Scott Road Team BOA Cycling Shoe - Men's
Whether you're completing your first century ride or crossing the finish line of a local grand fondo event, the Scott Men's Road Team Boa Shoe provides an ideal blend of foot-wrapping comfort, a lightweight feel, and efficient power transfer for pushing your limits to the next level. It's designed with a supple microfiber upper with 3D air mesh for added ventilation where you need it most, such as the toe box.
Scott employs a single Boa IP-1 dial that precisely controls the upper, so it can wrap your foot like a glove with micro-adjustments. This single Boa dial is complemented with a lower hook-and-loops strap, which secures over your forefoot to keep it secure under power. Not only is this upper incredibly fast and convenient to secure tightly, but it allows you a greater degree of adjustability than you'd find with a comparable shoe using only straps and buckles.
Looking underfoot, you'll find a co-injected sole of nylon and fiberglass, which is medium-stiff with a power transfer rating of 8 of 10 on Scott's scale. Since it's not as unrelentingly stiff as Scott's full carbon offerings, it provides a bit more comfort on longer rides for those who aren't obsessed with competitively racing scenarios where every last second is crucial. However, it's still plenty stiff for conserving energy when you're finishing up the last leg of a grueling century or trying fondo event.

Pearl Izumi PRO Leader v4 Cycling Shoe - Men's
It's easy to channel your inner King of the Mountains when donning a pair of Pearl Izumi's PRO Leader v4 Cycling Shoes. Bantamweight construction comes courtesy of a lightweight upper and super-stiff carbon sole, both of which contribute to climbing out of the saddle and chasing virtual points on the road to retain your KOM leader's jers—ahem—segment. Contact points are very personal and important for proper power transfer, and the Pearl Izumi PRO v4 is the brand's new leader for maximum comfort and utmost efficiency.
Pearl Izumi fashions the PRO Leader v4 with an Advanced 3-Layer Seamless Composite Upper with zero stitching to offer exceptional breathability and reduce hot spots by adapting to your unique foot shape. This 1:1 Zero Distraction Upper Fit mitigates foot discomfort by avoiding the soft tissue running along the top of the foot. The synthetic material won't stretch so durability and fit will remain the same as the day you take them out of the box.
The Leader v4 utilizes asymmetric closures, and Pearl Izumi places dual IP-1 Boa reels slightly off-center to further protect those sensitive areas on top of the foot. The Boa IP1 dials allow 1mm micro-adjustability and pop up for full release. The 1:1 Integrated Carbon Power Plate delivers feather-light efficiency with a stiffness rating of 13 out of 13. Thanks to the unique uni-body construction—which eliminates a traditional lasting board—Pearl Izumi is able to preserve a super low 5mm stack height for a more powerful and fluid pedal stroke. The 1:1 Insole System rounds out the highlights by allowing independent left and right arch and forefoot varus canting adjustability for optimal pedaling mechanics.
Hello this is tom Randall from gear. Mashers and today i wanted to showcase the shoe I've been riding in this is the pearl izumi pro liter 4, and so they have. The pro liter 3 which is an older model I've been riding in this one for about three months now mostly indoors on the. Trainer i like the shoe because it breathes. Relatively well it has a lot of channels here on the side that allows air and it. Also has some screens down at the bottom that also allows a little bit of airflow. The insert has a bunch of holes in it. It's you know it was more or less your basic insert but it works really well the shoe itself it has is a seamless. Upper and so you're not gonna have any. Issues with your foot rubbing up against something the other neat thing is the. Tongue on the shoe is asymmetric meaning that it's not gonna be the same on each. Side and so it rides a little bit higher. On the inside of the shoe and a little. But lower on the outside of the shoe. Boas are positioned on the outside so. When you're riding if you need to adjust your few it's really easy to reach down. And hit the bhojas have no issue you. Don't even have to look the other really cool thing is so these are the ip1 boas. Which are sort of bowie's top it lines. Have nice rubber feel to them and it's a. Click in click out so click out to. Release the tension click in to add tension and so if you turn it clockwise. You can hear that clicking that tightens. It but you can also turn it counterclockwise to loosen it up and it. Has a 1 millimeter micro adjustment so. You can adjust it either way either tightening or closing it the other. Really cool feature about this shoe is since the boas are offset or pushed out to the. Side they don't ride on the top of your. Foot and a lot of times I've written with other cycling shoes that have the. Bow as on top and sometimes you can get a pressure point on the top of your foot if you have the tension cranked down a. Lot which i tend to like to do and moving these over to the side seems. To eliminate that issue at least from what I've experienced the other neat. Think about these is the bottoms even though most people aren't going to really see them i just thought it was sort of cool