And I'm just gonna do a little unboxing video so let's do. It okays first look in the box here is the scope very nice finish that's little pole logo it's a 3 by 9 by 40 should be a good all-around scope very price friendly. Ithink Leopold has. This scope listed at 269 just a really good-looking scope I'm sure it'll be good for anything from 22 rifles clean up to big guns. Iguess 7 millimeters. Or 300 Win Mag something.

I'd say it ought to be able to hold up to. Anything you want to do to. It just by looking at. It's a very light. Ithink it's only 12 point 2 ounces is. What the spec said and first thing I noticed is the eye relief is really good as soon as. You put your eye up to. It just opens up full view very nice. This scope has the duplex reticle in. It which is kind of just their basic reticle but it'll definitely get the job done, so I'm very impressed with this scope so far.

Other that there's some paperwork in here. Some other paperwork nice little pulled sticker. And other that she's ready to mount up. And take to the gun range so. hi guys I'm John welcome to the gun shop. And today we've had a delivery of the Leopold mu V X freedom. This particular model is the 4 to 12 by 40. It comes in this very unexcited box alright. This has all your details on the front model number. Everything like that well they're very importantly on the side. You have the gold ring guarantee so. Whether you're the new owner the second owner. Any owner of this scope. It breaks they will repair. Or replace it for free for the rest of your life that's pretty good. This point I should say is scope costs three hundred. And sixty quid for the rest of your life so let's have a little look at. What you get a sticker a rifle scope owner's manual. And an opportunity to join the American NRA very useful the optic itself so first things first it's not particularly long it's not particularly heavy it's my first look at. Ial ittle bit shocked. Iwas expecting something a little bit cheaper.

And a little bit nastier but. It weighs nothing the reticle is spot-on. It is bright as you like actually. It is very bright. And clear and not a lot of money. Isuppose that's pretty much. Ihave to say for it is a beautiful light was crystal clear rifle scope but. Although there are parts of. You can see they've cut corners it's slightly cheaper machined. You can see that from a mile off it's not quite as sleet. Or well-designed as the others but. What scope so. Isuppose what we really have to do is look at what else. You can get this sub 400-pound mark hook em axe brilliant scope lots. And lots of toys hawk Sidewinder again lots. And lots of toys glass quality. And book quality does not stand up for this.

They do not offer a lifetime warranty a lot of other substandard scopes are also available. Isay substandard these guys got probably the hardest built scopes out on the market yes sometimes the glass quality isn't quite there but. One genuinely really is. And they're all built like tanks ok scope. You can use and abuse. And give back when it's broken at. Any time I can't say. It enough for less than 400 pounds so quick sum up. It is tiny it's got great light transmission. It doesn't weigh anything yes it's not gonna tackle your tactical Sinful it's not gonna make. You look like sniper. One but actually you don't. You don't need to this is a real nice purist scope don't think. It would have been nice to see would be illumination but. You can't get a scope. That weighs this much. This price with illumination with a lifetime warranty that's built. This well we weren't.

Even you're probably never actually going to have to use. It is built that well that's pretty much. Ihave to say about. It so who you guys have actually bought the. How a package these cheaper packages. This would be a really good reasonably priced way to upgrade your package. This is probably one of the best budget scopes on the market. And having literally just got. And played with it I'm shocked they've managed to bring it into. This country at this price that's a pretty. He genuinely is brilliant. It walks circles runs circles around. Everything else in the sort of budget end competition don't get behind on having a look. And I'm sure you'll be absolutely amazed thank. Hi good morning guys America today. We take a look at something from our buddies over loop holder Leopold. They pronounce it anyway. This is from their new kind of economy line. And that's called the VX freedom it's a three by nine with a duplex style reticle in. It that's thing retails for at 389 so it's definitely on the cheaper in for loopholed but there are a lot of things going right for the scope got the loophole brain quality. Iprobably clearly a glass we'll find out here in a minute as well as. You know a lot of hunting guys prefer kind of employing reticle like. This so it's great for a hunting rifle it's also great for an AR which we're going to test. It on today we also got an AR map from blue bolt alright so out of the box. This is an incredibly light scope which. You know we can't expect for a three by nine at. This point it's got a. One inch tube on it there. One inch range lying around you're taken care of that's also going to help. You tribute to that light package, so I'm gonna get. This thing mounted up. And then we'll get order.

