What’s up everyone Utah mountain man here again. And today another knife review. This is the cold steel of micro recon. One tanto point blade man I’m excited to show. You guys this knife um. This is my everyday carry knife. When things I look for when I’m looking for an everyday carry knife its small lightweight but very durable. This knife has all so let’s get in. Some specs has a blade length of 2 inches. It has a closed length of 2. And 3/8 inches and the overall length is 4. And 3/8 inches the overall weight is only 1 point 1 ounce so. This thing is really like it’s a smaller knife. And but really lightweight very durable so the steel itself is made out of a Japanese aus 8 stainless steel so it’s really durable quality steel it’s a little bit harder so it’s gonna keep its edge a little bit longer. It is also very easy to resharpen which. It does have a black tough X coating so. This helps to keep it a little bit the steel a little. More rust resistant. It also helps when you’re cutting through different things helps.

It cut through a little bit. More smoothly the one downside to. This tough X coating is. You can see here it does start to wear off just a little bit so with use it’s good the little black tough X coating is gonna start to come off just a little bit there. It does have a thumb stud. That is can be reversed to. Either side so on this side you’ve got the thumb stud. And then you can reverse. And do use the other side. This other side is just a little shorter so let’s talk not technically the thumb stud part but. You can still use that to flick. It open as well it also comes with a g10 styled handle so it’s a plastic handle but.

It has made out of grybyx so it’s a tough strong plastic never had a problem with. This as my everyday carry in. It very durable quality it’s just not true g10 looks like g10 but. It made out curved X instead. It does also have a comes with a keychain ring on so. You could put like a lanyard on. It could add this to your keyring or. You could do as this around I’ll put. It on a chain and carry. It around my neck is my everyday carry role lightweight easy to carry. That way and finally. It does come with uh. It comes with a famous triad lock locking mechanism walk back so just locks right into place real strong secure no blade wobble.

These triad lock competing mechanisms are just absolutely amazing your juggernaut it’s like. This little knife it’s small only has overall length of four inches but. It can hold a weight of over a hundred pounds just on the locking mechanism which is absolutely insane. Idon’t know if there’s. Any other knives out there like. This so absolutely great knife on the handle itself as. You can see there’s definitely little small. You get about two to three fingers on there but. It is kind of perfect. You can really just maneuver. This knife get into small places great for everyday carry doesn’t get not too heavy doesn’t get too big not in the way absolutely love. This knife so yeah I definitely recommend going out.

And getting this knife. It only sells for about twenty dollars. And relatively cheap. And absolutely really good quality for what you get thanks. Everyone for watching this video review. You enjoyed you did please subscribe down below. Because I’m come out with. More remember life is good. When your knife is good. This knife is very good thanks guys.

Hey guys another video for you today. This is gonna be on a new little knife. Ipicked up not too long ago obviously as. You guys can see this is the cold steel micro recon. This particular one’s got the spear point blade. Now a little bit of a philosophy behind. This knife I just like. You guys like a lot of. You guys on YouTube. And then the gun and knife community. Iend up carrying a small little backup blade basically. These plates are good for just everyday tasks like opening up packages boxes. And things like that also in certain situations. You might not want to bring out a bigger blade maybe you’re in a crowded place. Something like something this size is obviously gonna be less conspicuous it’s not going to attract as much attention so. You know obviously as. You guys have seen in my previous videos normally my secondary little EDC blade would be the Spyderco ladybug great alternative for. You know this particular. One it’s got the coyote tan scales. And then the h1 steel blade. It works great nice point. You know it’s very sharp. And for the most part it’s its been part of my ADC for the past couple years. And it’s its definitely. You know comes in handy but. You know just like anything else. Idid want to try something else so. When Cold Steel released the micro recon. Ipicked it up just to see.

You know how good it compared. And things like I was pretty happy so let. You a little bit this is obviously the box small little box. Ido want to show you guys basically inside the box. You don’t get anything else. You just get the packaging mine did bring a small split ring I’ll show. You guys here because obviously. This would fall into. What a lot of people would consider a key chain ninth so obviously with. This little split ring you just add. It on to the land hole. You can actually hang. It onto your key chains. Iprefer not to carry my knife. That way I just kind of drop. Either into my pocket. If I’m wearing jeans. Something like it goes into. That fifth coin pocket. And that’s it resides until. It so a couple specs on. This again this is the. One with the spear point. You do get a two-inch blade so it’s its well enough for any everyday tasks.

