OK we’ve tested our Simmons rangefinder. And here it is against my like Edisto. While calculate that out comes to fifty-seven point eight three yards. This came up to 58 they said of course. This thing doesn’t do fractions. Or decimals so one thing it does power down very quickly so. Irun outside take a shot but. Imight get back in here it’s its already powered down. Iguess I’ll make the make. This thing last longer. And here’s what my disco came up with. And so far at least. It modest ranges this thing seems to be right on the money. Ishot a couple of these. All seems to be within plus. Or minus a yard which is damn sure going to be accurate enough for your Bo pistol. Or rifle I think a lot of strange is like ‘fuck yards probably about. What it’s a lot of that perception. We had a gun range inside of a tree row. Everybody swore that was 400 yards. It wasn’t it was only a hundred but having everything in.

That tree row and what’s the target frame way down there. You know it’s really three percent law. You know wait it’s our first quick test of the Simmons tilt intelligence 600 rangefinders. And so far I’m happy. Now I’m going to go up find me a little lanyard put on there. This is like okay but. Ithink I’m gonna take a shot. Some Kydex you know I’m gonna take a shot at making a case for this it’s electronic, so I’m not sure. How much of that heat. Ican expand its plastic I’m not sure. How much heat I can expose to might be able to insulate a little bit tape. Something or I might have to make model in case we’re gonna give it a shot.

Introducing hair-splitting accuracy at the push of a button the Simmons lrf 600 laser rangefinders delivers supremely accurate results out to 600 yards so. You can forget about having to make judgment calls. And skip straight to the exact distance the lrf six under delivers easy accuracy. And reliability that far exceed its low price tag outperforming range finders costing hundreds. More plus some nice extras. All in a compact package. That weighs just 8 ounces. When your trophy shot is on the line don’t trust. Anything less than the Simmons lrf 600 laser rangefinders available here for less.

Fred here welcome back to your obsession channel in. This episode we will be taking a look at the simmons laser rangefinder 600 so stay tuned so. You astute viewers probably notice the price tag 49 97 let. You’re not gonna be able to walk. It to the store this for $49. This was incorrectly marked but. They priced that’s. What I got it for it does not cost $49. It costs twice as much as a matter of fact. You go to I went Walmart. You go into Dick’s you’re probably gonna pay about a hundred. And twenty dollars for this so. You get a good deal like. Idid so I had no intention of purchasing this. You know in my mind. Iwanted one of these eventually but. Ihad no plans on purchasing it at anytime soon but. Ican’t walk away from. That but uh I did let the people. You know they scanned. It on the back it had the correct price everr 119 but then.

They had to give that price but. They also said where are the rest of those. They took a ball off the shelf so anyway let’s unpack age. Ialready opened it up a little bit. And been playing with. Ican give you a pretty decent review so here. You can see it’s just uh plastic. You know it doesn’t have a rubberized coating like the. More expensive ones. You can see it has the viewing port. You view out of it that’s the back end. It alleges like deep in there. Where the laser thing is. This is a laser rangefinder. And that’s what you look in there’s also a button right on the top. You press to activate.

And then you put your little box on the target. And press the button. It will give you a range in yards. These does have a compartment. You go ahead and put a coin in. That screw unscrew it takes the cap off. Or the cover off you put a 9-volt battery in there. This requires a 9-volt battery. And does not come with. Ican’t complain about $49 but uh for a hundred. And nineteen it should come with a 9-volt battery. You usually know most people don’t have 9-volt batteries later in the house so letting you know. You need a 9-volt battery for this so also there’s a hole for lanyard right there. You can see it didn’t come with a lanyard kind of strange but.

It did come with was a case. This case proudly says Simmons on. It but um how Crowe. You know it’s a padded case. Nothing to write home about it’s a nylon mesh as a belt loop right there. You have to run your belt through. It not a very high quality the stitching on here is only single stitch so it’s I’ll stand up for stand up to medium workout a medium workout but it’s not made for taking a lot of abuse there’s a little tag in here. That says Made in China which. This is made in China. And so is this basically is the cheapest rangefinder. You can find it really is on the low end but. You know Lane laser rangefinders. All do the same thing what they do is shoot out a laser. Or light at an object. That light bounces back. And comes back here. Now the speed of light is known to the electronics of the year so based on how long.

It takes to go bounce off. And come back it can calculate instantly. What the range of whatever you’re sighting in is really cool. Most people use this for hunting you know. They go ahead and get the range so. They could go ahead. And calibrate their sighting device. One on a bow for bow hunters they’d like to use. These a lot you got a lot of drops with a bow. And for long range gun shooting for hunting and things like. That so let’s go over the specs really quick. This is the black version as. You can see right here. It does come in camo as well. Now there is a better version out there. Where things change a little bit but. They have that cost. That can also take an account the tilt so. If you’re up high in a shooting down. It can calculate and give. You a better distance based on the angle. That it’s being held. And it’s called the tilt version.

It would say tilt on. It somewhere here now but again. This is probably the best basic laser rangefinder it’s very accurate it’s accurate within. One yard so that’s pretty good. And its operating operation ranges between 10 yards. And 600 yards now I’ve been able to get. It to work down to 5 yards but. All the instructions. All the stuff online says 10 to 600 yards. You look through this which I’ll let. You see through here very shortly the optics are set to 4 times so. When you’re looking through there. You have 4 times magnification. And it’s its not like extremely bright it’s okay but. You expect this is a bottom-of-the-line rangefinder. It has a liquid crystal display in their so. You hit the button the display comes up. And you’ll see you know a battery indicator.

And you’ll see the amount of yards you’ll see the little Y. It again it’ll give. You the range so basically the way. You operate you hit the button. You wake you see the LCD come up then. You put the little box. What you want to get the range up. And then it again it will give. You the range for that thing and then. It will automatically shut down in 30 seconds it’s supposed to be weather resistant I’m not quite sure about. You can see the seam right there are the better ones have a good rubber coating all around them but. It does say it’s weatherproof. It does come with that case. It weighs 77 ounces. It on my scale with the battery in. It was only like seven ounces no man again. It uses a 9-volt battery did not come with. It is made in China by slave labor for the unbelievable low price of $11990 we’ll sequence between yards. And meters whatever it’s blinking whichever. You know you want then hit the button. And it’ll be set to.

That I’m leaving it in yards that’s sort of what I’m used to. And no all right without further ado let’s go out to the backyard. This out well we’re outside my backyard there’s Carson having fun not listening and here’s the gate right here that’s in my backyard so let’s figure out. This gate is away, so I’m gonna go ahead. And grab the rangefinder. And here and I’m gonna go ahead hold. It up to the lens like so. You gotta sort of hit the button to wake. It up is what it seems. And then I’m gonna go ahead. And press it to get the range. You can see it’s 19 yards. That simple that quick. You could also see the battery indicator to the bottom left.

You could also change. Us two meters by pressing and holding the button until. Iguess the yard indicator blanks. Or the meter indicator blinks. And then you choose red the. You want is blinking and. It so there you go let’s see where’s Carson see. You can see it’s harder on dark animals, so he’s 24 yards away let’s try. It again 23 and remember it’s accurate within 1 yard let’s see. What he’s up to their Carson. What are you doing get out of their get out of their get out of there. What are you doing so let’s go over the pros. And cons really quick the prose is. It is value price one of the cheapest range laser rangefinders. You can find it’s very accurate just as accurate is the expensive ones.

It is very easy to use. And the battery life is very good. Iread a whole crap load of reviews before I’m doing mine so. Ithink thank all the people who did reviews. And wrote reviews on. This prior, but the people have gone out to 15 hunting trips with. These things and still the battery was good cons well. It doesn’t have that nice rubberized texture. All around so I’m sure. If your hands are wet. It can get kind of slippery. Or wearing gloves it’s probably very easy to drop. Because it’s just hard plastic with very little texture the. They put a lanyard hole in there. They didn’t include a little lanyard what’s up with. And it’s kind of hard to read in low-light. It is liquid crystal it’s not very bright there in the viewfinder so in low-light. It starts getting very difficult to read. And the other thing.

That the last thing is. You could go back in. This video and look really closely. Iwas showing you inside here there’s a speck of dust in their things like. That drive me absolutely crazy it’s sort of on the bottom a little piece of dirt in there. Ican’t clean that out. This is a little sealed. Idon’t want to break open. This thing and it doesn’t affect. Any way but you know things like. That just you know just drive. Me crazy so the build quality. You know it wasn’t built in a completely dust free environment. Because a piece of dirts in there so those are the cons. This is the cheapest. One of the cheapest range finders. You can get and it’s very accurate. What it’s supposed to do so. Istill highly recommend. It I’m going to give it a out of ten. It is probably the best value rangefinder.

You can find so thank. You very much for joining me here at the gear obsession Channel. Ireally appreciate every friend viewer subscriber. You have a great evening and I’ll see. You again on Friday take.

alright guys. This is going to be a first look video on the simmons rangefinder. You can look up the specs. Whatever it comes with. This nice little case it’s super lightweight. It for Christmas so far I’m loving it I’ve never had a rangefinder. This was on mega deal at Cabala’s for Black Friday came with a free set of binoculars which. Iforgot to bring with. And they’re not the highest quality, but they’re good decent um I’m gonna try to let. You guys see so you can tell oh there. We go so 16 yards there. We go you’re still not getting the full view of what you see. You look through this I’m not gonna say it’s the best. Or the clearest and honestly it’s not priced. That way but for someone like. Imean that’s pretty clear. Icould hold it steadies let’s see 53 yards. This isn’t great video guys but 52 so it’s accurate to within 1 yard so far it’s been awesome. You click this button quickly oh. It takes one 9-volt battery. You unscrew that screw right here. And put a 9-volt in their super lightweight. That case that comes with. It protects the lenses. Everything um but back to. What I was saying if. You start ranging things. That are farther away. It doesn’t give you a reading because. You just click the button don’t worry. It doesn’t suck you have to do. It seems like when something’s further away is hold. This down a little bit longer like. Iwas just going like. This like push I was like. What the heck why isn’t. It give me a reading well. You have to hold the button down until. You see the reading so. Iwas just clicking like.

This so see how nothing’s coming up. You have to do is hold down then. It shows you 2:38 that’s a click. It didn’t show hold. It 273, so I for one got kind of worried about. Ifirst got out here but. Ifigured it out I’ve been happy with. And it’s been ranging things really far away. And really good it can go to 600 on a highly reflective object. And like 400 on a tree. Some other things like. That but I’ve gotten readings at like 500 off of like a tree out here so maybe it’s the light sunny today but so far it’s been super nice it’s super lightweight. You can fit it in your pocket the clarity is good in. This good enough it’s a six times magnification. Ithink but anyways that’s the first look at the simmons rangefinder. More to come I’m still kind of testing it out there’s a good view of. It but so far it’s been really great for the price guys. And a pair of binoculars.

It was under $100 this is on sale right. It sportsman’s for 159 but for Black Friday. That cheap plus a pair of free binoculars so you’ve got a spot here right there for a loop lanyard neck thing whatever but. It fits in your pockets so easy. Idon’t know like even want to mess with. That but anyways just wanted to show. It off it’s awesome

What’s going on guys I’m John. Another product review for you today we’re looking at the Ranger 1500 range finder by vortex let. Me break this video down for you real quick we’re going to unbox. It we’re going to physically look at. And then I’m going to field-test the thing we’re going to look at durability accuracy distance capabilities we’re going to check out. It does in low-light. And then I’m going to wrap. It up with pros cons. Where to get how much. It costs and that’s. It so here we go okay the vortex Ranger 1500 is still in the box let’s check. It out inside we’ve got a soft sided case with a rangefinder in. That aside also a little cheat card here for a slope. And drop got the manual got a allen wrench the neck lanyard. One lithium cr2 battery. Ithink that’s it alright lets’s take a look at. This thing it’s really pretty small 39 inches long 3 inches wide. And it’s only 7 point 7 ounces you’ll notice there’s a rubber coating on. It green keeps. It a little bit more durable. And actually gives you a better grip on the thing the lenses are fully multi-coated the front. You have the 22 millimeter objective lens.

This rangefinder has a magnification of 6. We look on the back you’ll see the eye cup here. This is actually you manually focus. This rangefinder below that’s. Where the battery goes let’s throw. That in quick just grab a coin drop the battery in a couple other things. If you’re going to put the lanyard on. You can see there’s a couple little holes here. And that’s where the neck lanyard goes right there. And on the side there’s a utility clip so. You want to put this on your pack. You want to put it in your pocket your belt um that’s. What that’s for and. You can actually use the eleanor wrench. Ishowed you can take. You can flip it to the other side depending on. If you’re right or left-handed. You don’t like you can just pull. It rights off on the bottom there’s the tripod socket. You want to use this thing with the tripod. And then on the top pretty simple there’s just two buttons the.

One closest to your. Isays measure the one further from your is menu. This rangefinder has. All rings that seal the product against moisture so essentially it’s waterproof it’s also fogged proof alright. You have the battery in to turn. You have to do is hit the measure button. Once in the display will pop up I’m going to show. You the display right. Now it’s not a great picture but kind of gives. You an idea once the display is showing you just have to hit the measure button the second time. That will give you your basic measurement so. Once to turn once to measure that’s. This rangefinder also has a scan mode so instead of. Once to turn it wants to take a measurement. You can do once to turn. And then hold the measure button down. What you can do is just scan.

Everything the rangefinder hits. It will continually give. You updated distances as far as getting into the menu. And changing some of the settings. That kept it pretty simple so the second button here furthest from your eye is the menu button. What you do is hold. It down for 4 seconds 1 2 3 4. And then you’re going to be in the menu mode. And there’s only really three options of things. You can change the first. You can change it from meters to yards. Or yards to meters the second thing you can do is change from HCD mode which is their angle compensating mode to the l OS mode which is just the line-of-sight mode. And the third thing you can do is just change the brightness of the display there’s three different brightness es so there. You go that’s the physical rundown of. This rangefinder we also just went through the basics of functionality we’re going to get into.

Some of those a little bit. We field test the product the first thing I looked at was the waterproof claim. What I did was submerged. This rangefinder underwater multiple times. It at the beginning of the field test. Iwanted to see it would crap out on. Me right away something would happen as the field testing went on but. You know what it checked out okay. That being said I wouldn’t take. This thing scuba diving on your next trip to the Caribbean but. It gets wet in field. Iwouldn’t sweat it the next thing I did was checked out the anti-fog properties. This thing is purged with nitrogen. It has the waterproof. All rings so no moisture is supposed to get inside of.

What I did was I wanted to shake. It up a little bit and go from extreme cold to warm back to cold so. This thing in the freezer. Ihad no issue whatsoever with internal fall game. Now don’t be confused. These companies say anti-fog. It means internal fogging not external fogging like the fog. You get on the outside of the glass. You breathe on you go from warm to cold. Something like I did get a little bit of fog on the glass doing. That as with all optics but. What they’re talking about here is the internal fogging no issues whatsoever ok guys before. Itest out the distance in the accuracy it’s important for you to know. That vortex advertises. This range finder has distance capabilities for non-reflective targets at 750 yards. And reflective targets at 1500 yards in. This works at angles is extreme as plus. Or minus 60 degrees so. Istarted small looking at basic accuracy. Ipulled the tape I took readings at 50 yards 40 yards 30 20 10.

