  • What's going on guys do you read tactical here and today I'm coming at you with another gear review today we're reviewing the cetus summit comfort light. Sleeping pad and this one right here is insulated so let's roll the intro. So some quick specs on this bad boy. Before we open it up and get it set up and show you how it works so this one. Right here is the i set the seat. Assignment comfort alot insulated pad you can get this from rei or back country. Calm and it runs about 169 95 for this. Pad they have different pads they've got. The comfort plus not insulated they got. The comfort lot not insulated you can. Get them in insulated the insulated does run a little bit more money versus the non insulated so depending on what. You're using it for you might be able to go with the non-insulated if you plan on. Using it during the winter then definitely get the insulated so I've. Taken down a couple of notes about this. They use what's called air sprung. Technology in this pad and basically. What it acts like a static springs these little air chambers, and they act like springs in a mattress and. So as you shift your body those springs. Or those air sprung cells they kind of. Move with your body so you're never touching the ground they also use this. Stuff called ex skin platinum and the purpose of it is to reflect radiant. Heat loss back to the user so that's. Built in here, and they also use a thermal insulation to prevent convective heat loss between your body and the. Ground so i can't really show you much. More with this stuff stack so let's get. It open and I'll show you how it works. All right. So the way this thing airs up is pretty cool they've got these two little tabs. You've got an in-flight tab and a deflate ab so on the inflate tab you. Flip it up to inflate it and you can do. That two different ways they sell a bag from sea2summit that you can fill with. Air and then you basically squeeze it. And it pushes the air into the sleeping pad that way you don't have to use your. Breath to fill it up or you can do it the way i do it and that's basically blow it up so what you do is you pull. This tab you can start the blow on. And as you can see it really doesn't. Take much to blow this thing you know alright, so she's all blown up you. Decided how much air that you want to put in this pad me i don't like to fill. It all the way up with air if you fill it up it there all the way i feel like it's too stiff the less air that i have. In here i mean i don't want it all the way flat but i like it a little bit loose that way one of my body weight gets on it distributes the air evenly and it makes it to me a lot more. Comfortable but it all depends on how you sleep if you like a softer mattress then of course you're not going to want as much air if you like a firm mattress at home then definitely fill this thing up with as much as you can get in it and you'll see it will be just like sleeping on a firm mattress so it's kind of what. You want to do really so let's get this. Think in the floor and I'll show you how. It works so what's really neat about. These tabs is if you open up the info. Tab there's an orange little tab right. Here on the inside and you can depress that and let out air so that you can get. The pad to the comfort that you want it so if you decide that you feel too much. Air up into it and you don't want to. Deflate it all the way but you just want to deflate a little bit of it to get it to the comfort level that you want you just push on that little tab and it will slowly deflate until you get it to where you want it so these are the air sprung. Cells that i was talking about here and. Right here where you see this little tab on the other side of this tab you've got. A side that looks like this what this. Does is you don't have that going all the way through so you don't have these little spots where there's no air you've. Got air chambers all the way across no. Matter where it is because if there's a tab here there's an air sprung cell on the other side if there is an air sprung. Cell here there's that little tab on the. Other side so that helps with distributing the air properly to help you get a better night's rest all right so let's play on it and give a. Test run. What's cool about this is you don't always have to just lie on your back if you're a side sleeper it's comfortable on your side as well. It is a bit noisy when you're moving. Around but it's not as noisy as some of. The other pads out there it's actually a. Lot less noisy than some of the other. Pads I've owned so if you're looking for. A pet that's not as noisy then you might. Go with something a little bit different. Then this but honestly once you've got your sleeping pad down got your sleeping. Bag or your over quilt or whatever you're using and you lay down for the. Night and you stop moving don't even. Notice it so the only complaint that i. Would have about mine and it has nothing to do with the actual product itself is. Is I'm six-two so I'm a tall guy the. Regular sized sleeping pad although it. Does work i probably should went with the large so if you're a bigger guy i. Definitely would recommend going on with the largest i can pad versus the regular because your feet. Start to hang off, and then they're on the ground and what gets cold first feet. And then your whole body is cold so. Definitely if you are a bigger guy go with the larger version pay the couple. Of extra bucks and get it because i went cheap thought I'll just get the regular one with a large aren't that great. Product so guys that's all i got for you. Today if you are looking for a new sleeping pad to take out on the trail definitely go check out see the summit's latest version of their sleeping pads. They've got a bunch of different options so take a look at them online at rei or. Backcountry comm like i said they're one. 69.95 for this version right here they do have some cheaper versions, and they have some more pizza versions it just depends on what you're looking for so if you liked. This video make sure to like comment and. Subscribe until next time stay tactical.