You might need it for it does have. That coating on you find on a lot of the cold steel blades the overall length of the neck itself is 4. And 3/8 inches so obviously. You know it’s a little knife. It comes in at one point. One ounce so definitely very light obviously just like the ladybug. It does not have a pocket clip so. This would be you know strictly in the pocket knife. And then it does have your lanyard hole there. Now with the ladybug. Idid find that adding the liner to. It definitely gave than enough. More of a grip I needed just. Icould only get maybe a two-inch grip on the knife itself with the Recon. Idid find that that lanyard was. You know obviously not. That necessary just. You guys can see here. Ido get a three finger grip on. It seems very secure the other thing. Idid find is because of the size of the knife in comparison to the ladybug which has the spider coal-hole since. These does have the dual thumb studs it’s a little bit easier to open then the ladybug is sometimes.

That lanyard on the ladybug does help with the grip in order to go ahead. And open it but with the micro recon. Idon’t think it’s its. That necessary but you know I’m still kind of testing it out so. Iwill see you know. If I’m gonna need now the texturing on the handle is really nice. You definitely get good grip on. It does have you know the little machining on the back right here there’s definitely no jimping which is. One thing I did find. Ikind of liked more on the ladybug which is to jimping on the thumb ramp. It has but for the most part again since. This is just a knife to kind of cut strings. And open up boxes open up ladders. And things like that it’s not gonna be. You know that heavier for you so. You know I don’t really miss the other chipping on there. Another thing I did find is so. You guys can see I don’t know. You can tell them to don’t focus on. You get a little bit of a gap right here from the blade.

Idon’t know that there’s a particular purpose for. That but you know it is there. It hasn’t hindered anything but. You know that’s just. One thing to point out. And then the other thing is right in the top right here. This isn’t focusing let. Me try to focus again there. We go right on the top right here. You see the back of the blade actually sticks up from the actual handles again. It hasn’t hindered any way but obviously. Ido want to note you guys gonna see. It is happening now with. You also get the pivot screw. Where you’re able to actually tighten. Or loosen it depending on what you want but obviously. This came very tight as a lot of cold Steel’s do. And there’s no blade play up. Or right now with some of the ladybugs depending on which model. You do get they are pin construction so you’re not able to do. That so that’s one thing. Ireally did like about the micro recon. They do offer a tanto version of. This as well so you guys like. That look better.

Or it’s a little bit better for you guys then. You know you’re pretty much gonna be able to find. That as well now obviously by way of comparison let. You with the ladybug here. One next to the other so as. You guys can see they’re pretty much very similar in size. Now the main difference is with the ladybug. They do have different options in the blade steel. You know you can get like. One it’s h1 or vg-10 so with the micro recon. You know they’re all going to be. All sate so obviously. If depending on you know. What your preference is. You know keep that in mind alright so there. You go next to the ladybug so for the. Most part they’re gonna be pretty much similar in size. And again the main difference is going to be your blade shape pretty similar as far as the width as well.

Idid want to bring one. More in way of comparison. This is the standard recon. On a lot of you guys are familiar with. It just so you guys can see the main difference from the standard recon to the micro recon so obviously huge difference there the uh there were standard recon. More of a large blade but obviously. You know I’ll put all the way up to the front the micro recon. One is almost just the size of the blade of the Recon. One itself so there. Ithought that was pretty nice to see obviously the width of the blade it’s gonna be a lot different but. You know you do like the look. And feel of the standard recon. And I’m pretty sure you’ll like the look. And feel of the micro recon. One so there this is the micro recon. One from cold steel let. You guys have any questions alright thanks.

Everybody mr pork chop boy here. Ihave a knife review for you today obviously. This is a small knife okay so. This out of the box here. You can see it is a very small knife. We just go over the box here. You look here on the box. This is a triad lock. Idid my unboxing of. This knife it was a lock back but it’s a triad lock so. That means this knife has a very good locking mechanism on there. You look right here. This is a micro freak on. You can see that cold steel micro recon. One okay so now let’s get into the review oh. You can really see you can only fit two fingers on there. Ihave pretty big hands but. You can still only fit two fingers on there comfortably. You can try to squeeze in a third there but then. You have this groove right there. That kind of jams into your middle finger so. Ibasically just hold. It is fairly sharp so. This is out of the box sharpness there are no serrations on. This blade this is a tanto point blade so it’s pretty sharp but again. This is a very small knife so. This is would be a really good backup knife. You didn’t have for some reason. You couldn’t get to your main blade but. This would be a really good backup blade. It has like a black coating on the blade so here. That the handles is kind of like a g10 material a little grippy. And on the blade you can see there. It says recon one side. And cold steel on the other so. You are holding this you’d only fit two fingers on there isn’t. Any real comfortable way of putting a third finger. Because then it’ll kind of like jam up your finger there but tonight’s little blade.