And 9 yards every reading was spot-on including the 10 yards but. Idropped down to 9 yards no reading whatsoever the next thing I wanted to do was test out the distance capabilities so. Irecruited the team an. We found ourselves a better vantage point. We started pumping some distances out measurements can be taken two different ways let’s use. This tree as an example the first. One is the L OS or line-of-sight mode. When you’re in the L o s mode think about a line going straight from your eyeball right to the tree. And the rangefinder gave. Is a distance of 18 yards in an angle of negative 29 degrees switch to HCD mode which is the horizontal component distance. What the rangefinder does is.

It takes the line-of-sight measurement. And the angle it does the math. It gives you the true horizontal distance. If you’re hunting from a tree stand. Some extreme elevations. This is the distance. That you’re going to want to use. You take a shot in this scenario the tree had horizontal distance 15 yards. Me rattle off some other horizontal distances. We looked at the first object. We looked at was this well cap. We were unable to pick up in HCD reading and here’s why in line-of-sight mode. We arranged it at 11 yards but. It had an extreme angle of negative 56 degrees so. You do the math that distance would have come in under 10 yards in HCD mode in. This range fighter doesn’t pick up objects under 10 yards so here’s the rule of thumb with. This product if you’re close to an object but you’re unable to pick up a distance. You can assume that it’s under 10 yards next. This wheelbarrow at 29 yards the decoy at 123 yards.

This road sign at 304 yards the shed at 5:17 the tree line at 9:36. This blue silo at 1435 yards. We went back and cross-referenced the distance with. Some satellite imagery. We found that the actual distance was. One thousand four hundred. And thirty-three yards which was only two yards off vortex claims a variance of plus. Or minus three yards at. Any object fifteen hundred yards away. And our two yards off was well within the margin of error next. We tried another silo but with no luck. We couldn’t get a reading on the L o s mode. Or the HDD mode what we found out. We cross-referenced the satellite imagery again was.

This silo was over eighteen hundred yards away so outside of the capabilities of. This product all right you’re probably saying that’s good. Everything but John. Idon’t hunt silos I don’t hunt wheelbarrows. Ihunt non-reflective soft targets like deer bear elk. Iwas wondering the same thing so. Iwent out recruited. Some friends to help. Me not only was I able to connect on multiple animals under 100 yards but. Iwas also able to connect on cows at five fifty-five six forties. And seven hundred and eleven yards the next thing I wanted to do was test. This product in a low light scenario so. Iset my decoy up at fifty-nine yards. Itook my first reading at sunset. Itook my second reading thirty minutes after sunset which typically is the end of shooting hours the evening. Idid the low-light testing was just a.

Few days after the new moon so. Ididn’t get much help from the moon as far as additional light. Iwas easily able to make out the decoy. And range it 10 minutes after shooting light 20 minutes after shooting light as. You can see I ran out of camera light but. Iwas still able to pick up the decoy. And range and then 30 minutes after shooting late again with no camera light. Iwas able to just pick up the white on the belly of the whitetail so. This thing had low light capabilities almost a full hour after sunset. Or a half an hour after legal shooting hours just a disclaimer don’t hunt after legal shooting hours as. It is illegal but I just did. This to show how good. It worked in low-light the last thing I want to do is just touch on the scan mode again. What you can do is hold the measure button in. And just scan in everything the rangefinder hits it’s going to continually keep pumping out distances for you.

This works great in two different scenarios. One trying to pick up distances on really far away objects. It doesn’t take much. That measure button to bump. It a little bit if it’s on a tripod just hitting the button will bump. It enough you can miss a target completely at 12. Or 13 hundred yards. If you’re in scan mode. You can keep hovering around. That object until you get a good reading the second scenario. You guys have all been there you’re sitting in your stand you’re trying to range multiple trees around your stand to get an idea. How far away everything is there’s. One tree you’ve been trying to hit but every time. You range it you’re hitting some of the branches. Or brush and foreground again. If you’re in scan mode hold. That button down you can just hover until.

You find that hole. It gives you a reading right through to. That tree you’ll be good to go. All right I think that’s. Everything so let’s move on to pros cons. How much where to get the thing okay guys let’s talk about the pros the distance is checked out fine the accuracy checked out fine the angle compensation seemed to work great. You guys saw we had no issues with water. Ireally like the fact. That the display offered three different brightness es depending on how dark. Or light it is outside the scan mode was a cool feature in the utility clip is. Something that’s unique. That I’ll be taking advantage of. This fall ok let’s move over to cons the only possible issue. Ifound with this rangefinder is. If you’re that really wants a rangefinder that’s going to pick up objects less. That 10 yard mark you might want to look for something else otherwise. This rangefinder just checked out to be really solid ok guys I’m going to take.

One step further if you’re familiar with vortexes first range finder the Ranger 1000 after looking at countless reviews there were two things. That jumped off the page as potential negatives the first is customers weren’t thrilled. You had to push the button three times to get reading they fixed. That with this new rangefinder the 1500. You only have to do. Once to turn once to get a measurement. And the second thing is. Some people said the Ranger 1000 had a slower processor speed meaning you hit the button. You wait a little bit. And then you get your distance. Ihad no problems field testing the range of 1500. Ihit the button immediately got a distance no issues there. One of the limitations of. This video was I didn’t look at battery life whatsoever the good thing about. When you’re looking through the display on the rangefinder. It actually has a battery meter so. You guys can always see. What the battery life is on the rangefinder.

If for some reason this thing you know runs out of battery two. Or three months down the road I’ll put a comment below. This video to let you guys know. That hey the battery didn’t hold up alright so. Where do how much does. It cost a good thing to do would be to go over to Vortex’s website I’m going to leave the link below. This video in the information it’s always a good place to start but about four hundred. And eighty dollars and I’ve seen. It at Midway USA online Cabala’s Bass Pro Shop Sportsman’s Warehouse so. You can get it pretty much anywhere. You guys have local sports shops. That carry any of the vortex optics. They can get it for you to the last thing. Ido want to touch on is the warranty. That vortex has I usually don’t talk about warranties. Unless it’s a really good. This is a really good.

One so basically their VIP warranty says. If it’s got the vortex name on. It no receipts no registrations. Something goes wrong with. It to them, and they’re going to take care of. It hurts to lay out a lot of money for optics. Any optics not just. That kind of warranty to back. You can feel pretty good about making the one-time purchase. All right guys that’s. You liked the video make sure. You subscribe to the antlers core dot-com YouTube channel hit. That little red subscribe button we’ve been pumping out a video every two weeks for about the last seven months. And I’m going to take. One step further I’m going to give. You the $000 it costs to subscribe to my channel otherwise keep an eye out for my next video we’ll see.

Alright hey what’s up guys. Whether your recreational shoot. Both a quality rangefinder can be an invaluable tool in the field. And I’ve got one here. We are super pumped about. We just introduced this guy. This month this is the razor HD 4000 so as the name implies it’s got a four thousand yard reflective capability so. You can reach way out. And get those ranges at extended distances it’s an angle compensated rangefinder so you’re gonna be able to get. That angle compensated mode. It also has a line of sight mode so which is useful. You spend a lot of time on the range as. Whether it’s a site in a new rifle. You just want to spend the afternoon shooting at. Some targets or you’re a hunter. You spend a lot of time out in the field pursuing game. One important accessory. You should always have with. You is a good quality rangefinder hey guys its Jerry. Once again here at hilltop firearms training center in Dover Tennessee. And today we’re going to be looking at the loopholed rx 650 the Arctic 615 really easy to use. One button power is an omen. And allows you to change between modes so. If you’re accustomed to ranging targets. And meters you prefer yards. You can change it out really easy fully multi-coated optic with a six time magnification so. You bring it up range your target that’s gonna bring. That image in six times closer. It makes a little bit easier to range the actual object.

That you’re trying to get the distance on let’s take a closer look at. Some other features we’ll do a little table-top. And I’ll just kind of explain. It works with living so let’s talk about reflective targets as. You can see we have plywood backers way out there. We go out there we staple our targets up. That would be known as a reflective target. It is a clean smooth unobstructed surface. Now the laser rangefinder is going to see. That object say a little bit different. Then an inanimate object such as a tree you’re gonna get your signal you’re going to get your range but. It will look at it slightly different.

It is a difference in its texture a. Few other things that can actually affect. It would be a shiny surface is highly reflective. And easier to range. Than say a dull surface think of a black roof. You have a black roof a lot of the laser as. That roof is going to be absorbed into. Whereas such as a surface such as. This it’s actually going to reflect back off of. It quicker now think of. It as in perspective with game. If you’re in the woods. You see a deer the deer has a hide. That their game coat is like a light color like tan is going to be much. More reflective than say a dark colored animal such as a bear. Because a lot of the surface. That the light of the laser is actually reflecting off of is going to be absorbed in. Some fur so it’s really interesting how. That works lighting conditions haze rain fog other things going on in the environment can affect the lasers accuracy but.

That is with any piece of equipment such as a laser rangefinder okay guys so quickly. More time and explain. How to change between yard. Or meter mode simply with the unit in the powered off position simply depress the button here on the top for approximately 10 seconds after which. You will be able to toggle from yards to meters. Or vice versa you figure out which. You want or the power button so pretty quick. Ihave mine set for yardage but. Iknow a lot of shooters. That come up here do prefer the meters so. You have a choice once again. You do have the ocular adjustment for the clarity depending on your vision really well-made. Ijust like the simplicity of. If you’re out there hunting the last thing you need is. Some other piece of complicated gear simply bring the thing up their range. It releases the button there. You got your yards now here’s.

Something that’s really cool about. This the design of this oh wow say. You have let’s say you’re out hunting you spotted tears across a field. And the deer is moving hold the power button down on the object. And move along with. It will continue to range as the range changes. That feature so you can range a moving object with. This not a lot of range finders have. That feature I also like the construction of the rangefinder itself it’s got. This nice little rubber piece over the top gives. You a good positive grip. If it’s a it’s raining or your hands are quite slippery total vocal adjustment here four different eyes of course. You know depending on your vision. It is powered by one single battery.

It comes out quite easy but you’ve got. This little flip up cap the last. Iwas using was quite difficult it’s powered by. One of the CR two batteries very commonly used in a lot of cameras really nicely designed. Iknow it’s the little details. That sometimes it kind of gets to. This is cool because after. You snug it down then just flip. And you’re good to go that’s actually kind of cool you’ll also notice a little area here. You can attach a lanyard to which. Iwould prefer to have a lanyard on. It in case I was to drop. You could hang it around your neck. And just simply use. It as them you know the monocular. It is in fact alright guys as well. You get a really cool little carry case with the loop Holden’s rx 650 well-made little design. It also allows you to attach. It to your range bag. If you’re out in the field. You can attach some gear well design little carry case to keep the thing protected. What I really thought was just funny. And kind of neat and ingenious actually was.

This a simple little onboard way of carrying a spare battery. Ijust that’s one of the little details that’s kind of stood out to. You least expect and the battery is dead. You can always keep a spare. One onboard according to the owner’s manual the battery life is like 5000 actuations so. Each time you know. This thing approximately you’re gonna get about 5000 times. You can use and range. Something which is pretty impressive I’ve had. Some other range finders in the past. It seemed like they really use the battery life quick. Ihave not had time to test. That but I do like. That feature alright guys. That wraps up our review of the loopholed rx 650 laser rangefinders. You are in the market for a high quality. Yet affordable laser rangefinder.

That is full of features check out the link below it’ll take. You to optics Planets website there is also a special coupon. You can put in to save. More money on an already great price guys. You for watching as always. We will see you soon on the range.

hi this is justice. The Burt Lancaster archery supply here to talk to. You about the new loopholed RX 1600. ITB r w with DN a laser rangefinder. We open the packaging up you’re gonna see. It comes with the rangefinder. And a heavy-duty Cordura nylon case you’re gonna get a shoulder strap a cr2 battery. And then the instruction manual gives. Everything you need to know. How to use the rangefinder. We open the rangefinder pack. Or case up you’re gonna see there is a little quick reference card gives. You a couple little things on how to use the rangefinder. Some different settings. That your lot you can do that’s just fits in. That little slot in the back of the ring in the back of the case. You can see that the rangefinder is extremely small its compact lightweight. And only weighs seven point eight ounces. It has a armor coated housing so it’s gonna be super rugged it’s a 100% waterproof so. You don’t have to worry about damaging it.

And in the rain weather. You drop it’s not gonna just shatter in there it’s got fully multi-coated optics so you’re gonna be able to it’s got best-in-class performance so you’re gonna be able to see in low-light conditions. And it’s got DNA the DNA stands for digitally enhanced accuracy. That gives you accuracy within a half yard on. Any color target so. If you’re arranging a black target. Something like that you’re not gonna have a problem hitting the hitting. And getting the range on. It the TBR is true ballistic ranging so. That does is gives you the true shoot to distance for the target so as. If you’re shooting at an angled shot. If the typical rangefinder says to. That it’s 62 yards the actual shoot to distance on. That angle whether it’s uphill. Or uphill or downhill might not be 62 yards. You might have to cut five yards on. Something like you shoot.

It for 58 yards or 57 yards. It also has TBR with W which the W stands for wind so. This is for rifle shooters actually gives. You the whole laughs distance on a 10 mile an hour wind out at a certain distance. Whether out to eight hundred yards. You can actually range out to sixteen hundred yards on a reflective target with. This rangefinder so you’ll have plenty of room for any sort of target within. Whether it’s a deer the 3d target. Whatever it is you’re gonna be able to hit. And the minimum range of six yards here you’re not going to really have to compensate for anything closer. That there’s three right ranging reticles. What you’re going to do is just hit the mode button go to go through. And change the radical to whichever. You prefer you can also change. That change the whether you’re reading it in yards. Or meters with the mode button as well. And then there’s the power button.

That gives you the ability to. You click it turns. More time you click. It’s going to give. You your range reading on the target. That you’re aiming at as. You can see it’s a super economical design fits in the palm of your hand easy to bring up to your eye click. And range do whatever. You need to you have an adjustable eyepiece here just so. You can adjust it to your eye. Whether it’s clear or blurry clearer. Or blurry you can adjust. That by twisting the eyepiece. You liked this video please hit. That like button you want to see.  Cancer and Reproductive Harm- www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.

I say measure the one further from your is menu.

To complete the programming we’ll use the measure. And menu buttons on top of the Ranger 1000 to begin simply press. And release the measure button briefly to bring up the display. Once the display is up press. And hold the menu button down for four seconds until the mode selection screen displays then release the button. Now you’re in the mode choice for HCD. Or l OS simply press the measure button briefly to toggle between HCD. And l OS press and released it’ll toggle back. And forth you in the mode choice. You prefer briefly press the menu button. It will save that setting now the display moves to the yards meters choice again simply press. And release the measure button briefly to toggle between yards. And meters once you’re in the mode. You prefer press and release the menu button briefly to save. That setting the display. Now moves to the brightness choice use the measure button press.

And release briefly to toggle through three levels of brightness. Once you’re in the brightness. You prefer press and release the menu button briefly to save. It the display now returns to HCD l OS. You have the settings. All set as you prefer. You can simply press. And hold the menu button for four seconds to save. These settings and exit the mode selection process. This can also be done at. Any time through the process well that’s. All there’s to know you’re. All set to take your Ranger 1000 out in the field.

hi I’m Casey McClatchy from Lancaster archery Supply. And I’m here to introduce a new product for 2018 from vortex optics. This is the Ranger 1300 a rangefinder new. This year that’s replacing last year’s model the vortex 1000. This product here is. One of my personal favorites. It will range all the way out to thirteen hundred yards with a minimum distance of nine yards. You can see as it out of the package here. It does come with a very nice carrying case as well as an ambidextrous belt clip here. You can put this on the left. Or the right depending on where. You prefer to carry. It also comes with a lanyard so. You prefer you can hang. It around your neck. And a third option you are doing ranging while standing still. It is threaded for a tripod on the bottom of the rangefinder there are two buttons here on. This rangefinder on the top there is a measuring button. And a menu button to turn. You need to do is hold down the measuring button. And a bright LCD will pop up. This readout is ideal for low-light conditions as well as for those type of people who have black readout just does not give enough contrast to the background in low light shadows shrubs tree lines things like.

