Hi Chuck Holly from West marine. One of our most popular stereo receivers is the Sony CD xm-10. This is a really lovely little low-cost stereo receiver. That plays CDs even CDs. You record at home it has the ability to accept an input from an iPod. Or an iPhone so you can use your favorite music storage device. And play it through. This jack in the front there are a couple of things. Ireally like about. It has a very easily read display. This is a liquid crystal display with big digits so. You occasionally need to use your glasses to operate the electronics on your boat. You figure out a couple of simple button pushes. You can operate this beautifully so for example. This is the source button. Ican push it says auxiliary tuner. And other inputs I can also choose. What band I’m on AM. One FM 1 am 2 and so forth. That it’s very easy to store preset stations in the six buttons along the bottom so. This gives you a total of 18 FM presets. And 12 am presets as well as having the maxillary input. It has 200 watts of power. This is enough to have 50 watts per channel for 4 different speakers front. And back left and right but. You decide you need a little bit. More oomph in your music. It has preamp outputs in the back which can be connected to a sub woofer amplifier.

And sub woofer you really want to rock out a lot of. Us prefer to have a little lower listening levels but. You want to have a sub woofer. You can add this a really nice accessory for this receiver would be a pair of the sony XS MP 1 6 1 DW speakers. These are six and a half inch dual cone speakers water resistant. They are a really good accessory for it. And the combined they’re about $200 for the set the receiver retails for around 130 dollars. And the speakers are $70 a pair so. You can buy them separately they’re not a package $200 for the combination 134 170 for the other. One thing about the sony stereo is. It isn’t waterproof but. It does have conformally coat coated boards inside of. One of the things that destroys marine stereos is. You have too much moisture in the air.

It condenses inside the stereo. And then it shorts out the circuit port so. This has coated circuit boards. And then the last thing is for safety. It has a removable face plate so. You can take the really nice part of the radio. And remove it someplace safe so. That not only do you protect. It from the elements. That then nobody wants to still steal what’s left so it’s a really nice device from. One of the best names in consumer electronics Sony. And of course it’s available from West Marine.

In this electronics review I’m going to cover. All the important stuff. You would want to know about. This new set which are made for 2013 by Clarion the model is a CMG 1622 R. These are sold as a six. And a half inch set of marine coaxial speakers but quick to note. That the hole cutout size is. More like a six and three-quarters so. If you are doing an upgrade. And replacing some existing speakers on your existing boat. And your old application just know. This in advance that the specifications on these for the height the depth. And the hole cutout diameter. Iwant to share with. You because that might save. Some of you people five minutes of your time watching this entire video just to find out. That information the grille height which is of no significance but it’s 094 inches basically an inch the mounting depth is two point three two inches. And then the muck the mounting hole the actual hole cutout diameter for the back of the speaker to actually get. It in there is going to be 5. And 3/4 exactly so exactly 5. And 3/4 inches is what you need to mount the speaker correctly in your boat so. Everything will line up. And be fine so like. Isaid these are new for 2013. Ibelieve that they came out just a little bit late later. Than Clarion might have hoped to. Some 2013 Clarion marine stuff isn’t. Even out yet don’t know why but here.

They are with the grilles on them not too bad-looking I’ll tell. You they got a big leg up. Because I definitely think. These things will blow away a set of Ken wood Alpine by far a set of pioneers which are just ugly. These are very nice and. These have a very nice up gradable feature with the grill. You can actually replay replace. These grills and get the ones with a nice subtle light blue lighting accents on the grilles which are not very expensive very attractive. Icould definitely see a lot of people wanting. That and it did some upgrades on the materials. And some of the other. You know construction upgrades from their prior models which. Iwill go over with. You right now so like. Isaid they are sold as a six. And a half inch set but as. Ialready covered that be careful with the whole cut out five. And three-quarters these are mica injection polypropylene cones which is pretty standard in in the industry. Nothing exciting you can see.

When I even use one finger. That the whole cone doesn’t flex which is very good for rigidity. However there is a passive crossover right here on the tweeter which is not uncommon for a set of flooring speakers. However the tweeter which is a dome type of tweeter which is good so. It will give you a very good dispersion angle is not angle Bowl. You cannot pivot the tweeter in. Any way and I think. That might be a good thing because. Ican see you know salt water. And yuck eveness bugs. And no other kind of crap. That you get on the water will definitely find their way. And make a home in there the tweeter is a. One in a quarter inch size Pei cone tweeter type not top-of-the-line but probably doesn’t need to be especially for a set of coaxial speakers. You know around or under the hundred dollar price range. These will handle forty watts RMS. Iwon’t waste your time with peak readings. Because I never do. Because it’s all but 40 Watts on the water. You know it’s not going to break your eardrums.