this is what they call. Electroplating and it has sort of that rainbow color to them just makes them sort of neat i saw these. When i went to inter bike for last year. At the 2017 and her bike and i was like wow they just had these things set up i. Have a feeling that this will get scratched a lot if I'm out on the road they do have a replaceable bumper here. So you access it from inside so you just. Move this over and there's a little screw there that you can access it but the shoes are pretty hardy I've been. Riding a lot so i again I've been riding. These for about three months mostly on the trainer i do sweat a lot, and they. Have held up great the sometimes what. I'll do or usually what I'll do is I'll put a little insert after riding since i. Ant sweat a lot and this one is by a. Company called stuff it's calm i don't. Believe the company is around anymore but you can't find these inserts on amazon so maybe whoever bought the. Company still sells the inserts so I'll. Just throw those in thereafter doing a. Ride and it keeps them from smelling it also dries out the shoe the shoes. Themselves have a carbon plate and so. It's super stiff so if you're a climber. Or anything like that and you really are wanting a platform that doesn't give. These are awesome so. With pearl azumi they've sort of gone now switched out of doing running stuff, and they've gone full tilt into cycling. They just came out with a mountain bike cycling apparel line so expect to see a. Lot from pearl azumi in the coming years. I've never had really any issues with. Pearl zoomy I've always liked their. Stuff i especially like their winter line they seem to have really good. Clothing arm warmers leg warmers knee. Warmers things like that i should be getting in some probably. Some mountain bike apparel so I'll. Probably be reviewing that and also maybe some road apparel so but as far as. I know i don't know if they're working on any other road shoes at the moment this one is just the bomb in my opinion. If you like the pro liter 3 you're gonna. Really like this shoe lastly please. Subscribe and check out the website gear. Mashers comm i have a lot of reviews i. Think i already have a review up on this particular shoe and as i get more. Roaches in for 2018 I'll be having. Reviews of those as well.
Northwave Raptor GTX Cycling Shoe - Men's
You’re committed to taking on winter’s harshest weather on the trail, and we can’t blame you, while the gale-force-winds and frost can take a toll, we understand your drive to stay outside on the dirt (or snow) and avoid the whine of a fly wheel, and monotonous hours on a trainer. Louis Garneau Tri X-Speed III Shoe - Men's
Compared to the higher-level Tri X-Lite II, the Louis Garneau Tri X-Speed III Men's Shoes have a more forgiving, more spacious fit and increased arch support, so they stress comfortable expansion of the metatarsals and a wider range of tightness options in order to ensure comfort. Comfort is especially important when a day in the saddle can reach into the 112-mile range and directly precedes a marathon, which are prime conditions for swollen, sore feet. Given these properties—and despite a less efficient outsole and slightly heavier construction—the X-Speed III may in fact be a more effective choice for 140.6 triathletes in the age-group categories looking to check off a bucket-list item rather than pursuing a career.
That's not to say the soles aren't stiff and efficient; LG reinforces the nylon outsole with fiberglass, so it transfers power without the rigidly unforgiving stiffness of a carbon sole. While rolling out of transition, a heel loop and single cross-shoe strap help you stuff your feet into the shoes and cinch them down in one, smooth motion. The single strap also makes mid-ride adjustments easy as the day warms and your feet swell.

Many trail riders could benefit from the foot-customizing technology found on the Louis Garneau Men's Granite II Shoe. Designed with X-Comfort Zone technology, the Granite II Shoe features an elastomer insert that brilliantly conforms to the unique width of your foot without compromising on comfort. In its unstretched state, the shoe exhibits a narrower B foot width for those with a bit narrower foot shape. However, you'll find it expands by a good four to five millimeters to accommodate even the widest of D+ feet without pinching or pressure points slowing you down on the trail.
The Granite II Shoe is designed with an offset opening that helps to reduce pressure exerted over the top of your foot. LG's Power Zone system keeps your foot in place when you're mashing on the pedals on long climbs and pummeling over rocky and root-lined sections of trail. As for the closure system, Boa's IP1-S dial gives you the ability to tighten it down in small increments, so you can obtain the best fit and feel possible. Scott MTB RC SL Cycling Shoe - Men's
In a world where races are won by fractions of seconds there's no reason you shouldn't reach for every possible advantage. You've already kitted yourself out with aerodynamic and sleek gear, but don't forget to deck out your feet with the featherweight option that fights just as hard as the big guns like the Scott MTB RC SL Shoe. These ultra-lightweight shoes combine minimalist carbon fiber uppers with a light and ultra stiff carbon fiber sole for minimal weight with maximum support on race day.
