Around both sides and just pull out. And it tightens dramatically keeps all. The air from coming out keeps the heat in so i got this jacket to be my main. Shell for this winter like i said and underneath i do have my puffy jacket. Which you can see it and there's still plenty of room to actually put some more. Layers underneath this jacket it very. Excited to use this motor time especially you can pull these tie it cinches around the waist keeps the heat inside keeps me warm keeps me dry okay. I'm probably gonna even use this jacket. Snowboarding honestly i do you have. Another insulated jacket. But this one's definitely more waterproof nice the wintertime you just. Keep your snowboard goggles in here. Hey guys i'm off to sydney hoyt today we're going to be taking a look at the mountain hardwear truck stone activity. Pants so let's take a closer look now shall we i'm not going to call them pants on all the houses because that's what they are anyway these are a great trouser especially if you're going to be doing subscribe and some climbing or even just generally going along the hills for a nice long weekend let's go through some of the tech now shall we so first thing that i'm going to show you is this belt system here is a really nice bolt system or should we say quick-release system so it only works on the one side but once obviously you've got your trousers on quite literally pull that up clip that in and hey presto let's go hey presto so. That looks in the chou's now you might say that's a bit weird that it all does it on one side but as i said that's just gonna pull in nicely around your hips and it's gonna be and it's gonna fit you just like a normal belt does and but again it's just quite literally a nice pull system click down and jobs are good and it's actually quicker then you know your normal belt as i said which is a really nice feature to say especially we're gonna be doing a bit of scrambling running and you kind of just want that freedom when you know that adjustment but you know you you're one of your hands is taking what if we don't have time to play around with a buckle nice quick pull system anyway you've got two pockets on the hips they're nice. Spacious and secure you've got mesh lining on the inside so it is nice and breathable nice and spacious and as i said whatever you pop in there zips up and then you know it's basically. Safe and secure on the inside what you'll notice when we come down to the knee sections they do have an ergonomic fit to it so it's not just a traditional. Straight down trouser there yeah they aren't slightly fitted as i said this means it's going to move with you a lot easier so say if you're going to be doing a bit of scrambling a bit of climbing just gives you a little bit more freedom well you will notice as well on the actual finish of the trouser it almost has a soft shell quality as well so good at you know keeping should we say some of the wind chill out as well as you know any light rain as well for repellency obviously not water a water resistant or water repellent but they will do the job in lights outlets so let's take a look at the back system mainly all the tech is mainly at the. Front and so the actual back system itself is pretty standard affair you know it's just kind of just got your general back what you will notice is obviously the bins on and these for the ergonomic fit i mean that's pretty much it what i will also show you as well is this side pocket this well while we're here gillian mesh lined as well and it's an ideal size for you know you wallet your keys any other bits and bobs that you know you don't want to keep in net and say this trouser is amazing as i say. Down in the pant is a women's act wear pant made for hiking walking or simply hanging out from the very first time i put these pants on i knew they would become one of my favorites i can confidently say they are the most comfortable pants that i own the material is a perfect combination of stretchy and structured which is what allows you to use these pants for just about any physical activity without feeling restricted typically when i think of a stretchy material i think clingy like the bathing suit material that sticks in all the wrong places this is not the case with the. Dynamap and these pants are lightweight but there is still enough structure and thickness to the material that it even allows for pockets to carry any of your belongings another feature that adds to. The comfort of these pants is the thick elastic waistband you don't have to worry about zippers and buttons that may irritate you during a long hike especially when carrying a backpack. There's also some versatility and how you want to wear the pan there's a drawstring at the bottom so that you can cinch them up apart from having a different look to the pant i found this most useful on duty mornings when you don't want the bottom of your pants to get wet that being said the material is water-resistant if you do happen to get caught in wet conditions i found this most effective and. It has a little bit more of that smooth touch this is a synthetic jacket so the. Difference between synthetic and down you know is that down loses a lot of its. Insulation properties when wet this is not going to affect this jacket though because it's a synthetic so i am 6-3 185. Pounds and this is a size large it fits. Terrific you know patagonia sometimes has a little bit of a sizing issue just and then i find that some of their clothing can be a little bit baggy r in. The waist area the top has a zipper garage so it stopped any chafing against your neck you have to external hand warmer pockets and to external chest. Pockets i love them both some of the cons about this jacket and there aren't many is the cuffs as you can see when i. Hang my hand at my side there's a little. Bit of bunching of the fabric at the cuffs now there is an update to this. Hey guys it's jimmy today i'm going to be bringing you a comprehensive review of the nano air jacket by patagonia