just want a nice for a neck pillow and you're good to go and that's it guys this is my catagonia. Down sweater these come in a bunch of colors prices range like i said under $100 to. $220 retail for this guy and awesome. Jacket definitely get one very warm you can put this on their like on it's very. Compressible when you wear it so that means you can put this on the raincoat or under like a business trench coat to keep yourself warm I've ever seen guys in my office wear these same jackets. Under like a sports jacket sweater i. Used to have this one in the older one i reviewed it in a couple videos back you could check that i was a purple i think was graphite navy color i got rid of it. The nylon i find don't last as long and this patagonia products after a couple. Of years like four to five years the 9 on stars to tyrion as well as cops they. Got a soiled and sort of shredded a. hey how's it going guys got another product review for you what you're looking at here is the patagonia down sweater just have it packed away it. Packs weight inside of its own inner compartment so in case you want to stow it away inside of your bag it compresses really tight actually this isn't actually even how big it can be you can even press compress it even more and squeeze inside of your bag so that way even if you're in a hot environment so. You're hiking or camping and you want a medium layer or outer layer to pull out this will always be handy doesn't take up a lot of room super lightweight and as you can see here there is a loop sewn in on the outside so you can hang it off a carabiner on the outside of your bag i personally would pack it inside just. Because i don't like things dangling on the outside but the option is there if you're okay with that let me check out the weight apologies for going back and forth between my laptop it weighs 349 grams which is. Twelve point three ounces so super lightweight and let me just open this guy up just give you an idea of what this looks like when it's fully unfurled so I'll just pull this out oh and by the. On the outside you see here there are two side pockets on either side that are also zipped up so you can use these to stow. Item securely the arms have elastic. Closures and the waist has a drawstring. Closure i would have preferred just an elastic sort of like the sleeves just because i don't like drawstring but this is fine some people don't care either way i actually when it comes to styling i prefer where the sleeve comes down plainly but if i know I'm going to be in a wet or windy environment i do prefer. The drawstring just because this will wrap it around your arm and keep windchill from going inside of and striking your skin the outer lining is. Made of a super light water-resistant. Nylon let's see the shell is 1.4 ounce. 22 10-year 100% all recycled polyester. Mini rip stop nylon with a dwr finish. And dwr is durable water repellent. Finish so that's a mouthful but basically it's a synthetic outer coating and the finish make sure that if you get water on moisture on this thing it's going to beat instead of soaked on top this will work well on light to medium. Amounts of moisture if you're going to be on a heavy rain port it will eventually soak in so if you're going to go in someplace with heavy rain i would recommend an outer coating on top of this like say a gore-tex but as a mid layer or an outer layer in lighter environments this works excellent the inner filling though is let's see if i. Can find it 800 fill power goose down now I'm more of a synthetic fan just for. The fact that with a synthetic say polyester you can just throw it in my washing machine but when it comes to bounce for ounce if you're comparing them for the same amount of weight nothing is going to compress more tightly and nothing is going to be warmer than views down it just is for one. Ounce of goose down versus one ounce of polyester the down will compress more tightly and the down is going to be warmer so it's a little bit more care if. You want to clean this you have to dry clean it but for performance wise this is going to be polyester any day so if that's what you guys are looking for you might want to go with the down jacket as well. Around the waist works it's not a dangling cord they did a really good design here on the side you got the drawstring and then it hooks on itself. On this hook on the inside so you're not going to have any dangling cords a lot of other brands will have the cord dangling on the outside and can be a pain but patagonia is pretty good with their designs comes in a variety of. Colors this is a bright red of when i go hiking i actually prefer brighter colors just because it will stand out more for safety reasons especially if I'm in an alpine environment if i break my leg if i fall this is going to stand out especially i travel a lot so if my gear. Gets mixed up with other people's this is going to stand out it's going to be easy for me to grab this is a pretty new. Item it retails for about $170 and. That's probably the only hit I'm going to give this item is the price patagonia items just are expensive you can't get. Around that however for what you pay for. And what you get they are quality i haven't had anybody who's bought a patagonia product and been disappointed with it this is one of those pieces of gear that you're going to be wearing every day especially in a colder environment and you're not going to regret that money that's spent because it is a quality build the design is excellent and their customer service is actually excellent also this is the shell is 100. Percent recycled patagonia has got this. Really good design philosophy about trying to be as eco-friendly as possible and you might want to read up on their website and learn more about them so that's my little brief mention of the.
