Improved user-friendly interface and added features and technology make the Humminbird Helix 9 CHIRP Mega SI Sonar/GPS G2N an efficient fish-finding tool. G2N units feature Ethernet networking capability, built-in CHIRP sonar, enhanced mapping with AutoChart Live and SmartStrike compatibility, and updated software to enrich your time on the water. Vivid 256-color 9″ screen with an 800×480-pixel glass-bonded display and 1,500-nit brightness renders super-clear images. 1,200kHz Mega Imaging delivers higher contrast than traditional sonar imaging. Mega Side Imaging reveals structure and fish up to 125 ft. on either side of the boat, while Mega Down Imaging reaches depths down to 125 ft. Or use traditional 455/800kHz for farther distances and depths. Pair any Helix Mega SI Sonar/GPS Combo unit with another Mega SI Sonar/GPS Combo to share the 1,200kHz Down and Side Imaging frequencies across your boat. Or pair a Mega SI unit with another Helix G2N or Helix G1 to share traditional 455/800kHz frequencies. CHIRP sonar uses a broad range of frequencies for extreme target separation. Use the Bluetooth® capability to view messages and missed calls from your head unit. G2N units can network with other electronics onboard using an Ethernet connection, including Auto Pilot, 360 Imaging and i-Pilot® Link™ by Minn Kota. Compatible with all Humminbird LakeMaster maps, including SmartStrike™, as well as Navionics maps. Dual card slots allow for multiple mapping options. AutoChart Live allows you to map structure on your screen and save to your micro SD card. Vegetation and bottom hardness overlays the contours, working with your i-Pilot Link to keep you on top of the fish. Internal GPS stores up to 2,750 waypoints and 45 routes.
Okay so with the helix 9g to in we’re going to get. We actually have the helix 9 itself the brain of. What I’ve noticed is. That the SD card is actually moved from the side to the front. That is actually a big improvement on what it was before. It used to be on the side. Whenever you’re changing out your SD cards. It was fear that maybe. If you’re on the water. When doing it this would drop off. You might lose your lake master chip in the lake so having it up here makes. It a lot more convenient it’s easier to get in. And very easily accessible the other thing. That came with one really convenient is the table connector instead of having to unplug every. One of these at night. All you’re going to have to do put. These up quick plug. Whenever you’re at the lake. Or you’re staying at a hotel. You usually won’t don’t want to leave. These on the boat they can get stolen pretty easy. You don’t have them locked up so. You unhook you just have to unhook. One connection instead of been hooking all. These at the same time the other. One of the biggest improvements. That I’ve actually seen so far is. Where the transducers connect to the transom is actually the mount.
They went from the plastic design. They used to have to an aluminum design that’s going to be able to adjustable but. It seemed like the biggest problem with. This was you hit a stump. Anything right here was. It was going to break. It connects the transducer to the to. That mount so they kind of took. That out of play from having. That cheap plastic piece. One of the bigger improvements of course. You have the gimble mount. And then this is pretty. It looks to be exactly the same cable as. What was on the g1 units so. You were to change to a g2 in. Or jeetu unit you probably wouldn’t you’d be fine with the. Now here’s the big thing so is the transducer. This transducer is going to be the same previously the high definition transducers didn’t come with the helix 9. They only came with the 10. And the 12 they come with a 9 to 10. And the 12 it’s going to be the it’s going to get the mega down imaging the mega side imaging you’re still going to get the switch fire sonar but.
One actually has a dedicated di beam crystal the ones previously. They were using the computer to transfer the side imaging into a Down imaging display. One has its own dedicated di crystal own sonar. And own side imaging so you’re not going to have to worry about. That interference you had previously had a helix g1 unit. All you’ll have to do is go on the hummingbird up download their newest software. And then that will directly talk to the G 2. And G 2 in units you won’t have. Any troubles connecting with. One of them we also are going to get well we’ve received the hummingbird smart stripe card we’ll do. Another review on that as soon as. This system set up right. Now it’s kind of mess so bear with. Is but we’ll have a. Few other videos coming out we’re going to be mounting the MinnKota ultrix.
This weekend so that’ll be a new. One as well, and we’ll be connecting this to. We got the pilot link through an Ethernet connection so. That we’ll be able to talk to. Each other and do the follow the contour feature so stay tuned weel. Ihad a lot of big things coming up for land run. This year we’ll be fishing the quantum fishing league make sure. You like these videos to subscribe to our page on the youtube channel. And also check us out on facebook at land run outdoors thanks. And have a great day Ibe the middle of nowhere to song.

Whoo looks like there was. Something down there maybe oh yeah lion fish right. Now look at that oh my god that’s cool. Idon’t see him but. It says there’s fish. All around me hake I’m gonna go fishing right here see. What happens all right new toy thought I’d share with. You guys it’s the Striker. Us for CB just gonna do a quick unboxing here I’m sure there’s plenty of other unboxing so see. This is the unit itself 4 inch screens not too bad of a size it’s perfect for my kayak, so I’m gonna try. That installed on there. And make one big video so. Igot the that came with full of cover. And there’s only like nine dollars extra on the regular version so. Ifigured I’d splurge. It fits on their top races snug fit on. One way so that’s it huh kind of loose just fall off so that’s not very good but anyway. Iguess it’s just there to protect the screen on the boat probably not to do. Anything else and then. All the wiring that’s pretty boring here’s my mouth I’m thinking we gonna mount. All on a animal can so.