Or anything like that especially. If you’re moving you know 30 miles an hour. Or better but for an inside. Or for a moderate sound system without the use of an amplifier. Or a smaller amplifier. These would definitely do the job. And do it and no glass. Because I liked what the way. That built all the stuff. That they’re made out of very good basket grilles. Everything built to last so keep. That in mind they’re actually not junky in. That respect rubber mounting gasket is included speaker grilles of course are included stainless steel mounting hardware which is. Nothing exciting just the screws. Idon’t have the exact technical specifications on the quality of the stainless, but they’re just screws. And you got these speed taps so. If you don’t have gel coat. And you have anything to grab into. You could use to pull the speaker in from behind with the. Provided hardware so that’s also a very good thing moving on.

Imean you might want to consider possibly using the speaker baffle in the back. If you don’t use a sub in your system. That might help Dynamat also would definitely improve the sound of the speaker’s notice. That in the box I didn’t. Imean this is actually what’s in the box just minus. One speaker that there is no abundance of hardware there’re no terminals wires cables. And abundance of installation hardware whatsoever it’s real meat potatoes aside from. That these are the 40 watts. Now another change is the impedance on these speakers the speed in Sonny’s speakers are three ohms so. What does that mean say your old speakers say. If you had one of. Some old pioneer speakers there’s. Some no-name C ray whatever speakers chances are they’re gonna be for rooms. Now the rule of thumb with electrical induction. And just power you know reference stuff in Kirchhoff’s voltage law keys.

Whatever you want to call. It is the lower the impedance the higher the output so. These speakers will actually play. Louder and work. Any amplifier connected to them harder. As if you are using a forum speaker so. If you have less resistance. You can have less wattage output. These since they are 3-3 ohms as opposed to four will play. Louder so you will get a performance boost. If you’re just doing a replacement. If you’re putting them in new you’ll never know the difference. However that is very beneficial especially. If you’re using an external amplifier to get. More power out of your system. Ilike that so that’s cool Clarendon a pretty nice job aside from. That there’s not a lot to say.

We have these things in stock so. If you’re interested in getting some of these. Or the component speakers there step up stuff amps head units. Whatever we have it. All so there you have the clarion it’s the CMG 16 22 are.

Here’s your first look at the Clarion 2015 lineup in the marine line for Clarion. This is the M 205 there’s an also an M 505 which has. Yet to be released because of the strike that’s going on in an electronics world right. Now so until April wish. Ibelieved end of April it’s from. What I understand is. When you’ll expect to see as. Some information starting to pop on the M 505. Now the M 505 is in my opinion the. One is probably going to sell 10 to. One or this one because in my opinion. This one here is of course entry level gives. You a couple basic features but it’s definitely not as robust. And cold as what most Mariners are going to expect. Most people are going to want a wireless remote control they’re gonna want to have. This thing work with the hardwired remote controls like the MF. One or mw1 or whether. It is an LCD or non LCDs type of remote control bluetooth is huge. These days however. This one does have. Some features that Clarion never had. That one feature actually let. Me to say one feature. This one here has a weather band feature built into. It which is unique as well. Inoticed that this. One has an infrared LED right here which means. That this one would work with a wireless remote control. However when I look in the box. Isee that there was. This distinct absence of. One so I’m guessing.

That may be an option in the future I’m not sure but. This one in my opinion is really for the guy who has like a walk-around boat. Nothing you know if. You have like some C ray 45. Imean this is not the boat. This does not devote radio experience. That you’re going to be looking for but. If you are on a budget. And you do buy Clarion. Because I definitely promote Clarion is my favorite line in marina always have been in single dense it’s cool it’s got the white finish. It looks really nice it’s got the dark contrast on there as for audio controls very straightforward your bass treble fader front. And rear balance presets for FM AM. And of course the weather band which is nice. This one also ties in through basic functionality for the Pandora radio.

And on the right side. They have this nice little nifty little cover which allows. You to plug in a USB utilizing. Either a Android or an iPhone product down here a direct analog 35 millimeter audio input jack right there sleeve trim ring in the back there’s really. Nothing much to see folks is two sets of RCA preamp outputs literally. If that is it so there’s your review of the m3 oh I’m sorry the M 205 stick with. Me oh come on back maybe. You might want to save. It if you’re interested in a new 2015 model with the expanded features in the single din you’re gonna want to definitely check out the M 505 so. Once that hits I will create a video for it so for now that’s.

    All I have there’s your M 205 reviews you.