patagonia nano air is a synthetic active. Layer that remains relatively warm but keeps you incredibly dry and comfortable. As you can see this is the non hooded. Version although there is also a hooded. Version as well the synthetic jacket is made from patagonia's full-range insulation which is comparable but not quite as warm as the primaloft gold inside patagonia's nano puff jacket the. Full range insulation has two advantages over such synthetics as mechanical. Stretch and it is very breathable unlike the nano puff which performs best. As a mid layer the nano air excels as an active outer layer for cool temperatures this is primarily due to the breathability of this jacket which has an air permeability rating of 40 cfm which means 40 cubic feet of air can pass through a square foot of fabric according to the astm e 737 standard i. Read an independent test report that suggests this air permeability figure is upwards of 170 cfm regardless of the lab. Measured air permeability in practice. Comfortable jacket i've ever worn the mechanical stretch is fantastic and gives me full range of motion and the breathability of the jacket helps keep me dry even when i do bursts of intense effort the only way that it could be more comfortable is if it weighs half as much number three build quality no. Stitches or seams have come undone yet after eight months of considerable wear which is a first for me i suspect that. The stretching helps disperse forces that would otherwise be concentrated at the seams number four compressibility. It's not as good as a light high fill. One is durability although the outer material manages to avoid snagging on anything it is starting to fill in some of the higher wear areas like the shoulders and waist you know areas that my backpack will rub against for the last eight months is good my go-to jacket for fall and winter backpacking trips and as a casual jacket in town i feel as though i've put the jacket through more and this time than the average person would also the jacket. Is pilling inside the hand pockets sometimes my fingers get a little dry around the fingernails and this catches on the soft fabric which is the same material as the inside lining number two. Is breathability breathability is a double-edged sword it's great when you're sweaty but when it's very windy the breathability of this jacket may be undesirable in that scenario you'll want to throw a windbreaker over this jacket i found that the nanowire jacket performs at its best in cold temperatures with low to moderate winds it's hard to define an. Exact temperature range for this jacket but for me the nano air by itself was. Comfortable for about 40 fahrenheit down to 15 fahrenheit which is 5 celsius down to minus 10 celsius and this was during periods of moderate exertion based on this review. Of the nano air you may be wondering whether you could achieve similar performance with just a fleece or perhaps a fleas paired with a windbreaker i think you can but it will. Weigh a bit more on the plus side you get layering versatility out of the fleece and windbreaker combo and not to mention the assortment of fleeces and windbreakers available on the market. Cfm so maybe that's cubic feet per meter. I'm not quite sure but it's 60 grams per. Mole off insulation like most of their. Nano puff hoodies i like the ones. Without a hood super comfortable this is. A medium for size I'm about 510 and a. Half and 165 pounds a couple jat a. Couple pockets on the jacket you as well. Have a nice one up here it's covered. With a dwr water-resistant spray and if. You're wondering how functional that is I've had this coat for about a month and. You can actually just see it beat off so. Foam is meant to keep your legs fresher longer you're on the trail all day long. Giving you that great energy return so. That you can run that whole time so it's. That white part all through that mid sole. The platform here is a six millimeter. Drop so you have twenty-three and a half millimeters seventeen and a half millimeters from the heel to the forefoot so it's a pretty flat shoe they. Give you a natural foot strike while giving you just a little bit of drop there i really like the combination of. Materials in the upper part of the shoe they give a lot of durability so for. That runner who wants a shoe it's going to last a long time the runner who's not. Looking for an ultra lightweight trail running shoe but once something that's going to be durable this is going to hold up to a lot of use and abuse you've got overlays here at the welded. Construction so you can see this nice. Toe cap right here in the front gives you plenty of protection from rocks they have overlays that kind of go. Through the rest of the shoe and then. Back here in the heel area when you snug these shoes down it really snugs your heel into the back this tends to be an. Area of the shoe right here in the front and here on the back, and they feel that wears out quickly especially on my running shoes and so that's something i look for is a lot of durability in those key areas where you don't need as much. Durability they have lots of meshes so. Your foot is going to breathe something i really noticed about the tongue of these shoes you do have an e v a foam. Tongue so that really adapts to your foot and it is well padded but it's nice. And lightweight and have all kinds of breath ability there on that tongue when. You cinch down the laces the eyelets here kind of line up with a little bit. Of overlays there so it really cradles your foot it's a little bit of a stretchy material so it definitely cradles your foot to give a really nice and snug fit now you do have a sock. Liner in here that's removable it's. Really lightweight so if you want to remove it and use your own insole you can certainly do that but this will go a. Long way just for wicking and to give you a little bit of extra cushioning in the shoe weighing in under 10 ounces per. Shoe you have a great balance of durability traction protection and.