That oh that’s pretty slick yeah. You just push down the little lever. And slide and out got little ears on. It that’s neat nice very cool. All right that’s slick how’s the stainless mounting screws whole bag the other stuff let’s see what’s in here. It looks like little wiring joints so. You come out of something with your wire. This goes straight down keeps water from going back in that’s pretty nice and then little wire keepers with stainless screws Wow. Ididn’t know it came with. That what’s this what’s. This maybe it’s a training reduce your mouth. Idon’t know how the instructions would find out. What all this stuff is but. Iwould imagine this the transducer mouth since. This is already has. That mount more Hardware. All stainless there’s. Some rubber gaskets parole rings what’s. This is the mount so.
You can mount it to the bottom of your trolling motor. Because the zip tie isn’t a big stainless pipe clamp. Idon’t have a trolling motor so. Ithought I won’t be using. That little hang on to. This is the other part of the transducer mount. Iyes man there’s so much hardware to put. It that’s great I hate going to the hardware store. Idon’t know these goes together like. They get all together. And then it’s position able it’s got little gears in there, so we’ll see. That goes together the transducer itself fancy. It looks different than the ones. Everybody else unwrapped it’s like a little coffin shaped transducer. This is supposed to be the Clearview transducer but. And then a crap-ton of wire that’s amazing how long. That is but I definitely don’t need. That much I just I’m gonna go from the battery box to the side of the kayak so. Ionly need like three.
Or four feet maybe four. Iwish there was a way like. You know cut and splice. It but I’m not gonna do. This I’ll just wrap. It into the ammo pan with the battery. Iguess constructions I’ll definitely be reading those. Ilike reading instructions especially on electronics. Ihate finding out later. That the thing does weigh. Ithought it could. Icould have used it but Wow alright I’ll plug. It into a battery and on alright well. What it doesn’t come with did. Ifound out was it doesn’t come with. This is the power wire it’s nice why it comes with a fuse in. It there doesn’t come with. Any end so you’re gonna have to mount. You know find your own end for whatever battery you’re hooking it to. Ijust happen to have the right little fittings hope.
This the wire is very small gauge. These are the smallest little. Even know if they’re called the female slip-on wants to fit up. This style battery so just slide right on there so. Ijust got to crimp. These on the end hook. That holds I don’t have a soldering gun. Anything like they go on their just slide. All right yeah seems pretty good take. This cover up man I’m surprised. This cover it’s just so. Imean it’s a nice hardcover but. It just does not write off fairly early on there at. All that’s weird I figured. It would snap on their pretty solidly. Ididn’t expect to you know leave. It on there when you’re driving down the road. Anything but that cover on. You were in a regular boat. You floored it to get someplace. Icould see that sucker flying off in the wind a little tight on let’s see. What happens here oh. One slipped right on Oh what’s wrong with. One anyway is there an on button let’s see yeah I’m gonna plug in the back yeah wait who put.
Me in charge coming on hook the battery. Or a fast just a case nice little cat for it. Iguess for when you’re having done hooked. And maybe you look maybe. This part but stay in your boat it’s got a little key way in so. It only goes in one way so that’s good that’s. All right this again try. It again I want snapped on. All right here let’s try. We have power oh yeah. All right English is. It a touchscreen I don’t think so there’s a check mark store demonstration no we’re not in the store, so I’ll shut. That off oh wait maybe. Iwant to do that for you guys we’ll try. It lets’s see what happens. You have a choice store a retail demonstration are. You sure I guess maybe. Ican’t undo this is just a demo of what it would look like. It was on your boat oh. You guys can see that maybe I’ll turn their man.
All right that’s what it’ll look like on the normal mode see. We get back out of there’s a little back here Oh see it’s a clear view that’s the reason. This unit it’s because of a clear view. It looked pretty tasty oh yeah man. That the pictures online just really don’t do. It justice that looks really neat kind of looks like 3d ish oh. Isee it’s auto-scaling to the depth weird no way. Ithink it’s like trying to put the bottom on the bottom of your screen. And given more visibility of the space between well. How neat is that what’s a fish look like come on. Now show us a fish like maybe that’s those are fishes. Idon’t know tells that it’s a fortress of solitude. They found Atlantis no. What the heck this stuff is let’s see.
What else it can do the flasher. Idon’t know how to use those let’s try. That radition and Clearview that’s. What I kind of was hoping no. Isee so this really shows up like fish better. This I definitely show. Us structure better. All right well I’m gonna work on getting this put together on an ammo box. All like one unit so. Ican just pull and out of my kayak. Idon’t have to mess with too much, so I’ll show. You guys that process next.

Just do an update on my hummingbird max for now in imaging in the kayak mount works really great. All the magnetic stuff works good it’s in a good spot. And reach everything the only thing I don’t like is I’ve got. This transducer mount mounted so far ahead. Ihave to scoot up every time. Iwant to clear weeds. Something off of it I’ve been through. All kinds of stuff with. It doesn’t come off. Anything the mount itself.
I’m gonna change. This piece the part. It mounts to I gotta put a different bracket on. That runs down over the edge of the magnets a little bit so. This doesn’t want to turn it’s never come off but. Idon’t like it turning all the time. Ican’t believe let’s fish finder screen is showing me. All kinds of stuff down there. That I’ve never would have seen ever listed my bottom. All weeds and stuff I’m pretty tall weeds down there here’s. What it looks and sounds like going through the water not much drag at. All that’s what I come up with for my new mount let’s just get them side panel over a little bit keep. It from turning other. That thing worked great tonight.