It will range all the way from 9 yards out to 1300. This makes it ideal for. Both bow hunters and rifle hunters. Either a horizontal component distance which will account for any angles for tree stand hunters. Or hunting in high elevation. It also uses a secondary ranging technology called line of sight line of sight will accurately range for you out on flat distances for people who are hunting you know flatter terrain. This rangefinder it comes equipped with a 6x magnification which will give. Any shooter very clear visual on targets. All the way out to its thirteen hundred yard distance. Another very nice thing about. This rangefinder is as. You can see it has a very ergonomic grip to. It is waterproof sealed so. It will hold up through just about. Any kind of conditions. You can put it through on. That same note you do find conditions. You know this drops out of a tree. You drop it into a puddle. And the optics get fuzzy. This is equipped with the VIP warranty from vortex.

That means is this is an unconditional lifetime warranty. They will cover anything. That happens so strange finder for the life. You happen this range finder will range. All the way out to 315 degree fields of view along with. It will give you the option with. That red LCD readout. It has three different dimness options. And will give you the option to swap back. And forth between yards. Or meters depending on your preference. You liked this video feel free to give. Me a thumbs up you want to see. More videos like this subscribe to our YouTube. And for any other questions please visit. Us at Lancaster archery comm.

All right guys so vortex rangefinder Ranger 1800 supposed to be able to range from nine yards up to. It said 1800 yeah 1800 yards on reflective targets non reflective from 9 yards to 900 so open. This up take a look inside. Now I was playing around with a demo unit. It was crystal clear so I’m get. This one out play around with. It and try to show. You guys structure book need. That just hope I’m doing this with. One hand so my lanyard it’s cute my lumpy god bless teeth oh what’s in there. It is so menu measure little belt clip don’t. You guys be able to see inside. It and doesn’t really do. Anything but uh see. If we can’t get that to focus in a little bit. When we go out and play with. This a little bit later so go ahead. And get the battery in. And try to show you guys. This thing in action stay tuned things instruct in their pickup on the tree.

That barn can’t really read. It but eight hundred. And forty-nine yards 243 yards so. This thing gets out there pretty good. And it is pretty bright so despite. What the camera shown with the flare. Now you can also change. All of that a brightness. That is in the neighbor’s house so as. You can see it’s pretty nice. It should make things a little bit easier it’s stupid clear real clear setting. That tree so there it is for ducks Ranger 18 hunters. And I do want to note. That you can change the. How am I trying to say the measurements. And if I have to focus in on. This between yards and meters with the button here. Ihave it set on yards George meters. And there’s your brightness setting. That I was telling you about so probably could have turned. It up before you guys I’ll just keep.

It on the medium side in there it’s nice it’s got the battery level down there too so alright she’s just a close-up of. This card again just. Because in the beginning it wasn’t very clear so doesn’t in. Both no end in no way so. That comes with it Oh Maynard probably never use I’ll tell. You I really like the texture of. It rubbery it feels like it’s its really nice in your hands buttons. Idon’t know you can hear them click. Or not but it’s a good feel so does the knack. We shut off so you don’t have to worry about.

And welcome to another optics rate review filmed here at our headquarters. This is like as the latest range mastered CRF 2800 conversion. This is the newest the freshest range master that’s been out for about a month. And before I start talking about its features. Iwant to say a few words about the company so Leica is a sports optics manufacturing company headquartered here in Europe in Germany. And they’ve been making binoculars rifle scopes spotting scopes right out sights high-end cameras. And accessories for all. These devices many things. More for a really long time. And today they are known as. One of the top three premium sports optics manufacturers here in Europe the first range masters were introduced in 2000. And they’ve been popular ever since they’ve changed the form factor to. One in 2006 and since then. It received minimal upgrades which shows. It has really been well accepted. And not only are these great optically. They also display measurements really quickly which is. Something that other optics manufacturers have problems achieving they do. They have almost a complete dominance on the market of laser range-finding monoculars for the sale market of premium class. Some companies are keeping up so SIG’s are Leopold Nikon. Some others but like is optically really on a high level. It is they’re really different to compete against in the past they’ve often updated updated their models so. That the users could use technologically advanced devices. That are up to date. They could benefit from. Everything that a contemporary laser range-finding monocular should offer.

This is the first device of its kind so. We never seen calm models before. We have R and B models our models were the. Most standard the most basic ones. They allow the user. They displayed basically the equivalent horizontal range which is used for inclined shots. And is well a long reach hunter. Some sport shooter this is the. Most basic need it was enough for most uses but then. They also have the very technologically advanced B model which allow the user to iron choose from. One of the 12 preset ballistic curves installed on the device itself. They could use their own ballistics. And then program and then insert. It through a microSD card. And then the device with. Either display the number of clicks necessary in a certain distance. That needed to be applied on the rival scope. Or a holdover point so. They basically were equipped with an advanced ballistics calculator.

Now with 2800 comm it offers the very same things as B but in. Now features Bluetooth connectivity which is. Something that is getting more. More popular in the recent years. All started with cigs are. And their kilo now then Swarovski with RDS so. Iimplemented this technology in their victory rangefinder. And we’ve really been looking forward to for likely to start using this technology. They really made a great start with the app. And the kind of that function is great with. Iwill get the software later on first. Iwant to focus a little bit. More about the physical properties. And the outer appearance. It weighs 188 grams it’s really light 11 centimeters long eight centimeters high.

It is made in like as factory portable. All their laser range-finding devices are made seventh eyes magnification 24 millimeters of diameter of the objective lens so. This is the 7 by 24 model. It is made of a carbon fiber reinforced plastic material combines a non-slip grip with great ergonomics. And there’s no wonder. That like has used this form factor for so long. It has been so successful for the last 13 years. It requires our cr2 battery to function which is inserted here is battery compartment. It also has a diopter setting and then. They basically it features two models button. One button two as like a calls them.

And then to measure the distance. You basically use button two to first turns on the device. And then clicking click. It again the radical will disappear for a. And then the measurement matter distance will be displayed on the screen with. This button you can also benefit from the scan mode just hold. And after two and a half seconds the device will start displaying the distance continuously which is great for moving targets as with the previous models the LED display adjusts to the ambient light which is a very useful feature. Some cases it is also better to set the illumination yourself so. This can also be done. It can be fixed to one of the five fixed illumination levels. That like range master 2800 com offers. What about the measurement range so the number in like a range masters name usually stands for the maximum measurement range.

This is also the case here so two thousand eight hundred yards. Or approximately two thousand five hundred sixty meters to highly effective targets to trees. One thousand five hundred meters to gain five hundred meters. And the distance is below two hundred meters are displayed with an accuracy of. One decimal place which is also great edition. And shows how accurate. This device measures. This is as regard the button to the button. One is used to display the atmospheric conditions the inclination of the unit temperature. And atmospheric pressure. These values will be displayed. One after you click. This button these buttons are also used to access the menu. And mental opinion manipulate with settings such as setting the illumination intensity switching between meters. And yards but everything can also be manipulated through an app we’ll get to. That point later on in. This review then with a device.

You can also measure equivalent horizontal range. Something that already the are models so there. Most standard models feature in the Ringmaster series. This is a great thing for incline shots. You have to keep in mind. That the equivalent horizontal range distance is limited to 1200 yards. Or 1100 meters in interest of an ethical hunt so. This is the what our model features then. What P model features is as. Ialready said you can basically choose from. One of 12 preset ballistic curves. You can program your own with the micro SD card. And then it will display clicks. Or the holdover point. Now the dot-com models features. Everything it features the EHR so the equivalent horizontal range. It has a ballistic calculator on top of. It has Bluetooth connectivity. You need to act basically access the device through an app. You need a smart phone. That has either an Android phone. Or a iOS phone and then. You install the device on your phone.

And then you connect to the device with Bluetooth. How does this work so. Ihave the app already installed on my phone. Iwill show now so the app is called like a hunting first. You have to connect to the device searching from your devices. You just start search finds. And then you basically connect to the device. What can once here in the app. You can basically manipulate with ordinary settings setting the unit zeroing range setting the click value on the rifle scope then the brightness. And so on but what I would like to focus on mostly is the ballistics calculator so. Ialready have one of my ballistic profiles which I’m going to click on right. What you can do here is. Many things either use the standard procedure. You choose the zeroing range. And then you tell the app. What is your bullet drop at 300 meters for example let’s say 40 centimeters. And then you just say click on suggest curve. It will suggest the curve.

One of the already preinstalled curves so. One way then you have to compute. And save data to transfer. It to your range master then there is also a an already inserted database here. You can choose your caliber. Ialready chose the 308 I’ll choose. It again and then you can basically choose the manufacturer then. You can let’s say Lapua. And then you have the type of the bullet. You will get everything and. You have to click compute. And save data because there is already a database inside the app. That has the information ballistics information on plenty of calibers but in case. You have your very own then. You can create a curve by entering all your custom information like. Ihave the 338 Lapua 300 grain. All the information. That come with the ammunition. That are part of it so then. You just click compute. And save data and the app will provide the ballistic trajectory. You can see what happens with bullet at what range so.

What is its velocity energy. And so on and then. You can transfer one to the device. This is very the. Most custom customized way possible. You have either have the standard way the way. You just choose the. One from database everything is already in the app. You have your run very own. You can just insert your very own custom information. What this app allows is also connecting with kestrel instruments. Ido not have one here to test. This out but this is really. And not other thing and. It might work out really well so. Ijust clicked it by mistake yeah so. That the trajectory is already so. This is the that I’ve used. And already transferred to the device. You need to go to the settings.

And make sure that the click value in the app corresponds with the click value on the elevation third of your rifle scope. This is set you just go down here. And transfer settings. You measure the distance first you’re going to get the display distance. And then the app is going the device is going to tell. Many clicks you need to apply to the elevation turret of your rifle scope to be on target keep in mind. This function only works up to nine hundred meters. It is designed in the interest of an ethical hunt. It is not ethical to hunt on distances longer. I900 meters then again. This is okay but some sport shooters might argue. That there they need their bullet trajectory to be taken into account on. This since it’s longer. This is perhaps a slight disadvantage. That the Ringmaster has there is also an alternative. You do not want your click clicks the number of clicks to be displayed.

You can also choose the hole over to be displayed transfer settings. Now you’re going to get a distance first. And then the app the Ringmaster is going to tell. How much higher you need to aim to be on target. And that’s basically. This is the like a hunting app very simple to use very intuitive there of course going to be updating in the future make sure to always have the latest version to have. All the functions at your disposal. You get two years of warranty with a newest range master. It costs at the moment in Europe 1100 euros but for this price. It really has a lot to offer like a quality accurate measurements great optics Bluetooth connectivity as regards the scope of delivery.

You get the proof so the certificate of authenticity. You get a strap a warranty card. And a really thick booklet a really thick instruction manual available in. More languages you also get. This like storing case so. You can transport it around without the fear of. It get damaged so to conclude. This is probably a great choice for all long-range hunters. Even sports shooters who needed technologically an optically perfected rangefinder. That provides accurate measurements as always. Iwill enumerate some advantages. Some disadvantages now at the end the advantages are definitely optics the. How quick it is able to display the measurements then. We have Bluetooth connectivity really easy to use with a mobile app. And great ergonomics. Imentioned than three but actually. This device this particular form factor combined with the optics really has been doing great on the market in the last 13 years.

It has received the update with the Bluetooth. This is a really good step forward there are two disadvantages. Icould thought thing of. And the first one is of course the fact. It can only keep the bullet trajectory information into account. When displaying the click value. Or the holdover up to 900 meters which. Some sport shooters might dislike. And of course also the for some glasses users the eye the iCub design might be a little problematic. Some glasses users might find it uncomfortable. When using the Ringmaster so. This is basically you enjoyed the video hit like subscribe to our youtube channel check out our other videos drop a comment. You have any additional questions. You next time goodbye you.

And thank you for tuning in. Ijust finished off doing some no development for my bagger 80 grand vld bullets which are coated with hpm. This is actually the second round of low development. And I’m very excited about the results. However that’s not what this is about. Iwant to take more time to speak about. This which is my life leica range monster mm B range finder. This is just a bit of an update video to the previous unboxing video which are dead recently. Now I’m really impressed with. This compact little rangefinder. Ijust want to talk about the user experience with a strange funder. And that’s why this is coming up on gunfire. Now for the price point. This range finder really does pack a. Few features more features. Than its closest competitors actually feature. And its closest competitor would be. Something like the 6-hour killer 2000. Or saying that it’s at the point. Or at the time of purchase of. This rangefinder now a draft breakdown of the features. This rangefinder has. It has your basic range functionality the 2000 obviously stands for the Specht range which Leica claims. It can range it can give. You angle of inclination temperature readings. And barometric pressure readings as well. And that’s it really does stand out compared to the Sig Sauer killer. Because the according to manual it’s a six-hour kilo does not give.

You temperature and barometric pressure readings. Another nice little feature which is not indicated in the marketing of. This rangefinder you only see. You read it in the manual is the fact. This rangefinder has a scan mode. Now the scan mode is activated by continuously holding in your range button which is known as a primary button. It gives an updated range reading roughly times per second. Now I’ll play a few video clips of. Me arranging and illustrating the different features so. You can just get a better idea. What it is to look through the rangefinder itself okay so performance wise the furthest I’ve managed to take in. This rangefinder art is up to about a thousand four hundred yards saying.

It was actually ranging multiple targets. One target was the broadside of a house which is typically a big target. This rangefinder should have no difficulty in accomplishing. That the other one was at the long-range shooting force. That was actually arranging towards an IPSec target which is. Once again roughly the size of my upper body which proved to be quite difficult. Idid manage to get a. Few readings by using the scan mode on the range fun otherwise. Idon’t know it would have been. That easy the functionality on the rangefinder which enables. You to major temperature has been very useful. However Leica does advise. You to allow the rangefinder to stabilize for at least half an hour in the current shooting conditions. You are experiencing another thing. That I’ve realized is. That the heat off of the form of the hand especially. You hold it very tight. And closed to be able to get a steady range does.

However affect the temperature reading. You get from the rangefinder. Iwould advise you want to get a temperature reading just let the rangefinder set on its own. That your hand or your body temperature does not affect. You can simply just use. It to get a temperature reading and then perhaps from. You can then range and set up your. This rangefinder is also equipped with its own built-in ballistics program. Now to say the least. This ballistic program isn’t the. Most wonderful simply. Because you’ve got 12 ballistic trajectories at different searing ranges so. You can have 100 200. And 300 meters or yards. You simply just choose your trajectory which matches your bullet.

Though the closest and the trajectory from your life. And match as closely to. One of those twelve ballistic inputs. Both into the rangefinder. Ido have a problem with. That’s because with a high VC. And modern bullet we have today. They are very flat shooting and through. All of my calibers I haven’t really found a ballistic input. That precisely matches the ballistic characteristics. Iget from my rifle so at range. You are going to be a. Few centimeters or probably. One to two Moas off of your target of course it’s going to help. You to get in close to the target but. Ido not use the ballistic program from. This rangefinder I simply user to get a range the barometric. And temperature reading and then. It into my ballistic calculator such as streak Pro anyways that’s. It from my side if there’s. Anything else you want to know about. This rangefinder leaves a comment in the comment section down below. That subscribe button there will be. More content to follow.