The North Face Snow Leopard Sleeping Bag: 5 Degree Synthetic - Women's

Much like the alpine cat it's named after, The North Face Women's 5 Degree Synthetic Snow Leopard Sleeping Bag is adeptly suited for the cold, wind-swept environments of snowy summits and frigid northerly locations. Cyclone construction wraps continuous-filament and cut-staple fibers around the bag for thermal efficiency and superior loft. Since it uses synthetic HeatseekerPro instead of down insulation, the Snow Leopard is an excellent choice for camping in moisture-laden climates where down insulation is susceptible to losing its lofting performance.

There's a fitted hood for maximum warmth, mated to a draft collar that prevents precious heat from escaping into bone-chilling evening air. Pad loops attach to your sleeping pad, preventing migration during overnight movements. The vaulted footbox offers ample room for stretching out in cozy comfort. As a space-saving bonus, the included compression sack is handy on backpacking trips where minimizing overall bulk is essential.

  • Mummy-style sleeping bag for cold-weather camping
  • Heatseeker Pro insulates even while wet
  • Cyclone construction for improved loft
  • Women-specific design targets key areas for warmth
  • Offset quilted bottom avoids cold spots
  • Retaining straps attach the bag to your pad
  • Included compression sack saves space for backpacking

Here to review the north face snow leopard sleeping bag it's a mummy sleeping bag with a hood to keep your head nice and warm it's packed full of north faces climate shield synthetic insulation so it's warm it's light it. Dries easily and it's breathable the snow leopard is equipped with a draft collar which has a pull string on the. Side opposite the zipper the temperature. Rating is minus 18 degrees Celsius on my latest trip i believe the lowest temperature we experienced was minus 5 to minus 10 degrees Celsius and i was still very warm i had the bottom part of the zipper open to help ventilate my legs my overall. Impression of the sleeping bag was positive i found it to be warm comfortable and light enough to pack did. Have a few issues with the zipper it has a tendency to get caught as you're zipping around sipping however it is. Easily unstuck I'll admit it does take a. Bit of effort to get the snow leopard into its carrying bag but it does compress down to approximately 11 inches by 20 inches which is more than enough space for the rest of your gear for your truck this has been my product review. So one of the most important items in. Camping gear that you need is your. Sleeping bag absolutely let me tell you. What i know what it's like to be miserable without one what do we mean by that well let's take a look morning yes he slept for an hour today. Good morning kelsey i didn't pay more. Than two hours of sleep i think i didn't. Miss a little bit it's about 3 a.m. and. I'm, and she's what do you want me to do. Just we're gonna spoon. 20 minutes later i finally stop stirring, but she was chu shivering dude, so we were both like really rough night. For us it was pretty terrible first time. In yellowstone camping my first 70s gone camping and i was absolutely miserable so let me tell you what when. This sleeping bag came around the next year i was happy. Yeah i think it was a little bit different it was a entirely so these. Sleeping bags retail for about 100 to 180 and i know that may seem a little. Pricey for a sleeping bag but it is a hundred and twenty-seven percent worth it and I've had mine for going on three. Years now, and we use them a lot obviously they come in immense, and they. Come in a women's the men's i have a 35. They also have a 20 degree and the. Women's is a 35, and they also have a 20. Degree the men's the 20 degree comes in. A nice blue and i think it's like a great spy rubber quickly and the women's. Is more of what you say kind of look good turquoise like a darker blue yeah. It's like a darker blue also a gray. And obviously these are orange women's. Actually has a updated one called the. Women's north face cat's meow which is. Literally pretty much the newer version of the aleutian for the women's side the guy still does the men's solution i think the cat's meow sounds a little bit better to them than solution exactly. The same features as this sleeping bags different color just different color and a different this is all personal preference depending on what degree you want some people like higher degrees some people like lower i should like the higher degree because i get extremely hot really fast i personally like. Lower degree as in the 20 because i get. Cooled very easily so the 20 degree is perfect for me because i don't have to freeze yeah and the only difference pretty much is how thick it's gonna be alright guys, so we're gonna tell you a little bit about the different features of the sleeping bag so first feature is. These are mummy style sleeping bags what. Does that mean they do exactly that. That your head the whole purpose of it is to have as little exposure for air to come in to freeze you