And get her a test it alright so then. All matted up using the Springfield Armory st edge as a test platform today. One thing I immediately noticed mounting this thing up the clicks feel really positive especially for a scope in. This price point which is. You know actually kind of rare, so we'll get down well zero. This thing up then we do a little baby box drill to make sure their tracks correctly be in business for ammunition your date were using already black which traditionally has been. Some very accurate ammo so we'll see. This does out of the old edge as well. All right moving up two inches. And back down two inches hey good return to zero let's try right three inches. And back alright looks like.

She trash let's go look at our target okay well. That could be mistaken for a hot mess. It just shows that our gun does track like it's supposed to so guys zero up well. We had to the right came back Chuck that's been a little bit. And that's probably. Than on the gun then on the Gunners go came back to zero left fine down five alright so there. Welcome to The Full Nelson today I'm riflescope so. This particular model has six 220 power with the 50 millimeter objective lens. It has the mil dot reticle. Now there are some things. Ireally like about. This rifle scopes some things. Ireally don't like, so we'll start out with the things. And then I'll move on to the things. Idon't like and tell. I would recommend now. The things I like about this rifle scope the scope hold zero. It has been durable.

I've had. This mounted on two hundred. Or three different rifles two of them are 300 Winchester Magnums. And the other one was a 308. Iprobably put 500 rounds through my 300 Win Mag with. This particular scope on the gun. It has never lost URL. And never had any problems with. That was never had any problems with. All my 308 anything so the scope seems to be durable hold 0 the other thing is the scope tracks well I've never sat down. And done an actual tracking test. Anything like I go out to shoot pull out my ballistic calculator.

And say okay it's that distance. Ireturn to zero I see returns to zero net has always returned to zero properly as always seem to track properly which is really important the glass quality. Ithink is really good on a scope for this price for four hundred. And fifty dollars I don't know. If I've ever seen a rifle scope. That has better glass quality for. That price so the glass is great the durability is great usko scoped racks properly. Now for some of the things. Idon't like one of the things. Idon't particularly like is. Idon't particularly like the skull the capped turrets. Because it's kind of compromise basically. What they're doing is making a weaker tinsy. Or less durable turret here. And then they're putting a cap on top of. It to protect I don't really like the idea.

Iactually try hunting one time. And let the turrets off of these. One of these gill screws come out the turret. Iunderstand it wasn't designed to be made. That way but it's kind of pointless to have a scope. That tracks properly. That kind of stuff you capped the turret so. When I'm out there hunting and. Ineed to dial something in a hurry. Ican't I've got to pull. These caps off so. Idon't particularly like the idea of cap turrets. If you're a hunter you just put your scope on a hundred yards zero. You leave that way. That may be fine but. Ifeel like there's a lot of optics. If you're just gonna leave them zero. All the time that are less money. You don't necessarily have to have a scope that's gonna track properly.

Anything you just need to scope the whole zero. You could save quite a bit of money over going with an optic like. If that's that's all you're after so. Idon't like the cap turrets the turrets themselves have pretty positive clicks but the second thing I don't like about the turrets is the way. You zero these turrets is instead of undoing a screw. And pull on the turret off. And then putting it back on. And tighten up the screw on zero. You simply lift the entire turret you've got a little spring in here. You lift when you've got a zero. And spin the dial to zero. And let go I don't like. That's because I have on. One occasion accidentally picked up. Iwas messing with my rifle. Or carrying or something I accidentally lifted. That thing up I turned. And completely lost zero. Ihad no idea where my zero was from.

That point on I understand that's my fault. Itotally recognize. Ilike the idea of being dummy proof the reason why vortex. All their other scopes. They use you know just a regular turret that's con capped beef your current. And stuff like any company for. That matter the reason why they have the screws in. It to set the zero and stuff like. That is to make them dummy proof so. You can't do anything stupid like. Idid it's kind of important. Imean say for example. Ihadn't grabbed up say. Even just brushed up against. Something and bumped. That pulled that away a little bit. And then you lost your zero. That would not be cool so. Idon't like that spring-loaded turret idea to set your zero the last thing I don't like the durability of these particular turrets I've had.