You want to see more videos about. This rangefinder let. Me know I’m planning on doing a results video for this HBM. You enjoyed actually being able to see through the range find out. What it’s like thank. You for tuning in to gunfire. And then I will see.

 Cancer and Reproductive Harm- www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.

We are at the glorious Lake Bar Umba. What a pristine glorious delightful autumn day it’s very hot but it’ll cool down soon enough we’ve come out here for two reasons number. One we’ll go and fish in. And number two we are going to go. Some rangefinder e goodness. One of the few places. Icould find that’s worth coming to. That actually has enough range to max out my little sig kilo 1250 rangefinders on a reflective target. That reflective target is the damn wall from about 1400 meters away it’s got a nice Bank picked out picked. It out on Google Maps so hopefully we’ll catch. Some fish, and we’ll get our video back your toys All righty so I just had the boys drop. Me off over here on the other side of the dam, so I’ve got a nice clear shot over to the dam wall so let’s unbox a little cig. What it’s got to offer so as. You can see this is the cig kilo 1250 it’s a six by twenty. Ididn’t pay for nineteen for it but that’s. What the sticker says but. Ithink 389 for it was on special at the time. And since then it has gone up just a little bit I’ve seen a. Few of them online at various shops for between five. And six hundred dollars sometimes. Even over six hundred dollars but at the time the price point represented a good sort of high value option.

It wasn’t the most expensive. It wasn’t the cheapest. It has quite a bit of good solid range on. It says it will do up to sixteen hundred yards reflective trees at 950. And a soft target like a deer at 750 yards so for those of. Everybody else in the rest of the world. That uses the metric system 1600 yards is about fourteen hundred. And fifty meters or there abouts. And that’s approximately. How far away from the dam wall. Now so hopefully that will work as a reflective target so. You open the box you get a nice little lanyard. You also get a cr2 battery. That comes with it but I’ve already put. This lovely little cig case.

It has a belt loop on the back it’s made from corduroy. Something like it feels like called Jura sig brand on the front. This lovely little pull tab instead of a press-stud. Or velcro so you can open. And close it nicely. And it’s quiet which is good. And that’s a good choice for a hunting optic so pulling it out. What it looks like we’ve got a mode button right here. We have the range button here. It is very simple to operate. You simply pick it up to your eye Lac so look through. And then put the reticle over. What you want and then click the range button. It will give you the range. That you’re looking for it has. One mode for the range. You click and hold the mode button. It will bring up your options list. And you’re able to set. It for direct range so from like from A to B in a straight line disregarding the angle of elevation.

You can go ahead and use the angle modified range mode which is ideal for ballistics. You are say you’re ranging the top of a mountain. Something like and you’re aiming up it’s going to give. You the exact relevant ballistic range not the point-to-point range so. It will modify its distance. It spits out for the angle. That will be affecting the round. That you’re going to shoot so. Ireally like I think that’s a great idea. And that’s that’s pretty much. Ialways leave I never really changed. It to point distance. Even when I’m using it for other stuff like measuring out paddocks at home. Whatever I still just use. That angle modified range. Because it’s pretty much close enough it’s. It does the job perfectly so that’s. One of the things that you’ll probably find when.

You take the plunge. You buy a rangefinder you’ll probably find. It a lot you would think for stuff. You wouldn’t even expect so yeah it’s great for measuring distances in. All forms not not just in a ballistic sense so let’s jump over. And have a look, and we’ll use my SuperDuper dodgy little scope cam setup. And hopefully that’ll give. Is a nice clear picture. And we’ll be able to arrange the wall at 1400 ish meters. And prove it can actually hit a reflective target. That far out because that’s quite a long way for a rangefinder in. This price bracket to actually be shooting and oftentimes like I’m a bit of an optics knob. Ilook at Sig what if what have. They did and like. Idon’t really they don’t set my heart on fire. Ilook at their other optics. And stuff not not to say. That there’s anything wrong with them. Because I’ve never actually used them but it’s not the sort of it’s not really a name. That comes too when. You think of high quality optics. If you’re an optic snob.

And you’re used to liking night force. And March that sort of stuff. You probably wouldn’t first thing. That sig could deliver your product. That you’d be happy with but. It represents say a really good high value option like it’s not a high-end rangefinder by. Any means but it will almost certainly get the job done. You need it to do so let’s have a look at the wall. How far away it is check. This out for a garbage home job piece of redneck engineering I didn’t. Even finish it properly but. It pretties many works so. You know it’s just an old phone case with. Some PVC on that I’ve rigged up so. It will hold the ocular lens of the rangefinder that’s looking pretty good so that’s.

What the reticle looks like it’s got as we’re on angle modified range mode at the moment. That does is correct for the angle. That the in klonoa detects within the rangefinder so. It gives you a ballistic ally correct range instead of the point A to point B range so as. You can see just then we’ll scope along there. One thousand one hundred. And sixty-eight point seven meters so that’s a fairly large reflective target. We scoot on over and catch. One of these boats out the back there 511 I’ll bet. You behind they’re a little bit too fiddly for. That my apologies for my shaky hands. All right there we go there’s a small child at 291 meters being towed in ASCII tube lovely day for us 481 meters away for. That boat on the other side of the dam so.

You can do a 1600-meter long reflective target range. That means a very large reflective target at 1600 meters. Because it’s a little bit wobbly as. You can see with these longer ranges with. If you’ve got shaky hands. Iwould think you would have to be a brain surgeon to get a small reflective target at 1600 meters so let’s try. And range the trees we’ll see. We get a nice close reading on. Some soft targets still too small still too far away. And there we go 536 meters to the trees on the other side 574 there 636 getting a little bit further. And looks like the boys in the boat over there. It was 759 meters so nearly 800 meters that’s pretty good for what I would think is a non-reflective target being. That’s the trees. All right that is a reflective target that’s the boat. Something shiny on the boat so we’ve got. Some fairly long ranges on soft targets up to about 600 meters there. We go 663 meters so that’s not bad at.

All not bad at one of the good things about. This rangefinder is. You can hold like click. And drag it will spit out of. All bunch of numbers at. And then leave the closest number. It gets so you can scan across. Something like this turn the rangefinder on just by clicking the arrange button. And then scan left to right until. It gives you a reading and then just let go. You see the reading and bam 1174. All righty then, so I think that’ll do. Us for our long-range reflective target test there so. That we’ve we’ve got over 1100 meters. Whatever it was out to the dam wall on a reflective target but to get. That far out you need a quite a large target. It obviously has to be reflective enough to bounce the beam. All the way back into the receiver so. It can tell how far away. It is so it does say. It will hit a reflective target at 1600 yards. It will do that but. It needs to be very reflective. And big enough for you to actually get.

That handshake you would have been able to see through my scope cam there so. One of the things that really does bug. Me about it is on the bottom. Ifeel like there should be a tripod mount. Isuppose you could probably try. It into a smartphone bracket. Something like and mount. It on your tripod but. It is quite wide it’s a lot well it’s a lot it’s not quite wide really but it’s its a lot wider. Than a smartphone is. These days so the general sort of size probably wouldn’t really work very well. Imay end up making something. That straps around the body of. And has the little pin in the bottom so. Ican hook it onto a tripod for longer ranges. If need be but that being said I’m probably never really going to be going out there. And shooting anything past a thousand yards anywhere other. Then the range for a target shooting so. Even then I still haven’t gotten around to doing.

Ican’t see that really being an issue for me at shorter ranges like below 500 meters its very quick. And very easy on any target so. Or not it’s reflective it’s still going to give. You a good reading they don’t really work very well in foggy times of day the fog seems to mess around with the beam. And prevent like a nice straight clean reflection coming back to. You but yeah as far as clear weather. Everything goes it’s a great option so — to cover the pros we’ve got a good price point it’s not it’s not cheaper nasty doesn’t feel cheap. And nasty at least it seems to give accurate ranges. Both long and short on hard. And soft targets and reflective targets at really long ranges but as far as cones go. Nothing on the bottom to hook. It up to a tripod so. You are shooting long distance targets it’s gonna be a little tricky. And also one other gripe is the reticle isn’t illuminated so it’s just it’s always black lucky saw in.

That little video there are the higher class models like the kilo 2200. And 2400 and so on. And so forth as you go up in the price brackets. They do have illuminated reticles but yeah unfortunately the kilo 1250. And the kilo 850 I believe which is the model below. They just they’re not illuminated so yeah. You want to play you gotta pay. All right so let’s let’s go fishing and then later on we’ll go back. And look at some competitive options so I’ll do’t catch. Any fish the other boys did but. We still add a cracker overtime. And that’s what really matters. Iguess plenty of beers plenty of good times. We didn’t get too sunburned so happy with. That up here on the screen let’s go into. Some competitive options for the Seas so first of. All on the left-hand side here we’ve got the Leopold rx 1600 I’ve used Leopold rx 800. Or an 850 I can’t quite remember which.

It was but I did like. It seemed like a good quality unit. And I’d be very surprised. If these any different as far as quality goes I’m very happy with. All of the Leopold stuff. That I’ve got in my gun safe so let’s have a look at the stats comes in a couple of different colors black blaze orange. And mossy oak that mossy oak one’s quite nice 1600 yard maximum range that’ll be for a reflective target same as the sig six times zoom. And a fairly nice wide field of view good stuff. You like loot pulp stuff. And you’re not a fan of sig for whatever reason. This would be a good option for you it’s very similar in pretty much every way.

Even including the price in Australia. You might end up paying a little bit. More for a Leopold but as. It stands at the moment that’s pretty similar to the SIG’s pricing ii competitive option is we’re going to run with a vortex Ranger. Ihaven’t used the vortex Rangers but. Ihave used a lot of other vortex gear. And I’m a big fan of vortex. They make for this whole sort of high-value target market. That we’re looking at where. You can afford some reasonably good stuff but. You don’t want to destroy your bank account for the next six months vortex is always a good option so a little bit. More poke than the sig. And the loophole goes. All the way out to 1800 yards same six times zoom. And same battery same. Everything but yeah. Iwould definitely look into. That would be a good option. You want to go with vortex third a relative newcomer to my little world. Ihaven’t really know about Athlon optics for a great deal of time but my old man’s got.

One of these little Athlon range finders. And it’s pretty good personally. Iprefer the CG over the Athlon but as. You look at the stats of the Athlon it’s 1200 yards not 1600 buts. Everything else is pretty similar so. You are looking for a slightly cheaper option. You don’t need to range a sixteen hundred yard reflective target. Ican’t really think of a reason why I. Even need sixteen hundred yards of range to be completely honest but yeah the Athlon. Ithink is also a good option. And having used. It feels like a good quality product just as well as the sig does let’s have a look at option number four. We finally have Bushnell. Ithink of Bushnell in the same vein. Ithink of Burris and indeed vortex as well. Ithink they’re all sort of like. All have obviously different levels of their products. They market to different demographics but.

When you’re talking about sort of reasonably priced high value type stuff. Ithink Bushnell’s always worth a look. They have a really good warranty just same as Leopold vortex. And Sig they’re all the lifetime warranty type things. It seems to be the standard for this type of product nowadays, but we’re going out to 1300 yards. And not quite as strong as the sig in the Leopold. And the vortex but still. Than enough to get you want to go different batteries taking a cr123 instead of a the other. One cr2 but still I would think. This would be a very good competitive option so look into. If you’re interested in keeping it bushy so sorry about the audio not really sure. What was going on there I’m testing some new mics.

And we’ve got a little bit of feedback over there but hopefully it’s usable. You guys enjoyed watching the video as much as. Ienjoyed making it. You did gently tickle. That like button and subscribe. You want to see and I’ll catch. You in the next one Cheers

Some fish, and we’ll get our video back your toys.

All righty, so I just had the boys drop me off over here on the other side of the dam, so I’ve got a nice clear shot over to the dam wall so let’s unbox a little cig.

I look at Sig what if what have. They did and like. Idon’t really they don’t set my heart on fire. I look at their other optics.

I suppose you could probably try. It into a smartphone bracket. Something like and mount. It on your tripod but. Everybody thanks for joining us out here again today for another episode of the VSO gun channel rangefinders I’ve gotten to play with a lot of range finders over the course of my career in the firearms industry. Some of them were very good. Some of them not so good but the. That we’re gonna look at here today. Ibelieve holds the. Most potential of all the ones. That we’ve looked at before. This product is the laser ballistics 1000 by a TN. You guys have seen the reviews. That we’ve done on a lot of ATMs products in the past. Some of them good some of them not so good but. This is their laser rangefinder. It has a lot of extra functionality as. We come to expect from a TN. They pack a bunch of widgets into their products. One has a lot of functionality. That other range finders just don’t have. And that’s what we’re gonna be looking at here today. What I’ve brought out here today is. Some other range finders. Ijust kind of have lying around. And we’re gonna test. This thing stacking up against. It, so I’ve got this like just junkie Bushnell. That I’ve had since like. Iwas in like fifth grade we’ll try. And then what I consider to be the top-of-the-line rangefinder is the monarch 7i VR.

We have full video on. This guy as well this is the. One with the camera stabilization technology in. It so like you can literally hold. It there and it’s solid as a rock. Because just like cameras do. They have floating lenses. And stuff this digitally corrects the image. That you’re seeing so very cool rangefinder full video on. One as well, so we’re just gonna start off I’m going to take. Some measurements at the berm we’re back here at the 400 ish mark. Ihave a target above the berm. And we’ll just start out with a bush. What it gives us a reading ass. And maybe all right so we’ve been at. One for a minute even get. It to give me a reading at. This distance so there. You go on one the IVR I’m confident. One will get something here oh. That is so nice it’s a rock solid. Iget my target at 420 420 nine yards. That is not angular leave corrected 420 nine yards okay the laser ballistics 1000 here.

We go hi pieces little here. We go 431 430 431 so the ATN is in the ballpark about three yards of deviation from the monarch 7iv are here. Now remember one is stabilized. One is literally freehand so there could be. Some user error they’re not so sure but. We are going to test to determine. How accurate that kind of deviation shouldn’t matter for this particular test we’re only about. You know 400 issue ARDS so. Ido apologize on this guy. One guys I don’t know. What happened here but first cool thing. That we’re gonna look at here on the ATN. Iwill roll this in so. You guys can see it’s really bright out here today so. You probably wouldn’t be able to see the screen anyway but I’ll get screenshots.

And show you guys there’s an app. You can download that pairs with. This optic select your caliber I’ve already set. One up so I’ll roll. This on screen when you’re shooting two to three Remington today we’re shooting Gnocchi ammunition. They were nice enough to send. Is a load of ammunition for this video, so I’ve got. All set up apply and put in our I’ve already got. All the elemental data. Everything and then. We get to this screen we’re going to go ahead. And take our laser rangefinder see. I can do I got too. Many things in my hands here we’re gonna lays the target. We got 428 that time hit accept. This thing tells many clicks on. This scope to adjust so. This is telling me 32 clicks up on our scope. And we’ll just we’ll keep.

That as is I’m gonna shoot. It from 0 just confirm. That we do in fact miss at. This distance with this 5 5 6 cars being here. We are hot here we go shooting with 0. One impact the berm low alright we’ll shoot low as expected so. What we’re gonna do is go ahead. And go up 32 clicks 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 alright so. That we’ve made our ballistic correction get a good solid stance here. And here we go we’re gonna see. We can’t put some rounds on. That steel no it’s a little dusty here blowing all kinds of stuff. All over the place so the laser ballistics 1000. And the app got us on target at 430 yards. If I’m honest I didn’t think.