out, so we as well. Have these little things that actually tighten around your head yes right by your head if you tighten so it's nice. And close but this keeps it in a nice cocoon shape so you feel all good and snuggly this is a 30% down synthetic and. They call it the heat seeker eco. Synthetic pretty much what that means is it's gonna stay lightweight but it's gonna keep you warm all the sleeping bags have double zipper on each side one. Into one that's on the men's and women's but there is a difference there is a. Short zipper which is on the left side for me and then a long zipper which is on the right side for me and that's just your preference you can get the different zippers you get opposite basically the purpose of the zippers on both side is to give you that feel that you're at home in bed so basically you. Could zip it up all the way keep all the heat in or you could unzip it to about to this point where it goes about like right underneath there and then zip it on zip. It down on the other side and then you can fold it down so it kind of gives you that like you're under the covers kind of feel so that's the purpose of that and it's really nice to have just kind. Of feel like you can breathe a little bit more too but sometimes a little too snug absolutely depending on what season these are a three season sleeping bag. That is another feature these are not meant for deep winter you know like. Mount everest you're not gonna stay warm in those okay these are meant for spring summer fall you can pretty much get away with any trip that you go on we have done these in 10,000 feet in 20 degrees and stayed completely warm oh these zipper goes all the way around too almost. Basically the other side of the sleeping bag so what's great about the foot section is that it kinda has this square. Shape at the bottom so that it lays flat so you don't have like just yeah you. Don't have access room for it flop all over the place when you're sleeping it's gonna stay completely center so what's great is you can unzip it and give yourself so a little bit of breathing room for your feet and that is a great feature that's a great feature for summer camping when you still want to feel snugly but you kind of feel like. You're getting in a hotbox usually just pop the feet open and you're good other. Think you can zip it like we said all the way and just lay it flats and you can. Literally have it as a blanket we have done that multiple times so one of my. The Biggest dislikes for my bag is i know. Exactly it is so warm and that's not the. Dislike the dislike is because it's the. Lower temperature sleeping bag so the. 20-degree one it's thicker so it does. Not compact easy and that is the biggest. Think i do not like about this thinking value i have to stuff it stuffs. That it takes two people with mine yes and you've got it with one to start. Weight where i grow good on my own but it is that i mean i love this sleeping. Bag but i hate that part am i just like I'm just limited on how cold i can put. Myself back country situations so be it only. Being 35 degrees i do get warm a lot but i can only go so far before i get fruits for me just realizing that it is limited in that. Since that i can't push the boundaries all the way to really do some winter camping that that will really so if you're looking for some car camping or just some local camping i would totally recommend this big sleeping bag is great. For if you want to go to yellowstone and. You just stay at a campsite and you pull your car right up tetons she's done some. Backcountry with it just know because it's bigger it's gonna take up a little bit more room in your back yeah i would totally recommend this one for that but if you're looking for back country camping i would recommend a smaller one. But the problem is you're going deep. Into the mountain your argument just depends on the time of year like this you can get away with probably about sixty seventy percent of a year but if. You're getting into higher elevation it's gonna be cold 35 degrees they can cut it for you so you got to go to 20 thank you guys so much for checking out. By doing away with the zipper altogether, Sierra Designs not only reduces the weight of this bag, but makes a more comfortable sleeping experience. As the name implies, an incorporated comforter mimics the delicious feeling of being at home in bed. Tuck that blanket around your neck, or toss it down when the sun heats your tent up in the morning. If it gets pretty toasty, but you're insistent on sleeping in, you can also pop the foot vent open for an extra draft.

You tend to toss and turn at night, and you like to roll over a dozen times before falling asleep. Thanks to a sleeve for your sleeping pad, you can totally get away with that now. Roll your heart away, and never fear waking up on the cold, rocky ground again. Also, if the temperatures dip below freezing, you can toggle the comforter to the sidewalls, tuck your arms into the insulated sleeves, and cinch the hood down for that cozy mummy bag feel that keeps you warm and feeling safe.