The MTB RC SL Shoes feature Carbitex uppers, with the highest tensile strength possible to ensure exceptional durability as it wraps around your foot for massive support at minimal weight. The uppers secure in place with Scott's Wrap Fit technology that adds a structural layer of synthetic leather inside to wrap and conform to your foot like a second skin, ensuring minimal wiggle space and complete support. This foot-hugging technology cinches down around your foot with two IP-1 Boas that offer minuscule adjustments to dial in the perfect secure fit while you ride.
Ultimately, comfort is important, but when race day comes what we're craving is pure, unadulterated power transfer, and the MTB RC SL Shoes capture that with an intensely stiff HMX carbon outsole, coming in at at a whopping 10 out of 10 on Scott's stiffness index, ensuring all of the power you're putting down goes into the pedals to keep you going, instead of flexing underfoot. Underneath the carbon outsole is a Corecell foam core that shaves more weight, without reducing the stiffness, making the shoe a bit more minimalist, while EVA Sticki rubber coats the outside to make sure you've got the tacky tread you want if you need to hop off the bike to jump hurdles or fallen logs.
Giro Empire SLX Reflective Cycling Shoe - Men's
A few years ago, Giro revived the lace-up cycling shoe with the Empire and Empire SLX shoes. Needless to say, the difference was strikingly visible in a sea of ratcheting buckles, hook-and-loop straps, and wire dials, and with the Empire SLX Reflective Shoes, Giro ensures that they're also more visible in low-light conditions. The shoes have the standard model's pro-tier stiffness and low claimed weight of 175g, but they come equipped with a reflective sheen that grabs attention while you're pedaling.
The Empire SLX is the second tier of Giro's Empire line-up. Easton's EC90 SLX2 carbon outsole is the main upgrade from regular Empire models, and it's also the culprit behind the shoe's peloton-proven efficiency. The previous iteration of Empire soles has been plenty stiff enough for the likes of Phinney and Wiggins, and this one's no different—it's just made from lighter carbon and it includes titanium hardware to make it weigh even less. It still maintains that super low stack height, which in turn keeps your feet closer to the pedals to minimize the power loss that occurs with thicker cleat plates.
The SLXs are wrapped with the same, single piece of Evofiber microfiber used in the heavier Empire models. This fabric is exceptionally lightweight and highly breathable, featuring perforations for added cooling. This contributes not only to the sleek, minimalist profile, but it also reduces weight.
The big difference when comparing the Empires to any other pro-level shoes are the laces. It may seem regressive to put laces on cycling shoes of any level, but the logic actually bears out. Consider the typical pair of hook-and-loop straps with a ratcheting buckle, which contacts the uppers in three places. Now consider the Empire's old-school laces, which contact the uppers in seven places. Which do you think provides a more adjustable, molded-to-your-foot fit?
The Empire's inimitable fit is finished off with an adjustable SuperNatural Fit Kit. It allows you to fine-tune support to where your feet need it the most. Additionally, it was constructed with X-Static fiber to keep odors at bay.

Sidi Wire 2 Carbon Speedplay Cycling Shoe - Men's
Previous to the release of its range-topping Shot shoe, the Wire was Sidi's top dog. Recently updated, and borrowing some technology from the Shot, the new Wire 2 Carbon Speedplay Cycling Shoe receives a slightly narrower instep strap and a relocation of the lower dial to the tongue helping to improve fit and comfort while bridging the gap to the Shot. These latest Wire Speedplay shoes continue the legacy of this venerable Italian shoe brand that’s graced the feet of multiple Grand Tour winners.
Sidi shoes are well renowned for its comfort and stiffness, but Sidi hasn't attained its dominance by resting on laurels and leaving innovation for its competitors. While many shoe brands will outsource it's dial closures to BOA, the Wire 2 utilizes Sidi's own Techno 3 dial. Most notably, it allows for adjustments of each of the shoe's instep and forefoot buckles and is significantly more intuitive and easier to do while in the saddle. Loosening each buckle is a simple affair — you can pinch both buttons on either side of the buckle to unwind the line closure, or you can toggle each button for extremely precise incremental adjustment. Tightening the shoe should also be familiar: just open the buckle's switch and wind the buckle. Sidi uses a supple, low-friction, line material to keep the buckle action smooth. Not only does the Techno 3 make the shoe's overall aesthetic even cleaner, but it also allows for an even greater degree of micro adjustability and fit consistency across the entire shoe. This ensures that you get the perfect fit every single time you buckle up for a ride. And for those who prefer as snug a fit as possible, the shoe's Soft Instep Closure System has generous padding for supreme comfort with tight buckles.