That was gonna work. I mean the concepts. You know pretty uniform across the board but. Iguessed it my bc. Idon’t have the bc for the Gnocchi. This is the you know. Ijust started shooting their ammo a. Few weeks ago so I don’t know. What the bc for that is so. Ijust kind of guessed at. And 223 BAC varies everything from. Everything I saw was. Everything from 020 to 027 so. Ikind of guessed right in the center. We made some hits, so I’m pretty happy with. That yeah it works. That app does it do a good job it’s a pretty decent ballistics calculator alright enough of. This I’m gonna go get. Some other equipment to mount on top of. This gun and we’ll be right back. Something that’s even cooler to show. You guys okie dogie so as. You can see we’ve definitely switched around the kit a little bit. Ihave a fix to silencer to the end of. This thing and actually. Idon’t know this point in time allowed talking about.

This ounce I am it’ll be on screen. If not then forget even mentioned. It we’ve also attached the X site to you’ve seen a review on. This particular site from 8 before I’ll have a link in the description for. That I’m gonna go and power. This thing up right. Now but the reason this thing is on here is. This laser rangefinder can talk to. This site it can do a ballistic correction based on the data. You put into this into the site for your low data use the data from. This to do a ballistic correction for you for your elevations so let’s see. If we’re up we are up good just my focus here so. That we’re all good. And I’m gonna be filming through the X site today so. You guys can see what I’m looking at. And we’re gonna start out just as is shooting with no ballistic correction. And we’ll see we do here. All right so we’re clearly shooting low so. What I’m going to do is I’m going to turn on the ballistic calc on. This thing and I’m going to try. And film through the site to see.

We can see the reticle jump on. This thing because it literally does. When it makes a correction. All right let’s see. She worked it looks like the reticle has moved on screen, so I’m not sure. That was captured or not here. We go hmm that’s odd yes my bad guys user error. I forgot to put in the correct velocity. And the Exide here it set up for a 308. Iwas running through the settings really fast. Iforgot to put in the correct velocity so. We were shooting was over. That target I had the velocity input is like 2600 feet per second which is completely wrong so here. We run try this again with the correct velocity there. It is there all right so that’s a little bit better. Now we’ve got the correct velocity in there the laser rangefinder was able to pair with the X site. Us on target at least reasonably on target there’s a fair amount of wind today it’s gusting it actually happens to be like nice and calm right in a second, but we’ve got a little bit of a storm rolling in over there that’ll be here very shortly.

This thing will not do the wind age correction for you to my knowledge. Nothing does the wind do correction for you that’s. Something that the shooter has to know. How to do but it did do the elevation correction for us at least reasonably close. Ithink again this is not a military-grade piece of hardware by. Any means but what it does is demonstrate the technology. And the advancement of technology. Where we’re headed so to. That effect there are lots of modes inside. This thing it does an angular correction. It has a fog mode that is supposed to cut through fog. It has the supposed ability to track the speed of a target. If it’s moving toward. Or away from you not side-to-side. Anything I’ve not tested. Any of those modes this is literally just. Me throwing this stuff together. And running out here. And trying it out etienne asked. Me to field test it for them so that’s that’s.

What we’re doing now the. One thing I will say. Ithink of this thing in terms of laser rangefinder in general is concerned is a lot of times. You will laze for a long period of time then. You finally get a return answer on. Some of your like marginal quality to mid grade laser rangefinders. This thing is fast I mean it’s just as fast as my Nikon IV are in the truck so. Imean I’m I’m pretty happy with its speed. And its accuracy as far as. This as far as its use as a laser rangefinder is concerned well. hey what’s up. Everybody welcome back to the. One channel so in addition to trying out my new range finder I’m trying out. Some new camera equipment here so. You guys want to give. Some feedback on the microphone sound. And in the visual look. You can kind of tell. This camera setup here has a little bit of a wider angle lens so much. Either fountain sees. It goes but anyway today we’re here to talk about the Nikon Monarch 7i VR so. This is a rangefinder. You can see right there. That it’s six by twenty. One waterproof but basically the cool thing about. It has a vibration reduction feature built into. And similar to an image stabilization on a camera. You know this will kind of stabilize. You know and I’m going to try. And show I was doing this before to try. And show you guys what this looks like. Imight just add in. Some pictures but it kind of lined up here. You can see you know. It shakes a little I have to push the button down but that’s basically. What it looks like it’s hard to hold. It up against the camera to show. You know it’s much easier to look through. You know like there’s an armor plate. That I’m going to be testing that’s about. You know nine yards away. Whatever I want to be doing. That at 10 yards so obviously I’ll back up a little bit but. You know we move over here like to those oil barrels. Or to like that stump. This kind of gives you an idea of how quick. It will turn back on. You know it turns off very quickly.

You now and then you were to arrange. You to try to hit like. One of these targets right here you’re looking at 45 46 yards like. Iwas saying the stump. Or the barrels or maybe. You go a little bit beyond. You know and it’ll. You know catch whatever basically. Whatever you’re pointing at. That kind of gives you an idea of what it looks like. And like I said you’ll see. How quickly it’ll turn off. You don’t you don’t hit the button. Anything see how quick it’ll turn off. And then you basically just hit the button. It turns right back on. And then BAM you can range. Something again alright so it’s pretty small. Itried to just set like a box of ammo next to. You guys can kind of see. Something people can relate to.

You know it is really little but it’s. You know just the right size kind of to hold in your hand. You know how to decent little case with. It I’m going to use. This in probably just about every. One of my videos coming up. You know I do a lot of testing whether. It is gel body armor accuracy. You know now be able to stop counting steps. Or sort of guessing now be able to know exactly. How far away everything is. That I’m testing, so I’m very excited to use. And so far it’s really straightforward. Ithrew the batteries in. And hit the button and that’s. You know I didn’t I didn’t touch. Any settings or have to mess around with. Anything or whatever so link in the description to an icon. You guys want to go check. One of these out they’ve got a. Few different models. You know this is the 7iv are in. This vibration reduction line is sort of new thing for them. And like I said just a quick video showing off my new range finder. You guys have any questions about.

You want to know anything like in particular maybe. You want me to try. Something like any other questions. You guys have anything you know just let. And I’ll answer them. Iappreciate you guys watching the wind channel we’ll catch.

Everybody he’s taken with an alpha dog down today we’re going to be looking at a new product a nikon monarch 7 IV our range finder. This rangefinder measure differences from the 8 mm in yards. And 1/2 yard increments waterproof as a 5th power objective lens on earth in the hand. It actually is really sturdy it’s got a rubber housing around. It so it’s really terrific kind of really just rip on. It I’ve used this rangefinder. You know shooting long-range targets hi honey what’s really cool about. This rangefinder it has a vibration of production technology sustain. That means is the reticle. And the laser simultaneously alive. This reduces vibration. And unwanted movement by 80% which allows. You to stay on your target smoother. And good the range you need to make. That long job the Nikon 7 VR is also equipped with Nikon’s hyper reef technology. This allows you to have really fast responsive reading to leverage ranges. And like I said they’re very fast. And small that there’s basically, so we’re down here in Colorado. And we’re sitting over a forum. If the rock wall across the bed exactly I’ve been coming to drugs. Igot today very clear responses. And Nikon 7vr also has identity ology which provide. You eight horizontal distances. When the arranging at really steep angles plus. Or minus the United reads so.

If you’re in the market for a fast reliable. And responsive rangefinder check out the Nikon Monarch 7iv yard. It won’t break the bank the details are up to 350 bucks. And four thousand are range from Cabo readable just a. Few paper with Alpha Delta down check. Us out on Facebook and YouTube but alpha dog down. And we’ll see you next time Oh Papa that’s. You know your range to the target is only half the battle until recently your typical range finder under $1000 was pretty accurate out to about 600 yards Bushnell has blown. That distance out of the water with the elite contacts one-mile range finder boasting distances of up to 17 hundred. And 60 yards one mile with accuracy of plus. Or minus 1/2 a yard not only does the elite contacts. One mile provides you proper distance but with the addition of Bushnell’s AARC technology. It will compute and compensate for angle. It will compute holdover for three ballistic curves. And MOA inches or mil dot with seven times magnification. It will also help what you are ranging at those distances its vivid display technology gives. You crystal clear viewing weather far away. Or close-up multi-coated lenses resist dust. And moisture and provide exceptional clarity. And contrast and the lenses are also coated in Bushnell’s rain guard HD to cause water beating for better visibility in wet weather the entire unit is also armored in tough abrasion resistant rubberized skin for a positive grip.

And damp conditions variable side n lets. You 0 at 100 150 200. Or 300 yards 3 ranging modes lets. You range to a specific target scan across the landscape constantly reading range. Or pick out the range to. Something obscured by brush with bullseye scan. And brush modes the second generation ESP processor rapidly computes distance. And range computation for rapid target ranging the elite contacts. One mile is than just a rangefinder with the ability to connect your smartphone. And the Bushnell contacts app. This will input the range. And angle data from your elite contacts. One mile and feed it into the Bushnell ballistic calculator for even greater accuracy paired with the Kestrel sportsman weather station in applied ballistics engine the elite contacts.

One mile will wirelessly feed data to the Kestrel which is also collecting data from the atmosphere to provide. You an exact shooting solution for your environmental conditions range. And nation about the only thing this combo won’t do for you is pull the trigger but. It will give all the information. You need to dope your scope so. You miss you only have yourself to blame check out the Bushnell elite connects one-mile combo at your local Sportsman’s Warehouse optics counter.

Shooting at targets. Or animals at long-range takes lots of practice. One of the most important factors. When taking these shots is knowing the exact distance to your target the new Bushnell elite one-mile rangefinder with angle range compensation takes care of. That problem for you the advanced digital microprocessor with application specific integrated circle will allow. You to know the exact distance to your target from five to seven hundred. And sixty yards this is done by measuring the time. It takes to infrared energy pulses to hit the target. And come back to the rangefinder. These pulses are invisible perfectly safe for your eyes. And extremely accurate the new vivid display technology makes for rich contrast. And stunning clarity no matter. What the lighting conditions. When you’re shooting at the range your terrain you’re shooting will usually be leveled so your standard ballistic data will work just fine but. Most hunting and shooting scenarios have. More of an uphill or downhill aspect to them with the arc. Or angle range compensation which is integrated into the elite one-mile rangefinder you’ll have the benefit of knowing true horizontal distance which is ideal for those of.

That shoot either a turret type scope. Or an edged reticle for those of. You shoot a traditional crosshair. You have the ability to display correct bullet holes over there are three different modes for ranging first is the rifle HD mode which is. What most serious long-range shooters are going to use. This ideal for the guy who has done his range time. And has a custom turret. Or etch reticle on a setup. This mode will provide line-of-sight yardage degree of elevation. And true horizontal distance the mathematical algorithm for distance. And angle has been done internally. And gives you yardage to shoot for otherwise known as the true horizontal distance.

This angle range compensation works from ten to a thousand yards range. It set your turret and send. It’s true be that easy the rifle mode is. More designed for those of. You with a basic rifle scope with just standard crosshairs like. It allows you to have a ballistic calculator with. You within your rangefinder based on data. You put in regards your ballistic information your load. And sight in distance the rifle mode is based on eight different ballistic groups covering all different load combinations with over 2000 caliber. And load combinations on the Bushnell website. One of them is sure to be acted for your setup there are two different ballistic groups for most loaded as well. Once you’ve picked your appropriate caliber. And load that under. This mode you can input your sighting distance of 100 150 200. Or 300 yards shooting yardage with angle range compensation will.

Now give you the appropriate bullet drop compensation for your setup. While calculating the angle. And adjusting for the uphill. And downhill shot in. This mode you’ll be able to see angle range compensation from 100 to 800 yards. Although this unit will give. You the correct bullet drop. Or out to 800 yards. Idon’t recommend taking this shot out past 400 yards. Because determining 70 inches out at 600 yards makes for some very big estimation on the hunters park. If long distance is. What you’re really looking to do get yourself a turret. Or an X reticle it shoots. It in HD mode these trophies definitely deserve the best. We can offer standard mode will give. You direct line-of-sight yardage out to 1760 yards but won’t calculate for angle.

This yardage will be determined by the reflectiveness of your target white. And bright eyes will provide measurements. And longer distances. Than darker items during our testing we’re able to see great results on deer size game. And we’re able to get yardage as well past the publish distances. One of the better things. We were able to get good yardage. Even in a light rain which is a common problem with. Most range finders to other modes which deserve mention are the bullseye mode. And the brush mode these can be used in conjunction with. Any other rifle setup modes the bullseye mode allows for easy acquisition of small targets. And game without inadvertently getting distance to background targets. That have stronger signal strength. One object has been acquired distance of the closer object will be displayed brush mode allows objects such as brush. And trees to be ignored. And the distance only the background object can be displayed.

One object has been acquired distance to the further object will be displayed. This unit is the perfect size for those of. You look to get ranges its super long distance it’s got a seven power zoom on. It but best of all it’s built for two hands so. You pick and your range holding your elbows in tight you’re able to gain those ranges it’s super long yardage just the other thing it’s drilled. And tapped for a tripod mount in case. You need a little bit extra stability the unit weighs in at 10 ounces operates on 1 cr123 battery the linzer’s are fully multi-coated which made for good color clarity the outer surface of the objective lens. And eyepiece are coated with brain guard HD which is Bushnell’s patented water repellent. This prevents fog and caused by condensation. You need a sealed and waterproof as well so an accidental dunk in the lake won’t render.

It useless it is covered by Bushnell’s one-year limited warranty which protects for defects. And material and workmanship the Bushnell elite one-mile rangefinder performed extremely well during all of our testing and it’s a great asset to those of. That want extend your ranges. And since it’ll do angle range compensation down to 10 yards it’s also good for those of. That hunt with a bow. All in a price that won’t break the bank stop by your local sports. And warehouse and check. One out for yourself. One up online at Sportsman’s Warehouse calm.

Everybody mark here from John 1911. And just an update on. Something we had seen for sale on the internet. And wanted to you know maybe answer. Some questions on it so Bushnell. Iguess last week this past two weeks was blowing out our Brown ells was blowing out products. Iguess to compute Amazon. One of the one of the products. They decided to sell. It at a steep discount is a Bushnell elite one-mile conics laser rangefinder. You know I think the MSRP like 700 bucks. And I’m not you know. Idon’t want a seller of extra rangefinder but. We do need a longer range. You know zapper, so we can do a thousand yards so. It was $299 I’m like well hell. We can do $299 even realized. Iordered that apparently. This thing’s got like bluetooth. And it’ll talk to the Bluetooth kestrels it’s got an app. You can download on your smartphone then maybe coordinate. Some of your ballistics data. Ihaven’t done that least not. Yet I’m too busy I’m actually already at. This video I’m not even going to be in the country, so I’ll deal with.

Iget back so it’s a one-mile rangefinder. They actually say it’s rated for 1760 yards. It is a seven it’s um. You know monocular it’s a seven power by 26 millimeter objective with a whistle is pretty nice an eyepiece. That comes out for your. You know for you know the for your. You know to rest it up against your eye. You know get your eye placement has a focus ring and. It actually functions is up as a decent as a. You know a decent you know field optic. Imean east of the Mississippi for basic hunting I mean it’s a seven power it’s not. Now 10 power 20 power. Or 50 milli rejected but. You know for basic hunting it would be. You find it’s about the size of like a 10 by 42 10 by 42 pair of binoculars but. Ithink it’s well-made. It does angular like. If you’re zapping the target. And it’s 3 5 15 20 30 degrees above. Or below it will show. You the angle which could come in handy for extreme angular shooting for those of. More on the you know west of the Mississippi Organa.