It comes with a keyring you can put. This on your keys you can hang a lanyard off of. They also give you a nice little lanyard hole. You might be able to squeeze 550 para cord through there. Idid the unboxing I said. This is a lock back but it’s a triad lock. This is on box triad lock. And closes pretty well. Ipersonally I would not carry. This on my keys I don’t want. It to accidentally open. And stab I personally would not carry. This on my keys but on a lanyard. And throw it in my pocket. Because there’s no pocket clip. Iwould actually use. Most of the time I do carry a backup blade sometimes it’s the Victorinox recruit sometimes it’s the case caliber knife which. Ireally like it a lot before view coming on. This lock back this is a lock back but again. This would be a really good blade to just have in your pocket just as a backup just in case. You can’t get to your spider cut resistance.

Anything like it is a little too small to use as a main blade but let’s say you’re just getting into knives. This would be a good knife to have. One needs to know you have a blade like. It is um pretty strong there’s no blade play on here vertical. Or horizontal it locks up pretty strong. Now there is two thumb studs. One side the thumb stud is a little bit bigger. Then the other for right hand it’s a little bit bigger but. You can also open it with your left hand, so I’m going to show. That right you can open. It with your left hand. You happen to be a lefty it’s just a thumb stud is a tiny tiny bit bigger on the right side so. You can see that there but overall it’s a nice little knife. Ido recommends one needs to know. You have a knife like. Izoom out I compare. It to a Spyderco persistence. Everybody knows you can really see. That the blade really is the knife. And in general the whole knife is not big at. All it’s basically the entire length of the spider called persistence closed to open the Spyderco persistence.

You know it’s its you can tell. This is a main blade. This is a backup late. This is the blade I carry every day. This was my personal life. Iwould carry it as a backup but it’s not mined it’s my friends. Me do a full review on. It for everybody and it’s actually a very nice little knife. You can see that the tanto point is uh pretty nice in my opinion tanto blades are pretty intimidating especially. They open pretty quick like. This is my Kershaw Cora. Ialso have a review on. You want to go check. That our works great but um right. Now I am carrying the Spyderco persistence full-time. Because I’m going to be doing full review on. Iactually really like. It so here what comes in the box that’s basically. That comes inside this box. It can’t really fit much. More in here just so. Everybody knows a regular house key is about the same size as.

This it’s not very big here. Ihave a belt clip this is like a carabiner. You can see it’s pretty small it’s not a very big knife but again. When you’re hanging this off your keys. It kind of just disappears but. Ipersonally would not carry. It on my keys I wouldn’t want. Anything to happen like. It opens accidentally like stabs. Something so I don’t want to risk. That okay the clothes length on. This knife is two and 3/8 inches long has a g10 handle g10 like handle pretty grippy not too much but the overall length of. This knife is four and three-eighths inches long the blade is only two inches long which is not too big but it’ll get the job done the weight is very light it’s only 11 ounces which is a pretty light. And the blade like the steel the blade steel is Japanese aus 8 stainless steel. It has like a black Teflon coating on there which actually. It looks pretty good on the cold steel website.

They sell this for $3999 which is pretty expensive for a small blade like. This on ebay pretty cheap. You search on eBay you can get. Any knife pretty cheap. Now there is a little bit of jumping over here on the top but because of. This back the metal piece here there. You can’t really feel the jimping there but uh your fingers aren’t going anywhere. You have to pretty deep finger tools here. And there is a little bit of grip here. That keeps your finger in there so. You are stabbing for some reason your fingers aren’t going to slide out. And cut yourself and the blade is centered not sure. You can see that but. It is centered I really like the way. That it’s small would work pretty good as a backup knife in a fishing kit. Something along those lines okay so. You enjoy my review of the cold steel micro recon. One please give me a thumbs up.

Iwould really appreciate. You want to see any of my other videos please go to my channel. Iput up videos almost every single day. You would like to subscribe to. Me please go right ahead. Iwould really appreciate. Once again thank all my new subscribers thank. All my old subscribers.