One of them pop off on. Me on a hunt the whole turret just completely popped off. And there's no way to put the screw back ynx there's just. One center screw they cover. It by gluing this little label on here. Ihad to pry that label up with my knife a flathead screwdriver. And then drive the screw back in so. Ihad a scope I could actually adjust. Iwas on my hunt that's. What I ended up doing later maybe. You can see that let's see here. I drilled a hole in the top of. Ican actually get to the screw that's inside of there. And still have the label on top. Idon't know why they didn't do. That in the first place maybe. They didn't want people messing around with things but the fact.

It popped off of there. And there was no way for me to get. I still have my label. They know what the heck. Iwas doing with my turret was kind of pain so. I don't particularly like the turret design having unhappy capped turrets. And then basically building less beefy turrets as a result of. And the way you set the zero. You lift you know you can just spin. It on reset the zero. That way and the last thing I don't like about. This rifle scope this is the biggest thing I have. Idon't like about it is the fact. That the scope reticle is a mil dot reticle so it's in mils as the way measurement for the reticle. And the turrets are MOA turrets. Now the time I bought. These rifles go by II didn't know. Any better I actually ended up buying the different vortex rifle scope anyway.

I ended up with this right let's go to guru scope. Some point but I didn't know. Any better about the mil amaway matching up with mil dot reticle. You know a newcomer to long distance shooting stuff like. And take the time you don't understand. That right now take the time to understand. That I'll try to explain as best. Ican but basically the way. It is you have a mil dot reticle. Any reticle that is measured in mils. Each mil is 34 or roughly three point four minutes of angle. These turrets these turrets on. This particular scope adjust in minutes of angle so. That means is if you're shooting at a target. You see oh wait a minute I'm three I'm. One mil low on one mil left. You need to dial one mil up in. One mil right than simply looking at your turrets.

And saying okay how about. One mill one mil rang. You have to say okay well it's 1 mil. This isn't minutes of angle so. I need three point four minutes of angle up. And three point four to the right. That may not sound like. That big of a deal but. What happens you have to dial two. Or three minutes of angle. Or three mils going up. Or 25 mils going up. Anything like it just adds a huge level of complication to being able to shoot sea. You hit dial in a correction. And hit your target so. It is extremely irritating so. That is my biggest hang-up with. This rifle scope is. That the reticle does not match the adjustments on the turrets. If you're shopping for a rifle scope make sure.

That the radical matches the adjustments for the turrets other. That the Scopes extremely durable. It has decent glass for the price. It holds you know hold zero are kind of stuff like. They talked about it tracks well. Everything else on is good except for I don't particularly care for the turret design that's. You know not really the biggest hang-up. Anything like that it's just. That the freakin turrets don't match the reticle that's extremely obnoxious. It comes to long-range shooting or. Any shooting for that matter. And you're trying to use your reticle to measure. And dial in a correction. It really makes a mess of things why any manufacturer makes rifle scope. That has a reticle that doesn't match the turrets. Idon't know but there are a ton of them out there. They need to stop it's not just for text it's lots of companies. They should sure certainly know better themselves.

And there's a lot of shooters. That don't know better. They end up buying these things in any way so make sure your turrets Maps the reticle other. That the scopes next let's go for the money. You are looking to buy a rifle scope for long distance shooting or precision shooting I would not recommend. One I'll probably get into. Some other options later. That are less expensive. And working much better for long-range shooting or precision shooting because the radical matches the turrets are been fewer things of. That nature so this would not get my recommendation to go out. And buy the scope for the money does hold 0. It is durable but those things I've talked about would keep.

Me from buying one of these. I would strongly recommend other people don't buy. That rifle scope because of. That reason it's not because of. Any durability or defect with the rifle scope. Anything like that vortex is customer service is top-notch is absolutely stellar in. This particular scope has I've never had. Any issues with it not holding 0 or tracking properly, or breaking or anything like you know. I shot them shoot my 300 Win Mag quite a bit so. Idon't think you're gonna have. Any issues with that way it's just. That for precision shooting competition shooting long range shooting the reticle. And the turrets not matching as a big no-no so doesn't get my recommendation especially for the price but. You know there are some good things about. It so that's my review of the vortex Viper 65 by 20 by 50 with the mil dot reticle. You guys have any questions.