You know Appalachian Mountains. Icould be an issue to comes with. Icover a quick detach lanyard. We have successfully tested. This at 12 o’clock bright Sun. Iwas easily hitting tree lines the leaves of the 800 yards. Iwas able to just I was out. Icouldn’t I couldn’t get. Any farther I was able to confirm. This thing was able to shoot green leaves at the top of a tree twelve hundred yards away at 12 o’clock noon Sun. You know 87 degree weather. Ithought that was pretty fantastic so. Idon’t know about all the fancy blue through stuff but. You were on the fence about maybe picking up. One of these Bushnell laser rangefinders. You run across one say for $299. Ithink it’s a buy I’m very happy with. It we’re going to be using it quite a bit with the new range project we’ve got going on for the regulars. And we’re talking about so as for the rest. You know we’ll let you know as. It so anyway thank you for your time.

You want to see more pictures of how. You know arranging out. If the conditions go to our blog page John nice 11com that’s Jo HN. One nine one calm remember it’s. All about shooting guns. And having fun everybody have a good day.

Alright guys welcome back to two for three outdoors my name is Josh tonight we’re gonna take a look at the Sig Kahlo 1200 rangefinders. Ipicked this week from not just shooters supply. They had this on sale for $169. And got free shipping on. And so far it seems to be a pretty nice rangefinder its advertised. It ranges deer up to 600 yards trees to 700. And reflective targets to 16 out of the arms runs on a cr2 battery it’s supposed to have really long battery life. It the actual size is very small. And compact it comes a little nice carrying case the box is very nice. It came in and an instruction manual there’s two buttons on. One is the mode one is the range button battery goes here. It has an adjustable eyepiece. This darkens and lightens the LCD in there. I found the darkest setting is probably. You want it there’re two modes of operation. This a line of sight. And an angled modified range line of sight is like. Whatever you see the distance is. This place the angle modified range is. When you’re looking at a decline. Or an incline it just is adjusted for what the distance would be for a like. I say a rifle if your line of sight was 500 yards looking down. That angle 30 degrees the holdover would have to be about for 433 yards that’s the factory configuration.

It comes in we’re gonna leave. It we’re on flat ground here so. It doesn’t really matter it’s also factory set to yards but. You can’t change the meters tonight it’s gonna be not really a. How to use it we’re just gonna kind of show. I have a little camera here. It just right I can show. What I see, and we’ll go out in the truck drive around. And range some things. I have ranged a very large building at 1400. I believe 62 yards I’ve ranged combines grain cards at twelve thirteen hundred yards fence rows no problem at a thousand yards so. This seems to be pretty good it’s really about. All there is to tell. You about and let’s go out. And play with this a little bit. All right, so we’re gonna range around here in the yard just a little bit. And across the road. And give you an idea. What this thing will do so. We have a sign there. That comes up 91 yards there’s a dumpster that’s approximately a hundred its range.

That tree 35 we can also go to. These houses that are pretty far out there 359 yards get. This hey Belle 96 the corner of. That building is about 150 yards we’ll go up. This was about 215 without building a big trees about 77 see I’m holding it. And we’re standing no burning pile back there. And burn barrel is about 85 yards so let’s go out in the truck. And take a look around we’ll range. This a little farm there 669 to. That grain band 732 to. That shed 662 to that other shed eleven hundred. And thirty yards to. That fence row so it’ll think. These fence rows up pretty good about 450 to. That fence row be nice. We can find more deer but. They was kind of in. Some tall weeds we can’t find any deer will rain. Some cows the Sun starting to set so it’s hard to get a little dark shit here’s cow pasture those cows 123 yards there’s. One up on the hill there.

You had about 320 yards away so. It would definitely pick up a deer. That far we’ll drive around. This a little bit more simply see. Anything else probably be a booger to edit. That Ike I guess really so there’s. Some houses and sheds out there pretty good range 1246 yards 1197 to. That other on the woods out there 600 at the ten yards so like. This thing will reach out pretty good. He was setting up a range. You could probably park your truck at your shooting spa. And then you know set a target up out. You know a thousand twelve hundred yards. And range back off it here that’s right they’re about four hundred fifty-five yards away got a.

More cows here get pretty dark here 135 yards. That one’s about 80 88 got. That at about 140 and about 114 so like. You can see it’s a pretty good rangefinder. It actually exceeds my expectation. Iwasn’t expecting it to be. That good it picks up Finch rose. And stuff like that very well so it’s getting pretty much dark. Now so we’re gonna in. This video I don’t know. How long the sale goes on for but for a hundred. And sixty-nine dollars. It seems like a pretty solid deal so thanks for watching, and we’ll catch. You later

Okay so today went down to sportsmen of our house. Ihad to pick up a few supplies for archery pick up. Some arrows some arrowheads. And throw it along a nice little gadget here the Leopold rx 650 let’s go ahead. And break into what all. This is a total unboxing so okay inside. We have the carry case. And the range finder spare battery. And the instruction booklet let’s go ahead. Everything out see what all. We have here just like a little kid in the candy store. Now originally I was going to go for the five fifty looked online. Iforgot between online. And the store sales so. Ifigured they had. It in the store they didn’t but. They did have the 650 which is about $50. A more little bit better as far as range wise but then. That is pretty much the same. Ireally like the can the casing for it case has got a little clip here instead of velcro which is really nice it’s done by a little string cord. It just pops right in their latch is just fine the case has a little compartment for the battery here. Ididn’t pick up a spare battery but. It did come with a battery, so we’re going to go ahead. And take a look at it has a battery in. It which it will otherwise battery would be dead. Now by itself it’s got a nice little optical zoom so. It kind of works as a monocular. Another good feature. Ilike is the battery case. Or the battery compartment itself. You just flip up the little tab. And twist and there’s the battery compartment let’s go ahead. And open up the battery here take the foil off of.

Now the battery life of. This is 5000 actuations it’s a 3-volt lithium cr2 battery on a power off after five seconds laser radiation measurement up to five rides to 650 yards measure time less. Then a second sounds pretty good looks so let’s put the battery in. What she does looking inside here. It gives you a little diagram of how to put the battery in so. You can’t can’t put. It in the wrong way then. You get the battery in just keep on turning the lid clockwise. When it’s tight put the handle down. And you’re ready to go. Now I’m sitting in the side of the yard here. Igot a complete line to the mailboxes, so we’re going to take a look at. It 28 yards right off the bat works perfect right out of box. Now there’s a satellite dish across the way at 55 yards 54. Now the rangefinders set up like. Isay right out of the box. Ireally like you push down on the button. You want the yardage push. It down again it gives.

You the yardage it’s got a real nice of a design ergonomically correct it’s getting this little rubberized handle here so. That won’t slip or muddy. Or what-have-you when you’re out in the field has an adjustable lens here so. You can slide in on your target make sure. You get a clear shot I’m liking it looks great we’ll have to do. Some further testing and see. It works out in the field until. That time I’m going to go ahead. And just practice with. It a little bit decided to get. Because hunting seasons coming up here pretty soon get about three months to go. And really looking forward to. It also the Decatur case. You’re strapped to your bill. You can hook it on to hook. It on to your gear run.

That was so that’s hanging its hanging right next to. You can have it right next to your binoculars. You want wherever did. Some research on the loop hold 650. And found out they were really good right on the mark read the reviews on. And so far I’m tickled with. What I got so until next time hope. You get hope what you’re hunting for until then I’ll say see. You later and shoot straight you.

Hey guys right now we’re gonna check out a loo-loo pulled rangefinder. This is the rx 650 I just got. This for Christmas so far it’s been good it’s been accurate. And let’s just get to testing it I’m behind the camera right. Now so you’re not gonna see. Me but we’re gonna arrange. This is I’m gonna see. Ican get you guys to look through the rangefinder hey guys. Ijust flipped you guys around on. It ranges it looks to be about 170. Some yards is what I would guess but let. What it ranges out using the loophole rx 650. It is ranging out at about 195. Or 200 yards so my guess was pretty good but. If you’re shooting a deer. You dial your scope. And wrong you could miss at. That distance so I think that’s. All we’re gonna go testing it. Idid a short clip of. Me following some deer with. It earlier you got to be able to look through.

How close I could get to. These deer so um little fog rx 650 650 bucks turner bucks depending on where. You go good deal that’s a gunshot its muzzle a seasoned piece you.

Everyone welcomed into loopholed live thanks for joining us by name is Nick. And we’ve been away for a couple weeks, so we’re gonna come back strong here we’re gonna talk about a really cool topic we’re gonna talk about range finders. Ihave the esteemed Eric Overstrict with. Is so Eric explain a little bit about. What you do here what your role in the range finders is. Iam the technology product line manager so. Imanage all the products. That have batteries in them. And a big piece of that is range finders. Some thermal products. Some other products. That we’ve previously done right so. Ilove talking about range finders. II can geek out about. Iwill tell you guys. You went to central casting and pick the guy. You wanted to create range finders for you. That would be Eric he geeks out on. All the little technical data the long-range ballistic stuff I’m not I’m not making funny. Ithink it’s awesome. And that’s its exactly the kind of passion. And drive you want behind coming up with. These products it really shows too in. What we’re doing so. Ilove talking about hunting and. Ilove talking about Leopold rangefinders right exactly yeah so Eric. How long you’ve been here actually just a little background about yourself. And like you came here. Ihave been here for almost 11 years yeah. And it’s really hard to believe time goes by fast right things.

You love yeah this August I’m 12 years. Istill feel like well there’s a lot of people here. Then 20 30 years right so. It still feels like I’m a bit of a newbie right but. It goes by super fast. And you’ve been running the rangefinder line for most. That time right I have I’ve been the PLM for the rangefinders for those 11 years yeah before coming to loopholed. Iworked for Tektronix okay it’s a local test. And measurement company yeah. Where essentially we developed test equipment. That helps the high-tech manufacturers develop their products so. What would help Intel develop their new chips school help the cell phone companies develop their new insects okay so. That played right into.

This role then it your passion for hunting and shooting I take. It it was a good man sometimes. You got a pincher so. You like is this work actually. Iin my last roll there. Iwas managing spectrum analyzers. And Eric’s gonna say stuff. And I’m gonna go woods. That’s because I don’t know half the stuff Eric says so it’s equipment that’s used in developing handset mobiles. Or radar okay and in my. And those are perfect fits for what we do with range finders essentially radar is using a different type of technology. And doing the exact same thing okay yes. Something out pinging receiving it back yeah okay. And with cell phone development it’s. All about signal-to-noise ratio. And that’s we get our signal out of awesome the noise okay cool.

Ijust want to mention to. You for everyone who is hating on. Us on the other ones we’re going vertical. This time on Instagram so. You can stop typing comments so that’s a big momentous occasion for us. That we’re very cool. Ijust thought that’s funny so let’s talk a little bit about the range finder history so. When did we start doing range finders. What was a 2006 he said 2007 so okay that’s in seven yeah, so we’ve been doing range finders for quite a bit. And they’ve kind of evolved a lot over. That time right technology has moved fast since. That time yeah for sure just to reminder to. Everyone you know type in comments. We actually got a lot of good comments.

Or excuse me questions. We got a lot of good questions from the insta story. We posted yesterday but type questions in we’ll try to get to. All of them we had like 30. Something from yesterday so. Idon’t know if we’ll be able to get to. All of them but we’ll have time for. That’s because I think that’s important a lot of people have a lot of questions about range finders. You know that so tell about range finders. What is actually happening when. You range something let’s kind of break down what’s happening in the rangefinder it’s not magic voodoo too somehow. You know get in that range so the scientific side of. It there could be voodoo yeah there’s there’s a lot of going on essentially the best way to think about a rangefinder is a tool.

That measures the speed of light so. What we do is we have a. We omit 905 nanometer light okay. And that’s a class of laser right kind of it’s its on the spectrum it’s on the spectrum right yeah for reference visible light is in the 300 to. Or 400 to 700 okay nanometers so. We are on the IR side of. That at 9:05 gotcha. Because it’s not visible to the naked eye. When you’re reading. That laser out okay cool so. We omit a rangefinder yeah. We omit the light yeah. It bounces off the target. It comes back we measure the time. It took to do that mm-hmm the speed of light is a constant yeah, so we’re able to take. That time divide it in half yeah. And then know something away is because of. That interesting okay so you’re just sending out a beam it’s hitting something and it’s receiving it back into the rangefinder is doing its scientific mathematical calculation for how long. And then it’s going to give. That range correct cool that’s actually pretty easy to understand.

You break it down in. That simple form there hey maybe. Iover simplified it he’s like no it’s not. That yeah well I think like. What is the most complicated part of. It receive that back. What yeah as range finders evolve. Ithink right now the kind of the benchmark. That everybody’s shooting for is distance right so. Ithink having received channel. That doesn’t introduce a lot of noise into the system. And is able to identify the signal returned from. All the noise that exists in the natural environment from sun from light right. Because yeah I think we’ve talked before environmental factors do play a role into. Each factor you can range right. Idon’t think people realize. That as much right so.

If like rain right can play a role yeah is. That’s because it scatters the light that’s going out is. What happens it scatters. That the nine of the. What we’re omitting the laser. That we’re mitting is bouncing off the rain itself oh okay it’s actually seeing targets at a number of distances out there gotcha so. You might get some wonky readings. Something like that depending on where. Where it’s hitting and coming back to. You okay that is a bigger issue for golf range finders oh yeah so. You know and hunting we’re looking for larger targets yeah. And golf we’re looking for a pin so finding a small pin in a forest of trees. Or building behind it is a challenge actually. When you’ve got fog. Or rain that’s introducing a lot of small targets in front of. It gosh yeah well and — I’ve noticed going to.

Some PRS matches and stuff. They like to hide stuff in trees very small stuff so it’s kind of the same element there you’re having to range really small stuff at extreme distances no. You know more extreme. Then golf but still yeah small stuff so that’s difficult so. Iwant to talk about — a little bit. What makes Leopold rangefinders different from other range finders on the market right there’s a lot of range finders out there. You guys have a lot of choices. We do a couple things. That kind of set us apart I’ll let. You take that so okay yes. That is accurate there were. Some there weren’t a lot of manufacturers. Ishould say marketers of range finders until the last couple years but there were. Some patents that expired in the industry okay. When those expired it was the easy way of doing range finders okay so.

Now we’ve seen a proliferation of small manufacturers. That are just buying chunks from the technologies already there. You just go to a manufacturing go hey. Iwant a rangefinder maybe. You make an industrial design change to the outside of exactly the way. You go right super easy yeah but you’re not innovating right you’re actually designing anything it. One of the things that sets. Us apart is the team. We have here yeah our engineers so. We have on staff double es that’s electrical engineers by the way electrical engineers. They came from Tektronix as well so. These are the guys that have been designing radar. And designing cell phone yes equipment. These are the guys that are experts in being able to perfect getting. That signal out of all the environmental noise. You know what we do is.

We develop something new. We go out together in the parking lot. We start ranging targets. We literally you walk up. And there’s a group of guys with. This cart these range finders set up. That are like they don’t look like. This right it’s just like guts. And wires hanging out. And they’re arranging stuff. And testing it I always thought. That was funny but yeah but yeah. You guys are designing like. Everything from the ground up here right. We do yeah all of our electronics. It allows us to overcome simple things yeah the first time. That really hit home having you know the engineers be here is. We resolve the white/black target issues expand on. That a little bit so what’s the we’re talking about contrast right so. We are yeah so and it’s important for archers okay. Anybody that’s taken a broad head target. And a field target out okay set them up side-by-side. And ranged between them has noticed. It okays you’re going to get a difference of variants.