Sole duties are handled by the Vent Carbon Sole, complete with a replaceable, polyurethane heel pad to improve walkability, and a replaceable, integrated toe pad/vent cover. The sole isn't only impressive because of its efficient power transfer, thanks to its light weight and stiffness, it also aids in all-weather comfort. Using integrated vent and air channels, it allows for exhausting pent-up heat as well as increasing air flow. The vent can be opened in the summer to keep your feet cool and closed during those long base mile winter days. Sidi paid special attention to the layup of the carbon fiber and it features opposing angles that maximize stiffness while allowing for a small degree of controlled flex in the toe area. According to Sidi, this carefully designed flex biomechanically relieves stress on the plantar tendon and helps promote circulation.
Also returning from previous top-shelf offerings is Sidi's vastly improved Heel Security System (or HSS) to keep your foot positively planted in the shoe. By means of a small Allen key, it's an adjustable, rigid composite band that closes the shoe more securely over your heel to anchor it in place around your Achilles. So, no matter how much power you're pouring into the pedals, your heel will stay in place inside the shoe. It's a detail that allows you to cinch down the straps of your shoes less tightly — giving you more comfort along with more security.
With a degree of engineered flex in the Carbon Sole and a secure and slip-free heel, you won't have to worry about hot spots. And you don't have to worry about heat in the rest of your feet, either, with the Wire's combination of Techpro Microfiber and ballistic mesh — giving you comfort, fit and durability.
The Sidi Wire Speedplay Shoes are available in the color Matte Black and in whole and half sizes between 41.0 to 47.0 along with a size 48.0. Please note that these shoes are designed for use with the Speedplay cleat system and come supplied with the Speedplay cleat protectors. We also offer the Wire shoes in 3-hole cleat compatibility.
Louis Garneau Klondike Cycling Shoe - Men's
If you're into the kind of winter bikepacking and dark-side-of-the-moon-cold commuting that warrants the protection of Louis Garneau's Klondike Mountain Bike Shoe for Men, then you probably already understand that cycling in these temperatures is only possible when myriad details align. Fair weather cycling is easy, because you may be a little under- or overdressed, but the temperate conditions mean the worst you'll experience is some slight discomfort. But when the temperature falls, the stakes rise dramatically.
The Klondike rises with them, though, as its primary material is a water- and wind-resistant 1680-denier Cordura nylon. While it's not waterproof, it is equal to almost anything shy of riding your bike into a lake, and if you do that in winter, you've got bigger problems to worry about. The neoprene cuff, of course, is waterproof, and it's accompanied by silicone elastic. Battening down the hatches with the zip fly and hook-and-loop closure all but guarantees the elements won't be able to find any weak spots in your winter armor.
While Cordura and neoprene keep the outside out, 400g of 3M's Thinsulate insulation helps keep the inside in. This specifically relates to warmth, though, as the insulation's breathable qualities let moisture vapor escape as your microclimate warms up, and even if the Thinsulate does somehow get damp, it shares wool's ability to maintain warmth in the presence of moisture. The theme of insulation continues to the insole, which is reinforced with three layers of body warmth preservation to block the chill emanating from the frozen road or trail.
Despite the obvious focus on warmth and weather-protection, the Klondike is still a cycling shoe and Louis Garneau is still one of the biggest names in cycling gear. Given those two facts, it's hardly a surprise that the Klondike's Vibram outsole balances winter functionality with pedal compatibility. The BOA IP1 dial is also a saddle-friendly addition that any winter cyclist will recognize from the warm day s of summer, and—though it won't make the seasons change any faster—the Klondike's high-volume EEE last provides space for thick sock layering in order to keep winter's effect on your feet to a minimum. In the event that conditions are approaching winter-lake severity, the Klondike incorporates an attachment ring for anchoring any of LG's separately sold gaiters.
Hi this is duane from bryce who's that commentator we have the luma garnell klondike mountain bike shoes this is the ultimate fall and winter shoe coming in a total weight at 626 grams does it be.
