Nathan VaporHowe 12L Hydration Vest - Women's
This isn't your first ultra. You've gotten past the "but why"'s you receive from strangers, as well as the grueling training schedule, so your upcoming 50-miler inspires excitement, not dread. If your hydration system is lacking in a few areas, upgrade to the Nathan VaporHowe Hydration Vest to make sure the midsummer sun and dry air don't get in the way of your runner's high now, and when you run that 100-miler next summer.
As its name suggests, the VaporHowe was designed in partnership with a certain professional ultrarunner. Whether you're familiar with Howe or not, know that she made sure the breathable vest came with a tailored, close fit that limits bouncing at all costs. You're no stranger to the loss of sanity a jostling, sloshing hydration pack can bring as the miles stretch on, and Nathan took fit seriously with the VaporHowe. It holds its plump 1.8-liter bladder firmly in the rear portion of the vest, ensuring you stay hydrated on race day when temperatures soar and aid stations are miles apart.
So the for later vapor how is a pact. That i used when i want to be light and fast and i use it in 50k 50-mile races. It's got the bottles on the front, so they're easy to fill up in a race where. You've got an aid station every couple miles it's nice and light so it's not. Overkill for a 50k so anything from an. Hour to two hours I'm using for later. Pack and i usually carry with me water. In both of the bottles a couple gels and then usually some dog treats for my dog and you know i can comfortably fit all of that and it still feels really light almost like i don't have anything on so. I plan on using the 12 liter vapor howl. And a lot of my longer races this season. Particularly utmb ultra-trail du mont. Blanc is a race in xi amen a france and. It's a hundred miles and they require. You to carry quite a bit of gear you know just because you're out in the mountains literally all day and all. Night the 12th liter pack comfortably holds all the gear i need and i plan. To use it for that race and in the training runs leading up to that race as well so one of my favorite things about the 12 liter pack is its ability to. Carry a lot of gear yet it's still low-profile you know you have that ability to take a lot with you but you also have the ability for the pack to stay light.

It's what the osprey skimmer 30 looks. Like i have it packed a little bit with some stuff so you can get a little view of what it looks like here are the compression straps on the side very. Useful right here when you have this stuffed with things the compression straps snaps into place and pull it and. One thing that's really interesting about the bottom compression strap is. There is no clip it actually just loosens up like this you see that and. You can allow more things in their put your things in there and then just pull on this strap like that and it tightens up so i like the bottom part of the compression straps and the same thing goes on the other side before i go into. The pockets i just want to let you guys see what it looks like on the shoulder straps as well as you can keep things down in here i keep things down in this pocket quite often on my osprey packs. Very handy this one right here is used for a hydro pack or water pack that you. Can pack in there and it comes to the tube took that out because i don't really use it i just use water bottle but here are the shoulder straps right here i tighten this up to bring it. Closer a little bit closer to the body you can use those and then there's a. Tress strap as you can see right here and this chest strap what's unique about. It is you can slide it up and down you can slide it up and down its kind of hard to do like with it out at having it on and adjust it you know depending on. Where your chest is located alright and then at the bottom is the belt strap and. It comes with pockets these pockets you. Can actually keep things in okay they're pretty handy right down there alright so let's go to the pockets as you can see they have to water pockets one on that side and another one on that. Side and then there's actually this. Isn't really a pool it is a pocket but it's an exterior i put things like a down jacket in there and then close it up and then right here is the main outer pocket you can keep a. Lot of things down in here and don't. Forget this osprey does this wonderful thing where you can clip your keys on here so when you travel and come back you know where your keys are located has several individual pockets in there. As well as a smaller pocket for keeping. Some valuable things i want to keep too. Many valuable things, and they are kind of like to keep it in the main compartment and before we get into the. Main department we have a top compartment right here there's a lot of pockets a lot of places to separate things you can put some things in there and I'm going to open up the main compartment main compartments pretty large i actually have my hydro pack in. There just did that for the video camel pack you can keep some things not much in here there's no compression straps with inside the main compartment which is lacking i kind of liked compression. Straps within the main compartment that's just my own personal providence they have them on the outside which is probably good enough but I'm kind of picky when it comes to compression straps okay let me know if you have any questions thanks a lot for watching yeah. Osprey skimmer 30.