  • This unique and innovative sleep system is the sierra designs backcountry bed. Duo sin 1.5 sleeping bag this is a. Double wide two-person sleeping bag that. Has a lot of features a very unique. Construction that's going to help you be very comfortable in the backcountry first thing that stands out to me here. Is you've got your sierra designs backcountry bed style so this is a. Zipper this sleeping bag you've got a really broad opening here in the front. Of the bag and although you would think. With a traditional sleeping bag that long zipper that runs up and down is easy to get in and out of this open construction is really easy to crawl in. And out of the sleeping bag you've got. An integrative sewn in blanket here in. The top i've got it folded over here. Just to show the size but this is. Stitched in half way into the sleeping. Bag and so you've got all of this room up top to use this as a blanket. You've got integrated sleeves here so. You can bring this around tuck this around your body and use it almost like a blanket that you would use at home so it's very comfortable in that way for. The warmest of nights you can take this tuck it away so that you have a lot of. Breathability and it's just a very very. Comfortable sleep system the bottom of. This bag has a traditional foot box so. You do have warmth around your feet. You've got a really nice baffled foot box down here at the bottom and as you can see we've got two sleeping pads here. Underneath of the backcountry bed now. This is a double wide it's meant for two people and this is going to fit up to someone who's six feet tall you've got a. Lot of girth and a lot of movement in. Here so it's a great option to take into. The backcountry it packs down pretty small smaller than you you would pack down two separate sleeping bags but with the foot box and. With the construction here you can slide. In two sleeping pads to the integrated. Sleeve here in the top so you've got a lot of movement around your feet you can. Actually take your feet out of the sleeve down here and that is able to. Vent and really cool you off on warmer nights the sleeping pads i have here are. Both 20 inches wide but you can use. Either 20 or 25 inch wide sleeping pads. The integrated sleeve that's on the top. Half of this bag is actually expandable. So i have it set on the smaller setting. But there's little toggles on there where you can expand that sleeve out to be a little bit wider so you can have wider sleeping pads do you want to. Mention that the bottom of this sleeping. Bag is not insulated so you do need to. Made it with a sleeping pad but you do have almost like a sheet right here. Underneath of you so you're not coming into contact directly with the sleeping pad you have a really comfortable material right here between you and the sleeping pad and as we move up the. Backcountry bed there is not a. Traditional hood that you would expect on a mummy sleeping bag but you do have a hood designed in the top so on the. Coldest of nights when you're coming. Close to that temperature rating for these sleeping bag you can really bring up that blanket tuck it around your head. And around your neck and use that hood. In the top to really batten everything down and to hold in your heat so you can. Use this in a variety of different ways and it's just very comfortable it feels. More like sleeping in your bed at home where you have your sleeping or you have. Your blanket around you and. You have the ability to have your feet out and really vent in the bag this bag. Is insulated with synthetic material and what i like about synthetics is that. When you're in humid or damp conditions. Or this bag were to become wet it's. Gonna dry out really quickly and it also is going to maintain its thermal efficiency even when wet so it performs. Better than down in that way and the. Synthetic insulation they're using here. Is still very compressible compact this. Bag weighs in right around four pounds four ounces so again that's for two people if you think about cutting that. Weight in half you've got a really great back packable option here you can take this into the backcountry the materials. This top material is a durable nylon. Ripstop fabric and that is also going to. Resist moisture so it's going to keep moisture from going into the bag the. Material on the inside of the bag is lighter weight and it's a little bit softer so you have a soft next to skin feel it's really comfortable there and this bag is rated for 1.5 seasons it. Doesn't have a true en rating or a. Specific temperature rating but in. Warmer weather around maybe around 50. Degrees in summer late summer into fall. Or late spring into summer it would be a. Bag that's meant for warmer weather sierra designs does include a stuff sack. For this backcountry bed and just to. Show the size if you pack it down in here and cinch it down it's definitely. The same size or smaller than two separate sleeping bags and i'm just a. Big fan of this style it's easier to use. In my opinion than trying to set two sleeping bags together and with the. Integrated sleeping pad sleeve that. Uninsulated bottom really makes this sleep system a little bit lighter weight a little bit more packable and it's just. A unique innovative way for couples to. Sleep in the backcountry it is the sierra designs backcountry bed duo sin 1.5 sleeping system. You.