And readings depending on what if you’re hitting white. Or black correct okay cool. And the reason for when the signal comes back yeah think of your car the parking lot. You have a light color car okay a lot of light reflects off of. It runs your car stays cooler right. You have a dark car right. It absorbs a lot of. That light so the car heats up. And there’s not as much emanating from the car okay same things happens on the targets okay so with the light target. You get a real big power spike coming back okay the return on the laser super strong. Because it’s reflecting. That flecks really well okay. And then with a dark color car. Or dark target yeah it’s very low return so. You can absorb that light. You know unless your engineers are really good. You know they’re looking at the rising edge of. That pulse that’s coming back. And the rising edge is different between a little target in a big target okay wow that’s.

Something I totally never. Even thought of right that’s but. That speaks to the level of detail. You guys go into when you’re designing all. These right and you’re thinking about. All those situations. You might face in the field on the range. Wherever you guys are using range finders right yeah. One other thing I think. That really sets us apart is the optics of the range finders actually I’ve noticed. That a lot of our range finders seem clear. Or brighter than other. Igo out you know I go out. And shoot someone else has. Another rangefinder. Ialways like looking through competitors products wrecks is always interesting to see. If they’re new and I’ve always noticed. That our seem brighter for some reason yeah there’s been a lot of evolution in the displays inside a range finders okay is.

One of the limiting factors to the bike. How much light actually is getting to your eye okay a little bit of background. When range finders first started selling commercially commercial orion fenders became popular there were. They were LCD based okay. And an LCD lets in generally around 18 to 25 percent light okay that’s a limitation of the technology yes not. Somebody can out advance. Somebody else yeah it’s very similar to a digital watch okay. When you’re looking through. That film it’s taking out. That light okay LCDs have evolved. You have high light transmission LCDs which is. What we put in our mid-range products. That got our light transmission up to around 60 65 percent oh wow so for people. That are you know hunting in the early morning or late in the evening it’s a big improvement. Because they’re able to see the animals. Iknow in those witching minutes. And that’s one starts moving around that’s. You know critical shots are taking you really need. That range right yeah so yeah.

And then we evolved from LCDs into loads okay. What stands for organic light-emitting diode okay. And that’s in our higher end ones here the 1600. And the 2800 correct okay cool. And that’s we started putting red. And people call it red displays. Or black displays yeah. What we do there is we’re actually injecting light into the optical path okay so. Than looking through film you’re just looking through optics. Now okay so you end up with roughly 85% light transmission okay but you’re injecting light into. Than injecting yeah an LED yeah. Ithink that’s easy. And that’s super important to. We talk about these longer range finders right 1600 yards 2800 yards at those distances. It gets harder and harder to see so you’re gonna need. That bright image right to make the. You know see the difference between.

You know a branch you know an antler Rock. And a target whatever. You may be shooting at right so supercritical yeah people think. That III wanted to put. That out there it seems like it’s a it’s a race just for the maximum distance but there’s a lot of other factors. That play into I think the brightness of the image is actually. One of them it’s supercritical. How easy it is to read the display like. You were saying like. That the red high contrast display in their yeah is nice easily readable. It’s definitely a consumer preference yeah part of its budget. And part of its consumer preference absolutely yeah. And obviously more expensive to manufacture. And make those enhance the higher-end so yep cool let’s let’s take. Some questions we want to start rolling through. Because man there’s a lot of them. Iguess it’s kind of kin to. What we were talking about here but James wall I’m gonna tell her name wrong James wall Xander are.

All rangefinders created equal. They just as complex is just as complex as finding the right scope. All range finders are not created equal yeah there’s different engine technologies into. You know for example. We first entered the range finder market no7. We were buying an off-the-shelf unit. Somebody else’s technology. We were putting our software. And our TBR ballistic software into. It is our differentiator right but. You know we quickly. We learned we weren’t going to be able to get the improvements out of. We were gonna want right. And the performance improvement so. We started developing our own engine yeah. And that’s we have learned the difference between. You know an MCU based engine. And FPGA based engines performance standards. That come from those super-smart.

And then the signal processing. That comes from that in terms of being able to resolve white. And dark targets and then. You reach the next benchmark for distance yes so that’s that’s cool. Ithink that’s important. It ties into just kind of like the core culture here at loophole is. We are constantly innovating right. We may not always be there’s my little public services announcement right we’re not always the first to market with. Something right there were range finders out there first. That ranged that distance. That range that distance but. We come our there into the market with the product we’ve thoroughly designed. It tested that it’s going to be the best product in.

That segment right when it’s out there. We take our time we just don’t throw. Something out there just to throw. It out there I know I’ve said. That before I just like harping on. That so yeah BJ on Instagram there why aren’t range finding binoculars. More popular good question great question yeah there’s going to be an interesting transformation in the next couple years in terms of electronics. And hardware we’re starting to see electronics proliferate into a lot. More hardware devices but at. Some point the consumer is going to have to decide. Ispend $3000 on a pair of binos. And a year later it doesn’t have the features in. Iwant yeah I want to spend $3000 on a new pair of binos that’s a big investment in the. You know range running by knows themselves. You can’t you know the idea is. You stick two things together. And there should be a significant cost savings right with ranked running by nose. It actually goes the opposite direction right. You take $1000 by know.

You take a $500 range finder. You don’t end up with a $1300 product. You end up with a $3000 right yeah just. They always thought. It was the complexity of. And correct if I’m wrong but in a BIOS. You expect a certain level of optical quality right yeah. You induce or introduced a rangefinder into. That equation now I’m having to send signals out. And receive them back in. And those that that lens system may not work with sending out those signals right so it’s like finding. That balance between. You know premium optical quality. And being able to range accurately right. And again we didn’t want make. Any compromises on that right. And you’ll see that so the answer is yes yeah the glass. It takes to still have a good range find or a good buy no. And a useful range finder is very complicated it’s its fragile.

What you’ll see in a lot of the lower-priced range-finding by notes. That are on the market. These days is they’ve actually got a filter over the display channel so. If the displays in the right channel. And you’re looking through. You close your eyes. And look back and forth you’ll see. That one’s a lot darker. Than the other Oh interesting so there’s a lot of compromise in there on AB. Iknow right you know in. That early morning late in the evening when you’re looking through. It yeah it’s not an optical blindness it’s not an optimal yeah hard to say yeah. Ithink that’s important. That it’s we just don’t want to make compromises. We don’t want to leave. You high when you’re in the field right so not to say we’re not working on.

Anything we’re always working on stuff so stay tuned. You know so let’s see McNeill. Most stellar 26 on Instagram. What is the battery life like great question battery life depends on a number of factors depends on what style display. You have the OLED uses a lot. More battery than an LCD does. That make sense and then in terms of ranging distance. You know our new or long range performance range finders. We omit a lot more pulses in those okay so it’s going to use. More battery life gotcha. However we’ve upgraded the battery as well we’re. Now using a 1-2-3 than a C. Or two in their okay so the battery itself has. More juice in their okay. You know it also depends on how. You use a single button push. You use scan mode yep. One of the biggest drivers for battery consumption is stabilizing the power supply so every time.

You just push to power. You don’t range you are consuming battery life okay yeah good to know excellent. And always carry a spare battery with. You back to our range day. Or hunting kit whatever your kid carry extra batteries on. You’ll be thankful your buddies will be thankful. You have to get them out of a jam not a lot of weight in your pack so. How are ya Colin Gallagher 5 on Instagram. How far do they range. They range in a half of a yard we’ll go over the. When we’re going to go through the line. And tell they range. That interesting part. How far do they range. And half of yardages yeah. We have our so the distance. You know in terms of the accuracy yeah. That resolution okay. And the resolution we’ve got. It down to six inches six to eight inches in terms of what we can do Wow. We speck our accuracy different from. We speck our accuracy to 1/2 yard okay. That’s because when it’s calibrated yeah. You might be aw you know. You might have six eight twelve inches difference from the next rangefinder okay.

That would show up you compare to as an accuracy thing but the resolution itself we’ve got. It down to two just over six inches geez that’s crazy. And that’s throughout the whole line right there. All accurate like that that is correct. Ithink that’s important too so. You do go to the entry level. One you’re not gonna sacrifice accuracy correct. We are measuring in tenths of yards. We aren’t displaying intensive yards but our new range finders. We do display in tents until. You get to the high end stuff. And my belief is. You don’t need to see. You know if you’re using the 2800. Most likely shooting a rifle yeah. You don’t care about a tenth of er yeah that’s actually Chris Campaign there on Facebook.

He asked which models are accurate 2/10 of a yards so. You just answered that’s because specifically. He was talking about bow hunting right. That actually plays the major factor. We talked a little bit about yesterday. We were talking about. That that difference in bows as much. Because the drop is way. More precipitous right then right but ballistics is significantly. More important in archery. It is for rifle absolutely yeah Jake papas an Instagram which rage rangefinders give. You horizontal distance to the target negating the angle horizontal distance today a lot of people market their product as. You know it has an inclination.

And the assumption from. That is they do ballistics. That isn’t the case okay range finders. That have an inclination of the angle x line of sight distance. That is I’m in marketing so. Idon’t know anything about numbers. Or math so you know. II remember being in trig in high school. And thinking I’m never gonna use. This is important. It every day now but trig itself isn’t a great solution it’s an approximate solution okay so. All of our competitors. That market they have the angle capability. What they’re saying is. They do trig some people might know. It as Rifleman’s rule okay real old timers might know. It is the quick fix quick okay. And the important thing to so. What trig does is it gives. You the horizontal distance okay. If your bullet was flying in a vacuum. That would be fine right here on earth. We have atmospheric so the greater the bullet arcs the.

More atmosphere that’s put along. That bullet okay yep so. You start to calculate for the angle. What it’s doing is. It shorten the horizontal distance but your bullet is still arcing so the problem. That gets generated there is. That they’re significantly. More drag on the bullet. You know in the trig solution yeah. And so you’re likely going to shoot low okay. It doesn’t it doesn’t take. That into consideration that’s correct tricky trig does not the ballistic solutions so our TVR does okay yeah our true ballistic range. We have groups so. Than entering in BC’s. We enter groups yes oh. Iguess there’s probably good segue to talk about TVR so. That is our ballistic system. That is encompassed in. These range finders. That is much more accurate. That trigonometry geometry approximation. Even say the words so yeah so expand on. We got blister groups right with the range finder right. They come with a card. That kind of has all your well.

Many calibers on there we’ve got we’ve got 25 groups 25 group solved 999% chance. What you’re shooting is going to be in. One of those groups correct well a hundred percent chance as long as you’re shooting above about 1900 okay feet per second but. And a lot of people out there. That are into ballistics are going to say hey. That doesn’t that’s not going to be super accurate they’re the answer to. That is as so our ballistic solution shoots out to eight hundred yards. And until you get past eight hundred yards the averages. We use for atmosphere for elevation for temperature are good enough for a minute of death okay.

All right that makes. That makes perfect sense. Ithink that’s whenever. We talk to whenever. Italk to Eric about the trigonometry versus the TV. He gets super worked up about. It i-i-i-i a good rule of thumb for. That is trig is a great solution out to four hundred yards for rifle shooters yeah. It works great out to four hundred yards right there’s actually competitors user manuals out there. That don’t use this product past for him so. If you’re shooting at a really high angle 400 yards is probably the limit for trig moderate angles 600 yards is a good rule of thumb probably for trig. And then ya interpolate in between those that’s so Adam along those lines Adam Lingus on Facebook I’m always curious of what angle slash distance the compensation becomes inaccurate so.

We talked about 800 yards so the TV yard is good out to 800 yards right correct. What about he mentioned angle there. We measure our angle to 89 degrees okay. And the in Clinard ‘var the accelerometer. We use to measure angle is really accurate okay um but. You know a lot of people will say. Irule of thumb is as our devices are good at. Any angle okay yeah. You start shooting any realistic angle. That you’re gonna be shooting at right 90 degrees things get a little bit tricky. All right let’s see here. Another good I get a lot of calls yeah. Where people say I was on the edge of the cliff. You know I was shooting straight down. It was 90 degrees very.

Few people are ever in. That environment you know a rule of thumb is at about 25 degrees people start thinking yeah wow. This is crazy steep the only 90 degrees shots I’ve seen is. You see YouTube video. Someone nding into their holster. Idon’t think you know. Iget a rangefinder for. That so let’s see oh. This is a great question so Ernie Bishop on Facebook their thanks for turning in Ernie. What is the Mac disk max distance with your best rangefinder. It you’re with non-reflective targets in bright sunlight snow mirage so non reflective targets. Ithink that’s a great segue into talking about the different kinds of targets. You were ranging and. They function right yeah yes the darker the target yeah. And the smaller the target the less distance.

That you’re going to be able to get out to okay so in terms of what’s our max distance a lot of. It depends on target our newest rangefinder the 2800 we’ve had. It out in the field we’ve compared. It with everybody’s stuff I’m really excited about. This product I’m proud of. This product oh yeah. Me too we’ve been are. It our fourth generation engine the engineers. That have been working on. This is a this is the culmination of three years worth of effort. It shows yeah so how far does. It ranges we limited at three thousand yards. And there’re trade-offs in their so people are gonna say. You know somebody else ranges to three thousand.

And has the capability. You range a stop sign to 3500 the reality is. That doesn’t exist in nature. And you’re never going to be in. That environment right we’ve gotten. Ican routinely get. It with the fir trees here around town out to twenty-seven twenty-eight hundred that’s an occasional target. Ican reach pretty much. Any of the fir trees out to 2300 mm-hmm trees are pretty good at reflecting. That the signal back to the rangefinder. All trees are different yeah that’s true not. All trees are created equal just like. All range finders are created equal. And our fir trees were lucky here in the northwest they’re pretty reflective but for other targets. Ihave never not got a range back on. Anything out to 1800 yards so over a mile yeah we’re good on every target okay that’s good to know. And then we talked a little bit yesterday about rocks right people like to range rocks as reference points but rocks aren’t actually very good at sending.

That signal back to the rangefinder right. That is correct it’s counter intuitive to. What I would think I would think oh yeah. It just lands off the rock. And back to the rangefinder. That makes sense but yeah that’s. Another comment I hear a lot yeah is oh. You know I was raised in a really reflective target. You know a rock wall yeah rocks are different yeah just like the range finders yep. Some are very porous. They scatter the light everywhere yeah. And it’s difficult to get a good range back on same with steel targets like a fresh steel target probably okay but. You got like a pitted steel target that’s got a bunch of divots. And stuff going on you may not be the best thing to be ranging off of so yes. II it’s worth mentioning the 2800. It out in Madras you can get steel out too. You know past a mile easily oh yeah with.

That products yeah cool yeah well. You said eighteen hundred yards you’re good you’re gonna range. Everything inside of. That so oh here we go AJ lamb chop on Instagram. You make them so durable my rx 1000 is a tank. And still running strong. We make them durable. We use them yeah that is a good. What the thousand I’ve. Even accepted units back from people. That have gone through combines really they’ve been harvested in the fields. And I’ve wanted them. You know it’s a trophy is a Wall of shame yeah I’ve exchanged amount with people but. You know we’ve gotten stuff back. You know that have gone through. Everything and still worked just fine yeah. These things are super durable. One of the things too. It has loopholes on the side of. It’s gonna be durable we’ve tested the crap out of these things. That they’re going to not only perform in the field but also survive in the field also so yeah.

