These are the charcoal companion meat claws they're great for shredding pork. Ilove these meat cloths. Because I'm not going to burn my hands like. Iwould with maybe an insulated glove. And onion blossom maker. What does it say they're no mess breading container for all your fried. And baked goods Plus make perfect on your blossoms. And that's what we're gonna focus on today look at they're made in the USA awesome, but we're gonna focus on making a fried onion in. This thing today I suppose. You could put chicken in here. And fish or what-have-you, but we're gonna focus on the onion see. We can make the perfect bloomin onion. You will the restaurant favorite for many so let's open. And see what's in it's a really sturdy bowl that's. What it looks like from the side here I'll pop the top off comes with directions. We don't really need those.
This looks like maybe an onion core so. We couldn't core out the onion there. We need to come with a little stand. You can put your onion on there. These are too big but still. It comes with this rack which is kind of nice. You can put your fire on the bottom. This one put the lid on. And shake I guess bread your items. Ithink that's the way. We work so let me go ahead. Everything started here. And we'll start with our bloomin onion first thing we want to do to get started here is cut off the top of the onion we're gonna cut about a quarter inch right off the top of. Now I'm going to take. And peel the skin off I'm gonna take a smaller knife. And core out as much of the center as. Ican we're gonna leave the root intact. We want to keep this on there. We want the onion to stay together.
This is about what you want court out of the center. Now I'm gonna go ahead. And take our onion it down in a little cutting thimble. And I'll take our knife. And I'm gonna cut along. These little pegs okay just cut along the pegs I'm not going to cut through the root is just gonna cut right down to the root. That root left intact so our onion will stay intact. All right there we go we've got. This cut through I'm gonna pop. And we'll see what this looks like okay. You can see all the different cuts in there. What I'm gonna do right. Now is drop this in a pan of boiling water for about two minutes. And then I'm gonna pop. Some ice water to help.
This thing open all we're going to make our batter for our onion, so we're going to use. And a half cups of all-purpose flour right there I've got a third of a cup of corn starch I've got two teaspoons of garlic here mint teaspoon. Or two teaspoons of paprika we've got. One teaspoon of salt. One teaspoon of pepper I'll go ahead. And to make this about. It I'll go ahead and add about 24 ounces. One giant beer this is the beer. We made earlier in the summer I've got a video about. How to make beer you want to check. That out for our season flour we're gonna need two cups of flour we've got. One cup already in here Madison's gonna add. One got Madison in here in the kitchen health. And say she's like the little production assistant we're going to need two teaspoons of garlic powder we're going to need four tablespoons of paprika we'll need a quarter teaspoon of cayenne pepper there.
We have a half a teaspoon of pepper just regular black pepper we're gonna go ahead. And take it up with a fork. And that's gonna be our flour for our onions we're gonna take our onions out of the ice bath. And we'll just let them drain for about five minutes. This will give us a good idea of what our owners gonna do. All right one looks really nice. Now our onions are dry we're gonna take the rack. It right here on top Madison's gonna place the onion inside there just like. That we're gonna put the top on here. And we're not gonna shake. This we're just gonna turn. It upside down back. And forth just like. That in Madison would. This works well we've got our beer batter here we're gonna go ahead. And take our onion and just dip. It in our batter this is a very light batter. Imean it's not very thick at. All we'll take a spoon. And probably coat everything in here can. Everything coated Madison.
Ican use and let's get. It down in their just like. All right we're gonna put. It right back in our red urn brighter Bowl here looking good Madison's gonna put the top on here. And she's gonna recoat. This with our flour hmm real gentle. And easy you don't have to go nuts with. It gets the job done wonderfully. All right we're gonna remove. This to a plate we're gonna do the other. And then we'll go ahead. These in the fridge maybe the freezer for about 30 minutes. And then we'll go ahead. These in the fryer guys we're gonna go ahead. And make a dipping sauce for our onion petals. Or a bloomin onion, so we'll use about half a cup of mayonnaise I've got two tablespoons of ketchup here I've got two tablespoons of 2 teaspoons of for spring or for radish we'll put in their quarter cup of our quarter teaspoon of salt got paprika year the measurements are. All down below in the description. And I've got some oregano dried oregano. We put in there alright.
Iwill go ahead and take our onion here that's been in the freezer for about oh. Idon't know 30 minutes. It in here I'll put. It in with the petals facing down at 350 degrees. And in 3 minutes I'm gonna take. And flip and keep it in there for another 4-5 minutes. All right guys I'm gonna go ahead. And take this out now look at. That y'all Wow alright we'll take. This over here and we'll put. It rights down on a paper towel. And allow this to drain. And the meantime I'm gonna use our little tool here. And I'm gonna core out our onion so. Ican put our dipping sauce right in the center. All right I'm gonna go ahead. And try a piece of this nice and crispy pull. It apart it's hard to do. This with one hand y'all I'm gonna tell. You mmmI'ma go with. One last bite here that sauce is perfect. All right there you go bloomin onion.
Igotta say to give. This a review or a rating I'm gonna give it. Iwould buy one okay just to get the hang of how to do the onion the breadbasket along the bread bowl alone it's worth the price of. It which was about ten bucks the onion part of. Now is about 50/50 but for the breading part of. That baskets perfect so there. This has been a review of the original bread bowl.