Ithink on the these have aluminum chassis don’t. They do sixteen hundred. And sixteen hundred has aluminum chassis yeah. We avoided the aluminum chassis on the 2800 due to weight yeah. We need to aluminum on the inside of. That which is where the unit gets its weight from yep so to counteract. We put right but this is durable high-impact Palmer yeah. Imean that’s super durable so cool let’s see nice so Logan Cummins 93 on Instagram. Icompared by 2800 to a Leica 2700. And a Saiga 2400 and the loopholed smoked in. Both an accuracy and clarity not really a question but that’s cool to hear right love bigger.

Though yeah this is the stuff. That makes Erik super happy so right that’s great. II will I think it’s also important to mention. We talked about some of the differentiators. What makes loop holt different our engineering team has done a lot of work to make sure. That the sunlight doesn’t impact our ranges so on the 2800. What the light we omit the Sun puts out a very similar type of light so. If you’re ranging into the Sun it’s very easy for a rangefinder to become confused okay. And that’s why you’ll see distances limited during bright daylight hours okay the new 2800 it’s its a feature. Iinternally call environmental adaptation but. What we’ve been able to do is negate the effects of the Sun yeah so. What you’ll actually see is in bright daylight ranging into the Sun. We will be able to range just as far. It was low-light conditions.

When traditional range finders do their best kind of correlates to. What we do with scopes right. Some special mechanical stuff lens system stuff inside to negate. When your well yeah. When you’re looking straight like maybe the sun’s rising and. You got a lot of glare. And a lot of light coming in to still be able to see. That target, so I guess kind of took those same kind of learnings. That in the rangefinder right so yeah yes Nick III will say. That one’s more of an electrical fix. And not a physical fix yeah with our scopes. Everything is more optical. Or physical for sure. One is good so mission 22 on Instagram thanks mission 22. You for tuning in which model do. You recommend for three guns. Or ranging out to a thousand-yard ish. It comes to three guns.

It comes down to personal preference yeah the 1600 of the 2800 will do. Both of those easily obviously the 1600 is a slightly smaller package but the 2800 will range a lot further so. It comes down to personal preference for. That but yeah I actually. If my personal preference. Iprobably would choose a 1300. If I’m just choosing one for three guns. And a thousand-yard ish out to 1300 yards it’s its smaller. You can see it’s a little. More compact I know three gun guys are always conscious of how much gear. You got towed around yeah you’re little you’re a little recycled kid. You know stroller with your stuff in. It so let’s face the take-up. And that’s gonna do. Everything you need to do in a three gun match right.

Some of those matches are starting to get incorporate. Some long-range stages. And stuff into it but that’s going to be able to do. Everything you need to do right. It will the 1300 it also has our FPGA based engine so you’re gonna get a lightning-fast response from. It ranges trees regularly out to 1100 easily yeah. And so yeah definitely personal preference yep actually a good Segway let’s talk about the lineup we’ve been mentioning a couple of these models but let’s start. And your entry level. And let’s work all the way up to the 2800 there so. Iour line starts with the 650 yeah. That is our budget friendly product. It uses the traditional LCD so you’re going to get roughly 20% light transmission through. That does great range targets out to 700 easily 800 easily. And then we move up to the 1300 family. That product we upgrade the engine in. We start to display in tents for archers ok the product uses our FPGA engine so you’re gonna see it’s really fast you’re gonna get your responses back very quickly actually so.

These are a little different engine from. This entry-level 650 right there correct okay. We introduced our in climate err. And our TBR ballistics ok the 1300s. We talked about before. That full draw 3 that archery specific model 2 right. That is correct that does the horizontal distance in archery out to 175 yards yep so that’s the that’s the max distance for the archery mode on. That right correct cool. And then jumping up to. That so the next in the line is our 1600 family. We introduce our OLED display yeah. It has the same TV our software inside of. We do our ballistics out to 850. We have a variety of finishes.

Ilike to call the blaze orange rangefinder the second rangefinder. That you’ll buy I actually have. One in my range kit. And well I mean people like will pull. And be like what are. What really and I’m like. Idon’t love the look of. It but man I’m never gonna lose. This thing right yeah. Icould leave it over there leave a hundred yards away right you’re gonna find it so. It comes down to personal preference. And choice of patterns but yeah. You know a lot of people are afraid. That an animal might be able to see. It cannot and so but. You can so you sit down on a stump yeah. And you’re ranging everything and. You leave it on the stump yeah you’re gonna see. That a lot better than you’re gonna see. That excellent point very well-thought-out. And then we move up to the new product for this year the 2800. This is our latest and greatest it’s got.

All the bells and whistles it’ll wash your dishes park your car for you’ve earned. What are the price points on. Iknow people are probably interested not to sound super infomercial II yeah. We started around roughly 180. And then move up to the new 2800 said five hundred dollars okay so. Imean five hundred dollars for. That performance that’s actually not super bad let’s see. We were gonna get this question so Robinson outdoors on IG are the range finders covered under the gold ring warranty so our range finders are covered under the electric electronic warranty yep there’s a two-year warranty it’s a two-year warranty. Something you know our customers they’ve been buying rifle scopes. And binoculars for 70 years yep. They want their products to last. And there’s an expectation around a lifetime warranty yep unfortunately electronics will eventually fail it’s just it’s the physical limitations of where electronics are yes right so it’s its exactly like your cell phone your TV at home it’s gonna die.

All the features inside of your car yeah. They will fail, and so we’ve put a very generous two-year warranty on. And we’re always a little bit flexible here at loopholed. When somebody calls up. Because absolutely it’s difficult to know. You purchase it but detox on Instagram does accuracy lesson at increased distances. It does a number of people SPECT their accuracy is a percentage. Ifeel very confident in our higher-end products in terms of accuracy. It comes down to a timing issue okay. Itrust our EE engineering designer he’s got a date dialed he’s got dialed in he’s been figuring out. How to detect planes from. Many miles away he knows exactly. He knows exactly how to nail. That’s a good I wanted to talk a little bit about the 2800 since its new. And talked about the Alpha IQ system. That so it’s a new engine for. That talking about long range.

And increased accuracy distance so explain a little bit. That alpha IQ system means alright. We branded our first engine with DNA digitally enhanced accuracy that’s. We started overcoming some of these white dark target issues distance accuracy issues. And then with our new engine so our Gen 4 engine. It the Alpha IQ we’ve incorporated those same DNA capabilities, but we’ve souped. It up so yeah where our traditional range finders put out roughly six to seven hundred pulses in a second our new alpha IQ engine is putting out 13000 pulses a second so. You went from seven to eight hundred. Or 79 over whatever was to thirteen thousand correct okay. That makes sense why it’s so fast. You get a reading back at the distance right correct yeah crazy there’s a lot of other things going on in order to get. That distance back as quickly as possible yeah but with.

That yeah with the 13000 per pulse. And we’re right up against the eye safety limits there okay yeah. All of our products are class three R which is eye safe okay. We submit everything to the FDA that’s that’s. This snazzy little yellow label. We have to put on the back of the range finders kind of screws up the aesthetics of. You know you’re legally obligated to have to do. That so yeah good question from gee-whiz e18 on Instagram which model would. You recommend when paired with a cds scope setup dialing out the 700 gr. Any of our products from the 13 up to the 2800 yep. All incorporate choosing your ballistics yeah. And there’s a lot of belief out there. You have ballistics on a dial. That your rangefinder doesn’t need ballistics yeah.

That is not true okay. You need ballistics inside of the rangefinder in order to give. That shoot tube distance okay. Where the dial accommodates for the environmental factors mm-hmm the TBR inside of the rangefinder is what’s going to give. That accurate distance okay. And then you can dial. It on the dial that accurate distance. You ranged in size range finder that’s correct okay. Iso from the 13 up to the 2800. All use the TBR W it is the fastest. Most accurate solution out there yeah you’re not having to look at data tables. And things it’s a range dial yeah that’s its a great point talking about the kit. And talking about how the products. You know work in conjunction with. Each other so you choose your ballistic group. You get your ballistics dialed. And the rangefinder. You arrange you get your custom dial with. That cds system we take your specific ballistics off the rifle muzzle velocity ballistic coefficient your environmental data.

What type of bullet you’re shooting we do. That math for you it on a custom dial. That has yardages on the side of. It like Eric said you got to do range with. That accurate TBR range dial the dial to. That range so it’s 550 yards. You dial to 55 use the center your reticle. And it’s its super simple so. It is yeah it takes a lot of guesswork out. And which is to me it’s important you’re out there. You know buck fever is a real thing people get a little. You know freaked out. When they’re gonna maybe. You take their you know. If you’re a seasoned hunter. You get excited right yep. And the last thing I want to do again being a marketing guy who doesn’t do math is done math right in the field so the simpler.

Ican make it for myself. We better we have worked to take. All those capabilities out of there for sure. You know I’ve read some questions over the years in terms of our ballistics. You know if you’re not putting in your BC. If you’re not putting in your elevation. We mentioned this briefly a minute ago out to 800 yards our solution actually. We are within 1/2 MOA at 600 yards oh so. We are typically better. Than peoples capability. Or people’s rifles and our TBR solution. We have 25 groups and that’s zeroed in at 200. Somebody says hey how come. You stopped it at 800 yards hokum. You can’t go further well past 800 yards. All those other conditions become so much of a factor. That to get from 800 to 900 we’d have to go from 25 to groups to 250 groups yeah. And to get another 100 yards after. That we’d probably have to go to 2000 groups okay which would be a little overwhelming for sure let’s see. Ijust want to you know common issues slash tips. And tricks that maybe.

You would recommend to people. When they’re using range finders the. We get the most talking to the tech service guys. That are at one 1-800 loophole there. You have an issue is sometimes you’ll have our tree mode. Or bow mode on in one of these. That bow mode only you can only arrange 175 yards that’s the max distance so. They try to arrange. Something further they can’t get a distance. We do give a distance so. That was in our earlier range fine okay so. We fixed that. We did fix what had happened there. We haven’t sold a product like. That for ten years okay well. We still get questions about the way. We do but for our new. Once you’ve hit the limit of the ballistics no matter. What product you have. It converts over to line-of-sight mode okay. We blink a little LS down there to make sure. You can tell now in l OS mode but. That would go out to the TBR like TBR for instant goes to 800 sos by bringing something past 800 it’s just going to give.

That line of sight distance that’s correct okay. That makes sense any other kind of tips. Or tricks someone asked. Ican’t remember was. They were talking about oh yeah Nathan Way on Facebook. How does the early morning fog. You affect arranging I’m sorry early morning yeah fog. Or do so not specifically rain but maybe. Some mist something coming up from fields. You know so the rain. And the fog it’s very similar to the noise. We talked about earlier okay. And our 2800 so the answer is. This yes and depending on the quality of the rangefinder depends on the effect of what you’re going to see yeah there was as well. Another effect it depends on how the software inside of the unit is processed okay a common question. We get is can one rangefinder for golf. And honey and unfortunately so the answer. That would be yes but you’re gonna make compromises for. That in golf we set the software to look for first target capability which is.

We were able to find a flag in front of a forest of trees behind. You know a flag puts off a very small return. Where a tree behind it’s going to put off. You know in a short distance gonna put off a very large return we’re in hunting you’re looking for a deer. Or a tree and you’re not looking for these super small targets different situation maybe it’s a right tool for the right job yeah. Ican drive a nail in with a sledge hammer but. It may not be the best way to do. It rights yeah okay cool so it’s. Some other I like to break down common issues into. Both technical and user okay so for technical issues. We talked a little bit about. You know say first target technology versus. Most target one is people thinking.

That the target is reflective okay. We talked a little bit about. That yeah you know the darker a target is. More porous a target is the worse the capabilities are okay yeah a. It showed itself in earlier range finders with black foam targets on a 3d course okay for archery shooters super porous. And absolutely yeah that’s super black yeah. Isuspect I’m still waiting for my invite to go in. And access hunt in Hawaii meeting. That lava would be the absolute worst. Some walk over there but it’s not quite axis deer hunting in that’s correct. II’m waiting for a z-axis deer to go do. Some testing well you can get. Another issue is a common alright I’ll call. This a misperception okay over the years there’s a lot of questions. Somebody says what’s your beam divergence. And my belief is. Anybody is asking about being divergence is asking.

That question they think. That the smallest beam divergence will be the longest ranging capability out there okay. That definitely is not the case oh okay beam divergence is a function so. You know similar to the horsepower of an engine inside of a car. You can have you know a really tight divert. This case you know an engine. That has a lot of horsepower but. If your transmission is only geared to get. You know not to get out of first gear you’re gonna have a lot of torque but you’re not gonna have a lot of top speed okay. And so it’s very similar with our range finders. Where being able to get the single back process the noise out of. It is just as important.

More important as well as just the power levels so. How much your drive so it’s really about. These things working in conjunction with sister it’s not. One thing or the other the range finder engine is a system just like our CD s. And in TBR is the system hunter 77 on Instagram. This question was going to come up to who maybe will tease a little bit does the 2800 have a ballistic calculator. We are continuously innovating new products stay tuned. That answer so Eric. Ijust want any last words. You want to say about the range finders. Anything we missed. II’m available here. If people have questions Eric’s direct line to his desk. II could talk you need to cut. When you’re done with. You know other what are. Some other things you know. Another thing that’s great about having the team work here. You know for say is false positives.

We always felt like giving somebody the wrong information was going to be a bigger issue. Than not giving somebody information at. All yeah so one of the things. We make sure we do is not provide people false positives okay. That comes from establishing a threshold for noise. We identify our targets. You know for example with a new twenty-eight hundred we’ve set. We are likely to only get a false reading in. One in ten thousand oh yeah so. We have compromised. What our max distance could be in order make sure. We never provide somebody a wrong information super important. That goes through kind of. Everything we do these loopholed lives. We get to pull back the curtain a little bit. And explain why we did. Something like that right why didn’t. You why is it your Mac distance four thousand yards. Something like that well because of.

That right so I’m so glad. You asked that you’re interested so. You know another trade-off. We make here with range finders in terms of what your max distance capability is so. We could set the max distance on. This to be significantly. More yeah but you’re likely only to get. You know license plates stop signs street signs okay but. What you do compromise is the number of pulses. You can omit think of. This way you send a pulse out. We have to get that back before. We send the next one out in order to be sure. What we’re ranging okay so. You know similar to radar your max distance. You can range it’s going to be limited to the number of pulses. More pulses we send out the. More likely we are to get a target reading back okay.

That makes sense okay yeah should. That a different way no. That made sense okay so but again to the point like. We could totally stretch legs on. This thing out a little bit. More yep then you’re compromising other you’re only gonna pick up targets. That don’t exist in the environment yeah. We want to make sure. That we’re proposing yeah for steal for targets. That people are going to be. What you’re actually gonna be using in the field right yeah excellent okay awesome Eric thank. You so much for coming by. And sharing about the product. That answered a lot of questions. You guys probably have. More questions feel free to type them in the comments. And we’ll get back to. Ididn’t get through. You know half these here they’re super good questions but like.

Isaid type them out. You know we encourage. You guys to sign up go on Luke welkom sign up for the core insider newsletter. That way we launch new products like. This twenty-eight hundred. Or maybe whatever is coming next. You get an email and you’re the first to know about. That new product coming out. We got a lot of other cool stuff on there too cool stories cool in the field tips tricks. That kind of stuff in the sign up for the core insider newsletter. And yeah it’s its awesome so until next time thanks guys for joining us thanks Nick yeah.
